Chapter 3
Barbossa and Rose arrived on the platforms to see Will holding the charts.
"You have the charts!" Barbossa said rather surprised that he was able to get them so easily.
"And better." Will said, gesturing towards Huang. "A ship and a crew."
Rose took a breath looking around her brows pinched together. "Where's Sao Feng?"
"He will cover our escape, then meet us at Shipwreck Cove."
"This way. Be quick." Huang said firmly.
Barbossa nodded his head. He and Will followed Huang.
Rose, Elizabeth, Pintel, Ragetti, Cotton and the others followed into the night.
PIRATES
Elizabeth hugged her sister tightly in her embrace. "I was so worried." She admitted softly keeping her in her embrace for a bit longer.
Rose let out a soft chuckle pulling back stroking some of Elizabeth's brown hair back. "I promise you that Barbossa wasn't going to allow me to get harmed."
"Still." Elizabeth said softly letting out a breath through her teeth. "I was worried."
Rose gave her sister a soft smile. "We're on our way now." She admitted softly looking back over the railing to the dozen of ships clustered on the shore, Singapore glowing as it burned. "There's no place left for him to cower. Do you think he will honor the call?" She questioned turning her head towards the darkness on the ship escaping from the light of Singapore.
Tia Dalma came up behind the two of the siblings. "I cannot say. There be something on the seas that even the most staunch and bloodthirsty pirates have come to fear."
"Something that Cutler Beckett has that no one will be able to stop…" Rose said softly as they moved along the water on the ship.
PIRATES
Jones gripped the ship's rail with his claw tightly.
Beckett nodded his head indicating to Jame that he should continue away with a chest.
"The Dutchman sails as its Captain commands."
"And the Captain is to sail it as commanded. This is no longer your world, Jones The immaterial has become… immaterial. I would have thought you'd learn that when I ordered you to kill your pet."
Governor Swann stepped forward gripping his hand to his chest in worry. "Did you give those ships opportunity to surrender?"
"We let them see us. Methinks that opportunity enough." Jones said, looking at Governor Swann narrowing his eyes slightly at him.
"My daughters could have been aboard one of those ships. That alone is cause to exercise restraint!" He felt his heart plummeting inside of his chest. He couldn't have lost them both.
"We need prisoners to interrogate. Which works best when they are alive." Beckett said looking over at Jones.
"I am exterminating pirates. As commanded by the Company." Jones turned his attention to Governor Swann once again. "And your daughters are dead. Pulled under with the Black Pearl, by my pet. Did Lord Beckett not tell you that?"
Governor Swann turned on his heels and walked towards the cabin where the heart was being held. He walked into the cabin and saw the marines pointing their rifles at the heart. He grabbed one of their bayonets to plung it into the heart.
James grabbed his wrist. "Governor!"
"Did you know? Did you?" Governor Swann asked softly.
James blinked a few times unsure of what Governor Swann was talking about.
"They're dead! Rose and Elizabeth are dead!"
James looked shocked. His beloved Rose and her sister were gone. His heart clenched tightly in his chest. He watched Governor Swann break down. He jerked his head to the marines ordering them to leave.
Governor Swann regained his regal composure. "Let me go! Let me do this."
"Let him go."
Governor Swann looked narrowly at the Captain that stood there. "Stay back! I will kill you."
"And are you prepared for what comes after? When I carved that traitorous vessel from my body, I cast upon it a terrible geis. If you stab my heart then yours will take its place. The crew is not bound to me, they are bound to the Dutchman and the Dutchman must have a captain. Will ye serve."
He hesitated as Beckett and Mercer came into the room.
"Governor! Your daughters are still alive."
"Saw them myself, in Singapore."
Beckett waved Jones off who had an angry look on his face.
"You're all liars."
"No. Jones is merely cruel. But perhaps I am guilty of sin by omission. For which I apologize."
James took a breath knowing that Rose being alive was a good thing. He would be able to see her again. He could only hope that she would be alright with him doing a job to get his life back. "Governor… Weatherby… There's still hope."
Governor Swann looked up at Norrington seeing that he had hope.
"I have hope."
The anger drained from his face. He released the bayonet to Norrington. "Our association is ended." He said as James led him out of the room.
James took a breath as he looked up at the sky. He could only hope that Rose was safe and hopefully headed back towards Port Royal. He wanted to see her face to make sure that she was alright, but hearing the words of Mercer. He could only hope that Mercer was correct on the fact that both of the girls were alive.
