Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 5 of Tortured. I do apologize for taking so long in trying to get an update. I got sidetracked in the other stories that I've been writing. I know that this story is probably going to undergo rewrites until I feel happy about it and the same way with Say You Will. I might do the rewrite sooner than I think. This might be my last chapter before undergoing rewrites for both stories. I hope that you guys enjoy this chapter. Without further ado Chapter 5. ENJOY!

Chapter 5

Rose stumbled out of the surf with the others panting for breath. She pushed her wet hair back as she looked around. Her brows pinched together in concern. Were they really where she thought that they were? Were they in the Locker? Her heart clenched in her chest. Was her mother's soul here too? If she was it would be a reunion that she would love. But she had a feeling in her heavy heart that it probably wasn't the case.

"I hate boats," Ragetti said as he loosened his hold on the mast that he and Pintel had held onto.

"Really? So, no more waxing all poetic 'bout how you ran away to sea and how you's only truly happiest at sea -"

"I still love the sea, it's boats that can't be trusted."

Gibbs looked around at the desolation of where they were. "This be truly a God-forsaken place."

Elizabeth looked around her brows pinched together in worry. "I don't see Jack. I don't see anyone."

"Not a soul," Marty said shaking his head.

"He is here. Davy Jones never once gave up that what he's took." Barbossa pointed out rather proudly knowing that to be the truth.

Will eyed Barbossa for a moment before speaking. "And does it matter? We are trapped here, by your doing. No different than Jack."

"Witty Jack be closer than you think." Tia Dalma said her lips quirking into a smirk.

Rose turned her attention to Tia Dalma wondering if she was stating the truth. And if it was so where was Jack?

A dozen crabs appeared moving over the sand and scuttling towards her sideways.

She carefully balanced some of them on her arms cooing to them like they were her pets.

Rose blinked a few times before turning her head. She then noticed that Jack was on the bow of the Pearl riding over the desert sand toward the water, on the backs of thousands of chittering crablings.

"Slap me thrice and hand me to my momma! It's Jack!" Gibbs said rather gobsmacked to see the Captain in one piece.

A small smile came to Rose's lips. At least he was alive and that meant something. Her heart still ached knowing that her James wasn't around anymore because Davy Jones probably did away with him when he found the heart. But what worried her was how did Beckett even get the heart. She couldn't believe that James would even think of doing such a thing.

Jack came up to them through the water.

Gibbs stepped forward with a grin on his face and his arms wide open.

"Mister Gibbs."

Gibbs snapped to attention. "Aye, Captain!"

"I thought so. I expect you can account for your actions?"

"Sir?"

"There has been a perpetual and virulent lack of discipline upon my vessel! Why? Why is that?"

"Sir - you're in Davy Jones Locker."

"I know that. I know where I am and don't think I don't."

"Jack Sparrow," Barbossa said smoothly as he looked at the confused captain.

Jack froze before turning as crew members stepped back to reveal Barbossa to him. "Ah ... Hector. It's been too long."

"Yes, Isle de Muerta, remember? You shot me!"

"I did not." He then looked towards Tia Dalma. "Tia Dalma, out and about! You add an agreeable sense of the macabre to any delirium."

"He thinks we're a hallucination?" Will asked looking at Jack wondering if that was indeed the case.

"Ah, William. Tell me, have you come because you need my help to save a certain distressing damsel? I mean, damsel in distress? Either one."

"No," Will said firmly.

"Then you wouldn't be here, so you can't be here, Q.E.D, you're not really here."

Elizabeth moved forward. "Jack."

Jack looked at her for a few moments.

"This is real. We're here."

Fear, mistrust, recognition and realization flitted across his face. He turned away.

Gibbs joined him.

"The Locker you say."

"Aye." Gibbs said with a nod of his head.

Jack nodded his head slowly coming to terms with this was real and not fake.

"We've come to rescue you!" Elizabeth spurted out looking at Jack hoping that Jack would believe that they were there to save him from the hell that he was living in at that very moment.

"Have you now? That's a good one. Very kind of you. But it would seem as I possess a ship, and you don't, you're the ones in need of rescuing and I'm not sure as I'm in the mood."

"I see my ship, right there," Barbossa said gesturing towards the Pearl.

Jack squinted searching. Bouncing lightly on his feet before leaning to the side to see what Barbossa was even talking about. He didn't see any ship. "Can't spot it. Must be a tiny little thing hiding somewhere behind the Pearl."

Will put himself between the two men. "Jack, listen. Cutler Beckett has the heart of Davy Jones. He controls the Flying Dutchman."

"He's taking over the seas," Elizabeth confirmed even more.

"The song has been sung. The Brethren Court is called." Tia Dalma said looking at Jack.

"I leave you folk alone for just a minute, and look what happens," Jack said shaking his head.

"Aye, Jack. The world needs you back something fierce." Gibbs said with a nod of his head.

"And you need a crew," Rose said speaking up for the first time in a while. Her hands clenched at her sides as she looked at the Captain.

Jack looked at Will, Barbossa, Pintel, Elizabeth, Rose, and Tia Dalma who were lined up. He stepped back looking at the line again. "Why should I sail with any of you? Four of you have tried to kill me in the past." He stopped at Elizabeth. "One of you succeeded."

Will looked startled for a moment.

Rose blinked a few times in confusion. Elizabeth did what? Her little sister was the reason that they were in this dangerous predicament and there could be a chance that they couldn't get out of this because of Elizabeth.

Jack noticed that Will and Rose knew nothing of what had happened. "She hasn't told you? Then you'll have lots to talk about while you're here." He looked at Tia Dalma. "As for you -"

"Oh, don't tell me you didn't enjoy it at the time," Tia said looking at him with a coy smile on her face.

"That's fair. All right, you're in." He looked at Rose for a moment nodding his head. He then looked to Ragetti. "I don't need you." He looked to Gibbs. "Gibbs, you get another chance. Marty.

Cotton, all right. And Cotton's Parrot, I'm a little iffy, but all right, you're a team -" He stopped at Tai Huang. "And you are?"

"Tai Huang. These are my men."

"Where do your allegiances lie?"

"With the highest bidder."

"I have a ship."

"That makes you the highest bidder."

Rose took a breath this was going to be something that they were going to have to deal with now that they were on the other side of things. Her heart clenched in her chest in worry. She worried about what could happen to them.
