Before this chapter starts i'd like to say that this is my first ever fanfic. The idea has kinda been burning in the back of my head for a while now but only up until recently did I actually put those ideas to paper thanks to encouragement from a great friend. They helped look over errors with me to the best of our abilities so I definitely thank them a lot. However the beginning is written with the idea that you at least watched the first episode.

I own neither Mha or JJK, they belong to Kōhei Horikoshi and Gege Akutami respectively.

Chapter 1: How I took a bully's advice and got powers.

Society, no, the world hated him. He couldn't believe it took this long to actually figure it out. No that wasn't right, he had known he just never wanted to accept reality. Now that he thought about it he didn't actually think he'd been living in reality for a while now. Too caught up in his own delusions but now he understood. They were necessary delusions, their sole purpose to keep him happy, positive, and determined to achieve what deep down he knew to be an unreachable dream. It was also the only thing keeping him going in this world, and now it was gone. Cruelly shattered by the one he looked up to most, the number one pro hero All Might had just brought him crashing back to this cruel reality that he wanted nothing to do with.

It was actually almost funny in a twisted way. The one person he adored most was the one who had just hurt him arguably the most as well. He was no stranger to being hurt physically. Ever since he was four it had been a near constant in his life. Bullied over something he couldn't even control. He couldn't even lie to himself anymore and say everything would be fine one day because truthfully nothing had been fine for roughly 10 years. He couldn't even describe what he was feeling right now, he so desperately wanted to cry his eyes out but no tears came, overshadowed by such a deep sense of loss he could not handle.

Most of all for the first time in his 14 years of life he felt truly angry at the society he lived in, at the fellow students who belittled and treated him like nothing, the teachers that encouraged them even letting it happen unimpeded, at All Might for not even being kind enough to spare him a second glance after breaking his world, and at his so called childhood friend who turned on him and became his main aggressor.

On top of his list he was mad about how powerless he felt not being able to even do anything about it. All this combined into just a gnawing numbness in his chest. The numbness gave him a calculative clarity, one that made him take his first step to the railing of the apartment building he was on, left up here by All Might. Seriously, this was just a tragedy waiting to happen that the number 1 had clearly ignored. He kept taking step after step to the railing until he was peering over the side.

At least a five story drop with obstacles in the way, definitely a painful and possibly slow way to go. It was the numbness that allowed him to shrug off his backpack, to pull himself over the railing, and stand right on the edge. He couldn't help but remember what his 'friend' said today, 'Maybe if you prayed for a quirk in the next life and took a swan dive of the roof you'd have better luck next time' that sentence rang loud and oppressively in his mind but with a bitter resignation he closed his eyes and began to pray.

'Kami-sama please I beg of you. In my next life could you bless me with a quirk so that I may be normal like everyone else. I truly beg from the deepest depths of my heart. I do not have the will anymore to go on with my current life. So in my next life can you give me strength. Thank you Kami-sama. I'm sorry.'

With his prayer finished he took a deep breath. He was starting to lose the numbness in favor of fear so while he still could he had to do it. So with one final deep breath he raised a foot and let it hang over the side of the building but hesitated.

The numbness was gone now and his morality and regular emotions were rushing back with a vengeance and all he felt was unadulterated fear. Slowly he began to bring his foot back and when it was on the ledge he raised it again this time to climb over the railing back to safety. However before he could, a large explosion a couple blocks down spooked him causing him to lose his grip he tried he really did but he couldn't grab onto the railing again. In the next blink he was already tipping over the ledge and falling.

They say in your final moments your life flashes before your eyes and the world begins to slow until it seems to be in slow motion. Well, Izuku Midoriya was just now experiencing a rush of adrenaline like he's never felt before making his brain work over time to try and process his sudden monumental spike in fear. He could only watch helplessly as the railing and roof got farther and farther away while he fell back first to the earth below all in painfully accurate and slow detail. He was shocked that he had gotten as far as he did before the explosion. There was no sense of pride, just violent shock.

Unfortunately the shock of it all did nothing to stop him from thinking of other things, namely his own mother. He felt guilty for even thinking of leaving her alone but now that guilt was doubled, no, tripled. His life would be over with the last words he said to her being a farewell for school! He was truly such a terrible son, causing her to worry so much to the point of overeating and now he was just up and leaving her alone. Morbidly he wondered how long it would take for word to reach her, the news that he had committed suicide. Even though he had lost his nerve this would still undoubtedly look like he ended his life.

Izuku's train of thought was rudely interrupted when the first obstacle on his way down met painfully with his right shoulder. It was the sharp pointed edge of a cooling system that caused his first injury, having broken his right shoulder blade in half and causing him to turn over face down from the impact. It allowed him the pleasure of watching his second obstacle harm him, that being an empty clothes line. He fell through it, breaking one end and causing it to wrap around his left leg then yank it out of its socket as he kept falling with gravity. That had the added effect of turning him back over on his back but this time more at an angle with his legs up and head down. He had already seen what was below, a fire escape now perfectly lined up to smash into his back side. And smash into his back it did, resulting in his third injury: a broken spine right at the lumbar area and damaging the flimsy and low quality rail causing it to bend outward from the force. His final injury was a straight 20 foot drop head first onto the concrete below breaking the skin and cracking his head open. And just like that Izuku Midoriya knew only darkness, his thoughts abruptly silenced.

oOo

For only being 53 he already felt well beyond his age. Every bone in his body already ached and he woke up with the 'grace' of someone in their 80's. He blamed his job entirely for his deteriorating body, and mood. More specifically, what he fought due to his job, now you might be wondering, was he a hero, the supposedly only profession nowadays worth a damn and involved absurd amounts of combat to be profitable? Hell no, he can't stand being the center of attention and would never envy top heroes for dealing with the media, he was convinced they were disguised villains, no one who wasn't one should be THAT nosey.

So you might be wondering, if he wasn't a pro hero then why did he have to fight on the job. Was he a ring fighter, a professional quirk duelist, or maybe an underground fighter? he answer, none of the above, reasons? Well starting from the top ring fighting wasn't condoned in japan, quirk dueling wasn't really as popular here as in america, and the last one was illegal. So what was his job, well he was a sorcerer secretly sanctioned and supported by the government. It wasn't exactly a big secret and anyone who dug enough would find it but no one really cared much to actually look for it in the current era.

So that then begs the question: what does a sorcerer do? Well the short answer was that they fought supernatural entities named curses to keep humans safe. Using cursed energy, innate control of negative human emotion in the form of a spiritual power, to effectively fight back against beings made entirely of the same energy. The long answer, well he didn't care much for it so who cares that was basically the entire gig. Get your ass beat by monsters that unless are incredibly powerful no one can see. He had no illusion of his job it was government aided suicide plain an simple and he'd been lucky to even survive for so long. It paid well and he had yet to actually run into anything regular people can see so he might as well continue since it's really the best he'll get.

Still his own thoughts did nothing to help his mood as he walked down the crowded shopping alley after having successfully completed a mission. The curse was a quadrupedal blob with a mouth located on its underside and five eyes giving it omnidirectional vision. The downside, and how he won, was that the eyes weren't protected meaning its advantage was also its greatest weakness and easily exploitable. Safe to say it was pretty weak in regards to curses but still fast enough to run. Which leads to his current tired and sore muscles.

Still it sucked to be called in on his supposed mandatory break day. 'Oh well at least I'll still be paid for having gotten rid of it', he thought ruefully. The street he wasn't too busy, seemed the school rush had already ended with everyone either making it back home or having fun with friends. He couldn't help but notice a trio of boys in black uniforms loitering further down in a crevice between two buildings. 'They seem mad… wonder why' he couldn't help but let his mind drift a little as he continued to walk down the street.

He continued onwards still jokingly making up scenarios about what could have made the delinquents mad. 'Maybe one of their victims actually got back at them or they could have gotten their ego's checked by a thug.' He couldn't help but crack a small grin at the thought. Unfortunately that grin was immediately wiped off his face as a large explosion happened from behind him. He stumbled forward a bit from the surprise but quickly regained his balance. He turned back around and saw smoke rising from the shopping alley he just walked out of as people were already scrambling to run away. Reaching out with his senses he tried to find out if it was a curse that might have caused the problem, never hurt to be cautious.

His fears were proved unfounded, as when he checked the curse energy that had appeared in the alley was all leaking out into the world. The key to detecting curses was to focus on gathered cursed energy so it was safe to say this was caused by humans. While no curses strong enough to be seen had ever appeared in recent memory it was still wise to at least make sure. He looked up when he saw a figure moving along the rooftops. He quickly realized it was a hero, mainly due to his outfit. The man was large and quite buff sporting metal hazard gauntlets and a similar forehead protector.

The civilians who had just moments before been scared senseless had all almost immediately calmed at the hero's arrival. A good portion even ventured to form around the alley to see what was happening while the rest continued on their way. Most even started light banter and expressed how exciting it was to watch a hero in action. He couldn't help but think this was a problem with hero society. People just had no more common sense when in these situations. They treated it as entertainment rather than violent crimes. But either way that was a problem for the heroes not him and he didn't care much to waste his time watching them try to show off for civilian audiences. So he continued on his way.

He continued to walk away leaving the problem for the hero to deal with, hopefully the civilians won't be injured and unless those delinquents were completely dumb they'd have run the moment a villain showed up. However, after walking for a bit longer he felt a growing burst of cursed energy. Far enough that he couldn't accurately tell what it was. It was much bigger than his own already and seemed to cap out at a little over double his own power. He broke out into a full sprint, much slower than a speed quirk but still faster than someone without, rushing to the spot that could potentially be his grave, if it was a curse forming he still had a duty.

It took him roughly 3 minutes to make it to the spot with the cursed energy, he already could tell now it was human, and what he saw was nothing close to a miracle. What was right in front of him by all rights should have been a child's corpse with how much blood had leaked from his head of green hair, a leg twisted at maybe 190 degree then the usual 90 degree resting spot. His back was arched unnaturally but that was beginning to become less and less noticeable. Why? Well it was from the massive amount of cursed energy pouring from this kid and being changed into something he'd only ever read of in texts REVERSE CURSED ENERGY.

This child had somehow on the brink of death unlocked a skill thought to be rarer than finding a hint of what All Might's quirk was. And was unconsciously using it to save himself he couldn't even tell that the kid had an injured spine and his leg was already almost healed! This kid was either a prodigy he never knew of or really really fucking lucky somehow.

It took a full minute for the kid to be fully healed. Truly incredible to watch. Just a few seconds later, when the kid started to regain consciousness, Fujima swore that he would personally train the kid in everything he knew about Jujutsu sorcery.

oOo

The first thing that Izuku realized when he opened his eyes was that he was alive. How did he know? One of the reasons was the large pool of blood under his head and the second one was the pounding headache he had. Izuku was pretty certain neither of those things should be present in either heaven or hell, even if he liked to imagine himself going up rather than down he wasn't the one who decided that.

'H-how am I still alive?' He couldn't even imagine how he'd lived. He wasn't dumb by any means. He knew that he was going to hit the ground head first which was most likely why he had a headache, a really bad one. What he was most confused about was how he lived. If the amount of blood under him was from his head then he most certainly had lost enough to have died by now.

With unfocused eyes he decided to glance up to see how long he'd been… unconscious. Before he could look up at the sky he saw the blurry image of a person standing a couple feet in front of him. He couldn't yet make out details, his eyes were still too clouded. With rapid blinks and a squint he could make out more specific details. What he saw was an unkempt looking man with deep frown lines and greying hair. He wore what Izuku could only call a martial arts gi top, even if it looked heavily modified. With a pouch where a breast pocket should be and more padding around the stomach, he thought he could make out metal.

The stranger wore pants that were a little oversized, most likely it allowed for extra mobility. Even from afar Izuku could almost tell that the pants were of a stronger material than normal cloth. The stranger began to move towards him the sound of his steel toed boots causing the only noticeable sound in the alley. He moved with a certain haste, most likely concerned about him.

The only thing that came to mind when the man stood in front of him was that this man was a hero. He wasn't a spotlight hero or Izuku would have immediately known who he was. So that left this man to be an underground hero, the only group of hero's Izuku didn't extensively know about, they were incredibly secretive. He only knew top underground heroes, the ones forced to make some public appearance due to their accomplishments, and this man fit none of the ones he knew there. Izuku's thoughts had all settled on a clear answer, luckily that was also when the man had opened his mouth to speak. Izuku must have been too absorbed in his thoughts because the man had also kneeled down and was steadying him with an outstretched hand.

"Looks like you're finally able to focus, alright let's try again. How many fingers am I holding up?" the man raised four fingers in front of Izuku's face. He grimaced a little in embarrassment, clearly he had definitely been too absorbed in his thoughts. With a bit of a pause he gathered himself enough to give a clear response, he noted that he had a hoarse voice. "Four sir. You're holding up four fingers."

The man's face softened a little at the response but he continued the questions, "Alright good, let's try another question. What happened to you?"

That was a much harder question for Izuku to piece together. It made him feel hollow and caused guilt to well up within him. However he'd much rather explain to a third party then someone close. With a tight throat and hoarse voice he fully explained to the man what he remembered leaving important parts out. He didn't like All Might greatly anymore but it didn't feel right to spill his biggest secret just to get back at him. He had no reservations about Bakugo anymore, they hadn't been friends for a long time now. The man's face shifted from angry to empathetic; it was weird to see a stranger react that strongly to his plight.

Still his little emotional outburst lasted roughly 2 minutes at which point he was able to fully regain his footing, thanks to the aid of the unknown hero. Carefully the stranger released him. Thankfully Izuku was able to stand just fine now. The stranger took a step back and restarted the conversation.

"Well after that…confession. I think it's more than fair that we exchange names. My name is Fujima, no family name. What about you kid?"

Izuku was a little surprised that an underground hero would give him his real name. 'He must not be well known at all to be that confident to trust me' Izuku would have thought he'd be more hesitant, he was taking too long to respond. After that blunder he responded quickly with "My name is Midoriya Izuku sir! Thankyouforyourconcern!"

"Ok…uh no problem Midoriya. Now, how about we get away from this place" The stranger glances down and it doesn't take much prompting for Izuku to step out of his own pool of blood. He had to agree with Fujima-san that a change might be good . So they both exited the alley out into the afternoon sun. They were greeted with Mt. Lady running down the street to a billowing smoke column two blocks down and to the left. Izuku wasn't sure how she could help, even from here it was obvious the smoke was coming from an alley between two buildings.

Instinctually he started walking toward the incident but before he could get much further he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. Turning around he saw Fujima-san raising his eyebrow at him questioningly. Izuku couldn't help but look away in embarrassment and stuttered his reply. "I-I'm a bit of a hero ne-fan!" he got a chuckle from Fujima-san for the unintended shout.

"That oddly fits you kid" He looks back down the street where Mt. Lady is quickly disappearing around a corner. "You know what, sure let's go check it out." he lightly pushes izuku to keep moving in front but also steadies his uneasy walking with the hand still on his shoulder. He didn't know why he felt so tired but it was most likely from what he'd just experienced.

They arrive in 5 minutes to an utter mess. Mt. Lady is trying desperately to reach into a narrow shopping street in her massive form. By the time Izuku arrives she is clearly done with her last attempt as she pulls away with a barely burned arm. Did she even try or just grab away from the fire? Izuku can see Kamui Woods jump a bit as a burst of fire got too close to him and he backed up from the alley. Backdraft is focusing desperately to keep the fire contained and stop it from spreading out of the alley. Death Arms was standing at the perimeter, arms folded and doing nothing but standing there. What was this?

These heroes were doing nothing now and he could still hear explosions coming from the alley. Izuku looked at Fujima-san and he too looked surprised at the scene before him. Although his face quickly hardened almost immediately as Izuku caught it and he started moving. Izuku could only watch in dawning fright as he walked right up to death arms and asked some questions. Izuku couldn't help but notice the dismissive gestures that death arms used.

It was at this point Fujima-san had brought his hands in front of him in a sideways clap forming an X. Izuku wondered what he was doing using his quirk right in front of a pro hero. Death arms definitely saw the movement and immediately backed away into a defensive stance but before he could yell for the other heroes. A weird mosquito looking creature with noticeably different body parts and mechanical bits zipped straight out of a tear in REALITY ITSELF! The creature zoomed at Death Arms neck and stabbed him, he fell to the ground quickly knocked out.

Izuku rushed over and latched onto Fujima-san's arm, whisper screaming "What are you doing! You just attacked a hero on the scene, you'll be labeled a villain!" He looked at fujima-san's face and what he saw wasn't a face of fear but a face of cold determination.

With strong hands fujima-san grabbed his arm and started to drag Izuku with him "Midoriya, you have a gift, truly a wonderful power, but you need to learn that there are bigger things than worrying about what you're labeled as." He turned down the alley still with izuku behind him, he could feel the temperature spike. "The real world is grey with only some distinctly correct and wrong choices. Right now these 'heroes' made the wrong one."

Izuku could see the destruction everywhere, although oddly enough they looked to be explosion based rather than anything caused by the heroes. Peering his head over Fujima-san's shoulder he saw THE VILLAIN MADE OF SLUDGE FROM EARLIER!? How he had thought All Might had captured it, did a piece of it get away? Did it already easily escape? Did the villain have a twin! WAIT now that he thought about it he remembered All Might was missing the bottle on the rooftop so he…he had to have lost it when he had grabbed onto his leg. That meant… this was his fault.

No that didn't matter right now the villain seemed to be slowly backing away but it was still facing forward. That was when he saw something or rather someone. It was Bakugo his entire lower body was submerged along with most of his upper body and one of his arms desperately reached out. What really terrified him was the look of pure fear in his one uncovered eye that was slowly beginning to roll back into his head.

If izuku were asked to recall this moment in his life he wouldn't have been able to tell you who moved first. Why, well it was because they had moved at almost exactly the same time both him and Fujima-san ran at the villain. The heroes behind them finally realized that they weren't supposed to be there, having been distracted from what Izuku faintly recalled to be calling for backup. Thankfully or unfortunately to most onlookers the heroes were unable to stop them but some rushed after. Namely Kamui woods but he immediately stumbled back when a burst of fire licked his arm and Mt. Lady who had shrunken down and was screaming at them to stop at the entrance.

It was the first four paces in which Izuku's mind actually caught up 'wait WHY AM I RUNNING! WHY CAN"T I STOP! WHAT DO I DO! WAIT PAGE TWENTY FIVE KAMUI'S LACQUERED CHAIN PRISON WAIT BUT I DON'T HAVE MY BACKPACK!'

CLAP*

The abrupt noise startled Izuku, causing him to look over to Fujima-san. He had clapped his hands again in the X cross clap pose from before. Izuku also noted that the mosquito thing from before was trailing him but then another one had appeared from another reality tear. Fujima-san then pointed at the eyes… wait that's right the only solid part izuku had seen on the sludge person were its eyes! Although it looked like Fujima-san was focusing on the villain's eyes so he'd focus on trying to get Bakugo out.

The Villain noticed them but right now he was a little too focused on suffocating Bakugo. It was most likely a drawback from being so far along in the take over. Izuku estimated that the villain would only be able to attack once they got closer. However the villain never had the chance. The reason was that Fujima-san's two creatures had zoomed and pierced one of the sludge villain's eyes. Izuku could tell that the one that had been out longer was noticeably slowing down and that allowed for the sludge villain to shift his other eye to safety.

What Izuku found most odd was that the sludge villain hadn't even made a move to protect himself even against the first one. It was almost like the mosquitoes were invisible. That made no sense he could see them just fine so what was different? Thoughts for later Izuku had to focus.

The staggered sludge villain had released some of its hold of Bakugo. Izuku noticed the tendrils on his face hadn't been removed. 'That could be bad' izuku couldn't help but begin to worry a bit. Even so he had reached Bakugo and began to pull him. The bully wouldn't budge, thankfully when the sludge villain had refocused he focused on Fujima-san rather than himself.

This was his one and only chance to try and save Bakugo. Izuku had to think of something but a quick look around showed that nothing would be of great use. Izuku began to panic 'this is bad really bad there's nothing in reach for me to use! If I move too far the villain might see me! Oh no oh no oh no!'

It would not be until a few days later that Izuku would realize the fear, terror, worry, and small bit of anger he was feeling would be his saving grace. The negative emotions welled up in Izuku allowed his latent cursed energy to unevenly burst forth. Coating him in a faint greenish glow. It was this power that also caused the bones in his hand to rapidly grow and burst out of his skin and form a perfect parallel with the center of his whole forearm and hand.

The sheer pain was overwhelming, forcing Izuku to drop to his knees and cry out. Thankfully the pain was so great no voice came but then it started to dully fade into the background. Izuku's mind was a mess and could barely form even the thought of an explanation as to why this was happening. Even still, now that he had a sharp object his mind focused on the one complete thought he still had. Find something sharp to free his bully.

Thankfully the entire time Izuku had been panicking the sludge villain had been exerting more and more of its body to fight Fujima in a blind rage. This allowed Izuku an easier time of trying to carefully cut the captive blond. He didn't have much time so he had started with the face first cutting off all the slime from around the face and then trying to force the unconscious body to expel the sludge.

Once Izuku was certain the other boy wouldn't die of asphyxiation he started cutting at the left side of bakugo's body hoping he would then just fall right out. Right as izuku was half way through he pulled and actually managed to remove Bakugo's upper torso. Unfortunately the lower half is still stuck in the goop. Izuku couldn't pull him out, he had to start cutting again.

'This is going to take too long, the villain could notice me at any moment!' His panic skyrocketed when the villain suddenly grew bigger by about two times what he was before. Also didn't help that liquid appendages burst out of him. It was then that he noticed the robotic mosquito that was flying in his direction, right towards him.

oOo

Of course this guy just HAD to be made of a liquid. It also didn't help that the guy wasn't evaporating from the fire nor that most of fujima's repertoire was all blunt damage. Best he was doing was annoying the bastard while frantically dodging the ever growing tendrils. He didn't want to kill the guy and even if he did resort to that he wasn't exactly confident any more in how safe both kids would be. This thing was solid enough for his summon not to sink too far into it and big enough to weigh a lot. So he was worried that if he had killed it he'd probably have killed the hostage as well. Lucky he didn't. Also not something to try again until the boys were safe.

Maybe destroying his eye wasn't a good idea. He'd have to call in a favor or two for this whole disaster, that's not going to be pleasant.

Ducking under a wide swing then having to roll out of the way of a smash, Fujima knew he had to think of something. 'God this is tiring' one extreme chase and now this life threatening fight is really taking a toll on him. There was barely anything around him that could help but maybe with the glass debris lying around he could give himself some room to breathe easier, with a little help that is.

With a bare bones idea formed he summoned two more mosquitos with a clap and had them zoom off to get the glass. Running to the side he then had the mosquitos already out fly back to him and got rid of them with another crushing clap. His eyes widened as he had to drop his legs out in front of him to dodge another wide sweep. Lying on the concrete he stared up at the incoming tendril. 'This guy has barely any variation!'

Thankfully the two recent summons came through and with a speed the previous bugs had lost zoomed past him and at the liquid. With a swordsman's precision the insects bisected the incoming appendage. Now left with a manageable blob coming towards him he brought his legs up and kicked it off course. With the same momentum he pushed himself up off the ground.

Surveying the area he noticed midoriya struggling with getting the lower half of the hostage out. He also saw The sludge guy starting to grow bigger. Advancing on both sides of the villain were his summons. Clearly the guy was focusing entirely on him but Fujima doubted Izuku would go undiscovered for much longer. He had to help them fast while still being the distraction.

Redirecting one of his summons to help the kid he began to instruct the other to cut around the villain's remaining eye. Now all he had to do was survive the impending rage. He didn't have to wait long as the villain immediately noticed the first cut and just like he predicted got angry. What he didn't expect was 6 liquid tentacles to burst out of his body and rush towards him. Shit!

oOo

It was only thanks to izuku quickly recognizing Fujima-san's quirk that he didn't freak out further. As the cyborg insect came closer he noticed the shard of glass in its grasp. Izuku was actually a little surprised the bug could hold something at all with its thin appendages. With the new tool coming towards him a sudden idea came to him. Well more like common sense saying two hands are faster than one. Still if he had the bug cut along the other side or bottom he could be done in a matter of moments.

That was if the bug had some strength relative to the speed he saw earlier. The moment it arrived he ordered it to start cutting on the opposite side parallel to where he was cutting. He did not want it to accidentally cut part of the unconscious hostage's arm off, even if Izuku privately couldn't argue that the boy deserved it a little. He might have still been a bit upset after his suicide attempt.

Thankfully the creature understood and with two swift cuts a gash appeared even larger than izuku's own incision. The tension in his body slightly diminished at the creature's capability. 'I might be able to get out of this alive!' was his only thought when guiding the bug to do the same action at bakugo's feet. He frowned a bit when the cyborg bug took 4 cuts to achieve the same result. Was it already losing energy?

Izuku didn't think it mattered much, at least not now when bakugo was only a pull away from being free. Raising his arms to grab the boy, Izuku cringed when he saw the bone white blade piercing his skin and the blood, his blood, still trickling from where it came. Nevertheless he still continued to move his arms around his bully and tug him out.

Thankfully, with the extra lacerations Izuku was able to easily pull the other, heavier, boy out with not much effort. Now his main worry was to escape to safety. Safety as it happened turned out to be a shop with broken windows behind the villains line of sight and body. With the remaining adrenaline in his system he managed to quickly drag himself and his biggest tormentor into the relative safety of the building.

Slowly setting his unconscious burden down on the wooden floor of the destroyed shop. He was able to finally breathe easier knowing that he was now out of immediate danger. Turning back to the alley outside he was able to see Fujima-san finally begin to go on the attack.

The sight itself was amazing with a combination of quirkless nimbleness and quirk summons Fujima-san was putting up one, pardon his language, hell of a fight. Still Izuku couldn't help but wonder why the villain acted like he couldn't see the summons. One was literally buzzing around the villain's head and he still made no indication he even saw nor heard it.

That was a weird quirk. Doubling as a summon and mind manipulation to make them invisible to his foes. Fujima-san was really an impressive underground hero. He couldn't help but notice the other heroes still just watching at the alley entrance. The only one actually doing anything was, still, backdraft. Who had finished putting out the fire near the civilians and was moving on to the deeper fires still going.

His attention was brought back to Fujima-san who by the looks of it now had two more of his summons out and was threatening the villain to stand down. Izuku's eyebrows rose when he heard what Fujima-san was threatening, he was threatening to use lethal force! No normal spotlight hero normally resorted to lethal combat as it somewhat ruined friendly public images. Although one notable spotlight hero stood out, that being the number two hero endeavor who by far had the highest death toll among the listed top heroes. Underground heroes must have followed different rules.

He was brought out of his internal thoughts when the villain launched at Fujima-san with multiple tendrils poised to strike. Fujima-san didn't even move. All he did was close his eyes, sigh, and visibly sag. Izuku saw the summon and a sense of dread befell him. Then if izuku had blinked he'd have missed it the summon zoomed and pierced through the villains remaining eye. The now inanimate sludge dropped to the ground in front of Fujima-san harmlessly having lost whatever influence the villain's quirk had on it.

He knew Fujima-san gave a warning but it was still not something Izuku was prepared to see much less watch in person with a front row seat. He kinda wished he emptied his stomach or showed any kind of reaction but he didn't and he couldn't tell why. His day had been a rollercoaster and he didn't think he'd be ok for a while. Instead he stared in grim silence while the other heroes began to move forward with backdraft.

Once Kamui woods was close enough he visibly tensed and began to speak "I'm of half a mind to restrain you where you stand. Turn around but don't make any sudden moves and answer my questions truthfully."

Fujima-san complied and slowly turned around. His face was neutral but his eyes were downcast. Kamui wood raised his arm splaying his fingers ready to capture. His voice was rough with hints of nervousness "You should be ashamed of yourself heroes do not resort to killing or else we are no better then the evil doers we fight. Now what is your identification, hero name, and reason for interference!"

In response Fujima-san scoffed but made no other aggressive move. After a moment he began to respond "You can find my identification in the government's database. I don't have a hero name. My reason for interfering was your lack of action."

Kamui's posture seemed to become more tense, he probably wasn't expecting a government agent. Neither was Izuku. The nervousness in Kamui's voice lessened after learning that information "If you are part of the government then you have no right or business to interfere in heroic altercations unless you have certifiable proof from the Prime minister or from the local HPSC headquarters! Surrender now, law breaker or we will be forced to make you!"

At that Fujima seemed to wince but he didn't back down "I'm well aware of my limitations. However as a government special agent I'm licensed to be active in any area I'm sent to if my abilities are necessary." he paused for a minute then continued "I deemed your situation in need of urgent and immediate help as you were all unwilling to properly confront the villain!"

What izuku and Kamui woods didn't know was that what Fujima said was only a half truth. He was allowed to operate anywhere he was sent but that only applied to situations regarding cursed spirits not Villains. He could still be held accountable by law if this issue became serious. Although considering the situation he was a little confident that he'd have a good excuse for having bent the rules.

Kamui not really being able to disprove the claim so with great reluctance he lowered his arm. Internally the words did hurt his pride but whatever indignation he felt was overshadowed by his shame. By no means was he under any illusion about his cowardice, unlike some others. Truthfully he would have loved to jump in and save the hostage. There was one glaring issue he had though, that being his extreme phobia of fire. It was his greatest shame that no one knew about and was so bad he couldn't even use a gas stove.

Only after a moment of silence, in which police began to move in to clear the body, Kamui woods remembered another crucial part. With a tone of forced professionalism "What of the child that rushed in after you? Who was he and what is his relation to this incident."

That was an expected question but from what Izuku saw Fujima seemed hesitant to respond to that. With his mind starting to think about it he realized two things. 1st 'WAIT OH KAMI I GOT A QUIRK' and 2nd being 'OH NO WHAT I JUST DID COULD BE CONSIDERED VIGILANTISM'

With the rise of heroes and villains there was also a surge of unlicensed heroic activity. Brought on by the mandatory hero curriculum and tests that needed to be completed to be licensed. Some didn't like these requirements and decided to act regardless of being officially recognized. Over time and the more regulatory and commercial nature that heroes have become, vigilante activity became regarded as a crime.

The punishment for the crime, while not nearly as strict as being charged with villainy, was short jail time, followed by house arrest, and finally being forced to wear an inconspicuous tracking device indefinitely. The last one, while still being debated on its legality, was to ensure no further vigilante acts or else prison would be on the line for second time offenders.

Originally Izuku was worried about the mark put on peoples records that greatly affected most hero high schools enrollment process. It was quickly dashed when he thought about it a few minutes ago. Quickly though it was replaced again by worry about the fine that usually followed, aimed to prevent buying gear again but would be ridiculously expensive for most normal people. That was also heavily debated on its legality.

So distracted was he that he actually missed Fujima-san's reply. It was only until the two had moved over to the building that he began to refocus. Just in time for him to notice Kamui Woods crouching down in front of him. He also noticed the hero's eyes glance at his quirk affected arm.

Slowly the hero brought an arm up, the other reached for bakugo, and started to calmly speak "You're safe now kid, focus on me. Do you need medical attention?"

A shake of his head was all Izuku could muster. His adrenaline was gone and he could barely contain the jitterying mess he was quickly becoming. Kamui seemed to understand but that didn't stop his movements. "Very well I don't see any visible injury so i think you're alright but i'd recommend a check up. Let's get you both out of here, can you stand?"

Izuku, still not being able to talk properly, tried to stand up. He got to a kneeling position before falling forward from shaky with his arm already out stretched caught Izuku before he could face the plant. Embarrassment avoided, Izuku hung limply in the hero's grasp while Fujima-san just stood a bit outside the shop with a neutral expression.

With only a small grunt Kamui Woods lugged Izuku over his shoulder and carried Bakugo in a wooden stretcher. With a moment to look over them both the hero of wood brought both boys outside and closer to the quickly arriving paramedics, izuku also idly noted the arrival of the media.

Kamui Woods brought them out of the alley, immediately heading straight towards the ambulance. Upon reaching them he handed off Bakugo to the paramedics to be looked over and placed izuku down on the curb. Izuku still wasn't confident in his ability to walk yet but he wasn't too worried about that right now. Right now it was time to see what punishment he'd face.

Unfortunately Kamui Woods had to deal with the medics, reporters, and his fellow heroes first. Leaving izuku to uncomfortably sit in unbearable and nerve wracking suspense. Before izuku's thoughts could begin to spiral, a hand landed on his shoulder. A quick turn around revealed the hands owner as Fujima-san, his face tense. That probably wasn't a good sign.

"Look Midoriya, I promise you you'll be fine. This won't greatly affect your life." the man took a moment to, what Izuku could guess, composed himself then continues "But i need you to answer some more questions, that okay?"

Izuku couldn't see why he couldn't, he was basically forced to stay here until the heroes finished. Fujima-san wasn't really a stranger at this point either, at least Izuku didn't consider him one after everything so far. The older man could be trusted until proven otherwise. So he responded with a nod.

"What do you want to do in the future?"

Izuku almost automatically responded that he wanted to be a hero but when he opened his mouth to respond he paused. Why had he paused? Being a hero was all he'd ever wanted to be for as long as he could remember. He had wanted to save people with a smile like….All Might.

He knew why he'd hesitated to respond. After everything he's been through, his whole world rattled by bakugo then shattered to smithereens by All Might himself. He was… lost. "I don't know anymore"

Izuku was grateful Fujima-san didn't press the matter, he seemed to understand it was touchy to say the least. He had neglected to really mention All Might at all back where Fujima had found him. Giving the excuse that his bully had finally broken his resolve. The older man's face did show a little bit of curiosity so that'd probably be addressed later. Part of him hoped they'd never have to talk about it but he'd already told Fujima-san a lot even if it wasn't the whole story. That reasoning led to the other part of him that wanted to vehemently curse bakugo and tell fujima-san everything else he's had to endure.

The older man seemed to pause a bit but eventually Fujima-san slowly asked "How would you like to learn under me?"

"Huh? Learn under you? I'm not quite sure I understand." Why would Fujima-san even want to teach him? Wouldn't he be super busy working for the government. More importantly what would he even teach him if he didn't have a quir– no wait, that's not true anymore. Could that be it , did Fujima-san want to teach him how to use his quirk as an apology for involving him?

"Oh well I guess that was a bit too forward. Allow me to explain then, that power of yours. I want to help you learn how to use it. It's powerful, unnaturally so, and from what I've seen it's a violent manifestation." The man paused looking over the boy's face for his reaction. What he said did make sense. It wasn't like either of his parents' quirks so that meant it was a unique mutation from a dormant quirk gene.

Furthermore what Fujima-san said about how he activated his quirk was right. A quick glance at his arm showed the still protruding bone blade still slowly dripping blood, there was also the pain of how it emerged. What really cemented fujima-san's point in Izuku's mind was that he was still alive. As morbid a thought it was, Izuku couldn't deny that he should be dead but he's not.

Fujima-san continued "My goal is to help you be able to use it. I'm not going to lie to you but from what I've seen. It will be painful, extremely so. I'll also be transparent and say that I also want to offer you a job. You will not be accepting that right now and will only have options until I have more time to explain what it is. Other than that, do you wish to accept my training?"

Izuku didn't know what to say. The man that he'd only known for a little over half an hour. Who happened to be a government agent instead of a hero. The one who found him after his attempt and tried to calm him down. Was offering him a job and to teach him how to use his quirk. Every experience he had so far with the man said to trust him but every thing he's experienced in his life told him not to. He compromised and decided to be skeptically cautious.

It had been four minutes since Fujima-san posed his question and Izuku was still thinking it over. Fujima-san hadn't even complained and didn;t appear at all bothered. If anything, he seemed a little proud that Izuku was giving it serious thought and not jumping into it immediately.

It was only a minute more when Izuku had his answer.

"I would like to be trained under you. I'm open to hearing your job offer as well." Fujima-san didn't relax at Izuku's words, not even a smile. He only responded with a nod. Izuku though wasn't finished. "However, I want to formally tell my mom."

At that Fujima did show a reaction, that being a small smirk. "Of course. We'll talk more when this is over and can speak with your mother tomorrow if you'd like?"

"That should be fine." Unfortunately the new excitement in his chest was almost immediately squashed when he saw a particularly irate Kamui woods walking in his direction. Well it was time to see if he'd live after a third near death experience. Maybe he'd get lucky like with his actual death experience, probably not but he could hope.

Ok First chapter done. Honestly for this story I'm still trying to figure out what direction I want to take it in. I have ideas though. On another note I do plan to be trying to world build. Obviously I do not own mha or jjk but hey that's what fanfic is for.
