Sling rings are found in the Marvel wiki, they're used for interdimensional travel, reality travel and teleporting without a spell. The Ancient One dropped Dr. Strange on Mt. Everest to motivate him figuring out how to use his. 😝

"What happened, Mom?" Buffy gasped, as the wavy area on the floor disappeared.

"Dawn dropped a plate, said ow! and disappeared." Joyce was trying not to panic, but come on! what else was going to go wrong!

"Crap, you don't think her superpowers activated, do you?" Buffy groaned. "She could be anywhere!"

"What kind of superpowers makes wavy -, nevermind, that's not the important part right now." Joyce focused. "Xander and Jenny, one or the other, can get my get baby back home where she belongs! Call them, get them here, maybe Xander has something, anything, that can get Dawn back here!"

"Right, Jenny was going to Xander's to help track any werewolves, she might still be there." Buffy hurried to the phone, having to circle around her mother who wasn't budging from this spot until her baby was back where she belonged. "Why does everything have to go wrong at the same time?" She muttered, as she dialed Xander's number and Cordelia picked up

"When did a phone get into this room?" Cordelia muttered into the phone in the bedroom next to Xander's where she was getting some sleep, after waiting up all night with Jenny, worrying about Willow and Oz. "Nevermind, the Sanctum probably moved it in here, not wanting Xander woke up. Who is this, anyway?"

"It's me, Cordelia." Buffy answered. "We've got a new problem. I think Dawn's superpowers activated, there was this wavy area and she disappeared. We need to find her and fast."

Cordelia banged her head against her pillow, now was not the time for this! "I'll wake Xander and Jenny up, we'll figure out what happened." She promised, sitting up. "Just keep your Mom calm, we'll be there as fast as we can." She hung up and got up, so much for sleep. After dressing quickly, she went across the hall and knocked on the door to the room Jenny had crashed in. When Jenny's sleepy, irritated face appeared after she cracked open the door, Cordelia explained the problem.

"Five minutes." Was all Jenny said before closing the door, Cordelia turned to knock on Xander's door and found...no door.

"Come on, house, I know he needs his sleep! But Dawn needs him too! He'll be so upset if she gets hurt and he wasn't able to help her, you know that!" For a moment, Cordelia thought the Sanctum was going to ignore her and than the door reappeared. "Look, I know you're just doing your job, taking care of him and I'm sure he really appreciates it, but keeping him from helping people, especially people he loves, will make him wither away. He needs to help, it's who he is, so keep that in mind, okay?" She knocked on the door and a few moments later Xander's face appeared as he cracked open his door.

"Yeah? You make no sleep look good." Xander muttered, still half asleep. "How the Hell do you do that?"

"Good genes, wake up fast, Dawnie's superpowers activated and she disappeared, right in front of Joyce!"

"Crap. Did anything happen before she disappeared? It might give me an idea on how to find her."

"Wavy area right in front of her, she disappeared into it."

"That helps, might be a portal of some kind. The sling rings can open portals, if there's something of the portal still there, I could use them to open it again and we can follow her. I need to get dressed, be with you in a few minutes." He closed the door and Cordelia headed for the kitchen where she started a pot of strong coffee, they were going to need it. Jenny joined her soon after, gratefully accepting the cup Cordelia handed her and Xander was right behind her and also accepted a cup.

"The sling rings are in my collection." Xander told them. "I'll use the Eye to check if there is a portal and if there is, I'll use it to open it. It should open right to where Dawn either is or where she went through. If I'm remembering how it works correctly. Who's driving? I'm too tired to try teleporting all of us."

"I am." Jenny answered. "I have more experience driving tired than either of you do." She finished her cup and rinsed it in the sink. "You know, if Dawn can make portals, we may be able to find Willow and Oz, if we can help her figure out how her ability works."

"First we find Dawn, then we figure out the next step." Xander finished his own cup and rinsed it too. "Neither one would ever want us risking Dawn to save them. Superpowers at her age might actually make control easier though, it's puberty that tends to mess with superpowers, at least in the comics."

"In real life too." Cordelia added her cup to the ones in the sink and Xander went to fetch the sling ring, the Eye still on a cord around his neck, before the three headed to Revello Drive to find a lost little sister.
