Beast or Famine
In the Yokohama Chinatown, the Taylor's family, Rex, Zoe, and Reese went to the restaurant where there is a long line.
"This is quite a long line for a restaurant." Aki said.
"We'll end up ordering dinner instead of lunch." Reese said.
"Evidently, we weren't the only who heard about this place on the news last night." Spike said.
"Well, it's not often that Johnny Cook, the traveling chef makes an appearance in Chinatown." Rex said.
"Yeah, and his famous crab and egg fried rice is supposed to be incredible." Max added. "I can't wait!"
"Oh, that fresh crab encased in a golden layer of eggs!" Zoe gushed, thinking about the dish. "I can practically taste it already! I've been dreaming about it all night! Oh, it's gonna taste so good!"
"Cut it out! Talking about it just makes me hungrier." He chided as their dinosaurs walks away from them. "I think even Chomp, Ace, and Paris are looking forward to having some too."
"Too bad, Terran couldn't because Reese had him watched the D-Lab while we're away." Zoe said.
"Well, he's a robot. He can't eat anything." Rex said.
Max then noticed their dinosaurs is not with them.
"Hey, where'd they all go?" He said.
"Oh, oh no!" Rex yelped.
"Maybe they snuck inside!" Zoe said.
In the kitchen, Johnny Cook pours the eggs in the wok and stirs it around and flips it and pours it on the fried rice.
"My masterpiece!" He said.
The chefs applauded as the card capsule was shown on the egg basket. Johnny Cook turns out it's the same old man from the ninja village, Bali, Paris, and in downtown.

In the restaurant, Ace sneaks in and saw the roast.
"Delicious!" The woman said, but Ace got on the table they're in. "AAHHH!"
Rex comes and take Ace away from here.
"Ace! It's okay! Sorry about that!"
In the restaurant's waiting room, Paris was wandering around the waiting room until she was noticed by a girl.
"Oh, what a cute doggy." She said.
"Say goodbye of it, dear. We have to go." Her mother said.
"Okay, bye little… huh?"
Zoe quickly snatched Paris away.
"I'm sorry but she doesn't do very well around strangers." She said.
Somewhere in the restaurant's food storage, Chomp was wandering in there as he sniffed for food.
"Okay, so he wants the freshest meat we have." The chef then noticed Chomp is in there. "Huh? Are you on the menu?"
Max then rushed in and found Chomp.
"You don't want him! He doesn't taste good at all!" He panicked.
A few minutes later, the group finally made it in the restaurant after the long line and sat in the table as the D-team hid their dinosaurs under the table.
"Now don't wander off again, you guys." Max scolded them.
"You could get in trouble." Rex said.
"Or get us in trouble." Zoe added.
Their dinosaur bowed their heads in shame.
The waitress walked towards them with the order tray.
"All right, here we are! So who's ready to try some delicious golden crab and egg fried rice from Johnny Cook?"
"I am!" Max beamed.
"Don't forget. He who paying gets to dig in first." Spike said.
"Oh."
In the kitchen, Johnny Cook grabs the card capsule and opens it. The cards came out and flew in the fire, causing them to glow as the chef is startled.
In the dining area, Max gave their dinosaurs a small of their meals.
"Here some food for you guys."
Their dinosaurs was looking forward to eat it.
"Where did Mrs. Taylor and Reese go?" Rex asked, looking around.
"They went to the ladies room." Zoe said.
"I sure wish they'd hurry up." Spike said.
"Oh, they won't mind if we start without them." Max said. "And now…"
"Let's chow down!" They all said.
Before they eat, a dinosaur called, Mapusaurus, burst out of the kitchen and roared, causing everyone to panic and run for their life. Max and the others yelped and took cover in the other table as the Mapusaurus stomps on their meals and table that they're in before crashing outside of the restaurant.
"A Mapusaurus!" Spike said.
"And it knocked my golden crab and egg fried rice on the floor!" Max exclaimed.
"Forget that, Max! We have to stop it before it destroys the city!"
"Oh, right!"
They ran outside to stop that dinosaur.
At D-Lab, Terran was feeding Wisp with the food that he likes as well as the other secret dinosaurs.
"I wonder how Max and the others are doing." He said, "He's probably eating this Johnny Cook's meal by now."
As he watches them eating the food, his wrist control alarmed him.
"Huh?" He checked it. "A dinosaur in Chinatown? That's where Max and the others are."
Terran then turned Wisp and the others into a cards. "Come on, you guys!"
He left the D-Lab and turns into a flight mode before taking flight and headed to Chinatown.
In the restaurant, Reese and Aki got back from the restroom, but only to find that the restaurant is in a disaster state.
"My goodness!" Aki said, "What could have happened here?"
In Chinatown, Mapusaurus used the Fire Cannon move and fires the fireball as the people ran for their lives. The dinosaur crashed through the walls while the D-Team found it.
"We gotta hurry and get it back into the card." Zoe said.
"Yeah, before it does much more damage to Chinatown." Rex said.
"That's not all it's damaged!" Max snapped. "It damaged my lunch! I didn't even get a bite of my crab and egg fried rice! Let's go, Chomp!" He Chomp into the card and zaps it to his hand. "Dino Slash!" He swipes the card to the stone. "Go Triceratops, Roar!"
Max summons Chomp in full-sized Triceratops.
"All right, Chomp! Now go and stop that Mapusaurus!" Max told it.
Chomps charges after it, but Chomp instead runs to a pile of cabbages in a nearby broken building, as hungry as Max.
"What? Chomp, where are you going?"
"That building must be a food storage and he's going after that." Rex said, "Okay. It's up to us now, Ace." Rex turns Ace into the card and zaps to his hand. "Dino Slash!" He swipes the card on his holder. "Carnotaurus, Blow them away!"
Ace is summoned in full-sized Carnotaurus.
"Get him, Ace!" Rex told him.
Ace charges after Mapusaurus, but he instead runs to a room full of hanging meat, also hungry.
"Oh no! They're as hungry as us." Rex sighed. "This won't be easy."
"Hey kids!" They turned to Terran running towards them. "There's a dinosaur here in Chinatown."
"Yeah, Mapusaurus and its destroying the storage." Rex said.
"But Chomp and Ace couldn't because they were hungry as us." Max said.
The android sees the dinosaur in the end.
"Well, it's a good thing I fed Wisp since he couldn't fight with his empty stomach." Terran said, turning Wisp into a card and zaps to his hand. "Dino Slash!" He swipes the card to his controller. "Brachiosaurus, Shine your way!"
Wisp is summoned in full-sized Brachiosaurus.
"All right then, we'll show you how its down!" Zoe turned Paris into the card and zaps it to her hand. "Go! Dino Slash!" She swipes the card on her holder. "Go Parasaurolophus, Bloom!"
Paris is summoned in full-sized Parasaurolophus.
Mapusaurus noticed Wisp and Paris and fires the fireball at them, who sidestepped from the attack, but the attack scorches the food that Chomp and Ace were distracted by, sending them into a rage.
Meanwhile, Seth detects the dinosaur signal in Chinatown.
"Rod, Laura, come look!" He called them. "There! Another dinosaur sighted."
"All right!" Rod said.
"Let's go!" Laura said.
"Rod and Laura, reporting for Alpha Gang Duty." They said.
"Good luck." Seth said.
The two kids heads to the hanger and took the Alpha jet. They launched out of the hanger and headed to the Chinatown.
At Dr. Z's room, Ed read the storybook to Dr. Z while Zander massage his foot.
"And then the big bad wolf said to the little pig: "I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in"." Ed readied the story.
"Why didn't he use a dinosaur to knock the house down?" Dr. Z said.
"Huh?
"How does he expect to catch a bunch of pigs by blowing on them? This is the dumbest story I've ever heard."
"Most people know the story and don't tend to question the wolf's strategy, you know." Zander said, rubbing his foot.
"Argh!" Dr. Z kicked him. "You're rubbing my foot, not tenderizing a steak!"
"Dr. Z, I have a delicious lunch here for you." Ursula said, coming in with the meal. "There you go!"
"I don't want it!"
"What?"
"Every day it's the same boring thing. Well, I want something different! I want a corn dog!"
"Stop whining like a little child." Helga said, sternly as she appeared in the doorway.
"I can't help it." Dr. Z moped. "How am I supposed to get better if my food doesn't make me happy?"
"Hmm. All right then. I'll give a special topping on your porridge."
"Okay."
Helga walked to the bed and open the bowl and added the radish in the porridge.
"A boiled radish! Thank you! Thank you!" Dr. Z beamed as Helga blow a hot porridge.
"Eat up." Helga feeds him as he eats it.
"So good!"
The Alpha Gang was in disbelief at his changed outburst since their methods didn't work out.
At Chinatown, Rod and Laura arrived as the battlefield took place.
"Look Laura! There's the dinosaur!" He said, spotted the dinosaur.
"I'll set us down! Are you seeing this, Seth?" She said.
From Zeta Point, Seth can see it as well.
"A Mapusaurus." He muttered before the Alpha Gang walks in.
"Dr. Z is even more unreasonable than ever if possible." Zander said.
"He even criticized my bedtime story." Ed said.
"We could use a mission just to get away from him." Ursula sighed before seeing Seth. "Hey, why didn't you say there was a dinosaur, Seth?"
"Oh… well. This Mapusaurus just appeared in Chinatown." He said.
"No way! The Chinatown?"
"Who cares about the location? This is our chance to get away from Dr. Z!" Zander said.
"I know! But when I hear Chinatown, all I can think about is a giant plate of Squid Jerky!" She said, making them face faulted.
Back in Dr. Z's room, Helga finished feeding Dr. Z as she puts away the dish.
"How are my grandchildren, Helga?" He said, "I assume you're making sure they stay caught up with their homework."
"They have done no homework for days now." She said.
"What?"
"Seth has been sending them out on missions to capture dinosaurs for you almost every day lately."
"That's what Ursula and her lunkheads are supposed to do!" Dr. Z exclaimed that he never send his grandchildren on the mission.
"So, these missions were not on yours orders, doctor?"
"Of course not!"
"Right, of course not!" She said as she had a very suspicion about this mission.
Back in Chinatown, Chomp and Ace relentlessly attack Mapusaurus for burning their food.
"What's gotten into Chomp and Ace? I've never seen them so upset." Terran said, noticing their behavior.
"Yeah, they look a lot angrier than usual." Zoe said.
"You'll be anger too if you found a great meal and then someone scorched it in front of you." Rex exclaimed.
"That's nothing, Chomp!" Max said, "I lost out on a delicious bowl of fried rice, that I've been looking forward to for a long time, you know!"
Zoe sighed, "Will we ever hear the end of it?"
"All this over that Johnny Cook meal, Max." Terran sighed.
"Can we just focus on dinosaurs for now?" Rex sighed as well.
They charge and leap at Mapusaurus relentlessly until it manages to knock them away, sending Chomp into the Goodwill Gate.
"Oh no!" Max said. "Are you all right, Chomp?"
"Be careful, we don't want to damage the Chinatown more." Terran said.
Rod and Laura shows up to see them.
"Well, look who it is." He said.
"Is it okay if we join the party?" Laura asked.
Before they summoned their dinosaurs, they were ensnared by a delicious scent and follows it.
"That smells good." She said.
Somewhere in Chinatown, Dr. Taylor was in the middle of the street, looking for the kids.
"Hey kids! Did you find the dinosaur?" He shouted, "I should have just stayed and finished my meal."
He begins to sobbed.
In the other side of Chinatown, Aki and Reese was trying out the new restaurant.
"Here you are, ladies." The waiter gives them an order.
"This is Tapioca I told you about." Aki said, "The best in all of Chinatown."
"How much Tapioca have you eaten?" Reese asked.
"Oh, scoff if you like, but first you should at least try it."
'I'm not sure this is what I should be doing right now. Oh well.' She thought before sipping the Tapioca. "Woah, that is good."
"See?"
As they enjoy their meal, Mapusaurus just passed by them.
"Makes you feel like there's not a care in the world." Aki said.
In the middle of ocean, Helga ran across the ocean as fast as she could to take Rod and Laura back after learning that Dr. Z didn't send his grandchildren on this mission.
Upon arriving the Chinatown, the Alpha Gang crash landed in the building and they slumped out of plane.
"Another perfect landing." Ed said,
"Squid," Ursula said before the searched the whole kitchen. "A kitchen like this has to have some squid jerky here somewhere."
"I found some cheese that smells like feet. Will that work." Zander said.
"Jackpot! I found some that it's huge!" She beamed, found what she was looking for.
"Well, that ought to keep you fed for a while." Zander said.
"I just thought of something. I should take it back and share it with Dr. Z." Ursula said.
Mapusaurus shows up behind her and ate the Squid Jerky before leaving as Ed and Zander yelped.
"My beautiful Squid Jerky! Gone! I was looking so forward to eating you." She sobbed as Terran, the kids and their dinosaurs is chasing the Mapusaurus
"Stop, you lunch thief!" Max shouted.
"Calm down, Max!" Rex said.
"There's no need to get angry over the meal!" Terran said.
"What's this old lady doing in the way?" Zoe said, noticing the Alpha Gang.
"How dare you call me old!?" Ursula growled.
"She didn't mean you." Zander said, calming her down.
"She meant the other old lady crying over a squid." Ed said.
"Now that you mention it, We need to find another one right away!" She ran off to find another Squid Jerky.
At the destroyed restaurant, Rod and Laura found the source of scent and found Johnny Cook in the kitchen, who is cooking something.
"Yummy!" Laura sniffed
"Let's go see what he's making." Rod said.
Johnny Cook is flipping the rice in the wok as the kids is peeking by him.
"Hey, is that crab and egg fried rice?" He asked.
"Looks great." She said.
Suddenly, the wall was crashed and Helga skidded to stop as they see her.
"Helga!"
"What are you doing here?"
"It's time to get back to your studies!" Helga said, firmly. "Come with me!"
"Oh!" Rod said.
"Not yet!" Laura begged. "We can't go until we tasted this crab and egg fried rice, please!"
"When we get home, I'll make you my crab and egg fried rice which is far superior anyway." She said.
Johnny Cook tensed up. "What? Do you actually think you can outcook Johnny Cook?"
"Mhm."
"I'm afraid you might have that bun of yours pulled too tight, but if that's what you claim, you've left me no choice but to challenge you to a duel!"
Rod and Laura felt the tension between them.
In the streets, Mapusaurus keeps running from them as they chased it.
"You guys! I think we should split up and try surrounding Mapusaurus!" Rex suggested.
"Good idea!" Max agreed.
They reached the intersection cross road
"Now's our chance! Split off here!"
"Right!"
"Okay!"
They split up as they went different roads to head the dinosaur off.
In the kitchen, they begin making a special dish for Rod and Laura, but Johnny Cook couldn't help but noticed her way of cooking.
'Where did she learn to handle the wok like that?' He thought as she stirs it hard. 'Look at her go! It's possible she actually knows what she's doing. She's like a machine. I could be in trouble after all.'
Ace and Rex is chasing the Mapusaurus.
"Okay, Zoe?" He called as Paris and Zoe appeared from the corner.
"Leave it to me!" She said.
"All right! Good luck!"
As they cook, the stove's flames begins to die down.
"Oh, I think we're running out of gas for the fire!" He said.
"What kind of sneaky trick are you pulling? I need a much larger flame!" She said, trying to turn up the heat.
The Mapusaurus roared and begins fire its Fire Cannons at both Ace and Paris, who evade it attacks.
"Fire! I need more fire!" He said as the attack scorched them both. "Yeah, that's more like it."
"I could use even more!" Helga said.
They don't seem to be bother by the flames as they cook harder. Once they finish making it, they served their meals to Rod and Laura.
"Enjoy children!" Helga said.
"Enjoy mine more!" Johnny Cook said.
"Wow!" They awed at their food. "This looks great. Today is our lucky day."
Back in the battlefield, Mapusaursu was cornered as Terran, the kids, and their dinosaurs surrounded the dinosaur.
"You can't get away now! I just have to get you back in your card and I can go eat!" Max opens his Dino Holder, but ejects all the move card instead.
"Max, come on! We're losing him!" Zoe yelled.
"I know!" He picks up the cards as he can while Chomp head locked the Mapusaurus until he was knocked away. "I'm picking them up as fast as I can!"
The dinosaur leap over him to get away.
"Hey, wait! You're not getting away after you took my rice from me!"
He ran after it as Seth was hovering over the Chinatown on Alpha aircraft.
In the wreaked restaurant, the kids finished their meal.
"Okay, we're ready to decide." Rod said, "Now both are great."
"Mhm." Laura nodded.
"But the winner is…" They said as they waited for their decision and pointed at… "Helga and her wok of fury!"
Johnny Cook gasped as Helga was pleased about it.
"Now it's time for us to head home." Helga said.
"Aw!" They left the table and headed back to the Alpha Jet as Johnny was feeling defeated.
"I failed. But how?" he said.
Helga held out the dish she made. "Take a bite und see for yourself."
Once he tasted the crab and egg fried rice, it tasted more delicious than his dish.
"Incredible! I surrender my spatula. I am defeated." He kneels down.
As Rod and Laura heads to their jet, Seth appears behind them.
"Rod? Laura?" He called.
"Hey!"
"Oh, hi Seth!"
"Where are you two going?" He asked.
"Oh, Helga says we have to go home now and get back to our studies." Rod said.
"I'll explain the situation to Helga. You two worry about capturing Mapusaurus." Seth assured.
"All right!"
"That sures beats studying, doesn't it?"
"Let's go!"
"Thanks Seth!"
They ran off to capture the Mapusaurus as Helga shows up behind him.
"Let's talk." Seth said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Z was left all alone with everyone else left as his stomach growled.
"What is everyone trying to do here? Starve Me? I should have been served dinner hours ago!" Dr. Z yelled. "Helga? Seth? I haven't eaten since lunch and I'm getting cranky here! You won't like me when I'm cranky! Ursula, Zander, or Ed!"
He tried yelling, but nobody is around and feeling lonely until his beard is tugging and sees Terry.
"Oh, Terry! I can always count on you!" He hugged him. "Now show me some love."
Terry opened his jaws and bit his arm.
"AAHHHHH!" He screamed and heard his stomach is growling as well. "I guess you're hungry too, little guy. Ouch."
Back in the battle, Zoe activates the dino-holder, causing the move card to shoot up and caught it.
"Metal Wing!" She slashed the card.
Three Pteranodons flies up in the air and dives toward the Mapusaurus, slicing it.
"Thunder Ba…!" Max begins
"Not so fast!" the voices interrupting him from activating his attack.
"That's no fair stopping me mid-attacking." He said.
"Not you two again." Rex frowned as he sees Rod and Laura.
"We just had the most delicious food ever." He said, rubbing his belly.
"Now we're full and ready to catch our dinosaur." Laura said.
"Here we go!" They slashed the cards in their Alpha Scanners.
"Come on, Spiny!" Spiny was summoned in full-size Spinosaurus.
"Let's do it, Tank!" Tank is summoned in full-size Saichania
"Why don't you just stay out of our way?" Zoe snapped.
"Anyway, that dinosaur isn't yours. It's ours!" Res said.
"That's right And we have to hurry and capture it now so we can get back to the restaurant for our crab and egg fried rice." Max said.
"Crab and egg fried rice?" Rod said.
"What a coincidence!" Laura said, "That's what we just ate."
"And it was the best food you ever had?"
"The best food on the planet!"
"Oh yeah?" Max glowered as Chomp snarled.
"Huh?" Rod said, noticed his anger.
"What's wrong with you?" Laura asked.
"You had crab and egg fried rice and I haven't even tasted it yet? This is the last straw!" Max then snapped as Chomp roared, furiously.
"Whoa!" Terran yelped from their anger.
"Take it easy, you guys!" Rex said, trying to calm them.
"He and Chomp become more alike every day." Zoe said.
"That does it!" Max opens the Dino Holder and pops out the move card before catching it. "Thunder Bazooka!"
Chomp jumps in the air and spins around as he gathers the electricity around his body while shot forward and rammed both Spiny and Tank, defeating both of them.
"Huh, he took them both out at the same time!" Zoe gasped, astonished.
"Incredible, they both think alike." Terran said.
"Whoa, that was fast." Rod said.
"The battle's over already?" Laura said.
"You should never get between Max and his food. It's extremely dangerous." Rex remarked as Max chuckled.
At the harbor, Seth and Helga was discussing privately about Rod and Laura.
"You don't know what you're talking about." He said, lying. "Rod and Laura have been sent on these missions by Dr. Z himself with instructions to capture dinosaurs. To interfere with that, for the sake of homework is to directly disobey his orders."
"That's a nice story, Seth but I have happened to know it is you who are disobeying his orders." Helga said, firmly as Seth was taken back a bit. "Dr. Z told me himself that he never sent the children on these missions!"
"Hmm…" He narrowed his eyes.
"Protecting Rod and Laura is my primary function und you are using them for your own purpose. I'm taking both of them home immediately! Goodbye!"
She walked away to get the kids back to home as Seth stood there, menacingly.
'You shouldn't have interfered, Helga. Now you know too much. I won't let you disrupt my plans.'
"Good grief! For once I wish that people for-Argh!" She yelped as her system was electrocuted by Seth, who shocked her.
'Very well, Helga.' He said, mentally as Helga was dropped to the ground as her whole system is shutdown.
Max opens the dino-holder and pops out the move card before catching it. "Lightning Strike!" He slashed the move card.
Chomp fires the lightning from his horns at Mapusaurus and defeating it as it turns back into a card.
"All right!"
"There you are!" They turned to see his parents and Reese. "Hi kids!"
"Hey dad!" Max went over and picks up the cards. "Yes! Now I can finally go and sink my teeth into that crab and egg fried rice!"
Rex, Zoe, and Terran sighed flatly at Max's enthusiastic over a meal.
When they got back to the restaurant, the sign on the door says that they're closed until next year.
"No way!" Max cried, shocked.
"Well, just think Max. Next year, it'll be much better." His dad assured.
On their way back, Seth, Rod and Laura carried the Alpha Gang on the swings since their plane crashed.
"We went all the way to Chinatown for nothing." Ed said. "Not even one morsel."
"Not True! I grabbed a little something!" Zander pulls something from his coat.
"Oh, more squid jerky!" Ursula beamed before patting his back "Oh Zander! Way to go! I can't wait to eat it!"
It was short-lived as the seagull snatched the squid jerky away and they yelled.
"Hold on, what happened to Helga?" Rod asked, wondering where Helga is.
"Weren't you just with her a few minutes ago, Seth?" Laura added.
"She said she had some business to attend to in Chinatown." Seth lied. "I suspect she'll catch up with us later."
"Goodbye, Chinatown!" Ed and Zander said.
"Goodbye, Squid Jerky!" Ursula sobbed.
As they headed back to Zeta Point, Johnny Cook or the old man is on board the cruise ship as he was traveling.
Below in the cargo was inactive Helga as she was in shutdown for a while. Not even Laura and Rod would never know when will she come back.
