Thanks for the suggestions on who to use along with Tim for the spell.

And I'm ignoring movies post the first Avengers one, just picking what I want to include.

Chapter 3

Tim closed his eyes, leaning against the tiles as the hot water poured over him. When was the last time he'd just been able to relax with water? Gotham had been hit hard and early in the war; the infrastructure badly damaged. Sure, his Nest had water, but not unlimited hot. He'd been stuck with three-minute showers since the city was hit.

This man must really trust the King, to just take Tim in at his asking, giving him a room immediately. From what the King had said and then the way Tony called this place Avengers Tower…was Tony one of the local heroes? And they lived in a tower? He hadn't gotten a look out the windows, didn't know where the tower was located and even if he had seen, there was no guarantee they had the same cities or countries as his Earth.

When he finally emerged in a cloud of steam it was to find clean clothes folded on the bed. He removed his towel and dressed, the clothing was pretty close to a perfect fit, simple but very high end. Brand new black jeans and a red t-shirt, there were even some shoes tucked in the corner but he left them since he didn't plan to leave the floor he'd been led to.

Tony had said it was a communal floor, for non-permanent residents.

"Well, you look a bit less dead," Tony commented as Tim walked into the main area. "Now, tell me honestly, how much have you been eating? Need to know if we need to treat you like you're coming off starvation or not."

Tim grimaced. "I've been eating, just…not a lot. Foods getting harder to come by, especially since I couldn't leave the Nest without risking being found. But John could teleport so he went on supply runs. It just…wasn't important. This was meant to kill me anyway." He shrugged.

"Right then," Tony muttered.

Tim followed him to find a very nice kitchen., Alfred would approve. And soon a bowl was passed to him, soup with meat and vegetables in it, not canned either.

"Don't worry, I didn't make it."

"Tony? What are you doing down here, I didn't think…oh, hello," a tall blond man greeted when he saw Tim.

"Steve Rogers, Tim Drake. He'll be staying here for a while, Phantom sent him. He needed a safe place to stash the kid."

"Not a kid," Tim grumbled, taking a mouthful of soup.

"You're under twenty-one, therefore a kid," Tony shot back.

,

Steve studied the young man that Danny had apparently sent to them. He looked…tired, the kind of soul deep tired that he'd seen a lot of during the war. And he was skinny, there was muscle there, but he was far too skinny. He must be alive if Danny had sent him to them rather than keep him safely in the Realms. And it seemed Tony had already taken the young man under his wing, much as he had with Peter.

The way he moved and watched the room…reminded him of Natasha and even Bucky. And that…that made him angry. No child should undergo such training, and he would have been a child when trained.

"So, how long will you be with us?"

"I don't know," Tim answered, his accent was curious. Definitely American, eastern, but not entirely familiar either, though with the subtle tell that came from high society. "The King has some things to sort out."

"He better sort them out," Tony muttered, too low for standard human hearing, and that had Steve on alert. Tony shook his head ever so slightly, something to speak of in private or with the team but not their guest.

"So what do you do, Tim? University?"

"I am… was co-CEO of Wayne Industries before the war. I'm also Red Robin, one of the bats."

"The bats?"

"Right, different world," Tim muttered. "The King said you've got heroes and Tony said this is Avengers Tower as if that's important."

"Ah, forgot that. I'm Iron Man, Steve's Captain America."

"Right. We have the Justice League. Batman was one of the founders. I started out as the third Robin, his sidekick. Became Red Robin when I was seventeen."

"How old were you when you became Robin?" Tony asked, voice tight, not that Steve blamed him.

"Thirteen." Tim shrugged. "It was actually safer considering I'd been following Batman and Robin around since I was nine. Not that they knew that," he smirked even as he grabbed the offered cup of coffee.

"You were…why? Where the hell were your parents?"

"Travelling." Tim shrugged. "I worked out their id's and started following them, it wasn't that hard considering I lived next door."

"You were just a kid," Tony was mad, but Steve was a bit more understanding.

He'd lived through a World War, had seen kids signing up too young. How many times had he tried before Erskine had taken a chance on him? He'd been old enough sure, but a lot of kids hadn't been.

"I'm from Gotham," Tim shot back as if that was an answer.

"Gotham?" he asked, curious, and Tim blinked.

"You don't have Gotham here?"

"Friday, map of the US please," Tony called and the hologram appeared.

Tim studied it and then pointed to an area in New Jersey. "Gotham's built over several islands connected by bridges…they should be there."

"Interesting."

Tim's accent didn't sound very New Jersey but a city they didn't know might have developed slightly different speech patterns. Doing this kind of work since he was thirteen…parents travelling enough to not notice? Poor kid.

,

Jason fought the urge to pace; he didn't have the legal or magical knowledge to help with the spell that Constantine and Tim had created. There was nothing he could do but offer to run errands and help keep their forces under control as they pulled back a bit from the war.

It was a relief, knowing why his family had gone mad and chosen to side with the GIW. It wasn't their fault. If Klarion hadn't protected Tim's mind years ago…they may never have found out since the interference didn't last past death. It meant it had been right to not reach out to any of them to try and work things out, they wouldn't have been able to do anything other than fight the war.

He was scared about the effects of the spell though. The Lazarus Pits would be included which was great for dealing with Ra's…but not so good for him. He'd been badly brain damaged when he came back, without the Pit's effects he likely never would have recovered enough to live a normal life let alone be a vigilante again. So, if they used the spell…would he go back to that? Or would being in the Realms spare him, leave him as he was now? He wasn't a halfa or ghost but he was more than liminal now. He was a Revenant but so long in the Realms had made him more than that. He was King Phantom's Knight now.

,

"Fright Knight," he called quietly.

The spirit of Halloween silently appeared, waiting for orders.

"Find Plasmius and bring him to me."

"Yes, my King." And with that he was gone.

Danny really hoped he was wrong about what he had sensed in the attempted touch on Tim's mind. Vlad had been quiet for years, ever since Maddie…he'd hoped the other halfa was finally just moving on and living his life. It seemed he might have been wrong though.

He pulled out his Fenton phone and sent a message to Tucker, informing the Fraid of Tim's presence and the reason for it. They could keep watch from a distance, make sure he remained safe and no one interfered with him.

,

Billy hated what was happening, he'd run, pushed on by those who gave him his powers. the wisdom of Solomon had basically just said get out! He hadn't wanted to just leave everyone but no one wanted to listen. Knowing why made things better, he had been horrified to think they had all been so mistaken about the others.

There were few beings powerful enough to affect so many minds, especially the strong one of the Justice League, other heroes and even Rogues. And sooner or later, they were likely to attempt to extend their reach beyond the US. They had to find a way to end this…without wiping Tim from existence. The very idea made him feel sick, Tim was only a few years older than him, it wasn't fair.

The only seemingly usable idea was to add others to the spell, spread out the consequences. But how could they find people who would be willing to die to end the war? Most outside the US didn't care, it was an American issue and nothing to do with them as far as they were concerned. Billy would volunteer but that was impossible, he was too touched by magic and had been for years. It was the same for their whole group. People who had family trapped in the US maybe?

,

Bruce watched as Tony fretted over the kid that Danny had sent them. Word of why he was with them had quickly spread throughout the group and it was horrifying, someone so young yet willing to be wiped out of existence to save his world… he had a lot in common with Danny, not that he'd likely ever know that.

He could see Tasha watching him as well, her eyes wary, calculating. And he knew why, he could see it in the way the young man moved. He might not actually be an assassin….but he had the training. The young man was wary of them as well, exhausted, and haunted but who could blame him?

And then there was the familiar rushing noise and boom of thunder.

"MY FRIENDS!" Thor called boisterously.

,

Tim heard the rushing noise, a boom of thunder following…magic? He tensed, pressing back defensively into a corner. And then a large man was there, dressed in…armour? Long blond hair, loads of muscles and a hammer? And did he not know what an inside voice was?

"Thor, welcome back," Steve greeted the man.

Thor? That was an interesting name, very old fashioned…but so was the armour he wore.

And then he was being introduced to the man. "Tim, this is Prince Thor of Asgard. Thor, this is Tim Drake, Red Robin. He's from another Earth and was sent here by King Phantom."

Asgard… "Norse mythology?"

"Was based on the real deal," Tony answered.

"Welcome to Midgard, young dragon."

Things were certainly lively with the god of thunder back from Asgard. An actual god? That bit was a little confusing. He knew the Greek gods were around back home, Zeus was Cassie's dad after all, but to have one on the team?

The Avengers were a team in a different way to the JL. They actually lived together mostly, they came and went, did their own things too, but they all had rooms in the Tower and a compound somewhere else. And there was some kind of Agency connected to them, SHIELD. Except it was being rebuilt or something. The original group had formed thanks to an alien invasion almost ten years ago but had expanded since.

Going through the records, he was shocked to find mentions of the GIW. What were the odds of that? Except in this world, they were disbanded and tried for their crimes instead of supported. Some of the methods the agency used were the same, but others were different. So maybe it was just a coincidence?

,

Getting Tim into the lab was fun, the boy was a genius. So, he called Peter over and the two quickly bonded, Tony leaving them to it. He was good with tech but he also had a skillset their team lacked, detective skills. He'd gone over a file that had Clint stuck and had solved the whole thing in an hour. Honestly, he fit in so well…Tony wished the kid could stay forever. Better a life with them then dying to save his own world, but he knew Tim wouldn't agree.

,

"Jay?" Tim's voice came over the line, and Jason relaxed.

"Hey Timbit," he greeted. "How's everything going over there? They treating you well?"

"They keep trying to stuff me with food," he grumbled, and Jason laughed but he was glad to hear it. Seeing how thin he'd become had really freaked him out.

"Good, you need it."

"Meanie," Tim shot back and he could hear the pout there. "They have a team, the Avengers. They're really different to the Justice League. They actually live together a lot. Most of them are closer to B's age but there's a guy the same age as me, he's a meta…they call them mutants or mutates here. He got bitten by a genetically altered spider and it gave him powers, he uses the name Spiderman. Since his powers aren't natural to him, he's considered a mutate. He's brilliant, he made his own gear before the Avengers found out about him and took him on. We've been playing in the lab a lot."

Jason smiled as he listened, hearing the happiness in Tim's voice. It definitely beat how stressed and unstable he'd seemed when he arrived in the Throne room.

"So…how are things there?" Tim asked hesitantly.

"I'm running errands for everyone doing the research. They seem to be onto something promising. We're going to figure this out Timmy."

"Even if they can't, none of it is your fault, this is my choice."

Jason closed his eyes. He hated the Drakes…and their own family. He knew they'd all played their roles in Tim's lack of self-worth and willingness to sacrifice himself. Sure, they were all like that but Tim took it to the extreme. "They're close to something that would only kill you, then you could stay here with us," Jason assured him.

Jason would stay with him. The family would continue without him easily enough. It might not be safe for him to go back anyway if the Lazarus Pits were really erased.

"Are you worried about what will happen to you?" Tim asked softly.

"As long as I'm here when the spell happens, I should be fine." Of course, Tim had realised the risk to him. But he wasn't the only one. With no Lazarus Pits, Ra's would not have lived so long which meant Talia…

"And Damian?" Tim asked, this time his voice a little shaky.

He'd hoped Tim hadn't realise. Going through with this could save trillions and mean that Bruce's son was never born. The League of Assassins might not even exist in their time, if it did, it would have a different leader. Which meant Bruce's training would be different, the same with Cass. She would likely be okay, her parents weren't tightly connected to the League, they were mostly independent.

"King Phantom tried three times to fix this with normal time travel but it never stuck," he admitted. This spell seems to be the only way Tim, if Damian knew…he's Robin, he'd agree to the price."

"Yeah," Tim murmured.

When he first joined the family, Damian would never have agreed to it. He was so sure of his place and role in things. But now he understood what it really meant to be Robin, to fight for others.

"I miss you."

"Miss you too baby bird."

,

Dick stood on a rooftop, staring at the ruined building. Timmy… he missed his little brother so much. How much better would the war be going with his brilliant mind behind their plans? Though, they were at least sure that even if Tim was dead, he wasn't helping the Ghosts, there was no sign of his kind of plans there. Not everyone who died became a Ghost so if Tim was dead then hopefully, he had fully moved on. He didn't want to think that both his brothers were being held captive by the Ghosts. The GIW said after so long exposed to ectoplasm, it would have changed them. But with no sightings of them, it gave the family hope that they could come home one day.

,

"Hey Friday, how's the guest?"

"Tim Drake is doing well, Tucker. Dr Banner is happy with the weight he is gaining and the food he is eating. He is spending time in the labs with the boss and Peter."

Tucker nodded, checking the data she sent. They had all been worried about the war and the toll it was taking on Danny as King. Knowing one of the heroes had chosen another path, had offered his entire existence to end it…well, it was a very Danny thing to do. Which would make it harder for Danny to accept if they had to use the original form. Danny would hate doing that to someone else, he was always the one to try and make the sacrifice.

That was why his getting involved with the Avengers had scared them. But Danny had faced Thanos with the full power of the Realms behind him. It had been a battle beyond anything anyone had ever seen and in the end, even with five of the Infinity Stones, Thanos had fallen. But Danny couldn't just get involved in anything now that he was King, that's what they were for, them and the Avengers.

,

Danny stared at the figure that Frighty had returned with. "Hello Vlad," he greeted coldly. Seeing him now…it really was his power that was involved in the mind control of the US.

"Daniel." He pulled free of Fright Knight, straightening his clothes. "What is this about?"

"You know very well Plasmius. One of the heroes had his mind protected years ago and came here to try and make peace. He allowed me to examine him and I found what you had done, the attempt left its mark on the protections in his mind. But it was not just you. Who is helping you?"

TBC…

So, there was no snap since Danny stepped in. Which means Steve is still Captain America. Peter's id is still intact from the public. I haven't seen any of the films beyond Infinity War, lost interest.
