In the dimly lit room, an imposing tank loomed, filled with a shimmering green liquid that swirled like a mesmerizing mist. Within its glass confines lay a young woman, her body suspended in the fluid, an ethereal figure captured in an otherworldly slumber. She wore a fitted sports bra and sleek pants that clung to her form, a testament to her athleticism. Strands of raven-black hair floated gracefully around her, undulating like tendrils in the currents of the chamber.

As she slept, the tranquility was shattered by distant screams echoing through the sterile environment, piercing through her subconscious and rousing her from her dreams. A breathing device covered

her nose and mouth, its mechanical hum the only reminder of her connection to the world outside the tank, delivering precious oxygen to her lungs. Confusion mingled with fear as she strained to listen for the source of the chaos, her heart racing in sync with the urgency of the unseen cries.

"You're an adult!"

"Don't look at me. I was just hiding until you all barged in."

"But we drove all the way here 'cause-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! You have a vehicle?!"

"Guys, I left the keys in the van."

That was when there was a scream of pain.

"Guess the morphine wore off."

The girl in the chamber snarled as she clenched her fist, and two sharp metal blades came out from between her knuckles.

The van was toppled over, its rear end propped up by a rock. Suddenly, a fist burst through the vehicle's roof, tearing it apart like paper. Peter grunted, pulling away the remaining pieces of the roof, his breaths heavy with fatigue.

The past few hours had been a relentless trial: fleeing from dinosaurs, struggling to keep others safe, discovering his father's unethical experiments on humans, and dealing with the revelation that one of his friends had indeed stolen a phone that could have benefited the group if they knew about it. Everyone else came out of the van as fast as Peter did, trying to escape the smoke from the engine.

"Is everyone okay?" Darius asked the group.

Yaz scoffed and began to laugh when she heard that question. "Is everyone..." She then walked off from the group. "Okay?!"

"Yaz, wait!" Sammy ran over towards her as she kept marching away. "Wait! Yasmina!"

"We're not okay!" Yaz stated as she stopped and turned to face Sammy.

"Yaz..."

"We're in the middle of a jungle with a monster dinosaur out there, and you... You..." Yaz was so furious she could barely finish her sentence.

"Destroyed our only way to get help and lied about it!" Brooklynn proclaimed in anger. "I told you guys!"

"So, you did take Brooklynn's phone?" Darius asks. "Why? What were you doing?"

"Probably trying to erase my video of her taking those samples from the Sinoceratops," Brooklynn took a guess. "And you knew about the Indominus rex because you were snooping around Dr. Wu's office when I ran into you. I knew it!"

"I didn't mean to destroy the phone," Sammy admitted. "I fell on it when the zipline came down and-"

"But you did steal it?" Ben asked as he checked on Bumpy. "You had it that whole time and didn't tell us?"

"Hold up. What were you doing in Dr. Wu's office, Brooklynn?" Darius asks.

"I- It doesn't matter," Brooklynn said. "I didn't break our only way to call for help and then lie about it! This is not my fault! This is her fault! She-"

"I'm here to spy!" Sammy confessed, getting everyone to look up at her. "For a company called Mantah Corp."

"Mantah Corp?" Darius was shocked to hear. "They're a bioengineering company, big rivals with Masrani. They tried to make dinosaurs, too, but Wu beat them to it."

"You doomed us all for some lousy company?" Ben asked in shock.

"Our ranch was in trouble, so my folks had to borrow a lot of money from some shady people," Sammy confessed. "We didn't know they were fronting for Mantah Corp. They said we'd lose everything unless I spied on them. Use the behind-the-scenes access I'd get at camp to gather info from Wu's lab, DNA from dinos, and whatever else they needed. But then Brooklynn caught on, and I got scared, and then everything went wrong. This is the last thing I wanted to happen."

"Oh." Yaz scoffs. "To be next to a broken van on Killer Dinosaur Island? Hey, me, too! What are the odds?"

"Yaz, I-"

"Was it all a lie, wanting to be friends?" Yaz asked. "Pretending you cared about... You just needed someone to hide what you were doing." She started to see through the lies. "Tell me I'm wrong."

Sammy didn't know what to say.

"I'm such an idiot." Yaz scoffed as she walked away.

"You are wrong!" Sammy quickly said as she ran after him. "I just didn't know how to say it, how to explain to you." She reached up to try and grab Yaz to have her stop. "Just because I spied doesn't change who I am."

"Don't touch me!" Yaz demanded, getting her to freeze. Yaz then turned to face her with a face of anger and hatred in her eyes. "Go away, Sammy."

Sammy stumbled back, her heart aching and tears cascading down her cheeks as the weight of her fading friendship with Yaz pressed heavily upon her chest. Each sob felt like a physical blow, a stark reminder that trust was slipping through her fingers like sand. Not far away, Peter knelt by the battered van, his body tense and motionless, as a thick fog of despair clouded his thoughts.

The haunting echoes of his father's desperate screams reverberated in his mind, an unending torment that wrapped around him like a vice. Clenching his head in his hands, he fought against the relentless tide of memories flooding back—the image of his father's demise etched vividly in his memory. Despite his desperate attempts to shut out the chaos surrounding him, it was futile; every sound around him felt amplified, turning his senses into instruments of suffering. He was engulfed in a tempest of grief and dread, overwhelmed and longing for even a moment of peace to quiet the storm within.

"Peter?" Darius' voice came in, but it sounded muffled like he was underwater.

"Hey, are you okay?" Kenji asked.

Bumpy squeaked as she jumped at Peter.

"Not now, Bumpy," Yaz said as she pushed the small dinosaur away. "Peter?"

Brooklynn quickly assessed the emotional turmoil surrounding them and felt a surge of inspiration. She knelt down, lowering herself to Peter's eye level, and wrapped her arms around him in a warm embrace. At first, Peter looked bewildered, uncertainty flickering across his face like a candle in the wind. However, it didn't take long for a wave of comfort to wash over him, and gradually, he began to let go of his tension. After the chaotic journey they had just experienced together, this tender gesture grounded him, bringing him back to the present moment.

As Peter inhaled deeply, he felt his breaths begin to steady, a sense of calm steadily replacing the storm of emotions swirling within him. Finally, the dam broke, and he released a heart-wrenching cry, a sound that echoed around them as he let go of all the pain he had been holding inside. Brooklynn held him tightly against her, feeling the weight of his sorrow as he let it out. She was reminded of her own loss—the hollow ache she had felt when her mother passed away—and recognized that this was the kind of solace Peter needed in that moment.

Darius stood with a compassionate expression, looking on with a knowing sadness. He understood what Peter was going through; he too had faced the grief of losing a parent when his father had died. With gentle determination, Darius approached and used his small frame to hug Peter from above, wrapping his arms around Peter's head as if to offer shielded comfort. The three of them formed a small oasis of support amidst the chaos, a quiet sanctuary where emotion flowed freely and healing began to take root.

Peter then finally finished crying as he whipped the tears away. "Thanks, guys." He then got tackled by Bumpy who licked his face. "Yeah, you too, you little asymmetrical mess." He mocked as he petted the dinosaur. "

"You feel better?" Brooklynn asks him.

"As I can be," Peter whispered in sorrow. "But this isn't the time to mourn." He stated as he stood up and whipped the tears. "If we stay too long, that Indominous can come for us again. We gotta move."

"Look, I know the situation we're in is suboptimal-"

"It's trash. Just say it's trash, Ben." Kenji said.

"Yes, but despite the obvious trashitude we we need to-" Ben was saying when Bumpy squealed to get his attention.

Peter's head began to buzz like it did right before the Indominous attacked them. He was starting to realize that this is some sort of warning system that came with his powers. Considering he only senses this every time that the Indominous comes for them.

"Guys... something's coming!" Peter warned them.

"How do you know?" Kenji asks.

That was when they heard thumping, getting them to look over and see the trees being moved by the Indominous returning. Everyone screamed in terror as they ran to hide anywhere they could. Peter grabbed Bumpy and carried her away.

"This is trash! This is trash!" Ben cried in fear as they hid behind the van.

But to their surprise, the Indominous didn't stop to attack them or anything. She ran off like something was chasing her.

"What the heck?" Peter asked.

That was when they heard a helicopter whirring and they looked upward to see there was a helicopter following the Indominous. The helicopter began to open fire, shooting the Indominous as it disappeared back into the jungle.

"That's Masrani's helicopter!" Kenji seemed to recognize the helicopter. "That's his call sign on the tail!"

"They're shooting at the Indominus!" Darius said with a cheer.

As the Indominous was running, it was making its way toward some giant glass dome far in the distance. As they watched the Indominous get gunned down, they heard what sounded like glass shattering even from this distance.

"What was that?" Peter whispered in fear.

"Yeah! Kick its butt, Masrani!" Kenji cheered. "We're saved! Yeah, baby! Ah! I told you, they've got it totally under-"

That was when they watched as dozens of pteranodons flew upward, revealing the giant dome containing the flying dinosaurs that they didn't want to escape or fly around the area. Then they began to attack the helicopter, sending it crashing into the dome, creating a larger hole in the dome, and setting more of them loose. They froze in terror when they saw that there was now a much bigger problem with the flying reptiles out in the open. All of them begin to fly free for the first time and fly towards them.

"With those pteranodons loose, we're sitting ducks!" Darius cried in fear. "We've gotta take cover!"

Kenji gasps as he gets an idea and took the tablet. "The Kayak River! The entrance is near here. It goes underground, beneath the ridge. If we follow it, it'll take us right to the main park."

"Then that's where we need to go!" Peter cried as he gestured for them to run. "Come on! Go! Go!" He pushed everyone forward as the pteranodons took flight to attack them. He then tried to run when he saw Ben was trying to push Bumpy who didn't seem to get the idea of the danger she was in. "UGH!" He ran back towards them and grabbed Bumpy, picking her up. "Come on, Bumpy!"

They were all running, Kenji leading them but falling a bit behind. Yaz ran ahead as she was the fastest with Peter carrying Bumpy, causing him to lose speed. She then took the tablet from Kenji and followed the directions towards the opening of the kayak. "Hurry up!" She said as they ran.

"There it is!" Brooklynn said, reading the sign that said, 'River Adventure.'

"Come on, Pete!" Darius cried as he and Ben ran inside.

"You try running while carrying a baby dinosaur with the super strength you just got this morning!" Peter cried as he saw a pteranodon coming down to attack. "Oh, come on! Give me a big, fat BREAK!" He then tossed Bumpy towards the entrance, causing her to squeal. He then skidded to a stop as the pteranodon landed in front of him. He then did the unthinkable and punched the dinosaur in the face, sending it flying off towards the bushes. "Well, that happened!"

Peter then saw there were more coming to attack and quickly ran into the cave. Everyone was waiting for him and Bumpy as he scooped her up as fast as he could and ran into the area with a final leap to make the distance. The others quickly closed the door and locked it, backing off a little to watch as the pteranodons were trying to break inside. But the door held and kept them out.

"Oh, sure, the only door that holds up!" Peter cried in annoyance as he plopped onto the floor. "Spare no expense." He almost spat those words.

"Jurassic World River Adventures." An announcer called out.

"What?" Brooklynn whispered.

"Prepare yourselves for the wonder of the underground river."

"Ugh, stupid pre-recorded messages." Peter groaned as he got licked by Bumpy. "You're like a cat, you know that?"

Bumpy bellowed at him, getting Peter to groan.

"And a dog," Peter stated as he got up and followed everyone to the kayaks.

They walked over the lines and saw various life jackets and boats on the docks. Seems there were a lot of spares for people. They all grabbed their own life jackets to begin picking them up and putting them on.

"Two adventurers per kayak. Life vests must be worn at all times. Adults, please fasten your own life vests before helping little adventurers. Remain seated at all times. Your journey begins now."

"I am over this journey," Peter stated as he grabbed a life jacket.

"You and me both." Yaz agreed as she grabbed her own life jacket.

"Brooklynn and I call the CKK," Kenji said as he put on some sunglasses that somehow he still had and were somehow not broken.

"CKK?" Brooklynn asks.

"Cool kids' kayak," Kenji explained.

"Then why are you getting on it?" Peter asked sarcastically as he walked past. "Okay, two people per boat, and there are seven of us." He muttered to himself as he saw the group. "So, how are we gonna do this?"

Darius looked it over and wondered the same thing. "Well, Ben and Bumpy can go in this one-"

"I'll go with Peter," Yaz said as she pushed ahead, walking over to a kayak with Peter. She jumped on board and tossed the paddle over at Peter. "Let's go, dude."

Peter looked over to the others and shrugged. "Okay. Ben, Darius, you two and Sammy decide who goes where."

Ben leads Bumpy onto a boat while Darius decides to just go with Sammy. "Come on, Sammy, let's get out of here."

Dave and Roxie made it to the main park and were still trying to get into contact with the kids. Dave was looking over the tablet for information to try and see if he could find the tablet they had been using.

"Darius, do you copy?" Roxie tried to get back into contact with them. "Kids, please answer." She only got static in return. "Still nothing."

"Look! There's an ACU tablet and vehicle on the move here." Dave showed, revealing it was close to where the kids would have gone since it was near the camp.

"That must be them!" Roxie said in relief. "They said they had a van, but they're still not safe out there. We've gotta get to them." She then tried to use the radio. "HQ, this is Roxie from Camp Cretaceous. Do you copy?"

"Who- This frequency is for emergency use only!"

"This is an emergency!" Roxie groaned when she heard the complaints. "We've got kids in Sector Seven outside the containment area, they are on their own, and-"

Dave took the radio to try and use a calmer approach. "Hey! Dave here. Sounds like you got your hands full over there. Tell you what- if you let us borrow a park vehicle, we can just bring the kids in ourselves, just-"

"No, we can't just let you just take a vehicle! Yours is not the only emergency happening. What? I don't know. I don't know. They say they're from the camp."

"We don't have time for this. Clear the line!" A strange voice called and then they were cut off.

"Hello? Hello?" Dave called in. "They hung up on me. They hung up on me!"

"If things are as bad as we think, there's no way rescuing those kids is gonna be their top priority," Roxie commented as she looked around at the chaos. "Richard died to give them a chance to get here, so I am not going to let that be in vain to leave those kids out there on their own!"

"What are we gonna do?" Dave asked her sarcastically. "Jack a park vehicle, go storming across the island?"

Roxie then grew a grin and gave Dave a look that he didn't exactly like.

That was exactly what they did. She found the nearest vehicle that was out and wasn't being watched. She dragged Dave into the said vehicle and then drove off as fast as she could to try and find the kids.

"Stop!"

"Hey, you don't have authorization!"

Dave looked at Roxie with a hint of surprise, but also fear as he saw how determined she was to save the kids.

Back in the cave, Peter and Yaz were leading the group through the cave as they paddled down to try and find a way out. Since the outburst between Peter, Yaz, and Sammy it was a little uncomfortable since everything went down. Peter had that little fuss with the girls for acting crazy, and it turned out Sammy was the one at fault after all. Yaz's silence and frustration towards Sammy were warranted considering everything that happened.

"So, anyone know any kayaking songs?" Peter asked, trying to break the silence with him and Yaz.

Yaz was confused by the question as she looked back at him, considering she was sitting at the front of the kayak.

"What? I spent a summer in Italy once during this trip my school went on around Europe." Peter shrugged as he defended his question. "I couldn't understand what the heck they were saying, but it was pretty catchy."

Yaz couldn't help but snicker at the statement, bringing a smile back to her face. But their moment was interrupted when Kenji and Brooklynn bumped into their boat.

"Watch it!" Yaz tells them.

"CKK has the right of way," Kenji stated as he moved ahead. "Sorry, I don't make the rules."

Peter rolled his eyes as he looked over to Yaz. "You wanna throw him off the boat, don't you?" Yaz looked back at him once again. "Oh, no, better, you wanna whack him over the head with your paddle? I know that look." Now Yaz was giving him a stern look. "My aunt has the same look after the oven burns her turkey meatloaf."

Yaz had to admit she chuckled at that one and laughed as quietly as she could. "How do you do that?" She asked him.

"Make quips like that? A few dozen nights on the comedy channel watching comedians helps." Peter shrugged. "And also I was part of the comedy club back home. But they got one look at me and said 'no professionals' and kicked me out. At least that's what I tell myself.'

Yaz rolled her eyes at that one. "No, make jokes. After everything that happened. How could you possibly make jokes?"

Peter saw that was a serious question and nodded. "I guess that is a fair question. I... I suppose it comes from the fact that I was always bullied. I would hide my pain behind quips and jokes. It's just... it's just how I cope."

Yaz felt really sorry for Peter since it seems he went through a lot alone to have to go through things like that. As she was thinking, she heard Brooklynn cry out from ahead.

"Hey, the cave's getting bigger," Brooklynn warned them. "And brighter?"

They entered the larger portion of the cave where they saw there was glowing algae in the area. There was a small waterfall that pushed them on as they kept going while taking a moment to awe at the scenery. Sammy however wasn't much enjoying the sight as she was still sad about what happened between her and Yaz back at the van.

"Even with the glowy stuff, it's really dark in here," Kenji commented.

Brooklynn immediately removed his glasses, showing that is what kept them dark.

Brooklynn then tossed the glasses back at him and went back to paddling. "I could have used my phone as a flashlight if Sammy hadn't broken it. Of course, if we had my phone, we wouldn't be here at all."

"Hey, will you stop harshing the mellow of the CKK?" Kenji asked her.

"How many times are you gonna say "CKK"?" Brooklynn asks, getting a little sick of him saying that.

"CKK? Why?" Kenji asks. "Would you like me to stop saying "CKK"? CKK. CKK. CKK."

"Enhanced hearing!" Peter called out, getting Kenji to shriek as he looked back to see Peter was getting irritated by it. "One more time, and I will swim over there!"

"Sorry!" Kenji cried in fear of what Peter would do with his powers.

Brooklynn laughed when she saw how scared Kenji was of Peter but then sighed. "You're acting like this doesn't affect you, too. We're here because of her. And I can swim faster than you can paddle!"

"Really?" Yaz asks.

"I don't know, I can run faster now. Maybe I can swim faster," Peter shrugged.

"Or maybe something else would have happened and we would still be stuck here." Kenji tried to break the peace. "Look, I- I know you're mad at Sammy, but getting mad doesn't get us out of here. It just makes more people mad, you know? Put yourself in her shoes. At this point, is there anything you could say that would make Sammy feel worse than she already does? Take it from someone who has ample experience in rubbing people the wrong way."

Sammy could tell Darius was eyeing her even when he was behind her. "Just ask." She said.

"It's just that you talk so much about your ranch and your family. But your family sent you here to break the law." Darius recalled.

"Don't, Darius," Sammy tells him. "You don't know anything about my family."

"I know they put you in danger when they sent you to spy on the park," Darius commented. "How can you still defend them?"

"Because they didn't send me," Sammy admitted. "They said "no" to Mantah Corp. They said they'd rather lose everything than use me like that. I was the one who contacted the Mantah Corp agent. I agreed to come here. My family... they didn't even know what I was planning until I was already on the ferry. Smashing the phone was an accident, but Brooklynn's right- this is all my fault."

"I still don't see why-"

"If your family was in trouble, wouldn't you do anything in your power to save them?" Sammy asked him, shutting him up pretty quickly.

"Ben, would you please put down that overgrown turtle and pick up your paddle?" Yaz asked when she saw Ben was falling behind.

Peter reached up and grabbed the boat and was pushing it along with them, seeing he was tending to Bumpy. "I think Bumpy's seasick."

"I think you need to paddle!" Yaz stated. "Peter can't pull you along and help me at the same time."

"I think... we both need to prepare for dino-vomit!" Ben warned them when they saw Bumpy was getting ready to hurl.

"Bumpy, don't you dare, I do not need to learn if my smell was enhanced!" Peter warned the dinosaur.

"You guys, should the algae be moving?" Brooklynn called out, getting them to look ahead.

That was when they saw there were a few Parasaurolophus in the area that were eating and didn't seem to be paying them any mind. That was until they came close. They seemed to take a curious approach before the kids.

"Don't panic, guys. They're herbivores!" Darius told them. "Unbelievable! Dr. Wu must have put the bioluminescent gene into these Parasaurolophuses."

"What do you mean I insulted Bumpy?" Yaz asked in annoyance.

"You called her a turtle, and now she's upset!" Ben said as Bumpy was moving about, getting Peter splashed in the face. "Sorry."

"Ben, dinosaurs can't understand English!" Yaz stated.

"Well, I'm glad she can't, because there have been several unkind things said," Ben stated, getting Bumpy to squealed again.

"Can we PLEASE stop arguing!" Peter begged them.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, Bumpy." Yaz said with a sigh.

Bumpy squeals as Ben tries to calm her down. "Oh, great! Now you made it worse."

Yaz sighed with a moan. "This is why I picked this one."

The Parasaurolophus then dived into the water, making their way towards the kayaks with their heads just above the water. They came close to them and still didn't seem to be much of a threat to them. Darius reached out and touched one of them. But then that was when more Parasaurolophus came out of the water, surrounding their boats, and began to shake the kayaks, causing the kids to panic. Peter was getting ready to fight them off, letting go of Ben's kayak and preparing to punch them when all of the Parasaurolophus' stopped what they were doing and looked ahead. They then swam off in the opposite direction, leaving them alone to keep going forward.

"Uh... that was weird, right?" Peter asks.

"Definitely weird!" Yaz stated.

"Uh, cool kids to nerds, where are you?" Kenji called as the tunnel got darker.

"Over here!" Darius called. "I think something scared the Parasaurolophuses."

"I am afraid to ask, but... what could do that, exactly?" Peter asks.

"A couple of things," Darius answered.

"Darius, if we stopped paddling, why are we still moving forward?" Sammy asks.

Looking through the darkness, Darius saw that there was a current leading them away from the cave and down a pathway that looked like it was broken down by something that passed through there.

"Paddle! There's a current pulling us into a different tunnel." Darius warned them as everyone started to try to paddle in the opposite direction.

But the paddling didn't do much since the current was stronger than they were. Ben was alone, so he was the first to be dragged downward into the tunnel, getting him to go down first. Kenji and Brooklynn followed, then Peter and Yaz, finally ending with Darius and Sammy. They fell down a cavern that brought the water somewhere else.

When they exited the pipeline, they splashed down in a large body of water, and they were outside. They all let out a breath of relief when they saw that they were out of danger.

"We're okay. We're okay." Ben said in relief.

Peter was going to respond when his head began to buzz again, getting him to grunt and grab his head. "Gah!"

"Peter?" Yaz got his attention. "What is it?"

"My head..." Peter groaned. "I think it came from the spider bite. Every time that I feel it, it's when we are about to be in danger."

"Are we still in danger?" Sammy asked.

Kenji was trying to see as he picked up his glasses and then looked around as he put them on. He gasped when he saw where he was.

"Why did you gasp?" Ben asks. "It didn't sound like a good gasp!"

"'Cause I know exactly where we are, guys," Kenji said in fear. "We're in the Jurassic World Lagoon... And so is the Mosasaurus."

That was when they looked down and saw a gigantic shadow in the depths of the lagoon.

"I assume the Mosasaurus is some kind of giant fish dinosaur that's gonna try and eat us." Ben took an obvious guess

Then the shadow knocked into them, spooking them all as they watched the back of the Mosasaurus come out of the water, circling them.

"It's circling, testing us. It's acting like a shark." Brooklynn took notice. "We're intruders in its domain, so it's investigating us."

"She's right. We've gotta get out of here before it gets confident, and decides to go in for the kill." Peter agreed with her.

"Where do we go?" Yaz asks.

Darius looked over towards the seating area and spotted something. "There's a ladder by the spectator stands."

"How are we gonna-" Kenji was asking when the Mosasaurus came back around.

"Y'all?" Sammy wimpred.

"Paddle! Go, go, go!" Darius cried as they all used their paddles.

They all began to paddle as fast as they could. "This is not how Kenji wanted to go out!"

"This isn't on my to-do list either!" Yaz cried.

"Come on!" Brooklynn cried as they paddled.

Roxie and Dave managed to reach the entrance to the River Adventre as that was the last place they got a ping from the tablet.

"The kids must have gone in." Roxie guessed. "The river leads to the main park, right?" Dave then took the tablet out again to see if he could find them. "There's no way that'll pick up their signal under all that rock."

Dave however got a ping. "I see 'em! They're not on the river anymore. They're in Aquatic Area One..."

They both knew what that meant as they drove off as fast as they could to make their way to the Mosasaurus paddock.

The group was paddling as fast as they could. Ben was falling behind and Peter got a seriously bad idea as he stood up to stop paddling, seeing the Mosasaurus was gaining on him and Bumpy.

"What are you doing?!" Yaz asks.

"Ben and Bumpy aren't going to make it on their own," Peter stated as he steadied himself. "I'm gonna get them a hand!"

"HOW?!" Yaz asks.

"I have no idea! Just get to the ladder," Peter proclaimed as he leaped into the air, going as high as he could, screaming when he saw how far he went. "TOO HIGH! TOO HIGH!"

Peter then splashed into the water, landing right aside Ben and Bumpy's kayak. He quickly swam over when he saw that the Mosasaurus was coming. He climbed onto the kayak, causing Ben to shriek as the boat shook and Bumpy steadied herself. Peter saw that the Mosasaurus was coming for them, and he needed to get them off of the water. He grabbed Bumpy and Ben, causing him to shriek again.

"What are you doing?!" Ben asks.

"Something incredibly stupid!" Peter cried.

Peter then ran to the ledge of the kayak and leaped with all of his eight while the Mosasaurus chomped down on the kayak. But Peter was already far gone as he flew through the air while he, Ben, and Bumpy shrieked as they passed everyone who watched as they crashed into the seats. Kenji and Brooklynn were the first kayak to arrive with Yaz making her way over. But then she looked back and saw that the Mosasaurus wasn't done after taking out one kayak and was coming around for another go.

"They aren't going to make it..." Then Yaz gets an idea when she sees the large pole sticking out of the water that leads to the line that fed the Mosasaurus. She moved the kayak over towards the pole and climbed up it.

"Come on, faster!" Darius cried as he and Sammy as they paddled as fast as they could. "Don't look back, Sammy! Just keep paddling!"

"I'm trying!" Sammy cried when she saw Yaz. "What's Yaz doing?"

Yaz then began to bang the pole with her paddle as they were getting closer. "Hey! Hey! Over here!" She slammed, seeing that the noise was beginning to get the Mosasaurus' attention. "Hey! Over here! Here! Here!"

Peter groaned as he got up, feeling like he broke something as he rubbed his stomach. "Ow, that hurt." Then he looked over and saw Yaz. "What is she doing?!"

"She's distracting it, buying them time," Brooklynn answered. "Come on, guys, keep going!"

Yaz laughed as she saw she managed to distract the Mosasaurus. But then that turned around on her when she realized that the Mosasaurus was now focusing on her. "I think this through."

"We gotta do something!" Sammy cried as she and Darius made it to shore.

The hook that would carry the Mosasaurus food was moving, getting her to look over towards it. "Grab the chain!" Kenji cried, controlling the chain.

Yaz grabbed onto the chain as the Mosasaurus was still following after her, preparing to strike her. "Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!"

The Mosasaurus surged out of the shimmering lagoon, its massive jaws gaping wide as it aimed for Yaz. In a split second, Peter sprang into action, launching himself through the air and delivering a powerful kick to the creature's side. The impact jolted the Mosasaurus, causing it to veer off course and snap at the thick line instead of its intended target.

A piercing cry escaped Peter's lips as the line shattered under the force, and in a frantic motion, he clung tightly to it, ensuring he and Yaz remained tethered as they plummeted. The pair let out cries of alarm—Yaz's voice cutting through the chaos—as they helplessly watched the tablet plummet toward the lagoon's depths.

Yaz managed to snag hold of the seats, but the momentum sent her sprawling, a sharp pain shooting through her leg as she landed awkwardly, spraining it in the process. Peter, however, met a less fortunate fate. Instead of reaching the ground safely, he slammed against the wall with a sickening thud.

Miraculously, his powers shielded him from injury, and he quickly scrambled up the wall, heart racing as he saw that the Mosasaurus was still coming for him. As he reached the safety of the seats, relief washed over him when he spotted everyone else unharmed, their faces a mix of shock and disbelief at the close call.

But then he heard a whimper as he looked over and saw Yaz was harmed. "Yaz!" He ran over to help her up, seeing she was harmed. "You good?"

"I'm okay," Yaz said, reaching down and touching her leg, but earned a grunt as she felt her leg was sprained. "I think."

"Uh, also, where'd everyone go?" Ben asked, seeing that the entire park was empty.

Peter looked around and decided to test out his height jumping again as he leaped over and landed on top of the seats to see that indeed the entire park was empty. There was no sign of anyone. No park employees. No dinosaurs. No visitors.

"This isn't ominous at all..." Peter whispered.

"Rox, it's gone. The kids' signal is gone!" Dave cried in terror, not knowing the tablet had fallen into the lagoon.

"It's probably just a glitch, right?" Roxie asked in fear. "Reboot the system."

"Come on! Come on!" Dave cried out as he tried to reboot. "Give me something! Give me something!" Then Roxie drove the car to a halt, scaring some small dinosaurs in the area. "It's working. Their signal just stopped."

"Wednesdays are k-k-kids-eat-free days h-here at Jurassic World!"

Peter rolled his eyes as he tried to look over Yaz's leg. "Well, good news, it isn't broken. Bad news, you should try to not put too much pressure on it."

"Are you kidding me?" Yaz asked in a sarcastic way. "I need to put pressure on it."

"If you do, it is only going to get worse before it gets better." Peter was sorry to tell her.

Sammy then approached Yaz with a sheepish look to her. "Thank you for saving us, for saving me." She said to Yaz as she sat down beside her. "That was amazing. You're amazing. Both-"

"Stop," Yaz said as she stood up, against Peter's warnings. She grunted and moaned when she felt the pain in her foot. "We may need each other to stay alive, but don't for a second think that makes us friends again. Because we're not and we will never be."

Yaz then walked off, as best she could and Peter decided to just follow and help her walk, trying to help her leg heal.

Brooklynn approached Sammy sympathetically. "You okay?"

"Naw." Sammy sighed. "Not really."

"Yeah," Brooklynn said as she sat aside her. "Dumb question. I don't know her that well, but I think if you give Yaz some space, she'll come around. Maybe? I don't know, I'm gonna be honest- IRL friendships aren't really my thing, but, uh sounds right, yeah?"

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Sammy wonders.

"Because Kenji is right. Ugh, that feels so wrong to say. Never, ever repeat that. Ugh. Gross." Brooklynn said in disgust. "And so is Peter, about what he said back in the jungle. Listen, I've done my share of selfish things. I only knew what you were up to because I was also sneaking in places I shouldn't. You were at least doing it for your family. I was doing it to impress a bunch of angry internet randos. Plus, when we get out of here, you're gonna give me the exclusive on all the juicy details of you spying for Mantah Corp. "Brooklynn Unboxes a Conspiracy"." She then stood up and cheered. "Pow, pow! Try to tell me my videos are lame after that, angry internet randos! So...deal?"

"Deal." Sammy agreed.

"So, not to be a total downer, but Operation Find People to Help Us is, heh clearly a bust," Kenji said as he sat aside Darius on top of the seats.

"My dad talked about coming here for years. And here we are." Darius said with a sigh, looking at the chaos of Jurassic World.

Kenji sighed as he leaned back. "Yep. Welcome to Jurassic World."

As the group huddled together, seeking a rare moment of calm amidst the chaos, a sudden cacophony of alarms erupted, piercing the air with an insistent shrillness. The blaring sirens sent a jolt of fear through each of them, their hearts racing as they glanced around in confusion. Wide-eyed and anxious, they exchanged worried looks, each silently questioning what crisis had now unfolded in their midst. The once peaceful atmosphere was now fraught with tension, the sound echoing ominously in the backdrop of their uncertain reality.
