"Finally I can talk to you."

Kurama was not in the mood to be messed with, and he knew Hiei hated how much how he protected the humans. The three detectives jumped as they turned, now staring in awe. Kurama pulled Markus again as he moved closer to the others, trying his best to keep them together.

"What are you doing?" He was on full defense but sounding entirely calm. Markus glanced at him, clearly taken off guard by seeing Kurama go through such a quick change in emotion.

"Who the hell is that?" Olivia whispered to him. Kurama glanced at her, barely giving her a shake of his head. So she just kept her guard up, still not understanding what was happening.

Hiei raised an eyebrow as he looked Kurama up and down, his smirk faltering. "All three?" He spat out a laugh as he hopped off the desk, still holding his sword. And as he moved loose bandages hung from his right arm, and his flowing cloak was torn more than usual. It'd been a while since Kurama had seen him—and if it wasn't for how he was acting, he'd be happy right now.

Amaro's was very uneasy. "How'd you get in here?" He reached back for his gun again—but thankfully Kurama had made it close enough that he could reach across him, to hold the gun in its holster—still keeping his eyes on Hiei. Amaro jerked his head over to look at him in anger.

"I said don't." Kurama allowed his intensity to show as he looked to him, hoping to get his damned point across. Amaro stared at Kurama for a moment, they were almost nose to nose, so seeing those eyes made him hesitate. He swallowed, then looked back to Hiei and Kurama was thankful they continued to obey. Kurama knew they could all feel the difference with Hiei.

Hiei looked at his hand on Markus', and Kurama quickly let go—feeling pissed that this all was happening so fast. "Heh." Hiei smirked.

"What do you want, Hiei?" He snarled in annoyance as his hand snapped up quicker than a human could see, grabbing an old seed he used with Hiei plenty in the past. He also slid his foot out, now standing in a relaxed fighting stance. Hiei was his friend, but he wasn't dumb enough to ever be off guard around him while humans were involved.

He smirked even more as he walked closer to examine them. "Who are they?" He glanced at Kurama's hand with the seed, knowing it was his blade.

"They're law enforcement. I'm working with them."

He glared. "Why?"

"Why are you here?" He repeated.

Hiei finally glared as he snapped out a snarl, now throwing his sword back into his belt, relaxing a bit as he walked over to look at their breakfast leftovers. "Urameshi." He said quieter this time.

Kurama glared in confusion, now standing up straighter. "Koenma knows you're here?" When that name was said, the three detectives looked to Kurama in shock. Markus swallowed, now looking back to Hiei, wondering if he was a demon. He felt different, the air was thicker, and Markus didn't like it.

"Yeah." He shrugged. "He gave me a week." He wasn't even looking at them anymore as he picked up the last bit of Kurama's egg sandwich, smelling it. He looked directly to Markus this time as his smile became more intimidating on purpose. "I really only stopped by because of the Ferrier. I knew you were here, but my curiosity peaked." He took a bite of the sandwich, then moved his eyes to Kurama, obviously amused with himself.

"Kurama, what the hell i—" Olivia could barely get out before Kurama snapped his head over to her, wishing they'd all just shut up!

"Please!" Kurama snapped, looking at her with intensity, then back to Hiei. She too felt stunned with how Kurama was acting, but she took it serious and shut her mouth. This guy was a mystery, and odd, and if he was tied to the people Markus had been speaking of, it made sense for another strange one to wander in.

She looked over to Markus, feeling panic. He swallowed as he looked at her and made a back and forth motion with his hand near his neck, as he shook his head. Amaro glanced at him, then to Olivia who just silently realized they had to choose to trust Kurama. Whatever this person was, they could tell he wasn't safe. Hiei took another bite, now sitting on a chair. Kurama felt himself let his breath out as he realize Hiei was in good spirits.

"Besides. I'd never come near you while you're in your hysteria." He made a face as he moved his head in distaste, then took another small bite. Kurama sighed out abruptly as hung his head to the side, knowing exactly what was coming next. "But that's over now." Hiei chuckled as he looked straight to him.

"You're an ass." He growled out, really wanting to use his blade now. He knew Hiei wanted to see who Kurama had 'used', and he'd always take the chance to feel superior to humans—even through other demons.

He swallowed more food then looked at Markus again. "Guess I have you to thank. Your stench is all over him." He snarled in disgust as he stood, sloppily wiping his mouth.

There it was, exactly what he knew he was going to do. Kurama sighed with a small cringe, now looking down in embarrassment. Olivia looked upset as she looked to Kurama with worry, then to Markus for some sort of something. Markus took in a breath, then looked back to her—not entirely sure what was happening. The short guy knew… somehow?

'I swear to you Hiei, stop. Or I'll make it my mission to humiliate you in front of who you care for; you pick. Your sister, or Yusuke.'

Hiei perked up and hesitated, now looking back to stare at Kurama's angry face. He knew he wasn't the type to use telepathy unless he really had to. "Interesting." He looked at Markus again, this time studying him.

"Stop." Kurama snapped; his voice deeper than usual.

"You've gotten to the fox." He ignored Kurama as he spoke directly to Markus, making a face of false astonishment.

Markus' eyes widened, hearing someone else refer to him as the fox made him nervous. Clearly he was right about this guy, and he wasn't someone to mess with. He glanced nervous to Kurama. "Kurama…"

Glancing back to him, he frowned. "It's fine."

"Is it?" Olivia whispered, clearly scared.

"I'm leaving." Hiei said with a bored tone, now rolling his eyes. "I just came to deliver a message—but, since she was here I'm assuming you already know."

"Yes." Kurama frowned. "We just heard."

"And you know that disgusting human is involved…?" He looked to the ground.

Kurama felt his spine shiver with rage from his neck down, that tone meant Hiei hated Sakyo as well. He wasn't sure why, but Hiei always seemed to know more than he gave him credit for. It could be anything to do with Yukina… but, could he know about Karasu?

"Yes."

"Hmm." He frowned, showing the only look he'd seen that resembled concern that Kurama knew, then looked to him. "When did you find out?"

"I've known."

"For sure?"

He frowned. "Yes, why?"

He shrugged.

"What are you doing? Can you see Yusuke?" He stepped forward, feeling hopeful now.

"Don't you think I would've started with that?" He glared. "He's suppressing himself."

Kurama was disappointed, "I know." He spoke quietly as he stepped closer again.

Hiei eyed him, "He's not dead."

He glared. "I know that."

He snorted out and looked away in annoyance. "He's an idiot."

Kurama nodded. "Agreed." He smiled, stepping up to Hiei finally close enough to feel he had some sort of control of this mess.

"You know I'm not allowed to touch them." Hiei sneered.

He frowned. "Koenma?" He felt his body relax.

"Yeah, it was a part of the deal letting me back."

"…and the other was the Jagan?"

Hiei eyed him. "Yeah." He pouted.

"Thank you." He felt his chest jerk with emotion, stressed that not even the Jagan could see him.

"He's strong enough to hide from it." Hiei said in response to his emotions.

"Yes. I know." He spoke his quietest now, eyes downcast.

"…"

Hiei smirked. "So how'd he taste?" He was speaking louder now.

Kurama gasped out a snarl as his face flushed. "I'll cut you." A bit of Youko slipped out due to his pride.

His eyebrows snapped up in a sarcastic response. "Oh, I thought you were still taking them by force." He laughed as he looked directly to Markus once more.

He felt his face burn as he lowered his head now covering his brow with his hand. "Please."

Hiei looked back to him, then lowered his head into a nod. "I wanted to make sure you were caught up."

"…"

"Grey." He said with an entirely different tone.

Kurama's stared in shock as he saw Hiei's eyes on the case he still held.

"You know it?" He glanced at it.

"Just some. It's his introduction to demons, for humans. Since… I guess he thought chapter black was a bit much." He rolled his eyes.

"Introduction…?" Kurama cringed.

"Yeah. Children are popular here, and you know it'll make him a big buck if it's all types of them. I assume you've already looked at them…" He spoke without emotion. "Not sure if the Ferrier even knows… it is mainly children, but the age range past sexual maturity. I'm sure he left those details out…?" He mocked Koenma, obviously annoyed.

Kurama felt sick. "He did."

"That's why I have no idea what the hell that idiot is doing."

Kurama felt surprised, realizing Hiei was frustrated with Yusuke for not being here to help with this case, was it because demons were involved now? Or something else maybe… He realized he might have to look through its contents now, after what Hiei just said.

Then Hiei sighed, glancing back to the balcony door.

"Off so soon?"

Hiei sighed. "I told you, I just wanted to stop by."

Kurama did his best not to look as annoyed as he felt. "Can you please not scare them again?"

He rolled his eyes. "Fine." Then he casually walked back to the balcony door. Before opening it he turned back to look at the detectives, then barely back to Kurama.

"You should go to Judith tonight."

Kurama frowned in confusion, remembering that name being referenced yesterday by Markus. Then Hiei left in a flash again. Once the door clicked shut, Kurama sighed out as he leaned forward a bit now holding his forehead. What the hell was that? First he said he had a message, then he said he was just stopping by, but then leaves with that cryptic suggestion?

Maybe Hiei was getting involved for another reason…? It couldn't just be because of Yusuke. Could it? Kurama wouldn't be that surprised if it was, but it made more sense that there was something else there… potentially personal, making Hiei want to be involved. Maybe Yukina was one of those victims? Kurama turned his head to that thought, feeling stressed about what else was in chapter grey.

They had a lot to talk about.

"What the fuck was that?" Markus said from across the room, more so confused than demanding.

Kurama ripped himself out of his thoughts, forcing himself to turn to the wreckage that Hiei left him.

"You know that guy?" Olivia was demanding, obviously stressed as they all stood in their same spots, not sure what to do with themselves.

"Yes. Hiei used to be a part of my team."

She and Amaro were clearly shaken. Amaro perked up and looked at his partner, then to Kurama—curious, but cautious. He didn't want to know more and was obviously shaken by Hiei's demonstration.

"He's different." Olivia spoke sternly, as she stared at Kurama with intensity.

Nodding, Kurama lowered his head. "He is."

"What the heck…" She tried asking a question as she shook her head, not even sure where to start as she walked over to sit at a random desk.

Kurama looked to her, as he took in a breath then looked at Markus. Who was already looking at him. He was frowning, feeling irritated by the tension and helplessness of dealing with all these types of… people. "Is he... a demon?" Markus mouthed, hoping Kurama could read his lips.

"Yes." Kurama responded, keeping his gaze a bit longer on him—warning him with his eyes not to speak unless needed.

Markus took in a deep breath as he rubbed his hair back, now finally walking back over to clean up their breakfast mess due to stress. Amaro eyed Markus with annoyance then looked back to Kurama.

"What'd he ask you?" He spoke to Kurama.

Kurama stared at him, giving no answer.

He frowned, then looked to Olivia. They were understandably stressed, but Kurama was trying to figure out the best way to describe what they all just saw. He didn't want to have to erase these two memories… but that might be on the table if he didn't tread carefully.

"You don't think we deserve some sort of response after that?" She pointed to the balcony door.

Making a face, Kurama cocked his head to the side while he took a moment. "Deserve?" He questioned as he looked to her directly, unbothered by their demands.

She glared, not having seen this side of Kurama yet.

"Look, Kurama. I don't care what Haly says, but, you don't have to be here. If you're going to keep attracting…" He hesitated as he looked to the door, not sure what words to pick. "Danger. Then, I'm not sure you should be hanging around."

"Well, unfortunately you don't have a choice, detective." Kurama kept his face neutral as his eyes now shifted to him. He realized it was time to show his cards, he was here to stay.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He recoiled.

Markus had finished stress cleaning and was sitting down. He rubbed his head while he listened, realizing maybe he should've warned better. But, as much as he'd already told them they weren't willing to listen… so here they were.

"I've been assigned to the case. I have no choice either." He kept his expression blank, irritated with having to say it out loud. "And I have far more knowledge on what's going on than you and Olivia—I can fill in the gaps as much as I'm able to. But, at the same time I can only share so much." He spoke quicker so no one would interrupt.

"Us?" She pointed to herself and Amaro. "So, Haly does know something." She looked to him; disappointment clear.

"I fucking told you it's not my shit to share." He glared at her.

"You too scared to talk?" Amaro leaned back against a desk, still cross his arms as he challenged Markus. He was getting worked up, and Kurama could tell he was uneasy.

Markus leaned back in his chair as he chuckled out in annoyance but kept his gaze on the floor, now rubbing his hair back. "Yeah. I think so." He looked back to Amaro, obviously pissed with his attitude, but realizing knowing more than these two was not what he wanted. He wasn't even sure if they were safe anymore. "I'm following his lead." He barely moved his head toward Kurama, then sighed in defeated.

Amaro frowned, surprised by that response. Then looked to Kurama again. "Who the hell was that?"

"Nick." Olivia tried to calm her partner.

"No. I'm tired of no answers, fuckin' talk, or you're out."

Markus shook his head as he rubbed his face. And Kurama sighed. "Again, I apologize. But, you can't remove me from this case."

"Who the hell was that?" He threw his hands up.

"Hiei."

"You said that."

Olivia turned to Amaro, "Nick, why don't we step back a little."

He glared in offense to her. "No! He said let's be more forward, so I'm being forward."

Kurama smirked.

Amaro glared at him, taking that reaction the wrong way. "What the fuck are you?" Kurama could tell he was on edge, maybe realizing what Markus had been saying had some truth to it. Or, he was sharper than most and sensed something else.

"What do you mean?" Kurama asked coolly.

"You're either a liar, or…"

"I wouldn't fuck with him." Markus interrupted nervously.

Amaro snapped his head over to Markus, looking even more irritated now as a sweat was obvious on his skin. "Like you? He actually do that to you?" He pointed to his own wrist.

"Yes, Nick. He did." Markus said so seriously it took Kurama off guard. Now both detectives were trying to calm him.

Olivia tried again. "Nick."

"No." He glared at her, so she finally held her hands up and stood.

Kurama understood their panic, Hiei is intense. And he himself was different… he had just finished asking them to be direct—so, he did appreciate and had to admire how Amaro was acting, even if he was entirely clueless.

"Answer my question. Please." Amaro looked to him again, on edge, but his anger was in charge.

Kurama barely kept a smile back from his demands. "Which one?"

"Who is Shuichi?" He challenged.

Kurama sighed as he looked away in irritation. "I am."

"Which one is your real name?"

"Both." He looked back to him.

He shook his head. "That's not how it works."

"For me, that is how it works." He felt bad, so he'd humor him—but that could make things worse.

"What are you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Are you actually CIA?"

Kurama blinked, surprised by that question, but assumed Amaro wanted the answer to be 'civilian', instead of agent. "Technically, yes." He glanced to Markus, who looked back at him with worry.

Amaro glared. "I'm not playin'."

"Neither am I, detective."

"You're too young to be with the CIA."

"Apparently not." He forced a small, yet sarcastic smile.

"You're fucking lying to us!" He snapped as he stepped closer.

Kurama had to give it to him, he'd been keeping his eye on him this entire time. Obviously something was off. "I can't prove anything to you, but I'm sure your superiors have been notified that the SRS branch is now involved. That's how we work—we aren't supposed exist. So, I apologize, but you have to take me for what I am."

He laughed. "I don't do that."

"I can see that." He smiled more real this time, admiring his courage to challenge.

"Don't patronize me. Now who was that?" He pointed to the door.

Kurama sighed and looked to Olivia who was listening intently, then glancing to Markus again while he thought. Koenma had already pissed him off, and now he learned that he'd been keeping vital information from him about Yusuke. So, until he was stopped, he'd try to sneak around the rules as much as he was able to. He didn't want to have to erase memories… but, he hated the fact he had to lie so much already. He'd rather just be up front and answer what he could, even if it was vague. Koenma wasn't fair the last mission involving these disgusting humans, so this time it was his turn to bend some rules.

"His name is Hiei, as I said. He's an old friend of mine that ended up working with me and our team. He no longer lives around here, or works with us, but it seems he cut a deal with my director in order to get somewhat involved."

"This case?"

"I think…" He frowned, still wondering what his motive was.

Olivia looked confused. "You don't know why he's here?"

"He said several things that were cryptic—so again, I'm not sure. Maybe to help my teammate, but..." Markus looked up to him, surprised he was talking so openly suddenly.

Olivia listened intently, nervous to hear what was coming, and unsure how to accept whatever it may be. "To help Yusuke?" She asked.

Kurama glanced to her, then back to Amaro. "Yes. Possibly to help Yusuke."

"What's he got to do with this?"

"I just found out he's missing. Which…" He set his teeth. "Shouldn't happen, especially with the people I work for. He's intentionally hiding."

Olivia frowned and Amaro looked confused. "What's that got to with shorty?"

Kurama chuckled. "Again, that's one of the reasons he gave for his visit." He frowned.

"So, Yusuke and Hiei are also teammates?" Olivia put it together.

"They were, yes." He made sure to glance at Markus, checking in on his status. He was quietly listening, obviously intimidated by the fact Hiei was a demon.

"Do you know him, Haly?" She asked accusatorily.

Markus frowned, sitting up straighter. "The short guy? Fuck no."

"Why was he talking to you so much then?"

Shaking his head again, he sighed then looked to Kurama. "I don't know—why was he?"

He snapped a glare at Markus. "I think you know." He wasn't going to waste his time with their sexual drama.

"Your stench is all over him?" Olivia gave a look to Kurama, then looked to Markus with the same expression.

Markus glanced at her as he swallowed, then looked to Kurama for help.

"You two lied to me."

"No." Kurama looked to the ground, ignoring Markus gaze. "It was true when we spoke."

She recoiled, looking disgusted. "OH! So you just took advantage of him last night?" She raised her voice as she directed her anger toward Markus.

Surprisingly, Markus didn't move as he tried his hardest not to respond immediately. She was clueless as to what she was saying, but he also didn't want to fuck anything up between him and Kurama. "You have no clue what you're talkin' about." He said firm yet calm as he glared.

"Obviously a little clue, since I asked you guys if you were sleeping together… and you weren't until last night?"

Amaro made a face, clearly uncomfortable and Kurama looked to Markus, starting to feel annoyed himself.

"Yeah so what, you're not stupid. We have history." Markus grinded out. "And I'll say it again, he may have been victimized by some creep… but you have no idea what you're talking about."

She glared, now frowning openly.

Amaro chuckled out sarcastically. "Apparently you don't either."

"Enough." Kurama raised his voice. "No one was taken advantage of." He gave a sharp look to Olivia, then moved his eyes over to Amaro. "And you may want to be careful with the words you choose next." He could tell Amaro was about to blow, the stress was oozing from him.

"The' fuck?" He spat out a laugh, smiling with irritation. "You giving me orders again?"

"You were smart to obey." He slipped that word in, feeling irritated now as this conversation drained their time—when all he could think about was Yusuke. "It would've been stupid to draw your weapon; someone could've gotten injured." Kurama spoked with more authority this time.

"How!?" Amaro challenged again, stress clear on him.

He gave him a sarcastically sympathetic look. "Did you see him enter the building, detective?"

Amaro stared, opening his mouth to speak but then closed it as he stared in disbelief. Kurama's response was confirmation on what he saw… or really, didn't see. But, whatever just happened all four of them where here to experience it.

"What did we see?" Olivia was attempting to calm herself.

Kurama looked to her. "Exactly what you think you did."

Glaring, she sighed out in frustration as she stood. "So you expect us to just take that at face value, no elaboration allowed?"

"Yes, I do." He frowned, not caring if he came off cold anymore.

"He flew through the room!" She threw her hand out toward the door, "And there aren't any stairs out there!"

"No one is arguing with you, Olivia." Kurama said deeper, making sure to stay serious.

"I've fucking said it already. I'm scared too, but coming from me, you should fucking listen to him." Markus finally spoke up again, now motioning toward Kurama. "I'll repeat. He could kill all three of us right now, so wouldn't you wanna follow smartest and the strongest?" He glared at Amaro, pissed himself.

Amaro spit a laughed as he looked away again, "Unbelievable."

"Then fight him." Markus spat out.

Kurama glared over to him—this man never asked for permission.

Amaro glared in offense. "No."

"Scared?"

"No." He curled his lip.

"Then what's the problem?"

"Guys." Olivia tried to stop where this was going.

"Would you?" Markus ignored her and looked to Kurama.

"I'm not sure how that would help." He was annoyed Markus suggested it.

"Uh… you'd whoop his ass and then he'd shut up and believes what I've been saying." He was obviously holding back some resentment.

"Woah, no one is beating anyone's ass." Olivia snapped out, as she looked to Amaro.

"Okay." Amaro was done, he had it with this little game Markus was playing. "If you're so amazing, let me try to get a hit in."

Kurama sighed, knowing he'd passed his point already. "I don't play games." He glared at Markus.

"Oh okay, so you don't wanna show me after all? You said you'd show me how you did that to Haly."

Markus frowned, looking to Kurama with slight betrayal. Kurama made a face then rolled his eyes. "He asked."

"Cause he doesn't believe it."

"Cleary…"

"Well, fuckin' show him." He shrugged, not sure if he should be requesting that.

Kurama sighed. He just had a talk with them, and now they were challenging his validity again, and apparently this was something to prove if he was trustworthy? It didn't make sense to him, but as long as he didn't hurt Amaro he didn't see the harm in it.

"Fine. You can try to hit me." He cocked his head to the side. "But, don't get angry if you get hurt."

"Nick, I don't think this is a good idea." Olivia glared at him, obviously trying to tell him to stop.

"Just let me, Liv. You don't buy it either! So, I'll be the guinea pig!"

She sighed out, clearly irritated. "This whole day has gone to shit."

He took his gun off him and placed it on his desk. Then took his blazer off as well before facing Kurama. "I'm tired of the talk, I wanna find out for sure." He responded to his partner but gave all his attention to Kurama. At least he was taking him serious enough to be fully guarded.

Kurama sighed as he looked to the side in annoyance, this was petty. "Ready?" Kurama looked back to him.

"Yeah." He put his guard up as his breathing picked up some, pumping himself up.

Markus leaned forward to rest his elbow on his knee, placing his hand onto his mouth. He felt stress, hoping Kurama wouldn't be too rough on him—but at the same time, hoping he'd get the idiot to shut up. He glanced at Olivia, and she looked back at him while shaking her head, then they both gave their attention to the two.

"Okay. I'm not holding back."

Kurama was still standing normally. "That's fine."

Amaro was hesitant but looked all over Kurama; trying to find anything he could use against him. He moved forward some and shifted his weight. Kurama gave no reaction as Amaro continued to try to get a read on Kurama's skill level. Kurama wasn't giving him anything, so he finally decided to just go for it. He stepped forward, quickly punching toward his face with full force. Kurama was a little surprised the man wasn't holding back, but it made him smile, regardless.

Right as his hand got close, Kurama stepped back with ease. Gliding out of the way of Amaro's fist and moving his foot out in front of him, as he continued forward, tripping him easily. Amaro almost fell but caught himself as he grit his teeth now quickly turning, faster than Kurama assumed—again, amusing him. Maybe he boxed? His stance was similar to a boxer.

Amaro swung again, faster this time. He had a good form, but he was just too slow. This time Kurama looked him in the eyes, cockiness showing as he flashed him a pretty smirk. After that he squatted with speed, easily sweep kicking the man's legs out from under him. Amaro fell to his side, but before he hit the ground Kurama felt his adrenaline kick in. It felt good to be in a fight, but he was realizing at the moment that he was tired of this. A twinge of anger came as his thoughts went to Yusuke again, they were in this building playing games. All while Yusuke was somewhere, for some reason, Sakyo was working on shit that was so messed up… they needed to stop goofing off and take things more seriously. Now he was thankful for this demonstration. They'd hopefully both shut up and focus on what was important, instead focusing on him.

He took in a breath and once Amaro's back hit the ground he reached down to the detective's belt, undoing it with haste as Amaro rolled away from him and stood again. The noise of Kurama pulling the belt back was sharp and snapped loudly as his arm flew back to wind up. Amaro looked stunned and before he could register that Kurama took his belt, Kurama was already using it. He whipped his arm forward quickly, getting a sharp hit in Amaro's direction, allowing the tip of the belt to swipe the inside of Amaro's thigh. Of course he used the leathered end, not wanting to break any bones.

"Oh my god!" Olivia yelled out as Amaro fell back and held his leg, looking up to Kurama in astonishment.

But, Kurama wasn't finished. He stepped forward as Amaro's thigh began to bleed and swung the belt again to whip Amaro's hand that held his leg—again, striking hard enough to split his skin. Amaro yelled out as he backed up, and with that hit Kurama praised the poor man in his head. He at least attempted to block the third hit as Kurama he snapped it toward him once more. The leather barely licked the side of the detectives neck. The speed of his last swing made the belt whistle, and the strength behind it made the leather tip as sharp as a blade. Once it hit, Amaro's skin was already trickling blood down his neck. He made eye contact with Kurama once more, and Kurama could see his fear.

Kurama hit two vital spots within seconds, and he still wasn't done. He would make him regret asking for this. He walked toward him as he threw the belt to the side, then reached out to grab the wrist that he was using to hold his neck. He pulled it out and around his back, twisting it up into a painful hold as he once more swept the detectives legs out from under him. He made sure to go fast, but not too hard to cause any severe damage. Amaro groaned out in pain as Kurama slammed him into the ground, now pinning him on his back, holding the wrist he just grabbed. One of his legs stretched up with ease now pinning Amaro's other wrist with his foot. His other leg's knee dug into the man's hip joint, and his free hand moved down to gently hold the Amaro's neck.

Claiming victory.

The thud of Amaro being slammed into the ground almost echoed, and suddenly it was quiet. Kurama's demeanor hadn't changed much, but Amaro's breathing was quick, scared, and exhausted after getting beaten so quickly. Kurama leaned in toward him, as close as he wanted, showing them he wasn't afraid of contact. He was nose to nose with Amaro as he studied his eyes, seeing how honest they were—he smiled as his hand on the man's neck stayed loose but threatening.

Olivia yelled out and held her face in shock, and Markus moved toward them in panic—holding his hand on his mouth in stress.

"Oh my god! Nick are you okay!?" She didn't approach them, and Markus stayed along with her.

Amaro kept his attention on Kurama, not seeming to hear his partner. Kurama softly stroked his neck. "Are you alright?" he asked in a hushed voice, finally patronizing for real.

He was breathing hard still and didn't break eye contact. "Yeah." He whispered, obviously in pain as he tried to control his breathing while nodding minimally—still feeling Kurama's hand on his neck.

Kurama's hair fell down off his back, next to Amaro's face, tickling it. He didn't dare move, but clearly it was taking him a minute to gather himself after what just happened. Kurama looked him up and down, then stared back up into his eyes. He gave him a serious expression this time, feeling tired of the attitude they'd been giving him. Amaro cringed due to the painful hold, but remained still as he stared back at Kurama.

"Are we good now?" He barely spoke; but deepened his voice in order for Amaro to feel it.

He swallowed and nodded. "We're good."

He didn't move right away while he continued to stare into those eyes, Kurama realized he hadn't felt power like this in forever. And even though he could easily kill everyone… like Markus kept saying, this was too easy. But, enjoyable none the less. He finally smiled again as he leaned in even closer. He breathed out hot air onto Amaro's mouth just as he pulled back, and as he stood he made sure his hair spilled over his face… just for his own enjoyment.

"Good god." Olivia said as she went to attend to her partner, "I told you not to." She snipped at him as she grabbed tissues from her desk nearby to wipe up the blood that was trickling out of the cut on his neck.

"Jeez." Markus stepped next to Kurama as they watched the two.

Kurama looked to him, then back to the two. "I thought you'd enjoy that."

Markus cringe with a bit of guilt mixed in. "Well, I—" He frowned, "I did. But, I guess I forgot how scary you can be." He smirked to him, clearly proud by what Kurama did.

"Oh, you feel bad now?" He glared at him in annoyance.

He chuckled out, "No. You just amazed me…again." He shook his head in disbelief. "You whipped him with his own belt." He laughed nervously, as he crossed his arms, then quickly brough one hand up to his mouth as he couldn't look away from Amaro.

Kurama took in a breath and let out an annoyed sigh. "It's all superficial. He'll be fine."

Markus' eyes widened. "Yeah sure, his neck will heal. But his balls will take a while."

Kurama just rubbed his forehead again, not sure how to reply to that.
