It was 19 Years Ago...
A young Sabrina sits on her bed alone, staring blankly at the wall before her. It's a cold winter evening and the wind outside is howling fiercely. Snow falls heavily through the sky and covers the ground below while the trees sway side to side. There's a chill in the air that causes goosebumps on her skin but she doesn't pay any attention to it. Instead, she continues gazing at nothing in particular with her mind completely numb.
She was a Psyorg, among one of the few that still remain. Her mother and father had disappeared from her life years before due to unknown circumstances and left her on her own. They left her a large inheritance that included all of their wealth and property which meant she would live comfortably for the rest of her days, however, money couldn't fill the hole left behind by their absence.
In the distance, thunder booms loudly as it echoes across the night sky. Lightning flashes bright lights across the room, illuminating every corner. The storm has intensified now and the rain begins pounding against the windows relentlessly. Sabrina can hear it hammering against the roof and walls around her, causing her to flinch involuntarily.
The place she lived in was in the far reaches of Kanto, a place that looked rather rundown from the outside. On the inside though, it looked like a mansion belonging to someone of nobility. It had large rooms decorated beautifully with expensive furniture, paintings, and other decorations that made it look like a palace.
All of these things were only a front as Sabrina's true home was a tower that stood tall in the middle of the forest near the outskirts of a city. She used this tower to train herself in the ways of being a psychic user, something that became easier since she inherited the powers of her kind.
Sabrina continued sitting on her bed unmoving, her thoughts becoming darker as time passed. The image of her parents vanishing from her life forever haunted her dreams every day and night. She was all alone in this town as it was incredibly, empty.
She was the only one here besides a handful of people who came by occasionally to see how she was doing and make sure everything was fine. It wasn't enough for her though as they never stayed long after arriving, leaving her with nothing more than a cold house and lonely nights spent crying by herself.
Sabrina felt a strong surge of emotions within her heart and began sobbing uncontrollably. Tears ran down her cheeks as she buried her face into the sheets, weeping quietly. Her whole body trembled violently as she cried harder than ever before.
A woman would enter the bedroom, having sensed what was going on in here. Her eyes were closed and she wore a black cloak that hid her appearance completely. She approached Sabrina slowly until she reached the edge of her bed, standing in front of her. She placed a hand atop her head, gently stroking her hair before speaking in an ethereal voice. "Child..."
"What do you want? Go away!" Sabrina whimpered between hiccuping breaths.
"It is not my intention to upset you further, young one." The woman said as she sat beside Sabrina on the bed. "I am here because I have come to offer you a chance at happiness once more."
"H-How?" Sabrina sniffled while wiping away tears with the sleeve of her nightgown.
The woman pulled out a small red orb that emitted a gentle glow from its surface. "This contains within it a piece of your soul which you shall absorb and keep with you forever. It's one of the last known items that belonged to the Psyorgs." She held it up in front of her, letting its radiance fill the room. "Its energy will bring about a rebirth within you and you will become something far greater than any human or Pokemon could ever hope to achieve."
Sabrina stared at the glowing ball in awe as it filled her mind with visions of herself transforming into something incredible. Images of powerful Psychic Aura surrounding her along with wings sprouting out of her back and taking flight filled her head. She wanted this more than anything else in the world right now because she was sick and tired of being lonely every single day for years. "I...accept. Give it to me!" She held her hand out and reached forward eagerly.
The woman pulled out a small red orb that emitted a gentle glow from its surface. "This contains within it a piece of your soul which you shall absorb and keep with you forever. It's one of the last known items that belonged to the Psyorgs." She held it up in front of her, letting its radiance fill the room. "I figured that you should keep it as a way of remembering your heritage."
Sabrina looked at it curiously, wondering what kind of magic or powers this item possessed. "But why are you giving me this, ma'am?"
"Well..." The woman sighed. "Sabrina. You're the last known Psyorg in the world. I and those protecting you would hate to see you in such a saddened state. We want to make you as happy a possible and wish for you to be free from this loneliness that plagues you so dearly."
"Really? That's nice of you. Thank you." She smiled weakly at her words, taking hold of the object before staring intently at it. It looked beautiful but held unknown potential within itself.
The mysterious figure watched her stare at the orb and could tell how much value it held within. Sabrina held it close to her chest as she lay down on her side, looking straight ahead at nothing. There was silence between them for several minutes before Sabrina spoke again. "What will become of me then?"
"You shall live the rest of your days in peace with your new life as an Auravale citizen. We'll ensure that no threat to your life will ever happen. Those that want to hunt you down for being a descendant of the Psyorgs won't find their way here anytime soon."
"Okay." Sabrina nodded to herself, understanding what was being told to her.
"One last thing before we part ways. I need you to promise me something."
"Hm?" The Young Sabrina rolled onto her back, looking up at her curiously.
"When you wake up tomorrow morning, I need you to go outside and visit the garden of flowers nearby." She instructed.
Sabrina nodded again. "Alright."
"Promise me, Sabrina." The woman stared deeply into Sabrina's eyes.
"I promise, ma'am." She smiled brightly.
"Good girl." With that, the woman stood up, pulling her hood over her head before turning around. "Until next time, child." She vanished into thin air.
Sabrina was left alone once more, lying there with the orb still in her hands. After a few moments passed, she yawned loudly, closing her eyes while holding the ball against her chest tightly. A warmth filled her heart as she drifted off to sleep. She dreamed of becoming something greater and maybe even reuniting with another Psyorg in the world. This thought made her feel warm and fuzzy inside, causing her to smile softly.
But then, as a new day dawned, it happened. A mysterious explosion occurred within this hidden location, destroying parts of it entirely. People were sent flying everywhere from the shockwave while buildings collapsed upon themselves and fire raged across the streets. However, Sabrina herself ran out of the house with an intense fear that took hold of her heart, knowing full well what might happen if she stayed behind.
Her home had been attacked by someone or something who didn't wish to see her alive any longer. They were forces from the Auravale Empire that were after her, tracking down her location after discovering a connection to the Psyorgs.
Now they were here and trying to kill her without hesitation. The group wore red cloaks over their bodies that hid their appearance completely while having powerful Pokemon beside them such as Houndoom and Arbok.
The mysterious woman would appear right as they went after Sabrina, sending out her Vespiquen to try and stop them. The hive-like creature screeched angrily as it flew toward them but they shot at it with their guns before launching energy beams. Their attacks struck it hard and caused the Vespiquen to crash into the ground where it lay motionless on its side. It wasn't long until an Aerodactyl swooped down and grabbed Sabrina from the ground with its massive claws.
"Kyah!" The young Sabrina cried out, clinging onto its legs tightly while looking back at her ruined home and family legacy. Tears streamed down her cheeks as the Pokemon carried her away into the sky and out of sight. The last thing she saw was one of the masked assailants charging towards her former guardian.
"Ah! Sabrina!" The woman cried out.
Aerodactyl flew fast through the clouds above until it reached a certain point far above land. It hovered in midair for several seconds before being struck by an Air Slash from a Swellow that appeared next to it. The Pokemon let go of Sabrina, making her fall straight down towards the ground below. As she plummeted, she couldn't help but wonder if she was going to die here and now. She closed her eyes tightly, hoping to make her descent quick so she wouldn't suffer much longer than she already had.
Thankfully, the Swellow belonged to those who wished to protect her, swooping down to catch Sabrina in time. The Pokemon held onto her small frame gently as she sobbed uncontrollably against its feathery body. Swellow flew onward carrying her further away until eventually stopping near a forest where a figure stood waiting. A man wearing black armor with his face covered completely except for his red eyes stared up at them while holding a strange golden sphere in hand.
"There you are...Last of the Psyorgs." The man said in a cold voice. He raised his free hand toward Sabrina, causing a wave of dark energy to flow toward her. Sabrina screamed loudly while Swellow went to protect her. However, swiftly Swellow would be knocked down by a sudden burst of psychic energy before it crashed hard into the ground below. It lay there unconscious with blood oozing from its mouth, having taken serious damage from the attack.
"Swellow!" Sabrina exclaimed. Her vision blurred as tears welled up in her eyes as she watched the Pokemon struggle weakly on the floor. Other people came to Sabrina's rescue as quickly as possible during all this chaos. There was another girl in red armor who rushed forward and threw a Pokeball towards the attacker. "Hariyama, go!" An imposing Pokemon emerged from the ball and charged forth at its opponent.
"Vigoroth! Use Scratch!" The man shouted out while pointing towards them. Another Pokemon suddenly appeared beside him and launched itself towards Hariyama with incredible speed before slashing across its chest hard. Hariyama staggered back but refused to give up just yet.
"Use Focus Punch!" The woman commanded, ordering her Pokemon to launch an attack against him. The Pokemon roared as its fist glowed white and swung its arm at full force, smashing Vigoroth head-on into a tree nearby. This left it stunned momentarily as Hariyama prepared to finish the job.
"Now grab it!" The armored figure yelled out once more. Before anyone could react, Hariyama found itself lifted high off the ground by invisible forces while being wrapped around like rope. Everyone present watched helplessly as the Pokemon thrashed violently against its invisible restraints. Soon enough, the poor thing passed out and fell unconscious onto the dirt below with its limbs still tied together tightly.
The mysterious man then looked over to where Sabrina sat crying loudly. "You should have known better than to go against us, little girl." He spat angrily. His eyes were filled with disgust and hatred towards her kind, finding them a burden on society and needed to be dealt with accordingly.
Sabrina couldn't stop herself from sobbing hysterically as she felt powerless against these men who wanted to kill her. She continued weeping loudly even when someone approached from behind and placed their hand on her shoulder gently.
"Hey, don't worry." A familiar voice spoke softly into her ear. Sabrina opened her eyes slowly and glanced back at the one speaking, instantly recognizing the woman from before. The one who came to her last night. She stood before the man who tried to kill Sabrina, having her Vespiquen try and stop him with absolutely everything. "Vespiquen! Attack Order!"
Vespiquen sent a barrage of smaller bugs at the man who effortlessly brushed them aside with his energy wave. Sabrina could feel the woman's heart beating rapidly inside her chest. It seemed like she was terrified for the both of them.
"Why do you protect her?!" The man demanded furiously while sending another blast toward her. Vespiquen managed to block this one as well but was beginning to tire out quickly due to how many hits she had taken recently.
"Because it's my duty to watch over the remaining few Psyorgs out there and keep them safe from people like yourself!" The woman responded bravely, staring him down fearlessly even though it meant certain death. "Vespiquen! Use Attack Order once more!"
The Beehive Pokemon then released a swarm of glowing insects directly towards him. This time, however, they flew right past the man and instead struck at some unseen targets in the distance. The result was a series of explosions which shook the trees around them violently while creating a loud booming noise. A large cloud of dust rose up high above them followed by smoke billowing from the forest floor.
After several seconds passed, nothing happened except for silence filling the air around them. Sabrina slowly opened her eyes again and noticed the woman had fallen to her knees, her body twitching uncontrollably before eventually collapsing forward.
"It's done." The man stated emotionlessly. His gaze then shifted back towards Sabrina, causing her heart to race wildly within her chest once more. "Now where was I?"
"Sabrina...R-Run!" The woman weakly cried out, Sabrina wanted to respond but couldn't find any words coming out from her mouth. The man felt atwitch as he felt the force of the explosion too, but not as much as the women.
"Hmph. Think you have hope?" The man approached the woman as Sabrina stood there in shock. He grinned, grabbing the woman by her hair and lifting her head off the ground, smirking deviously. "Take a good long look, Psyorg. Watch as any hope you had of anyone else protecting you comes to end." He then removed the the top of the woman's cloak, revealing her face to everyone present. "We'll be taking this one back with us. I know plenty of Nobles that would love to spend time with her."
"Tch..." The woman's eyes narrowed upon seeing this sight before her very eyes. Sabrina noticed tears running down her cheeks as she struggled to keep herself conscious.
"I will make sure that she is well taken care of, don't worry. In fact, before a noble gets the chance, I'll spare some time before ending you." The man chuckled darkly, planning to violate her in front of Sabrina just to stun her even more than she already was.
"Please, Sabrina...Run away from here...!" The woman groaned, struggling to fight against the man's grip as he placed his hands all over her. "I promise you...There will be others like you out there somewhere! People who will t-try and keep you safe...So please...You must escape!"
But Sabrina couldn't move. She watched helplessly as the man tore at the woman's clothes until she laid bare underneath him. It was horrible watching how he grabbed hold of her chest roughly, squeezing them hard before licking his lips hungrily. The woman bit down on her lip as he spread her legs open wide and positioned himself between them. Tears flowed freely from her eyes as he pushed himself into her, thrusting wildly while groaning loudly.
She gasped loudly when he reached up to grab her neck, choking her tightly. "Hah...It seems like someone enjoyed herself. I'll make this quick so don't worry. Let's see you give her hope after this."
"You…!" The woman whimpered weakly, trying her best to fight against the pain but failing miserably. Her breathing became shallow and ragged while she continued to gasp for air desperately.
Sabrina watched it all happen. The woman who took care of her, wanting happiness for her, was getting violated right in front of her eyes. The sight of the man torturing her made Sabrina's heart sink. He wasn't holding back at all, either. In fact, he seemed to be enjoying himself immensely with every inch of his hands moving across her body.
And due to what happened to everyone who tried to protect her and the state of her home, it happened. Sabrina snapped. Her pupils flashed as she let out a bloodcurdling scream, followed by an outstanding burst of Psychic Energy.
"NOOOOOOO!" She bellowed as the Psychic Energy expanded, causing the man to gasp loudly in surprise. Then, in a flash, he went flying backward across the ground before colliding with a nearby tree trunk.
A massive amount of energy exploded forth from Sabrina's body and engulfed everything around them instantly. The blast ripped apart trees and threw rocks through the air while creating a violent whirlwind that tore up the surrounding area.
All the forces of the Auravale Empire who stood over the people they mercilessly killed watched in shock as the powerful wave of energy flew towards them rapidly.
Sabrina saw nothing else except red after that moment, unleashing a devastating display of power and destruction. Trees were thrown left and right while flames erupted everywhere. It looked like hell itself had descended upon this place. When it was over, only ashes remained where once stood homes, buildings and life.
As it all cleared, all the Auravale Forces had their minds attacked because of this outburst.
"S-Sabrina..." The woman whispered softly as she gazed up at the young girl who sat motionless on top of a pile of rubble. Her body trembled violently while tears poured from her eyes. "You did well."
Sabrina said nothing back. She just stared at her surroundings blankly while breathing heavily. A small trail of blood trickled down from one side of her mouth as she slowly raised her head up to stare directly into the sky above her. "I...I'm sorry...I'm sorry for being a burden!" Her voice cracked as she began crying hysterically. Her hands covered her face as she sobbed loudly, wishing that things could've gone differently for her.
"It's fine...It's not over for you yet." The woman's body was beginning to fail her, but she made sure to speak some more. "There is someone that will find you out there and make your future bright again. I can feel it. There's a prophecy about a certain boy born with a strong connection to Celestials. The one whose name was lost in time. The Star Champion."
The word 'Star Champion' caused Sabrina to freeze in place as if she couldn't believe what she heard. "S-Star Ch-Champion...?" She repeated quietly, sniffling between each syllable.
"And I stick by what I said...You will meet others like you..." The woman's eyes were slowly closing. "I swear it on my life. And when you meet them...cherish them... to the very end." Those were her last words before finally passing away peacefully without another utterance.
Everything that Sabrina held dear had been taken away from her, leaving her alone and heartbroken. She could only hope that someday she would find someone out there willing to help her achieve her goal of getting revenge on those responsible for this tragedy. That person had to be the Star Champion himself, whoever he was.
She sat there near the woman who looked out for her, sobbing and remaining on her lonesome while everyone else had perished. Minutes passed, turning into hours as the day went by. Sabrina did not move from that spot.
But that was when he came.
The hand of Lance reached out, extending his help to her. She saw him as an ally, one who wished to protect her and keep her safe. He promised to give her a new life, somewhere far away where no one could hurt her ever again. She accepted his offer, believing wholeheartedly that things would finally be okay after everything that happened to her.
Sabrina thought about all of that in her mind, remembering why she was doing all of this and directing it towards the Star Champion. It was something that had remained strong even up till today. The desire for revenge against those responsible for ruining her life as well as killing her family. She knew that if she succeeded then maybe, just maybe, the weight on her shoulders might disappear one day.
"For the sake of my lineage...Star Champion! I will succeed in my goal with you!" Sabrina exclaimed, the Energy Silhouette of herself flaring with amazing power as she spoke. Her Aura was also rising as she was about to perform a spectacular attack for everyone to see.
"Wooh...That's some power." Ash muttered under his breath with a smirk. He prepared to counter this upcoming onslaught and get rid of any chance for defeat
Sabrina raised both hands above her head. "My Alakazam shall crush you and your Gengar!" She declared confidently. "Now then...use Psychic." With one word uttered by its Trainer, Alakazam's psychic powers burst forth, rippling the air itself violently around it. Its gaze locked onto Gengar who stood before it as a target.
Suddenly, an immense wave of energy surged outward toward Gengar. The ghost-type was completely surrounded by it. This energy lifted Gengar off of the ground while lifting Sabrina higher as well, causing her to float high above everyone. Sabrina closed her eyes as she focused on her opponent's movements intently. Then, without warning, the entire battlefield exploded with another wave of force coming from the duo.
The audience watched in awe as sparks flew everywhere throughout the field. They were amazed by how powerful these two Pokemon appeared to be. It looked like neither side wanted to back down from their current positions.
"This power is incredible!" Nessa's jaw dropped at what she witnessed unfolding before her. "I've never seen such intense fighting between two Pokemon before!"
Bea nodded in agreement. "Indeed." She said calmly while watching intently as well. "It's outstanding!"
Meanwhile, Sabrina opened her eyes and stared straight downwards towards Gengar who was still suspended in midair by telekinetic forces. She believed she could win this match as long as she remained focused. However, she noticed something odd happening to her Alakazam. It seemed like every time she attempted to focus more energy into her attacks, more power started being drained away from her body. The reason behind this phenomenon wasn't clear to her though since there didn't appear to be anything physically wrong with it.
Ash narrowed his eyes, noticing the same thing Sabrina was seeing. He recognized that Gengar was using the leftover psychic energy from Alakazam's previous moves against her. Every single ounce of Psychic Power used in order to hold Gengar up was being stolen and turned into additional power. Even better, he could see that his Pokemon had the ability to absorb the Psychic Energy around them.
"Alright! Just as planned!" Ash muttered under his breath with a smirk.
"Tch! I see you've noticed my dilemma, Star Champion. But how?! How I was sure that I...?!" Sabrina grunted while sweat dripped off her brow.
Ash grinned as he knew she had no clue how it worked. "Gengar absorbs the Psychic energy around him, amplifying its own. So every bit of energy you waste on trying to pin him down is just making it stronger."
"N-No way!" Sabrina exclaimed in disbelief. "There's no such thing as such an absurd concept as that!"
"Hehehe!" Ash chuckled while grinning. "Pretty neat, right? Gengar can be pretty vulnerable to Psychic-Types, so this helps a bunch. Now, Gengar! Use Shadow Ball!"
Gengar formed a dark sphere of energy in his hands before launching it straight toward Alakazam. The ball collided with Alakazam's chest, sending a violent shockwave across the stadium floor. Everyone gasped in surprise at the amount of force behind this single strike alone. It left them wondering if Alakazam could withstand such power even after being hit head-on by it.
The audience erupted with cheers as Ash Ketchum was now the clear winner. It didn't take long for Sabrina to realize what happened either. She let go of her focus completely, allowing Gengar to fall back towards the ground where it landed gracefully on its feet. Meanwhile, Alakazam struggled to remain upright, struggling to maintain consciousness after enduring such a devastating blow.
Everyone in attendance applauded loudly at this victory while Sabrina's second Poke Ball fell. She wasn't even thinking about summoning her next Pokemon for another chance. That singlehandedly caused her accept defeat.
"He won again!" Nessa cheered happily along with Bea and Misty while Brock nodded his head with a smile.
"As to be expected from the Star Champion!" Bea commented.
Ash smiled brightly upon hearing that before returning his attention towards the center of the field once more. "Thanks, Gengar. Take a good long rest!" He called out while recalling his loyal friend back into its Pokeball safely. Sabrina closed her eyes slowly as she recalled her Alakazam, too, ending the battle with her defeat.
"I should've known better. Such a majestic attack, easily overpowered and defeated by a simple Shadow Ball." Sabrina's body quivered slightly when she realized just how much stronger Ash's Pokemon really were compared to hers.
"You're not hurt or anything, are you?" Ash asked with concern evident in his voice.
"No, I'm fine," Sabrina reassured him calmly while placing a hand onto her chest. "Star Champion...Please accept my humble apology!" She suddenly bowed her head kneeling to the ground, surprising Ash greatly. "I was a fool to battle you! I should have known that I would've lost!
"Huh? No need to do that! It was fun that's all that matters!" Ash smiled brightly towards her while holding out one arm towards her. "You did your best and that's all I could ever ask for!"
Sabrina blinked rapidly as she felt a mixture of emotions flooding through her mind right now. She didn't know how to react to such kindness being shown towards her after being humiliated like that. But before she knew it, tears formed around her eyes while staring straight ahead at Ash's smiling face. Those eyes looked directly into his own, causing her heart rate to increase dramatically. "I...I only wished to fulfil my legacy. Forgive me for attempting to force my body upon you."
"Don't sweat it." Ash forgave her, but there was one thing he had to say. "That power of yours...No wonder you're a Psyorg."
"Y-Yes. And I believed that if we were to mate, then I could potentially revive the Psyorgs. I want to believe that there are more like me...but I have not seen them at all. I do not wish to be alone in this world, so having more like me would fill that void." Sabrina explained.
"E-Eh?! She was going to what?!" A woman said as Sabrina did not hold back her words, stunning many in the crowd.
"It was a desperate plan, but I thought if I became pregnant with the child of the Star Champion, it'd bring honor back to our legacy!"
Ash nodded, knowing the pain of losing both parents, feeling like she lost everything important in life. "Hm. Can I do something for a moment? Sabrina. Would you let me look into your mind? You won't have to say anything. Just...let me take a quick peek at your memories to understand your story more. I don't wanna use my abilities without permission."
Sabrina raised a brow. "O-Oh? You are offering to show your respect to my wishes? Alright, by all means. Take a glance."
Doing so, Ash held his hand out, placing it on Sabrina's head, closing his eyes, and searching her mind. Sabrina stood there patiently waiting for whatever might come next. Ash saw it all, staying quiet seeing images play out in his head perfectly.
Ash saw Sabrina growing up, struggling to fit into society, with other kids being afraid of her due to her psychic powers. He also felt her loneliness throughout her life, with no real friends besides Pokemon.
The worst part, however, came when her home and the Psyorg Legacy was attacked, killing her parents in the past. She was soon found by people who dedicated themselves to protecting Psyorgs, the woman from her past being one of those people. In order to protect her, Sabrina was given the last known relic of the Psyorgs, a red orb that gave her the ability to wield great psychic power.
Her guardians promised her a happy life, a new life, far away from danger and threats to her well being. But then, her new home was attacked by those hunting people like her down, forcing her to escape before she too was captured.
In an outburst of sadness and rage, she had unleashed Psychic Energy from her body, causing explosions to occur, taking out everything within miles. It caused everyone who was after her to perish in that attack, but also made her lose everything again. However, the promise of finding another Psyorg did exist, but that was a hope and a prayer, nothing more than wishful thinking.
But even now, years later, Sabrina remained alone in the world, continuing her search for others like her and fighting against the Auravale Empire at every opportunity possible.
Then, her battle against the Star Champion.
All these experiences played out perfectly in Ash's mind as if he himself were experiencing them firsthand. He now understood why she acted the way that she did towards him. This was because of the emotions rushing through her heart right now. She longed for companionship just like anyone else would, but also craved revenge against those who harmed her family legacy and murdered them in cold blood. She wanted someone in her life.
Ash moved his hand away after seeing it all. "I see now." He frowned sadly at Sabrina whose face appeared rather solemn compared to earlier today.
Sabrina stayed silent, still staring into his eyes intensely while nodding slowly. Her expression showed signs of sadness along with anger mixed with happiness for seeing the Star Champion take interest in her problems. Ash would then help Sabrina up, keeping his hands on her arms while looking into her eyes deeply.
"T-Thank you, Star Champion. Apologies for wasting your time." Sabrina stuttered a bit, apologizing once more.
"No way. I love a good battle. Plus, everyone had a good time watching, right?" Ash grinned, facing the crowd and seeing everyone cheer happily, with most of the people standing and applauding after such a spectacular battle. "You know, when it comes to being lonely...you aren't alone. You have your Pokemon by your side and all your fellow Pokemon Lords. I bet they care about you too!"
Sabrina looked away from Ash's gaze slightly before closing her eyes tightly shut while biting down onto her lower lip roughly. Tears began to stream down her cheeks as she tried holding back any more emotions from escaping outwardly. Ash smiled gently as he placed a comforting hand atop Sabrina's head gently.
He could feel how warm and soft it felt underneath his touch while stroking it gently. This simple gesture caused Sabrina's body to relax instantly upon contact between the two. Her eyes slowly opened up revealing crimson pupils staring directly into Ash's brown ones.
A small smile formed across her face while staring at him. "Thank you..." Sabrina whispered softly while wiping away stray tears away from her eyes quickly. "I never thought I'd find someone willing to comfort me during this difficult time." She admitted before glancing toward Ash's Pokemon who stood behind their master. "And for being able to defeat Alakazam effortlessly too."
The audience remained silent throughout this entire scene as if nothing else mattered at all except for what was happening between these two individuals right now. It reminded Ash that even if someone felt alone in the world, there always seemed to be someone out there who cares deeply for them without hesitation or judgement regardless of anything else happening around them.
"Um...I should be going. I'll leave you to the rest of your day, Star Champion." Sabrina walked off, returning Alakazam and then suddenly vanishing with teleportation. Her body flashed out of her with a purple sparkle as she made her way out of the area, leaving Ash by himself.
Lance saw this all from his castle, smiling and feeling proud of Sabrina. "Well done, Sabrina. I've never seen you smile that much before." He got off his throne as Lorelei followed him. "Make sure the Star Champion's Astra Vessel is ready. I suspect he'll be leaving tonight or tomorrow."
"Right away, my Lord." Lorelei nodded as Lance continued walking forward through the palace halls until finally stopping by a large window overlooking the ocean outside below them. He gazed outside curiously wondering if perhaps something might happen next...
"Okay..." Ash took a deep breath. "Now to do whatever I was doing. Hanging out with Nessa and Bea. We can still do that, right, you two?"
"Wow! You get to hang out with the Star Champion?!" A child said as all eyes turned to the duo of young girls.
Both of them were clearly excited to see such a famous person here, but were even more amazed that he had people hanging out with him. It was shocking for them to get this much attention from someone so powerful.
Nessa and Bea looked at each other awkwardly as they felt a little embarrassed after being called out by a couple of little kids. Neither knew how to respond to this situation since neither one ever expected someone to call out to them like this.
"W-Well, yes. I suppose so. But we shouldn't make him wait!" Nessa replied nervously. "Right, Bea?" She asked while turning towards her friend hoping for some assistance from her.
"Uh...Y-Yeah." Bea agreed quietly. "Let's go now." She added with a sigh before walking ahead slowly.
"What are your names?! Can you tell us yours?" One of the girls asked eagerly. "Pleaseeee?!"
"You're free to come by my store at any time! I will personally drop the prices for you!" A woman called out. "Any gem you want!"
"...Eh?" Nessa paused when hearing that. Any gem she wanted? Well, the thought was tempting since she never really owned anything special before in her life, but she didn't think about what kind of gem could possibly be useful enough to take advantage of this generous offer right now either. She glanced sideways over towards Ash who stood beside her looking confused as well. His expression was blank before finally shrugging his shoulders indifferently. She already got some gems earlier, but now, her chances for even more gems went up.
Nessa bit her bottom lip tightly upon realizing that this may be her only chance to acquire another piece of jewelry so easily. Maybe something smooth would do the trick? Perhaps something shiny too? Her eyes darted around rapidly trying to decide whether or not she should accept this opportunity presented before her very eyes at the moment. In the end, Nessa couldn't resist anymore.
"Alright! Fine...I'll buy one from you later today after having dinner with the Star Champion!" She declared loudly causing everyone to stare back at her curiously. This caused Nessa's cheeks to flush pink again in embarrassment, which made her turn away quickly trying to avoid further eye contact with anyone else present. However, this didn't stop other people from approaching her immediately afterwards asking questions about how much money she makes,
"Nessa..." Bea uttered with a side-eye, making eye contact with Nessa. Nessa then sheepishly shrugged as she just couldn't help herself, but that's when the first child ran up to her.
"Miss! What's it like being friends with the Star Champion?! Are you super happy?! Did he give you an amazing gift?!" The blue-haired girl asked excitedly while pointing toward Ash who stood next to her with both hands resting on hips proudly. "And what about that lady?! Is she your girlfriend?" She pointed at Misty, who became flustered as soon as everyone looked at her with curious looks upon their faces.
Time passed as Nessa could be seen receiving a huge haul of items from the shops in this city. From clothing, accessories, and trinkets to even food that was provided to her free of charge because of how well known she was to the entire world. It felt like every single person she met in town wanted to give her something special to remember them by forever, which left Nessa feeling slightly overwhelmed by everything given to her during this eventful day spent traveling through town together with Ash and his companions.
"My...It was worth it, but I've never received so much attention." Nessa giggled while carrying all these items. "What a treat."
"Geez...I should've said something about being with the Star Champion for a little while too." Misty commented as she had also been gifted stuff. "What a steal! I'm surprised you didn't get anything, Bea."
"The only thing I could ever want is to be a great disciple of the Star Champion. I am honored to even stand next to him. This isn't the place for me." Bea explained, smiling softly as she glanced toward Ash Ketchum. "Besides...this experience has taught me something about myself, Misty."
"Oh yeah?" Misty raised a brow as she stared at her friend curiously wondering if she might reveal what exactly that something was right away without holding back any information whatsoever either.
"Yes...I'd rather focus on my training, rather than be showered in gifts and popularity like you guys are getting." Bea answered with honesty as she walked ahead of everyone else happily while humming a tune under her breath.
Misty blinked repeatedly while watching her friend disappear into the distance quietly. "Eh? You're not gonna say anything else about yourself?!" Misty shouted loudly hoping that maybe her voice would reach far enough so she could hear everything perfectly loud and clear once more clearly but alas nothing came back.
"Hey! Come on now!" She hollered out again frustratedly causing Nessa to giggle under her breath as she witnessed such an amusing scene unfolding right before her eyes too.
The group continued walking forward towards where they planned on staying overnight until night fell over them completely. They decided to eat at the local restaurant before heading off toward their rooms at the local inn since apparently there were no other places available anywhere nearby.
In Sabrina's own home, she currently sat there with a book in her hands, focusing deeply. The book in question held some massive information that she has already seen. But after her battle with Ash, she had to read it once more. She was reading about the type of being the Star Champion was.
A Celestial.
A god-like being who could shape reality with their willpower. One could see how terrifying these beings were and why they were feared by all. Their power could be described as omnipotent, capable of creating anything and destroying everything. No one could stop a Celestial if they chose to bring forth destruction upon this world. That was why legends told that if one were to ever show up on Earth, they must flee as quickly as possible before becoming their target.
Many stories have been passed down through generations about the dangers of encountering such creatures. There was one particular story that involved an entire city being destroyed within moments due to a single individual appearing before them unexpectedly. Another tale involved two kingdoms warring against each other until neither side stood victorious in battle resulting in both sides losing everything precious to themselves forevermore after that fateful day ended.
However, if these tales are true, then what makes Ash different from them? Why is he helping humanity instead of destroying it? What makes him special enough to be worshipped? Especially since he was already known as the Star Champion long ago. A savior figure even before he arrived in this world.
There were so many questions swirling inside Sabrina's mind at this very moment while staring intensely at the pages of her book intensely while flipping through each page carefully hoping maybe something would stand out that could give her answers to these burning questions now plaguing her thoughts constantly as well too.
"Such amazement." A smile met her face as she would close it, finding nothing that could give her a hint. "Well...I've made up my mind. On the night...or even the day he is about to leave...I will go with him. I will join the Star Champion on his journey."
"I see you've made up your mind." Suddenly, a voice replied to Sabrina's declaration. It was none other than Lance, standing there with his hands crossed over his chest while eyeing her sternly. His eyes shone with confidence upon seeing her turn towards him abruptly surprised at the sudden appearance of her boss whom she considered family as well too.
Lance moved closer towards the couch Sabrina sat upon while taking a seat next to her. "Is it because of him?" He asked directly without holding anything back whatsoever either causing Sabrina to blush brightly in embarrassment after hearing such a question being spoken aloud like this right now.
"Aha..." Sabrina looked away momentarily before looking downwards towards the floor sadly avoiding eye contact completely which caused Lance to raise one eyebrow curiously wondering just exactly what might happen next here though still staying silent waiting patiently until eventually she answered.
"No! N-Not like that!" She stammered nervously while shaking her head vigorously denying any suspicions regarding her relationship with Ash Ketchum.
Lance sighed deeply after hearing those words spoken so clearly making him believe maybe she did mean what she said just now honestly without lying at all too.
"But why else would someone suddenly make such a decision out of nowhere?" He wondered silently while continuing to stare straight ahead at his underling intently noticing how much tension filled the room right now making things feel slightly awkward between them currently too. "If you want to go, then go. You're beginning to find higher happiness, and that's good." Lance finally decided to speak again while breaking this silence surrounding them both momentarily too while turning away from Sabrina completely facing forwards instead looking directly into space itself hoping something might happen next hopefully too.
"...I do. I know I am a Pokemon Lord of this city, but if this is my chance to find others like me out there, then so be it." Sabrina explained softly while closing her eyes tightly shut hoping nothing terrible would happen afterwards either afterwards either as well too sadly too. "I don't want to be alone anymore."
In the meantime, Nessa, Misty, Brock, and Ash were already eating at the local restaurant and enjoying their meals while chatting happily amongst themselves about random topics such as Ash's battle earlier today or even the possibility of him leaving soon enough which led them all to wonder just exactly how long they'd remain together for awhile longer too probably unfortunately too as well sadly too sadly too.
"It was fun having everyone around, though. Even though we're apart, I can always meet up with you all again somewhere else once more again maybe possibly perhaps sometime very soon later maybe perhaps eventually hopefully too!"
Nessa cheerfully declared while raising up her glass filled halfway full with water before gulping it down swiftly afterward without even caring whether anyone else present would notice her doing this particular action whatsoever too sadly too sadly too sadly sadly too sadly as well too.
"That's right!" Nessa continued loudly without realizing what effect her loud volume may have upon nearby customers causing them all stare towards her direction causing further embarrassment towards herself making her realize exactly how much attention was being drawn towards herself. Her cheeks flushed pink briefly as she felt nervous under these intense gazes. "Ehe..."
"Nessa and I will always be near each other since we are both from Galar." Bea smiled proudly while clenching one fist tightly showing off how strong she could truly become someday. "Star Champion. Even when we do reach the Galar Region, I would like to stay with you until I am powerful enough."
"Mm. I hear ya, Bea." Ash agreed to that, glad ot have Bea around.
"Well, when you guys get your vessel, that's the last time we'll be seeing each other." Misty commented as she finished her food, cleaning her mouth with a napkin afterward. "It was good while it lasted, though. Being around a Legendary Figure and all."
Ash chuckled nervously at that. "Yeah...well, I can visit." He then sat up after his large meal, having cleared out most of the plates. We'll get some shuteye and leave tomorrow morning."
"Sounds good to me." Brock nodded in approval, standing up and stretching his arms above his head causing a few bones to crack slightly afterwards.
As for Goh, he went on his own in Saffron City, trying to keep himself away from others after what happened in the past when he ran away. He still felt he was at fault for that. He was especially hoping to never meet up with Lt. Surge again, still fearful of him.
He currently walked through the city streets thinking deeply about everything going on currently within his life. "Maybe I'm overthinking it all. Maybe I should just try to enjoy myself instead of worrying about such things constantly too." Goh mumbled underneath his breath while glancing towards several passersby's walking past him heading towards different directions each of their own unique paths taking them farther away from where he stood alone momentarily.
"I think I'll keep going with the Star Champion. Maybe then it can all leave my head eventually." He spoke to himself, also deciding to continue going with the Star Champion. He did not want to part ways yet. After all, he wanted to see the world more than ever now because of Ash Ketchum. It was his way of living out his dream.
Goh stuck by that, deciding to meet up with him and the others for the night at least. As he made his way towards where they were staying, he stopped suddenly in front of one particular building catching his eye instantly due towards its appearance being quite unusual compared towards anything else around here.
It reminded him of Lt. Surge's Training Area, but that was in Vermillion City, far from here. Goh couldn't help but stare upwards toward this structure curiously wondering if Lt. Surge had extended his foundation to other cities. He shook his head, promptly walking off.
A new day had come and soon enough, the Astra Vessel was ready. Ash and his friends looked at awe at this massive vessel that was even taller than the castle itself. The way it was designed was impressive and unique.
The front section looked like an old-style galleon with three masts and three sails. However, the middle section was different with two engines on both sides.
The back section consisted of two large rudders that were positioned vertically facing downward into the water beneath them. The ship also had a single smokestack in the center that emitted smoke from within it constantly.
It was clear this vessel was meant for traveling over large distances without ever having to worry about running out of fuel whatsoeve. Every bit of it was powered by Infinity Energy. The energy that makes that exists in the entire world.
"Awesome!" Ash commented at the ship in front of him while grinning widely as he continued to gaze upwards towards this incredible sight before himself currently. Pikachu would also start admiring the beauty that stood before him.
Lance smiled proudly upon hearing such praise coming from someone like Ash Ketchum, who seemed impressed by his own creation. "Glad you like it, Star Champion. A vessel fitting for you and your crew, no doubt." Lance said with confidence written across his face causing Ash's grin widen even more greatly afterwards.
"Such beauty..." Nessa said with starry eyes.
"As for a pilot, we have personally selected someone to assist you. We spoke to Misty and Brock and have decided that they shall accompany you on your journey." Lorelei revealed that information to Ash, who couldn't help himself smiling after hearing that news.
"Really?!"
"Indeed. We figured that you would have others accompany you on your mission, so we appointed these two Pokemon Lords. They will guide you throughout Infiniterra." Lance added with a nod, giving Misty a sideways glance who returned a smirk towards him.
Misty looked directly at Ash, and she grinned widely at him. "That's right! I'll make sure we don't get lost on our journey." She promised, crossing her heart afterwards. "You can trust me!"
"Oh? I've never flown before." Nessa chimed in with interest.
"Neither have I." Bea agreed, nodding towards Nessa, Goh and Ash. "I'm looking forward to seeing the world through this vessel. I've seen much on foot, but flying will be something completely different."
"Wait." Just then, someone had teleported right here with a purple flash. It was Sabrina.
"Sabrina?" Ash looked at her confusedly.
"Star Champion...I wish to come with you." Right out the gate, she revealed that she wished to go with him.
"Really?"
"Yes. I wish to see the world. If I come with you, I may achieve my goal." Sabrina explained herself as best she could without making things seem forced or awkward at all. "To meet other Psyorgs just like me...I believe they are out there. It is only a matter of time before I find them, and I would like to spend every waking moment trying to find others like me. It's like a dream come true!" She laughed gleefully before bowing towards Ash slightly. "Please, Star Champion...allow me to come with you."
"Sure. Come on along, Sabrina." Ash didn't see any harm in letting her come along. Sabrina immediately stood up straight again happily without wasting any time whatsoever either.
"Thank you very much! I look forward to our time spent together from now onwards!"
"Alright, everyone!" Ash faced the Astra Vessel and spread out his arms, taking in this beautiful sight before himself currently. "We're gonna board that beauty! Let's go!"
With that, they all approached the ship as all the people here would bid their farewell to the Star Champion. The Astra Vessel was starting to take flight the second they entered, and it would begin to ascend into the sky, taking everyone with it.
They all watched in awe as the ship flew higher and higher, soon advancing forward to wherever the Star Champion pleases. Lance could smile proudly, knowing that there was a powerful figure aiming to save the world from its current state. Watching that ship take flight was like seeing a bright star of hope emerging in the sky.
Truly glorious.
