Tails is more indifferent to this race. She knows she has to stop trying so hard all the time but she can't help it sometimes. Especially when she has nothing else besides her crush to focus on. She has picked up feelings, somehow, for a certain bee. Tails tries not to care and not to fault becuase of it. So she ends up staying in base for the first couple of games before going out for her Team vs Team dark. First up is Jet vs Shadow. The former has a taunt ready for the other.
"Ready to lose, Shadow?" Jet says, confidently. Smiling to himself.
"More like I'm ready to tear you into a million pieces and put you on the floor like a stain." Shadow aggressively says.
"Your as Edgy as people say"
"You're as Cocky as people say you are." Jet takes major offense to that insult
"Screw You" Jet says to Shadow
The two gear up for the race. Jet ends up noticing something, well more like someone cheering him on.
"Hey" Jet says with a smug look in his face
"What is it you bird?" Shadow says frustrated at Jet, The bird smiles smugly
"Look who's cheering me on" Jet points and Shadow looks to see Sonic cheering from the sidelines. Shadow scowles and looks away, Jet smiles. In all reality Sonic is just generally cheering not realizing that it looks like he's cheering for Jet because he is accidentally in the middle of a bunch of rogue fans. Jet doesn't know that either, so he thinks Sonic is cheering for him.
Shadow ends up being really angry with newfound rage breezes past Jet at the start and flies by him. Apparently an angry Shadow is a more powerful Shadow, because with no issues, Shadow beats Jet. Almost running circles around him. Surprising Jet. But Shadow isn't that good Jet tells himself. Shadow gets off the track without saying a single word. Angering Jet to no end. Jet ends up complaining as Tails goes up to her spot to face the next competitor.
Next up is Rouge vs Tails. While Shadow beat Jet easily, Tails beats Rouge easily. Passing her and Rouge not able to catch up. It seems like she doesn't care anyways about actually winning, comparative to Tails. At the end, Tails gets a lap ahead of her. Rouge goes at a leisurely pace while Shadow yells at her to pick up the pace, she ignores him though and keeps going the same pace for the entire race despite obviously losing. Securing an easy win for Tails, who is happy at the results of the Race.
The chaotix go next against another team. Tails, again, decides to stay in the rogues' room. Sonic wins against Vector and Wave wins against Charmy and Espio. Then Tails has to go up against the rest of team dark. Shadow gets destroyed by Tails first. A closer race than Tails and Rouge, Shadow gets a lot closer than before. He still loses, not by much and Tails still has to deal with E-10000B, who's a robot so Tails is less confident that she'll win this, but she can win this as long as nothing else happens to tip the scales in Team dark's favor. But Tails can only hope that nothing like that happens.
In the end she shouldn't have been worried. E-10000B does come close, very close. But still ends up losing. For most of the race they're neck and neck. But Tails ends up getting ahead a lot, then permanently at the end. Winning the Race. Tails is happy and so is the rest of the Babylon Rogues. Now all Tails has to do is win against the remaining members of Team Sonic. Which should be easy for her. Keyword: Should.
She's right, at least about Sonic. Who she will admit puts up a good fight in the race but ends up not really getting much on Tails. While Sonic starts good he ends up falling behind. Of course Tails is happy that she won and she gets mass applause for it. She still has to defeat Wave to win it all. But she's confident she can. She'll be fine, she can win this, no problem. She knows that she'll be okay.
After preparations Tails and Wave meet in the middle for the final Race. Eggman gives his little speech and then the two Race. Neck and neck, the closest it's ever been. They might even tie at this point. But after all the laps of being neck and neck. Wave manages somehow to pull forward and win the Race. Tails is mad that she lost and she looks angry but doesn't do anything, just returns back to base. In time to here the announcement of Wave's win: which Tails isn't happy at but still listens to.
"Well isn't that nice, now as promised, your reward!" Egg- I mean King Doc of Toreggmania says. The door in front of Wave opens, revealing… a hand that takes her and traps her and disappears into thin air. Tails can hear the panic and goes out. Meeting with the rest of the Babylon Rogues outside who stare up into the sky as Eggman speaks and laughs and laughs and laughs at all the contestants and the audience. Tails gets somehow even more mad.
"Surprise! Now what are you going to do after I scanned all the bio data and took your best Racer? Who's going to stop me now?" Eggman taunts and everyone gasps, absolutely stunned. At least nobody actually knew about the bio data scans. Tails is really mad about that and is ready to kick Eggman's into the next century.
"Metal!" Eggman calls and E-10000B flies up and transforms back into Metal Sonic. "Even if you were somehow able to see through my magnificent disguise, you wouldn't have seen this coming!" Eggman laughs as Metal flies into the air and follows the Doctor who flies away. Sealing the stadium once again. Tails prepares once again to go for the first strike. Now, everyone has to face his new creation.
