Story Title:Chrimata's Savior
Chapter:3
Who:Apollo, Iris, Zeus, Decim, Chrimata, Artemis and Philammon
Where:In and Around Mt Olympus
When:N/A
Why:Wrote it in 2015 for an extra English class in school and this is the third and final story that I have created using Mythology
Other:From the Children of the Gods A Collage of Journeys Book 1 Harmony School of Science High School 7th Grade ELA GT Class (2015 2016). I wrote it in 2015 when I was twelve so yes, I know it is a god-awful story, but I am just typing it word from word, punctation, spelling and word choices exactly how I did it 10 years ago. Also, Chione did have a kid with Apollo, and he was Philammon, not Decim.

Chapter 1
This story begins in a dark cave with water misting over the entrance, a small wail came from within the cave and a quiet shush followed to keep the infant quiet. Quietly they sat until a bold voice pierced the stillness of the darkness," It's time."
As the mother whispered her last words to her baby, the silhouette quietly cradled the baby away and whispered to the woman," It's going to be okay Iris." and then vanished without a trace. Iris fell on her knees and wept for her loss, never foretelling if she ever see her baby again.
Fast Forward 12 Years Later
"Hey, pass it Decim!" hollered Chrimata, Decim threw it and Chrimata barely caught it, the ball stumbling over his fingers before he finally grasped it. Through the field came a loud shout," bring it in boys, time to go!"
Chrimata ran over to Decim and gave him a brotherly punch and commented on his throws. As they were walking back to the house, Decim asked Chrimata," So, does your dad ever play with you much?"
"Ummm, not really." Said Chrimata embarrassed.
They walked back to the house, an awkward silence between them. Ever since his dad, Apollo had married Chione and had a son, Decim, things have been rough between Chrimata and his dad and their past and trying to accept Decim in their what so called, "family", especially after Chione ran away to live with another man and her other son, Philammon. When Chrimata was young he never remembered his real mom, but his dad did. He said that she had to go away in hiding so that Zeus would not kill him and his dad. Learning this built a thick wall between them, Chrimata and his dad weren't as close as they should've been as the two of them were only left for each other, but after 12 years he, Decim and his dad finally settled down in a quiet part of Mt. Olympus away from the rule of Zeus and the communication of his mom.
Or so they thought…...
"Please, no take me instead!" cried a woman, sobbing violently at Zeus's feet.
"You have lied to me you foolish woman, and you will pay the price! Get up and tell me where they are!" Zeus tormented at the woman.
"Please, no, no, anything but that, I'll do anything!" screamed the woman, begging at his mercy. With a look of disgust on his face, his hissed," Get her out of my sight. "And with a flick of his finger, she was gone.
A gentle knock at the brother's bedroom signaled that someone was at the door. Chrimata looked up from his book, got up and opened the door," yes?" he sighed, annoyed that someone has interrupted him right at the good part.
"Ummm, can I come in?" his dad said, anticipation and worry lined his voice.
"Ya, sure." Chrimata said, sweeping his arms wide open to welcome him in.
"Thanks buddy." Grinned his dad.
'Daaddd!" Chrimata groaned, his voice filled with a playful manner.
"It's a name your mom and I would call you when you would get mischievous." His dad started, then fell silent, his eyes got cloudy and his face expressionless. Sensing something was wrong, Chrimata walked over and stood by his dad at the door, looking him straight in his eyes and said," Dad, are you ok? you seem a bit down whenever mom is in our conversation, is something wrong?"
His dad looked at him with moist eyes, then sat down on his bed and put his head in his hands, "Yes, something is terribly wrong Chrimata, your mother is dead."
Chrimata stood there, dazed and puzzled, trying to process what his dad had just said, finally after a moment of still silence he said in a quivering voice,
"What? what do you mean she's dead? sh-she can't, she just can't!" Chrimata yelled in a frightened and confused tone, set with tears and dread.
"Hey, it's going to be o- ", his dad soothed over him trying to calm him down before Chrimata pushed him away and yelled at his face,
"No, it is not dad, she is dead because of you! And it is all your fault!" his voice grew louder with every word, lined with annoyance and shame, his words like knives, pierced his dad's heart.
"You rarely told me about her, always keeping her a subject never to be spoken about when we moved here, you never let me come with you to see her when you had a chance, I don't even remember her even when I even HAD the chance to see her when I was younger!" Chrimata shrieked,
"And she's dead because of you," Chrimata hissed, "you always gave her up when she had to go, never having the confidence to protect her from Zeus, to afraid to actually take care of her and her ONLY son, you gave up on HER and ME, dad!" screamed Chrimata.
After a moment of serene silence, Chrimata finally choked out the words between the stifling of sobs,
"You gave up dad, "sobbed Chrimata, "you gave up on us."
After a while Chrimata's dad just looked at him from the bed, got up, walked to the door and said one thing before closing the door behind him,
"I never gave up on you Chrimata, I was with you ever since, taking care of you, everyday trying to keep you safe, always planning the ways to one day have your mother back, everyday I cry for her, Chrimata, I miss her, and you Chrimata, you have been that one hope that has gotten me through everything, YOU have been the light in my life, everyday I look at you and you remind me of your mom, and I am so thankful to have you as my son." And with that he firmly closed the door and left.
Chrimata, realizing that he was standing, sank into his bed, and tried to process what had just happened, after a few moments of silence suddenly there came an abrupt knock on his door. What now?! Thought Chrimata, fed up with people interrupting him, he stomped to the door and flung the door open, howling, "What do you need?!" at the intruder.
"Hey, dude calm down, what's up?" questioned Decim in a worried tone, realizing it was Decim, Chrimata quickly mumbled something under his breath that sounded like a sorry and quickly put his head down and stared at his shoes.
"I heard what happen, " Decim said quietly, staring at his shoes momentarily before looking up at Chrimata and saying,
"I know how you feel man, when I found out my mom left me I was crushed, I was devastated, I didn't know if I would even survive, but hey, when I found your family, I knew I was going to be okay because of you guys, your dad, he was like the dad I never had, and you Chrimata, you were the brother I've always wanted. I noticed something when I first met you two, family will always be there for you, through everything, family will always be there to guide you, and Chrimata," said Decim as he looked into Chrimata's eyes, "your dad will always be there for you."
Catching his dad in the kitchen chopping up veggies in a much more peaceful and calm manner as before he told of the sudden news to him, Chrimata said,
"Hey dad? how did you find out mom was…dead?" Chrimata gulped as he forced out the bitter word out of his mouth.
Looking at Chrimata with an arched eyebrow his dad said, "My sister, Artemis, told me when Zeus sent her to run on errand for him and we bumped into each other, and I guess it just all came out. "Chrimata's dad said, his face puzzled,
'Why do you ask? is something wrong?" he asked Chrimata in a concerned voice.
Not wanting to get in another father-son talk, Chrimata quickly said,
"Umm, no, just wondering, thanks dad." And speedily crept to his room.
"Psst, Chrimata" a hushed voice called as he was climbing the stairs, Chrimata looked around for the voice and found that it was coming from the guest room, he peered around the corner and back to the left and quietly crept into the room. There he saw Decim sitting on the bed, curiously Chrimata said,
"Decim, what's going on?"
"I have a plan, Chrimata." Decim chimed in a cool and calm manner.
"What's going on? is something wrong?" Chrimata said in a hushed and frantic voice.
"It's about your mom." Decim said, his voice packed with excitement, yet brisk and short.
"My mom? what about her?" Chrimata's mood lightened after looking at Decim smiling at him, maybe this is Decim's way to cheer me up thought Chrimata, might as well play along. "What are we going to do? Like "find" her?" joked Chrimata rolling his eyes to himself. He looked up and Decim just gave him one of his "yes-way looks," Chrimata gasped and almost yelled at him, Decim quickly put his fingers to his lips, "No way! are you out of your mind? we can't, how? And if we did go, we would get caught!" whispered Chrimata nervously, Decim just chuckled, completely ignoring Chrimata, and said," We're going to find your mom and solve an unsolved mystery."
"You are crazy, she is dead, Artemis confirmed that to my dad. "Chrimata pressed at Decim.
"Well, I have a different theory." Decim said surprising Chrimata in saying," don't you think it is a bit weird that your mom suddenly "dies"," Decim said, quoting with his fingers," especially if she's Zeus's favorite person to torment, always threatening her that he is going to kill her family. Playing around with her, using her like a jester in his court. When you told me that she was always leaving at random times when she was with your dad then she is Zeus's salve and that he has saved her, not really killed her. He uses her for other things otherwise than his slave, and that is why she is still alive, she has been saved for the other thing she does. If she was dead it meant that she has begged him not kill you guys and he rejected her begging, killing her on the spot, not needing her for her other purposes, but if she did beg and he said yes as to not kill you guys than she's still alive for the other purposes he needs and if that didn't happen there would be people raiding your house to kill us, but that's not happening, now is It Chrimata?" smirked Decim, shocking Chrimata into showing him this new side of him.
"Wow, I never thought of that." Chrimata said, dazed and overwhelmed. He got his bearings and then said behind his smile,
"Well now that you've proved your point, what are we going to do about all of this?"
"We are going to sneak into the palace while everyone is asleep and find her. "Decim said simply, obviously having thought this over.
Not very convinced, Chrimata took this as another joke and said," ha, nice one, if you think you're so smart and impressive, and clearly planned this out, when are we going to do this?" Chrimata laughed at Decim.
Decim, plainly taking no offense said," Tonight."
"Tonight!?, are you out of your God-Loving mind!?" yelled Chrimata in a toned-down voice to Decim, who was wearing an unimpressed face to Chrimata as the two of them crept to their room in the dark.
"Yes, tonight." Calmed Decim while shuffling about the room,
"But how? and why tonight?" Chrimata screamed at him. Decim just ignored him and continued to look for something in their room. Chrimata waited for a while for an explanation from him but got nothing but silence, he gave up and sank into his bed, exhaling deeply. After a while Decim's rummaging began to bother him.
"Decim, what are you looking for?" sighed Chrimata.
"Just our backpacks for the mission." Decim said in a confident tone, almost shrugging his question off his shoulders.
"Wow, you're prepared." Chrimata said in a flat manner, hardly surprised.
Decim had always been the housekeeper of their room and was always clean and hygienic, unlike Chrimata who was just your typical boy.
"How are we going to find Zeus's palace in the dead of night, while not waking anyone up or getting caught?" Chrimata teased Decim.
Decim, finally spotting the backpacks flung a backpack at him and said to Chrimata, "We'll cross that bridge when we get to that." And walked out of their bedroom.
"Isn't this a bit risky? I mean, can't a guard just wake up and suddenly alert the whole place?" Chrimata strained in a troubled voice at Decim, they had managed to somehow find their way to the palace in the dead of night, while not waking the guards up.
The guards lay slumped against the wall of the palace, their weapons strewn carelessly over the ground as they slept.
"It is a risk we must take. "Decim said in an edgy voice. After a while of feeling about the front of the palace he said in a surprised tone," oh, we're here!" and slowly pushed the big oak door open, the sound of the door creaking through the vast dining hall, echoing off the shallow walls and open ceiling to reveal a fire pit in the middle, it's ember quietly glowering in the moonlight. After a moment of silence Decim and Chrimata spread out to go look around for doors on the side of the walls or to just look for any important clues as to where Chrimata's mom was hidden. While feeling around the walls for doors or opening, he heard a quiet scrapping and passed it off as Decim drawn to the middle to go look at the dining table or any trapdoor handles beneath the carpet. As Chrimata patted against the walls he ran across many paintings and metalworks.
"Woah, I never knew that this palace was so majestic, the Gods are lucky." Chrimata said in awestruck and hushed whisper to himself as he looked at the paintings and metalworks more closely. He walked over to the sound in the middle of the room, probably just Decim examining something off the dinner table he thought to himself, to get Decim's attention to tell him about the painting and metalwork, but when he got there instead of seeing Decim's shape in the dark, he saw two red glowing eyes and heard a deep, devilish voice say,
"Yes, they certainly are."
Before he knew it, something lunged at him and his mouth was covered by a ginormous, powerful hand, while struggling to get out of the grasp he looked up to see bulging muscles and a silver bracelet on the forearm, engraved with a lightning bolt. Zeus! Chrimata thought before blacking out.
Someone shaking his arm woke him up, making the world practically spin when he sat up. He groggily looked around and then spotted a familiar face and someone else, a woman who was radiating in the musty darkness.
"Where am I?" Chrimata asked in a woozy voice, not knowing where he was, or who he was talking to, only debating If he was in a dream or if it was reality, he then sank back down into a laying position, the head rush too unbearable to stand. "Chrimata, we're in a dungeon." Decim said in a soothing voice, barely audible through the ringing in his ears, "And guess what," Decim said in a quiet voice hinting that good news would only follow, "we found your mom."
Just like when he heard his mom was dead, he was caught in a state of puzzlement and confusion. After a moment, his head rush cleared and perplexed Chrimata repeated in a hushed voice to Decim," you found my mom?" Still not sure if it was real or if he had just imagined those words, his head throbbed harder at the prospect of his mom being alive, he thought he heard discreet words flying between the two about him and suddenly he wondered if it could be her, finally understanding his senses he croaked," Mom?"
He tried to sit up and focus his watering eyes on the blinding woman, but she stood up, and walked over to him, cupped his face into her hands and faintly whispered into his ear," It's me Chrimata, it's your mom, Iris." She pressed his head to hers and suddenly thousands of memories with him, his mom and dad flooded his head, relieving him of his pain and worries, sending him into an easy sleep.
When he woke up, it was morning, the sun was filtering through the prison bars, illuminating Decim and his mom softly sleeping. He walked over to them and gently shook them awake, they softly stirred to an arousing before noticing him. They both immediately asked him if he was feeling any better, and if he was all right, they then explained him to falling into a deep sleep and then wondering if he had gone into a coma because of the shock.
"Mom, Decim, it is all right, I am ok…I am great…. better than great," Chrimata said as he stared at his mom for what felt like the first time in his life. He noticed how her hair was like pure blonde, and how her eyes illuminated the variety of colors. He looked at her to see that she had many bruises on her pure snow-white skin and deep scars engraved over her frail body. No wonder dad married her, Chrimata thought to himself, chuckling, he glanced over to Decim to find him in the same state.
Lost in thought about her, a sudden voice pierced the crisp morning air,
"Well boys, if you don't mind, I want to get out of here." The voice said, revealing Iris smirking at them. Having her back to the door, she turned around and started to walk towards the door, when came a dauntless and modest voice, virtually too familiar to second guess the being of the declare,
"You'll be going nowhere my Iris, as so well your friends too, anywhere expect for Hell."
A jangle of keys and a heavy creaking noise filled the small room to reveal himself with a pouty face staring at Iris.
"Tsk, tsk tsk Iris, you were doing so well, so obedient to me, until came along these two, trying to rescue you from poor old Zeus, you should be ashamed of yourself, acting like a fool in front of me." Zeus said as he walked around her, tracing her jawline with his finger, looking at her like a puppy who misbehaved with its master.
"Get away from me you bastard and leave my friends alone." Iris hissed through her teeth.
"Aww, it's ok, only people who disobey me get punished." Zeus said looking at her with remorse, his face full of scolding, then he suddenly decided that he clearly showed disgust in his face and snapped his fingers, ropes bounding her up.
He then turned to look at Chrimata and Decim and in a sauntering voice said quiet plainly,
"As you for two, you'll be executed to death tonight before dusk." And with that he left the dungeon, the door's echo encircling them all in ropes of dread and angst for what consequences of tomorrow may bring to them.
As the three of them sat together, Chrimata looked over to see that in Irises pupils seemed to rage in a storm, her eyes were misty gray, flashing and illuminating her eyes, with blue tears leaking out the bottom. She struggled against the ropes, but they only got tighter against her delicate body. He looked over to see Decim staring at the wall, completely petrified, and scared as to what would happen to them, they sat there in silence until they heard the door swing open and a rough voice directed them to the dining hall for their execution. They slowly stood up, making eye contact with each other, their eyes full of pain and repent for each other. They walked along the corridor to the hall to see that most of Mt. Olympus was standing there, all eyes on the captives. As the guard shoved him, Decim and his mom up to what looked like an area to bow before Zeus, Chrimata was suddenly then truly aware of what was happening as Zeus stood up and said,
"Welcome Gods and Goddess, for tonight is the night that these beings," he practically spat at them, "either repent of their sins to me or die a painful death." Zeus said as he gestured to the guillotine, brilliant, just brilliant thought Chrimata as a murmur rippled through the crowd,
"These people have committed a serious crime…. they," pointed Zeus at them like they were trash, "they tried to sneak in MY PALACE and rescue my ONLY slave, who I thought was respectful to me, but apparently not so." Zeus said as he hunched his shoulders up, his palms forward to entertain the crowd with a sulking face at Iris.
"Tonight, we will serve them right, their so-called justice is going to be wiped away from them!" Zeus said, his game of play ending in a rude and mean glare at the Gods and Goddesses in the crowd," Just like everyone of you in this hall, so that I'M the only one who is rightfully serving as the God of Mt. Olympus, and the only balance to the universe will be my reign."
And with that, Chrimata realized, the real trouble began, all of the people in the crowd turned their head towards the three of them and their eyes suddenly turned red. Zeus's eyes turned a radiant red as well and he started to walk towards them, the crowd following him at his wake, controlling their every movement and their consciousness," you three", the crowd and Zeus said in union," are the last piece of the puzzle, with you three, my reign will become final at last so, I, Zeus can rule and reign Mt. Olympus on my rules and regulations, with all of you my slaves."
Chrimata, Decim and Iris looked at each other, their faces telling it all. The swallowed their fears and looked up at Zeus, facing their death to come at last, all together as one body of mi-
Suddenly the dining hall was flooded with frail bright glowing light, the dusk colors merged into the sun arising in the morning, purifying the dining hall breaking the connection between Zeus and his army behind him, leaving them all confused and dazed as to bring their original selves to them. Blinded by the dawn arising, Zeus, Chrimata, Decim and Iris looked up to the sky to see a chariot riding on the oncoming light, Chrimata gasped to himself and recognized the figure in awe of his voice," It's Apollo."
Fear and panic set in the crowd and Zeus said," n-no, this can't be happening." He said in a dreaded and defeated voice, edged with fear and horror when he came to acknowledge the form. Violently tracking the figure's path, suddenly came a voice next to Zeus, "Oh, yes it can." Horrified, he looked over to his left and saw Apollo standing there, shocked, Zeus stood there silent and confused.
"And it is" Apollo said in a string and confident expression, staring at Zeus. Quickly looking around, he noticed Iris, Chrimata and Decim and, gave them a slight nod as to give them a welcome, then returned his stare at Zeus, saying in a hushed tone,
"Zeus, you are a different person from when I knew you, you are controlled with evil and wanting for only yourself, you have forgotten Mt. Olympus and its people of being, but mostly you have forgotten the one thing that surrounds Mt. Olympus in its presence being…. the Prophecy of Communications in Mt. Olympus, the Prophecy that brings us all together as one. "
With that his eyes turned a vibrant blue and then he, Chrimata and Iris suddenly floated up into what seemed like an aurora that shone behind them, outlining them in the early morning sky, the three of them said together in union, as in a trance of some sorts,
"When time comes of storm and light, say thy name of request, and out shall come right."
"Time came of storm when I, Iris begged to the God of all creators to save our souls, rejected, a storm of chaos began to brew in his heart that would lead him to the fortune of empowerment of Mt. Olympus." Iris said in a droned tone.
"Time came of cleaning of this horrid world and time came of purification and light to cover the darkness that surrounded us all. "Apollo said in the same kind of proclamation.
"Time came of the right to be anointed to us all and for us to all once again bow before Zeus, but in the righteousness of our minds." Chrimata said,
"And time came for us to say that person of to whom started this confusion in the palace of the Gods, the word that will reset our souls and the belief of one day to trust him again."
And with that phrase, the three of them said together in a commanding voice,
"Zeus…."
Suddenly there was a binding of their souls as to come together and were empowered into Zeus, then the world was covered in an insensible light that purified Mt. Olympus forever.
