Chapter 4
Ben's Room
It's been over two weeks now since Ben started living with Misty and a lot has happened since then. For one, Sector Security were done with the paperwork for Ben's new identity so now he can gain DP from Duels. Tetsu had been true to his word and got Ben a Duel Runner which Ben optioned to paint Black, something Tetsu found amusing. As for Misty, things have been shaping up well for her since Ben's arrival. She doesn't look sad or sleep deprived like before. She also now have an almost daily routine of dueling Ben during their free time which has been a rather fun experience for both parties.
So basically Ben's week has been filled with either spending time with Misty or Duel Runner practice with Tetsu.
Right now, Misty is on a business trip concerning her modeling work which she won't be back from in about two days, leaving Ben as the only resident of the apartment (not counting Kate that is). Being left alone in the massive apartment has been somewhat tiring for the young teen.
Switching through different TV channels in hopes of finding something entertaining to watch has been proving to be counter productive, as now Ben is just going with the flow of the remote in his hand.
"So, are you going to actually watch something or this is how you're planning to spend your day?" Resonator asked from Ben's shoulder
"I'm bored." Ben said as he stared blankly at the TV.
"You could have just gone with her you know." Fader said
"It would have been weird, besides I'm not sure I can handle being in the presence of other celebrities." Ben said
"Righhhht, keep telling yourself that." Fader said as Ben's phone started ringing
"Hello." Ben said picking up the phone.
"Yo Kid, come meet me at the WRGP Event Site." Tetsu voice said from the phone
"Where's that? Also why do you want to meet there? We usually have Runner lessons at Misty's garage." Ben said
"It's in the Coastal Region. As for why, you do remember asking for a Job at Sector Security right?"
"More like Mikage offering me one but yeah" He said
"Well this is it Kid." Tetsu said
"Still why there? Why not at the station?" Ben asked
"Look Kid, I can't answer all your questions right now, just come meet up with me and I'll explain everything."
"You know what, I'm honestly too bored to press for more questions, so I'll be heading out right now." Ben said ending the call
WRGP Event Site
Stepping out of his Duel Runner, Ben is met with the site of Tetsu waiting for him.
"Good Morning Officer Tetsu." Ben said approaching the older man
"Xup kid. Follow me." Tetsu said as he started leading Ben into the site
"So, I take it I'm going to have some Duel Runner test here before being accepted into Sector Security?" Ben asked
"Well normally that would be the case, add to some other writen exams but right now things are different." Tetsu said
"How different?" Ben asked
"You're being interviewed by the Director of Sector Security, Rex Goodwin." Tetsu said causing Ben to stop, staring at the Officer like he had grown a second head
"Seriously?" Ben asked blankly
"Seriously." Tetsu answered with the same energy while turning to face the boy
"Why?"
"Let's see, a random teenage mysteriously appears in New Domino City with no memory of his past, no record from either Satellite or New Domino, was able to casually beat one of Sector Security best officer's in a Duel. You catching my drift? Tetsu said counting his finger at each point made
"How long has he known?" Ben asked
"Since Misty's requested we help create an ID for you and gossip of you beating me in a Duel reached him." Tetsu said
"This is so not my Day." Ben said massaging his forehead
"Relax Kid. Knowing your luck, things might go smoothly or worse case scenario you get locked up in jail. In the end it's a win win situation for me." Tetsu said while grinning
"Thought you gave up on arresting me?" Ben asked with a bored expression
"Come on Kid, can't you take a joke? Come on, let's not keep them waiting." Tetsu said leading Ben through an elevator
"Them? It's like you keep coming up with new things to put me on edge with." Ben pointed out
Stepping into what one would assume was an office, Ben is met with the sight of Mikage, Yeager, Rex Goodwin and even Jack Atlas who had his leg crossed on a desk.
"Ben Strega I presume." Rex said eyeing the Boy
"Good morning Mr Goodwin." Ben said bowing slightly
"There's no need to be on edge young man, I merely wanted to see the Boy who defeated Tetsu in a Duel." Rex said
"You know, with the rate Tetsu has been losing duels I'm not sure if he's fit to be part of Sector Security." Jack said causing Tetsu to become tense.
"Is that a British accent?" Fader asked after hearing Jack speak
"In Japan no less?" Resonator asked also confused
"Anime logic, don't think too much about it." Ben said
"I for one believe Officer Tetsu is an excellent Duelist." Ben said
"Sorry, I don't remember asking for your opinion." Jack said
"Sometimes I forget how much of an ass this guy use to be." Ben thought
"Now there Jack, despite his loses, Officer Tetsu does his job well." Rex said
"Thank you Sir." Tetsu said
"Now, if what my officers told me is true, you have amnesia?" Rex asked
"Yes." Ben answered
"Interesting." Rex hummed observing the Boy "Regardless, I have taken into consideration your request to join Sector Security, under the condition that you pass my test."
"What test?" Ben asked
"You will face Mikage in a Duel. If you win, you will be welcomed as an Officer." Rex said shocking most in attendance even Jack
"Not that I care, but you want to give someone with memory loss a chance at becoming an Officer?" Jack asked
"You know if I ever decide to become completely evil, Jack is the first on my list to take out." Ben said
"I believe everyone deserves a chance Jack, just like you did." Rex said causing Jack to huff
"Now then, let's go to the arena where your Duel will take place." Rex said leading the group
Duel Arena
Standing across each other Ben and Mikage have their Duel Disk ready in anticipation for their match to begin, with Rex, Jack, Yeager, Tetsu and other Sector Security staff spectating from the sideline.
"So Ben, hope you don't mind going first?" Mikage asked causing Ben to shrug
"Sure, I don't have any issue with that." Ben said activating his Duel disk.
"Good." Mikage said activating her's as well
"DUEL!"

Turn:1
"I'll Draw." Ben said drawing a card. "I'll set my monster in face down defense position and end my turn.
"That's it?" Yeager asked from the sideline
"Patience Yeager, the match is just beginning." Rex said
Turn:2
"My turn, I'll draw. First I'll play the spell Solar Recharge. By discharging one Light Sworn monster I get to draw two cards but send the top two cards of my Deck to the graveyard. Then I'll draw Charge of the light Brigade, this allows me send the top three cards of my Deck to the graveyard to draw a level four or low Light Sworn monster. I'll be choosing Ryko, Light Sworn Hunter." Mikage said drawing a total of three cards while sending five cards to her graveyard.
"I'll now summon Genex, Ally Birdman in attack position." She said

"Now attack his facedown monster." Mikage said as her monster attacked, revealing Ben's facedown to be Dark Resonator.
Dark, R(1300Atk/300Def/Lvl3/Dark/Fiend)
"That's one of Mister Atlas's card." Yeager said
"Once per battle Dark Resonator is not destroyed." Ben said as his monster was still on the field.
"I'll place one card facedown and end my turn." Mikage said
Turn:3
"I'll draw. I'll now activate Dark World Dealings letting us both draw one card but also discarding another. The card I choose to discard is Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World which activates it's effect letting me destroy one of your cards and I'll be choosing your face down card." Ben said destroying her facedown revealing it to be Trap Stun
"You should have destroyed her monster." Resonator said
"I hate traps." Ben simply said
"But you use them." Fader pointed out
"Mainly to stop traps." Ben said
"I'll now summon Snoww, Unlight of Dark World in attack position." Ben said summoning Snoww
Snoww, D.W (1700Atk/0Def/Lvl4/Dark/Fiend)
"Now I'll activate Grapha's effect from my Graveyard, letting me return one Dark World monster to my hand to summon him to the field. Now come forth, Grapha." Ben said summoning returning Snoww to summon Grapha

"That's quite the monster." Tetsu whistled
"Now I'll activate the field spell, The Gate of Dark World which will increase the attack and defense of all Fiend monsters by 300." Ben said

"Guess you not playing around." Mikage said
"I'll be switching Resonator into attack mode. Now Resonator, destroy her monster." Ben said causing Resonator to destroy Genex

"Now Grapha, attack her directly." Ben said causing Grapha to fire Dark flames at Mikage
"Ahhh."

"Looks like you got this Duel in the bag Boss." Fader said
"Knowing my luck, I believe she will summon Judgement Dragon in her next turn. Though I'm glad she won't be able to activate it's effect." Ben said
"I'll place one face down and end my turn." Ben said setting Call of Haunted
Turn:4
"I'll draw. Mikage said "I'll now special summon Judgement Dragon in attack mode since I now have four Light Sworn monsters with different names in my graveyard.
Judgment Dragon (3000Atk/2600Def/Lvl8/Light/Dragon)
"Fucking called it." Ben said
"That's not all, I also have three Dark monsters in my graveyard so I can special Dark Armed Dragon from my hand." Mikage said causing Ben to frown
"Well shit." Ben thought
Dark Armed Dragon (2800Atk/1000Def/Lvl7/Dark/Dragon)
"I'll now activate it's effect, by banishing two dark monsters in my graveyard I can destroy two cards on your side of the Field and I choose Grapha and your facedown card." Mikage said destroying said cards
"I'll now summon Lyla, Light Sworn sorceress in attack mode." Mikage said

"Now Lyla, attack Ben's Resonator."

"Dark Armed Dragon, destroy his monster." Mikage said

"Now Judgement Dragon, finish his life points."
"I'll active Battle Fader effect from my hand. When I'm about receiving a direct attack, I can summon him to the field and end the battle phase." Ben said summoning Fader in defense position

"You just got lucky. I'll activate Lyla effect switching her to defense position so I can destroy your field spell." Mikage said destroying the field spell
"I'll set two cards face down and end my turn. Now since Judgment Dragon and Lyla are on the field I'll be sending 7 cards from my Deck to the graveyard due to their effect" Mikage said causing cards to be sent to her graveyard
"I'll now special summon Wulf, Light Sworn Beast since he was sent to the graveyard by an effect." Mikage said

"I'll Draw." Ben said looking at his hand
"Summon me and be done with this Duel." Ccapac said
"No. Not now at least especially with Goodwin here. Besides the Duel is already over." Ben said
"I'll active the spell card Giant Trunade, which let's me return all spell and traps back to either players hand." Ben said returning Mikage facedowns
"I'll now summon Snoww, Unlight of Dark World in attack position." Ben said
Snoww, D.W (1700Atk/0Def/Lvl4/Dark/Fiend)
"Now I'll activate the spell card, Monster Reborn, which let's me special summon one monster from either graveyard and I'll be choosing Dark Resonator." Ben said summoning the Fiend back to the field
Dark, R(1300Atk/300Def/Lvl3/Dark/Fiend)
"Why summon that monster when he could have summoned something stronger?" Yeager asked confused
"He's about to Synchro Summon." Jack said slightly interested in what was about to happen.
"Just in case you didn't know, Dark Resonator here is a Tuner monster so I'll be tuning him with Snoww and Battle Fader to Synchro Summon my monster." Ben said
"You have Synchro Monsters?" Mikage asked shocked
"Yes. Now then come fourth Blood Mesfit." Ben said as a Light enveloped his monsters causing a new Feind wielding a Skull staff while also wearing a Magician's hat to appear

"That's it? I was expecting something stronger." Jack said after seeing the monsters attack point
"Guess all that was just for show." Yeager said
"That monster isn't that strong compared to mine." Mikage said
"True, that's why I'm ending my turn." Ben said
Turn:6
"Then I'll draw-" Mikage said but Ben interrupted her
"And with that I activate Blood Mesfit effect. During my opponents standby phase, Mesfit can deal 300 damage to my opponent for each card they control. So far you control four monster cards." Ben said
"No." Mikage said in horror as Mesfit raised his staff dealing 1200 damage to her life points

Deactivating his duel disk Ben turns to Rex who is clapping.
"That was an amazing Duel my boy. Welcome to Sector Security." Rex said
"Thank you for having me." Ben said with a low bow.
