Chapter 11

Stadium

As Jack is being taken away on a stretcher, Ben merely signs as he turns towards the crowd of people cheering for him on his victory. Noticing the group of reporters piling up, Ben makes a discussion to leave the stadium before he gets drowned by their questions.

With Carly

"There you have it folks, Jack Atlas, the King of Turbo Duel has been dethroned by Sector Security's, Ben Strega." Angela said as Carly glared at her Rival Reporter for being shoved away

"What's your problem Angela." Carly said stomping towards her

"Oh Carly, I almost didn't notice you there." Angela mocked

"Why you…" Carly muttered barely holding her anger

"As much as I would like to catch up with you, I'm afraid I have other things to do." Angela said walking away from a fuming Carly

"Just you watch Angela, I'm going to get the biggest story yet." Carly thought before walking into the crowd

Stadium Tunnel Entrance

"Are you sure we shouldn't see Ben before leaving?" Ruka asked Yusei

"This is our best chance at leaving before Goodwin stops us again." Tanner answered from her corner

"Besides the boy's probably being torn apart by the crowd. I doubt we'll be able to see him." Yanagi said

"Don't worry Ruka, I'm certain we'll be able to meet him later. Besides, he gave me his number so we can still call him." Yusei said

"Okay." Ruka said holding her hand

Hallway

Walking through the Hallway, Ben sees Misty waiting for him with a smile on her face.

"I see you manage to slip away from the crowd." Misty said

"It's probably for the best. I'm even begining to feel tired from all the Dueling." Ben said

"Are you all right?" Misty asked concerned

"Nothing a few days in bed can't cure." Ben said stretching

"Before anything, I would like to congratulate you on your victory…King Ben." Misty said with a smile

"The King title isn't necessary." Ben said

"Are you sure?" Misty asked playfully

"Yes."

"Well you're no fun." Misty said

"Where's Yusei? I thought he was with you?" Ben asked

"He left with his friends. Said something about leaving before Goodwin stops them." Misty said causing Ben to nod

"So I guess we should be heading home then?" Ben asked

"I take it you didn't notice the crowd outside?" Misty asked amused

"Okay point taken." Ben said

"Lucky for you I brought disguises." Misty said

"Really?" Ben asked

"Years of being a model has taught me to always carry a few. Now come let's go get changed." Misty said dragging Ben by his hand.

A Few Moments Later

"You sure this disguise will work?" Ben asked checking himself

"Yes, now put on your sunglasses." Misty said while wearing her's

"Okay, I'll need to find Kiryu first though." Ben said as they both start leaving

"I'll be waiting for in my car." Misty said

Just then, crowd of reporters started rushing through the Hallway probably heading towards Goodwin's location. Just then someone bumped into Ben causing the individual to fall down.

"Ouch." Carly said massaging her arm

"Are you alright." Ben said stretching his hand to help her up, which she took

"Yeah, I'm fine." Carly said straightening herself before looking at Ben. At that moment Carly was able to recognize him, having been one to use disguises before

"Wait you're-" Carly didn't get to finish as Ben placed his hand over her mouth while shushing her

"Please don't. I'm really tired right now and honestly don't think I might survive a reporters onslaught." Ben said letting go of her

"But-"

"There you are Honey. I've been looking everywhere for you." Misty said grabbing Ben

"Ho…n…ey." Ben stammered but Carly was able to see through her disguise and recognize Misty

"You're-" Carly was about to yell before Misty interrupted her

"Don't tell me you were planning to cheat on me with this beautiful lady." Misty said pulling Ben closer to her which caused both Ben and Carly to turn red

"What…no…that's not-" Carly started to stammer

"What's your name?" Misty asked causing Carly to pause before answering

"Carly."

"Well Carly, I believe it's time to take our leave. I hope to see you again." Misty said dragging Ben out which caused Carly to stand there speechless

"I just let a major story pass me by." Carly thought

Ben and Misty

"That was a close call don't you think?" Misty asked Ben

"You can…let go now." Ben said looking away

"Well you're no fun." Misty said letting go

"*Cough* I should go find Kiryu." Ben said disappearing into the crowd

After about ten minutes of searching through the crowd, Ben spots Kiryu sitting alone while spinning a card from his deck. Approaching the older duelist Ben makes his presence known

"Hey Kiryu." Ben called causing Kiryu to watch him skeptically. Seeing that Kiryu didn't recognize him, Ben takes off his sunglasses. "It's me, Ben."

"Why are you dressed like that?" Kiryu asked

"Avoiding reporters." Ben said casually. "Come on, let's go."

"It's about time." Kiryu said as he started walking beside Ben. "Where is Yusei?"

"He left before I could meet him, but Jack was taken to a hospital." Ben said

"Which one?"

"It's not far from here. Tetsu sent me his room number." Ben said showing Kiryu his phone

"Then I'll be heading there." Kiryu said

"You sure?" Ben asked

"Yes, I need to have a chat with Jack." Kiryu said as they walked out of the stadium

"Well in that case, good luck." Ben said

"Thanks, I'll keep in touch." Kiryu said as he walked away

"Guess it's time to head home." Ben said as he approached Misty's car

"Where's your friend?" Misty asked as Ben entered the car

"He left to see someone." Ben answered

"Well now, I guess it's time to head home." Misty said as she began driving

Ben's Room 6:00pm

"Wake up sleepy head." Misty said walking towards Ben's closet

"Is it morning yet?" Ben asked with his eyes closed

"No it's 6pm." Misty answered

"In that case, I'm not waking up." Ben said placing his pillow above his head

"We're going out." Misty said going through some of his clothes

"At this time?" Ben asked from under his pillow

"It's Jack Atlas Rising premiere." Misty said

"Still don't see why I should go." Ben

"So you want to leave me at the party all by myself? How could you." Misty acted hurt

"Fine, fine, you don't have to guilt me into coming." Ben sat up before noticing Misty was wearing a rather beautiful gown. Noticing the stare he was giving her, Misty tossed the suit she was holding on Ben's face to hide her blush

"You should change into those." She said finally composing herself

"Can't I just wear my uniform?" Ben asked looking at the suit

"You tossed it into the washing machine." Misty pointed out causing Ben to sign

"So, are you going to watch me change or…" Ben trailed off signalling the door which caused Misty to gulp before heading for the door

"Meet me in the living room when you're done." Misty said before leaving

Living Room

"I look ridiculous." Ben said trying to adjust his tie

"I think you look quite dashing in a suit." Misty said helping him adjust tie

"Only you would think that." Ben said

"Aren't you going to complement my dress?" Misty asked while smiling

"You look beautiful without it." Ben said as Misty smile evolved to a mischievous smirk. "Not in a weird way!" He quickly added having an idea of what she was thinking

"You so easy to tease you know." She said while laughing which caused him to pout. "Come on, let's go."

Atlas Rising Premiere

Stepping out of the limo that picked them, Misty preceded to lock hands with Ben while leading him through the Red Carpet. Noticing the arrival of Misty, multiple cameramen started taking pictures of them, causing Ben to

fidget.

"You should calm down." Misty whispered

"That's easy for you to say." Ben said as he noticed Carly and Angela arguing. This caught the attention of Misty as well who waved at Carly when she noticed her

Stepping into the Hall, Ben and Misty are met with the site of many New Domino dignitaries and super stars talking amongst themselves.

"Don't you think it's ironic that they make a documentary based on Jack Atlas now that he isn't the King of Turbo Dueling." Someone said

"They should have held off on the film premiere, so the film could have been called The Rise and Fall of Jack Atlas." One even sarcastically states

"Almost feel bad for Jack." Ben thought as Goodwin appears from the top of a massive staircase causing the crowd to applaud his arrival. As their applause ends, he starts speaking.

"What is a King? How should a King be? The answer has been prepared in this film." Rex said directing the crowds attention to the massive screen in the Hall

The film starts with some short clips of Jack's previous duels and then cuts to him being born in TOPS. Just as Goodwin was about to leave so the crowd can continue watching the clip, Angela walks towards Rex and starts asking him questions.

"Director Goodwin, do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?" Angela asked

"If time permits me." Rex said

"In the film, I find it odd that the narrative says Jack was born in TOPS when in reality he was born in Satellite. Could it be you were unaware of this information?" Angela asked causing Rex to narrow his eye

"Is it true Director Goodwin? That Jack Atlas is really from Satellite?" Another reporter asked as more started to crowd Rex

"I'm afraid I cannot answer such uncertain questions. That will be all." Rex said as he began to leave

"Well that escalated quickly." Ben said

"Ben." Misty called

"Yes." He answered facing her

"I hope you don't mind. I want to go speak with Carly." Misty said

"Why would I mind?" Ben asked confused

"Oh nothing, I just wanted to make sure you won't get jealous since I'll be leaving you for her." Misty said with a playful smile

"Seriously." Ben deadpanned

"Try not to get too bored without me." Misty said as she started walking towards Carly

As Ben watched Misty talk with Carly, someone approached him from behind

"There goes your date." The figure said

"We aren't dating." Ben said without turning to the figure

"Maybe not yet, but your entrance sure says otherwise. A shame she's a Dark Signer." The figure said causing Ben to turn around

Now taking a better look at the figure, Ben is at a lose of words as he is met face to face with the Red Hat protagonist of the Tag Force franchise smiling at him.

"It's good to finally meet you in person Officer Ben. Can we talk in private?" Red Hat asked
