Hospital
Standing Infront of Jack's room, Kiryu is mentally preparing himself to meet Jack. Luckily for him, he was already inside the hospital before reporters started trooping in. Knocking twice, he entered the room.
Seeing the new entry, Mikage tensed up as she saw Kiryu's criminal Mark, causing her to stand defensively Infront of Jack.
"I sorry but Mr Atlas isn't seeing anyone." Mikage said
"Not even a former friend?" Kiryu asked
"That's enough Mikage. Leave us." Jack said shocking her, but she nodded reluctantly before leaving
"If you need anything, please let me know." Mikage said leaving the room
As Mikage left, Jack and Kiryu merely stared at each other in silent, neither knowing what to say until Kiryu decided to break the Ice.
"You look like shit." Kiryu said taking the seat next to Jack
"You look well." Jack said causing Kiryu to scoff
"The only reason I look well is because Ben got me out of prison, which reminds me…how long have you been in New Domino?" Kiryu asked
"About a year or two." Jack said
"So you've been here for about a year now and didn't even bother to check if I was still alive?" Kiryu said glaring at Jack
"I…it wasn't that simple. I didn't even know you were held prison in New Domino until recently." Jack said looking away
"Did you bother to find out?"
"Look, a lot happened ever since you got arrested. I…I betrayed Satellite, our friends. I chose to abandon my past to forge a new future for myself." Jack admitted
"So basically you became selfish." Kiryu said folding his arm
"You're one to talk, considering you started a war with Sector Security even after we liberated Satellite." Jack said facing Kiryu
After an awkward moment of silence Kiryu spoke. "I guess being selfish is one thing we have in common. Though from the look of things, we're both changing."
"Maybe." Jack said
"But I want to ask you something. Why did Yusei turn me in?" Kiryu asked causing Jack to widen his eyes
"What are you talking about?" Jack said
"The night Sector Security arrested me. I saw Yusei talking with that Officer. The Officer even gave him a pat on the back for a job well done." Kiryu said
"That's not what happened. Yusei tried to take the fall for you." Jack said
"What?"
"You went too far, but Yusei couldn't bare to see you taken so he pretended he was our leader, since the person Sector Security wanted to arrest was the leader of the Enforcers." Jack said
"I didn't know that." Kiryu said in a low tune
"Well that's the entire gist." Jack said
"And here I was, blaming Yusei for my arrest. I guess Ben was right." Kiryu said
"Ben huh? From the look of things you guys have grown tight." Jack said with a hint of jealousy
"I wouldn't go as far as to say we've become best friends. But from my time with him, I can say he's become someone I've come to respect." Kiryu said
"How did he even know about you?" Jack asked
"He was actually investigating Yusei's escape from the facility when he heard about me." Kiryu said
"And he decided to help you? A little strange don't you think?" Jack asked
"He is a little strange, but in a good way. For one he isn't like the rest of Sector Security." Kiryu said
"True, but that's not the only thing." Jack said
"What other thing?" Kiryu asked with a raised brow
"For one, until last month he never existed." Kiryu said
"What do you mean?"
"Like there's literally no record of him in New Domino or Satellite. That's not adding the fact that he doesn't remember his past. Goodwin actually speculated that he died but came back without his memories." Jack said
"Came back? Like a zombie?" Kiryu asked shocked
"Not like a Zombie, but something different." Jack said
"How is that possible?"
"It's probably because of that Mark of his." Jack said
"You mean the one that appeared on his shoulder during his Duel with you? I kinda noticed you and Yusei have similar marks. What's up with that?" Kiryu asked
"It's a long story but I'll explain later. In the meantime, can you help me with my jacket. I want to get out of this hospital." Jack said
"Sure." Kiryu said handing Jack his Jacket. "While we're at it, I think we should find Yusei."
"Already ahead of you. I still have a score to settle with him." Jack said as he left the room with Kiryu
Not a moment later, they both noticed Carly in a nurse uniform
"Jack…Atlas…" Carly stammered as Jack walked past, ignoring her.
"A little harsh don't you think." Kiryu whispered to Jack as he caught up to him
"Wait!" Carly said catching up with the duo
"Seriously." Jack sign as he turned to face her
"I have…some questions…for you…My name's Carly." She stuttered
"Carly right? Look I'm a little busy why don't you-" Jack didn't get to finish as Kiryu fell down on all four
"What's wrong with him?" Carly panicked
"I don't know." Jack said as he noticed a Black Spider on Kiryu's neck. Before he could do anything, both him and Carly got blasted away by a gust of wind as a Spider mark appeared on Kiryu's hand
"I've seen this before." Carly said helping Jack up
"What do you mean?" Jack asked
"It's that Spider on his neck. Yusei Duel someone like that last night. Apparently, they can't control themselves." Carly said
"Is that so? Kiryu snap out of it!" Jack yelled
"Your friend isn't here. If you want him back you will need to defeat me, but that is an unlikely feat." The possessed Kiryu said activating his Duel Disk
"If that's what it takes to bring him back, fine by me. Can you Duel?" Jack asked Carly
"Well…kinda." Carly said
"Good. Here, help me put on my Duel Disk. You'll be helping duel." Jack said as his Mark glowed
"Now then, I'll extinguish your light in the name of the Dark Signers." Kiryu said creating a field of Dark energy
"We'll see about that." Both Jack and Carly said in unison
"Did I just say that?" Carly thought slightly embarrassed
"Duel!"
Turn:1
"I'll draw. First I'll activate Into the Void to draw one card but during my end phase I'll discard my entire hand. Next I'll summon Infernity Archfiend in attack position." Kiryu said
Infernity Archfiend (1800Atk/1200Def/Lvl4/Dark/Fiend)
"Now I'll place two facedowns and end my turn. Due to, Into the Void, I'm discarding my entire hand." Kiryu said discarding his hand
"That doesn't feel like a good thing to do." Carly said
"Carly, you're about to witness what my friends call, A Handless Duel." Jack said
Turn:2
"My turn." Carly proclaimed
"I believe you mean my turn." Jack said
"Sorry." Carly said
"I draw. I'll now summon Vice Dragon in attack position." Jack said as Carly summoned his Dragon
Vice Dragon (2000Atk/2400Def/Lvl5/Dark/Dragon)
"Now since I special summoned it without tribute, he loses half his attack and defense." Jack said
Vice Dragon (1000Atk/1200Def/Lvl5/Dark/Dragon)
"But now I'll release it to tribute Strong Wind Dragon." Jack said
Strong Wind Dragon (2400Atk/1000Def/Lvl6/Wind/Dragon)
"Now since I used a Dragon monster as tribute, he gains half the attack point of said monster." Jack said
Strong Wind Dragon (3400Atk/1000Def/Lvl6/Wind/Dragon)
"Since Vice Dragon had 2000 attacks and strong Wind, 2400, your Dragon gets-" Carly said counting her fingers
"3400 attack points." Jack said
"Amazing, fitting for the former King." Carly said causing Jack to grunt
"Seriously, I only lost yesterday so I still hold the title." Jack said annoyed
"Sorry." Carly apologize
"Now Strong Wind Dragon, destroy his monster." Jack commanded
Kiryu:2400
As Jack monster attacked, he noticed the blast actually destroyed a nearby door.
"That attack right now...That would mean his making this Duel real." Jack said
"The guy Yusei faced could do the same thing." Carly said
"Well then, I'll place two facedowns and end my turn." Jack said
Turn:3
"I'll draw. I'll summon Infernity Mirage in attack position." Kiryu said
Infernity Mirage (0Atk/0Def/Lvl1/Dark/Fiend)
"Now I can tribute him to special two Infernity monsters from my graveyard since I don't have any card in my hand. I'll be summoning Infernity Destroyer and Infernity Beetle." Kiryu said
Infernity Beetle (1200Atk/0Def/Lvl2/Dark/Insect)
Infernity Destroyer (2300Atk/1000Def/Lvl6/Dark/Fiend)
"Not good." Jack thought
"Now I'll tune my monsters to Synchro Summon the Death god, Infernity Doom Dragon." Kiryu said as clouds of dark smoke formed creating the eldritch horror with multiple eyes
Infernity Doom Dragon (3000Atk/2400Def/Lvl8/Dark/Dragon)
"Our monster is still stronger." Carly said trying not to get scared
"Not for long, since I don't have any card in my hand I can activate Doom Dragon effect which allows me to destroy one monster on your field to inflict damage equal to half it's attack points." Kiryu said
"That means…" Carly said
"Infernity Doom Dragon, destroy his monster." Kiryu ordered as his monster destroyed Wind Dragon causing Carly to jump Infront of Jack to save him from the damage
"What are you doing?" Jack asked
"Helping you." Was Carly's response
Jack:2300
"I'll end my turn." Kiryu said
Turn:4
"I'm so sorry Jack. I'm just holding you back." Carly said
"Nonsense, the only one that should be sorry are those Dark Signers controlling my friend. Now let's end this Duel Carly." Jack said
"Okay." Carly said straightening herself
"I Draw." Jack and Carly said in unison
Kaiba Corp Ren's Lab
Inside the lab, Ren is working on Ben's new Duel Disk. Shortly after their Duel, he had invited Ben over to work on the Duel Disk. Misty had elected to go home, saying she was tired from Ben continuously worrying her and so needed rest.
"Annnnd done." Ren said as he finished his work
"Not bad." Ben said observing the purple Duel Disk
"I made a few improvements to my Duel Disk as well. Now, both our Duel Disk can handle immense Duel energy anytime we Duel." Ren said handing Ben the Duel Disk
Not wasting anytime, Ben began testing the hologram card feature of his new Disk
"So what now?" Ren asked taking off his goggles. "The Dark Signers are definitely getting ready. So what's your plan?"
"Well I intend to take the power of the remaining Earthbounds for myself." Ben said
"That doesn't sound like something a hero would do." Ren pointed out
"Never considered myself to be a hero. I'm more of an Anti Villain." Ben said. "Regardless, I'm planning on infiltrating the Arcadia Movement which should help me prevent Carly from dying and find her Earthbound."
"Well now, guess I'll tag along with you." Ren said
"Thought you wanted to keep a low profile?" Ben asked
"Well, I change my mind. Besides, someone needs to keep you in check Incase you fall to the Dark side." Ren said with a smile
"You just don't want someone other than you to beat me." Ben said unamused
"You have no proof." Ren said wearing his Hat
"Sure."
"Say, you said you could talk to Duel Spirits and your entire deck is full of them. Doesn't that affect you?" Ren asked
"Nah, the only one's that talk the most are Fader and Resonator. The rest barely talk unless needed." Ben said
"Still, feels weird having multiple voices in your head." Ren said
"I've got used to it." Ben said
"So where to?"
"Let's go get my Runner from the Fortune Cup stadium." Ben said
Hospital
"First I'll play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy one of your facedowns. Next I'll summon Influence Dragon in attack position." Jack said
Influence Dragon (300Atk/900Def/Lvl3/Wind/Dragon)
"From my hand I'll activate the spell card, Monster Reborn to bring back Vice Dragon. With him on the field I'll tune my monster to summon Red Dragon Archfiend." Jack declared
Red Archfiend Dragon (3000Atk/2000Def/Lvl8/Dark/Dragon)
"Now I'll activate Scarlet Security to destroy your final facedown. Red Dragon Archfiend attack." Jack said
"You will be destroying your monster as well." Kiryu said as both monsters were destroyed
"True, but I'll use Call of Haunted to bring back Strong Wind Dragon to attack you directly." Jack said summoning another monster
"Noooo!" Kiryu yelled as his life points were reduced all the while, Jack attack caused a massive explosion in the hospital

With his defeat the spider on Kiryu's neck disappeared returning him back to normal
"What happened?" Kiryu asked as he stood up. Noticing Jack on the floor, he rushed towards his friend. "Jack, are you alright?"
"Get me out of this place." Jack groaned as Kiryu and Carly sneaked him out of the hospital.
