Chapter 15

Arcadia Building

As Ren and Bommer rush into the building, they are met with the sight of multiple Arcadia members fleeing outside, due to the earthquake. Ren's train of thoughts was put on hold as the elevator opened, revealing a slightly dazed Rua, Ruka and Akiza helping an unconscious Carly.

"What happened?" Bommer asked as he and Ren approached them

"I don't think questions are needed right now. She's clearly injured, so help me get her into my car." Ren said helping Akiza with Carly.

"Right." Bommer said as they all left the building towards Ren's car. On their way to the car, Ren noticed the floating Resonator spirit by Ruka

"Is that what I think it is?" Ren asked Ruka

"Ben told him to stay with me." She answered

"Ben's here?" Rua asked while rubbing his head

"Kids!" They all turned their heads towards Tanner and Yanagi rushing towards them

"You kid's alright?" Yanagi asked

"Here, just a little headache that's all." Rua answered

"If I get my hands on that Sayer, he's gonna regret locking us up." Tanner growled

"Sayer locked you up?" Akiza asked clearly unaware of the information

"Yeah, if it wasn't for that earthquake, we wouldn't have gotten out. By the way, what caused it?" Yanagi asked

"We don't know." Ruka said

"Hey." Ren said tossing his key towards Tanner, who caught it. "Can you drive her to the hospital? I have to go check on Ben."

"Sure, you a friend of his?" Tanner asked eying Ren

"Something like that." Ren said as he was about to head into the building

"I'm coming with you." Akiza said before Ren placed out his hand to stop her

"No. You guys make she gets to the hospital." Ren said

"Who are you by the way?" Akiza asked

"He's Ren Kaiba!" Yanagi gasped after getting a closer look at the boy

"Wait seriously!" Rua yelped

"Easy now, someone needs medical attention." Ren said pointing at Carly

"Right sorry." Rua said before Resonator flew towards Ren shoulder

"I think he wants to follow you to Ben." Ruka said

"I don't mind the company." Ren said as he reached into his pocket, before pulling out Ancient Fairy Dragon. "Here, since I'm taking the little guy with me, I think you should have this."

Seeing the card caused Ruka to gasp as she received it. Before she could protest, Ren and Resonator were already rushing towards the building.

"He's on floor 32!" Akiza yelled towards Ren as the rest of the group prepared to take Carly to the hospital

Meanwhile

As Ren and Resonator stood in the elevator (or in Resonator's case, floated), Ren decided to start up a conversation

"So, can you actually talk?" Ren asked the spirit. "Or are you like Kuriboh and Kuribon?"

"I can talk." Resonator replied

"Hmmm." Ren merely hummed as the elevator door opened. Stepping out, Resonator began leading him towards Sayers office. Reaching the office, Ren wasted to time in rushing in.

"Ben has been busy." Ren whistled after noticing the entire office was a mess with an unconscious Sayer in a handcuff. In that moment Ben walked out of Sayer's secret room with a large pile of documents before dropping them on the desk.

"Good, you're here." Ben said as Resonator flew towards him before disappearing. "You can help me move the body."

"You're saying it like he's already dead and we're about leaving the crime scene." Ren said as he threw Sayer over his shoulder

"Killing him isn't my call to make." Ben said rubbing his head for a moment.

"You alright?" Ren asked

"Yeah, just a slight headache." Ben said waving him off. "What about Bommer?"

"He's heading to the hospital along with Akiza and the gang." Ren paused before adding. "Also I snatched Ancient Fairy Dragon from Demak and handed it over to Ruka."

"Good." Ben nods

"So did you get the Monkey Earthbound?" Ren asked

"It wasn't here." Ben said causing his friend to raise a brow

"What do you mean it wasn't here?" Ren asked

"During my Duel with Sayer, Ccapac said he couldn't sense any other Earthbound besides Aslla Piscu." Ben said. "I even had Ccarayhua sweep the area after my Duel."

"I don't think that's a good thing." Ren muttered as he dropped Sayer

"Probably." Ben signed. "Guess I should have expected the future wouldn't be exactly the same with me getting involved in the main plot."

"So what now?" Ren asked

"There's only one Dark Signer left besides well Rex, unless the other Earthbounds are going to find a new host." Ben groaned. "Now we don't know who those other Signers are."

"I say we focus on just finding Rudger." Ren said. "If we encounter more Dark Signers we can deal with them."

"Right." Ben said before looking at Sayer. "But first, we need to deal with him. I can't trust Sector Security with detaining him."

"True, Goodwin never did get involved with Sayer." Ren said. "Possible because he knew some of his secrets and used them as leverage to get Sector Security of his back."

"So we lock him in your basement?" Ben asked

"You know for an officer of the law, you're really beginning to sound like a criminal." Ren joked

"Says the guy who just beat up multiple officers." Ben threw back

"Well it helped in freeing Boomer didn't it?" Ren said as he started making a phone call

"Got an idea?" Ben asked

"Better." Ren replied. "Hello, Uncle Mokuba. It's your favorite nephew Ren. Could you set up that holding cell my father used on that guy named Aigami? Thanks." Ren said as he hung up

"Well that's one problem taken cared of." Ben said. "Thanks."

"No probs, the cell should keep him from using his Psychic powers." Ren said

"All that remains is to break the news to Misty." Ben said

"That would have to wait though, since your Runner is still at the stadium and my car was used to carry Carly." Ren added

Satellite

Right above the Satellite district, four figure are seen in a helicopter looking for a certain Yusei Fudo.

"Are you sure Yusei is here?" Kiryu asked

"Yes, my Intel said he passed here with another Satellite." Tetsu said as he piloted the helicopter. Just then Jack noticed a familiar building

"That's the orphanage." He noted as Mikage noticed Yusei and another figure outside

"And that's Yusei." Mikage noted

"Take us down." Jack ordered as the helicopter landed a few meters away from Yusei. Stepping out first, Jack started approaching Yusei and an old friend

"Jack?" Yusei asked with a raised brow. "What are you doing here?"

"I came looking for you. Isn't that obvious?" Jack said before turning his attention to Yusei's companion. "Good to see again Crow."

"Well no shit, you've got some nerves coming back here after what you did to Yusei." Crow said while glaring at Jack.

"Cut him some slack Crow, we've all been through a lot." Kiryu said as he approached the group

"Kiryu, you're-" Yusei gasped while watching his former friend

"Hello Yusei." Kiryu greeted before being tackled by Crow who enveloped him in a hug

"I'm not dreaming then, it really is you." Crow said after letting go. "What happened to you, how did you get out?"

"You can thank our officer Ben for that." Jack said

"Wait, the guy who beat you?" Crow asked causing Jack to groan

"You can stop reminding me of my loss Crow." Jack said. "Besides that's not why we're here."

"Before anything, Yusei I want to ask you something." Kiryu said causing the boy to look at him. "Did you sell me out to Sector Security?"

"No." Yusei said before Crow added

"He tried to take the fall for you."

"That's all I wanted to hear." Kiryu signed. "I should apologize blaming you for my arrest."

"You shouldn't, besides we should have done more to stop you from being arrested." Yusei said placing his hand on Kiryu's shoulder

"Okay we get it, we're all sorry." Jack muttered

"You don't seem sorry." Yusei noted

"Not yet." Jack said as he approached Yusei before driving his fist into his stomach causing him to double over

"Jack, what the hell are you doing!" Crow growled

"Stay out of this Crow." Jack said as he approached a rising Yusei before delivering more hits to his opponent. Having had enough, Yusei dodged one of Jack's punches before decking him on the face

"Looks like you haven't lost your touch." Jack said with a smile before rushing Yusei. The two started trading blows with each other until Kiryu decided to grab both their fists

"Seriously, do I always need to stop you guys from fighting." Kiryu groaned

"Hmph." Jack hummed

"Man, just like that the Enforcers are back." Crow said with a smile

"Not entirely, but we have other things to deal with." Kiryu said

"That's right, you said there was a reason you both came here." Crow said

"It's the Dark Signers." Jack said not missing a beat

"What about them?" Yusei asked with a serious expression

"Recently, they somehow controlled Kiryu to attack me." Jack said causing Yusei's and Crow's eyes to widen

"What?!"

"Apparently something similar happened to you, right Yusei?" Jack asked

"Yes, it was a spider similar to that one we saw when you Dueled Ben. It forced him to Duel me." Yusei said remembering his encounter with the Drone

"If these Dark Signers can force our friends to Duel us, then they're a bigger threat than we expected." Crow stated before facing Yusei. "Yusei, didn't you say that this Ben was a Dark Signer?"

"Apparently he's different." Jack said

"Regardless, Goodwin said we should defeat them." Yusei said. "I don't trust him, but considering how dangerous they are, we don't have much of a choice."

"The issue now is to find them." Kiryu noted

But first I think we need to gather the other Signers, Ben included." Yusei suggested

"The question now is how do we find them?" Crow asked

"We'll figure that out later, but first let's go see Martha." Yusei said

"You're right." Kiryu said before facing Jack

"Fine, but we better hurry." Jack said as the group started entering the Orphanage.

Arcadia Building Rooftop

With Sayer still unconscious, Ben and Ren are seen waiting in silence for the arrival of Mokuba Kaiba.

"Seriously though, how hard did you hit him?" Ren asked referring to Sayer

"Hard enough." Was Ben's response

"So, what do you think Misty would do to him?" Ren asked

"I don't know. Though I think she won't kill him." Ben said

"And why's that?"

"One of the main reason she killed Sayer was because of Ccarayhua influence." Ben said. "No offense."

"None taken." Ccarayhua replied

"Something tells me that if she doesn't kill him, you will." Ren noted

"I can't deny that." Ben said after awhile. "He might not look like it, but Sayer's a threat."

"Same could be said about us." Ren said causing Ben to glance at him. "I mean being threats to the world."

"So I should spare him?" Ben asked

"I don't know." Ren admitted. "But I want to let you know that Kaiba Corp has one of the most secured prison facilities to exist if you spare him."

"I see."

"Also word of advise, don't let Misty bare the burden of killing him if she actually decides to go through with it." Ren said

Just then multiple Helicopters started descending on the building. Stepping out of one of them was an adult Mokuba accompanied with four Men in Black.

"Ren." Mokuba greeted as he approached his nephew

"Xup uncle." Ren said enveloping the older man in a hug.

"Who are these?" Mokuba asked referring to Ben and an unconscious Sayer

"The unconscious one is a criminal while this is my friend." Ren said

"You have friends?" Mokuba asked before smiling slightly. "And here I thought your only friend was S-"

"Anyways, you should really help me lock this guy up." Ren quickly stopped his uncle from completely his statement, something Ben took notice of

"Ben Strega Sir." Ben introduced himself

"Mokuba Kaiba, nice to meet you." Mokuba said as he shook Ben's hand before signalling his Security to pick Sayer up.

"I think we should start heading out." Ren said

"Right, both of you get inside the helicopter." Mokuba said as he led the duo.

"Could you drop me at the Fortune Cup Stadium?" Ben asked

"I don't see any problem with that." Mokuba said as Ben thanked him

"I'll be heading to the hospital Carly is being kept." Ren said

"I'll meet you there after I've seen Misty." Ben said as the helicopter took off

Misty's Apartment

Having seen the news about the earthquake that hit New Domino, Misty had remained restless with worry over Ben's safety. She had a wild guess that he was somewhat involved with the mysterious earthquake.

Pacing back and forth in the living room, she tried calling his line but it wasn't reachable. Unknown to Misty a figure wearing a Dark robe and the Nightshroud mask was observing her from her from the shadows.
