Peter sat in silence, his gaze drifting aimlessly into the expanse of the sky, a haze of thoughts clouding his mind. The persistent ringing in his ears echoed the chaos of that fateful day, forcing him to relive the traumatic sequence of events. The Green Goblin, a new and formidable adversary, had descended upon them like a storm, obliterating multiple scientific facilities in a whirlwind of destruction.
The memories of his team's desperate struggle flooded back—each of their powers and skills rendered useless against the relentless onslaught. They had fought valiantly, but it was as if they were mere shadows against the overwhelming force of that monster. Now, as he wrestled with the weight of his failure, a fierce determination ignited within him. He knew he had to devise a plan, a way to shield his friends and family from the looming threat of the Goblin. The thought of their safety fueled his resolve; he couldn't let fear dictate their fate any longer.
"Hey, are you okay?" Teresa asked, touching Peter's shoulder. Peter shrieked as he turned to face Teresa. "Whoa! It's okay! It's just me!"
"Damn, Teresa!" Peter cried with a sigh. "Don't sneak up on me like that."
"Sorry, we were talking and you just seemed spaced out," Teresa said, gesturing to everyone who was looking at Baymax.
"Oh, right, sorry, yeah, some crazy ninja broke into Fred's." Peter shook himself out of his own head. "Right. What does the footage tell us?"
"Is he doing okay?" Hiro asks Peni.
"You kidding?" Peni asked with a scoff. "Ever since our encounter with that Goblin guy, he is like half the guy he used to be."
"Nearly being blown up in a crumbling building will do that," Teresa sighed.
"Microwave cam? Seriously?" GoGo asked as they saw the footage.
"Kinda smart," Teresa shrugged. "A little odd, but smart."
"Baymax, enhance," Hiro said, getting them to zoom in on the footage.
Baymax did just so. "Enhancing."
The footage didn't show anything useful when the video became clear.
"Well, that was helpful."
That was when they heard someone come in as they looked over and saw Professor Granville enter. She didn't seem to be interested in what they were doing and got to work on fixing the robot bots that Obake and his crew destroyed a while back.
"Carry on with your surveillance analysis like I'm not even here," Granville said as she got back to work.
"I still can't get used to Professor Granville knowing we're Big Hero 9," Wasabi admitted.
"Again, pretend I'm not here," Granville said, getting them spooked as she approached silently.
"What did they take, Fred?" Peter asked him.
"That's the thing, nothing's missing, not even my most valuable collectible," Fred said, showing off his underpants. "The actual underpants from the Captain Fancy movie."
"Yeah, I was wondering about those," Teresa said.
"Were you not wearing pants?" Peni asks.
"Mr. Fredrickson!" Granville called. "Your collectible undergarments are not relevant to the situation, and... Oops. Sorry. I'm not here."
"Wait." Peter stopped her. "Professor Granville, what were you gonna say?"
"I don't want to tell you how to superhero. But you have to look for the details within the details." Granville said, zooming in on the footage to see the case had a temperature setting. "That is not just any case."
"It's temperature controlled." Hiro understood.
"Whatever the thief stole, had to be stored at precisely 1.6 degrees Celsius," Granville said.
"That is the factory-recommended temperature for consumer refrigeration," Baymax said.
"So the thief stole something from Fred's fridge?" Hiro asks.
"A burglar that steals leftovers." GoGo scoffed. "How exciting."
"Thanks for the tip, Professor Granville," Honey said.
"Yeah, good catch," Teresa commented.
"I'm available any time you need assistance," Granville said as she left. "DM me!"
"Did she just say, "DM me"?" Peter asks.
Making it over to Fred's place, they had Fred search the fridge to try and find out what the thief could have stolen.
"Fred, is there anything missing?"
"Nope," Fred stated. "Even my Yaki Taco from last week is right where I left it."
"I would not advise..." Baymax was too late as Fred took a bite out of it. "...eating that."
"That's disgusting, Fred," Teresa said.
"But we should probably check out my parent's fridge too," Fred said, pushing a button on the wall that showed a secret wall hidden in the building.
"Your parents have their own refrigerator?" Honey asks.
"Yes. Your point?" Fred said as he prepared to open the door. "Warning: stinky cheese ahead."
They then watched Fred open it and saw that there were dozens of stinky cheese on the shelves. Then going downward to the last shelf, they saw there was indeed something missing. Hiro leaned down and found a small fragment of the stinky cheese that was left over.
"Baymax, how are you on cheese analysis?" Hiro wonders.
"Downloading dairy database," Baymax said as he scanned it. "Analyzing enzymatic characteristics. White Stilton Gold."
"Whoa, it's worth more by the ounce than actual gold," Honey said as she googled it.
"Thus, the awesome cooler," Wasabi said. "I gotta get one of those coolers."
That was when they got a call on Baymax from the Professor. "Professor?"
"Students, rare truffles have been stolen from Nobu Hills' most exclusive restaurant," Granville called them in.
"And we just figured out the burglar stole an expensive cheese from Fred's parents," Teresa said.
"Our thief has good taste," Wasabi commented.
"Yes, high-end foods," Granville said as she pulled up several photos of locations. "That makes the most probable target the Caviar Bazaar, or the Exotic Spicery."
"Looks like we're splitting up." Peter guessed.
"Thanks again for your help, Professor," Hiro said.
"Of course," Granville said. "And again, do not hesitate to DM me."
"All quiet at the Exotic Spicery," Teresa called in as she and Peni were with Wasabi.
"The only crime here is what they're charging for saffron," Wasabi said.
"Nobody steals from my parents," Fred said as he and Hiro made it to the scene with Peter. "Let's catch this thief."
Hiro looked into the window and was shocked. "White beluga caviar. Wait, it's how much? For fish eggs?"
"Wait. That's what caviar is?" Fred asked in disgust. "Ugh! Capital barf!"
"Nausea. I am equipped to treat such-" Baymax was preparing to treat him when they heard something happening.
Looking into the room, they saw their thief cutting through the ceiling. "Wait... does this look familiar?"
"Looks like every other thief," Hiro shrugged. "Baymax, rocket fist."
"To break the window would cause damage to private property," Baymax said.
That was when their thief cut through the glass instantly and rushed past the street before they could react. The thief leaped up the fireplace across the street and stopped only long enough to reveal that she was indeed Momokase.
"Hello, boys." Momokase greets them as she rushes off.
"Hey, that was-
"Momakase."
They then began to chase after her as Fred leaped upward where Momokase quickly cut the clothing line and clothes fell on top of him.
"Underpants!" Fred yells. "At least they're clean." Then he charged up to tackle her. "Super jump!" But he ended up missing and going much further than he anticipated. "Not good!"
Momokase reached the roof where she saw Baymax and Peter was waiting for her. "Do you wish to voluntarily surrender?"
Momokase then drew her sword and was ready to fight them.
"Told you it wasn't gonna work," Hiro told his robot friend.
Baymax then dodged several strikes from Momokase and Hiro ended up falling due to the slicing separating the two of them. "Hiro."
Baymax was distracted long enough for Momokase to cut through his leg, causing him to lose balance. "Balance awry. I will fall now."
Momokase watched him fall and then turned to face Peter. He watched as she raced in and he stood his ground, four mechanical spider legs coming from the back of his suit, these ones being enhanced and made stronger than his old ones with the tips made out of a small fragment of Wasabi's blades to enhance their strength.
"What?!" Momokase was shocked to see the gear.
"Yeah, you aren't the only one who got some upgrades!" Peter stated as he then punched Momokase back, sending her flying.
Momokase got over the shock and quickly sped around, racing in as fast as she could and drew her sword to strike but Peter worked just as fast as he punched her over and over using the arms, one of them being used to block the sword and the others going in to strike her.
But after a minute or so, Momokase was beginning to learn to see through his frantic movements and was beginning to use her sword to block off the attacks. Hiro saw he was in trouble and looked to Baymax.
"Baymax, overdrive time."
"Warning: Overdrive mode," Baymax said as he began to transform into his stronger form. His leg was replaced whilst his wings became swords.
Momokase kicked Spider-Man before leaping and ran down Baymax's sword and sliced through it before Baymax managed to knock the sword out of his hands. Peter shot at her legs, getting her to become shocked and worried when she saw she was captured. Then Baymax began to lose energy and dropped his sword. Peter and Momokase looked at one another and down at the sword.
Momokase reached for the sword as Peter shot out a web to try and latch onto it. But Momokase was quicker, slicing the ground to cut the webbing and then swing the sword to throw Peter and smack him across the street, slamming into the building and embedding into it. Momokase then drew the sword into Baymax, causing him to explode, sending fragments of his armor everywhere.
"NO!" Hiro cried as Momokase escaped.
"I am in need of repair-pair-pair...Oh." Baymax was in fragments.
Baymax was getting fixed up by Peni and Hiro at SFIT the next day.
"Poor Baymax," Honey said as they looked over the destroyed Baymax.
"What happened?" GoGo asks.
"Momakase happened," Hiro stated. "She's our gourmet burglar."
"What?!" Wasabi cried in shock, but then calmed down and put it together. "That actually makes perfect sense, doesn't it?"
"Baymax, can you still scan for Momakase?" Hiro asked, getting Baymax to speak in Spanish.
"His language setting is fried too," Peni explained what was wrong.
"Don't you guys think it's weird we haven't gotten any alerts - about Momakase getting out of jail?" GoGo asks.
That was when Professor Granville came out of nowhere and appeared. "Momakase escaped." That spooked everyone. "They kept it quiet. Didn't want to alarm the public."
"Wow, Professor Granville, how did you know that?" Honey wonders.
" I DM'ed the warden, Gary." Professor Granville explained, showing she had a photo of her and Gary.
"Peter, think you could call Yuri and see what she can do?" Teresa asked, seeing Peter staring off into the distance again.
"He's been a bit out of it," Hiro said in worry. "It was like he was distracted while fighting Momokase."
"Wonder what he's thinking about..." Honey said.
"Terrorizing?" Norman asked in shock. "Wait, hold on, I am here for my son. That is the only reason I came to this city, you think I came here for some sort of crime spree of tech?"
"Like I said, you are the only-" Peter then felt something that caused his senses to alert him.
The two of them then looked over when they heard something clanging from above. The office had a small sphere that rolled down from the building and bounced closer toward the two of them. Norman seemed just as confused at what was happening as he looked down at the sphere.
"What is-" Norman was asking when Peter then tackled him to the ground.
That small orb caused a massive explosion that caused the ground to crumble beneath them. Peter clung to Norman as the explosion took them downward into the chaos.
"Peter, Peter, Peter." The monster repeated in Peter's mind as he came back to the real world.
"Peter!" Teresa called, causing Peter to flinch and realize that Teresa was who was calling him.
"Oh, hey," Peter said as he noticed everyone was missing. "Where is everyone?"
"Oh, Granville might have them running laps," Teresa said.
Peter shook his head in confusion. "Wait, what? How long was I out of it?"
"A good minute or two," Teresa said. "Should we do something about her?"
"Why?" Peter shrugged. "She seems to be helping out. And to be honest... after everything, I am not really up to leading the team."
"Really?" Teresa asked in worry. "Pete, is something wrong? I know that things got a little intense during that whole-"
"Almost getting blown to bits?" Peter asks. "Getting attacked by a giant monstrous goblin? The city in danger again?"
"Yeah, more or less," Teresa shrugged.
"We just got rid of Obake, and now this guy shows up," Peter said with a sigh. "I am starting to wonder if our existence is just causing things to get worse."
"Our very strength invites challenge," Teresa said, getting Peter to look at her in surprise. "Challenge might insight conflict, but with that conflict has the chance to breed catastrophe. But within that catastrophe, we must always remember..."
"With great power comes great responsibility." Peter finished her quote. He then laughed a little. "Ben did have a way with words."
"We might be responsible that this Goblin is here, we might not be," Teresa explained her point. "But he is here, and so are we. So we have a choice. Do nothing, or fight. What do you want to do?"
Peter looked over at her with a grin. "You know my choice."
The next day, Hiro and Peni finished up Baymax and he was beginning to come back online.
"Diagnostic mode: Scanning capabilities offline," Baymax said.
That was when everyone else came in with a yawn.
"Any sign of Momakase?" Hiro asks them.
"No-makase." Fred yawned as he fell. "Sorry. I could have sold that better if I wasn't so sleepy."
"It looks like you two have been up all night too," Honey said.
"Yeah, I fixed his language setting but his scanner is still buggy," Hiro said as they watched Baymax's head inflate.
"Also, there's that. We don't know why, and are working it out," Peni said.
"I am concerned," Baymax said. "This may alarm potential patients."
That was when they saw the others already fell asleep and Baymax's head sputters. That was when an air horn blaring awoke them and Granville came down from a rope.
"Wait, how did she...?" Peter was confused.
"Rise and shine, heroes! It's high-intensity workout time." Granville tells them.
"How long has she been up there?" Teresa asks.
"You need to be faster, stronger, smarter." Granville went on. "Today, we're focusing on faster."
"Yeah, I'm as fast as I can," Peter stated.
"I think we'd be faster..." Hiro yawns. "...after a nap."
"A nap? Do you think Momakase is napping right now?" Granville asks.
"She's probably just regular sleeping 'cause it's 6:00 a.m.," Fred said.
Granville blares the horn, getting everyone running. "Let's go, let's go, let's go!"
Baymax waved them off. "Goodbye."
Everyone was getting over the recent workout while lying down in exhaustion.
Honey Lemon sighs. "I know she means well, but Professor Granville must be stopped."
"Agreed," GoGo stated. "She's totally out of control."
"Yeah, she "upgraded" my blades the other day and now they make this annoying buzzing sound," Wasabi said, showing his blades buzzing loudly.
"Maybe one of us could ask her to take it down a notch," Honey said.
"How about all the notches?" GoGo asks.
" Yeah, someone with a rebellious, anti-authority streak," Wasabi said, looking at Peni and Hiro.
"Hey, I am not here long enough to begin rebelling," Peni stated. "I have a three-month warranty before that."
"Don't look at me," Hiro said. "I didn't listen to her last semester, and almost destroyed the city." He said, looking over the fragments of the tech.
That was when Fred approached in a towel and robe. "You know what? I think I like it when Professor G bosses us around. It's actually relaxing. I don't have to think, like, at all."
"Peter?" Teresa asks.
"I actually think an outside perspective from us is needed," Peter said with a sigh. "Look, we almost died because we weren't prepared for that Green Goblin fellow. Maybe Granville can help us be more prepared."
"I've made a decision." Professor Granville said in her office to the team. "We need to take the fight to Momakase."
"Ah, well, we could try her old hideout," Honey said.
"Too obvious," Peter stated. "No villain ever returns after the hero learns it. Remember Jackal?"
"That dude had hideouts everywhere," Teresa reminded him.
"My point is, she wouldn't go back there," Peter stated.
"Or maybe she'll think we'll think it's too obvious," Wasabi said.
"Or maybe she'll think that we'll think that she'll think that we'll think..." Honey was getting a little lost.
"People." Granville got their attention. "It's the only lead we've got." She then showed a board where she pinpointed all the locations where she'd been along with what she stole. "Now, here's my plan. At dawn, you will raid Momakase's old hideout."
"Ooh," Fred said. "Dawn might be tricky for me. I have to be up late for this fancy dinner thing." He then took out a small white flower. "I'm meeting my mom at a super exclusive meal prepared by a mystery chef. She paid a fortune!"
"I gotta ask...what's with the flower?" Peni asks.
"The mystery chef chooses a color and only uses the most expensive ingredients with that color," Fred explained.
Hiro then walked up to the board and circled white in everything Momokase stole. "Did anybody else notice that everything Momakase stole has the color white in its name?"
"Freddy, where is this mystery dinner?"
"Let me check the Internet-vite, or, "invite," as I call it," Fred said, pulling out his phone.
"That's an Evite," Teresa muttered.
"Oh, look," Fred said. "We're going to the same place."
They waited for him to realize what was happening as Hiro showed him that Momokase's old hideout was where this dinner was being held.
"Ohhh." Fred finally got it.
Everyone began to suit up. Peni was the only one who wasn't capable of helping since her suit was still destroyed and only half-fixed. Everyone else prepared to head out with their gear.
"If we split up, we can surround Momakase," Hiro said.
"Momakase got away because you split up," Granville said, pushing them closer together. "Stick together this time."
"But together we're more vulnerable to a-"
"Trap? She doesn't know you're coming." Granville stated. "She won't be able to handle all of you at once."
"See? She does the thinking for us." Fred stated. "Just go with it, guys. That's how I get through most of my life."
"I guess if we move fast, it should work out," Peter shrugged.
"Alright," Teresa sighed.
"Okay, I guess we're going in together." Hiro shrugged.
Making it to the location everyone was ready to head in through the back door to the kitchen to get Momokase fast.
"Remember, we're not splitting up this time." Hiro reminded everyone.
Peter busted down the door, getting everyone in the room to rush in and surround Momokase.
"Give up, Momakase! You're outnumbered!" Peter stated.
"Let me think about it," Momokase said, getting a knife. "No."
Momokase threw a knife, cutting a swinging shelf, causing it to swing over to Peter, causing him to leap to dodge the attack. That was followed by Momokase tossing another toward Teresa, who used her wings to block the blades. Momokase then tossed another towards Honey Lemon, causing her purse to shoot off a few chem-balls as she ran down a hallway. Everyone chased her down into a pantry when they saw she was gone.
"Where'd she go?"
Momokase leaped down out of the pantry and pushed a button, closing the door with reinforced steel.
"Stand back," Wasabi said, going to use his blades to cut through. But that didn't end up working as he saw there were only scratches. "That's weird."
"Hang on," Peter said, trying out his spider limbs to strike the door, only to leave small puncture marks. "Not good..."
"This is a job for fire breath!" Fred cried, trying to use the fire from his suit to destroy the door. It didn't do anything but leave a scorch mark on the door. "Okay. Apparently it's fire-breath proof."
Momakase opened a small break to talk and see them. "Sorry, kids. This pantry is impenetrable."
"You won't get away with this, Momakase," Teresa said.
"Nonsense," Momokase stated. "I already have."
Then she closed the hole and left them alone. "Hmm," Fred said.
"What are you thinking, Freddy?" Honey asks.
""Impenetrable pantry." Impen Impen... Im-pantry-able! Yeah!" Fred cheered.
"Never ask him that again." GoGo sighed.
"Peni? Professor Granville?" Hiro called out. "I don't know if you'll get this. Momakase has us trapped and we need help."
Granville watched as they saw the team was captured and sighed. "This is all my fault."
Baymax nodded. "Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes, yes. No, no. Yes."
"Yeah, he still has a lot of damage," Peni admitted.
"Laying your emotional baggage on a broken robot and a child," Granville sighed. "You've really outdone yourself, Grace."
"Yes."
Peni scoffed. "Well, they need help."
"You're right. Let's fix this." Granville said.
Peni and Granville got hard at work fixing not only Baymax but also working on fixing the SP//DR so they could get back out there. The suit was put together a bit too fast, but it was enough for them to take on the fight.
"Good enough." Peni shrugged, watching the screen glitch.
"Now let's find some appropriate dinner wear," Granville said, getting to the random various spare suit parts the team have laying around.
Granville came in and kicked in the door, seeing that not only was Krei there, but so was Liv Amara, and Fred's nemesis, Mole.
"Where is Momakase?" Granville asked.
Everyone looked to the chef and they then recognized who she was. "Wait." Krei cried. "That's the chef who tried to poison me."
He then got to work trying to spit up the food he had already eaten.
Granville drew one of Wasabi's blades on her hands, preparing to fight. "You call that cutting edge? This is cutting edge."
Momokase drew one of her blades and raced to attack. She swung her blade, causing Granville to try to block the blades. This was of course all a distraction while Peni and Baymax snuck through the back of the place to where the others were.
Peni opened the small doorway and opened the hole. "Hey, guys."
"Peni?" Teresa was surprised to see her already. "Get us out of here!"
"Trying, whatever coding system this is, it's really advanced," Peni admitted.
"Baymax, rocket fist," Hiro said, watching the door clang but nothing else.
"Im-pantry-able." Fred whispered.
"Overdrive." Hiro called.
That was when Baymax began to transform and then punched the door down. "Are you guys for serious?" Then he fell over.
Granville was tripped up by Momokase as she prepared to finish the fight. "You're out of your league here. But don't worry. I'll make it quick."
Hiro then used the magnet to rip the sword out of her hands and send it over towards them. "Dinner's over, Momakase."
"Yeah, you're no match for us without your sword." Wasabi mocked.
"True." Momokase said. "Good thing I have these."
That was when they watched as her eyes turned into slits and that was followed by her nails stretching out into ten blades similar to her sword.
"How did you do that?" Honey asked.
"Follow-up question; why would you do that?" Teresa gagged.
Then Momokase chased them around the area, causing everyone to freak out and dodge the strikes. GoGo tossed her disk and watched Momokase rip it to shreds. Wasabi was tossed the sword and began to fight off Momokase's finger nail blades. Teresa flew in and shot several times, but she worked fast and sliced through the projectiles and then leaped up, cutting the wings and sending Teresa toppling over and crashing into the wall.
Momokase then was caught in a chem-ball, but broke out just as fast and chased Honey Lemon. Peter came in, sending several strike switch his new arms, dodging her advances. Fred shot a fireball from above, getting Momokase's attention as she chased after him. But that was the plan for Peni to use the SP//DR to knock over the crazy woman, sending her falling onto a plate of ice that Honey Lemon shot off. Hiro then shot magnets that attracted the kitchen equipment and slammed around Momokase, keeping her down. Peter shot dozens of webbing around her, ending with Honey Lemon shooting a dozen balls of ice that coated Momokase like a igloo to keep her contained.
.
..
"Whew. That... was some Lady Deathstrike there." Peter stated in terror.
"I want to apologize for being so intrusive." Granville said as she approached everyone. "Heroics are your area of expertise, not mine."
"It's all good, Professor Granville," Peter promised.
"Guys! Guys! Guys, I do not have a mouth." Baymax said, falling down the stairs.
Granville winced as she looked at Peter. "Why didn't you tell me I was going too far?"
"I was just trying to learn from a fresh perspective," Peter shrugged. "After everything that went down with that Goblin... I haven't been focusing as I should be. I thought Norman was the bad guy and almost got everyone killed. I judged him too fast. Thinking he was another Obake."
"You've been doing this a long time, Mr. Parker. Everyone is capable of making mistakes, even if they have been doing it for years." Granville assured him.
Peter nodded and smiled. "Thanks."
That was when his senses went off and they watched Momokase burst through the cocoon of ice and saw her face turn blue and her hair turned more messy and her eyebrows grew much larger. She then climbed up the building and escaped through a skylight before anyone could properly react.
"Can we talk about those nails now?" Wasabi asks.
"Classic Phase Two villain upgrade," Fred stated.
Norman Osborn stood in the ruins of his once-grand office, the echo of destruction reverberating in his heart. The walls, scarred and blackened from the Goblin's chaotic rampage, loomed around him, a stark reminder of the battle that had unfolded. He stepped out onto the shattered balcony, the remnants of glass glinting in the sunlight, and gazed down at the city that had crumbled under the weight of turmoil. The skyline, once radiant and full of promise, now lay in disarray, buildings standing like skeletons against the sky.
Suddenly, a soft thump broke the desolation, and he turned just in time to see the iconic figure of Spider-Man gracefully descending from above, silhouetted against the glaring sun like a guardian angel. "Didn't think I would see you here again," Norman remarked, raising a glass to his lips, the bitter taste of regret mingling with the swill inside.
"Sorry," Peter replied, his expression earnest as he straightened himself. "About… calling you the Goblin. My track record with scientists in this city hasn't exactly been stellar. I could list off a handful of them who either wanted me dead or went completely off the deep end."
Norman conceded with a wry smile, "I suppose that does paint me as a bit of a bad guy. I am the new face in town, after all, and strange things often happen when I'm around." He took a breath, trying to shake off the shadows of doubt. "But I assure you, neither my company nor I have anything to do with the Green Goblin. My son wanted to go to school here, and I figured I would move out here to stay close to him. He's the only family I have..."
With determined resolve, Peter leaped down and landed beside him, the weight of their uneasy past hanging in the air. "How about we start fresh? Break that cycle of mistrust?" He extended his hand, a hopeful gesture in a world filled with suspicion. "Spider-Man."
Norman felt a flicker of optimism spark within him as he grasped the younger man's hand. "Dr. Norman Osborn," he introduced himself, his voice steady. "Head of OsCorp Industries."
Peter's curiosity was palpable. "So… what can you tell me about what the Goblin stole?"
Norman's expression clouded, a heavy sigh escaping him. "What we were set to unveil at the press conference," he explained, gesturing to the wreckage surrounding them. "Our new portable supercomputer. Capable of performing complex calculations in mere seconds. It was poised to revolutionize technology, and it was compact enough to fit on your wrist."
"God," Peter responded, a chill running down his spine. "The power of something like that in the hands of someone like the Goblin…"
"And that's not all," Norman continued, his brow furrowing with concern. "He's been plundering other technologies too…"
"What's his plan?" Peter pressed, urgency lacing his words. "Is there anything else you can tell me?"
"There have been several break-ins at some of our older facilities," Norman admitted, a hint of frustration in his voice. "Not much was taken—just a few remnants from Project Egress."
"Egress?" Peter echoed, his mind racing. "Like a doorway?"
Norman scoffed, his eyes narrowing. "Do you really think KreiTech was the first company to dabble in portal technology?" he asked, incredulity etched on his face. "We scrapped our project when the government pulled the funding. We weren't making any progress anyway."
"Probably for the best," Peter muttered, shaking his head. "The last attempt gave us a crazy octopus lady from another dimension and a vengeful father bent on revenge. But... why does the Goblin want portal technology?"
Meanwhile, amid the debris of a cracked concrete landscape, the Goblin cackled with manic glee. He was surrounded by the twisted remnants of OsCorp technology as he carefully attached the stolen components to a sprawling device resembling a gargantuan gauntlet. It hummed ominously, pulsing with potential energy, though it remained incomplete. His eyes gleamed with a mad ambition, savoring the moment as he envisioned the chaos that awaited the world once his creation was fully functional.
