Chapter 42

Calm Build up

Raditz yells out frantically, "Nappa!"

Nappa managed to roll over but that only made the pain in his back to get worse. Nappa, while fighting back against the pain yelled, "R-raditz, Vegeta…I-I can't move!"

Raditz doesn't waste a second, he flies over to Nappa with Vegeta following him with his arms crossed. They both landed in Nappa's crater where Yamcha looked up at them who could only open half of one eye to stare up at them. Vegeta muttered, "To think he actually lost…"

Vegeta then simultaneously spoke while kicking Yamcha out of the crater, "To this trash."

Yamcha cried out as his body was launched away, landing a few meters from Krillin who cursed, "Damn them, if only I could move."

Krillin attempted to reach for his bag of Senzu Beans, but it was impossible. He couldn't move his arms in the slightest, he felt utterly powerless. Back with Nappa, he reached out a hand to Raditz. Raditz was about to reach out when Vegeta beat him to the punch. Raditz stopped out of surprise, Nappa was shocked too but that didn't stop him from taking Vegeta's hand. Nappa gave him a relieved expression before saying, "T-thanks Vegeta."

Vegeta smiled back and tightened his grip before suddenly tossing him high into the sky above them. Everyone able to, looked on in surprise at the sudden throw. Raditz exclaimed, "What are you doing!"

Vegeta suddenly spoke while grinning sinisterly, "I have no need for a Saiyan who cannot move!"

Vegeta then spoke to Raditz without breaking his line of sight on Nappa, "Don't interfere!"

Raditz yelled again, "Stop, Vegeta!"

Vegeta ignored him, his whole body began to wrap itself in purple lighting and ki causing the ground around him to shake. Raditz cursed before looking up at Nappa who was flying helplessly in the air yelling, "V-vegeta w-what are you doing?"

Raditz's fists clenched for a moment before releasing them. A look of defeat was plastered on his face which is when the image of a tired Nappa appeared in his head. It was a time when Nappa was sparring with him. He remembered some words Nappa gave him, "What are you beat already? I didn't think you were that fragile."

Suddenly Raditz's look of defeat twisted into one of anger. He then yelled, "Like hell I am!"

Raditz disregarded Vegeta's order and flew up into the sky curving around what he assumed was the path Vegeta's attack would make. Vegeta let out an irritated grunt before smirking and muttering, "So be it."

He then fired a massive purple Ki wave launched from his entire body. The beam rocketed towards Nappa meanwhile Raditz had just about reached Nappa, reaching out a hand for him. Nappa did the same but right before they reached each other the Ki Wave collided with them causing an explosion covering the sky in a dust cloud.

The whole battlefield was hit by the shockwave pushing everyone around. Yamcha was dragged off until he was pushed near a mountain which kept him from going farther. Krillin dug his fingers into the ground to keep from being blown away. Chichi crawled over Piccolo's body and dug her feet and fingers into the dirt, keeping his body from being blown away.

Once the shockwaves ended, the sky began to clear up. Vegeta looked up with a grin before his Scouter went off causing him to give a surprised frown. He muttered under his breath, "What!?"

Right then a new voice, one everyone was very familiar with, rang out to him, "I wish I could say this was surprising but it ain't."

A new individual appeared from where Vegeta's blast made contact, being revealed from the dust cloud. Everyone looked up in shock at who they saw, most of all Vegeta. Chichi did her best to yell out, but it came out as barely a whisper, "Kakarot!"

Kakarot floated above them all with a slightly smoking open palm extended in Vegeta's direction while Nappa was being held in Kakarot's other arm, like luggage. Raditz floated a few feet from him, who too seemed to have been saved from the blast thanks to Kakarot's intervention. Whether that was intentional or not, that remains unclear. Kakarot levied a cold stare at Vegeta far below him. The prince crossed his arms and frowned at his former Saiyan ally.

Kakarot's gaze drifted off of Vegeta and towards Raditz. "Brother."

Kakarot gave Raditz a stone-faced greeting which he returned to him with hidden concern in his voice, "Brother…"

Kakarot, without giving Raditz any warning, tossed Nappa towards him. While Raditz didn't quite see this coming, he managed to catch him with both of his arms. Raditz looked back at Kakarot still shocked by his appearance as well as his decision to protect Nappa. He was sure Kakarot would have arrived as an enemy. He wouldn't have thought he would arrive just in time to save Nappa. He doubted Kakarot had time to clearly discern the situation at hand. This was Raditz's first thought but given what Kakarot said to Vegeta, it made it seem like he knew exactly who was attacking who.

His thoughts were interrupted when Kakarot spoke, "Take that oaf elsewhere."

Raditz didn't give him a response, he was too stunned. Instead, he did as he was told and descended towards the ground several meters away from Vegeta. He landed closer to the other humans than Vegeta but not by much. It was a show of who he considered a bigger threat. While he had known Vegeta to threaten him and his brother, even actually making the attempt on Kakarot on Prune… Raditz didn't think Vegeta would apply that mindset to Nappa. He had known him since his childhood and wasn't a Low-Class like Raditz or Kakarot.

Sure, he wasn't royalty, but he was a General of the Saiyan army. Even so, It seems no one was safe from Vegeta regardless of their placement on the Saiyan Hierarchy. Vegeta eyed them as they landed but made no attempt to finish Nappa or Raditz off. Vegeta ignored them regarding them as something not worth his time. Because of this Raditz safely laid Nappa on his stomach being careful with his back. Nappa, in a strained voice muttered in disbelief, "D-did Kakarot just save us?"

Raditz said back while peering at Kakarot still floating in the air, "It appears he did."

Raditz then activated his Scouter and read Kakarot's power level, "Only 4,000…?"

Raditz kept his tone controlled as he questioned Kakarot's suspiciously low power level. He said, "He must be using that Earth technique. A Power Level of 4,000 isn't enough to survive one of Vegeta's attacks."

Raditz then shook his head to himself and muttered, "Regardless of that Kakarot has long passed that level."

Kakarot floated down low enough to get a better look at the battlefield below. He combed the battlefield in order to accurately determine the condition of his allies. He scowled upon seeing Tien's lifeless body, his reaction shifted when he saw Chichi. He immediately darted towards her, moving so fast he disappeared and reappeared just as he landed in front of Chichi.

Chichi flashed him a weak smile after which Kakarot crouched down and looked over her injuries. She was in bad shape, so much so that she couldn't even sit up to greet him. Kakarot gave her a slight smile after finishing her checkup. His smile faltered when Chichi glanced at Piccolo's body. Kakarot followed her gaze and grimaced upon seeing that his friend and rival had already died. He let out a quiet curse before Chichi explained to him what happened. "He sacrificed himself to protect me. He even gave me the Senzu Bean Krillin wanted him to use on himself."

Chichi's frown deepened as she continued, "H-he said it was a favor to you…for being his friend."

Kakarot's grimace deepened as he ran a hand over his face as he took in the loss of his rival. He didn't expect Piccolo would do something like this. He hoped Chichi would make it but he hadn't expected Piccolo would protect her for his sake. Part of Kakarot was happy Piccolo did this but another part of him wanted to yell at Piccolo for getting himself killed. Without Piccolo the Dragon Balls were gone, Tien was dead and Kakarot couldn't feel Chiaotzu anywhere. Not even in the distance which was enough evidence for him to believe he was gone too.

Kakarot then said in a dejected tone, "That means Tien's gone for good."

Chichi added with sadness in her voice, "Chiaotzu's gone too…even if we had the Dragon Balls, he died in the battle with the first Piccolo…so…"

Chichi fell silent, she didn't have the heart to finish. Kakarot scowled at their losses, "Did Vegeta do this?"

Chichi shook her head which fit into what Kakarot was thinking. He knew how powerful Vegeta was, if he had really entered the fight then he's sure the battlefield would be in worse shape. Not to mention he was certain they would have lost more than just two of their own. Chichi then explained, "They died fighting that brute, they both died using all they had."

Kakarot let out a dejected sigh before looking over at Raditz and Nappa. He soon shook his head and stood up after which he looked around for his surviving allies. He decided there wasn't much point in acting against Nappa after saving him. Kakarot admitted to saving him purely based on the respect he owed him as his previous goal but now he wondered if it was really worth it. Kakarot said without looking directly at Chichi, "How many Beans do you have left? You mentioned Piccolo used one on you, y'all must have more, right?"

Chichi immediately answered him, "Yes, we had five before so we should have four left."

Kakarot didn't say anything back, instead he turned to Vegeta, meeting his unflinching gaze. Kakarot spoke in a raised voice while raising a clenched fist toward him, "Vegeta, you wait there fer' a couple minutes and I'll give you the fight of your life!"

Vegeta let out an amused laugh before saying back, "Be my guest, tend to your trash."

After getting his response Kakarot flew to Krillin, surprising him by his speed. Krillin muttered while looking up at Kakarot, "W-wow, incredible!"

Kakarot didn't pay any mind to Krillin's amazement, instead asking, "Chichi said you had four beans left, is that true?"

Krillin hesitated for a moment, not immediately catching what Kakarot asked. After his words sunk in, Krillin quickly said, "Y-yeah, here."

Krillin motioned for his belt after which Kakarot reached under his belt and pulled out a light brown bag. Kakarot immediately took a single bean out.

Kakarot then handed the bean to Krillin who with a pained expression refused. Kakarot gave him a confused look after which Krillin said in a defeated tone, "D-don't waste it on me, I was useless out there."

Kakarot raised an eyebrow at this which signaled for Krillin to elaborate, "Every plan I made fell through. Chopping the big guy's hand off didn't save Tien or Chiaotzu. Piccolo died too, even after I gave him a bean just to be safe."

Kakarot gave him a mildly surprised look before looking over at Nappa who Raditz was still tending to. He muttered in astonishment, "Impressive, if what I felt was accurate, he was several times weaker than Nappa and yet he managed to do that kind of damage?"

Krillin interjected his tone low, "It didn't matter, he still beat Piccolo and nearly killed everyone else. I'm just lucky Yamcha risked his body with the Kaioken. If he hadn't then Chichi would have died right before you got here."

Kakarot looked back down at Krillin with a stern expression, he said, "I'll have to thank 'em for that after you eat this bean."

"B-but…!"

Krillin tried to argue but Kakarot didn't allow it, "You managed to damage someone who was several times stronger than you. I don't know how the whole fight went down but I know a member of the turtle school wouldn't go down easily. How long did you last?"

Krillin paused as he thought over what to say. Eventually he hesitantly said, "I went down a little before Piccolo died, so a few minutes ago."

Kakarot then said, "Good."

Krillin gave him a confused look after which Kakarot said, "That means you bought the time I needed to get here."

Kakarot then gave him a confident smile and said, "Thanks."

Kakarot then fed it to Krillin who still couldn't feed himself thanks to his weakened body. As Krillin chewed and swallowed it Kakarot said, "I need you and the others to keep an eye on the others anyway."

Krillin's wounds healed seconds after swallowing the bean. As he stood up, he looked over at Nappa and Raditz, "From what I saw Vegeta just tried to kill them. I doubt they'll follow his orders, but I can't be certain they won't cause trouble."

Krillin stands up and says, "You should give Yamcha a bean. He's the one who brought that "Nappa" down before he could finish Chichi off. He's in the worst shape out of all of us."

Kakarot gave him a nod and said, "Get with Chichi and keep an eye on those two."

Krillin nodded in response after which both fighters separated. Kakarot flew towards Yamcha and landed next to him. Yamcha's whole body was in bad shape, just as Krillin said. His injuries were clearly the worst of any of his surviving allies. His body was covered in pulsing veins, and it was twitching painfully. His wounds were strange since not all of it looked external. If Kakarot didn't know better, he would say it looked like his body did this to itself. Yamcha only had half an eye open, looking up at him. Kakarot doubted he could even talk in this state, Yamcha thought to himself, "D-damn, I knew the side effects of overusing times 2 would be bad but this pain is more than I expected. If my throat hadn't already been torn up by the Kaioken then I might be screaming my head off right about now."

After determining that Yamcha couldn't possibly feed himself the bean, Kakarot put the bean into Yamcha's mouth. Yamcha barely managed to chew it up and swallow and just like with Krillin, seconds after swallowing his injuries disappeared. Yamcha climbed to his feet but noted his body felt sluggish. It was troubling but expected given how far he pushed his body. Still, he was thankful for the rescue, "Thanks."

Kakarot nodded in response after which Yamcha said, "Before we do anything, I need to know what we're gonna do about those two."

Yamcha glanced at Nappa and Raditz, Yamcha then added, "I put myself through the ringer to take that brute down."

Kakarot said, "I already told Krillin they ain't in the position to cause any trouble. I'm sure my brother won't cause any problems after what Vegeta tried to pull. Nappa on the other hand…"

Kakarot paused for a moment while glancing at Nappa's injuries, "I doubt he'll even be able to sit up without some serious healing."

Yamcha gave what he said some thought before saying back, "What if they do cause trouble…after all of this?"

Kakarot immediately said in reply, "So long as I'm around they won't try anything and not to be cocky but…If I go down, I don't think any of us will live long enough to worry about them."

A grim look comes over both of them, Yamcha scratches the back of his head, "I see your point…I guess I should just be glad I can move around despite everything."

After that short conversation was over Yamcha and Kakarot began to make their way to Chichi who was accompanied by Krillin. However, that's when Kakarot stopped in his tracks with a pained expression painted on his face. Seeing this Yamcha stopped and shot him a worried look. He quickly asked, "What's wrong?"

Kakarot crossed his arms and said after a deep sigh, "Nothing, I just forgot to tell ya' something."

Kakarot locked eyes with him and finally said, "Tien made me promise him to tell you this; You gained my respect when you sacrificed yourself to save Chichi. You were far braver than any warrior I have ever met."

Yamcha's face relaxed as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. He thanked him but wasn't entirely sure why Tien made him promise to say that. They joined back with Chichi and Krillin afterwards. When Kakarot offered the second to last Senzu Bean she pushed it away. He rolled his eyes at her refusal, he already dealt with Krillin being pessimistic. He didn't want to go over it all over again with Chichi, but he figured he didn't have a choice.

Chichi opened similarly to Krillin, "You shouldn't waste it on me, I couldn't do anything to Raditz, and I was dead weight against the big guy."

Kakarot audibly groaned, catching her wide-eyed attention, "I ain't goin' through this again! Because of you and the others I had time to gain the edge I needed against Vegeta."

Krillin then contributed to the conversation, "I felt the same way Chichi, but we did all we could. We gave it our all and, in the end, we bought Kakarot the time he needed."

Chichi understood what he was saying but still doubted her efforts, "I-if I fought harder, prepared better for this day then maybe Piccolo wouldn't have…"

Krillin and Kakarot frowned at her but then Yamcha stepped forward and said, "You want to know if you helped?"

Chichi gave him a reluctant nod, "You helped beat Nappa."

Krillin raised an eyebrow at this, unsure if Yamcha is lying to make her feel better or if their efforts had an unseen effect. Kakarot's eyes widened in intrigue, Yamcha finally said, "You and Piccolo got him pretty good."

Chichi's eyes widened, not completely sure what Yamcha was referring to. The former Desert Bandit then turned his back to her and peered over his shoulder at her. He then pointed his thumb at his upper back and said, "When I dug into his back it had a pretty good effect."

Yamcha then turned to her and said, "You and Piccolo must have gotten him pretty good. In my book, that doesn't count as useless."

Chichi thought back to the combined Ki Wave she and Piccolo nailed him with. After thinking about it for a second she smiled and held her hand out for Kakarot's Senzu Bean. He smiled back and handed it to her after which she ate it, recovering completely. She stood to her feet with a helping hand from Kakarot. They exchanged a smile and soon the whole group got to planning their next move.

Krillin starts the conversation with, "So what's the plan? I know you said Vegeta was dangerous but with all of us back in fighting shape I think we might stand a chance."

Kakarot ended the conversation with, "I'm taking him alone."

Everyone yells, "What?!"

They all looked at him with looks of worry and disagreement. Chichi is the first to say, "You can't, it's too dangerous!"

Krillin added a question, "Before this fight you always urged us to be careful about dealing with Vegeta. What

changed?"

Kakarot immediately said back, "The Divine Water helped me close the gap. Now that I'm on his level I don't need to risk any of you."

Yamcha, agreeing with everyone else, says, "No matter how strong you think you've gotten, fighting him alone is too risky. It takes more than power to win a fight."

Kakarot says back, "I know, I have the edge here."

Kakarot immediately explains as he clenches his fists, "We may be equals but even then, my training and the lessons from my new masters gives me the edge."

Before anyone can say anything back Kakarot lets out a yell as a light blue aura wraps around his body reaching into the sky. The earthlings look at him with astonishment while the ailing Nappa and stunned Raditz gawk at him in shock. Vegeta on the other hand frowns at this display but doesn't let his thoughts color his face.

Raditz fumbles for his Scouter reading Kakarot's Power Level out loud with a dumbfounded face, "A P-power Level o-of 8,000?!"

Nappa mutters, "U-unbelievable!"

Vegeta frowned at this power level but didn't verbalize his feelings on the matter. Raditz then mutters under his breath, "C-could he possibly be holding back?"

The earthlings take a step back, then Kakarot triumphantly says, "I will finally be able to repay all of you for the new strength you and this planet has gifted me."

Kakarot then lays an open palm on his chest and says, "It was my mistake that brought them here. We lost Tien, Chiaotzu and Piccolo thanks to my misplaced trust in my fellow Saiyans."

Kakarot then closed his open hand into a fist, placing it in front of him he said with determination in his voice, "I won't let them kill anyone else."

A confident grin appears on his face as a hint of excitement bleeds into his voice when he says, "I'll put Vegeta down with my own two hands!"

After this Kakarot's aura dissipates and Kakarot's expression loses the excited look he had before, returning to a calmer look.

He then says, "We can't afford to lose anyone else, just let me handle this."

The group grows silent mainly having looks of hesitation however Krillin had a look of deep thought. He finally looked at Kakarot and said, "You shouldn't worry too much about that."

Kakarot raises an eyebrow in response, after which Krillin said, "Vegeta mentioned something about Piccolo's homeworld. I need some time to think on it so… just make sure you beat this guy."

Krillin held his hand out and after a moment of surprise he shook it. Kakarot immediately says, "Right."

Kakarot then looked over at Raditz and said, "First, I'll figure out what they plan to do. If they decide to cause problems, I'll… take care of them. You won't have ta' worry about 'em."

Chichi was about to say something when Krillin shook his head at her. Kakarot gave her an inquisitive look which is when Krillin whispered to her, "Don't worry, I have a plan."

Chichi looked at him uncertain what he could have in mind but nodded and said, "I'm fine, you can go do your thing."

Kakarot nodded and flew off towards his former comrades but while he did this Chichi turned to Krillin wondering what he had in mind. Krillin said, "Kakarot seems…overly excited for this fight. You saw how he talked at the end there, I think this is much more personal for him than he's letting on."

Yamcha added, "This Vegeta guy was, I guess, his direct superior. After what he tried to do to the big guy, I can imagine they didn't exactly get along."

Chichi then added, "Whenever I talked to him about the Saiyans, Vegeta was a topic Kakarot never wanted to talk about. When he got back, he would talk a lot about the Saiyans but whenever Vegeta was mentioned he would suddenly not want to say as much."

Krillin returned the conversation back to the topic at hand, "That's my point, this fight is more than just defending the planet for him. I'm sure it's on his mind but I get the feeling this is something he wants…no…needs to do. We will just jump in if he needs the help. This is the Turtle School's way of fighting anyway, if he needs the help he won't face him alone."

Yamcha nodded in agreement while a look of relief washes over Chichi's expression. Yamcha then commented, "Still, it feels strange hearing him say stuff like that. Defending us and all; I know Bulma kept me up to date on the whole situation down here, but this is all still pretty new to me."

Krillin in a slightly guilty tone, "At first I doubted him but after seeing how hard he trained at Kami's place I can't help but believe he was serious about redeeming himself."

Chichi with an excited tone clearly interested in telling Yamcha this, "It was Kakarot who brought you back, he even worded the wish in such a way that the Dragon revived a lot more people the Saiyans killed."

Yamcha was taken aback, taking half a step backwards. He yelped, "What?!"

After a half second of shock Yamcha straightened his back and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly; he then muttered to himself, "Had I known that I would have given him a better "thanks"."

Kakarot approaches Raditz and Nappa who grew tense, unsure what he was about to do. They knew that he was the reason the both of them were alive but that didn't necessarily mean he was their ally. Raditz stood up to face his brother, wanting to be face to face with his brother seeing how this was their first meeting in a long time. Nappa was stuck on his stomach but did his best to look up at the two brothers.

Raditz took a deep breath before finally looking his brother in the eyes and saying, "It's been a long, brother."

Kakarot stared back at him with an equally tense but stern look, "It has, brother."

Raditz felt his body slightly relax upon hearing Kakarot call him brother. Deep down he was most afraid that Kakarot had begun to view him as a stranger since he had arrived as an enemy. Raditz cleared his thoughts before finally asking, "Why are you here, talking to us, I mean. We were in battle with your subordinates a moment ago. I doubt you have much to say to us."

Kakarot inwardly groans before correcting Raditz, "They ain't my subordinates er' underlings."

Raditz raised an eyebrow at this correction, he glanced down at Kakarot's earth attire. He had assumed by their shared uniform that they were part of the same force. That they were soldiers of some kind. Admittedly Raditz knew that armor was far superior to standard cloth, but he had invaded planets where their military forces used far strange attire for battle attire. What's more Raditz had assumed Kakarot was leading them given he was far stronger than the other earthlings.

In Raditz's book, the leader had to be the strongest among them. That's how things were with Vegeta and the Freeza Empire. It was clear to Raditz that things were not how they seemed. Seeing his confusion Kakarot cleared up the misunderstanding, if only to not have Raditz calling his companions henchmen going forward, "They are martial artists, not soldiers. They train under a mentor to improve themselves…who, you have now killed."

Kakarot gave Nappa a cold side glance causing him to gulp, knowing the reason for the stare. Raditz 'nerves began to shake at this but relaxed somewhat when Kakarot continued. Kakarot placed his thumb on his chest and said, "I'm one of their sibling students, I'm a martial artist now. This Gi is simply what my School of Martial Arts wears for combat."

Raditz didn't have much of a reaction to that beyond being confused on Kakarot's ranking. Where he comes from, power is everything in the hierarchy. For Kakarot to simply be a student like them was strange given how much stronger he is compared to them. Shrugging that off Kakarot let out a heave before saying, "Enough of that, I'm here to figure out what you plan to do."

Kakarot then aimed his thumb over his shoulder, pointed toward Vegeta he noticed the motion and chuckled at the gesture, "You know what he tried to do to the both of ya, I need to know where your allegiance lies."

A look of concentration appears over Raditz's face as he clenches his fists. He thinks on what he should tell his brother, but given Vegeta's recent actions the answer wasn't difficult to decide on. He looked at the ground while saying, "We…no. I chose to stick with Vegeta because I thought it was my best chance at survival. Freeza doesn't care about us, and the rest of the Saiyans are dead. I thought staying with the survivors was my best bet because at least Vegeta was a Saiyan."

A look of defeat appears on his face as he continues, "That was foolish, a part of me wanted to think that he cared for the rest of us, his fellow Saiyans."

Raditz then looked at Kakarot with a sterner expression, "But I'm no fool. I know he only really cared about himself, about his pride as the prince of our species. Where Nappa stuck around out of loyalty and you stuck around to grow stronger, he was different."

Kakarot added to this, "Vegeta has only ever cared about being the strongest "Saiyan". That "Prince" line was just proof to him that he was the strongest of our race and that that was naturally how things should be. He's the "Prince" after all, he was born the strongest "after all"."

He crossed his arms after saying this. Clear disdain was evident in his voice as he continued in a lower tone, "He's never cared about us, we were just people he could lead. To him we were subordinates to use to his advantage against Freeza. If we disappointed him, he would just get rid of us, a weak soldier can't fulfill his ambitions after all."

Kakarot then looked at Nappa and said, "That's all the more clear after he tried to dispose of you. Despite all the loyalty you showed him, he still tried to get rid of you, didn't he?"

Nappa's gaze fell to the ground as a pained expression crossed his face. Raditz's own expression was that of disappointment, with his shoulders slumped, "I know, it's a shock in itself as to why he let you stay alive as long as he did."

Nappa wanted to say something, but nothing came out of his mouth. Instead, he stared at the ground while attempting to clench his fists in irritation. Kakarot's own expression fell for a moment, so fast that Raditz didn't take note of it. Internally Kakarot had thought Vegeta was changing for the better. He knew he was a bastard and that he tried to kill him on Prune, but Kakarot also noted Vegeta's leniency with him to be strange for him. Vegeta tried to kill Nappa just now for losing against his allies.

Kakarot on the other hand had been reduced to nearly a corpse on multiple occasions but Vegeta would more often than not send him away to get healing. Kakarot had hoped that some part of Vegeta cared about his fellow man but with what happened with Nappa, clearly, he was mistaken.

Nappa muttered to himself, "I…I-I don't know…I-"

Kakarot cut him off, "Ya don't need ta tell me now. I just want to make it clear while you wait and figure that out, the humans are off limits."

Kakarot's tone became more threatening, emphasizing the danger of disobeying him, "You ain't ta' harm anyone else on this planet, understand?"

Color drained from the two Saiyans' faces as they quickly nodded in agreement, understanding Kakarot's intentions. When Kakarot turned to leave Raditz was shocked by what he saw. "W-wait brother, what happened to your tail?!"

Kakarot immediately turned around, initially confused by the question but only a half second later his expression relaxed. "I had it permanently sometime after landing on this planet."

Raditz's face twisted in worry as he blurted out, "Y-you had it removed? You're telling me you are about to fight Vegeta with a handicap?!"

Kakarot frowned in annoyance and said, "I won't be using that form ever again. I don't need Saiyan power like that, I'll rely on my own earned power."

His expression slightly softened as he continued, "Besides that form will cause more harm than good here."

Kakarot didn't give Raditz or Nappa time to come up with a response to that statement. Kakarot turned around and approached Vegeta who arrogantly smirked at his former subordinate. "Oh? Are you ready now? You don't feel like giving your new "friends" your last goodbye?"

Kakarot scoffed and said back, "This won't be my last goodbye and unlike me, you'll have no one hoping for your victory."

Vegeta nonchalantly chuckled and said, "Is that so?"

He then let out a short laugh and shrugged before unfolding his arms and clenching his fists and then slightly leaning forward before saying, "Shall we begin?"

Kakarot stretched an open palm forward to Vegeta who's posture falters as he looks at Kakarot confused. Kakarot says, "No, we'll fight elsewhere. This battlefield feels…used. I have a location in mind."

Vegeta frowns. let's out a heave, stands up straight and then picks up his Scouter, putting it on. He then crosses his arms and says, "So be it, lead the way."

Right after both Saiyan warriors fly straight up into the sky and then shoot towards a new direction getting farther and farther until they are no longer in sight.

The Earthlings looked on in worry while Raditz stared off unsure how this would all ends.

Author's Notes: Alright, it's finally finished. This took MUCH longer than I wanted it to but with writer's block and the fact it was Christmas when I really started writing it, it was delayed far longer than I wanted it to. I also wanted to reach the Vegeta fight, but all the talking portions stretched out how long it would be. I should be able to get through the next chapter much faster but given what happened with this one...no promises but I will be working on it. The review question how Shenron (Shenlong) could grant a wish expanding to outer space since it's a set made on Earth. Questioning how they were able to revive the people on Prune.
To be honesty, I didn't find any information that said they were restricted to only effecting Earth. The only reason they couldn't affect the Saiyans on their way to earth is because the Saiyans power was greater than Kami's, the creator of that set. I hope that answers your question.
