Skye was sitting at her desk doing school work with her door opened a couple of days later. It was having the door open and she could work in her room or she had to work at the kitchen table where someone could keep an eye on her making sure she wasn't using her computer for anything outside of school work. A full check had been done on all the electronics in the compound and nothing was found so they were no closer to finding out what was known and who was responsible.
She was having a hard time focusing on her work, with the noise from outside her room that would normally be blocked by the door being shut.
Tony walked by her room and noticed her tapping on her desk looking frustrated. "Need help?"
"I'm just having trouble focusing," Skye said looking up at him.
"Would putting on headphones with music help?" Tony asked
"I feel like that would be using my computer for something other than school work," Skye said.
"You know if you tell them why you acted the way you did they might give you some leniency," Tony said.
"You say that like you know why I did it," Skye said.
"No, but I'm guessing whatever it is, is a valid reason for you to have been so upset that you would talk to him like that," Tony said. "I know you, Skye, you don't talk to any adult you respect like that. I accused you of something you didn't do, I told you to shut up when you tried to explain that to me and you didn't talk to me like that."
"Well, you threatened to take away my lab access," Skye said
"And Bucky told you he would take away your phone for longer if you didn't give it up willingly," Tony said. "Your phone is always in your hand. I know it's important to you too."
Skye shrugged.
"No one can make you talk about it Skye but you won't be able to focus with this door opened or in the kitchen," Tony said.
"I'm not telling anyone anything so I guess I just won't be able to get schoolwork done in the next month," Skye said.
"You know that is not an option," Tony said.
"Well, I don't know what else to do. Because I'm not talking," Skye said.
Tony nodded and went to find Steve, speaking to him before going back to Skye. "Hey. Grab what you need to do your schoolwork. I need to work in the lab anyway, and your dad said you can work in there as long as I'm in there watching you."
Skye smiled andgrabbed her stuff going with him. Tony got her set up at a desk and she did her work while he tinkered with some things for a suit he was fixing. She was able to get everything she needed done for that week in just a few hours.
When she was done she looked up at Tony. "If I tell you will you go and tell my dad or Bucky?"
Tony looked up at her and thought about it. "I want to say no. But I kind of need to know what it is first."
Skye nodded a little.
"Skye, I want to help you. But I have to think about it if it was Morgan and she told your dad or Bucky something that I needed to know," Tony said.
Skye nodded again.
"How about you tell me, and if they need to know I help you tell them?" Tony suggested. "And if they don't need to know we can keep it between us."
Skye let out a breath, "you are going to think they need to know."
Tony nodded.
"I don't want them to know," Skye said.
"I understand that," Tony said.
"What are you working on exactly?" Skye asked changing the subject.
"You're done withyour schoolwork?" Tony asked.
"Yes," Skye said.
"Come over here I'll show you," Tony said.
Skye went over and Tony let her help with the suit he was working on. They kept working until he got a text saying dinner was ready.
Skye sighed she was having fun.
Tony chuckled, "That's how I feel sometimes too but we both know what will happen if we don't go up there for dinner."
Skye chuckled and grabbed her stuff before going upstairs with Tony. She put her stuff in her room before she went and sat at the table with everyone else for dinner.
"You get your schoolwork done?" Steve asked.
"Got everything I needed to done for the week," Skye said.
"Good," Steve said.
"She also helped me with the suit I'm working on. Your kid is smarter than she gives herself credit for," Tony said.
Steve smiled, "that much I know."
Skye shrugged.
"It comes from your grandmother's genetics. She was very smart," Steve said.
Skye smiled.
After dinner, Steve looked at Skye. "Bucky and I have something to talk to you about."
"Okay," Skye said slowly.
"Nothing bad, you're not in trouble," Bucky said.
The three went to Skye's bedroom
Skye sat on her bed crossing her legs in front of her.
Steve and Bucky sat on either side of the end of her bed and looked at her.
"This does not leave this room until Bucky and I are ready," Steve said.
"Okay," Skye said.
"Bucky and I want to expand our family. Give you a younger sibling,"
Skye smiled. "That's great, adopting?"
"No," Bucky said.
"We have asked someone to be our surrogate," Steve said.
"Someone we know?" Skye asked
"Yes," Steve said. "Because of who we are we wanted to make sure it was someone we can trust."
"Well, who is it?" Skye asked
"Carol," Steve said. "We have asked and she has agreed."
Skye hugged them both.
They both hugged her.
"That's great. I'm happy for the both of you," Skye said.
"You ready to be a big sister?" Steve asked.
Skye nodded smiling a little, "Does anyone else know?"
"Us and Carol," Steve said.
Skye nodded a little and looked at Bucky.
"What?" Bucky said.
Skye shook her head.
"Skye, what is it?" Steve asked confused.
"He told someone else. I know I overheard him talking about it," Skye said.
Steve looked at Bucky.
"When?" Bucky asked.
"The same day we went to the other universe. That night," Skye said
"I spoke to Carol about it," Bucky said. "It was pretty late. I didn't think anyone else was up."
"I didn't really get a good look at who it was you were talking to," Skye said
"Skye, why didn't you say something?" Steve asked.
"You hadn't told me yet, wasn't my business yet," Skye said. "Don't worry I didn't tell anyone."
"I wasn't worried about that," Steve said.
"Is this why you were upset with me?" Bucky asked.
"Why would I be upset with you and not him too if that was the case?" Skye asked.
"I don't know Skye," Bucky said. "I am sorry that's how you found out. I should have been more careful about talking about it around here."
"It's okay," Skye said. "I shouldn't have stuck around and listened to twenty minutes of conversation."
Bucky chuckled, "Probably not."
Steve smiled and shook his head, "hear anything else you should tell us?"
"Don't think so," Skye said.
"You do like Carol right?" Steve asked.
"Duh! She is so cool," Skye said.
Bucky and Steve chuckled.
"I don't have any issues with this, Bucky deserves to have a kid too," Skye said.
Bucky tilted his head, "A second kid, same as your dad."
"Right. Well, I meant biological," Skye said.
"It doesn't matter to either of us who the biological parent is," Bucky said.
"There is something the doctors can do so we won't know who the biological father is, we are doing that," Steve said.
Skye nodded a little.
"Skye, do you worry I will treat you differently if I have a biological kid? Is that why you were so upset?" Bucky asked.
"I told you it has nothing to do with that conversation," Skye said.
"But you're lying," Bucky said.
Skye got up and went to walk away but Bucky took her arm and gently pulled her to stand in front of him. "Kid. Tell me what it is. Now."
Skye shook her head as her eyes filled with tears.
Bucky looked at Steve.
"Skye, what could he have possibly said that is still hurting you so much?" Steve asked with great concern.
Skye swallowed as a few tears fell, "he said he was looking forward to a kid calling him dad, and I guess it was Carol, she asked him if I didn't call him dad and Bucky said he didn't want me to call him dad."
Steve looked at Bucky.
"That is not what I said," Bucky said reaching up and wiping away the tears that had fallen on her cheek "I said you wouldn't ever call me dad. And that's because I thought that you didn't want to. I would never expect you to call me Dad. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be okay with it."
"I asked you when you told me you were going to propose if I should start calling you dad now too," Skye said. "You called me a smart ass."
"Skye. I thought you meant that as a joke," Bucky said. "You were smirking when you asked me that."
Skye nodded a little.
"I am so sorry you misunderstood," Bucky said pulling her into a hug.
Skye buried her face in his shoulder and sobbed.
"I did tell you she would call you dad if she thought you'd be okay with it," Steve said.
"Yeah but I really didn't think she wanted to," Bucky said.
"How many times have I referred to you as my parent?" Skye asked as she pulled away having calmed down some.
"Okay, that's fair. It seems we both misunderstood things," Bucky said.
Skye nodded a little.
"Skye, I would be honored if you called me dad or anything like that," Bucky said looking her in the eyes.
"You're sure?" Skye asked.
"Yes," Bucky said. "I'm as sure of that as I was sure if I didn't marry him I'd regret it."
Skye smiled and hugged him tight.
Bucky hugged her tight.
"Will it get confusing if I call you both Dad?" Skye asked.
"We will figure it out," Bucky said.
"You okay with Papa or pops or something like that?" Skye asked.
Bucky smiled and squeezed her a little tighter, "that works too."
After they broke the hug Bucky made sure she was looking at him. "You talk to me when I upset you like this next time. Okay?"
"Okay Papa," Skye said softly.
"Given why she was upset I think we can give her, her phone and such back, after the week," Bucky said looking at Steve.
Steve chuckled, "She calls you Papa and you go soft."
Bucky chuckled "Do you disagree?"
"I don't disagree, after the week you can have your stuff back," Steve said.
Skye hugged her dad. "I'm sorry I didn't just talk to you."
"It's okay. Next time though I expect you to talk to us. Upfront," Steve said as he hugged her.
"Understood," Skye said. "Tucker's variant is still here right?"
"He is, he isn't saying anything though," Steve said.
"Have America or Dr. Strange been able to figure out how he got here?" Skye asked.
"I don't know, they have not come back yet," Steve said.
"Oh," Skye said.
"I'm sure they are fine," Steve said. "Just caught up trying to figure things out."
"Maybe the variant would talk to me?" Skye suggested.
"I'll think about it," Steve said.
"Okay," Skye said.
The next day Skye was in the library reading when Bucky came into the room.
"Hey, Skye you can go talk to the variant," Bucky said.
Skye looked up at him, "Dad is okay with it too?"
"Yes, your dad and I talked to a few of the others. It was agreed you might be the best chance," Bucky said.
Skye put a bookmark in her book and got up and left the library Bucky followed behind.
"Someone going to be in the room with us?" Skye asked.
"No," Bucky said. "But I will be right outside the room, with your dad. So if there is a problem we can come in and help."
"That's reasonable," Skye said.
They got down to the room where Steve was already waiting with Tony.
"So you're abilities will not work in this room either. You have trained so you should be stronger than the average person without abilities but take things slow. If there is a problem shout and we will be in," Steve said.
"Okay," Skye said.
"Go ahead," Steve said.
Skye took a breath before Bucky punched in the code for the door and it was opened and Skye went in. In the room, there was a bed and chair and not much else.
Tucker looked at her and tilted his head.
"I'm not your Skye," Skye said as she sat in the chair.
"You would have gotten more out of me if you lied," Tucker's variant said.
"Maybe, but if I lied and told you I was your Skye and you found out I was lying I feel like you would tell me even less," Skye said as she heard the door lock behind her.
"They are letting you in here with me alone?" he asked.
"Yes," Skye said. "It's not like you have your abilities in here any more than I do."
He nodded a little.
"You expecting your Skye to come help you?" Skye asked.
"In time she will," he said.
"You know she has been captured right? She is with her dad, in a room similar to this one in your world," Skye said.
Tucker's mouth dropped open, "no she is fucking not."
"Why would I lie about that?" Skye asked.
"To get me to talk," he said.
"Fair assumption I suppose," Skye said. "But no it's the truth. I know, I helped her dad get her there. After you booked it from the room you had me trapped in."
Tucker's variant narrowed his eyes.
"If she's not locked up why hasn't she come to get you?" Skye asked.
He didn't say anything.
"You know I'm right. So you can work with me. And the others around here and we can figure out how to help you," Skye said.
"I'm not going to go to your side of things," he said.
"Why did you decide to work for Hydra in your world?" Skye asked.
He didn't say anything.
"She asked you to right?" Skye asked.
"You think I can't make my own choices?" he asked.
"No, I think you are very capable of making your own decisions. But I think she got you the super serum somehow and part of the deal was you work with Hydra if she did," Skye said
"She didn't get me the super serum," Tucker said.
"Your abilities come from where then?" Skye asked.
"It is the super serum. But it wasn't Hydra that gave me the serum," Tucker's variant said
"Oh, who was it?" Skye asked.
"Why does it matter?" he asked.
"I'm curious," Skye said.
"Well curiosity killed the cat," he said.
Skye smirked, "Yeah if something kills me it will be my nosiness."
He shook his head, "You and my Skye both. Drive your Tucker mad the way it does me?"
Skye laughed, "Yes."
"Why did you come here and tell him I was dead?" Skye asked
"I thought you had brought my Skye here and I thought the only way I was going to find her is if you were all distracted and that was a way I thought to distract you all," he said.
"You realize that just drew attention to you being here. . . right?" Skye asked.
He let out an annoyed breath. "I did not think it through. Clearly."
"Was it your idea or?" Skye asked.
"Victoria's," he said. "Wanted me to come get her daughter back. Told me to do that."
"I never got to know my mother in this universe, is she stupid or did she set you up?" Skye asked.
He snorted. "She's not stupid."
"So she set you up," Skye said.
He shrugged,
"Why would she do that?" Skye asked. "You are on her side."
Tucker's variant rolled his eyes.
"She doesn't like you," Skye said.
"No she does not," he said.
"Yikes, why not?" Skye asked
"Why should I tell you?" he asked.
"You've got no one else to talk to, and we can hate on her together," Skye said.
"What did your mother do to you in this universe?" He asked.
"Picked Hydra over me," Skye said. "After putting me in foster care when I was a baby and I'm sure based on things I have found out that she knew where I was and the hell I was in."
He nodded.
"That's how my Tucker and I met, we were in a foster home together," she said.
"Ah," he said.
"How did you meet your Skye in your universe?" Skye asked
"We were kids at the same school," he said.
"How old were you when you got the serum?" Skye asked
"Ten," he said.
"Wow, who would do that to a child?" Skye asked.
He let out a breath.
"No one on the good side. Right?" Skye asked.
He shrugged.
"Tucker, please. Tell me. Think about your Skye, if she is in more danger there than with Hydra that is a problem," Skye said.
"It wasn't someone on the good side. Exactly," He said. "Wasn't her dad."
Skye nodded a little.
"Someone who works both sides," he said.
"I need a name," Skye said. She had a feeling but she didn't want to be wrong and if it wasn't him she didn't want to give up the fact that he worked both sides.
"Dr. Strange," he said. "But you figured that out already."
"I just needed to be sure," Skye said.
He nodded.
"You're not fucking with me right?" Skye asked.
"You know and trust him for some reason?" He asked.
"I got hit with Loki's knife a few months ago. I was dying. No one here knew what to do. You're Dr. Strange found out and came to help," Skye said.
"Is that what Loki came back to grab? The medicine," he asked.
"Yeah, and when it was discovered it's why Dr. Strange came," Skye said. "Oh shit," Skye got up and knocked on the door and it was opened Skye left the room and the door was closed behind her. "Bruce's lab was properly checked, right? For bugs?"
"I believe so," Steve said "Why?"
"Dr. Strange from that universe might have been the one to plant something," Skye said.
"Why do you think that?" Steve asked.
"He might be more on Hydra's side than he was saying. The variant said it was Dr. Strange who gave him the serum. When he was ten!" Skye said.
"Okay, let's go talk to Happy and Tony," Steve said as he led her upstairs to Tony's office. Bucky followed
"What is going on?" Happy asked when he came into the room.
"Dr Banner's lab was properly checked, right? For listening devices right?" Skye asked.
"Yes," Happy said. "Of course."
"Why?" Tony asked.
"Tucker's variant told me that Dr. Strange was the one who gave him the super serum when he was ten. He knew he works both sides," Skye said.
"Skye he was here a while ago. Maybe checks have been done since then. And tech like that, that can share information between worlds. I don't know Skye," Tony said.
"What if they have some sort of advanced tech we don't have yet?" Skye asked
"I will run another check," Happy said.
"You ask Tucker. The variant. See if he knows about anything like that," Tony said.
Skye nodded.
"You building a good rapport with him?" Tony asked.
"I think so. Unless he is just lying to me," Skye said.
"That's always possible," Tony said.
"You feel up to talking to him again?" Bucky asked
"Yes," Skye said.
The three went back down and Skye went into the room again.
"What the fuck did I say that had you running out of here?" he asked.
"Do you know anything about Dr. Strange possibly planting a listening device in this universe that could be heard in your universe?" Skye asked.
"I might," Tucker's variant said slowly.
"What do you want?" Skye asked.
"To get out of here," he said
"If you are let out, we get you back to your world. What will you do?" Skye asked
"Get my Skye out," he said.
"I want you to think about the fact that Hydra sent you here. Telling you to do something that could have gotten you killed, and did get you locked up in here. Are you sure Hydra is the side you want to be on?" Skye asked
He let out a breath.
"I don't have anywhere else to go," he said.
"You could switch to the other side. Help them convince your Skye," Skye said. "If you tell us everything you know I can put in a good word for you with Steve on that side."
He shook his head, "Dr. Strange was on their side when he gave me the serum."
"He works both sides. He could have lied to you. Could have been on Hydra's orders," Skye said.
Tucker said nothing else.
"What's your favorite food?" Skye asked.
"Pizza," he said.
Skye tilted her head, "with broccoli?" she asked
"How the fuck do you know that?" he asked
Skye laughed, "Wow, you share that like with your variant in this world."
"Seriously? That's weird," he said.
"No weirder than liking broccoli on pizza," she said smirking.
"Your favorite weird too?" he asked.
"Depends who you ask," Skye said.
"Pineapple?" he asked.
"And ham," she said.
"Same as my Skye," Tucker's variant said
"Wow, to think we are so different but the same," Skye said.
He nodded.
"Why don't you start by telling me about a possible listening device and how to find it we can start with getting you the best broccoli pizza around," Skye said.
"One of the things that I had on my person. Your people took from me. Looks like a rock. It's a piece of tech. It can be opened and used to find any listening devices it will beep as you get closer to any devices," he said.
"How exactly does it open?" Skye asked.
"It's two pieces that fit together to make it look like one rock. You just have to pull on either side. Do you guys have USB sticks? It's kinda like that to open. Just better concealed," he said.
"Okay," Skye said getting up and knocking on the door.
Bucky opened it and Skye went out and the door was closed.
"Where is the stuff he had on him?" Skye asked
"What do you need?" Bucky asked.
"I want to see his stuff," Skye said.
Steve opened up a locked room next door to the containment room and pointed to a bin on a table in the room.
Skye went over to in and started to look through his stuff. She found the little rock-looking thing he talked about. And also a picture of him with a little girl.
"Did you look at this stuff?" Skye asked.
"No, Tony did," Steve said.
Skye held up the picture. "That kid looks like him."
"Could be a sibling," Steve said knowing where her mind was going.
"They share the same favorite pizza topping," Skye said
"That could be a coincidence," Steve said.
"Broccoli," Skye said.
"Okay, maybe not," Steve said chuckling a little.
Skye pulled on either side of the rock and opened it.
"What is that?" Steve asked.
"Give this to Happy, tell him to take it to Bruce's lab please," Skye said. It should beep if there is a listening device in there."
Steve took it from her.
"Can I give him this picture?" Skye asked.
"I don't see why not," Steve said.
"And can you arrange for a large pizza with broccoli on it from our favorite place please?" Skye asked.
"That I can do," Steve said.
Skye went back to the room and Bucky let her in and Skye held up the photo.
"Is she why you don't want to turn on Hydra?" Skye asked.
"Who do you think she is?" Tucker's variant asked.
"Your daughter," Skye said.
"In this world too?" He asked
"Is she why Victoria doesn't like you?" Skye asked.
"Part of the reason I'm sure," he said.
Skye said as she handed him the picture.
"Thank you," he said.
"You are raising her?" Skye asked.
"I am," he said. "With the mother."
"Does she know you work for Hydra?" Skye said.
"Wait, in this world are you not the mother?" He asked
"Shit, no," Skye said surprised. "You got your Skye pregnant? No wonder her mother hates you."
He shrugged.
"Wait, if you're here and Skye's locked up there. Who has the kid?" Skye asked.
"Best guess, Victoria," he said.
"Does Steve know she had a kid?" Skye asked.
"I don't think so," he said.
"Oh my god. Okay," Skye said.
"You're not getting her out of there," he said.
"That little girl does not deserve to grow up with those people," she said.
"I don't disagree," he said.
"Is she why Skye won't turn?" Skye asked.
"Yes," Tucker's variant said his voice cracking.
"For fuck sake, if we can get her out and safe?" Skye asked
"I will tell you everything," he said.
Skye left the room and looked at Bucky and told him they needed to go upstairs and talk to everyone.
Bucky went with her and she told everyone else everything she knew.
"How sure are you that this is real?" Tony asked.
"I believe him," Skye said.
"Why?" Tony asked.
Skye took a breath and looked at her dad. "You never told him?"
"No, that's up to you or Tucker to tell people," Steve said.
"The big secret that I found out in court. Tucker has a kid. Not with me obviously but yeah," Skye said.
"How did we not know this?" Wanda asked.
"He and the mother gave her up for adoption. He is involved in her life to a degree. But he is not the one raising her," Skye said.
Wanda nodded.
"Maybe I can go to the other world. Pretending to be their Skye?" Skye suggested.
"Absolutely not," Steve and Bucky said at the same time.
There were chuckles from a few people.
"I guess that is the downside to having two dads," Skye said with a smirk.
"You're not going, end of discussion," Steve said.
Skye looked at Tony.
"No, don't look at Tony for help. I'm your dad and I make the final decision and the answer is no," Steve said.
"For the record Steve. I agree with you," Tony said.
"Seriously?" Skye asked Tony. "You two argued about my involvement in going there in the first place."
"The difference being is we were going in as a team. Not sending you in alone trying to pretend to be their Skye," Tony said.
"We need to get that kid out of there," Skye said.
"I don't disagree," Tony said. "But there has to be a better way."
"What if I go with her? Make it seem like I got their Skye out of lockdown and am back to work with them," Loki said.
"I do not like that idea," Thor said.
"I know we are both young. But at some point you will need to let us do things on our own," Skye said.
"We can let your variants on that side know what is going on and they can be back up if we need it?" Loki suggested.
"No," Steve. "Not happening. End. Of. Discussion."
Skye let out a breath.
"We went in there as a team and you still almost got left behind when we couldn't tell you apart from your variant," Bucky said.
"So you are going to leave that girl there. Because the only people who are going to be able to get that girl out are in lockdown here and in that universe. So the only option would be to send in people who look like them. And since our Tucker doesn't have abilities that leaves me," Skye said. "And I can understand needing backup. So Loki makes sense."
"And when they ask you to prove you are their Skye?" Nat asked.
"I agree we will have to figure something out for that," Skye said.
"Well the fact that they have a kid isn't known," Loki said.
"And Tucker's variant could probably tell us something else," Skye said.
"You think they don't know he is here. It would have to be something only their Skye would know," Nat said.
"I don't care what we can figure out. She is not going," Steve said.
Skye took a breath, "Can I talk to my dads alone please?"
Everyone else left the room.
"Look. I understand your worry. I get why you think there is a risk. And there is. I'm not denying that. But you, Dad. Told me when we were at Xavier's school for the gifted that I get to choose how to use my abilities," Skye said.
"You do, but that doesn't mean you get to be careless and put yourself at risk without proper backup," Steve said.
"He's right," Bucky said.
"Who do I need to bring for it to be considered proper backup?" Skye asked
"An adult," Steve said.
"We can't bring an adult in from here. Not unless its someone who variant works on the other side there and can prove they are them," Skye said.
"Then you are not going," Steve said.
Skye took a breath, "that is bullshit."
"Watch the language," Steve said.
Skye got up and left the room annoyed and went to her room.
Loki knocked on her door.
"Who is it?" Skye asked.
"Loki," he said.
"Come in," Skye said.
Loki went in, "If we can find a way in I will go with you even if it's behind their backs."
"Part of me wants to do that. But we can't. We need them to know we are there. If something goes wrong they need to know," Skye said
"Unfortunately I see your point," Loki said.
Skye chuckled. "And how would we get in? America is in that universe at the moment. And we do not know how Tucker got here. Or you got here in the first place."
Loki nodded.
"You don't right? Skye asked.
Loki shrugged.
After a minute she got up and went back to the conference room where everyone else was.
"What if we go in? With an adult of your choosing. We tell that universe's Steve about his grandchild and see what he says?" Skye asked
"Okay, that seems more reasonable," Steve said.
"We can also find American and our Dr. Strange maybe," Skye said.
"Maybe, but how would we get to that world without America or Dr. Strange?" Steve asked.
"Wong can multiverse travel I think," Skye said.
"Yeah, he can," Tony said.
"I can go with them," Wanda said. "My variant is on the other side too. If we need someone to go in and get the girl I might be able to."
"Yeah, you're not allowed to go in to get the girl alone either," Steve said.
"Okay, but I could go with Skye and Loki," Wanda said.
"Go find out what you can that your variant would know," Steve told Skye.
Skye went and went into the room, she had learned the code at this point.
"What is something that you can think of that only your Skye would know," Skye said.
"Are you going in to get my kid?" Tucker's variant asked
"Maybe," Skye said. "I need something that I can use to trick them into thinking I'm their Skye."
"I don't know anything. I can't think of anything. Skye has secrets of course. And I know them, but I don't think Victoria even knows any secrets of her," Tucker's variant said. "She doesn't trust her mother."
"When did she stop trusting her? Or did she never?" Skye asked.
"She stopped trusting her when Victoria threatened our kid if we tried to leave," he said.
"So getting your kid out is going to be harder than making them think I'm your Skye," Skye said.
"Possibly," he said. "I could get in," he said. "I can prove I'm me because I have abilities."
"Yeah. There is no way I could get the people upstairs to agree to let you out and bring you back there," Skye said.
"Yeah. I figured," he said.
"Maybe I can get your Skye to trust me if you tell me something?" Skye suggested.
"No, not a chance," he said.
"Why?" Skye asked.
"You trust Loki," he said.
"What happened there?" Skye asked.
Tucker shook his head.
"Come on, if there is a legit reason not to trust him now is the time to tell me," Skye said.
"He defended his brother," Variant Tucker said.
"Okay," she said slowly.
"He was not a good guy, he worked for the other side yes. But he was not a good guy," he said.
"How?" Skye asked.
He shook his head.
"Look, I can not help if I don't know what happened," Skye said.
"He hurt Skye," he said.
"How?" Skye asked.
He let out a breath and gave her a knowing look
"Shit, he raped her?" Skye asked.
Tucker's variant nodded.
"Loki knew?" Skye asked.
"Skye told him," Variant Tucker said. "Skye liked Loki. I was worried for a while that I would lose her to him. And then she told him what his brother did, which caused a huge rift because he didn't believe her."
"Is that why he was killed?" Skye asked.
"Not the only reason. But it was a reason for Skye's anger towards him," he said.
"If that's true. It is a valid reason," Skye said.
"It is true, I saw it happen, and I couldn't stop it," he said. "Not from lack of trying either."
"I'm so sorry," Skye said.
He nodded.
"What other reasons were for him being killed?" Skye asked.
"He started to think he was untouchable. He knew he got away with hurting Skye, so he thought he could keep getting away with things, both sides were having issues with him," variant Tucker said. "I don't think Loki knows this. But both sides worked together. Hydra wanted him dead, the other side wanted him contained. Hydra got to him first and killed him."
Skye nodded a little.
They were quiet for a couple of minutes.
"There is proof he did it. Thor admitted it. He didn't know it was recorded. Loki heard the recording," Tucker's variant said.
"If I tell your Skye I know this stuff and believe her. Would that be enough?" Skye asked.
"Maybe," he said.
"I'm guessing if Loki were to come with me it would be a no?" Skye asked.
"Yeah. If he goes with you there is nothing you can say that would get her to trust you," he said.
"Okay," Skye said. "You're sure he heard the recording?"
"Yes. I was there," Tucker's variant said.
Skye let out a breath and nodded.
She asked him a few more questions to make sure she had everything she needed before she left the room, and went upstairs. She called everyone back to the conference room.
"What did you find out?" Tony asked.
"I might be able to get their Skye to trust me if I can. She might be willing to go in and get the girl out and switch sides," Skye said.
"Okay," Steve said slowly.
"I can bring an adult. I don't mind that. But Loki is out," Skye said.
"Why?" Loki asked.
Skye looked at him "Did you really think it would never come out?"
Loki let out a breath, "he is lying"
"So there is no recording? That you heard?" Skye asked
"They fucked with something and made it sound like him, he wouldn't do that," Loki said angrily
"Why did both sides have issues with him then?" Skye asked
Loki let out a low growl.
"I understand he was your brother. I understand you don't want to believe he could do something like that, but he did and you know it," Skye said. "You are not coming."
Loki got up and left the room slamming the door.
"Um. I don't think he should be alone right now. His hurt is valid," Skye said.
Thor got up and left the room to go with him.
Everyone else looked at Skye.
"Care to explain?" Tony asked.
Skye shook her head. "Just if everything I was told is true. And I do believe it. Thor in that world being killed. Not completely unfair. I guess both sides wanted him out of the way. Hydra wanted him dead, the good side wanted him contained. Hydra got to him first,"
"I can go with her," Wanda said.
"Alright," Steve said.
"Wong will be here shortly," Tony said.
Skye nodded.
"Are you okay?" Bucky asked her.
"I don't know," Skye said.
"You're sure you're up to this?" Steve asked.
"Yes," Skye said. "I know it's a crazy ask. But bringing Tucker's variant back there could also help."
"No," Steve said. "We're keeping him until we are sure things are as they seem."
Skye nodded as Wong came into the room.
"Okay, you two stick together," Steve said.
"Of course," Wanda said.
Steve looked at Skye with a raised eyebrow when she didn't answer.
"Yeah, yeah. I will stay with Wanda," Skye said.
"That sounds convincing," Bucky said sarcastically
"I will make sure she stays with me," Wanda assured them.
"Thank you," Steve said.
Wong opened a portal and they all went through.
