When they got there they went to where they knew that theuniverse's good guys had a hideout and were let in when they were recognized as the good guys.

"What are you doing here?" Variant Steve asked.

"Um, your Dr. Strange is he here?" Skye asked.

"No not at the moment, I can get him here," Steve's variant said.

"No, it's better he isn't. He might be more on Hydra's side than yours," Skye said.

"Okay, didn't he come and give information to help you?" Variant Steve asked confused.

"He might have done that to plant a listening device in Dr. Banner's lab. For Hydra," Skye said.

Variant Steve sighed. "Okay. Is that what you came here to make sure we knew?"

"That and your Skye's boyfriend came to our world and we have him locked up, he has revealed something that makes us understand why he and your Skye would work with Hydra," Skye said.

"Okay," variant Steve said slowly.

"And if we can fix that situation I think they will both switch to the good side," Skye said. "Have you had any luck getting her to agree to switch to your side?"

"No, she won't even look at me," variant Steve said. "All she has been saying is she needs to get out here. She needs to go back home."

"If I can get your Skye to trust me and trust that we want to help her. Maybe she will be willing to work with the good side," Skye said.

"What do you think you could tell her that would get her to trust you?" Steve's variant asked

"Um. Well, there are a couple of things but d- do you know about the issues she had with Thor?" Skye asked

"We all had issues with Thor he. . . started to act all untouchable. We wanted him contained but Hydra got to him first," variant Steve said.

"I was told that too yeah," Skye said.

"My Skye had personal issues with him?" Variant Steve asked

Skye took a breath, "I think. It would be better if she told you."

Variant Steve nodded.

"Can you take me to talk to her?" Skye asked.

Variant Steve nodded and led her and Wanda that way.

When they got to the glass-encased room they could see the other Skye and she looked angry.

"Wanda it might be better if you stay out of the room," Skye said. "You can see everything happening and it's not like she can do anything to me."

"If you get hurt your father will kill me," Wanda said.

"I'll be fine," Skye said.

"Fine," Wanda said.

Variant Steve punched in the code. "I will be on this side too if something goes wrong."

"Okay, but if you have a way to listen into the room please don't," Skye said.

"Okay," Steve's variant said.

Skye went in.

"They really think you are going to get anything out of me?" Skye's variant asked.

"More like maybe I think I can," Skye said.

"Oh?" Skye's variant asked.

"I know about Kara," Skye said softly.

Variant Skye's face went white.

"I want to help you get her out," Skye said quickly.

"How do you know about her?" She asked panicked.

"Your Tucker was sent to our world by your mother and he is currently being held by us. He is safe. But he told me why you two feel like you have to work for Hydra," Skye said.

"I can't believe he told you," variant Skye said.

"Well to be fair, I figured it out. I was looking through his stuff and saw a picture of him with a little girl. And I know my Tucker has a kid and I wondered if it was the same. The difference is in my world the kid isn't with me. I asked him about her and he told me," Skye said.

"Did you tell my father about her?" Variant Skye asked still panicked

"I didn't. I told him I might have some things that will help you realize you can trust I am trying to help you but that they are things you should tell him when you are ready," Skye said

"You said things. As in more than one what else do you have?" Skye's variant asked

"I understand why you hated Thor, and why things went back with your friendship with Loki," Skye said

Variant Skye let out an angry breath. "Who you told you?"

"Your Tucker," Skye said. "I believe you. And I told Loki as such."

She nodded a little.

"Even if we can get her out of there, they will find us," Skye's variant said. "There is nowhere in the world we can hide that they won't track us down," she said in tears.

"Correct me if I'm wrong. But aren't you the strongest super in this world?" Skye asked

"I don't know, I've been told yes and no to that," Skye's variant said.

"Without you in the picture who do you think is stronger? Hydra or the Avengers," Skye asked.

"The Avengers," Skye's variant said.

"So we get your daughter out, you keep her safe with you and the good guys take Hydra down," Skye said.

"I don't think I could get her out without Tucker here too, he stands up to my mother better than I can," Skye's variant said.

"I don't know if I can convince those in charge on my end to allow him back here right now," Skye said.

She nodded and wiped her eyes.

"How did you get Loki transported to my world?" Skye asked.

"I didn't," she said slowly. "He did. He used to show us this multiverse travel device thing he had. I don't know where he got it but I assumed that's how he did it."

"Wow," Skye said.

"Yeah, he's not a bad guy but he's a little shit. God of mischief right? I understood in the beginning why he didn't want to believe his brother did that but when I showed the proof and he still didn't believe it that is when I decided I couldn't be friends with him anymore," Skye's variant said. "Not that he wanted to be friends with me."

"I'm sorry for what happened to you," Skye said

"Thank you," Variant Skye said.

"I'm not trying to win a whose childhood sucked more contest here. But I know what it feels like to have that choice taken from you," Skye said.

Variant Skye looked up at her. "Who was it for you?"

"Foster parent. I was four. I didn't even know what had happened to me was not normal until I was about eleven," Skye said.

"Wow, you were in foster care?" Skye's variant asked.

"Yeah. When I was born my mother put me in foster care. Didn't tell my dad about me at all. Hydra in my world managed to arrange it for my dad and Bucky to be there when I used my abilities for the first time. I didn't even know I had these powers until I was thirteen and used them against someone Hydra had arranged to try and attack me. Hydra knew my routine and knew Steve and Bucky's and made it happen. When they saw me using them they arranged for a mentorship to train me without the people responsible for me finding out. But at one point I convinced one of the other young Avengers to DNA test me to see if my biological parents were in the system and surprise I'm Steve's kid. I don't know who was more surprised when we found that out," Skye said.

Variant Skye shook her head, "You win."

Skye chuckled, "Not a contest I want to win exactly."

"You and Tucker together in your world?" Variant Skye asked.

"Yes, been together about five months," Skye said.

"So, no kid in your world?" Variant Skye asked

"No, my Tucker does though, with someone else," Skye said.

"Oh," Skye's variant said. "Does he know you are here?"

"Nope, he doesn't have abilities. I will tell him I came here. He knows I was coming here a few days ago," Skye said.

"When I pretended to be you," variant Skye said softly.

Skye shrugged, "you wanted to protect your kid. Switch sides and I'll forget about it."

Variant Skye nodded.

"Besides I gave you quite the black eye there," Skye said.

"Yeah, and being in here without the use of my abilities to heal. It fucking hurts," variant Skye said.

"They give you ice at least?" Skye asked

"Yeah," variant Skye said.

Skye nodded.

They were quiet for a few minutes.

"How do you think they would react to the two of us showing up and destroying things to get to your daughter?" Skye asked.

Variant Skye smirked. "They would be stunned."

"Do you know where exactly your daughter would be?" Skye asked.

"No, she could be in a few different places, if we showed up Victoria would likely take her and run," variant Skye said.

"Let me see what I can do to get Tucker here," Skye said.

She left the room and looked at Wanda. "You are more likely to get them to agree. We need her Tucker here. To go in to get you know who."

"Who are you trying to get out of there?" Variant Steve asked.

"Why don't you go in there and ask your Skye," Skye suggested.

Variant Steve went in.

"Please Wanda," Skye said.

"No," Wanda said. "I agree with them. He should be kept there until things are settled."

Skye walked away and went and found Wong. "I'm ready to go back. Wanda will stay here for now."

Wong nodded and took her back.

"Thanks," Skye said. "You should go back for when Wanda is ready."

Wong nodded and went. Skye went and found Loki in his room.

"Okay, I'm done with the bullshit, you have two options. You tell me the fucking truth or I go into the conference room and tell them what your brother did," Sky said.

Loki let out a breath.

"How did you come into this world?" Skye asked.

Loki got up and went into a drawer, took out a device, and held it up.

"Can I please borrow it?" Skye asked

Loki handed it over.

"Does it go to only your universe?" Skye asked

"Yes," he said.

Skye snuck downstairs to the room where the variant was and opened the door mumbling that she was so dead when she came back.

Variant Tucker looked up at her when she came in.

"Ready to go back to your world?" Skye asked holding up the device.

"They have no idea you are taking me do they?" he asked with a smirk.

"You want your kid back or not?" Skye asked

He got up and Skye pushed the button, opened a portal, and went through.

"Skyler, what the hell did you do?" Wanda asked when she saw them.

"I'm tired of everyone treating me like a kid. I know this will work. You all say you trust me yet you won't let me do what needs to be done," Skye said. "You of all people know what it feels like to grow up in a world without your parents. I will not let that little girl be raised by fucking Hydra when her parents want her out. We can't go in there. They can."

Wanda shook her head.

Skye looked at Tucker's variant. "If you fuck me over I will kill you."

"Noted," he said as she led him to where Skye was being held.

Variant Steve saw them and shook his head, "I'm guessing this is Tucker?"

"Yes," Skye said.

"Does your dad know you brought him back here?" Variant Steve asked.

"At this point probably," Skye said. "Did she tell you?"

"About their kid? Yes," he said narrowing his eyes slightly at the boy.

"Really, your grandchild is stuck with Hydra and you're annoyed with him?" Skye asked.

Variant Steve sighed.

"Please don't stop this," Skye said

Variant Steve pushed the code into the door and let his daughter out.

Variant Skye ran to Tucker and wrapped her arms around him.

Variant Tucker wrapped his arms around her tight, "Hey, it's okay. This is our way out. We will go get her and get out of here. I can figure out a way to get us out of this world forever." He whispered.

Variant Skye shook her head, "We will get her out yes. But we need to be here. We need to help clean up the mess Hydra has made."

Variant Tucker let out a breath.

"We will help you keep your daughter safe," variant Steve said.

Variant Tucker nodded.

"And Dr. Strange is gone. Had we known what he did to you when you were ten he wouldn't have been here," variant Steve said.

Variant Tucker looked at Skye, "you told him?

"Yeah," Skye said. "He needed to know that Dr. Strange is not who he claims to be."

Variant Tucker nodded.

"You two better go before people from my world show up and try and take you back," Skye said.

Both teenagers from that world looked at Steve.

Variant Steve showed them out once they were gone he looked at Skye and shook his head.

"If this goes wrong I'll take the blame," Skye said.

"You are lucky, you are not my Skye," variant Steve said.

"If it makes you feel better when I get home I'm sure I'm in a lot of trouble," Skye said

"Oh I don't doubt it," Steve variant said.

Skye looked around.

"Wanda already left with Wong," Bucky's variant said.

"Oh. I'm sure someone else will be here soon," Skye said

About half an hour later Bucky came through a portal with Wong.

"I know it wasn't your goal. But you Skyler, have far exceeded the angriest I have ever seen your dad," Bucky said to her.

"Hi Papa," Skye said softly.

Bucky took a breath and shook his head. "Where is Tucker's variant?"

"I'm guessing Hydra base at this point with his Skye, getting their daughter," Skye said.

Bucky shook his head.

"I know I'm in big trouble. And if this doesn't go the way I think it's going to go I will deal with the consequences of that too," Skye said.

"Skyler, you have done things you shouldn't before. Many times. But this Skyler, is the stupidest thing you have ever done. And you are not stupid. This is so reckless. Do you know what could happen if the two of them have been playing you and us this whole time?" Bucky asked.

"Yes, I know how bad this could be if they both were playing me," Skye said. "But you trust me right?"

"This isn't about me or your dad or any of the adults that care about you trusting you. This is about you being fifteen and not knowing what we know and how bad things can go," Bucky said.

"I already said I know how bad this could go. I know. And yes I'm fifteen. But can you tell me that when you were fifteen you had gone through anything like I have?" Skye asked.

"No," Bucky said. "Skye, I know you have more maturity than the average fifteen-year-old. But you pulled this stunt. You want us to believe you have matured but you deliberately disobeyed your dad."

"Because he wouldn't let me do this!" Skye said loudly.

"No, do not raise your voice at me," Bucky said sharply.

"I'm sorry," Skye said calmly. "I did not want to go behind anyone's back to do this. And I accept the consequences. But I have these abilities. And I want to help everyone. I verified things as much as possible. I tried to do this with an adult help. But you all doubt my ability to make sure I'm not being tricked and manipulated. I grew up being lied to and manipulated. By the adults who were supposed to be taking care of me. I know how to spot people lying and manipulating me."

Bucky let out a breath.

"I am sorry I went behind your back and everyone's back. I really did not want to," Skye said.

"You are in trouble, big trouble," Bucky said.

"I understand," Skye said.

"You took a big risk for people who tried to hurt you," Bucky said.

"Because they were trying to protect their child," Skye said. "What would you do if you wanted to protect your child?"

"To protect you? Anything," Bucky said with a smile.

Skye smiled.

"And think about what Hydra did to you what would you do to protect that innocent child who is stuck at the hands of Hydra?" Skye asked.

"Pretty much anything as well," Bucky said.

"So, why is it so hard to think I would do the same?" Skye asked.

"Skye, it's not that you wanted tohelp that little girl, help Skye and Tucker in this universe," Bucky said.

"You think I didn't think it through enough," Skye said

"Correct," Bucky said.

"What do you think I needed to think through more?" Skye asked. "I can read people better than any of you. It's literally my ability."

Bucky nodded a little.

"Look. I'm not trying to get out of trouble. But can you understand, I knew what I was doing with this?" Skye asked.

"We will see how this plays out," Bucky said.

"Okay," Skye said.

Bucky looked up at Steve's variant. "You try to stop this?"

"Your Skye is very convincing," variant Skye said.

"You're easier to convince than my Steve," Bucky said.

"Maybe because I've spent the last ten years in fear of what was being done to my daughter. If this could get her out of the grasp of her mother," variant Steve said.

"Yeah, I suppose that would be different. We didn't even know about this one until a couple of years ago," Bucky said.

"I imagine her dad would be worried about losing her so soon," variant Steve said. "For the record. I wouldn't have let your Skye go in there alone. My Skye and her boyfriend," Steve said shaking his head andtrying to wrap his head around that. "Know the base and are better equipped to know how to handle Victoria."

"Your Skye did say that Tucker is better at getting what they want from Victoria. Skye has a hard time saying no to her," Skye said. "Which is why we needed him here."

Variant Steve nodded

"Why didn't you come tell us that?" Bucky asked.

"Would it have made a difference?" Skye asked him.

"You'll never know now will you?" Bucky asked.

"Come on you know it wouldn't have made a difference," Skye said

Bucky shrugged.

Skye shook her head and rolled her eyes.

Bucky narrowed his eyes at the girl. "I saw that Skyler."

Skye cringed, "Sorry."

They all sat down and Skye looked at Bucky. "He's really more pissed than you have ever seen him?"

"Yes," Bucky said

Skye sighed, "If this works out the way I have said. Will you help calm him down?"

"Why do you think I'm the one who came? So he has time to calm down," Bucky said.

"Oh," Skye said.

"No matter how pissed he is. He loves you," Bucky said.

Skye nodded.

"You do know that right?" Bucky asked.

Skye nodded again and looked down.

"Hey, look at me," Bucky said softly.

Skye looked up at him.

"There is nothing you can do that would make your dad or I stop loving you," Bucky said.

"Okay," Skye said.

Variant Steve was pacing after it reached two hours and they were not back yet.

Variant Bucky looked at him, "Sit. Pacing isn't going to bring them back any quicker."

"I can't. I'm too worried," variant Steve said

"I get it but you are just tiring yourself out and if we have to go in there to save them you need your full strength," variant Bucky said.

Variant Steve looked at Skye, "You're sure there is a kid?"

"When Tucker was in my world. I got a look at the stuff he had on his person. There was a picture of him with a kid. My Tucker has a kid. So I kinda thought maybe that was the same. There is a difference. I'm not the mother in my world, but yeah. I saw the picture. I saw the look on his face when I brought him the picture," Skye said.

Variant Steve nodded and looked at Bucky.

"How do you feel about the guy she is seeing having a kid?" Variant Steve asked.

"Well, he created the kid but isn't raising her, it's different," Bucky said.

"My Tucker and the mother gave the girl up for adoption. She was adopted by an amazing family. Tucker is involved in her life but it's not as a parent," Skye said.

Variant Steve nodded.

"I didn't know he had gotten someone pregnant for years," Skye said.

"Yeah, the look on her face when she found out. She was stunned," Bucky said shaking his head.

"I was pissed," Skye said. "We don't keep secrets from each other."

"Does he know you're here?" Bucky asked.

"He knows about the initial time I was here, I will tell him about this too," Skye said. "Just after it's finished."

"Fair enough," Bucky said.

Variant Bucky got up and left the room for a few minutes.

"Steve. I can distract you from your worry for a few minutes if you want," Skye said.

"Oh?" Variant Steve said.

Skye smirked

"Don't you dare Skyler," Bucky said.

"I kind of want to know what she is thinking," variant Steve said.

"Well, I did try to stop her," Bucky said throwing his hands up.

"I know you are technically married to Victoria," Skye said.

"I am," variant Steve said. "But that is done. I'd help her get away from Hydra if she asked. For the sake of my daughter but that relationship is done."

Skye smirked.

"Oh, I see why he was trying to stop you," variant Steve said shaking his head with a chuckle. "Friends that's all we are here."

"Come on I can read people's emotions. You think I don't know?" Skye asked with a chuckle

"Skyler," Bucky said warningly. "Now is the time to stop."

Skye chuckled.

"Were you two together before she was found out about?" Variant Steve asked Bucky

"No, I didn't even know he had those feelings until I overheard a conversation Steve was having with her about us when we were young," Bucky said. "But we both always had those feelings."

"The conversation about the picture?" Skye asked

"Yes," Bucky said.

"I didn't know you heard that," Skye said.

"So Skye, you say you can read people's feelings. Did you know the two of them did?" Variant Steve asked

"Yes," Skye said. "But that was before I knew about those abilities so I didn't fully trust them as more than maybe I was misreading things."

Steve's variant nodded.

"But now I know about them, and they are much stronger," Skye said with a smirk.

"Skyer Sarah, this is your last warning. Knock it off," Bucky said

"Your middle name is Sarah?" Variant Steve asked.

"Yes, I didn't have a middle name until my dad got custody of me. He asked me if he could give me that middle name. In honor of his moms," Skye said with a smile.

Variant Steve smiled.

"Does your Skye have a middle name?" Skye asked.

"She does. It's Victoria," variant Steve said.

Skye nodded

"I picked her first name," variant Steve said.

"How long after Skye was born did you find out who she really was?" Bucky asked.

"She was just under a year when I started noticing something wasn't right," variant Steve said. "And she was four when I found out who she was."

"Wow," Bucky said.

"My dad didn't know anything. Until my DNA was checked and found to have super blood that couldn't be connected to him," Skye said.

"Oh wow," variant Steve said.

Another hour went by before variant Tucker came back in carrying the little girl who was asleep on his shoulder. Both looked like they had been in the middle of a battle.

Variant Steve stood up. "Where is Skye?"

"I'm right here," variant Skye said limping in looking worse off than the other two.

Variant Steve went over and helped her over to a seat.

"It's just twisted," variant Skye said.

"Let me look please," variant Steve said.

Variant Skye didn't fight it.

"So, how did it go?" Skye asked cautiously.

"Hydra's base is gone," Tucker's variant said.

Skye looked at her variant.

"Yeah. I didn't have a choice," Skye's variant said.

Variant Steve looked at her, "did anyone get out?"

"Some did, I don't know exactly who. But I know mom did," variant Skye said. "She did try to grab Kara and run but I got to her before she could and I know I hurt Mom but I didn't kill her. The base is gone though. Everything. All the stuff from other locations the computer stuff gets sent there. So without that, it's going to take them a while to even attempt to get back up and running."

"You did good kid," Steve's variant said.

Variant Skye teared up a little.

"Hey, what is it?" variant Steve asked.

"I never thought I'd hear those words," she said softly.

Variant Steve wrapped her in a tight hug as she sobbed.

Skye looked at Bucky with a smile.

"Okay, you were right. It worked out," Bucky said.

Variant Bucky looked at Tucker and the little girl "Areeither of you hurt?"

"No," variant Tucker said. "She was just very tired. It was clear she has been being used and trained while we have been gone."

Variant Skye broke from her dad's grasp. "Starting her earlier than it was with me threw me over the edge."

"Well we will do a full physical on her and make sure she is fully okay," variant Steve said.

Variant Skye looked at her other world counterpart. "Thank you."

Skye smiled and nodded.

"No. You have no idea. I am forever in your debt," variant Skye said.

"Just keep working with the good guys, and make sure your little girl has a better upbringing," Skye said.

Variant Skye looked at Bucky, "I'm guessing she is in a lot of trouble right now. Based on the fact that Tucker told me she brought him here behind everyone's back. But I couldn't get my daughter out of there without him."

"I will pass that message along," Bucky said.

Skye looked at her variant, "Can I ask you something? In private."

"Of course," variant Skye said and she got up. The two walked away from the group, and a few seconds later heard laughing a few minutes later both teens came back and sat back down.

"What was that about?" variant Tucker asked.

"Nothing," variant Steve said looking between both girls andshaking his head.

"Wait, did you use your abilities to hear that?" Skye asked.

"I did," variant Steve said.

"Guess I can do the same when you try to have private conversations," variant Skye said.

"Do I want to know?" Bucky asked.

"Conversation you already told her toknock off," variant Steve said.

Bucky looked at Skye unimpressed look on his face.

Skye shook her head.

America and Dr. Strange came into the room.

"Hello, I heard you two were here," Dr. Strange said.

"You our Strange?" Bucky asked.

"Yes," he said.

"Great. Because it's time for us to head back. Unless there is something else we can do to help?" Bucky asked Steve's variant.

"No, you have helped plenty. Get her back to her dad," variant Steve said. "Thank you for everything."

Bucky looked at Skye and the two left with America and Dr. Strange.
