Chapter 3 is here for you people! I wanted to give some depth in the relationship between Naruto, Naruko and Kurama. Obviously this is the most important relationship in the story, and I want to give depth to it before they become genin. Many have asked and I'm here to answer honsetly, this is not, I repeat, NOT! A NarutoxNaruko fic. Never been a fan in incest shipping and I aint starting today. Still I implore you to read because I've got plenty of ideas for this story. For those who are curious the ships are Naruhina for Naruto, and Narukura for Naruko, and the next chapters are really going to hint at that. Enjoy.
Chapter 3 Getting stronger every day
The night was dark and the moon was full. All around the land was being scarred by battle, fires burned the beautiful nature, the blood of innocents deeply soaked the soil. Standing above all of it at the tip of a tree, was a orange-redhaired man. The ancient spirit of the Land Of Fire, the Nine Tailed Fox, looked down on the scene of distruction with a calm look of both sadness and anger. It's been 800 years since the old man sent him to this place, and he's seen much of humanity. Despite being able to become one, and live among them, he couldn't understand them. They want peace, yet desire conflict. They persue strength for their own selfish satisfaction, and will happily use that strength to cause more conflict. Power… Hate, and the end of all of it, that's all that was gained from this bloodshed.
He looked up at the moon, "Kurama, I want you to go to this place. Protect the land and the people that reside there. Maintain the balance of nature, watch over them, and help spread Ninshu to the people… It may be difficult for you, but please aheed to this request. You're the strongest of the nine, Kurama. Many may come to fear you, other may come to reveare you, some may even want to covet your power for their own desires." A smile spread across the sage's lips, But I believe in you, the people, AND in Ninshu. Do your best, Kurama." Thoughts of the old man ran through his mind, his smile a permanent image in his memory.
"I try, old man. I try so damn hard. This isn't what chakra was meant for, they don't want to listen. And those who do, they understand but it never lasts long." He gripped his head in frustration. He's done his best over the centuries to help and aid the people, he's done a good job of that. But on the other side he's come to be known as a spirit of life, as well as destruction. His chakra reeked of nature energy, giving furtility to the land and making the Land Of Fire so beautiful. He would appear in his true form in times of consequence, when greedy humans would threaten the balance of nature and harm the innocent. He would use his power to destroy those people, much as he took no pleasure in killing. There was no use for his power if it didn't protect the innocent, and he figured at some point these humans would finally get it right.
Over and over and over again, and they still couldn't get it right. Now they were in a era where essentially every power of the land was waring against each other for more power. Though most the ninja clans of the land werent evil or power hungry, they were tools in all of it. He'd become good friends with many of the ninja clans, particularly the Akimichi and Sarutobi clans. Whenever there was an issue or dispute amongst the people he would intervene and act as a mediator, usually doing this in his human form. Those who knew of him simply knew him as Kurama, a powerful wanderer, his true form and identity was a secret to his closet associates. He had so many people come to his temple in revenance of his power, he decided to build a village around it. The survivors of destroyed villages looking to him as their savoir chose to follow him, it wasn't something he planned but he accepted it as a way of watching over the land and guid the people, the ones who actually reveared him. He trained the people, along with them bringing in their own skills of agriculture, and in a few years there was a large, thriving settlement around his temple.
Kurama… Kurama… Kurama~!" a gentle feminine voice spoke, urging him to open his eyes and acknowledge her.
It was a bright sunny day and the fox took one of the few moments he's had in the past few months to take a nap. Most knew not to bother him in these moments of solo relaxation, but there was one exeption. He slowly opened one of his red eyes, he was laying in the shadow of a tree and before him was a beautiful brown haired woman of 20 years old. She had a beautiful smile and was smiling lovingly at him, with an elegant face and ocean green eyes. Her hair was styled into a braid that hung over her right shoulder. She was average height, wearing a red kimono similar to his haori with flowers instead of flames. She had a noticeably curvy figure, but the most notible thing about her appearance was that she was visibly pregnant.
"Is something wrong, Hinako?" He asked, looking her in the eyes.
The woman calmly shook her head, her smile shined brighter, "No. The baby started kicking, I thought you would like to feel it." She responded by bringing both her hands to her stomach.
The fox in his human form stood up and nervously placed his hand on her belly. He felt his child kick, sensing a strong chakra within and it made him smile with pride. He was happy about this, it confused him for a while, but he didn't question it. He's seen enough through the centuries to know that life always finds a way.
Hinako placed a hand on top of his, "She's going to be strong, just like her father." Her ocean green eyes looked into his red with love and assurance.
"She?"
"It's just a feeling I have, but I'm sure it's a girl." Her beautiful smile shined in response.
Kurama loved to see her smile, it was amazing she'd come this far with him. Becoming his wife and bearing his child, it was ironic this would happen after the way they met. Ten years ago he was casually walking through the Land Of Fire when he came across a little girl being mauled, about to be killed by wolves. He fought the beasts' off and healed the girl, despite trying to take her to another village she chose to stay with him. "Well let's hope she looks like you."
Kurama's dream was ended by the sound of a tree snapping, he opened his eyes to see the tree he was laying under had been snapped just above him. Before him he saw Naruto holding a position with out outstretched right fist, his eyes were calm and shifted just as the blur that was Naruko passed over the him. The two traded blows of fierce and brutal taijutsu, Naruto was the physically stronger of the two, but Naruko was faster and more agile. Kurama had taught them a doujitsu called the "Transparent World Jutsu". By focusing chakra in the eyes it allowed the user to see into the body of others as if they were transparent. It also increased the user's visual perception, making things look to be in slow motion. By reading the flow of a person's blood, muscle contractions, breathing and joint movements it allows the user to predict a person's movements before they make them. The jutsu didn't allow the user to see chakra like the Byakugan or Sharingan, but it gave better visual insight than both of them. And once mastered as user could become virtually untouchable.
Kurama had taught them the hand signs and now they were training to master this jutsu. He watched them spar, they were both going all out and it entertained and pleased him. Since he's been with them he's been having more and more dreams about the past, most of them pleasant. But it made him wonder what might have been, and that pain and uncertainty would never leave him. He's never been close to any of his Jinchuriki, both Mito and Kushina just saw him as a powerful beast that needed to be locked away. Never once in the years he was within both of them did they ever talk to him, only at or down to him. It's been nearly sixty years since he was first sealed, and though time is nothing to a Tailed Beast; he wasn't over his freedom being taken from him. Then he was split up, and sealed into two brats. It may have been childish innocence mixed with ignorance, but they possessed emotional maturity his previous jinchuriki didn't.
They spoke to him, face to face with no hatred or deception. A little fear which was understandable, but just from that alone showed him that they were different. The time he's spent with them has been nice, he hasn't felt like this since he was with HER. Even after learning about the sealing, their parents and his role in their deaths, their feelings toward him were the same as the day they met. They trained together, played together, ate together, laughed together, it made him wonder if this is what it was like to have children; to have a family.
Naruko punched Naruto in the face, he tried to counter when she used his arm as a vault, balancing herself to kick him in the face. Naruto uses his free hand to block, but the heavy blow still sent him slamming into a rock. He shook off the stinging in his arm to leap over his sister who was on him in an instant, her fist smashed the rock where he previously stood. Naruto lands and rushes back, bringing a right chop to his sister's back. Naruko quickly spins left, her left forearm blocking the blow just in time and cracking the ground beneath her, the two struggle against each other with Naruto overpowering Naruko.
Reading his blood flow and muscle contractions, Naruko brings up her right hand to deflect a left punch from Naruto. She grabs his arm and shifts right, jumping to spin kick her brother in the left side of the head. Naruto uses his free left hand to block and deflect her leg, putting her upside down for a moment. This gave him a clear shot at her stomach, he fired a heavy blow to Naruko's unprotected gut, just before his fist connected he felt a brutal hit to his own stomach. Naruko had used her free hand to strike him, his stomach in her face at the moment, also ungaurded. Both of their fists' connected with their twin's stomach, sending them both back. Naruto skid back before dropping on bended knee, Naruko sprawled on the ground for a while before stopping and getting her bearings in a croached position. Blue eyes locked on each other neither of them ready to give up.
Naruto gritted his teeth as he acclimated to the fresh pain, "Damn, we both gave an opening on eachother. If we were enemies that would have been a mutual fatal strike. She's always been faster than me, I can't get around that, but to nail me in my solar plexus like that? I was so busy blocking and reading her body I didn't notice. There's no getting one up on you; is there, Ruko." He thought with a smile.
Naruko eyed her brother, the smile on his face exciting her. She grit her teeth from the pain in her stomach, "You're as strong as ever, Naru-Chan. If that had been a bit higher you could have broken a few of my lower ribs." She thought as she looked into her brother's body, she saw his muscles, his organs, his blood, his bones. "This jutsu is weird! I can't be the only one who thinks that, Naru-Chan?!"
"This is definitely weird. Being able to look inside someone like this is a little disturbing, I can see your heart beating, Ruko."
"I can see yours too! And your brain!" Both of them turned to their Teacher/Tailed Beast who was laying under a splinted tree and looking at them calmly. Naruko's face became mischievous, "I know that look, did we interrupt one of your awesome daydreams?"
"You did, actually. It was just getting good when you got knocked through this tree." Kurama said, unconcerned that she may have been hurt from that.
Naruko shamelessly pointed at Naruto, "He did it."
"Then learn how to block!"
"Not everyone learns and grows as fast as you, Naru-Chan!" She exclaimed, raising her fist.
"True, but you're the smart one, figure it out!" He exclaimed, pointing at her.
"Do you really want to go there with me right now!" She shot back.
Now now, relax you two." Kurama said, standing up and walking towards them. "I've heared how you both have been talking, and I've been watching your movements. So, how does it feel to use the Transparent World Jutsu?"
"Like I said a minute ago, Kurama, this is weird! It's ironic that a swordsman invented this and not a shinobi."
"I still want to know about those demons you mentioned." Naruto perked up, "If that was as serious as you said, it's crazy how that's not in any history books."
"Most people didn't survive an encounter with a demon. Also, not bumping into one is how it should be, people going through their daily lives without worrying about that is the best way to live your life."
"I hear that!" Naruto exclaimed, sitting down and taking a break. "Still, what kind of demons are we talking about here? The eat people kind or posses people kind?"
"Sometimes both, but usually the eat people kind." Kurama answered honestly. "It's a story from way back, 600 years to be exact. The short version is there was a man named Muzan Kibutsuji, who gained great power by taking medicine made from blue spider lily. This medicine made him strong, but weakened his body to the point he would die if he were exposed to sunlight. Not only that, he had to consume human flesh to survive, and using his blood, he transformed people into demons, granting them power as well at the cost of the faculties. 600 years ago, myself and my good friend, Yoriichi Tsungikuni, cornered Muzan and defeated him, bringing an end to the demons." Kurama smiled pleasently at the memories of his old friend.
"That sounds like an interesting story, I want to hear about it in depth later, Kurama." Naruko spoke as she stood up.
"It's crazy how far back you can remember." Naruto jumped to his feet as well, ready to get back to sparring with his sister. Both stood across from each other and got in their respective stances, quickly activating the Transparent World Jutsu the two rushed at each other in a burst of speed. Their fists were fast and hard hitting as they clashed, blocked and countered. Though Naruko was the undisputed faster of the two, she was having more trouble than Naruto when acclimating to this jutsu. Naruto didn't let up, reading Naruko's body and attacking accordingly. Kurama watched them intently, noting how once again they were quickly grasping another of his teachings. "They've been at this two hours already, and they're already beginning to master your jutsu, Yorrichi." The fox in his human form smiled pleasantly as he watched them train.
Next day at the academy
All of the girls had been grouped together for the Konoichi class, these were lessons specifically catered to the girls at the academy. They were in a large field full of flowers and other plants, their teacher for this was Suzume. She spoke of the importance of the role shinobi women play, and while most girls listened to their instructor there was was one who obviously wasn't. Naruko Uzumaki was in her own world, completely disregarding what her teacher was saying. As Suzume spoke about how important it was for Konoichi to adept to customs of women of other nations to succeed as a spy, Naruko was playing with Kurama in her own psychic plain. She changed the mental landscape to one of a beautiful golden void, Kurama found no problem with this. He found it even less of a problem when she jumped over him and played with his tails, gripping onto one and letting them swing her around was the funnest ride imaginable.
This went on for a while with Naruko jumping, swinging and sliding along the fox's tails, she was having the best time when Kurama flicked the tail Naruko was holding and the young blonde was launched into the air. She was yelling her head off with excitement as she gracefully spun and flipped before landing perfectly before the fox. She could hear everything Suzume was saying on the outside, and apparently she wanted them to group up and collect flowers. Time moved slower in this place but it stil wasn't long enough for her, She cutely pouted at the fox, "Aw man~! That old hag has terrible timing." She turned to leave, "Well, see you later, Kurama. Enjoy your nap! By the way, what's Naru-chan doing?"
Kurama let out a small chuckle, "He's doing taijutsu training and he comically let the Akimichi boy beat him."
"He let Choji beat him!" Naruko couldn't help but laugh at her brother's antics, imagining how he lost was so funny she held her stomach.
"Just three more years, and you can show them who you both really are."
"That's why I work so hard everyday, I can't wait to take the mask off." She gave him a wave and a cute smile, "See you later Kurama, I love you!" Her words echoed as she faded from the room and everything went back to normal. The fox smiled pleasantly as he closed his eyes for a nap, he liked spending time with Naruko, her laugh, her personality, how she clung to him and was always eager to listen to him. It brought back pleasant yet painful memories from a past life.
Naruko opened her eyes back in the real world, the girls around her were dispersing to go pick flowers. She stood up and looked at everyone doing their assignment across the field, she always hated these classes, seeing them as a waste of time. As Kunoichi they were taught to be spies, to blend in and use your looks to achieve any and all success, she hated that narrative. Just because she was a girl didn't mean she couldn't be strong, she's beaten her brother in a fair bit of spars and she was positive she was stronger than all of their so-called "Teachers". She was sure she could beat most losers in this village. A part of her wanted to just go off and reveal her true strength, but she restrained herself because of Naruto and Kurama. The moment they graduated and became ninja, it was on.
She had no interest in doing this assignment, honestly wishing she could have just stayed with Naruto and let their loser classmate think they beat them. But since she was forced to be here, she figured she'd relax before heading back to the academy. She walked through the field, scanning for a good place to relax, she spotted a tree on the edge of the field, Ino and Sakura were near it. As much as she couldn't stand those two it was the most relaxing place out here so she headed over. She looked around, Suzume wasn't looking at her, no one was paying attention to her. Faster than anyone on the field could perceive, she body-flickered to the tree, Ino and Sakura didn't even notice her.
She looked up at the first branch that ws about 10ft off the ground, "This looks like a good spot." She thought with a smile. Just then the faint sounds of chirping hit her ears, looking down and about a meter away from her foot was a baby bird that had fallen out of the nest. For a moment Naruko looked between the bird on the ground and the nest above it, she had nothing but empathy for the little bird as she gently went to pick it up. The crunching of the grass underneath her sandals alerted Ino and Sakura to her presence, "It's okay little one, I've got you." She gently pick up the chirping baby bird in her hands.
"What are you doing, Naruko?" Ino asked with slight aggression.
"Where'd you even come from anyway?" Sakura added, not having noticed her approach at all.
She didn't say a word, only jumping to the branch and placing the bird back in the nest, it's two other siblings seemed to chirp with joy at its return. "That's how it should be, siblings should always stay together." She said with a warm smile, the baby birds resonated with her act of kindness and chirped excitedly at her. She moved away from the bird siblings and rested along the branch, she wanted some peace and quiet but Ino just couldn't allow that. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Isn't it obvious, Dumb-Dumb? I'm gonna take a nap." She made herself comfortable on the branch.
"Typical stupid Naruko, you just love wasting everyone's time." Sakura snarked.
Naruko closed her eyes, not facing the girls and smiling unconcerned, "Picking flowers has nothing to do with being a strong Konoichi. If you witches want to waste your time with this then go for it, I have better ways of spending my time."
"That's funny coming from a dead last loser." Ino insulted.
Naruko could only chuckle at that comment, "It's cute that you think that. I'm trying to rest, so tweedle dee and tweetle dumb, I need you both to scram. The last thing I feel like hearing is you two pathetically fawn over Sasuke." She raised her left hand to shoo them away.
Ino grit her teeth, Naruko's attitude always made her blood boil, despite the fact she always beat her in ninja training. She specifically enjoyed beating her up in taijutsu training, but her brasen attitude never changes. Both her and Naruto were losers but still acted like they were better than everyone, usually they could ignore that but they were just so loud and annoying. "Naruko, I've about had it with your mouth! You better watch your step or else?!"
"Or else what?" Her tone remained unconcerned.
"What's going on here?" Suzume questioned the girls, she approached sensing this situation could turn hostile. She had been watching most of the girls do their assignment but never saw Naruko enter a tree.
Sakura was the first to speak, facing their instructor and pointing at Naruko, "We weren't doing anything Suzume-Sensei, Ino and I were talking and Naruko came over her started causing trouble, just like her and Naruto always do."
Naruko stayed in the tree, inwardly rolling her eyes at the pinkette's allegations. Suzume looked at the pig-tailed blonde who made no attempt to defend herself, "Naruko, do you have anything to say for yourself?"
"Not really. Only that Pinky and the Porker over there are annoying, I'm missing out on a nice nap because of this nonsense."
Suzume raised her glasses, annoyed with the girl's words, "Your assignment is to pick flowers, not take a nap."
"I fail to see how picking flowers is gonna make me a strong shinobi. I can see how it'll make me a nameless peasant, but I refuse to be that, so I'm just gonna take a nap." Her tone was brutally honest, shocking Suzume, Ino and Sakura.
The instructor's lips trembled, almost as if she was going to cry. She had put a lot of work into planning this assignment and Naruko just disregarded it as a waste of time. She enjoyed being a teacher at the academy, the Konoichi class was something she enjoyed teaching, helping young girls become ninja was so fulfilling. But Naruko's words had struck her to her core, she brought a hand to her glasses to conceal her rising emotions, "Do as you wish, Naruko. Ino, Sakura, finish your assignment." Her tone sound sad as if she was going to cry, something the three younger girls noticed. She then walked away leaving the girls to speak.
Ino noted Suzume's tone just now, "See what you've done! Suzume-Sensei's upset because you stomped on her assignment!"
Her eyes were still closed as a casual smile spread across her lips, "Like I care. I have better ways of spending my time. Now continue picking pretty flowers, Peasants." Her words had no remorse as she rested her arms on her stomach, "I wish Naruto was with me." She inwardly thought.
Back at the academy
Iruka stood before the class on the training field, all the girls were gone at the moment so it was smaller than usual. They had finished taijutsu training and it was time for Shuriken training, the boys seemed to enjoy this the most. "Alright, now we're gonna practice your shuriken jutsu. Who would like to go first?" The moment he said this he had the usual volunteers in the form of Naruto and Kiba. They were the only one's most eager to demonstrate their skills, he decided to go against the norm and pick someone different tha usual to start out. "Shino, how about you give it a try?"
The boy paused for a moment, "Iruka-sensei, I believe you've chosen the wrong person for this. The shuriken jutsu isn't something the Aborame clan practices, for all matters of warfare we rely almost exclusivly on parasitic insects." The bugs in question began to emerge from his body as he continued to speak, disturbing most of his classmates. "We house them in our bodies for-"
"Alright Shino, that's enough!" Iruka exclaimed, cutting him off as his bugs were disturbing most of the class. "Sasuke, come up and give us an example please."
The young Uchiha made his way to the starting spot, the other boys just calmly watched him with most of them thankful the girls weren't around to cheer him on. Sasuke readied himself, whipping out the shuriken needed and tossed them at the target, hitting every single one. Sasuke let out a barely noticeable "Hmph", no joy or pride in his gaze.
"Well done Sasuke, good job." Iruka turned to the rest of the students, "Would anyone else like to try?"
Naruto was the first to raise his hand, "Me me me sensei! I can do this!"
"Alright, you're up, Naruto." Though Iruka smiled, he was clearly concerned about how bad Naruto's attempt would be.
The blonde boy approached the starting position, passing Sasuke and shooting him a glance as he did so. Naruto faced the target post, "Now, how should I do this?" He looked at the four other target posts, "Four posts' remaining, twenty-four targets in all. I could hit all these with the Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu… But my focus is on one target post at the moment." He thought as she whipped out the shuriken, "Now what's the worst way I can do this?" He shot a quick glance at Iruka before smiling slyly, "That'll work. Sorry in advance, sensei." Naruto confidently tossed the shuriken, he held a cool pose before raising his head and acted shocked that he didn't hit a single target. Iruka was pale from one of those nearly hitting his throat, the shuriken were stuck in places from the ground, a tree, a fence, nowhere near any of the targets.
The class behind him erupted into laughter, Kiba was the loudest, "That's the worst attempt I've ever seen!" The others agreed as tha laughter got louder.
Naruto pretended to laugh with them and protect his pride, "Haha, yeah I was just kidding around you guys." The boys went silent. Naruto bolted to Iruka, "Iruka-Sensei, you gotta let me try again you just gotta! I can do this."
Iruka wasn't in the mood for this after that last attempt, "No, let's move on."
Later that afternoon
Naruko had returned from her konoichi class just as the school day had ended, they spoke about their time apart and had their usual back and forth. They made plans to train with Kurama and blow off the academy tomorrow and send shadow clones in their place. Kurama has been talking lately about them going out and getting their first kill, something they would do with the bandits that hung out near the village. As they left the academy they overheard one of their classmates, Hibachi, and his pals planning a test of courage tonight. Both of them saw this as a prime opportunity to scare them so after training with Kurama they concocted their plan. They had some ramen at Ichiraku as a reward for training before heading home, the sun had gone down and they enacted their plan. Naruto would wear the fox mask they got the other day, wear a sheet to act as a cape while Naruko would do the scary voice.
"This is gonna be so sweet!" Naruto exclaimed with a giddy smile.
"It's been a while since we scared someone, those losers don't know what's coming!" Naruko agreed.
Konoha Cemetary
"Aaahhh!" A boy with long hair and glasses yelled in fright as he ran back towards his friends. He had a paper lantern for light but the ominous feeling in the cemetery was too scary. This was a test of courage, but this was too scary, he sensedd that someone was watching him, that he might die if he picked up the sticks.
Hibachi was unimpressed with his friend, "Seriously, none of you whimps is brave enough to go in?"
"You don't have to call us names y'know."
"Whatever, out of the way, loser." Hibachi shifted past his friend and went towards the cemetery. He entered and the area was indeed ominous, especially at night. Hibachi swallowed with the chills spreading across his body, "This isn't so bad. All I have to do.. Is take one of those sticks." He focused solely on the sticks at the top of the steps to ignore the ominous feeling around him. All the hair on his body stood on ended when he suddenly heard a growl. It was rough, it was sudden, and most of all, it scared him, in that same moment a shadow casted over him. He slowly raised his head and saw what could only be described as a Monster Fox who's blue eyes seemed to glow as it stared him down. The growling got louder and it terrified him to his core, "Ahhhh! It's a monster fox!" He yelled fearfully before bolting in the opposite direction, dropping the lantern where he previously stood.
Hibachi ran for his life, startling his friends when they saw him leaving the cemetery like he'd seen a ghost. They didn't ask any questions and just ran away with him, Iruka was heading home and was surprised to see his scared students running away from something, "Woah, what's going on here?" Three boys ran past him without saying a word.
It was Hibachi who clued him in on what was going on, "We saw a monster fox!"
"What!" Iruka went on alert and bolted to where the boys had just come from, he turned and entered the cemetery and didn't feel any presences. He looked up and spotted a figure standing atop the fire statue, arms outstretched and wearing a fox mask, he understood why the boys were scared. Before he could decide his next choice of action the figure leaped from the statue, their cloak fluttering in the wind and they landed before him without making a sound, something that put Iruka fully on edge. He readied a kunai as the person raised up, getting a good look at them he could see they were the size of a child, a thought entered of who this could be when the figure began to laugh. At that same time he heard a second wave of laughter, and he instantly knew who he was dealing with, and what was going on.
"Hahaha! Serves them right, those chickens got scared and ran off!" The voice of Naruto Uzumaki exclaimed before pulling off the mask.
"Aaahhh! It's a monster fox!" Naruko mimicked mockingky as she came from behind the statue, laughing just as much as Naruto, "Those losers!" She kept laughing uncontrollably, "This just made my whole day!" She came down the steps to join her brother.
"You better watch it sensei or the fox will get you to!" Naruto exclaimed with a bright smile. Though he was smiling, he was on full alert from the fact Iruka's body language was aggressive and he still held a kunai. Naruto decided to call him out on this, "Sensei?" His tone was innocent, but it made Iruka realize he was holding a weapon. He quickly put it away, but his expression didn't change.
Naruko had gotten her laughs out, "Man that was fun. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces the next time we see those losers." She giggled a bit before she joined her brother and sensei.
Iruka's expression was cold, just like everyone else. "Naruto, Naruko, do you know what you're doing by pulling these pranks all the time?"
Naruko crossed her arms while smiling unconcerned, "Yeah, we're having fun, sensei."
"No, what your doing is causing civil unrest and causing problems for people."
"You say that like it's a bad thing" Naruto stated.
"Because it is a bad thing!"
"Well we don't have any parents and people go out of their way to be mean to us, avoid us and keep us isolated. Not to mention they give us this nasty look that I really hate." Naruto said.
"The same look you're giving us now, sensei." Naruko added. Iruka's retort caught in his throat after hearing her words, his expression shifted with shock and shame in his eyes. "So much for our teacher, even you hate us too."
"Naruko it's not-"
"Not what?!" Naruto cut him off, "When you're used to being hated for nothing it's easy to spot the signs. Even you.. Our own teacher!" Naruto dramatically lowered his head, "Why does everyone look at us like that all the time!" Iruka took a step back from his words and his tone, whenever he looked at them he couldn't help but think about what was inside them. It wasn't their fault for the nine-tails attack, but he just couldn't help it.
"We're not some bugs or germs, we're people you jerk!" Naruko yelled at him, again, stunning him.
Naruto turned to leave, his blue eyes piercing Iruka who just stood there in shock. "Some teacher." He then left along with his sister, Iruka tried to call for them to explain but the words wouldn't come.
"Damn it."
The twins made it all the way back to their apartment, both of them couldn't help but chuckle at the scene that had just unfolded. "Did you see the look on Iruka-Sensei's face!" Naruko exclaimed, bringing a hand to her forehead.
"I almost felt bad for the poor guy, but we seriously would have had a problem if he didn't put that kunai away."
"I noticed that too." Naruko shrugged her shoulders, "Well, it's not like he's ever been different from the rest of our teachers." She said lowly before quickly brightening back up, "Which is why the only teacher I acknowledge is Kurama!"
"And you're all the wiser for it." The fox commented.
"So we're gonna bail on the academy tomorrow, what do you want to do?" Naruto asked.
"There are several things I want to get done, but tomorrow, let's take it easy before we train." Just then there was a plume of smoke and the fox appeared in his human form.
I have an idea of what to teach you, but right now you both need to get your first kill."
"Yeah, we're gonna go after bandits, right?" Naruto asked excitedly.
"We can go tonight if you want." Kurama suggested
"Yeah yeah yeah, let's go tonight we're going tonight!" A jumping Naruko joyfully exclaimed.
"Well we'll get on that, let's have some dinner first. I'll cook." The twin blondes cheered in unison as the fox went to the pulled out the ingredients needed to make plenty of his dish. After some cooking The fox prepared several bowls of Katsudon, the twins went starry eyed at the delicious meal spread before them. They dug in without needing to be told, and their faces lit up from the taste of the katsudon. The flavor, pork and rice blended together so perfectly the twins couldn't discribe it. Kurama had taught them how to cook many things, if it weren't for him they would probably be eating ramen constantly. Naruko was a better cook than Naruto and the two alternated with cooking duties, but they both looked forward to Kurama's cooking. It was if food was prepared by a literal god. By the end of the night Naruto and Kurama had eaten four bowls of katsudon while Naruko had eaten three, Kurama even shared the story of how Naruto always ate alot even as a baby.
He had such a large appetite that their hired wet nurse was hesitant to nurse him because he latched on so hard and sucked so much." This caused the twins to chuckle a bit as it wasn't surprising knowing Naruto. "Kurama, who was this wet nurse anyway?" Naruko asked, her curiosity getting to her.
"I could tell you but you might not like it!"
"What do you mean I might not like it?" Naruko asked confused.
She was Mebuki Haruno, Sakura's mom." He replied casually.
"Aaahhh!" Naruko yelled in disbelief.
"Wow, we and Sakura suckled from the same tit, never would have guessed." Naruto chuckled casually.
"How are you so calm about this!" His sister yelled.
"We were babies, Ruko. Plus we should be grateful someone was gracious enough to nurse us, otherwise we may have starved."
"That is true." Kurama agreed, "Now that I think back on it, baby Sakura would start whining whenever Naruko would suckle for too long."
"So that little bitch didn't want me to eat, good to know!" Naruko stated with crossed arms.
"C'mon, Ruko you know it's not like that. She was probably just jealous because she thought we were stealing her mom."
"Still though." Naruko dejectedly said, turning her head from him.
Later that night
A band of thirty bandits were moving supplies across their camp, they've been stationed out for weeks along with several groups. They were hitting up travelers and merchants making their way towards the leaf village and it was very profitable, "Wind Style: Wind Cutter!" A stranger called out as eight bandits were cut to pieces by blades of wind, the remaining bandits froze in fear at seeing the bloody remains of their friends ooze where they previously stood. Looking past the gory mess they saw what looked to be two kids, a boy and a girl, both blondes, the boy had spiky hair and the girl had pig-tails. The boy wore a fox mask and the girl wore an oni mask "Good evening my dear bandits, looks like business has been booming for you." The boy's excited tone scared them all to their core.
"It's a beautiful night for a raid isn't it!" The girl cutely exclaimed with a pumped fist.
A fearful bandit eyed their attackers, "N-Ninja? What, now way! They're only brats!"
"I thought we were doing good as to not tip off the leaf! I told you we should have moved on or they'd send someone." Another fearfully added.
"Oh the leaf didn't send us." Naruko stated, causing all of them to look confused. "This is all apart of our training, and part of that training is making you guys go bye-bye!" Though her tone was cute, she released a wave of killing intent that made them all feel what was about to happen, fear became edged on the face of every bandit present.
"Grow some balls!" The biggest guy demanded, looking out to his men despite his own chills and instincts telling him to run. He was clearly the leader of these goons, the was a tall, brawny, heavy set man with black hair wearing a bandanna with rough features. "That was just a sneak attack and they're only kids! Don't panic, just kill them."
These words gave the bandits some conviction to fight, but it made the twins smile widely behind their masks. Naruto pulled out two kunai and quickly coated them in wind chakra, giving them a larger look of the kunai Minato used to use. Naruko summed her katana and readied herself for battle, they had removed the seals handicapping them, right now they would go off with their full power. The bandits tensed up at the sight of their weapons, Naruto spoke up through the tense air, "Let's play a game! We'll call this "Best Bandit". Anyone it takes us less than five seconds to kill, is a crappy bandit. Anyone who last longer than five seconds, is a slightly skilled bandit." He raised both his kunai, "Game on!" Both kids disappeared, startling the bandits for a moment, that moment didn't last long. With blinding speed and precision, Naruko's sword delivered swift death to ten bandits, bodies dropped into gory messes, some without heads, others bisected in several ways. Naruto was just the same, wind blades in hand he made a mess of every bandit who entered his line of sight, it was a brutal slaughter that didn't last ten seconds. The leader turned around and saw the remains of his men hitting the ground one after another, they made almost no sound, it was if literal demons had come to take their lives just because they could.
"You damn Brats!" He yelled as he raised a tree trunk as a weapon for defense, his Adrenalin was pumping, his fight or flight was in full swing, but as he raised his weapon it quickly fell to the ground with a loud thud, and to his shock and horror both of his arms were under it. He had no time to dwell on it before feeling a brutal knee to his chin, the strength behind it was insane as it brought him off the ground. Naruto spins as the bandit rises up and kicks him in the stomach, knocking the air ouf him and sending him crashing into a tree.
He pulls back one of his kunai, "Four." He tosses it square into the man's head, making it splatter in an instant all while making a perfect whole in the tree where his head used to be. The headless corpse went limp and fell to the side, looking around at their handiwork, both agreed their first kill went off without a hitch.
"A bunch of crappy bandit here, that last guy almost made it to." Naruko joked.
"Meh, there are two more camps, so let's hope someone has some skill."
They made their way to the bandits stash and got away with some interesting stuff, plenty of food, some jewels, and 1.3 million ryo. Naruko pouted, "This is all they've got? They really were some crappy bandits." She looked up to Kurama who was standing on the tip of a tree and watching them from below, "Kurama, are you seeing this?"
The fox body-flickered down before them, "Haven't you heard the expression "Crime doesn't pay"?"
"No." She innocenty yet sarcastically replied, shaking her head.
"Anyway, there are two more camps in the area, split up at take care of the bandits there, and meet me at the meeting point."
Naruko bolted in the opposite direction, "I'm gonna be done first!"
"No you're not!" Naruto exclaimed as he chased after her.
Kurama smiled proudly at their development, and sibling competition has shown to be very good for them. But he wanted them to show the fruits of their training, they may not be able to get a serious challenge for a while. "This isn't a competition, use your training." The twins just kept going, "Brats weren't listening."
That ends chapter 3, don't wait long because chapter 4 is in the works. I'll age them up in chapter five and show more results of their training and knowledge. I think you're all gonna find their personalities appealing when they finally take the mask off, even I can't wait to write the chapter with them being their true selves, leaf village is in for a shock. Leave a review and I'll catch you all in the next one.
