Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'
The action was swift, as soon as Zoro booted feet touched the sandy sky beach. She jumped off the male's strong shoulder – him allowing her the freedom to do so. She was light on her feet, the sand grains drifting as her landed bare feet twisting as she turned to face the taller male.
Her sky-blue hues looking onto his dark grey ones. A moment, a heartbeat sounded loudly between them. To outsiders it looked like a deadly stand-off between foes. Yet for the crew, they could see the glittering hues of the raven-haired swordswomen - blue irises bright coming to life at the challenge, they could imagine the small smile hidden under the black mask. While her opponent sent her a cocky grin, sending a challenged. Swordsmen to swordswomen.
Both wait for a heartbeat, before spiriting into action – it was a spar neither need to wait for the other to attack first. They attacked together – her with her single long nodachi, him with his two katanas. The third blade staying in its white scabbard.
Being lighter on her feet she shot forward like a bullet – unearthing the long blade with practiced ease, sending it round in a large arch. Only to be block by his shorter katanas.
The first clash of metal on metal drew all of the crew's attention. All with varying reactions, horror from chopper and Sanji for different reasons. Enjoyment, from usopp, Luffy and robin and exasperation from Nami. The ginger letting out an annoyed sigh watching the pair spar.
His retaliation was swift, stepping close and moving his blades along her own to strike. Leading her to twirl out of the way. Zoro could see the slight crinkle of her eyes as they spar began. The danced began, dodging and block the dangerously sharp blades that broke though the wind and scattered gains of sand.
The more they move, the more they dance with clashing blade the more he noticed, he was slow. Much, much slower he was compared to the other teen who seem to glide through the air which made it hard as sped with that long nodachi would lead to a deadly combination. However, he was stronger, stances more rigid. His blows shook the blade and arms that held it.
Like air verses the earth.
They clashed a few more times, metal scraping against metal as the friendly spar continued. She twisted her long blade, forcing his two open and pointed downwards. It gave her an opening, even if it was only for a second, she took the opportunity.
She widens her stance, bring the blade upwards back towards her shoulder – both hands gripping the handle as she thrusted it towards the opening – towards unguarded throat.
Zoro grinned, moving quickly as he took a step back allowing room and shape for him to bring his two blades up in an 'x' shape. Catching her blade, dragging it upwards above his head.
Unperturbed, by the sudden change of movement, Dawnya when with it – letting her blade be dragged upwards as she bends backwards foot striking out as she flipped. Zoro let out a grunt, as the top of her foot stuck his chin.
She jumped backwards, making space – readjusting the grip on her blade. The green haired swordsmen was formidable – she'd almost lose the grip of her nodachi due to his strength.
This time he attacked first, using his two-blade style to swipe at the female. One blade aiming for her neck, the other waist, Dawnya wasted no time in jumping twisting in a fluttery of fabric and hair between the two blades taking on a more defensive approach as the stronger male continued the assault.
In the background she could hear the comments of the crew, giggle with cheery and occasional shouts from Sanji about zoro hitting a girl, and chopper being a frantic doctor. But she couldn't care less. It was glorious.
The winds wrapped around her in a dance as she jumped over the man's blades. Zoro smirk dropped into surprise as the light-footed female landed on his out sketched blade. The mental glistening in the sun, as she easily balances on blade of his Yubashiri starting her counterattack.
Her eyes turned more crescent like as the smile grew under the mask – eyes lighting up with enjoyment as the pair continued to spar. While growing up this is was truly made her feel alive. The strain of muscles, the pain, the ability to outthink your opponents on the battlefield made you feel alive. Alive for the moment when you could be dead the next.
The smirk widens on the swordsman's face, the green air male enjoying the challenge the other female opposed.
Once more blades, this two locking her longer signal blade in stalemate. "Not bad!" Zoro grinned, pushing a bit more of his strength again her blade – dawnya could feel herself losing the battle of strength, "could say the same to you" she responded in kind – though her voice was quieter.
"Good to see you know what to do which that nodachi of yours!" Zoro muttered pressing stronger against the interlocking blades. The grin turning vicious, as he twisted and pulled. Dawnya blinked as the nodachi was ripped for her hands and flung into the air. Flying towards the cheering crew, her on mind moved to automatic, the control taken like a puppet on strings.
Flipping backwards a rush of wind raced under her jumping form directly into an attacking Zoro – the male had hope to cause a surrender to the fellow warrior after making her lose the blade. But with an unexpected attack for a gust of wind sent him flying into the clouded waters.
She landed, feeling the familiar pull at her gut as she reached out, hand gripping the invisible air as the wind gripped her nodachi, her Tobutori. The blade inches away for a panic usopp private parts (it would have missed but usopp would tell a tall tale on how he defeated the fly blade...) The blade hovered in the air before she pulled, the wind wrapping around the blade as it flew towards her.
She glanced towards the now sodden Zoro, forcing herself not to bow and beg for forgiveness. "I didn't mean to do that, apologies"
"Seems your learning new skills with that power of yours" the male grumbled, pulling his third blade, the Wado Ichimonji out of its white sheath.
"It seems so" she responded her Tobutori landing gently back in her hand the wind caressing her bare skin as the grains of sand flew around her bare feet.
The pair was about to restart a more serious spar when a black booted foot swung down towards a green haired swordman.
"Stupid moss head! How dare to try to beat Dawnya~"
"Cury brow what the hell!" Zoro retaliated swinging his blade towards the blonde cook. The two beginning their ongoing scuffle.
"Dawnya are you alright!?" chopper jumped towards her, "you shouldn't be fighting! both your injured, what if to pull stitches"
"We are fine" she tried to console the panicking doctor, "just a friendly spar, blade against blade."
"That was t-terrifying!" muttered usopp.
"you two!" Nami punched the heads of Sanji and Zoro, dragging them back towards the group.
"hehe! Thats looks fun, maybe next time we will spar, eh?" Luffy grinned, bouncing over with his strange, shaped coconut. She concluded it was a coconut, or as close to a coconut one could get in the sky.
"That was quite a show!" a feminine voice called out.
"EH!" the crew shouted as one as they turned towards the newcomer.
"Is that an angel?" you have three guesses to who said that and first two don't count...
"Heso!" the winged women greeted with a small delicate smile on her face.
"HESO?!"
