When J attempted to leave the guild and never come back, Mary and the others tracked him down and found him. Mary figured out that J's real name is Jupiter, a fellow olympian, and that he's been surviving in this world for three years. As they stood in front of the grave of his last holder, Bruce Von Madder, he claims that Bruce is dead because of him. It all started three years ago...

Bruce Von Madder seemed like your stereotypical spoiled rich brat. He had a bunch of nice clothes, looked handsome with his blonde hair, and lived in a fancy mansion. He was hosting a party simply because he could. Women certainly surrounded himself with them.

"Don't worry, ladies. There's plenty of me to go around." Bruce said as he welcomed all the women he could. They all seem to love him, but they don't know him. However, some of the men were jealous of him.

"What a rich bastard."

"You think he could save some ladies for the rest of us."

"No worries, boys." Bruce said since he overheard them. "I got someone that can keep you entertained." He held out his arm and showed he had a pink and yellow olympian charm with the symbols for Jupiter and Venus on them. "Come forth, the one of radiant love! Venus!" The pink charm glowed with him summoning a beautiful woman with shining blonde hair with her wearing an elegant red dress and wore pink gloves that reached her shoulders with heels.

"You summoned me, sir?" Venus said.

"Yeah. Keep my new friends here company." Bruce said. The men certainly were enjoying the eye candy.

"Bruce, please not this again." Venus said as she didn't feel comfortable with this. "I don't like being summoned just to be viewed like this."

"Did I ask what you like?" Bruce said as he glared right at her. That gave Venus a good scare that she had to obey. As the men were enjoying themselves with Venus, Bruce stepped away and grabbed a drink from his butler. "That little baby... What does she have to be upset about?"

"She's the olympian of love, but that isn't love. She's more sensitive and caring, and certainly doesn't like being treated for pleasure like a toy. She's a living being." His trusted butler said. "Sir, pardon for speaking freely, but don't you think you are too hard on her? She does everything you say, even the unpleasant stuff, and yet you treat her horribly."

"Well, she's at my disposal, so I should treat her however I want." Bruce said.

"Bruce Von Madder..." Bruce looked and was met with someone that worked with the local authorities. "I'm sorry to disturb you, but I received word that you're being accused of abusing a woman."

"Pardon?" Bruce questioned.

"Some anonymous tippster left amessage that accuses you of abusing women."

"I really don't know what youre talking about." Bruce claimed with him putting on an act. "As you can see, all the ladies here are enjoying yourself. There is clearly a mistake." He managed to put up and act, but he knew who to boame for this.

When the party was over, Bruce took Venus somewhere private. When they were alone, he unleashed all his rage and fury on her. A smack could be heard with Venus hitting the ground.

"You tried to sell me out?! Are you trying to ruin me?!" Bruce shouted.

"No! I swear I didn't say anything to anyone!" Venus cried, but Bruce didn't believe her.

"You need to remember who your master is." Bruce said. "Luckily, you are quite beautiful and I couldn't score any woman today. I think I'll keep you around for about a week for my own pleasure. I'm going to need someone to keep me warm on lonely nights. That will remind you who is your master." Venus was real scared, especially since Bruce had a psychotic grin. Just then, Venus went back to Olympus. "You can't run, Venus. I'll just call you back." He was about to do that, but that was when someone grabbed his arm.

"She didn't run. I switched places with her." The one who grabbed him wore a Roman toga that went to his knees with him wearing sandals and had string leg braces. He also carried a rapier with a laurel wreath on his head. He looked like a real Roman warrior.

"Jupiter? How? I didn't call you." Bruce said with him freeing his arm.

"While we might answer your call, we olympians can come and go as we please." Jupiter said. "I used my power to take Venus' place. She also didn't do what you're accusing herof. It was me."

"Why? Venus is for my pleasure while you are my enforcer. What is this about?" Bruce said.

"I know how you treat her, but I'm not putting up with it anymore. I want you to release me and Venus." Jupiter said.

"What?!" Bruce said as he didn't like this defiance. "Do you know how rare it is to find charm, let alone two?! There used to be an abundance of these charms, but over time they were lost and destroyed! There's only a handful left! Why would I give that up?!"

"I don't care. I'm not putting up with how you treat us anymore." Jupiter claimed.

"I won't tolerate this! Begone!" Bruce shouted, but nothing happened. "Begone! Begone! Go away!" He tried every command but nothing. "Why isn't it working?"

"You can try, but I can refuse that order." Jupiter said. "I plan to stay as long as it takes for you to revoke your hold over us."

"There's just one problem." Bruce said. "Your stay determines how long my magic can last, and I doubt it will be long."

"Wrong. I can just simply rely on my own power to remain here even if yours runs out." Jupiter said. "Olympians designed for combat can last longer than others, and I'm stronger than most olympians. I could stay here for months. You've become too reliant on me and Venus to get your way, but that all ends." Jupiter showed himself out after that. "I'll be waiting at the old church for your answer." Once he left, Bruce was greatly furious over this. The thing about people like this is that they're so used to getting their way that they won't tolerate something like this.

...

One Month Later

Time went on. Jupiter waited by an old small church for Bruce to release him and Venus. Bruce came by every now and then to get him to give up what he considered insolence, but Jupiter refused to bow to this abusive will of his.

"Give this up, Jupiter. You can't expect you will last like this." Bruce said.

"Not a chance. I told you I can last months here." Jupiter said. "You can't summon Venus to abuse anymore, and I'm not going to do your dirty work. As long as I'm here, you can't get your way as usual."

"But I'm your holder! You're suppose to obey me!" Bruce shouted.

"Do I look like I can't think for myself?" Jupiter claimed. "You might hold my charm, but that doesn't mean you can order me around like my life doesn't matter. What's the matter? The big baby throwing a tantrum because he can't get what he wants?" Bruce was getting more and more furious over this, and it kept going like this.

...

Three Months Later

"Jupiter, please!" Bruce called. "You don't know what this is doing to me! People are beginning to turn against me! I don't have you to protect me, and I can't summon Venus to distract those losers!"

"Maybe because they're seeing you're true colors." Jupiter said. "You've become too reliant on me and Venus to get your way. You're on your own."

"Just how long do you think you can get away with this?!" Bruce argued. "You'll have to go back to Olympus eventually! I can last out here forever! You think I need you more than you need me?! Think again! Once I do that, Venus will pay for your disobedience! You can't keep this up forever, and she's going to pay for your mistakes! I'll strip her, beat her, raze her very spirit; and you'll be the one to blame for..." He didn't finish his threat because he actually got blasted by lightning right in the shoulder and knocked him off his feet. Jupiter became so furious that he actually fired lightning from his sword. "You actually attacked me?!"

"Consider that a warning. Get out, and don't come back until you say what I want to hear." Jupiter said. He isn't playing around here.

...

Six Months Later

Things began to quiet down after that. Jupiter remained where he was, but he got to enjoy the peace and quiet in the area. He looked up at a fully bloomed tree and admired it.

"You know, I never got a chance to see how beautiful this world really is." Jupiter said. "It's been six months. I can't believe how stubborn Bruce can be." Jupiter was trying to think of what else he can do about Bruce to break this stalemate, but something already did happen. Jupiter looked behind him and saw Bruce's trusted butler, but he looked miserable. A face like that can only mean one thing. When Jupiter was told what happened, he smashed his fist against the wall. "No! How?! How can he be dead?!"

"He was out alone and someone attacked him. Whoever did it was merciless and killed him in cold blood, and he couldn't call you or Venus to help him."

"What about Venus' charm?! Where is it?!" Jupiter said.

"I don't know. Your charm disappeared because you remained here when he died, but Venus' charm was never recovered. It's possible his killer robbed him for that."

"No!" Jupiter said. "I didn't want this! I hated how he treated Venus, and I wanted him to see we were alive like him! We had our own feelings and freewill, but I didn't want him to die!" He might have hated Bruce, but he didn't want this, and he feels that it's all his fault. He just couldn't hold back the screams of agony that he felt for causing this.

...

Present Day

Jupiter just finished telling all of them what happened, but none of them expected a story like that. Since Mary uses olympus magic, she probably took it the hardest.

"That was the last I saw of either of them." Jupiter said. "He lost his life because of my own insubordination."

"But it wasn't your fault. You were trying to protect Venus." Yukina said.

"So, were you banished from Olympus?" Maru questioned.

"No. Olympus doesn't have a monarch ruling over. We all bring equal order." Jupiter said. "Me being here is by my own choice. I'm too ridden with guilt over what happened to Bruce. Even though I hated him, it was my responsibility to help and protect him. Other olympians might understand what I did, but it doesn't change a thing. He may have abused that responsibility, he needed help and I couldn't get it. That's why I acted the way I did with you Mary. When I found out you use the same kind of magic, it brought back all those memories."

"But Mary isn't like that to her olympians." Sandy said. Mary wondered about that. She never treated her olympians that harshly, but she does use them at her own beck and call like nothing?

"I've remained here for three straight years, and my life force and magic power has been drained away." Jupiter said. "I may have found my way to Phoenix Flame, but my time is coming to an end." He suddenly felt a great deal of pain with him dropping to the ground and his body was beginning to fade.

"What's happening?!" Gin said as they all gathered around to try and help him, but weren't quite sure what to do.

"My life force and magic power have just about run dry. It's only right I perish in front of Bruce's grave." Jupiter claimed. "That's why I said I would never come back."

"No! This isn't right!" Aster said. "You're one of us! We can't just let you die!"

"Aster's right! Just go back to Olympus and you should be fine! That's how it works, right?!" Maru said.

"Forget it. I don't deserve to." Jupiter claimed. "It's probably for the best." For the best? Mary couldn't believe he would say that. Mary may not have cared that much before, but she certainly does now.

"No!" Mary shouted as she grabbed him by the shirt. "You can't just lay there and give it all up like that! If you won't go back, I'll make you go back! I'm the only one that can because I can use olympus magic!"

"It won't work, Mary! I don't deserve to go back!" Jupiter argued.

"No! I refuse to just let this happen!" Mary shouted. She focused on all the magic she could. She called on all the power she could to try and help Jupiter. Both of them were surrounded by a light.

"What's happening?!" Sandy said as they all had to look away from the light.

"Is Mary using her magic to try and force him back?!" Yukina said.

"Can she even do that?!" Gin said. It did appear to help Jupiter a little by restoring his energy, but he didn't want it.

"Mary, stop it! You're going to burn through all your magic if you keep this up!" Jupiter claimed.

"No! I can't just sit by and just watch this happen!" Mary said as she was pouring out all her magic.

"Cut it out, Mary! You'll die if you keep this up!" Jupiter said.

"You did what you did to protect Venus! You shouldn't be punished for that!" Mary shouted. "You had no way of knowing what happened to Bruce was even going to happen! What happened wasn't your fault! I'm not going to let you kill yourself over this!"

"Why are you doing this?! What does it matter to you?!" Jupiter shouted. When he asked that, she could a moment flash before her eyes.

"No! I won't let it happen again! I had the power to save someone before, but I couldn't do a thing!" Mary said as she could still see the smiling face of someone that was close to her. A time she felt so weak and powerless when she had the power to do something. "I don't ever want to go through that again! That's why I'm going to do what I can to save you!" She's willing to risk everything for this.

"Don't do this! Don't make me live with the feeling of your death was because of me, too!" Jupiter pleaded. "I want to disappear and just be free from this guilt!"

"How is you dying going to fix anything?!" Mary screamed. "All you tried to do was protect someone you care about! You shouldn't be killed for something like that! All that's going to do is create more sadness! What about the people that you mean to?!" Mary continued to pour out all of her power until it finally burst and blew the two of them away.

"Mary/J!" All of them called as the rest of them hurried to try and help him.

"Mary! Say something!" Maru called as he tried to help her. Luckily, she was still able to get back up.

"I'm... I'm not done..." Mary said.

"Would you just stop it?!" Jupiter called with him pushing Aster and Gin aside. "You're just going to kill yourself if you keep this up! Why are you risking your life for mine?!"

"Because this isn't going to do any good." Mary argued. "What happened to Bruce wasn't your fault. If you just disappear, what about all of your fellow olympians? They're waiting for you to return. How do you think they'll feel if you just die like this? If you really feel so guilty, it's why you have to live! Live and make it right! Don't make the same mistake Bruce made and be so stubborn about this!" When she put it like that, Jupiter realized he was being just as stubborn as Bruce, and that's what got him killed. "I may not have been in the guild for all that long, but aren't you suppose to care for each other and help each other?"

"She's right, Jupiter." Aster said. "I don't care what happened. We aren't just going to let you give up on yourself."

"You're one of us. You can't expect us to just let you die." Gin said. Jupiter understood all of that, but he doesn't know what to do with all the guilt he's feeling.

"I... I don't want to live with this guilt, but I don't know else to do." Jupiter said as he was beginning to cry.

"That's simple. You live." Mary said as she got back up and stood right behind him. "If you really feel so guilty, live and atone for it. You joined this guild for a reason, didn't you? Well, live and make it right." As Jupiter turned to her, he saw the sun began to rise with Mary holding out her hand for him. It was like an angel was pointing the way for him. Perhaps he did give up on himself over something that wasn't entirely his fault. If one feels so guilty, they have to live and make it right because one giving up on themself would hurt others more than him. Perhaps Jupiter does have a second chance, but he has to take it. That's why he took her hand.

"Thank you." Jupiter said before he vanished.

"He's gone!" Sandy called.

"No. He just went back. Now that he's back in Olympus, he'll be fine." Mary said. She looked down at her hand and now has the charm for Jupiter in her hand, and that means she now has four charms.

...

The Next Day

"Check out what Mamma has!" Mary called as she was holding up tickets for some tropical fun.

"No way! Tickets to Azule Beach! How did you managed to get those?!" Yukina said.

"Jupiter gave them to me. He was so grateful that he got a second chance that he gave these to me." Mary said. "He's been holding on to these, but never got a chance to cash them in. We'll have to leave soon because a few are about to go bad. Since I can't go alone, I figured you guys could actually use some fun for once."

"Yeah! We're going to the beach!" Gin cheered.

"This is so nice of you and Jupiter, Mary!" Yukina said.

"Well, I would like to take Yukina. The boys are just coming along to carry all the great stuff we're gonna buy and what we need on the beach." Mary said. "They'll also be sure to scare away the creeps so that you and I can just enjoy ourselves."

"What?! We're going to be your butlers or bodyguards?!" Sandy said.

"Who cares?! I'm just glad we get to go! I need to pack!" Aster said.

"You said it! Beach, here we come!" Yukina cheered. All of them were rather excited to hit the beach, but there was something Maru wanted to talk to Mary about.

"That was really great, what you did for Jupiter back there." Maru said. "I knew deep down you were a good person."

"Well, I'm not completely heartless." Mary said as she tried to keep the image she built for herself here.

"However, you mentioned something about having the power to save someone, but you weren't able to." Maru said. "You want to talk about it?" It seemed like Mary was beginning to open up, but she was closing off again.

"Did I really say that? This guild is turning me into a sap. For all you know, I was just trying to get Jupiter's charm. I probably only did this for myself. I said things I didn't really mean in the heat of the moment. It's not like I'm actually committed to this place." Mary said, but Maru didn't believe that. "Look, it's my business, not yours. It has nothing to do with you, so just drop it." Mary clearly wasn't ready to talk about it, and Maru can't push her. Mary is gonna have to come out with it when she is willing to. Everyone's past seems to be coming into the light. What Maru and his friends don't know was that someone else's past was about to come out as well.
