Pokémon: Pokédex no Isekai

Chapter Six: Psychic Surprise

The crew of The Big Beauty landed in Saffron City during the flying ship's time in the Kanto region, as Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Mina were working on trying to complete the Pokédex for every region, and they were starting in Kanto. There was little business in Saffron City for them to do; they could swing by Silph Co. for some spare Master Balls to help with catching some of the legendary and mythical Pokémon they don't own yet, but they already had a sufficient amount to capture all of said Pokémon that they don't own between them yet.

The reborn trainers stopped in Saffron City because Mina reminded them in private about how, in the video games in their previous life, one can get either Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan from the Fighting Dojo located in Saffron City. Figuring that it was at least worth a shot, Dawn decided to have Heath take The Big Beauty over to Saffron City, secretly planning to see if she and the other reborn trainers can get the two Hitmons. If not, then they'll probably leave Saffron as soon as they are able to, due to lacking other business in the city.

While the reborn trainers were making their way to the Fighting Dojo to look into the Hitmons, they stopped short when they encountered someone they were not expecting to see; Sabrina, the Saffron City gym leader. The reason that the reborn trainers weren't expecting to run into Sabrina is because of how, in the previous timeline, she had been killed by Team Scorn to prevent her psychic powers from revealing Team Scorn secrets. Team Heart in this timeline apparently hadn't thought of that, or maybe they're confident due to owning a shade over half of the known world.

Sabrina was dressed for a day off she was taking to go out into town for errands; she wore a light pastel pale brick red long sleeved blouse, a light pastel pale lavender skirt that reached near to her ankles, white socks, and slip on shoes the same color as her skirt. This was something else about Sabrina that surprised the reborn trainers; they would never expect Sabrina to be dressed in such a fashion. It didn't fit her rep as a ruthless psychic, nor did it reflect how she's a budding actress who is known to appear in the latest films.

Sabrina took note of how the reborn trainers were all surprised to see her. "Oh, it's you guys," Sabrina said, "Umm, is something the matter?"

"Sorry, it's just that we weren't expecting to run into you here," Trip began to explain, "We were wanting to see the Fighting Dojo, and then maybe go check out Silph Co., then we would be heading straight out of Saffron City to continue our business in Kanto as a whole before going on to take care of business over in Johto."

Sabrina instantly looked concerned. "You guys are planning to head to a land where the word of Team Heart is law?"

"To be honest, we're going to a lot of such lands," Dawn replied, "Although we'll be careful in lands that are ruled by Team Heart."

Sabrina relaxed a little bit. "...Well if you're certain. You guys are all powerful trainers, you especially so, Dawn." A look of somber regret crossed Sabrina's face. "And what's this about you guys going to the Fighting Dojo?"

"We heard a rumor and wanted to check it out," Kenny said.

Sabrina looked a bit concerned. "...I bet that I know of the rumor you want to check out. Would you like to join me for lunch?" The reborn trainers, surprised by Sabrina claiming to know the rumor of the Fighting Dojo they intend to look into, as well as being surprised by Sabrina wanting them to join her for lunch, agreed but were cautious.

They wanted to know what exactly Sabrina had on her mind.

A short while later, the reborn trainers were dining with Sabrina at a public restaurant. There, the Saffron City gym leader said, "I can only guess that you're aiming to find out if the rumors of the Fighting Dojo having been Saffron City's original official Pokémon League gym are true or not."

"The Fighting Dojo used to be the official Pokémon League gym in Saffron City?" Mina asked, looking rather surprised.

Sabrina nodded once in the affirmative. "Indeed. That was before the original leader of the gym that I now head up led a number of his fellows against the Fighting Dojo in a challenge to see which one between the two groups gets to be Saffron City's official Pokémon League gym. A bunch of fighting Pokémon users having to go against a bunch of psychic Pokémon users, you can probably guess how such a battle would go."

"So the current Saffron City gym used its significant type advantage to bully the Fighting Dojo out of its position in order to take over as Saffron City's official Pokémon League gym," Trip summed up, "But why, though?"

Shrugging, Sabrina replied, "He wanted the prestige of being head of an official Pokémon League gym in the Kanto region." Letting out a sigh, Sabrina went on, "The current Saffron City gym having challenged the Fighting Dojo for its position happened two days after a certain student of the Fighting Dojo was expelled from it. Had that student not been expelled, then the Fighting Dojo most likely would have beaten the current Saffron City gym in its challenge to them."

The reborn trainers were all surprised to hear that. "So the Fighting Dojo had an ace student who could very well have prevented the current Saffron City gym from bullying the Fighting Dojo out of its position," Dawn said, "Well who's the student in question?"

"Hanae, who is the Admin in charge of the Kanto Sector of Team Heart," Sabrina replied.

The reborn trainers all looked shocked. "You think he turned to villainy over being booted from the Fighting Dojo?" Kenny asked.

Sabrina gently shook her head in the negative. "Hanae wouldn't go so far over the expulsion in and of itself," Sabrina replied, "But the injustice that dictated his expulsion, an injustice he's faced for ages according to what I've come to learn about him, would be just the ticket."

"What is the injustice in question?" Mina asked.

"Racism." The reborn trainers all looked shocked again by the simple answer that Sabrina gave. "According to the story I got on the matter," Sabrina began, "Hanae was the Fighting Dojo's top trainer and student, earning nothing but praise from the master of the Fighting Dojo. Hanae was also the only minority member of the Fighting Dojo, being cocoa skinned while all of his peers were fair skinned students."

Sighing in a knowing, resigned tone, Dawn scowled, "Oh, here we go..."

"The Fighting Dojo, you see," Sabrina went on, "Despite being an official Kanto Pokémon League gym, was more or less dependent on a singular financial supplier. The financial supplier in question was a racist man who, upon finding out that a minority was outshining fair skinned students of the Fighting Dojo, demanded the expulsion of the minority student in question and also the barring of all minorities from the Fighting Dojo from that point moving forward."

"So that's why Hanae was expelled from the Fighting Dojo," Kenny said.

Nodding once, Sabrina went on, "Two days later after Hanae's racially driven expulsion from the Fighting Dojo, the Psychic trainer gym in Saffron City challenged the Fighting Dojo to a contest with the winner becoming the official Pokémon League gym for Saffron City. It was their fighting type Pokémon versus our psychic type Pokémon. With such an advantage, how could we have ever lost the challenge that we issued?"

"It doesn't seem all that fair, now that you mention it," Trip spoke up.

"To make matters worse," Sabrina said, "Hanae like I had said had he not been expelled from the Fighting Dojo could very well have saved the day for it. Out of his four known Pokémon, two of them aren't fighting types, an Ursaring and a Beartic. His other two are, Bewear and Pangoro."

Dawn perked up at the mention of Hanae owning a Pangoro. "Pangoro is part dark type," Dawn said, "Making it immune to psychic attacks."

"The psychic trainer gym at the time had absolutely NO means of doing damage to a dark type Pokémon," Sabrina admitted, "Hanae leading the way with his Pangoro could have saved the day for the Fighting Dojo. But he had been expelled two days prior to the psychic trainer gym issuing its challenge to the Fighting Dojo. Without Hanae and his Pangoro, the Fighting Dojo never had even a chance at emerging victorious."

"Pfft, I bet the financial supplier for the Fighting Dojo was kicking himself when he learned he screwed over his interest in the Fighting Dojo," Kenny said.

"He cut them off the moment they failed him," Sabrina replied, "Now they get by on donations. I will admit that I've anonymously donated to the Fighting Dojo, partly out of guilt over how my gym had taken over as the Saffron City gym before I became the gym leader."

Folding her arms over her chest, Dawn said, "So Hanae is a victim of racism. I got it that Team Heart is against all manner of discrimination, and racism is, at least if you ask me, at the top of the list of which forms of discrimination are the worst." Arching a wry eyebrow, Dawn added, "But we recently got it that Team Heart apparently holds fatphobia as bar none the worst form of discrimination, it's even worse than racism in their eyes."

Nodding once, Sabrina said, "Yes. I was able to glean that much from my attempt to scry with my psychic powers to learn Team Heart secrets. But I'm always blocked. The most I was able to get is that Team Heart hates discrimination, fatphobia most of all. Interesting then that my attempts to scry for secrets led my mind's eye to a general area of Kalos."

"Kalos?" Dawn asked, her interest piqued.

Sabrina nodded in the affirmative. "Kalos, one of the free lands, has been touted as the most fatphobic region in the world. It probably has to do with how Kalos tends to be obsessed with what passes as beautiful by conventional standards, and being fat doesn't make that cut. I've also been able to glean that the heads of Team Heart not only want to take over Kalos and add it to the Team Heart Empire, but then make it the seat of the Team Heart Empire."

"Team Heart wants to hit Kalos where it will hurt, huh?" Kenny asked.

Sabrina nodded once in confirmation. "The current seat of the Team Heart Empire is Unova, where the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart rules from. The actual Boss of Team Heart remains unknown to everyone, even the Boss's Assistant who never sees the Boss when they don't have a disguising outfit put on."

Scowling, Dawn said, "So not even Bianca knows who the Boss of Team Heart is."

Sabrina gently shook her head in the negative. "No. I don't know either, despite my attempts to scry for those secrets with my psychic powers. All I know is that the answers lay somewhere in Kalos."

"So let's go over to Kalos and kick enough Team Heart ass to make the Big Boss themself come out to play!" Mina declared, "Lemme at 'em, I'll eff 'em up real good!"

"Mina, it'll be a while before we can get on over to the Kalos region," Dawn remarked, "We still have to cover a few things in other regions. We also lack sufficient information on the goings on of Team Heart over in Kalos."

Sabrina had a curious look on her face. "You guys plan to go to Kalos eventually," Sabrina began, "And you also plan to visit other regions soon, potentially even ones that are part of the Team Heart Empire. What is it exactly that you all plan to do?"

"We're trying to get every species of Pokémon registered as caught," Trip explained, "Our ultimate goal is to get a complete Pokédex."

Sabrina's eyes widened in surprise. "A goal that's loftier than even becoming Champion of a region. Dawn here is Champion of Sinnoh, as well as Monarch of the World Coronation Series. But she's now part of an effort to complete the Pokédex? You all are truly the walking textbook definition of the word ambitious."

Shrugging, Dawn replied, "Well we don't have much else going on, at least when we aren't having to deal with Team Heart."

"You guys are bound to run into a few roadblocks," Sabrina said, "In fact, I can tell you that part of your greatest efforts you'll have to give lay in Kalos, same as the answers to the truth of the identity of the true head of Team Heart. You will also have to give a little effort in Unova, and I don't need my psychic powers to scry for it to know some of your efforts lay here in Kanto, with Champion Ash."

Dawn figured that Sabrina was speaking of how Ash owns the legendary bird trio of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and that she and the others will have to touch trade with Ash to get the three of them registered as caught. But what about Kalos, as well as Unova, makes the efforts that Dawn and the other reborn will have to give there be so important?

Dawn was about to ask for more details, but was cut off before she was even able to get a word out when an employee of the restaurant they were all at came jogging up. "Miss Sabrina," the employee said, worry clear in his tone, "The Saffron City gym is under attack as we speak! It's Team Heart!"

Sabrina and the reborn trainers all perked up out of alarm. "Team Heart is laying siege to my gym?" Sabrina asked, "Why? And what for?!"

"I have no clue," the restaurant employee replied, "All I know is that from what witnesses have been able to gather and spread word about, their actual goal is wrecking the gym itself up as much as they can manage. I highly doubt Team Heart is actually after you personally."

"Team Heart wants to destroy Sabrina's gym itself?" Mina asked, "Why is that?"

Shrugging, Kenny said, "Maybe they're pissed that Sabrina has cheat psychic powers she uses to her advantage against trainers who challenge her at the gym, also most trainers have no means of defending against said powers."

Looking a little bit guilty, Sabrina said, "Yeah, I really need to reign in that habit of mine. It's actually gotten me into a little bit of trouble with the League Commission, both pre and post splitting of the Indigo League."

"We can discuss that business after we deal with the Team Heart members who are attacking your gym," Dawn remarked as she and the others got up to go deal with Team Heart, although they did first take care to pay for what all they've ordered before running out.

Dawn, the other reborn trainers, and Sabrina eventually made it to the Saffron City gym, and sure enough they were in the middle of trying to demolish as much of the gym itself as possible. Some of the gym's trainers, as well as Kanto regional security men, were fighting the members of Team Heart who were laying siege to the Saffron City gym, but not only did Team Heart bring sufficient numbers to keep everyone at bay while some members continued to attack the gym, but Team Heart was pushing everyone who tried fighting them, especially the security men.

"Figures that the assholes in the Kanto regional security force are yet again failing to measure up to the people they're dedicated to fighting against," Dawn scowled, "No doubt when this is all over and Team Heart's driven off, the security men will take all the credit for it."

"We need to stop this siege on the Saffron City gym," Trip said, "We can't let Team Heart get away with this!"

"Oh, I think you guys ought to let us have our fun."

Trip stopped short when a male voice called out to him and the others. At that point, their group was met up by a male member of Team Heart in a unique outfit, followed by one female Team Heart grunt and a few male Team Heart grunts. The uniquely dressed man with the grunts had enough numbers to have a one to one ratio against the heroes who opposed them.

The uniquely dressed Team Heart member was a fair skinned man with a light hint of a tan and a well toned body lacking even the barest scrap of excess fat. He had slicked back crimson hair although two lengths went over his forehead. He wore a black t-shirt under a pink men's long sleeved dress shirt worn open to reveal the t-shirt beneath, also the sleeves of the dress shirt were rolled up to the elbows.

He also wore black pants, black shoes with pink shoelaces, and he had a black Team Heart 'H' over his left pectoral on the dress shirt. The grunts with him all wore the standard Team Heart grunt uniform appropriate to their respective gender. "Well now, I was wondering when the leader of the Saffron City gym would be joining the party," said the uniquely dressed Team Heart member.

Dawn scowled in bitter annoyance as she saw the uniquely dressed Team Heart member gesture to Sabrina. "Who are you and what are you trying to do?!" Dawn demanded.

The uniquely dressed Team Heart member looked at Dawn for a moment, a curious look on his face, before he lit up a bit in amusement. "Hey hey!" the uniquely dressed Team Heart member said in amusement, "We got us Dawn Berlitz here! Tell ya what, I'll answer your questions if you answer some questions that I have."

Curious about what Team Heart wanted to know, Dawn said, "...Go ahead."

"What is it that you and your crew are doing here in Kanto?" asked the uniquely dressed Team Heart member, "Aside from getting up in the face of Team Heart business, that is."

Team Heart wanted to know what Dawn and her friends were up to in Kanto? Dawn didn't want to tell anything sensitive to Team Heart, so she decided to lie. "We're helping with research on different species of Pokémon on behalf of Professor Oak," Dawn said, not a COMPLETE lie as completing the Pokédex would do as Dawn was claiming to Team Heart, "We're focusing on species of Pokémon that can be found in Kanto first."

"Just Pokémon research? That's it?" asked the uniquely dressed Team Heart member, "Huh, and here the lads and I were worried you were trying to bring the fight to Team Heart. Well, Admin Hanae will be relieved to hear that you guys are just running errands for a Pokémon Professor. Now then, since you answered my question, I'll answer yours." Gesturing to himself, the uniquely dressed Team Heart member said, "The name's Ben, and I'm the First Captain of the Kanto Sector of Team Heart. The girl with the generously sized knockers is my Captain's Assistant, Moe."

"Do you always have to introduce me to people while always mentioning how my breasts just so happen to be bigger than average, Captain Ben?!" exclaimed the lone girl among the Team Heart members dressed in rank and file uniforms, revealing her to be Moe.

Pointing to Dawn, Ben went on, "And to answer your other question, the lads and I are wrecking up the Saffron City gym on behalf of the Fighting Dojo, who the psychic trainers of the Saffron City gym bullied out of their position of Saffron's official Kanto League gym. I actually find it hard to believe that the Kanto League Commission never even took issue with the psychic trainers having bullied the Fighting Dojo out of their position."

"The original leader of the current Saffron City gym was able to convince the League Commission officials that it was a peaceful and mutually agreed upon transaction," Sabrina said, "The League Commission has no idea of the truth. If they did, the current Saffron City gym would wind up in a good bit of legal doo-doo."

Turning to look at Dawn, Kenny said, "The word 'doo-doo' is one of the last things that I'd ever expect to hear come out of the mouth of Sabrina of all people."

Dawn had to ignore Kenny to focus on Ben. "I'm guessing that Hanae still cares about the Fighting Dojo, despite how they had to expel him solely because the Fighting Dojo's financial supplier wanted it due to said financial supplier being a racist twat who didn't like that Hanae who is cocoa skinned was out performing all of his fair skinned peers."

"Can you really blame the Admin for not being happy with such unfair bias?" Ben replied, "I mean, I doubt that anyone would discriminate against you, you're the Champion of Sinnoh and Monarch of the World Coronation Series. You're bar none the single strongest trainer alive. But say that you are discriminated against, excluded for whatever reason. How would it make you feel?"

"Bad," Dawn replied; she remembered, from her previous life, how she when she was Don was excluded during his life growing up due to being lower class, at least until things got better during his high school days. Don, now Dawn, understood that to be a form of Classism. "But I wouldn't go about seeing violent recompense for it," Dawn went on.

"If you don't stand up to the people who discriminate against you, then they'll go on thinking that it's okay to be a bunch of excluding jackasses," Ben went on, "We of Team Heart don't do that, we don't exclude others for reasons other people would exclude others. Team Heart just doesn't have the heart for it."

Dawn and the others got ready to deal with Ben and his fellows. "I take it that we'll have to fight you to try to get the attack on the Saffron City gym to stop," Dawn said.

"I'd tell you that you'll have to try," Ben said, "But I know full well that my crew and I don't stand a Magikarp's chance in the Distortion World of winning against you. The best that we can do is try to buy time to get cover so that at least Moe and I can escape."

"I won't be letting anyone who attacks the Saffron City gym get away with the crime scot free," Sabrina swore.

"Even though you admitted that the current Saffron City gym's position is technically unfounded?" asked Moe as she regarded Sabrina.

Looking concerned, Sabrina said, "Well, I, err, umm-"

"Sabrina," Dawn cut in, snapping Sabrina out of it, "Can you help me deal with Ben and Moe while my friends here deal with the bozo brigade that came here to back up their Captain?"

Sabrina relaxed a smidgen, gave Dawn an affirmative look and likewise nod. "Alright, Dawn. Just lead the way." Kenny, Trip, and Mina proceeded to lead the male Team Heart grunts away so that Dawn and Sabrina could battle Ben and Moe.

The battle began by seeing Dawn send out her named Roserade Akiza, Sabrina send out her Alakazam, Ben send out a Mienshao, and Moe send out a female Jellicent. "Mienshao, use U-Turn on Alakazam!" Ben ordered.

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Alakazam!" Moe commanded.

Dawn was pissed at Team Heart ganging up on Sabrina; obviously it's related to their attack on the Saffron City gym. "Akiza, use Extrasensory on Mienshao!" Dawn called out.

"Alakazam, use Shadow Ball on Jellicent!" Sabrina said.

Surprisingly, Mienshao attacked first, zooming in and striking Alakazam hard with super effective damage before swapping back with one of Ben's Pokémon which turned out to be an Alomomola. Akiza was then able to strike Alomomola with Extrasensory, but the bulky water type was able to tank the Extrasensory fairly well.

Alakazam was able to strike Jellicent with Shadow Ball, but despite the attack being super effective it didn't take down Jellicent, another bulky water type Pokémon. Also, Jellicent's Cursed Body ability triggered, disabling Alakazam's Shadow Ball and thus cutting it off from its ability to inflict any super effective damage on Jellicent. Jellicent's own Shadow Ball then struck Alakazam and did even more super effective damage, bolstered by STAB.

Alakazam was still in the fight, but not for long from the looks of it. "Akiza, use Giga Drain on Alomomola!" Dawn ordered.

"Alakazam, use Psychic on Jellicent!" Sabrina commanded.

"Alomomola return," Ben said as he swapped his Pokémon around, "Go, Tangrowth!"

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Alakazam!" Moe called out.

Ben swapped his Pokémon around to send in a Tangrowth, who took Akiza's Giga Drain well. Alakazam then blasted Jellicent with Psychic, which it BARELY endured before striking Alakazam with Shadow Ball and knocking it out. Sabrina was forced to recall her fainted Alakazam and send in her Slowbro.

"Akiza, use Sludge Bomb on Tangrowth!" Dawn ordered.

"Slowbro, use Ice Beam on Tangrowth!" Sabrina commanded.

"Tangrowth return," Ben said as he swapped his Pokémon around yet again, "Go, Alomomola!"

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Slowbro!" Moe called out.

Another swap from Ben saw him call back Tangrowth to send Alomomola back out, and Dawn saw it had healed some of the damage it took. It must have Regenerator as its ability. Alomomola took both Sludge Bomb and especially Ice Beam well, although it looked to be on the edge due to the damage from Sludge Bomb which also poisoned it.

Slowbro then took an uncontested Shadow Ball from Jellicent, looking to have taken a fair chunk of damage. A critical hit from another Jellicent dealt Shadow Ball could defeat Sabrina's Slowbro. Ben's Alomomola then was pained by its poisoning and ended up fainting, forcing Ben to call it back and send his Mienshao back out. Dawn saw that Mienshao ALSO healed damage it took, a sign that it also has the Regenerator ability.

Gesturing forward, Ben called out, "Mienshao, use U-Turn on Slowbro!"

"Akiza, use Sludge Bomb on Mienshao!" Dawn ordered.

"Slowbro, use Psychic on Jellicent!" Sabrina commanded.

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Slowbro!" Moe said.

Mienshao once more was faster, striking Slowbro with U-Turn and knocking it out with a strong critical hit before swapping back out to send in Tangrowth, who had also healed damage telling Dawn that Tangrowth ALSO has the Regenerator ability. Akiza's Sludge Bomb, due to Dawn anticipating that Tangrowth would come out, went on to hit Tangrowth and strike it hard, bringing it to the brink of defeat and also poisoning it.

With Slowbro defeated, Jellicent's Shadow Ball went on to fly at Akiza but the named Roserade did a spin on her left foot to dodge it. Sabrina recalled her fainted Slowbro and sent out a Mr. Mime, and Ben when his Tangrowth fainted to poison damage recalled it and sent his Mienshao back out.

Gesturing forward, Ben ordered, "Mienshao, use Fake Out on Roserade!"

"Akiza return," Dawn said as she swapped her Pokémon around, "Alright, Lincoln! Let's get goin'!"

"Mr. Mime, use Protect!" Sabrina commanded.

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Mr. Mime!" Moe said before hearing Sabrina call for Protect.

Dawn's swap came first, seeing her switch Roserade out for Latios, then Mr. Mime went next by throwing up a Protect. Mienshao, due to facing an opponent who was up in the air, saw its aim was off thus it failed to land Fake Out. Even if it did, the swapped in nature of Lincoln being in battle meant that Fake Out wouldn't make Lincoln flinch. Jellicent's Shadow Ball then went on to blast into the Protect, failing to do damage.

"Lincoln, use Psychic on Mienshao!" Dawn ordered.

"Mr. Mime, use Psychic on Jellicent!" Sabrina commanded.

"Mienshao, use U-Turn on Latios!" Ben called out.

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Mr. Mime!" Moe said.

This time, Latios was the quickest, and his Psychic blasted right into Mienshao and knocked it out before it could do anything. Mr. Mime and Jellicent blasted each other at around the same time, and although Mr. Mime endured while taking out Jellicent, Jellicent's Cursed Body ability triggered, disabling Mr. Mime's Psychic.

Ben was forced to call back his fainted Mienshao and Moe was forced to call back her fainted female Jellicent, but then she sent out a male Jellicent. Seeing Ben not send out another Pokémon told Dawn that he was wiped. "Lincoln, use Dragon Pulse on Jellicent!" Dawn ordered.

"Mr. Mime, use Dazzling Gleam on Jellicent!" Sabrina commanded.

"Jellicent, use Shadow Ball on Mr. Mime!" Moe called out.

Lincoln's Dragon Pulse went first and hit hard, actually scoring a critical hit and knocking Jellicent out. Mr. Mime seeing that its target went down stopped trying to attack. Seeing Moe call back her fainted male Jellicent and not send out another Pokémon told Dawn that Moe was defeated as well, thus the heads of this attack being carried out by Team Heart on the Saffron City gym had just both been defeated.

Seeing that Ben and Moe were defeated, Sabrina stepped forward. "You guys are done," Sabrina said, "It's best that you surren-"

"CAPTAIN BEN AND I NEED BACKUP PRONTO!" Moe yelled at the top of her lungs, cutting Sabrina off. Within seconds, multiple Team Heart members swarmed in and sent out a slew of various dark type Pokémon; mostly unevolved ones capable of evolving, but they were all at least part dark type. Seeing Sabrina taken aback, Moe said, "Did you think we'd attack the current Saffron City gym, which uses psychic type Pokémon, with Pokémon of the fighting or poison types? No way, we're not dumb like that."

Smirking at Dawn and Sabrina, Ben said, "This is where Moe and I take our leave, ladies. Adios." Ben and Moe then turned around and ran off, getting away because the only ones who could stop them were now occupied having to deal with the rank and file summoned by Moe's panicked cry.

Once again, the Officer and his Assistant got away.

Eventually, the attack on the Saffron City gym ended, and four rank and file level members of Team Heart were captured. But the Saffron City gym was ravaged to the point it had to shut down for a period of time in order to rebuild and repair. Additionally, the psychics of the Saffron City gym were totally useless as Team Heart came with dark type Pokémon. The psychics were, however, STILL more useful than the Kanto regional security men who were present trying to help fight Team Heart.

The Kanto region security men, naturally, boasted and bragged about how they had caught four members of Team Heart, even though Kenny caught three of them and Dawn caught the other one. While the Kanto regional security men were trying to claim glory that they didn't earn or deserve, Dawn met up with the other reborn trainers and Sabrina. "Wait, Team Heart asked about why we're in Kanto?" Trip asked, looking surprised, "Why would they care?"

"They're scared of Dawn," Sabrina pointed out, "So naturally they're gonna wanna know why she's in Kanto, as well as when she may leave. Although why she didn't straight up say she's working on trying to complete the Pokédex is beyond me."

"We have no idea what Team Heart may do with that information," Dawn said, "It's best to be as vague as possible."

Stretching his arms into the air, Kenny said, "Can we hit up Cerulean City next?"

Looking curious, Sabrina said, "Cerulean City?"

"Ash and Brock, who are buds of ours, aren't on speaking terms with their friend Misty who is also a bud of ours," Mina said, "We wanna know why, and if it's possible we can do something to help fix things there for them."

Sabrina held a hand to the side of her head, looked like she had a bit of a headache. "...At best I'm getting only vague scraps of info," Sabrina said, "All that I can tell right now is that Ash, Brock, and Misty are all innocent."

The reborn trainers were surprised that Sabrina tried using her psychic powers to scry for the information they need to solve the mystery surrounding Ash, Brock, and Misty. Sabrina wasn't able to glean much, but she was able to confirm that none among Ash, Brock, and Misty are at fault. It gave them hope that they'll be able to restore a strong group of friends.

It's what the reborn trainers all hoped for as they and the rest of the crew of The Big Beauty flew put of Saffron City and off to Cerulean City. It was a good thing they got a Hitmonlee and a Hitmonchan from the Fighting Dojo first, though.

(Unknown location, Kanto region)

Ben and Moe, neither of them wearing shoes, stood before Hanae and Emi, both also barefoot, in the sparring room that Hanae had set up at the Team Heart base in Kanto. "So Dawn Berlitz and her crew are merely helping with Pokémon research on behalf of Professor Oak," Hanae said.

Nodding once, Ben went on, "I'm not sure if I wanna have another bout with Dawn anytime soon. She ain't the Champion of Sinnoh and Monarch of the World Coronation Series for nothing, I learned that much first hand."

Hanae waved a hand in a dismissive manner. "I would never order anyone to march to their doom if I can help it. I had to give you the job of learning why Dawn is in Kanto because Lady Bianca wanted to know as she seems to be worried about Dawn running around freely."

"I do not blame the Boss's Assistant in the least for being worried about that, sir," Moe said.

"Well either way, the fact that you Moe and Captain Ben had engaged Dawn Berlitz and were able to escape to tell the tale is cause enough for celebration," Emi remarked.

Hanae nodded in agreement. "Indeed," Hanae said, "Especially as only four of our men were captured. Considering how many men total you brought to attack the Saffron City gym, the fact that only four were captured is nothing short of amazing."

Hanae normally doesn't like hearing of it when men of Team Heart are captured, especially men from the Kanto Sector as it's the Sector that he's responsible for. But he seems to understand that it just isn't possible to have everyone get away, at least while Dawn is around. As such, he'll be fine with it if as few men as possible are captured.

Everyone went to grab their shoes which were off to the side, took them out of the room, put them on, and went to get dinner. Hanae also wanted to celebrate the downfall of the Saffron City gym who had defeated and banished the Fighting Dojo, even though the Fighting Dojo had expelled him due solely to a racist financial supplier demanding it.

END, CHAPTER SIX

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the reborn trainers visit Saffron City, where they see that Sabrina, who died in the previous timeline, is alive in this timeline. That being said, persons who died in the previous timeline may also be alive in the current timeline. You'll see what I mean in some future chapters. But this is getting off subject.

The reborn trainers have lunch with Sabrina and learn from her some of the history of Hanae, the Team Heart Admin in charge of the Kanto Sector of Team Heart. It turned out that he was expelled from the Fighting Dojo because a racist rich guy demanded it because he didn't like that Hanae who is cocoa skinned was out performing all of his fair skinned peers.

Without Hanae and his Pangoro who is part dark type, the psychic trainers who would go on to make the current Saffron City gym ended up sweeping the Fighting Dojo when they challenged them to see who can be the official Kanto League gym for Saffron City. This would partly explain why Team Heart had decided to attack the current Saffron City gym.

Dawn and Sabrina team up to fight Ben and Moe, although Dawn tells them she and her group are doing Pokémon research on behalf of Professor Oak. Not a COMPLETE lie, but Dawn suspects that Team Heart should they learn of the quest to complete the Pokédex may try and do something to mess it up for her and the others.

Team Heart is driven off and the day is saved, but Ben and Moe both escape, and go on to give the (vague) answer Dawn gave to them to Hanae who is glad to see that some damage was done to the Saffron City gym. Anyway, the next chapter will see a trip out to Cerulean City, where Dawn and the others work on a mystery. Until then, take care.
