Chapter Fifty-one: The war for the world, part four

Lumiose City. The capital of the Kalos region. It is also, at least for the moment, the most heavily contested place in all of Kalos, if not all of the world. The fighting between the Kalosian rebellion and the Team Heart regime had reached its fever pitch there in Lumiose City, and many on the side of good had a rather strong feeling that things for the conflict in Kalos would be reaching its climax right there, in the heart of the region.

The fighting raged on as Dawn, accompanied by Leona, Omiyo, and Haldor were rushing on through the city, in a bid to reach the haven that they heard Professor Yvonne was rumored to be hiding out at. As Dawn and her party rushed on through the streets of Lumiose City, they had passed by the wrecked remains of Lumiose Tower, which had doubled as the Lumiose City gym. Even here in the Team Heart timeline, the tower was utterly wrecked.

Dawn had gathered that Lumiose Tower was wrecked here in the Team Heart timeline in a utterly horrific terrorist attack carried out by Team Heart, at around the same time that Team Scorn, back in the Team Scorn timeline, had downed the tower themselves. The only difference is that unlike back in the Team Scorn timeline, here in the Team Heart timeline, people had actually been killed when Lumiose Tower fell.

There was still how Clemont, a friend of Dawn's and the other reborn trainers, is the gym leader for Lumiose City, but is currently working some science teacher job at the trainer school on Melemele Island in the Alola region. Clemont will undoubtedly be asked to return to his gym leader job once the gym, and the tower that said gym is a part of, is finished being rebuilt. But a part of Dawn can't help but wonder if Clemont will WANT to come back.

Dawn didn't have to think hard to come up with a reason for why Clemont may not want to return to his gym leader job in Lumiose City. Lilia, his girlfriend who followed him and his little sister Bonnie to Alola. Lilia here in the Team Heart timeline had gotten rather obese, being in the range of Alexis and Lana. Lilia more or less was chased out of Kalos, same as Alexis.

If Lilia isn't welcomed in her own home region, then what reason would Clemont have for coming back to Kalos, even IF Lumiose Tower, and thus the Lumiose City gym, is rebuilt? Yet another reason why Dawn was hoping to come up with a way to implement Team Heart's anti-discrimination plan WITHOUT making use of Team Heart style methods. Otherwise, in what way would Dawn and what allies she has be any different than Team Heart?

As she and the rest of her group got close to where the haven that Professor Yvonne was rumored to be hiding out at, Dawn couldn't help but wonder what could have driven Yvonne to the extremes that she had gone to in order to bring about her twisted version of a vision that, on paper, actually is not all that bad of an idea. Did she suffer from some manner of discrimination in her youth? Was a loved one of hers discriminated against until ultimate tragedy took place?

This wasn't really the time for answers, as Dawn, Leona, Omiyo, and Haldor rushed right on up to the haven that Professor Yvonne was rumored to be hiding out at. There were Kalosian rebellion members fighting Team Heart members outside of the rather heavily fortified looking gates that led into the haven. Luckily, Dawn had the means of bringing down the gates so that she and those who were on her side could swarm on in.

"Tsukune!" Dawn called out as she called out her named Palkia, "Bust down the gate with Spacial Rend!" Doing as told, Tsukune conjured and cast its Spacial Rend right at the gate, busting it right into oblivion and allowing for some rebels to rush on in, although Dawn and her group were not all that far behind the rest of the heroes fighting to liberate Kalos from Team Heart rule.

Within the haven, Dawn looked around, amazed by the sheer size of the area. It was to the point that Tsukune not only was able to follow Dawn inside, but also move around freely. "My guess is that Yvonne," Haldor began as he tried to explain how the haven was so vast, "Due to her position as the true Boss of the organization that rules over half of the world, had no shortage of funding."

"...Yeah," Leona said as she called out one of her three Mamoswine, "Makes sense to me." Similarly, Omiyo called out her Granbull, and Haldor called out his Ursaring. Dawn decided to keep Tsukune out, figuring that as it was already out, Dawn could send it into battle immediately. But even with the Pokémon being out, Dawn and her companions had to be careful, considering that they were right in the heart of Team Heart territory.

As Dawn, her companions, and their Pokémon all looked around, they suddenly stopped short upon hearing the familiar voice of Yvonne barking out orders to lower ranked members of Team Heart. "This way!" Omiyo called out, wincing a bit due to the loud volume of the area overall, as she led the others over in the direction that Yvonne's call came from.

After a bit of running, Dawn and her companions eventually spotted Yvonne herself. She was in the middle of directing some Team Heart grunts to cover her escape as she turned around to escape. "Tsukune, don't let that woman escape!" Dawn called out, "Get in there and cut off her path!"

Yvonne was still running for a nearby exit, but she stopped short when the legendary Pokémon Palkia flew in and stopped right in front of her. Tsukune roared at Yvonne, the roar telling the woman professor that she was not going to be going anywhere. Scoffing bitterly, Yvonne turned around and saw it as Dawn, Leona, Omiyo, and Haldor came running up.

Dawn gave Yvonne a look that would broker no quarter. "This foul madness of yours is coming to an end right now, Yvonne," Dawn snarled as Leona, Omiyo, and Haldor all moved into position to keep Yvonne surrounded, allowing Tsukune to return to Dawn's side.

Straightening up, Yvonne said, "And what do you intend to do? Defeat and capture me? Bring down all of Team Heart and return everything to how it was prior to Team Heart rising to power in various parts of the world? Would you care to take a guess at what will happen WITHOUT Team Heart rule in the lands currently under my banner?"

Without giving Dawn a chance to speak up, Yvonne went on, "You need only look at the lands that Team Heart currently doesn't have dominion over. Good, innocent people in those lands are pushed around by those who would make themselves the powers that be, powers who care for nothing but their own personal bottom lines."

Continuing with her rant, Yvonne said, "They horde as much of what all goods that there are all to themselves, looking for any excuse possible to take from others to supplement their greed. And that is where discrimination comes in. People use discrimination as a tool to push others away from the goods so that they can claim more for themselves."

"Humans, as a rule of thumb, typically don't like having to share," Dawn spoke up.

Yvonne looked a bit surprised, but she settled back down and wore an amused smirk on her face. "I don't believe it," Yvonne said, "You actually see things from my point of view."

"I have to admit, I actually rather like the sound of what you want," Dawn said, "A world free from the stinging pain of discrimination." Yvonne nodded twice, but after that she looked confused as Dawn gave a gentle shake of her head. "...But I don't agree with the methods that you're using," Dawn said, "You aim to bring about a discrimination free world via iron fisted tyrannical dictatorship. There has to be another way, a better way."

"Trust me, Sinnoh Champion Dawn," Yvonne said, "There is no other way. Only by the force of the Team Heart Empire's authority and power can the good, innocent people of the world be free from the stinging pain of discrimination."

Dawn took a step forward. "...After Team Heart falls," Dawn began, "And believe you me, Team Heart IS going to fall, I will find a better way to bring about a discrimination free world."

Scoffing incredulously, Yvonne asked, "How? Will you and your friends with legendary Pokémon make the world behave by threatening to unleash said legendary Pokémon upon them if they don't?"

"How would that make my friends and I any different than Team Heart?" Dawn asked, "No, we will find another way, one that isn't some form of bullying." Scowling, Dawn said, "Because Team Heart, as noble as its goal of a discrimination free world may be, is still nothing more than a rather large group of bullies. That makes them no better than the people who discriminate against others, given that discrimination is just another form of bullying."

Yvonne scowled bitterly. "...How dare you compare Team Heart, compare me, to the very people who we aim to keep out of power," Yvonne snarled, venom in her glare and tone towards Dawn, "You have no idea what it's like to be on the receiving end."

"You'd be very surprised," Dawn replied, anticipating when Yvonne will try to attack.

However, Dawn was alerted when Team Heart members attacked Leona, Omiyo, and Haldor, seeing all three of them drawn into battles. Smirking in amusement, Yvonne said, "Looks like my ticket out of here had just arrived. Now then, I'll be taking my leave now."

"Like hell you are," Dawn said as Tsukune roared at Yvonne, "In case you haven't noticed, your way is blocked by multiple battles, and there's not enough of your men available to cover your escape. If you want to slink away like the coward you are, then you'll have to fight your way out." Tsukune gave another roar. "...And I think I can predict how successful you'll be at that," Dawn added.

"Hmph," Yvonne scoffed, "So you're trapping me to beat down on me and capture me."

"You're the boss of Team Heart," Dawn retorted, "You have no room to try to argue that you're not the bad guy here."

"...Fine, have it your way," Yvonne said, "I can fight you for at least long enough to buy time for someone to come in and distract you so I can get out of here." Tossing up a Pokéball, Yvonne said, "Go, Talonflame!" After she had sent out a Talonflame, Yvonne said, "Talonflame, use Brave Bird!"

"Tsukune, use Power Gem!" Dawn called out. Tsukune took aim and fired its Power Gem attack right at Yvonne's Talonflame, scoring a direct hit and knocking it out.

Scoffing bitterly, Yvonne was forced to call back her fainted Talonflame before tossing up another Pokéball while calling out, "Go, Gogoat!" After her Gogoat came out, Yvonne called out, "Gogoat, use Leaf Blade!"

"Tsukune, use Flamethrower!" Dawn commanded. The named Palkia loosed a blasting, fiery breath weapon attack right at Gogoat as it charged in. Gogoat was swamped in the fires of Tsukune's Flamethrower attack, and was knocked out as a result.

Annoyed, Yvonne recalled her fainted Gogoat and tossed up a third Pokéball while calling out, "Go, Goodra!" After her Goodra came out, Yvonne called out, "Goodra, use Dragon Pulse!"

"Tsukune, use Spacial Rend!" Dawn commanded. Tsukune was able to conjure and cast its Spacial Rend attack, striking right through Dragon Pulse and going on to slam right into Goodra, knocking it out in a single blow.

Yvonne was getting annoyed, as well as a little bit panicked, as she called back her fainted Goodra. She then tossed up another Pokéball while calling out, "Go, Avalugg!" After her Avalugg came out, Yvonne called out, "Avalugg, use Ice Fang!"

"Tsukune, use Flamethrower!" Dawn commanded.

The slow and bulky Avalugg never had a chance of reaching the named Palkia to strike it. Tsukune loosed a blasting fire breath weapon attack that swamped Avaugg in flames, scoring a whole lot of damage that ended up knocking Avalugg out.

Yvonne called her fainted Avalugg back before tossing up yet another Pokéball while calling out, "Go, Pyroar!" After her Pyroar, which is a male, came out into battle, Yvonne called out, "Pyroar, use Dark Pulse!"

"Tsukune, use Surf!" Dawn commanded.

The named Palkia called up a sweeping wave of waters that rushed towards Pyroar as it tried to cast its Dark Pulse attack. The wave was crashed down upon Pyroar, knocking it out before it even had a chance to carry out its attack.

Yvonne called her fainted Pyroar back before sending out her sixth Pokémon. "Go, Tyrantrum!" Yvonne called out as she sent out a Tyrantrum, "Use Dragon Claw!"

"Tsukune, use Spacial Rend!" Dawn commanded.

Tsukune conjured and cast its Spacial Rend attack, sending it flying right at Tyrantrum who came charging right at the named Palkia, Tyrantrum's claws glowing fiercely with dragonic power. Such a potent attack had stricken Tyrantrum true, knocking it out before it was even halfway to reaching its legendary opponent.

Yvonne, stunned beyond words, recalled her fainted Tyrantrum. Dawn, knowing full well that she was victorious in this battle, took another step forward. "...It's over, Yvonne," Dawn scowled, "You've lost. This is the point where you surrender."

"And what do you think will happen when I surrender, mmm?" Yvonne asked, "What do you think will happen when Team Heart is taken down all over the world? I'll tell you what's going to happen, young lady. Cruelty and discrimination will not only return in full, but it'll do so with a vengeance. The petty and stuck up persons in the world don't like how they're being kept from being cruel, so I can assure you that if Team Heart isn't around to keep them in line, the petty and stuck up persons will immediately return to how they were being before Team Heart came in to put them in line."

"...I actually have an idea on how those people can be kept from their cruel ways," Dawn said.

Scoffing, Yvonne said, "So, you and your companions with legendary Pokémon actually ARE going to threaten the petty and stuck up persons in the world into falling in line with your power taken right from the very lore of the world."

Dawn gently shook her head. "No, using threats and intimidation like that will make my friends and I no better than Team Heart."

"Then enlighten me, oh great and noble messiah," Yvonne said, sarcasm clear in her words, "How is it that you'll get even the cruel and petty people of the world to fall in line?"

"Popular opinion."

Yvonne looked confused by what Dawn had given as an answer. "...Perhaps you need a little more clarification," Dawn said, "It's true, sadly enough, that there's those petty and stuck up persons that you're ranting on about. But it's also true that the vast majority of people in the world aren't like that in the least. Hell, a good number of people have actually benefited from the discrimination free way that Team Heart has ruled its lands."

Looking even more confused, Yvonne said, "And yet you aim to bring down Team Heart, despite how even you can't deny that it has done good."

"Because Team Heart has gone about doing good in entirely the wrong way," Dawn said, "My friends and I will work on bringing about a discrimination free world without the use of the Team Heart method, and we'll use popular opinion to keep the cruel and petty people of the world from acting up while we try to do things the right way."

"And how will this 'popular opinion' be used?" Yvonne asked.

"Like I said," Dawn said, "A lot of people have actually benefited from the discrimination free way that Team Heart has ruled its lands. More than enough to vastly outnumber all of the cruel and petty people of the world. The vast majority of the people will clearly be on board with what my friends and I will be doing, a peaceful method of doing what Team Heart tried to do. Those vast majority folks will not take kindly to the cruel and petty people acting up."

Yvonne gave Dawn a wry look of not believing or trusting her words. "...Pretty words, to be sure," began Yvonne, "But believe you me, it's not going to work. Without superior force ruling as the top power, the cruel and petty people of the world will win out in the end. They'll weasel their way back to where they can rule over others from a spot where they'll be untouchable. They'll relish in being able to spread their cruelty around without fear of reprisal."

Dawn had a grim look of consideration on her face. Obviously, Yvonne had suffered far too much in her past to see anything but applying a twisted vision of how she was treated on the rest of the world as the answer to making sure that no-one would suffer as she did ever again. A part of Dawn actually felt sorry for Yvonne, it's clear she had been far too warped by her past to be reasoned with at least sufficiently enough to be reached.

Dawn was about to speak up, but stopped short when she saw Yvonne take out a small tin that looked as if it contained mints. Yvonne took a mint out, closed the tin, slipped it back into her front right pocket, then she popped the mint she took into her mouth. Dawn was wondering why Yvonne was having a mint, but stopped short when Yvonne began gurgling as white foam came frothing from her mouth.

"A cyanide pill?!" Dawn exclaimed as she rushed over to Yvonne, who by the time Dawn reached her had collapsed onto the ground. As Dawn reached Yvonne, she figured that Yvonne had seen no way to avoid being captured by authorities, so she opted to take her own life so as to avoid being made to answer for what all she had done as the Boss of Team Heart. There was, sadly, no way that Dawn had to save Yvonne's life.

...But a part of Dawn figured that Yvonne didn't want to be saved. Yvonne probably thought that a world where Team Heart isn't the top ruling power would be a world where people like the nobles of Kalos, the wealthy elite of Paldea, bastards like Chandler, oafs like Zed, and all sorts of other not so favorable jerks would be able to act as they pleased, treated others as they pleased, all while they totally got away with it scot free.

Dawn, as she got up from where she was checking the now late Yvonne for a pulse, scowled bitterly at... quite a lot, actually. The fact that Yvonne ultimately got away from being made to answer for her crimes, the fact that she must have been so horribly warped by past trauma that she saw killing herself as a better alternative than continuing to live in a world where she doesn't dictate everything, the fact that there's still a lot of grim work to do.

As some of the Team Heart grunts that were in the area began to take notice of the fact that the Boss of Team Heart was now dead, Dawn reaffirmed her resolve to clean up the mess left behind by the late Yvonne. If there WAS a silver lining to Yvonne's suicide, it was that her being dead would be a rather big blow to the morale of Team Heart as a whole. The Team Heart grunts who saw that she was dead were already losing heart to continue.

But this alone won't be enough to bring Team Heart down once and for all. In fact, some may even rage on, aiming to avenge Yvonne and try to carry out Team Heart's will in her name. But all of the other goodly trainers of the world, much the same as Dawn, were nothing if not tenacious. They all would fight until there was nothing left for them to fight the good fight against, and after that, then and only then would they rest.

Dawn had a sinking feeling that the time of rest was STILL a far way off.

The fighting in the various Team Heart controlled lands around the world still raged on for quite some time, but eventually the side that Dawn and her companions were on began making some considerable and rather notable progress. With word of Yvonne's death getting out, the blow to the morale of Team Heart as a whole could be seen. That morale blow had made a significant impact on Team Heart's ability (or perhaps their will) to fight back.

Kalos, obviously, was the first Team Heart controlled territory taken back from Team Heart. But the other lands under the Team Heart banner also began to be reclaimed. Johto, Hoenn, Unova, Galar, Paldea. Even other areas like the Orange Islands, Salvia's Kingdom, Kitakami, and Orre were also reclaimed by the forces of good. The efforts took a long time, and Team Heart despite losing heart still had a bit of bite left in them. They still didn't go down easy.

...But they went down a lot easier than they would have if they DIDN'T suffer the blow to their morale that came in the form of Yvonne's death.

...

Speaking of, after Kalos had been reclaimed from the Team Heart Empire, Dawn with the other reborn trainers plus James, Meowth, Misty's group (Dawn was surprised to see Misty's group in Kalos), and Professor Sycamore plus his former classmates aside from Minerva (for obvious reasons) searched Yvonne's lab.

It was Elio who came across something that held the answers when his Ribombee made excited noises. Going over, Elio saw that his Ribombee had found a personal journal that Sycamore was able to confirm the contents of which were Yvonne's handwriting. However, as Sycamore read the contents of Yvonne's personal journal, he was shocked by what he was reading.

"Yvonne was... no way..." Sycamore said, looking heartbroken more and more as he read on more and more into Yvonne's personal journal.

Karly, looking curious and a bit worried, said, "You... you okay, Sycamore?"

"We're... gonna need to have DNA tests run on Yvonne's remains just to be sure," Sycamore said, "But I think that we're going to be in for a right nasty surprise." Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Mina all wore confused and mildly concerned looks on their respective faces as they regarded Sycamore as he held Yvonne's personal journal.

...

It was only after half of the Team Heart Empire had been reclaimed by the goodly forces of the world that Dawn and the others got the full details on Yvonne. As it turned out, Yvonne was actually Sycamore's long lost classmate Serena, the geeky and super fat girl from Sycamore's class back in Pokémon Professor school. Learning that had surprised Dawn, her companions, and Sycamore plus all of his peers.

Yvonne had apparently been tormented and warped by the cruel and discriminatory treatment she had received for her appearance back when she was younger that she resolved to take things into her own hands in a mad quest for revenge. She apparently had even influenced certain things into happening in order to further her goal for world domination, which she in her personal journal was claiming was the only way to achieve a discrimination free world.

The last entry in Yvonne's personal journal apparently showed that Yvonne was not entirely happy with the failed invasion against Sinnoh, despite the overwhelming advantage that Team Heart had gone in with. But then again, many could see Sinnoh's victory against Team Heart as the turning point in the war between Team Heart and the rest of the world. Dawn, figuring that it would be of some historical significance, figured to keep Yvonne's personal journal.

"...So Yvonne... no... our old classmate Serena," Will said, "...She was just as tormented by all of the bastards decrying her over her weight as all other persons in Kalos who are given harsh treatment over living larger than life. The only difference is that our old peer... decided to go down as dark of a path as possible to rectify the issue."

"She was still cute, fat or not," Karly said, looking said, "I still never got to have sex with her."

"Among Orreians, such singling out of a person like the treatment Yvonne got is highly distasteful," Lor'aye scowled, "It doesn't change the fact that Yvonne had gone way to far, nor does it forgive said actions, but it does provide a little bit of understanding to what all she had done, what all had been driving her to have done what she did."

Gabe was looking down, a grim look of consideration on his face, before he looked up and turned to address Kenny. "...You said that you'd discuss it with the others to come up with a plan to bring about a discrimination free world without using the Team Heart method, Kenny," Gabe said, "Were you serious when you said that?"

Nodding once, Kenny replied, "I am."

"I was thinking about having similar discussions with Kenny, Trip, and Mina once everything was settled against Team Heart," Dawn said, "I also believe a world free from discrimination would be a nice world to live in."

"But how will we go about doing it?" Trip asked.

Shrugging, Kenny said, "I was figuring that we can just go around preaching the word. I mean, we ARE big name heroes, we've all played big parts in the fight against Team Heart. I'm certain that a lot of people would be willing to listen to us."

"There's also how there's a LOT of people who actually benefited from how Team Heart had put into effect laws to outright outlaw discrimination," Dawn said, "Those people who benefited from the discrimination free way that Team Heart ruled are bound to be on board with a method that still has a discrimination free way of things being run, but without the iron fisted tyrannical dictator style rule of the Team Heart Empire."

Looking curious, Trip said, "But how will we deal with the stubborn people who are bound to not only not wanna change, but double down on being jerks?"

Shrugging, Mina said, "You guys have a bunch of legendary Pokémon, many of them being big name ones. Use those to deal with the jerks."

"If we did that, then how would we be any better or different than Team Heart?" Dawn replied. With a gentle shake of her head, Dawn went on, "No, we're going to do the idea Kenny suggested, going all around and peacefully preaching the word of bringing about a discrimination free world. That will be received far better by the people than if we forced things like how Team Heart had done."

Gesturing to Dawn, Mina asked, "Well what about people like Chandler and Zed? What about all of the Celestial Dragon kind of people like Kalosian nobles and Paldean wealthy elite? Those guys will never change their ways no matter what."

Dawn had an amused smirk, one letting off hints of devious mischief, on her face as she replied, "Oh, I have a working idea in mind to deal with those people. Best part is that it won't involve doing any form of threat or physical violence against them."

Folding his arms over his chest, Trip said, "Hey, since Team Heart is close to being brought down wholly and for good, what are we gonna do about Zed and his group of idiots? I mean, they aren't just gonna be let off the hook for what all crap they've pulled, are they?"

Scoffing, Kenny said, "Oh please. Given what all had been pulled by Zed and other bastards like Chandler, Haruka, and Carmine, there's no way that they're all gonna be given a free pass out of the punishment that they respectively deserve."

As it turned out, after Team Heart was taken down wholly and for good, all members of Eric's Company were given full pardons for what all standing offences they respectively had against them, giving all of them clean slates to work with legally speaking. This was decided by a gathering of the heads of the government of the various territories of the world, who recognized that Eric and his fellows were allies in the fight against Team Heart.

As such, they were recognized as heroes. ...Despite how most of them don't deserve it.

This, naturally, pissed off a LOT of people. The reborn trainers aside, many notable persons from the various regions were also pissed off at how ALL of Eric's Company was given a free pass out of having to deal with the consequences of their actions. Dawn would excuse it for Silver and Faba, as well as Minoru who WAS behaving himself. Hell, Dawn would even be willing to grant some leniency towards Yoshitsugu, given he's been reasonable.

But Dawn was NOT so lenient towards Haruka, Carmine, Eric, Chandler, and Zed. To make matters worse, some of the persons Dawn wouldn't be lenient with were milking being karma houdinies for all it was worth. Eric, for example, actually went to visit Marshall, Coryn, and Ken while they were all in prison, solely to taunt them over how he 'won' and that the three of them had 'lost'. Coryn's angry screams of frustration were music to Eric's ears.

Zed was able to weasel his way into a position of high authority within the military command of Salvia's Kingdom, very few people in the kingdom actually outranked him. Of course, Salvia was still the top dog in her kingdom, a fact that was made VERY clear to Zed. As a side note, Salvia knighted all four of the reborn trainers for their efforts in helping to bring down the Team Heart Empire. It was a knighting event everyone in the kingdom came to see.

With Kitakami among the many lands freed after Team Heart was taken down, Carmine returned to her beloved homeland alongside her grandparents and younger brother Kieran. Granted, things did get a bit testy when Carmine went on a tangent against Kieran and Ogrepon attacked Carmine for it, but Carmine's grandpa was able to get things to settle back down. Carmine then returned to trainer school in Driftveil City, pardoned of all offences.

Yoshitsugu and Haruka returned to their home region of Unova, which for the longest time had been the heart of an empire that at its peak ruled over half of the world. There were still signs here and there that Unova was going to take AGES to recover. To make things worse, a good number of the Unovan people actually seemed to prefer how Team Heart had run things. Haruka also learned that her parents and the fiance they were forcing her to marry were all killed, but she didn't care.

Silver, Faba, and Minoru all remained within Sinnoh with Eric, helping him run his business interests in the region since he had set up shop there after fleeing from Alola. They remained with him mainly due to lacking any idea on where else to go or what else to do. Dawn, when she heard of this, had a few ideas on what to do to help them. Dawn didn't feel for most of the collective that is Eric's group, but she did feel for Silver, Faba, and even Minoru.

Chandler apparently got right back to where he felt comfortable in the Hoenn region, in charge of a major company with everyone answering to him. His blanket pardon and hero status made him more or less untouchable to all but a very select few persons within Hoenn. Luckily, Chandler's own nephew Brendan was one such person able to defy Chandler, and given that he's the Champion of Hoenn, Brendan was very much beloved by the Hoenn people.

That was another thing. The captured regional Champions sent to invade Sinnoh were eventually returned to their home regions. One Champion returned to his home region but he WASN'T captured is Elio, as he plus Sophocles, Lana, Selene, and Misty were all in Kalos on a trip when the Kalosian rebellion started. Given that the Kalosian people started being fatphobic pretty much the moment that Team Heart rule in the region was wholly taken down, Elio and company had no reason to stay.

Seeing the scornful treatment that Sophocles and Lana got in Kalos solely due to both of them living larger than life, despite how they had risked their necks for the region, made Dawn, Trip, Mina, and Kenny want to get cracking on the Zero Discrimination Plan all the more. The people of Kalos, of the entire world, need to know who ALL of the heroes are, they need to appreciate ALL of them. It was going to be a rather difficult undertaking.

...But Dawn and the others were nothing if not ready to roll with the punches.

...

The eleven other flying ships that were under Dawn's command during the Kalosian rebellion were returned to Salvia's Kingdom, although they were kept and maintained at a shipyard in the kingdom. Use of the ships was strictly off limits as per the word of Salvia, the ruling monarch. Salvia was wanting to maintain them in case Dawn ever needed a fleet of flying ships again. Even Zed wasn't allowed to use them as he pleased.

Due to peace returning to the world, Salvia and Freesia left the crew of The Big Beauty. Victor also left, as he and his family, all of both sides having long and proud histories of serving nobility and royalty, went to Salvia's Kingdom to serve under her. Paul had also left the crew; with his older brother Reggie now free and their lives being able to return to normal, Paul wanted to focus on trying to repair the damage his and Reggie's lives had taken due to Team Heart.

But whereas members were leaving the crew of The Big Beauty, a new member had also joined it. In a move that both surprised and didn't surprise Dawn, Jessie ended up joining the crew of The Big Beauty, something of a probation deal while under some form of house arrest. James and Meowth were able to convince her to play nice, she gave up some useful info on Team Heart. It would seem that some friendships could survive anything.

Granted, Jessie joining the crew was met with mix reactions, but Dawn who was wanting to give James and Meowth the benefit of the doubt got the crew to settle down. Also, Dawn said that she as well as Trip, Kenny, and Mina can turn Jessie's face into a viscous red paste if she acts up, or take her to Kanto so Ash could do so instead if Jessie acts up.

"Speaking of going to various regions," Dawn said to the crew during a crew meeting, "That's what we're going to do next. We're going to be traveling from region to region to preach a non-Team Heart method of attaining a discrimination free world."

Shrugging, Jessie asked, "And how do you plan to do that, twerp? Intimidate everyone into being nice by using your big name scary Pokémon?"

"Mina suggested words to that effect, and I shot them down," Dawn said, "Because that would make us no different from Team Heart. Believe it or not crew, but a lot of people in the world actually like the idea of a discrimination free world. If we preach about bringing one to them without the nasty business that Team Heart used to bring it about, we should be able to get a lot of people on board with the idea."

"And if some folks refuse to not discriminate no matter what?" Jessie asked.

Dawn gave her knowing, devious smirk. "Oh, I have a method that will not only deal with those kinds of people sufficiently, but it won't even involve threatening anybody with legendary Pokémon."

Jessie perked up a bit upon seeing Dawn's smirk, picking up the hints in her tone. "...Well now twerp, I think that I may actually like working aboard your flying ship after all," Jessie said, returning Dawn's smirk with a smirk of her own. Thus was how The Big Beauty flew off into the horizon, seeking out the next big adventure that its crew was about to undertake.

END, CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE

Author's notes;

This chapter sees things in Kalos come to an end, where Dawn defeats Yvonne in battle. However, before she could be captured, Yvonne takes a cyanide pill to avoid being made to pay for what all she had done. Team Heart soon falls all over the world, allowing peace and freedom to return to all of the people as a whole.

But not everything is peachy keen, and all of Eric's Group gets full pardons and are all recognized as heroes. All (surviving) members of Team Heart are captured and taken prisoner, although Jessie is able to get some sort of deal where she is under a sort of house arrest under Dawn's supervision and responsibility. For the time being at least.

Additionally, a few people actually leave the crew of The Big Beauty, their personal quests all having been fulfilled. More may end up joining the crew later, I don't know. But what I do know is that the next chapter will kick off the last arc of the story, where Dawn and friends begin the quest to bring about a discrimination free world without using the Team Heart method.

How it will go is anyone's guess, but it will be interesting. Things will pick up from here in the next chapter, which is the beginning of the final arc of the story, which is called the Final Arc. ...Not very creative, I know. But I am trying. Anyway, I will see you all later. Until then, take care.
