"Professor tell me more about the Unova region again!" Ash said excitedly.
We find our intrepid hero on a plane heading towards the Unova Region far off from anywhere he'd journeyed before. Accompanying him is the esteemed Professor Oak, as well as Ash's Mother, Delia, and her Mr Mime, Mimey.
"Pika Pi!" Pikachu said in the same energy as Ash.
And of course who could forget his trusted partner, Pikachu.
"Well Ash, the Unova region is home to many Pokemon that you'll find nowhere in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn or even Sinnoh." Professor Oak explained. "In fact my colleagues have recorded over 150 unique species that originated from this very region."
"Woah! That's as many as you recorded originating in Kanto!" Ash said excitedly.
"Precisely my young lad, and that research is part of why I was invited to come meet with them." Professor Oak said. "Professor Juniper has begun studying more into the ancient mysteries of her region and has uncovered some shocking information about possibly legendary dragon type Pokemon." Professor Oak said.
A few rows back
"Did you hear that Jess? Legendary dragon Pokemon." James said.
"If we can get that Professor Juniper's research and send it to the boss, we can kick that Team Plasma out of Unova before they even know what hit them!" Jessie said excitedly.
"And just think of the promotions we'll get for doing such great work." Meowth said.
"Though there is one slight problem with our plan." James sighed. "With the twerp heading there as well, we'll surely run into him and his Pikachu before we can get away with the documents."
Flashback to Team Rocket HQ
"I'm sending you three on a very important mission." Giovanni said from his chair. "A group known as Team Plasma has begun causing trouble in the far off Unova Region, I want you to show them the true might of Team Rocket."
"You can count on us sir!" Jessie said with a salute.
"However your Pokemon will mark you as outsiders, so I need you to turn them in now." Giovanni said, a tray appearing from his desk.
"Of course sir." James said, placing Carnivine and Mime Jrs Pokeballs on the tray.
"You do know what's best after all." Jessie said, adding Seviper, Yanmega, and Wobbuffet's Pokeballs.
'Glad he ain't asking for me too." Meowth thought to himself.
End of flashback
"Without our Pokemon the twerp spells trouble." James pointed out.
"So we kidnap Pikachu for a bundle deal, we just deal with the twerp before he can get inside!" Meowth said smugly.
A few hours later
"Don't go far Ash, we still need to ride with Professor Oak to the Pokemon lab." Delia reminded.
"I won't go far Mom, I promise!" Ash said, running towards the docks with Pikachu hot on his heels.
"Now's our chance, he's all alone, let's move!" Jessie said.
"Mmmmm! Smell that fresh air!" Ash cheered, looking out over the horizon. "What do you think buddy, how's it feel?"
"Pika!" Pikachu cheered, feeling the salty sea breeze on his fur, sparks coming from his cheeks.
"What is it Pikachu?" Ash said, looking up before noticing a storm cloud had quickly rolled in. "We should get back to Mom and the professor, that looks like a rain cloud.
"Meowth what is that?!" Jessie demanded seeing the storm cloud directly over Ash and Pikachu.
"Delia did you see where Ash ran off to? I have our car." Professor Oak said before turning to see a blue bolt of lightning shoot right down from the storm cloud onto Ash and Pikachu!
"Ash!" Delia screamed.
A few seconds earlier
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!" Ash called out in the Knick of time as Pikachu pushed back against the bolt of electricity but to no avail as it destroyed the dock around them in a blast.
"The Twerp!" Team Rocket exclaimed.
"My baby!" Delia cried.
"You three!" Professor Oak said angrily recognizing the trio. "Dragonite block their path!"
Team Rocket gulped seeing the pseudo legendary dragon block their only safe exit.
"You three it is always you three, you have five seconds to start explaining what you did before I get really angry!" Professor Oak demanded.
"For once we didn't do anything honest!" James said defensively.
"Yeah, we was trying to kidnap Pikachu not send him flying." Meowth said.
"And why should we believe you! You've been after my boys since they started their journey!" Delia said distraughtly.
"Look we might be kidnappers, crooks, criminals, even thieves, but even we wouldn't kill him!" Jessie argued.
"Hold on a second, you said sent flying, what do you mean?" Professor Oak asked, looking at Meowth.
"Look at the dock doc, it's in rubble but it ain't gone, even if the twerp was dead his body we would've seen something, bubbles or a shadow this water ain't that deep." Meowth said. "They went blasting off, don't know where, don't know how, but they did."
"Well you're still coming with us! You deserve to be locked up!" Delia said angrily.
"Now hold on we haven't done anything wrong." Meowth reminded.
"That doesn't get rid of the fact you're wanted criminals back in Kanto, and our best lead to finding Ash." Professor Oak reminded.
"Forget it, none of crimes can be held here, and we aren't in the business of helping find the twerp, besides we've got more important things to take care of." Jessie said before the three rushed off.
"Oh Ash, wherever you are, please be okay." Delia said, looking up at the clear skies.
Elsewhere in Unova
"Mmm, morning Lillipup." A girl with long brown hair said, petting the normal type that was asleep on her bed. "Another nice and peaceful day right?"
"Bwarp!" The Lillipup barked in response.
The girl turned out of her bed, opening her blinds looking at the garden and small pond outside.
"I've got a good feeling about today Lillipup." The girl said, opening her window.
CRASH
The girl turned around to see her bedroom in ruins, the roof caved in and a crater in the center laid a boy with black hair and a yellow Pokemon clutching a black stone.
"MAAAAAAAAAAAHM!" The girl screamed in terror.
"Grrrrr." Lillipup growled looking at the two strangers.
