Maeglin finally broke, wanting to know what was going on. Steeling himself, he decided to visit Egalmoth while Rog was absent, working overtime in the forges.

"You do not make many social calls." The older Lord greeted him, but invited him inside anyway.

"I'm trying to branch out." He followed him to the lounge. "I mean, I do hear the jokes about me taking my House-name literally."

"You're not alone in that." Egalmoth pointed out kindly, referencing plenty other jokes that had passed across the council-table with regularity.

"True, but..." Aredhel's son shrugged lightly, having grown more comfortable around his seniors since he'd arrived. "Don't want to end up as the Feanor of this family."

The Lord of the Heavenly Arch laughed at that. "Touché. Two of those are plenty, yes." The wine was excellent as they got comfortable. "So this is a social visit?"

"Mostly." He admitted, taking another sip. "There's something I want to ask."

"Without Rog, I suspect?"

"Without Rog." He respected the older smith, but also mildly feared him. "I saw you in the gardens, a few times." He admitted, hoping the other would not ask for specifics on what he saw. He still sometimes had flashbacks.

"Ah." There was an interesting shift in the other Lord. "I suspect during our anniversaries?"

"Yep." He thanked every Power in existence there had been no question about specifics. "I... what happened there?"

"And here I figured we'd manage to keep it to the forest well enough, I apologize." Well, that at least made the consent more obvious. "I suppose the easiest way to explain it is by saying there are different tastes in lovemaking, just like there are in food." The

darker-skinned Lord took a gulp from his wine. "Some people like something with a more intense taste than others. Rog jokingly does compare his tastes in the matter to lean more towards the spicy."

"But how... does that work? It is well known that elves can die when taken violently?"

"A common misconception, certainly enough that Turgon once threw his full weight on the question. It's taken against their will." Egalmoth countered softly. "Rog takes me... roughly, but he never does something I do not allow. That's the pertinent difference."

"So..." He was going to take this chance of openness, though he wondered if others had just not asked, or if there was something special about him that made it so. "Does that mean... your tastes also...?"

"Good grief, no." Egalmoth laughed again, softer this time. "No, but I do love him, so I am willing to indulge him at times."

"Special occasions, I guess." That made sense. He smiled faintly at the elf opposite him. "Thanks for clearing that up."
