Chapter Six

July 3rd, 2006

When we show up at the arena the next week for Raw we 're greeted by Coach and a bunch of security guards. After a second of them staring us down and not letting us pass Hunter looks at us and then back at Coach.

" You want to uh... Get out of the way so we can go to work? "

Coach smirks. " You know guys I would love to I really would... but you see HHH, Shawn Michael's, Andri, and... Adri's sister, it's a beautiful night! But unfortunately for you four, it will be a very short night. Apparently, you haven't been reading . "

Hunter looks confused. " Dot what? I don't even know how to turn on a computer Coach. Do you? " He asks Shawn who looks just as lost.

I glance over at Arlette who is scrolling the website as we speak. " It says that D Generation X is banned from the building and will not be competing tonight. " She tells us rolling her eyes.

There are a string of " whats " and " hows " before one of us can speak properly.

" He banned us from the building? " Shawn says in his own funny way. " What did we ever do to him?! "

" Yeah! " Hunter, Arlette, and I say together.

Shawn's getting a little excited. " Man! We're already here! "

" Yeah! " We all say again.

" What are we gonna do now to occupy our time? " I ask in mock anger. As if they can actually stop DX.

I look at Hunter in mischief and he grins back at me.

" DX I'm gonna need you to leave now. " Coach tells us.

Hunter nods with the same grin. " No problem. "

" So what are we gonna do now? " Shawn asks.

I get out my cell and grin. " Just leave it up to me. "

In twenty minutes I have twenty pounds of meat delivered along with a grille. I then take Arlette around to find people who're turned away because the show was sold out. We invite them all to the DX BBQ free of charge. Mark, AKA The Undertaker, is doing me a solid by sending out a few cameramen so the fans will know that we'll out here all night.

When we get to the little tent that has been set up I see that Hunter and Shawn have gotten beer and water ready inside of coolers. I'm not a big drinker and Hunter never liked it. Plus Shawn quit a long time ago. It was still nice of them to get some for the fans that are of age.

Looking over towards the grille I see Shawn and Arlette laughing. A smile creeps on my face as I watch them. I'm glad they're getting along so good. It's great for her to have strong role models in her life. Hunter comes up to me and puts his arm around my shoulders.

" You did good sis. I'm impressed. I swear you could run the world by yourself. " He says making me laugh.

" It sure would be a better place if I was in charge. Only, and I do mean only if my Kliq brothers were by my side. " I tell him.

When the cameras show up I get Arlette away from the shot. I know Hunter is going to do something wild and as her guardian, I need to shield her from whatever it so we take a walk.

" So how do you like it? Being on the road? " I ask.

She smiles. " I love it. I don't know why you left. "

I laugh. " I left because you needed me more than the WWE did. "

Arlette stops dead in her tracks. " You left because of me? "

" Oh sweetie I'm not blaming you for anything, I just wanted to be there for you during what I know was a hard time for you. " I said quickly seeing that she looks guilty. " I wouldn't change my decision for anything. "

She still looks a little down and that wasn't my intention.

Luckily, Shawn caught up to us and grins. " Arly? Have you ever been in the production truck? "

Before she can answer he was leading us over. Once we're inside I see everything that goes into making the show work. It's incredible really. They start messing with Vince, who is giving himself a pep talk in the bathroom. We see Coach running in and letting him know that we're in control of the show now.

A few moments later Vince comes out to the ring. He spouts some things about us degenerates and I mostly tune him out while trying to figure out the best way to humiliate the boss. That is until he sends Coach out to get us. Shawn opens the door with a shove that sends Coach flying. That takes care of that.

" Oh, that's really funny. Let me tell you something DX it won't be funny on a certain date. I got your ticket to punch alright? And that ticket is gonna be punched at the Saturday night main event. A little show NBC has and the WWE is gonna be in Dallas Texas on the fifteenth of July. Damn right! I said Dallas Texas " Vince says as we watch uninterested.

" It gets better for DX because on that night it's gonna be HHH and Shawn Michaels against the Spirit Squad but this time it's gonna be an elimination match. Which means that all the Spirit Squad has to do is eliminate one member of DX and the other one is fair game. Oh and Andri?

Don't think I forgot about DX's leading lady. You will be going up against Mickie James! Let's see if she can't sort you out... So uh, what's your reaction to that DX? "

We all look at each other and laugh. Hunter finds the laughing crowd button and pushes it. Vince does not like that one bit. He goes on for a little while longer before begging us to play his music so he can leave.

Once we leave the control truck I go into focus mode. The Bella twins always have a trick up their sleeves and I'm not going to be the deer caught in the headlights.

" What's wrong, sissy? " Arlette asks me.

I look at her and grin maniacally. " Just planning Bella twin annihilation. Wanna help? "

After he left the ring, Vince heads straight for his limo. I knew he would after we were done so I put a little surprise in there for him. As soon as his driver goes to get in fireworks start going off out of the sunroof. The driver hurries back to the side door and opens it, spilling Vince out. He's covered in soot and trying to get the smoke from the fireworks out of his lungs.

I light sparklers for Hunter, Shawn, Arlette, and I. We walk up to him as he lay on the ground looking more broken than he has in a long time.

" Too bad you banned us from the building huh? " Shawn says.

Hunter chuckle. " Yeah, maybe next week you'll let us in. "

" Happy fourth of July Vince. " Arly says making us laugh.

When we get to the next city I book conjoined rooms for Arly and I. I love her but I can't deal with her morning bird status. Waking up at five A.M. is not ideal for someone that takes their sleep seriously. Especially on days like today when I have to get up early.

We've been doing meet and greets all day much to her excitement though. Getting the autographs of her favorite wrestlers from both shows is like candy to a kid. I haven't done one of these in years and I'm a little rusty on my people skills but I make due.

A man in a Bret Hart shirt steps up and wants to take a picture with me. Smiling I head up to him and put my arm around his waist for the shot. Just as the photography presses the button the guys slips his hands down to my ass and cups it. I push him away and Shawn is on him in seconds...

" Woah hands of the merch! " He says wedging himself in front of me.

The merch? I'll slap him.

" My apologies I've just never met a woman so beautiful. " The man says in his British accent.

The man's compliment causes Shawn to become noticeably attitudinal. " Next time just take the picture. Don't try to cop a feel. " He says pushing him back.

Oh for the love of God. " Okay let's keep the line moving, please. "

Sending a nasty glare Shawn's way I go back to taking pictures with our adoring fans. All the while having that encounter in the back of my mind.

" Very subtle Sexy Boy. " I hear Hunter rib when he's back in his spot with his tail between his legs.

Shaking my head I try to get back into the meet and greet spirit. I just can't help but feel nostalgia creeping up. I haven't seen him act like that since... Oh well, no time to dwell on it. I'll give him hell later.

" I owe you a beat down for calling me merchandise Michaels. " I say the second we get back to the hotel and away from Hunter and Arly.

Sighing he says, " Chloe I said I was sorry in the car. I didn't mean it like that. You know I don't think of you like that. "

" Then act like it! Whether I like it or not the people look at the brainless men to see how to treat the women in this industry. You have to set an example. " I say for the millionth time in my career.

I have to admit that I'm being kind of a bitch... But I didn't get to where I am by being the nicest person. If you give someone an inch they will take a mile. Shawn has changed but he still has his moments.

With the yuck, diva's division, I need to maintain the league in which I've always been in by myself. If I don't want the men in the locker room treating me like that then my partners need to set the example for them. Just as I need to set an example for the young women in this company.

Shawn comes up and put his hands on my shoulders. " Chloe I hear you. We haven't been this close in a long time and I slipped up. " He says slowly before taking a step away in frustration. " I'm just getting used to being around you without feeling like a total idiot! I don't even know how you can stand to be around me. "

I take a really good look at the man before me and for the first time I see something that he has hidden very well. Guilt.

Before I can say anything he heads snaps back towards me with fire in his eyes. " I know you're not mine... I just can't help it when I feel like some guy is touching you when I can't, there I said it! "

Wait-

A/N: So are you guys liking these flashbacks? Sometimes I read a story and I feel like they have too many of them. I just really love taking it back to my favorite wrestling era.
