Chapter 2...

Parappa couldn't believe his eyes when he saw his reflection, he was at a loss for words, but only for a moment when he said...

"No... this can't be real."

"If it wasn't, i wouldn't be here, would i?" Pariah said snarkily. "That bitch Charlotte is to blame for this!"

"Charlotte? Who's she?" asked Parappa.

"That woman you saw before you blacked out is Lucifer's daughter." Pariah answered Parappa's question. Having heard that Parappa begin to remember...

(Flashback)

"What i'm doing is for the good of all that exists. You turned your back on the prophecy you were supposed to fulfill! You killed my friends and try to kill my father and take over hell! I will NOT allow you to doom us all and let the Dark Devourer plunge the universe into eternal timeless darkness!" was the words of Charlie Morningstar as she raises both her arms, levitating both Parappa and Pariah in the air as she recites an incantation. The bodies of both dogs begin to glow, and the soul of the hellhound is forcefully extracted from his body as it dissipated and began to enter Parappa's body, the soul merging process was painful for Parappa as he soon passed out. Once the ritual was complete, Charlie said...

"You have one chance to make things right, don't squander it."

The Timekeeper raises his arm and casted a spell that sent Parappa back home.

(End of Flashback)

"Oh my god, did she...?"

"She merged my soul into yours." Pariah cut Parappa off. "I'm a part of you now. No surprise there, since i was you once."

"But why?" asked Parappa.

"Like Charlie said, i refuse to accept my fate in fulfilling that stupid prophecy of theirs." Pariah answered. "Fuck that shit, i was destined for more than being a sacrificial lamb, or in this case, dog. i wanted to control everything, be a better ruler than Lucifer, but better yet... be a god. but there's always gonna be nosy motherfuckers like him who always get in my way. If i'm gonna to fulfill my own destiny, i need YOUR body. Once i take over, i'm gonna settle some unfinished business, starting with that goody two-shoe abomination."

The hellhound inside Parappa tries to take over, but somehow, nothing happens. Pariah growls and cursed...

"Damn it! Nothing's working."

"She must have removed your powers." said Parappa.

"And planted them onto you." Pariah corrected.

"What?" Parappa asked.

"I remember reading the soul merge spell in one of Mama Voodoo's books, the spell implanted my powers into you, when my soul was merged into yours." Pariah said more specifically. "The Morningstars are the only demons in hell powerful enough to know this spell. Since i'm stuck inside you, i can't do anything, the only way i can take control is..."

Parappa's bedroom door opens, revealing Parappa's little sister, Pinto who is holding a glass of water, her companion Uee is a mysterious creature dwelling inside her lunch box. Pinto said...

"Uh, Parappa? Who are you talking to?"

"Oh hi, Pinto." Parappa greeted his sister.

"Pinto?" Pariah's voice muttered upon making eye contact with Pinto.

"I was practicing for my date with Sunny." Parappa told a lie.

Pinto shooked her head, and said...

"I don't recall you hearing two setting up a date, you big weirdo."

Parappa chuckled and said... "You got me there."

"Oh, my dog, it's really her!" Pariah said with astonishment.

"Listen, Dad wanted you to take your medicine before you go to bed." Pinto reminded her brother as she gave him the glass of water.

"Oh, okay, thanks." Parappa thanked his sister as Uee moved close to him and handed him a pill. Parappa goes to place the pill and the glass of water on his nightstand.

"Hey, you! Hug her! Hug her!" Pariah commanded but Parappa ignored the hellhound, but without warning, he felt a kick to his shin, and he yelped in pain. Parappa turned around and saw Pinto with an angry face, he snapped at her...

"What the hell, Pinto?!"

"I had a bad dream thanks to you, you jerk!" Pinto barked back as she kicked him in the shin again.

"What? I gave you a nightmare?" Parappa asked and Pinto nodded as she hugs him.

"I suppose i deserved that after what i did." said Pariah.

"I'm really sorry, baby sis." Parappa apologized before asking... "What happened in your dream?"

"You turned into a monster and did some really bad..." Pinto tried to continue but couldn't, she buried her face into her brother's chest and sobbed. Parappa stroked Pinto's hair and told her...

"Don't worry, Pinto, it'll be alright. I won't turn into a monster, i don't plan on being one... ever."

"You promise?" Pinto asked.

"Yes, i promise." Parappa gives his sister his word as he kneels down and hugs her.

A short time later, Parappa was asleep in his bed with Pinto next to him clutching onto him as she sleeps. Parappa soon heard Pariah's voice...

"I remember promising my baby sister the same thing, but i broke it... I really AM a monster. I'm so sorry, Pinto."

Parappa opened his eyes and found himself in some kind of platform covered by a glass dome in the middle of deep space, in front of him is the mysterious Timekeeper donning a cloak. The being was gazing at the view, but as soon as Parappa moved closer to him, the Timekeeper said...

"You have seen the darkness in your vision, do you not?"

"You know about it?" Parappa asked.

"It was written in your tome, deep within the Archives of Time, where all of history's events were recorded. Long have time pass without care, but sadly, time itself... may end. The darkness you have seen is a living shadow, it feeds on the essence of the inhabitants that perish in both heaven and hell, its strength grows on mankind's self-destruction, it is called the Dark Devourer. The ancients fear that one day, the Dark Devourer will become too powerful and will consume all life in its path until there is nothing left in which time and reality will follow. An ancient order of angels and demons called the Watchers of the Balance, dedicated to ensuring the maintenance of the balance between good and evil, imprisoned this living shadow in a powerful seal after a bloody and costly battle. But time betrayed them as the seal grows weaker with each passing day and soon it will escape and plunge the universe in eternal darkness, but... hope may yet light the way to salvation. The prophecy foretold of a union between an Alpha Hellhound and an Omega Purger, merged into a powerful entity, one that will destroy the Dark Devourer forevermore."

"What is all this got to do with me?" Parappa asked.

"A good question, young rapper." said the Timekeeper. "You have been given a chance to undo the foul deed that has turned you into the monster you have seen on that fateful day, all i will say that the answer lies within both yourselves."

And with that, the timekeeper and the platform begin fading away and Parappa himself begins floating away into the stars until he wakes up from his dream to the sound of his alarm clock and Pinto's groaning, he turns it off and climbs out of his bed just in time for Pinto to awake.

"The answer lies within both yourselves." Were the Timekeeper's words that left Parappa lost in his thoughts for a bit until Pinto said...

"Uh, big brother? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just thinking." Parappa replied.

"Whatever that dream was, it was unlike anything i seen before." Parappa continued his tale. "Frankly, i had no idea what i did to become that demon i faced in that contest, but it must have been worse than the other times i screwed up. Afterward, i went on with my life for a few months, and thank God i haven't heard anything from my evil self, not that i cared, there's nothing he can do while he's stuck inside me, but i didn't know his moment came one day when my mom was called in to an emergency."

That day happen when Parappa was walking home from work at Techtom's game store when he stopped for a moment and sensed something was wrong. Suddenly, a vision appears in front of his eyes, the vision shows his mother in a burning building rescuing a young bunny boy when a mysterious silhouette sneaks up behind her and pointed a gun at her head. The vision disappears and Parappa gasped and uttered...

"Mom!"

Parappa races off using his sense of smell to lead him to the fire, he reaches to the scene in time to see his mom climbing fire truck's ladder and into an open window.

"Mom, wait!" Parappa called out but her mother was already inside the burning building. "Damnit!"

Before Parappa can follow his mom, someone stopped him by grabbing his arm, he turned to see a small sized robed figure, it placed a strange knife on his hand, and then said..."

"Take this, it will slay the demons." The voice sounded like a girl. Parappa looks at the knife, it appears to be angelic, he looked up just to notice the robed stranger has vanished, he couldn't think about it right now as he puts the knife in his pocket and goes to climbs up the ladder ignoring the firefighters' calls and goes inside the burning building, inside he frantically looks around for his mother as he searches for her while avoiding the flames and other hazards, he eventually spots her just in time as saving the boy that was trapped, he was about to approach her when he was felt a smack and was knocked aside, he quickly recovers and looks up to see a ratman like demon pulling out a pistol toward his mother's head. Parappa got on his feet, takes out the knife and charges at him from behind, catching the sinner by surprise as he stabs him several times in the back with the holy blade until he eventually dies. Mrs. Rappa turns around with the scared bunny boy in her arms and saw her son, she said...

"Parappa? What are you doing here?"

Both mother and son feel the building's foundation collapsing.

"Never mind that, we have to get out of here." said Mrs. Rappa as she and her son take their leave with the scared bunny boy in tow, but their exit is blocked off by a male gorilla sinner demon carrying a big battleaxe who said to Parappa with a mobster's accent...

"Big mistake, you little runt."

Parappa dodges the big ape's swings while his mom takes the bunny boy to safety while the goon is distracted. Parappa dodged another swing of the big ape's axe as he slams it to ground and gets it stuck, Parappa tries to slash at the gorilla, but he got smacked by the fiend's fist and was flung to a wall dropping his knife in the process, Parappa quickly recovers and looks up to see the male gorilla approaching him, he gets up and about to karate kick him when he was grabbed by the hired goon and just when the primate sinner demon was about to break his body, he feels a sharp pain, and then another and another, Parappa sees it was his mom stabbing the demon with the knife he dropped, the repeated stabbings forced the sinner to drop Parappa as his mom said to him...

"Nobody hurts my son!" Mrs. Rappa then said to Parappa... "Hurry! Get out of here!"

"No, i can't leave without you!" Parappa said to his mom.

The gorilla violently shakes his body around trying to throw the firefighter off as he slams his fists repeatedly to the ground.

"No time! Go, now!"

Parappa was about to plead with her, when he feels the ground creaking and breaking, he nodded at her and quickly escapes the burning building just in time for the floors to collapse sending both assailants falling. Outside, Parappa watched the firefighters put out the flames, hoping his mom would get out safely, a few hours later, the fire was extinguished, and Chief Puddle and his colleagues goes inside to search for their coworker, after a couple of minutes, they came out with a charred corpse, Parappa got closely to look at the body and that's when a grieving Chief Puddle said...

"It's your mom, Parappa, she's dead. I'm... I'm really sorry."

"No..." Parappa mumbled as he starts to break down, tears begin to well from his eyes as he runs away grieving. Moments later he was sitting on the ground in an alleyway sobbing, he took his hat off and threw it across the wall. When the tears ran out, the sadness slowly begins turning into a new emotion: Anger. Parappa can feel the evil inside him starting to overwhelm him, he can feel a burning sensation as red magical flames engulf him and the sound of howling echo into the sky. The sound was heard by a few pedestrians, but more importantly, PJ Berri who was nearby eating a chocolate bar, he walks toward the alleyway and find its empty, the bear's eyes soon turn toward Parappa's signature orange beanie cap that was lying on the ground in which he walks towards it and picks it up.

The sun was setting as we go to an empty warehouse run by some shady men. One of them, a male meerkat wearing a suit is in the office winding up an antique Graphophone and then pressing a button that activates it, soon, a woman's voice spoke out from the device...

"Make it good."

"Vinnie and Pete got the job done, but they didn't make it out." The meerkat man reported. "Someone must have wasted them."

"Must be Mama Voodoo's cronies." said the mysterious woman. "That's the last time she fucks up my operations, Bring me the heads of every one of her minions. It's time I show her..."

The conversation was cut off by the sound of a window breaking.

"What the fuck?!" The meerkat exclaims.

"What? What is it?" asked the woman over the Graphophone.

The meerkat criminal soon hears his coworkers shouting and gunshots outside the office, he then picks up his pistol on the desk and said on the Graphophone. "Someone's broken in. I'll go check it out."

In hell, the voice belongs to a woman with a vinyl record for a head and wearing a blue business suit and matching blue dress shoes. Currently, she's listening in on the Graphophone to the sounds of gunfire and men shouting and screaming until it all became silent. Afterward, the female overlord said...

"We got a new player."

After the woman left the room, a familiar radio demon comes out the shadows and said...

"Sounds like someone's getting a lead part in the greatest show of the universe, coming soon to a theatre near you."
