Amy will always feel bad for what she made the restoration truly for. Bad towards the people who worked so hard, not towards Sonic. It was made to further her own goals. Sadly, it worked out a bit too well. Eggman only got weaker, but Sonic only got stronger. Amy realized a long time ago Sonic would find trouble even if Eggman was gone. So one problem became smaller yet one became bigger. Sonic was feared by most if even thought of by most. He was a proclaimed legendary hero. Amy hated that. But the higher you go, the bigger the fall. So Amy bided her time. Sonic was credited with most of the work despite Amy being behind it all. But she could use that against him later so she wasn't too upset with it.

The restoration was busy. Even without Sonic's antics. Danger followed Sonic which is why so much came to them. Amy hates that but she works to help, so she keeps on. She's in power after all. Now all Amy needs to do is wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. But that moment hasn't been happening for a while. Amy is sure, there hasn't been any openings. She keeps on checking whenever she can. But no matter what, it keeps on going. The cycle is hard to break. Extremely hard. New players come in and out but no matter what the cycle stays. It honestly would drive Amy crazy if she wasn't so focused on so many tasks at all times. So she keeps working and working hoping for a time to finish this once and for all. Work is hard, extremely hard. But she can do it. She's Amy Rose after all.

Amy Rose doesn't quit.

Power comes in a lot of forms. Being in a position of power is one thing. Getting people to trust you and give you loyalty is another thing. Lanolin was someone who was all three. Assistance from her was corroborated and nice and expected. Lanolin is a reliable good in Amy's life. Amy enjoys the little company she gets from the sheep, she's nice, she deserves a lot better than this. Maybe after all this is over, she will. Amy can only hope.

"Miss Rose?" Lanolin asks, giving a knock on the door beforehand.

"Yes Lanolin?"

"Here are the things you wanted."

Lanolin puts some files on her desk. About recent events and any possible threats.

"Thank you Lanolin"

"You're welcome Miss." Lanolin leaves the same way she came.

Amy smiles at the respect and looks at the files. Badnik gangs. More than usual. Ever since Eggman, with the heaviest quotes "disappeared" the robots began to spread out. What's concerning this time is that they are a lot more coordinated and focused. Differing robot types. Which gives credit to the possible theory that he didn't actually disappear, go figure. It's a bit strange however but Amy won't question it, she enjoys not having to hear another Eggman announcement every ten minutes.

Eggman's bots were smart but probably wouldn't have grouped together without Eggman's control. As an excuse for the man's ego, he didn't like things he couldn't control. So, of course this aroused suspicion, except for Amy who knew Eggman was probably coming back. So was biding her time until whenever he decided to come back. Now it was happening. Great, just great. Eggman could simultaneously be the greatest asset to her mission while also being a complete thorn in her side. He caused chaos for everyone, not only Sonic. Which of course ends up affecting Amy. Sometimes she thinks she could walk away, but Eggman and Sonic get everywhere. Like an infection.

Also like an infection it makes her sick. She keeps on looking through the files. Nothing else seemingly piqued her interest. So she goes back to doing whatever else she can do. That's until Lanolin knocks on her door.

"Knuckles would like to see y-"

"Hey Amy!" The Echidna easily gets past the sheep, who backs off

"Hello Knuckles, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Amy says, Knuckles is still nice. She enjoys his company

"Badniks" Knuckles says

"I know, I know. I'm trying, I'm trying. It's weird, I have no idea what's going on… have you heard from Sonic?"

"Nope"

"Of course not! Do we even know where he is?" Amy asks, frustrated

"Nope"

"Alright, I'm sorry I don't have any new information, ask Sonic or Tails about Sonic, or try something else… sorry, Knuckles" Amy says, wanting to pull her hair out

"Okay!" Knuckles goes back out from the way he came, Lanolin takes his place, entering the room.

"Anything else you need Miss Rose?" She asks kindly and gently

"No… Thank you, Lanolin"

"Thank you!" Lanolin leaves the room, same way as she came in. Looking happier and more energetic than ever, Amy wishes she had a much energy as Lanolin does

Amy goes back to her job. Her boring monotonous job, checking and rechecking and making sure everything and everyone is okay. It's a means to an end. After all of this, she can end it. It sucks that she has to deal with it now. After all the work of the day. She goes back to her house and goes to sleep. After a long tired day of trying to manage everything. It's a big wait but at least now she can sleep in her bed.

Kidding, she sleeps at her desk. Maybe Amy works too hard. She probably does, but it's for the best. At least that's what she thinks. Amy is working for a better future. She sleeps easily and hardly. She wakes up a couple hours later. Amy's surprised that she got that much sleep. Three to five hours isn't much but it's all she could afford, it's all anyone can for the most part. Amy works and works. Waiting for something to change. Maybe it'll change soon. Maybe she'll find someone to help her and end all of this.
