Amy honestly hates her job. The slog of it all. Only for it to hopefully end. The only thing that pushes her out of bed for the morning is the fact that one day both Eggman and Sonic will be dead and nothing else big can happen. Again, a means to an end. Every day she wakes up, does her job, then goes to sleep. She saves the energy for when she needs to do things for later. Maybe after all this time, she can take a break even a small one. Only a tiny one.

When Jewel asked her if she could take charge. Amy was more than happy to have someone take her place. Having someone responsible in head position while she could still have most of the perks of leading the charge? Amazing, better than anything she could hope for. Amy was ecstatic, she could take a break now. She was excited. Ecstatic, she couldn't wait to finally take a break from all of this. Everything might finally fall into place for her. After everything, maybe it will work out.

One eventful camping trip and a bunch of battles later, Amy was even more tired than before. She can't possibly imagine how Jewel feels. But at least she can relax now. Until something new comes around. A city nonetheless. She deals with it for a bit with, of course, Sonic. She can't wait until he's dead. It isn't the worst thing however. But she doesn't want to talk about it or deal with it anymore. So she instructs Landolin to make a team to deal with it with Sonic. The last thing she wants to do is deal with Sonic and Eggman. Again. Like she always does.

After that fiasco, Lanolin comes back. With information. A lot of information. Which Amy might actually be able to use.

"Miss Rose?"

"Yes, Lanolin?"

"Files you asked for."

Lanolin gently as she can sets down the files on Amy's desk. Amy looks at them, before slumping over in mental anguish. She still has work to do.

"Usually I wouldn't say this, but any useful files?" Amy says exacerbated

"A few of them, mainly some about Starlines new creations… Surge and Kit." Lanolin suggests. That piques Amy's interest. So she goes to the file…

"Let me take a look…"

Amy starts to read the notes.

'Surge the Tenrec is a wild villain up to no good. Created by now infamous Dr. Starline, her one and only purpose is to kill Sonic the hedgehog.' Amy stops and smiles after that, a great big wide ear to ear smile, good news

"Thank you Lanolin!" Amy says with reignited enthusiasm "You're Dismissed!" Amy says happily. Lanolin waves goodbye with a smile on her face. She has no idea what has happened but she's happy she could make Miss Ross smile. Amy keeps reading the notes, it grips her into a smile, and a read she can't turn away from. A package of notes containing a key to freedom. Starline does not know what he did. But his efforts will not go in vain.

'While not much is known about her past. She was designed to be the ultimate killing machine.' Amy keeps on smiling, this might be the best thing she has ever read in her entire life. Like the best book she could ever get her hands on. This is a win for her plan for sure. At the possible worst case scenario, it's a step in the right direction. So she'll take it as a win no matter what. So Amy's happy, she might jump for joy. Something she hasn't done in a while.

'She was made to replace Sonic but has seemingly given up that goal to pursue outright killing him and leaving nothing left. Created in his shadow, she is the ultimate understudy.' Amy then turns to Kit's notes to figure out his deal, and what he could possibly offer

'Kit the Fennec is the sidekick to Surge. Also created by Starline. Nothing much is known about his past either but he is now completely dedicated to Surge's killing of Sonic and anything Sonic related. Kit is incredibly loyal to Surge. Meaning if she is convinced by something, he will be likely to follow. He will do anything to protect Surge. Modeled after Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic's sidekick." While that could possibly be a problem, Amy is still happy

It's almost like a gold bar being dropped into her lap. She couldn't be happier. Maybe a few things need to be changed and she still needs to convince the two she's trustworthy. But now she can move forward. This is the window she has been looking for. She goes back to her list and changes some things. Revising has never felt so much fun.

Amy is giddy with excitement. But she still has to find the two. Which could be hard but can also be easy. Well, she better get to work then huh? Trying to find the two won't happen itself. So she goes and does what she does best. Figuring things out. She figured out the cycle, Sonic, Eggman, now Amy will figure out these two and who and what they are. She will get answers and a way to end all of this.

Scouring anything she can get her hands on. Amy is on a mission to find these two. Checking their last known whereabouts. Who they've interacted with and how long they've been in specific places. It takes a bit, but soon enough Amy has her answer. A small cave outside the city. Weird but it makes sense. Despite it all she'll finally get what she wants. Now all she needs to do is convince them. But she feels that'll be easy.
