Season 1 Episode 7: Evillustrator

Our story begins at night in the halls of Naranja/Uva Academy with Marinette and her Piplup running in a panic. "Heeelp!" Marinette screams out as she and Piplup run away from Stormy Weather, but she runs into Lady Wifi. Lady Wifi launches her Thunder Wave on Marinette, paralyzing her in place, and Stormy Weather fires an Ice Beam from her parasol that encases Piplup in a block of ice.

The two villains high-five each other [couldn't remember what they actually did was called, but suddenly they hear a voice callout, "Use Smokescreen!" The two villains are surrounded by a thick black smoke as Super Nathan arrives with his partner Cyndaquil. Undeterred by the two, Stormy Weather prepares to unleash a powerful Hurricane from her parasol until he uses his pencil and sketchpad to erase it away. Lady Wifi tries to use her phone to paralyze the two but Super Nathan says to his Pokémon, "Cyndaquil, use Quick Attack!" Cyndaquil then dashed towards Lady Wifi, pushing her back as Super Nathan traps the two villains in a glass cage he draws.

He also erases the electricity that's paralyzing Marinette while Cyndaquil uses Ember to thaw out Piplup. Once fully recovered, Marinette rushes over to hug him as she says"Oh, Super Nathan, you're my hero!"

"It was nothing." Super Nathan replies.

"I love you!" Marinette said as she embraces him.

"I love you too, Marinette." Super Nathan says to her as he embraces back.

Suddenly, the scene gets interrupted but a voice angrily saying, "Nathaniel! What are you drawing?" Nathaniel looks up; revealing the scene to be a dream and the voice was his science teacher, Ms. Olga Mendeleiev. Before Nathaniel could say anything, Ms. Mendeleiev angrily said to him,"And these artistic endeavours are clearly why you are failing science."

Nathaniel nervously tries to say to his teacher,"I'm sorry..."

But Ms. Mendeleiev interrupts him and says angrily,"You go march yourself down to the principal's office and show him that chicken scratch! Then you'll be really sorry!"

As Nathaniel tries to leave, he trips over Mylène's bag and drops his sketchbook. Chloé sees the open sketchbook on the floor and picks it up as she says, "Ooh! Look, Sabrina! It's him as a superhero! And look who he's saving! It's Marinette!" Marinette was surprised to hear that as Chloé continued to say"He's so totally crushing on you, Marinette!"

"Gimme that!" Nathaniel said as he angrily took his book back.

An irritated Ms. Mendeleiev angrily tells her student,"Enough! Nathaniel, go!" She points and directs him out as he leaves with sadness.

[Just wanted to leave a personal note commenting that I feel like Ms. Mendeleiev is one of the rudest teachers I have ever seen and I'm surprised Evillustrator doesn't come after her first]

The window in Hawk Moth's lair slowly opens as he can be heard saying,"Ahhh... Artists can be so emotional. I love it."A butterfly flies into the palm of his hand as he begins to swirl his other hand around, which collects glowing purple dust and moves it over the butterfly. With his hands pressed together over the butterfly, the glowing dust infuses the butterfly as it turns into anakuma. "Fly to him, my little akuma. Draw him into our evil web!" As Nathaniel is walking through the Academyhallway, he drops hispencil, but when he grabs it, the akuma flies in and possesses it. A light mask forms on Nathaniel's face as Hawk Moth's voice says,"Are you tired of having your creative spirit crushed? Evillustrator, I'm your friend and patron of the arts. I'm here to offer you support by granting you the artistic skills of the Painter Pokémon, Smeargle. But I don't give this kind of power for free. I have a couple of items that need retrieving."

"Just tell me what you want."Nathaniel responded as he turns into the Evillustrator.

Evillustrator's skin was pale purple, and his hair was brushed back while colored orange with purple tips. On his head he had a dark purple beret, and on his face, he had a deep violet butterfly-shaped mask, and his eyes were moderate cyan. He wore a white jumpsuit with dark purplish-black stripes and solid dark purple legs that became red halfway down his lower legs. On his chest, there was a black circle with smaller red, yellow, and blue circles inside. His collar was similar toJuleka'susual T-shirt, with a red collar underneath. A black drawing tablet was attached to the back of his right forearm. His pen was silver towards the tip, with the end being black with a red stripe in the middle. [I couldn't figure out a way to incorporate Smeargle's design into Evillustrator.]

Back inMs. Mendeleiev's classroom, she announces to the class about their next assignment."The next particle physics presentation group is Nino, Adrien and Alya!

Marinette was astonished as she whispered to her friend,"Oh! So lucky!"

Ms. Mendeleiev continues by saying,"And then, Sabrina, Chloé and Marinette."

Marinette faceplants onto the desk as Alya whispers to her,"So unlucky."

Chloé raises her hand to ask"Uh, Miss, can't you add her to another group? Sabrina and I work much better on our own."

Ms. Mendeleiev replied with annoyance in her voice,"This is a group presentation, not pairs! Deal with it."

"I hate dealing with it!" Chloé angrily grunted through her teeth.

The bell rings and all of the students get up to leave the class, but before they go, Marinette asks Alya,"You wouldn't be willing to trade groups, would you?"

"And deal with that twosome terror? Sorry." Alya responded leaving Marinette disappointed."But I promise to talk all about you in between particles and the physics!"

"You're the best!"Marinette happily saying and she jumps over for a hug but they both fall over.

Inside the locker room, Chloé is putting her books away with Quaxly by her side as she says to Sabrina,"Forget it, Sabrina. I don't have time for some dumb project. Besides, now you have Marinette to help you."

Sabrina becomes nervous as she complicatedly says, "Okay, that's fine, Chloé. We'll do the work. Don't worry." Chespin, standing next to her Sabrina, tries to be sheepishly cute towards Chloé and Quaxly but Chloé ignores her and Quaxly

"Um, is everything okay?" Marinette asked as she and Piplup walk over to the them.

Chloé sighs and responds,"It's fine, Marinette."

"Well then, why can't you help us with the project?" Marinette asks.

"None of your business, Miss Nosy!" Chloé replied with attitude as Quaxly flips her hair towards Piplup, angering the penguin Pokémon.

Marinette then responded by saying,"Uh, actually, since I'm part of this group, it is."

"It's okay, Marinette." Sabrina interrupted."You and I will do all the research, and the writing for our project, and then, Chloé can present it! That way it's equal."

"That's not equal at all!" Marinette replied all annoyed."Is that how you two work?!"

Sabrina happily says, "Yeah! We've been doing this ever since grade school, when I started doing Chloé's homework! And we've been BFF's ever since!"

"You got a problem with that?" Chloé snarkily asked before she turned to her 'friend',"Come on, Sabrina."

Marinette puts her hand on Sabrina's shoulder as she tells her,"Sabrina, Chloé's totally taking advantage of you. You don't have to do what she says. That's not how a real best friend acts!"

Chloé pulled her over as she tells Marinette,"Ugh, not only am I Sabrina's best friend, I'm her only friend, so she better do what I say, 'cause without me, she has nothing." Quaxly then pulls over Chespin, copying her trainer.

"Well, I'd rather have no friends than be friends with you." Marinette said which caught Sabrina by surprise.

"Whatever. I've got more important things to worry about. My hair is a hot mess and Jean Claude promised to work his magic. Later!" Chloé said as she and Quaxly walk away. But Quaxly turns around and akanbes towards Piplup, which makes Piplup more frustrated. [For those that don't know what "akanbe" is, it's the taunt where they pull their eyelid down and stick out their tongue, I looked up the term.]

In the academy hallway, Marinette is about leaving when Sabrina runs up to her calling out,"Marinette!"Sabrina then hugs her after catching her breath and Chespin hugs Piplup as well as Sabrina continues to say,"I can't believe you stood up to Chloé like that! It was so amazing."

Feeling awkward, Marinette says to her,"Uhh, well...Yeah, what are friends for?"

Sabrina then says with excitement,"You are my friend, and I'm really super excited to hang out with you, and have a new best friend who actually helps with the project! We're going to have the absolute best time together! Then, we'll do the presentation, and tell Mrs. Mendeleiev the truth about Chloé! Sound good?"

"Sounds...great?" Marinette says with a little concern in her voice.

"YAY! Then I'll see you in the library, bestie!" Sabrina says as she heads off happily and Chespin follows. Marinette is smiling but Piplup questions the whole situation.

In the academy library, Chloé can be heard angrily saying to Sabrina,"Ugh! What do you mean, you're not doing my assignment?!"

Sabrina then responded,"Marinette's right! I...I'm not your slave!"

"I never actually said that..." Marinette tried to explain but was interrupted.

"But Marinette didn't buy a super cute beret at Gabriel's, and I did!" Chloé said as she pulled a beret out of her bag."And perhaps I could lend it to you. Maybe even this matching one for Chespin" She then pulled out a smaller beret, the perfect Pokémon size which Quaxly showcases.

Marinette then asks,"Excuse me, but are you trying to bribe her into staying your friend? With hats?"

"Uhhh... really, really adorable hats!" Sabrina said as she fawned over the berets."They would look fantastic on me and Chespin!" Chespin's eyes glistened at the hats as well.

"No, excuse ME, but you are trying to steal my friend from me, with homework!" Chloé said with attitude as The Evillustrator sees them in the distance. He draws a beret on his pad which causes many berets to fall from above and hit Chloé and Quaxly. "Ahh! My hair!" Chloé said with panic as The Evillustrator draws a hairdryer. Soon a giant hairdryer materializes and begins chasing Chloé and Quaxly through the library as she screams out,"Ahhh! Please! Please! Ahhhh!"

Adrien and Sprigatito sees her in distress close by, so they go off to hide as he returns his Pokémon to his Pokéball and begins his Transformation Sequence "Plagg, claws out!"as Adrien turns into Cat Noir.

"No! Not the hair!" Chloé cried out as she continued to be chased. [I figured she and Quaxly would be too worried about their hair to fight back]

Marinette then ran behind a bookcase as she pulled out her Pokéball and Tikki flew out of her bag."Time to transform! Return Piplup!" After Piplup, returned to her Pokéball in a glowing red light, Marinette began her Transformation Sequence"Tikki, spots on! Ah!"Marinette then fully turns into Ladybug.

"No! Stop!" Chloé cried out as she is chased into a corner. Thankfully Ladybug arrives and wraps her yo-yo around the hairdryer as she jumps on it and struggles to control it.

"Run and hide!"Ladybug said to Chloé as she and her Pokémon run away.

Cat Noir lands on top of one of the bookshelves and said"I got wind that you were being blown away by a hairy situation."

"Fewer puns, more action!" Ladybug said with annoyance as she struggled with the hairdryer.

Cat Noir tried hitting it with his staff but misses, but Ladybug uses her yo-yo to swing the hairdryer back around, leading it towards Cat Noir. "Shadow Claw!" Cat Noir called out as his hand becomes surrounded by a dark aura with a purple outline which forms a claw. He then strikes at the hairdryer as Ladybug jumps off and the resulting attack causes the hairdryer to Cat Noir's attack, Evillustrator draws the attack on his sketchpad to use later (Sketch). As the two heroes get up, Cat Noir sees the Evillustrator on the balcony above them and says,"Well, that guy looks pretty sketchy!"

As the Evillustrator tries to run off, Ladybug and Cat Noir jump up to the same floor and chase after him. Before they can get close, he draws a glass wall and they fall backward. As Ladybug tries to get back up, she notices that the villain is gone,"Where'd he go?"

Cat Noir replied,"I don't know, but he sure has a way of illustrating his point." Ladybug groans with annoyance at the bad pun.

The two heroes arrive atLe Grand MesagozaHotel, while in Chloé's room, Cat Noir asks,"Seems this Evillustrator's targeting you specifically, Chloé. Any idea why?"

Chloé is sitting on the couch with Quaxly as she turns to the heroes and says, "No. Everyone adores me."

"Yeah, because you're sooo adorable." Ladybug sarcastically muttered.

Upon hearing this, Chloé says with excitement,"Yeesss! Ladybug just said I'm adorable! I totally need a picture of the two of us together!"She pulls out her phone and takes a picture of her, Quaxly and Ladybug.

"Ugh! That was unpleasant." Ladybug said as she walked away.

Chloé looks at the picture as she says,"Well, I look great, of course, Quaxly, fabulous as usual, but your smile is all wonky. Let's take another!"Chloé and Quaxly rush over to take another picture, leaving Ladybug annoyed.

"Sorry, I'm just a little camera shy." Ladybug lied as she walk away from the two.

Cat Noir walks towards a grumpy Ladybug and says to her,"Looks like somebody's got some fans!"

"Yeah, great." Ladybug replied with attitude.

Confused by her tone, Cat Noir asks,"So what's the deal? Why are you acting so weird? Come on, you gotta admit that having this girl and her Pokémon worship you is pretty awesome."

As he is talking, Ladybug sees Nathaniel's drawing on Chloé's table, covered in rude doodles. "Ugh, seriously? I'm over this! Let's go!" she says with an annoyed tone as she angrily exits towards the balcony.

As she stomps away, Cat Noir asked, "Are you kidding me? And what if the Evillustrator attacks her again?"

"Fine! You stay! Later!" Ladybug replied.

Concerned, Cat Noir asks"What do you mean later?"

"I mean, you're the one who wants to protect her, so you don't need me. So, later!" Ladybug said as she throws her yo-yo andswings away.

After she leaves, Chloé looks over the edge of the balcony and calls out, "Ahhh! Ladybug! Text me! OK!"

Ladybug swings back to theDupain-Cheng House, reaches the trapdoor of her room, and detransforms back into Marinette. She throws her purse on her sofa and tosses out her Pokéball, resulting in Piplup coming out. Inside Marinette's purse, Tikki's muffled voice can be heard saying,"Ow!"Piplup opens the purse as Tikki pops out and confronts her, "Hey!"

Marinette says to her kwami,"Sorry, Tikki... Chloé! She just...fires up this little red bug!"

"Well, simmer down! A hot head isn't going to get you anywhere!" Tikki said in an attempt to calm her down, and Piplup comes over to them and agrees.

"It's hard to keep my cool. Especially in school." Marinette said to her concerned kwami and Pokémon before she makes a realization."Oh my gosh! Sabrina! The project!" She rushes over to check her cellphone, and sees a lot of missed calls from Sabrina.

"Uh-oh... Looks like you got yourself a new BFF!" Tikki says as Marinette collapses. Suddenly, Piplup sees a shadow of someone at the window. Worried about someone seeing Tikki, she stuffs the kwami into her mouth without thinking [I thought this would be a nice bit of humor]. The one in the window is the Evillustrator, who erases the window pane and steps into her room.

Marinette sees in villain and says in a panic,"It's you! From the library! What are you doing here?"

Evillustrator walked over to her and said,"I just wanted to see you."

"Okay... But why did you attack Chloé?" Marinette asked.

Evillustrator angrily replied, "'Cause Chloé is cruel and selfish!"

Marinette responded by saying,"Can't argue with that... Are you going to hurt me?"

Surprised to hear that, Evillustrator quickly answered,"You? You're Marinette! You're beautiful and sweet and... you're perfect and I could never hurt you!"

Marinette stammers as she says,"Wow...that's, uh... very, umm...flattering! Uh, thank you?"

Evillustrator continued to say,"So, I just came by to ask you, if, uh, well, it's my birthday today, and, uh, would you wanna come to my party?"

Concerned about the situation, Marinette tries to explain,"Oh, umm... Actually, it's not really the best night. See, I got a presentation to work on, and...I have to call my friend, so we can meet and..."

"Oh please, Marinette! It'll just be you and me. You can even bring Piplup if you want."Evillustrator plead as he draws an invitation and gives it to her.

Marinette looks at the invitation and says with amazement, "Oh my gosh! That's...me!"

"You like it?" Evillustrator asked.

As she looked at the invitation again, Marinette noticed a familiar mark in the corner. Realizing what she needs to do, she says to the villain,"I...love it! So much that I will absolutely be at your party. On one condition."

Evillustrator eagerly responds with excitement, "Anything for you, Marinette."

"You can't hurt Chloé anymore." Marinette says to the villain,"I simply cannot bear violence."

"For you and only you." Evillustrator says with agreement, "Meet you at the canal, by the Southern gate bridge, at sunset!"He then draws a rocket pack, and flies away through the still erased window.

After he leaves, Marinette sighs as she sits down on her couch. Piplup, who was holding back Tikki the entire time, then spits out Tikki as she says, "Was that REALLY necessary?!" Piplup rubs the back of her head in awkwardness as Tikki flies over and says,"What are you thinking, Marinette?"

Marinette pulls out the Nathaniel's drawing that Chloé ruined and sees the same mark in the corner as she says to her kwami,"I'm thinking poor Nathaniel's got a crush on me. And his alter ego, the Evillustrator's gonna get crushed by Ladybug!"

Tikki worriedly asks,"Yes, but... how exactly is Ladybug going to crush this crush when...you're going on a date with him as Marinette?" Piplup goes over and shares Tikki's concern.

"Oh, maybe some cool cat needs to crash the party." Marinette replies, which makes Tikki and Piplup smile.

Back at the hotel, as Cat Noir is standing guard, Chloé and Quaxly are working on the assignment as she groans,"Ohhh... Sabrina is so selfish! Making me do this project by myself?! Ugh, my brain hurts..." Suddenly, Quaxly has an idea and nudges Chloé to look in Cat Noir's direction. Realizing what her Pokémon was saying, she get up and asks the hero, "Hey! Cat Noir, Are you any good at particle physics?"

Cat Noir tries to be charming and says,"Oh, this cat's got particle physics in the bag."

"Ah! Great!"Chloé said as she and Quaxly eagerly pull his arm."Sit, kitty!"Chloé gives him the project as she sits down to read a magazine and Quaxly relaxes next to her wearing sunglasses."Now, make it sound purr-fect for my presentation. See what I did? I made a cat joke! Ah! I can be funny."

"Yeah, hilarious."Cat Noir sarcastically says when his staff rings, he goes out onto the balcony to answer it and says,"You can't just fly out of here and then decide to make cat calls, Ladybug!"

Through the phone, Ladybug can be heard saying, "I'm sorry, that wasn't cool. But you can leave Chloé. I need you to protect this girl instead. Her name is Marinette. Really cute, isn't she?" Cat Noir's face got a surprised look as he recognized her while Ladybug continued to say, "The Evillustrator is in love with her, and promised not to harm Chloé as long as Marinette comes to his birthday party." While Ladybug is talking, Chloé annoyingly goes over to dings Cat Noir's bell as a way of telling him to do the project but he shoves her away. "While he's distracted, I want you to take him down."

"What about you?" Cat Noir asked after fully pushing Chloé away.

"I'm going on... a very important secret mission." Ladybug said over the phone. "I'll catch up with you later. Can you handle this alone?"

"Ha! Please! It'll be a cinch!"Cat Noir says as he closes the phone. He then pokes his head back into the room and says to Chloé,"You're out of danger, uh, so I'll see ya! Later!"He immediate jumps away afterwards.

"Later?! What about my presentation?! Ughhhh!" Chloé said frustrated as Quaxly mumbled angrily like Donald Duck.

Meanwhile, at the Dupain-Cheng house, as Marinette and Piplup are trying to leave, they seeSabrina and Chespin at the front door and Marinette says with surprise, "Oh! Sabrina! You scared me."

"Sorry...I was just waiting for you. Did you get my messages?" Sabrina asked as she pulled out a folder from behind her back.

"Yes! Yes I did!" Marinette said as she rambles on."And I was totally gonna call you."

"You were? I knew you would! Eventually. And so? I did your geography homework!"Sabrina said with excitement as she hands homework to Marinette. Beneath them, Chespin tries giving a very tight hug to Piplup which slow causes her face to turn purple from suffocation.

Marinette steps back as she says to her,"Whoa! You didn't have to do that."

Sabrina smiled as she replied, "Well, since you're my new best friend, it's the least I can do."

Marinette then says to her,"Thanks, but I just can't." As the two are talking, Piplup manages to force Chespin off of her.

"Really?" Sabrina asked with a disappointed look on her face.

"Oh, okay, but just this once."Marinette says as she takes homework.

"Great! So, you wanna work on the physics project tonight?" an excited Sabrina asks.

Marinette then struggles as she says,"Uhhh, I'm so sorry Sabrina, I've got something really important that I have to do."

"Something really important? Really?" Sabrina said with a certain tone [I don't know terms for expressions]"That's fascinating. Oh, you know who else uses that excuse all the time, don't you?"

"Um, no?" Marinette said as she questioning where she was going.

"Chloé!" Sabrina angrily said."I'm beginning to see how similar you two are! I bet you'd expect me to do all the work like she did, right?"

Marinette struggled as she tried to explain, "No! I don't! Really! It's just that—"

"I can't believe I did your geography homework for you..." Sabrina interrupts as she grabs homework and leaves with Chespin following her in a huff.

Before Marinette can stop her, Cat Noir suddenly appears and says,"Whoo-hoo! I thought I was going to have to save you from that girl's claws. Get it? Claws? Hey, I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Cat Noir." He then kneels down and kisses her hand.

Marinette awkwardly smiles as she says to the hero, "Uh, yeah... I know! You kinda save the day all the time and stuff...I'm Marinette! So... What are you doing here?"

Cat Noir says to her while flexing,"Well, that birthday boy date of yours is bad news. But don't worry. You'll be safe with me." While he is talking, Marinette makes mocking gestures while Piplup snickers.

As he turns around, Marinette stops doing the gestures and says,"That puts my mind at ease."

Cat Noir leaned against the wall as he says with charm,"But I am going to need a little help. Care to assist a superhero?"

"What about Ladybug? Aren't you a duo?" Marinette asks as she turns around and makes faces while Piplup holds back her laughter.

Cat Noir replies by saying (while she still making mocking gestures), "She's busy with something tonight, so...You get to be my Ladybug."

Marinette stops and rolls her eyes as she turns back around and overdramatically says,"Me and Cat Noir? Fighting crime together? Amaazing! What do I do?"

"You and Piplup just get that drawing pencil away from it, little lady. I'll take care of the rest."Cat Noir says before he jumps away. After he fully leaves, Marinette and Piplup giggle at the situation

Later that night, down by the Southern gate bridge, The Evillustrator is on a boat preparing everything for his birthday date. Suddenly, a light mask appears on his face as he hears Hawk Moth's tell him,"That is a lovely little scene you're setting. But I don't want you to get distracted, boy."

"But I just want Marinette to love me." Evillustrator tried to explain.

Hawk Moth argued by saying"And I want the Miraculous. So get it! Or else."

The Evillustrator's hand suddenly gets paralyzed. While holding his arm, Evillustrator panicked as he agrees,"Okay, I will, I will!"

As he tries to get feeling back in his arm, Marinette arrives on the shoreline with Piplup as she wishes him, "Happy birthday."

"Marinette!" Evillustrator said with three begin strolling along the side of the boat as Evillustrator says"Thank you for accepting my invitation."

Admiring the scene, Marinette says with amazement,"Wow, it's so beautiful."

"You like it? Well hold on, 'cause I'm just getting started."Evillustrator says as heis about to draw something, but dark clouds appear, clouding the moon. Evillustrator gets frustrated as he angrily says, "Grr! Come on, you've gotta be kidding!" His reaction made Marinette and Piplup wonder before the villain continued to say,"Uhh, sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. It's just... I can't draw properly in the dark." Hearing that gave Marinettean idea as she smirked and nodded to Piplup. Evillustrator draws a glowing moon to act as his light source and says,"Voila!"

Marinette and the Evillustrator ride the boat and the three sit on a bench while the Evillustrator plays some music on his pad. Piplup begins to doze off but Marinette nudges her awake as she notices Cat Noir leaping across nearby buildings. Marinette nods to Piplup to sneak around the bench as she distracts the villain by scooting closer to say"You're so talented! I just don't understand why you wanna use your power to hurt people."

While Piplup sneaks around, Evillustrator replies,"Not all people. Just Chloé. And I'm never doing that again. After all, you were true to your promise, so I'll be true to mine."

As the boat passes under the bridge, Cat Noir times his jump and leaps directly to the boat without being heard. Marinette then says to thevillain, "I...actually draw a little too, I'm not as good as you are, of course."

"I'm sure you're a wonderful artist." Evillustrator said with a smile.

Marinette reached over and says to him, "Well, can I draw you something special for your birthday?"The music stops as she grabs the end of the pencil.

"That would be amazing."Evillustrator said before he noticed Cat Noir sneaking behind him. "Marinette, give me my pencil back. I need to draw something, now!"

"No, I'm keeping it!" Marinette said as she grabbed the pen and ran off. "Cat Noir! Now!"Cat Noir's staff extends in front of the Evillustrator to prevent him from getting up.

"Marinette! You're working with him?" Evillustrator said with frustration in his voice. "I'm so stupid... I actually thought you liked me! But you're really just like Chloé. Teasing me, mocking me, leading me on!"

Annoyed, Marinette asks,"Come on! Seriously? Why is everybody comparing me to Chloé tonight?" The Evillustrator kicks Cat Noir's staff, and it knocks the pencil out of her hand. "Piplup, grab the pencil!" She called out as Piplup jumped on Evillustrator's head and leaped towards the pencil. He stops her however by creating a dark aura with a purple outline around his hand which formed into a claw and lunges towards the Pokémon. The attack knocks Piplup back towards Marinette as she caught her Pokémon and he grabs his pencil in the backlash. "That was Shadow Claw! But how?!" Marinette asked in confusion.

"The powers of Smeargle, I can copy any powers I see!" Evillustrator said as he lunged another attack towards the two, but Cat Noir blocked the attack with his staff.

After successfully blocking, Cat Noir grabs onto Marinette (who is still holding Piplup) and says, "Try copying this! Double Team" Suddenly many copies of the three were filling the boat, confusing the villain, but thankfully for him he had his pencil back so he did copy the attack.

Evillustrator then makes duplicates of himself as Marinette comments to Cat Noir, "Not the smartest choice, huh?" Cat Noir smirked in awkwardness when he realized his mistake.

When he finally realized the real ones, Evillustrator drew a transparent cube that falls and traps Cat Noir, Marinette and Piplup, causing the other duplicates to disappear. With the three trapped, he jumps on top of the cube and says to them, "I'm taking back my promise! Chloé's gonna get a little lesson she'll never forget!" Evillustrator says as heerases a hole in the boat, making it start to sink. But before he can escape, a shadowy figure jumps off from the bridge and attacks him with its horn as it glows white (Night Slash). Amidst the pain, Evillustrator looks up and notices a quadrupedal, mammalianPokémonwith a primarily white feline-like body with some pinkish red coloration and a scythe-shaped horn on the side of its head.

Marinette, Piplup and Cat Noir see in amazement as he asks, "Is that a shiny Absol?" The Absol then proceeds to attack the villain with an Air Slash. Seeing this, Cat Noir says aloud, "Wait, that must be what attacked Mr. Pidgey before!" [I was gonna give a shoutout, but no one wanted to guess]

As the Absol flies more Air Slashes, Evillustrator gets frustrated and says "You wanna play doggo, so be it!" as he copies the attack on his sketchpad and begins to fire Air Slashes back at Absol. But Absol skillfully dodges before it releases a purple crescent-like blade of energy from its horn that knocks Evillustrator towards the end of the boat.

Amazed by what she saw, Marinette said, "That was Psycho Cut!"

"And a strong one too." Cat Noir replied.

Annoyed at the distraction, Evillustrator finally had enough and said, "I am tired of these distractions!" before he drew a chain on Absol's legs that connected it to the sinking boat. "Have a nice swim you four!" He said before jumps off and escapes.

Cat Noir tries to hit the bottom of the cube as he says,"We've been penned in! Literally!"

Tikki tries to stick out of Marinette's purse but Marinette covers her with her hands. As Cat Noir kept jabbing, Marinette looks at his staff and says to him,"Cat Noir, your stick! Like this!"She indicates placing the stick against the ceiling of the cube,"And extend it!"

"Great thinking!" Cat Noir said as he grabbed onto Marinette and she grabbed Piplup.

"Yeah...I'm a genius." Marinette saidas Cat Noir extends his stick, lifting him, Marinette, Piplup and the cube into the air before landing safely on the bridge above. But as they settle down, Marinette realizes something, "Oh no, Absol!" She and Piplup jump back down to the sinking boat and try to free Absol.

"Marinette, get outta there!" Cat Noir yelled down to Marinette. [Cat Noir could have done more to help, but I wanted to make this a moment where Marinette was a hero as herself. So just ignore Cat Noir plot-wise.]

"Not without Absol!" Marinette shouted back as she and Piplup struggle to free the chained Pokémon. Absol looked at them with amazement as Marinette said, "Don't worry Absol, we'll get you out of here."

As the two struggle to free Absol, Piplup starts to muster up the strength as her beak glows white and grows longer as she strikes the base of the chain, shattering it.

Amazed at what she saw, Marinette commented, "Wow Piplup, did you just learn Peck to break the chain?" Once Absol was free, Absol motioned his head for Marinette to grab on and Piplup climb on top of him before he lunged up onto the bridge and all three were safe.

With the three safe, Cat Noir says to Marinette,"Wow, that was awesome! But I gotta go. A superhero's work is never done."He starts counting on fingers as he continues to say,"Damsels in distress, ladies in waiting... I've got a lot more saving to do. You can thank me later."He then jumps away leaving Marinette and the Pokémon behind. [Like I said, this was about Marinette, so don't think that Cat Noir was just being a smug jerk instead of helping]

Marinette looked towards Piplup and said"Me? Thank him? Please! He should be 'd still be trapped if I hadn't told him how to do his 'job.' Don't you think Ab…sol?" But as she turned around, she noticed that Absol was gone. "What did he go?" Marinette asked.

Tikki flew out of her bag and says to her, "We don't have time Marinette, we gotta go!"

"You're right. That boy's gonna need our help saving Chloé." Marinette said in agreement as she return Piplup and prepared to transform.

At the hotel, Chloé can be heard fake crying as she says,"Boo-hoo-hoo! I'm so sorry, miss, but after what happened at the library, I simply couldn't work on my project! It would've been too...traumatic! Just look what it's done to my...my...hair!"She continues fake crying, then looks up to Quaxly who does a so-so hand gesture before she stops crying and saying,"Oh, you're right. Who's going to believe that?! Even a stupid hairdryer couldn't make me look bad." The door rumbles as Chloéand Quaxly go over to investigate, "Uh? Cat Noir? Is that you?" She asked as she held her ear to the door, but the door was erased to reveal the Evillustrator. She and Quaxly scream and run away in fear before they hide under her bed.

Evillustrator enters the room and call out,"Chloé, where are you? Are you hiding?" He walks around the room as he continues to say, "That is so cute. You're playing hide-and-seek. In the closet?!"He then starts erasing things in the closet, until he erases the bed Chloé is hidden under and she screams. "I win, Chloé! I found you!"

Chloé continued to scream as she cried out, "Ah! My Chenal dresses! My Touboulin heels! You're... you're a monster! Quaxly use Water Gun!" Quaxly soon released a stream of water from her mouth that shot towards the villain, but it was revealed to be a duplicate from Double Team.

Surprised, the two notice Evillustrator as he says,"You like to walk all over other people. But you don't like it when others trample on you! Do you, Chloé? Do you?!"He draws a giant heeled shoe that begins chasing Chloé and Quaxly.

Chloé screams when Ladybug's yo-yo wraps around and breaks the heel, making the shoe disappear leaving Chloé confused and Evillustrator frustrated as Ladybug says,"Oops! Broke your heel! Better watch your ankles."

Cat Noir enters the room and joins Ladybug as he asked her, "Well, well, look what the cat dragged in."

"No cat dragged me anywhere, Cat Noir." Ladybug said with confidence. "I flew in all on my own."

Cat Noir continued to ask,"So what was this secret mission?"

"If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret." Ladybug answered with a smile.

"In the comics, this is what's known as the final showdown." Evillustrator said to the heroes, "The thing is, if you knew her, you wouldn't be breaking a sweat to save her skin! She's the real baddie!"

"Oh! It's not true! Everybody adores me!" Chloé responded as The Evillustrator uses Double Team and creates duplicates all over the room. Each one of the duplicates prepares to fires an Air Slash at each other person in the room.

"Look out!"Cat Noir called out as he spins his staff to deflect the attacks, but gets knocked out and force out the balcony door.

As more Air Slashes fire towards Ladybug, she dodges the attacks and then disintegrates two of the duplicates with her yo-yo, saving Chloé. She tries to swing her yo-yo towards what she believes is the real Evillustrator, but it turns out to be another duplicate. One of them draws a buzzsaw, but Ladybug uses her Agility to dodge it fast. However, the buzzsaw continues to spin and is about to hit Chloé, but Cat Noir stops it by throwing his staff into the center. He then splits his staff into two and throws them at some of the Evillustrators, but both turned out to be fakes. One half of the stick breaks a lamp, so one of the Evillustrators gets closer to another working lamp.

Seeing that, Ladybug made a realization,"The light! Cat Noir! He can't draw in the dark!"

"Got it!"Cat Noir says as he sees a light switch and activates his superpower."Cataclysm!" He tries to use his Cataclysm and hit the light switch, but the Evillustrator erases it, and Cat Noir breaks the wall instead.

"Here you go, kitty."Evillustrator sinisterly said as hedraws a ball and chain,"A little ball and chain to play with."The ball and chain then appear on Cat Noir's ankle, leaving him annoyed. "Sadly, those who get in my way get erased."Evillustrator then erases a giant hole in the floor, and Cat Noir is about to fall into it. Ladybug backs away in a hurry as she tries not to fall.

Cat Noir's Miraculous starting beeping as the hero panics,"No, no, no, no, no!"

As Evillustrator smiles manically, a light mask appears on his face as Hawk Moth tells him,"Cat Noir has a Miraculous! Take it! Take it now!"

Several Evillustrator duplicates starts to walk over as they say to the dangling hero in unison,"Before you go, you have something I want."

"Ladybug! This cat doesn't have nine lives!" Cat Noir called out to his partner.

Ladybug then activates her superpower sequence, "Lucky Charm!"Her Lucky Charm gives her abouncy ball which confuses Ladybug. "A bouncy ball?"

"Just try and stop me with that, little lady!"Evillustrator says as all of the duplicates starts laughing.

Ladybug uses her Lucky Vision and notices all of the duplicates along with the lights and lamps. "Gladly!"She said as she throws the bouncy ball at the lamps, breaking them, and turning everything dark. The ball also knocked out all of the duplicates, revealing the real one. With him unable to see, she swings her yo-yo around the Evillustrator's arm and pulls him over, making him fall. She grabs his pencil, and breaks it, releasing its akuma.

As his Miraculous beeps again,Cat Noir says to his partner, "Hurry!"Suddenly the ball and chain disappear, so he manages to get out of the hole.

Ladybug opens up her yo-yo and starts swinging it as she says,"No more evil-doing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize!"Her yo-yo then captures the akuma. "Gotcha! Bye bye, little butterfly."She says as she releases the purified butterfly and it flies away."Miraculous Ladybug!"Ladybug called out as she throws the Lucky charm in the air and restores everything back to normal.

The Evillustrator turns back into Nathaniel as he asks all confused, "Huh? Where am I?"

"Pound it!" Ladybug & Cat Noir said as they fist bumped.

"Noooo!" Hawk Moth yelled out angrily."The Miraculous was practically mine! And they will be. Once I have them all in my grasp, I shall rule the world!" The window starts close, leaving the room in darkness.

The next morning at the academy, Alya is recording a video as she interviews Chloé and Quaxly,"What happened when Ladybug and Cat Noir arrived on the scene?"

"Well, to be perfectly honest, they only made matters worse." Chloé said snobbily to Alya's camera."They came barreling in, and started smashing things to bits, throwing plastic balls around my room!"

"Plastic balls?" Alya asked asMarinette and Piplup giggle by her locker.

Sabrina and Chespin go over to the locker as Sabrina says to Marinette with attitude,"I hope you had a good time last night taking care of that important thing you had to do."

"I'm really sorry, Sabrina." Marinette apologizes with sincerity, "But I can meet you in the library today and finally work on the project with you."

"Too late. Chloé and I are doing the project together." Sabrina said as she turned around with crossed arms.

"You mean, you're doing the project?" Marinette asked.

"Well, of course! After all she's been through..." Sabrina said as Marinette held her head in annoyance.

"Ughhh... Nice new berets, by the way." Marinette said as the two show off their new hats.

"I know, right! Chloé lent them to us. She really is my BFF!" Sabrinasaid with a smile before she and Chespin ran over to Chloé. "Chloé! Your geography homework's ready!"

Marinette just sighed as she closes her locker and see Adrien on the other side with Sprigatito on his shoulder as he say, "Hey!" She immediately got startled as he continued to say, "I heard about your adventures with Cat Noir yesterday. Were you scared?"

Marinette stammers as she tries to say, "Me, scared? Pfft, it was a dream. I mean, you're a dream. I mean, in your dreams! Huh? Oh, this is a nightmare..." Meanwhile, Piplup just facepalms at the situation.

Despite whatever that was, Adrien continued to ask,"Okay... So, what do you think about Cat Noir? Was he awesome?" Sprigatito meows as if he's asking too.

Marinette then continues to say,"I mean, sure! Yeah, but not as awesome as you, of course. Because, who could be? You're the most awesome of awesome."

"So, that's a yes?"Adrien said as the bell rings, and he pats Marinette on the shoulder as he leaves.

Marinette watches Adrien walk out she puts her hands onto her chest, she feels her heart skip a beat as Tikki came out to say,"You do realize you just blabbered on to Adrien about how you think he's awesome, don't you?"

"He touched my shoulder..." Marinette said oblivious to what her kwami said. "I'll never wash my jacket again!"

"Girl, you have got to get better control of your emotions." Tikki said as Piplup nodded in agreement. But Marinette then refocused as she stopped to think about what happened with the Absol.

At a distance away, Absol can be seen watching over Marinette before he leaps away.
