On the sofa Blood lay and slept on without any problems. The sun slowly rose and a ray of sunlight passed through the window and shone on his face as if to tell him to get up. However, the wolf did not think about getting up. His ears dropped back as he heard someone going down the stairs. At first he thought it was both brothers. But when he heard the person tumble down the stairs he knew it was Elder Kettle who had woken up and was still running around the cottage like a blind mole looking for his glasses.
Annoyed, he was about to get up and help Elder Kettle when suddenly there was a knock at the front door. "Blood, could you please..." Elder Kettle slammed his face into the door arch and landed on the floor, "open the door?" the wolf nodded and went to the front door and opened it. "Why did you..." he went silent as he opened the front door.
He had hoped that Alicia and the three cups would be at the front door. But there was no sign of them. At first, the wolf was confused. There was no one in front of him. Until he heard "Uh, down here," and looked down to see someone standing at the front door. It was a fox.
A young anthropomorphic fox who's the same height as Alicia with a lithe build and covered in red fur with a white underbelly up to his muzzle. He has black tips on his ears while his hands and feet up to his elbows and knees are dark auburn. He has green eyes, a small black nose, a white tip at the end of his tail and a tuft of hair in the same colour as his fur atop of his head (similar to 1998 Rudolph and Slyly's). He wears a sleeveless black and dark navy blue jumpsuit with a brown tool belt, black boots and black gloves with blue linings near the end. He also wears black goggles with blue lens atop of his head.
Blood looked at the fox and realized one thing very quickly. He was not from this world. His eyes weren't pie-cut eyes and he didn't seem to be wearing gloves. However, he had something on his right arm. A kind of small display that showed different numbers that appeared and disappeared from time to time. "Sorry to barge in so early in the morning, but I was wondering where I-" "Am?" Blood finished, leaning against the archway.
The fox nodded and asked if he could enter. Blood was not sure and looked at the fox skeptically. "Sorry, but I don't like to let strangers into the house without knowing if they are friendly or hostile," the fox looked at him confused until he understood what Blood meant and rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Oh, that again.".
"I know we foxes have a bad reputation, but let me assure you of one thing. I am friendly," the fox stared at Blood with annoyed eyes while he looked at him and smiled. Yes, the fox did not seem to be a threat. With the door wide open, he let the fox in. "You may go in, sir," the fox turned to Blood when he realized that he had not introduced himself. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself," he scratched the back of his head nervously and introduced himself.
"My name is Varian Stormwood," he bowed to the wolf, who grinned. "And what is your name?" Varian asked politely. Blood smiled and replied "Blood". Varian was a little confused by the name. "Just Blood? No last name?" the young fox asked curiously. Blood grinned even more. "Is that so important? You know my first name and that's enough," he sat down on the couch and offered Varian a seat. But the fox preferred to stand and wanted to know where he was while he fiddled with the device around his arm.
Varian considered whether or not to say something about it. But he decided not to. However, he quickly aroused the curiosity of the wolf, who wanted to know what Varian was doing there. "What exactly is that thing you're fiddling with all the time?" the wolf pointed to his arm, where the device Varian had finished building could be seen.
"Oh, this is a dimensional monitor I invented myself, it's supposed to show me where I am and what dimension I'm from," he kept screwing and hammering on the monitor until it stopped making noise and started working again. It worked and a combination of numbers appeared large on the screen. "So I've landed in the dimension 11062022," the fox said and swiped his index finger to the right. The number combination disappeared in pixels and the name "Inkwell Isle's" appeared. "So this is where I have landed.".
Blood was even more confused than before and didn't know what exactly was going on. However, his thoughts quickly turned to Alicia and the three cups that were still without any trace. "Did I say something wrong?" asked Varian, noticing the worried look on the wolf's face. "No, it's just that I was hoping someone else would be at the door instead of you," he sighed.
The fox felt that the wolf was worried and wanted to help him as a sign of gratitude. So he swiped his index finger to the right again and a voice came out of the monitor, "What can I help you with?" a robotic voice asked. "Yes, could you tell us where..." he was silent and looked at Blood who looked at him confused until he knew what he meant. "Alicia Powell, Cuppy, Cuphead and Mugman are located," he finished the sentence and the monitor picked it up and searched.
On the screen appeared several photos of the inhabitants of the Inkwell Isle, which the computer searched until it sorted out four people after questioning, while the others disappeared and a map of the Inkwell Isle appeared with four dots connected to the pictures. Alicia and Cuppy were side by side like the two brothers. However, they were very far away from each other and from the cottage where Blood and Varian were.
"Looks like the four of them have been separated," Varian said, zooming in on the two brothers in jail. "That's not good," Blood said, confused as to why they were in jail in the first place. The question remained where Alicia and Cuppy were. Varian didn't hesitate for long and with another tap on the screen, walked over to Alicia and Cuppy. To the shock of both canines, the young adult and the young cup were in the Underworld.
Blood's eyes widened while Varian swallowed nervously. "I hate to worry you, but if they're in the Underworld, we can't save them," the Fox knew it would be hard to escape the Underworld, but it was a piece of cake for the Wolf. "Maybe, but I already escaped from the Underworld once and I will do it again" he got up, went to the dressing room, grabbed his cloak, shoulder bag and wand and went to the front door.
Or that's what he wanted. Would Varian not stand right in front of the door, blocking his way. "Are you out of your mind? We are talking about the literal underworld here! The realm of the dead from which you cannot escape!" said Varian in a trembling voice. But the wolf thought nothing of it, "I think you mixed up something," he said, and without hesitation he walked out the front door, Varian following him.
"What do you mean?" asked Varian, who slowly calmed down as he followed the wolf who turned to him. "Maybe this place is called the underworld, but believe me. The underworld of Hades is different from the devil's underworld here." Varian exhaled in relief until he heard the penultimate word. "Wait, you mean the..." but before he could finish his sentence, he and Blood disappeared in a puff of blue smoke in front of the cottage.
Both were gone, leaving Elder Kettle alone who had just come out of the kitchen and was ready to sit down in his chair when he heard someone enter his cottage. "Boys? Alicia? Blood?" however none of those he had named answered him but a female voice.
A lone harmonica played through the prison. The sun was shining and roasting on the prisoners who were doing hard work outside. Sweat dripped from their foreheads while some wiped it away or waved their hands in the wind like a fan. Only a few sat in the few shady places that were available outside. While some prisoners were outside sweating and working. Some were inside, and did muscle exercises or lifted weights.
However, the two prisoners stopped with their work out when they heard a tremor and saw a large shadow approaching them. Both did not hesitate long and ran away as a hand grabbed the barbell that the rhino dropped. The hand bent it so that it looked like a big bow. Or rather a pretzel? Hard to say.
In the cells sat the rest of the prisoners, including an anthropomorphic harmonica that continued to play with itself. Not far from his cell, two more to the right to be exact, were Cuphead and Mugman. Cuphead held onto the bars with both hands and looked out of the cell, bored and bleary-eyed. His face showed a three-day beard. Mugman was lying on the upper bed and had the same look and beard as his brother. Unlike his brother, Mugman held a piece of chalk in his hand and drew it on the wall next to him to count the days they had been in here.
Or rather the hours, because only five hours have passed since they were here in prison. "We were tricked breaking into that cookie factory!"He held the piece of chalk in his fist and growled. "This is what we get for listening to that Ms. Chalice"angry he threw the chalk into his brother's head. Sensing this, he turned to his brother, got annoyed, opened his mouth, and the chalk rolled down his tongue and he picked it up.
"I don't want to hear another word about Chalice or cookies ever again!" Mugman lay on the bed and paid no attention to his brother. He was too angry to look him in the eye. "I told you we shouldn't have hung out with her". But Cuphead knew that it was not him but Alicia. "No, you didn't but Alicia did!" he said, which surprised Mugman.
He lifted his upper body and no longer seemed angry. "I didn't? Well, that sounds like something I should have said", "Yeah, aren't you supposed to be the cautious one?" Cuphead asked him, which angered Mugman. "Oh, so now it's my, Cuppy's and Alicia's fault we're in prison?" he asked him as they both fell silent. Alicia and Cuppy weren't with them. Where the two were they did not know
"Alicia she was with us when the police caught us right?" asked Cuphead with a sad look. But Mugman shook his head, "I'm afraid I don't know myself. My head still hurts" he said rubbing it. This made them both angry and sad. Cuphead didn't want to sit around anymore but wanted to break out and rescue Alicia and Cuppy. "We gotta get out of here" he said and walked back and forth. Finding a good escape plan was not easy. The prison was well guarded. The rest of the prison inmates offered the two brothers various escape options, but they always backfired.
Cutting the bars with a metal file and climbing down with a rope made of bed sheets did not work. Escaping through the ventilation shafts ended with the two in the dog kennel and digging out of the prison ended with the two again in the dog kennel. "We almost had it. Next time, all we need is a little dynamite!" Cuphead said as he and Mugman were locked in a small metal box. Mugman, however, had to cry, which his brother noticed. "What, you don't like dynamite?". "No I..." he wiped away his tears and sniffled. "Just don't know how we're going to free Alicia if we don't know how to get to the underworld" he said and started crying.
The next day Cuphead made a plan to break out of prison. This time it should work and they could free Alicia and finally go home. "What we need is a more elaborate plan," he said, unrolling a toilet paper with a blueprint of the prison drawn on it. "Something way more complicated" he said "No, Cuphead" said Mugman which confused him. "What we need is to give up" he said, which shocked Cuphead. They were trying to save Alicia after all.
"Mugsy! What are you saying?" Cuphead stood up, "I thought we were going to rescue Alicia?", "Being on the inside changes a mug" he clenched his hand into a fist before turning to his brother. "The only way we're getting out of here and to rescue Alicia is to make the best of it and serve our time" Mugman said with a twinkle in his eye. Cuphead was confused until he saw the guard and hid the plan. The guard, an anthropomorphic horse, shone his light into the brothers cell and saw that Cuphead was still up. "Hey go to bed!" yelled the guard. Cuphead nodded and went to bed.
When the guard was gone, Mugman jumped down from his bed to his brother and explained everything. Cuphead nodded and the two prepared their plan. The next day Cuphead drew something on the map while Mugman watched for the guard who might come at any moment. "You know where the kennel is?" he asked him. Cuphead nodded. The door opened and the two brothers jumped into bed while Cuphead hid the plan under his pillows. Actually, the plan was quite simple. Mugman pretended not to want to escape from the prison while Cuphead cleverly gathered everything to escape.
The first thing he stole was a spoon from a fellow prisoner. "And when are you going to try to break out again?" an anthropomorphic shark asked Mugman while he was playing with the others in the yard. "Oh uh..." Mugman was nervous as the shark looked at him. "We'll stay in here" he said with a nervous smile as the shark stared at him more closely. He hoped the plan wouldn't unravel or they wouldn't be able to escape again.
The guards looked at the group from the wall. The shark looked at the guard and then at Mugman. "Okay then welcome to the family Mobman" said the shark as he extended his fin which Mugman shook. "Thanks but my name is-" he fell silent as the shark looked him deep in the eyes "Mobman... Yes I am Mobman" Mugman said nervously as he continued to play with the others.
While Cuphead was busy devising a plan to not only free him and his brother, but also Alicia and Cuppy, she just woke up.
Her eyes opened and slowly everything became clearer and clearer while the blurriness disappeared. She blinked several times until she saw something black in front of her with a lot of fur and scales? "L-L-Lucifer?" she said softly and touched the fur. It was not very soft and fluffy but rather scratchy. Alicia now knew that the fur and the scales did not belong to Lucifer but to the devil. So that means I am... She was in the underworld and in the sleeping quarters of the devil who had turned into a dragon and wrapped himself around her.
Alicia already suspected that she would end up here at some point. But not right now. She wondered how she ended up here in the first place. She held her chin thoughtfully while she pondered. The last thing she remembered before she woke up was that she was in the cookie factory with the three cups and Chalice, and that she had gotten a golden cookie from her that knocked her out.
Everything after that felt like a blackout to her. Don't tell me the cookie Chalice gave me. She shook her head. Never would Chalice have done this to her. Why would she? Alicia hadn't done anything to her, and she didn't know about her demon powers. But still, Alicia didn't seem too pleased about it. She was angry and wanted to confront her.
But Alicia could forget that for the time being, because she realized too late that a dragon's tail was wrapped around her waist and slowly pulled her away. Oh please don't tell me. Unfortunately, she had to admit that the devil was waiting for her at the other end and grinned at her in love. "Good morning my pretty" his mouth formed into a kiss and his tail moved faster than before. Alicia tried to avoid the kissing mouth, but he still kissed her over half her face, which did not please Alicia very much.
"Did you sleep well, my love?" he asked her, wrapping his body around her. The fact that she could not move hardly didn't bothered him. No, he continued to cuddle her and began to purr while Alicia tried to free her arms. This proved to be difficult as he wrapped himself around her the more he cuddled with her.
However, he was not bothered by the fact that she could hardly breathe. But Alicia did. She could only catch her breath with difficulty and gasped. "Could you...please... gasp I...can barely...breathe!" she took as much air as she could but her lungs could barely take in air as the devil was almost crushing them.
He rubbed his nose against her cheek and purred even more, loosening his grip on her body. Alicia could breathe normally again and was glad about it. However, she was still in the grip of the devil who was now rubbing his dragon head against her body. "Oh how I've missed this" the devil grinned like a honey pie horse and stared seductively at Alicia. He wanted her to fall in love with him. However, she felt no love towards him and did not return it. Why should she? He had brought her here again. Against her will. And besides, she was already taken and married.
Of course, she did not fall into his arms and kiss or hug him. No, she showed him her back and pouted while folding her arms. The devil noticed that something was wrong. "My love, what's wrong?" he asked, stroking her cheek with his extra pair of arms, which she either pushed away and turned her head away so he couldn't continue stroking her. "I'm not your love!" she said annoyed.
However, the devil looked at her in confusion until he started laughing, confusing Alicia even more than before. "Maybe, but soon you will be my dearest" she didn't want to hear this answer, but what could she do about it? She couldn't escape at the moment anyway. Not because the devil would catch her, but because she was not lying with the devil in his bedchamber as she first thought, but in another one where many Imps were lying.
She was in a large sleeping chamber where many Imps lay scattered and slept. Some lay on rocks, others on the floor and others lay in small niches in the wall. Alicia could not escape at the moment without the risk of stepping on an imp's tail. No, unfortunately, there was another problem. She only now felt the chain around her waist that was provided with a lock and prevented her from escaping because the chain was also connected to the devil.
Don't tell me that... unfortunately it was. The devil waved the key back and forth and placed it in the top alcove, far away from Alicia, so that she could not escape secretly. He was not stupid. No, he wanted to have her with him. And very close to him. "You will quickly feel at home here my love" I rather disagree. She felt more like a prisoner. That was the opposite of what he thought.
"Now relax, my love. It will be a while before our wedding ceremony starts and I would like you to be well rested until then," he managed to stifle a kiss that Alicia had a hard time avoiding as she pressed against him and felt it fully. Not on her cheek, but right on her mouth. She felt sick and wanted to throw up. That's how the kiss felt to her. For the devil, however, it was very pleasant. His cheeks flushed and he seemed to be trembling with joy.
He wrapped himself around her even more. Only her head remained visible. The rest was wrapped around the devil's dragon body, which she suspected was not going to let go anytime soon. Of course it had to be worse, Alicia thought as she rolled her eyes and realized that the devil had fallen asleep. His dragon head, half the size of her body, lay next to her, rubbing against her head as he purred softly.
So finding a way out of here was useless. At least for the moment. Alicia saw no way to escape without waking the devil himself. Besides, the chain between her and the devil didn't seem to be as long as she had hoped. So there was only one thing she could do for now. Sigh and hope that someone would save her. Even though I hate being the damsel in distress!
"My love, why aren't you sleeping?" Alicia twitched and looked at the devil who slowly opened his eyes and looked at her. "I know what you're thinking." What?! She trembled as he said what was unnatural to Alicia. "I know you're thinking of escaping, but believe me, my dear, you don't want to leave our wedding gift here, do you?" Wedding gift, what is he talking about? ... She looked up. Slowly, her mouth opens wide.
In a cage hanging above them was the soul of Cuppy trying to free itself and get to the his soulless body hanging on a rake with the sweater and looking bleakly. "What have you done to him!" Alicia asked angrily as she tried to free herself but knew she was too weak. She... She surrendered.
Her eyes closed while a tear slowly flowed down her cheek. She knew that it would not help her to escape now. Giving up was the first option for the moment. And probably the only option. The Devil kisses her and closes his eyes trying to sleep. However, the devil did not suspect that his future queen will soon no longer be with him.
Not far from Alicia's position, Blood and Varian appeared in the underworld from a puff of smoke. Both appeared in the throne room, which was empty. No Imp or Demon was to be seen far and wide. Even the devil was absent. This confused Blood, who looked around. Varian, however, was confused and wondered if they were really in the underworld or just in a big cave. Well, if it weren't for the fire, one might think it was a cave.
"And you really think we're in the underworld?" asked Varian the wolf as he looked around at his bracelet. The signal told him that Alicia and Cuppy were not far away from them. "Trust me, we're in the right place," Blood assured him, confused as to why it was so quiet.
They both looked around to see if there were any Imps or Demons on patrol nearby. Blood already suspected that the Devil had set up guards since the last time, to make sure that Alicia didn't escape and that no one could rescue her so easily. Or, in his eyes, kidnap her. "The signal is getting stronger anyway, so they should both be close," Varian assured as he looked at the screen and guided the wolf.
They went around the corner and found what they were looking for. On a raised platform, the Devil lay in a large pile of pillows in his dragon form, holding Alicia captive in his grip. They also saw Cuppy dangling from the rake above the Devil and Alicia. His colors were no longer bright, but faded, as if he was getting on in years. The cage beside him contained his own soul.
"What a sick idiot!" the wolf growled as he clenched his left hand into a fist and slammed it against the wall beside him. Varian was directly below him and swallowed nervously when he saw the cracks in the wall caused by the blow. The young fox saw that the wolf was not weak and swallowed nervously.
However, the wolf calmed down again and thought about how they should best proceed. "Well did you have any ideas how we can safe both of them?" asked Varian. "I'm waiting for them to fall asleep" the wolf replied in a whisper, pointing to a few imps who were not quite asleep. However, Varian didn't want to wait anymore and went ahead on silent feet while Blood followed him. The Fox almost stepped on an imp's tail if Blood hadn't grabbed him while the Imps fallen asleep. "What are you doing?" Blood asked him. "Trying to free those two," Varian replied in a slightly annoyed voice.
Blood thought it would be useless to just go there without thinking about it first. What he didn't know was that Varian had infected himself and Blood with a small transmitter that made them both invisible. "Let me handle this," the wolf said and was about to leave when the fox stood in front of him. "Don't worry, we are invisible," he explained, pointing to his arm where a small octagonal white piece was attached that glowed blue.
Blood had one too, which also glowed blue. "With these things we can pass the Imps unnoticed without them noticing us," Varian might like that, but Blood knew that they should be quiet anyway. So he covered the fox's mouth and went on.
Both walked past the sleeping Imps and approached Alicia and the Devil. The grip on her body was loosened and she lay next to his body and continued to sleep undisturbed until she heard something above her and slowly opened her eyes. The cage above her opened as if by magic and Cuppy's soul wandered back into his body. Like Cuphead back at the Carnevil, Cuppy took a big breath and was about to say something when something blocked his mouth. He looked confused himself as he was no longer hanging on the rake but was lifted by someone or something that brought him down. Okay, what's going on here? Alicia asked herself, realizing that someone was standing next to her. However, she did not see this person.
Only when she felt something on her arm she could see that it was Blood who was accompanied by a fox. But she didn't care, she was glad to see him again and hugged him tightly while he tried not to fall down. She was glad to see a familiar face again. "Um, who's that?" Alicia asked in a low voice as she looked at the devil, who was still sleeping.
He didn't notice anything about the thing that was happening. "We introduce him to you when we get out of here" Blood explained and was trying to take Alicia with him and only to realized that a chain was wrapped around Alicia's waist with a lock that could only be opened with a key. "Damn it the key is up there" Alicia points to the alcove where the key is hidden. The alcove was high up and difficult for the group to reach. Well, for almost everyone except Varian who pressed a buttom on his boot and hovered above the floor.
"Don't worry I'll get the key" with a few foot movements Varian moved upwards and reached the alcove with ease. He looked through the alcove and searched for the key. "Come on where are you?" the impatience was evident on his face. But it didn't take him long to find the key, which was black and nibbled in places as if someone had bitten it.
However, that did not interest him at the moment. He had the key with which he could free Alicia. With it in his hand, or rather paw, Varian made his way downstairs to the others, ready to insert the key into the lock. However, the group suddenly realized that the bitemarks on the key were not there for a reason.
There was a little baby imp hanging from the key. This was a little smaller than the Imps, had small stubby horns that were just growing like a young fawn that just got its horns. The same was for the wings, which were still too small to fly. His fur was fluffier than that of the other Imps and didn't seem to be completely black. But rather gray-black. The eyes and nose had the same color as the other Imps and the devil.
The tail was also short, but still long enough to wrap around Varian's arm to continue chewing on the key he was holding. "Damn, we have to get rid of the imp," Alicia said quietly, trying not to panic. Varian, of course, quietly tried to remove the baby imp, who quietly went "Whoo!" as the fox grabbed him by the collar and gently put him getnly on the ground.
Relieved, Varian wiped away his sweat and used the key to open the lock, which released the chain around Alicia's waist and set her free. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you" she said relieved to be free again. She hugged Blood as well as Varian. Finally she was free and enjoyed this feeling very much. But she was only free from the chains and the grip of the devil.
They were still in the underworld and had to escape it first in order to escape the devil altogether. Therefore, the four went on carefully without waking anyone up. What none of the four noticed was that the invisibility slowly stopped working and the Baby Imp saw the four. Alicia was not his mother, but he felt motherly feelings towards her.
And how does a baby react when its mother leaves it alone? Right it starts to cry and scream. The four of them were just about to pass the sleeping Imps when Alicia, the last to pass, heard a whimper. Oh no... Blood, Cuppy, and Varian also heard it and turned to the baby imp, who was looking at the group with big googly eyes that slowly filled with tears "Oh no, no, no please don't" the baby Imp couldn't take it anymore and cried out loudly, "MAMA!".
"Uh... Hi?" Varian said nervously, as he and the others noticed that all the Imps in the sleeping chamber, as well as the Devil, had been awakened by the crying of the baby Imp. "Guys, I think it's time to go!" Cuppy and Blood agreed with Alicia and ran out of the chamber with her and the others.
The devil was furious when he saw Alicia standing next to the wolf and the cup and not next to her. His roar was hard to miss. "BRING ME BACK MY QUEEN AND THIS CUP AS WELL!" Oh damn we are done for! Alicia was reluctant to be in the devil's grip again, so she didn't hesitate long to transform into her Wyvern form and grab the others on her back so they could escape the underworld faster.
"Okay, since when can she turn into a dragon?!" asked Varian, who was a bit surprised by Alicia's transformation. Not too often did Varian see a dragon or even someone who could transform into one. "Well, it's actually a Wyvern. It doesn't have hands or claws like a normal dragon," Blood explained to the Fox, who wanted to know very little about it at the moment.
At the moment, the only thing that counted was the escape from the underworld and that Alicia and Cuppy did not end up again in the clutches of the devil, who is already on the trail of the four and does not think of giving up. "Damn, where is that stupid exit?" wondered Alicia, looking around in a panic for the exit. "I want what you took from me!" roared the Devil while the others looked around as well, holding on to Alicia. "There's the exit!" said Cuppy, pointing to a sign that ironically said "EXIT" in capital letters with an arrow pointing in that direction. Alicia followed it, not realizing that not only was she flying past the devil, but that she had misjudged the altitude.
She thundered her belly against the wall and threw the other three straight for the exit. Or close to the exit. Alicia, however, changed back into her demon form and tried to hold on to the wall with her claws so as not to fall down. For good reason, because the devil was standing right below her and only noticed that Alicia was above him and within reach when a few rocks fell on his head.
His grin was hard to miss when he saw her and how hard she was trying to climb along the wall without falling off. Like a snake he climbed up the wall and slowly approached Alicia who had no idea what was going on. But the others suspected it when they looked at Alicia and saw the devil slowly approaching her. "Alicia watch out!" shouted Cuppy. Alicia heard it and was confused until she realized that someone was approaching her from below.
She slowly looked down and was even more frightened than before. The devil now came very close to her while Alicia went into a state of shock and did not move. "Well, well. Nowhere to run to, Alicia baby, nowhere to hide" said the devil and came closer and closer. Alicia said and moved no more. She stood still like a statue and ignored the shouts from the others.
"Come on, be smart my little queen, huh?" said the devil "Fall down in my arms and be with me my queen". But Alicia didn't even think about falling into his arms. So she did what he and the others had not expected. She let herself fall and turned into a wolf. The devil saw this and was very happy, while Cuppy and the others were confused as to why Alicia fell voluntarily. But then the three noticed the evil grin on Alicia's face and how she slowly turned around and looked at the devil.
He grinned even more than before until he noticed that Alicia landed on his head with her paws and used it as a springboard to get to the same level as Blood and the others, while the devil fell down and changed to his normal form. Wolves circled above his head like stars before he shook his head and realized what had happened.
His queen was gone, and the one soul from the cup was no longer in his possession. You could tell he was angry. He was on fire again and was about to erupt like a volcano when he noticed someone nipping at his tail.
Baby Imp sucked on the end of his tail like a pacifier. This did not bother the Devil at the moment, as he calmed down and looked lovingly in the direction Alicia and the others had fled. "Ahhh how much I love her," the devil was still head over heels in love with her and did not give up trying to win her over.
"Then go ahead and go" he said, which Cuphead did. He removed the shield Mugman had knitted and went through the hole he had dug. But before he went in he looked up at his brother. "Are you sure you don't want to come?" he asked him, but Mugman shook his head. "Only if you don't come back after 10 minutes," he said. Cuphead nodded and went through the hole while Mugman hoped they could get out soon and save Alicia. He really hoped so, because leaving her alone with the devil would not be okay.
Unfortunately, even Cuphead's plan didn't help. Instead of freedom, he ended up in another room where a guard was waiting to throw him back into the cell. The guard brushed the dirt off his hands while Cuphead twitched from time to time, giving off electric shocks that his brother noticed when he stopped reading the newspaper and looked at his brother lying on the bottom bunk. "So it didn't work?" he asked him.
"I give up" this statement shocked his brother. "You're giving up? But you never give up!" said Mugman. But Cuphead sobbed while burying his face into the pillow "I give up not giving up" and he started to cry soaking the pillow with his tears. "We'll never save Alicia that way if we can't even make it out of here" Mugman mused. He didn't want to see his brother so desperate.
So he thought and came up with an idea how they could get out of here and jumped down from his bed. "Okay, let's go," he said. "What? What do you mean?" Cuphead asked him. "I can't stand seeing you like this" Cuphead wiped his own tears away "So we're getting out of here and saving Alicia". This cheered Cuphead up a bit "You mean it?" Mugman nodded. "But we're gonna do it my way".
With a squeaky cart full of laundry, Mugman drove through the prison past the guards and the guard dogs who were in their cages, growling as the cart passed their cage. Mugman swallowed nervously and kept walking until he stopped in front of the policeman standing in front of the entrance and exit of the prison.
The latter searched the laundry which made Mugman even more nervous than before while he was sweating like a waterfall. "Okay you can go through" said the policeman in a raspy voice and opened the door for him. Relieved, Mugman exhaled and went outside where he stopped in front of another gate that was still closed.
Why Mugman was sweating so nervously as he was doing now was because Cuphead was hidden in the laundry cart and realized that his brother had stopped. So he looked out of the laundry cart. "Mugman What are you waiting for?". "Every night at 1:30, a boat arrives with a laundry truck on it" he explained as he looked around and shrugged. A guard briefly looked into the area with his flashlight. "That's our ticket out of here" he explained. Suddenly a ship's horn was heard and the door opened. "Right on time". The ship was approaching the island.
From the boat came a car. It tur onits headlights on both brothers. Cuphead hid while Mugman closed his eyes for a moment. "Okay, here we go" he said but suddenly the two heard a low growl and turned around. Both hoped it was not the guard dogs. But it was not the guard dogs but a fellow prisoner. "Miss Cyclops, are you gonna rat us out?" Mugman asked her, but she shook her head and just showed him her blanket.
Mugman knew what she meant "Oh, don't worry" he said and rubbed her right toe. "Someone else will wash your blankie" she picked him up and looked at him with puppy eyes. "As much as I love prison, my place is with Cuphead, Cuppy, Blood and most importanly Alicia" he stroked her nose while she nodded and put him down. "Now, we've got a laundry truck to catch" he said until he stepped on something. Something sharp and started screaming. This, of course, alerted the guards. One shined his light on the three and turned on the alarm. The door closes and the guard dogs could be heard.
The two brothers were in danger of being exposed. Both don't want to get back in their cells. Ms. Cyclops felt that and got an idea. She removed her foot chain and connected it to the two brothers. Before Mugman could say anything, she hurled the ball in a circle and threw it over the prison. Both brothers were free and on their way home.
So were Alicia and the others. They saw the cottage from afar and were glad to finally be back. "Okay so your Name is Varian?" Alicia asked the Fox walking next to her. He nodded, "And you said you came from a world that was more technologically advanced than this one?" he nodded again. Cuppy was delighted by his statement. Not only because of what he had said but also because of the equipment Varian was wearing. "Yes, in my world everything is technologically advanced" Alicia imagined what his world looked like while the Fox explained what was in his world.
But before the fox could explain further, the four suddenly heard a loud scream and looked around in confusion. "Tell me, do you hear screams coming closer and closer?" Blood and Varian listened and moved their ears as both also heard something. Cuppy heard something too "Yeah that sounds like screaming" he mentions, startled when something large and heavy landed a few feet in front of them.
"Freedom!" was the only thing the four heard when they opened their eyes and saw the two brothers. Both were wearing prison clothes, but that didn't bother Alicia. She ran up to them and hugged them both "Oh I missed you two" she said. "Golly Alicia we didn't know you missed us so much" said Mugman blushing "Yeah we weren't gone too long were we?" asked Cuphead as he looked to Blood, Cuppy and the newcomer.
All three shrugged with their shoulders. No one knew how long they had been gone. Whether it was hours or days? No idea. But the important thing was that they were now safe. Atleast Alicia was glad to be away from the Devil. "Ah, home sweet home," said Cuphead. He wanted to open the front door and go inside but Elder Kettle opened the door. "Boys, Blood and Alicia! There you are" he said. "You just missed your friend" Um who? Alicia was confused "She brought my glasses. She sang me a song, oh she was so charming" he said as Alicia and the three cups as well as Blood looked annoyed.
Alicia went in first, not wanting to hear from her so-called "friend" but just wanting to sleep. Or that's what they wanted until Elder Kettle saw Varian and asked who he was. "Alicia went into the guest room followed by Blood, Cuppy and Varian while the two brothers went upstairs and ignored Elder Kettle's grounding. Elder Kettle was a bit confused about it, but he saw that the six were annoyed.
"And where should I sleep?" asked Varian, who noticed that there were only three beds in the guest room. "Hmm, maybe you could share a bed with Cuppy," Blood suggested. His bed and Alicia's were not as big as Cuppy's. Or rather it was a bit wider. "As long as Cuppy doesn't mind gladly" the cup shook his head. That settles the matter of where the fox will spend the night for the moment.
The devil, however, was still angry that his queen was no longer with him but had been kidnapped in his eyes. "This wolf, this fox and this stupid cup if I get my hands on them, then..." he calmed down again and took a deep breath in and out. He could let out his anger soon enough.
But not at the moment. He had to think again how he could best get Alicia to him without anyone of the others being able to steal her again. She was perfect for him and should be his queen. Next to him appeared Henchman and Amnon. The former pushed a serving trolley on which was a pot of fresh tea that Henchman poured into a cup while Amnon handed it to him, trembling slightly and shaking something from the cup. The devil was not bothered by this at the moment.
"Thank you Henchman and Amnon" he said as he walked away grinning. Everything was calm and quiet for him until he suddenly heard a sucking sound and looked at the tip of his tail where the baby imp was hanging yet again. He thought nothing of it and ignored him. His thoughts were still with Alicia. Henchman knew that as well as her rivals.
