I'm back to publish the new chapter of this interesting story. This chapter is somewhat different from others. Well this time the focus won't be much on the superhero action. This chapter will be relatively calmer. I bet many of you will like the theme of this episode.

Chapter 19: First Date
There's a new beginning for Spider-Guppy! Now things were going to change in both of their lives. It turns out that now one of the most beloved people in her life, Molly Jane Watson, knows that Gil Parker is Spider-Guppy. And not only that, both have admitted their feelings for each other and everything indicates that they are both going to start a new stage in their lives. This will strongly change Gil Parker's civilian and superhero routine. And not only that, things begin to improve little by little for our protagonist.
It seems that the relationship between Gil Parker and Molly Jane Watson is not official. However, both had intentions of getting there. Of course, they knew that they had to take their time and do all things in order. If they want to have something official and serious, they should start the relationship in a good way. Knowing the intentions from the beginning. And that's why they both made a good decision.
"Are you serious, friend?!" Goby asked very surprisedly.
"Of course. Molly and I are having our first date!" Gil said excitedly.
"Congratulations, man! I knew that sooner or later you would make it. You are truly amazing. Not only did you make things happen with her, but you are certainly in dating plans with her! What envy! And I'm supposed to be the girl conqueror haha" Goby told him funnily.
"Yes...I was a little lucky" He said remembering how he and she ended in that point.
"And when is your date?" Young Osborn asked curiously.
"Tonight. We'll go to Tony's Restaurant. It's simple for the first date" Gil answered
"Personally, I would have chosen a more elegant place" Goby commented.
"Hey! Not all of us can afford a reservation at a fine restaurant, rich guy" He said funnily. Both of them laughed "Besides, it was her idea. We want to take it easy, you know"
"Very understandable. No pressure. Things turn out better that way. Just show security and confidence in yourself and Molly will fall for your "nerd charms", hehehe" Goby advised.
"So funny" He said sarcastically. Both of them giggled. Goby's mood disappeared in a few seconds.
"(sigh) Nonny would be proud of you, friend" He said sadly. They both remembered him.
"I know. I still have faith that he will return... Let's just have faith" Gil gave him a small smile.
The day passed normally for Gil. Normal student routine, fighting normal criminals like Spider-Guppy, delivering pictures of Spider-Guppy to Jameson for the next day's newspaper. Although the day was a normal day, the night would be special. It would finally be his big night with the love of his life. The boy quickly arrived at his house to carefully prepare for his first date. Evidently, he wasn't the only person happy about the news.
"Oh my! This is a great day, Gil! So you finally asked her out?" Aunt May asked her.
"Hehehe...Well...It was she who proposed it to me" Gil touched his neck nervously.
"Oh! The girls now...Hehehe...Well, that means she's definitely interested in you. So...You must look very good and act gentlemanly (sigh) I remember my first date with your Uncle Ben" She smiled remembering that good memory.
"Do you still remember it, auntie?" Gil asked curiously.
"Of course! The first date with the person you love is something impossible to forget. I remember Ben and I went out to eat at a simple restaurant. And from there he invited me on a boat trip on the lake in Central Park. It was very romantic. Although by mistake we fell into the water and had to swim quickly to the shore to avoid catching a cold. It was very funny...but romantic" She giggled a bit "That reminds me of something...Here, Gil" May gave a small roll of bills to her nephew.
"Aunt May, I can't accept it. It is my appointment and I must cover the expenses with my money. You need that money for yourself" Gil said quietly.
"Please, dear. I insist. I just want to help you a little. You always help me with your work…" May insisted strongly. Gil, not wanting to continue debating, accepted the help of his aunt. He decided to dress well for the special date. Nothing that a white button-down shirt and black pants won't help. In addition to combing his hair and putting on a good perfume. The boy was ready
"What do you think, aunt?" Gil asked modeling a bit.
"You look beautiful, dear!" His aunt wanted to give more details until they heard that somebody knocked on the door.
"I will open. Possibly it's her" The blue-haired guppy said quietly. When he opened the door, a pleasant surprise appeared. It was Molly Jane Watson. She was wearing a beautiful black dress. She wore little makeup on her face and her lips highlighted the crimson red color from her lipstick. Gil was speechless when he saw her so well-groomed and beautiful "Huhhh…hmmmm"
"Hehehe….Face it, Tiger... you just hit the jackpot!" Molly winked at him flirtatiously. That caused the boy to blush intensely "Don't you think I went too far with my look?"
"Oh no no! You´re perfect" Gil said with a lovely smile.
"Thanks, Gilly! You look great too. You are a gentleman" She touched her own hair nervously.
"Awwww you two look beautiful together! Just don't come back so late, dears" Aunt May said happily.
"Aunt May!" He said ashamed.
"Hehe don't worry, Mrs. Parker. Alright, let's go" Molly said with a smile.
"Have fun you two!"
They both decided to walk to the restaurant. The couple had a comfortable walk under the city's night sky. Gil felt nervous, because he wanted to have a perfect date and not ruin it. In fact, he even had a hard time holding her hand. Gil Parker has never been on a date! Luckily, May and Goby gave her dating tips. It would have been better and appropriate if his uncle had given him advice. Molly was also nervous, but she managed to appear more confident. Finally, they both arrived at a simple restaurant. It looked like a place that served fast food, specializing in Italian foods like pizzas and other pastas. They both walked in and took a table for two. They both sat opposite each other. It was there that they were both greeted by a friendly host.
"Oh! But look who we have here. Gil Parker! One of my favorite clients hehehe" He was a rather charismatic senior guppy. He had little white hair and a peculiar white mustache. His tail was beige with green stripes. He wore a green shirt with a white chef's apron. Plus he wore glasses.
"Oh! Hi, Tony!" Gil greeted him happily.
"I see you brought a special girl tonight" Tony said with a smile.
"Yeah…Ahem…Molly, he´s Tony. Restaurant owner and a good friend of the family" The blue-haired guppy.
"It's quite a pleasure. Your restaurant is quite well known around here. I didn't know you were friends with Gil" Molly said politely.
"Hahaha Ben Parker was a friend of mine for many years! He helped me with the restaurant at the beginning. (sigh) May he rest in peace" The older guppy said quietly "Ahem! Anyway, today is a special night for both of us! What do you want to order?"
"Hmmmm If Gilly agrees, we can share a pepperoni pizza for two. And two soft drinks" Molly proposed.
"Y-Yeah…And an order of fries to share" Gil added.
"One pepperoni pizza for two, two sodas, and one order of fries for two. I have it! Please wait patiently and the order will arrive soon" The owner of the restaurant said before he left.
"Hey, I was surprised you chose this place, I thought you wanted to go somewhere more refined" Gil asked her surprisedly.
"Something simple is great for the first date. Besides, I didn't want you to spend so much. I know you have more important financial responsibilities. I just...wanted to be more flexible" Molly explained.
"Yes, I wish I had taken you somewhere more expensive..." He said with a low tone. She touched his hand.
"It's perfect here...It's perfect because I'm with you" Molly confessed. Both of them smiled "So, tell me...How was your day at work?"
"It was a normal day. Jameson always wanted photos to expose the "masked menace" Blah blah blah" Gil joked a bit. Both of them laughed.
"You did a great Jameson impression...And…" Molly approached Gil's ear discreetly so that no one would notice "How was your other job?"
"Oh…Yeah…Ahem….All in order. I stopped some bad guys stealing cars...I do things like that every day" Gil told her about his task as a superhero.
"It must be strange for you to talk to someone else about your other life" Molly commented.
"It's true, but you know... I'm glad that person is you" He smiled at her. They both saw each other with looks of love "Molly...Hmmm well...I...I wanted to tell you something important"
"Huh? Yeah, Gilly?" She asked curiously.
"Well...I don't really know how to start...There are so many things we should really talk about" The boy wanted to talk about very important things before he got interrupted.
"NOBODY MOVE!" That scream came from some uniformed men who entered the restaurant. They were armed and intimidated everyone present. They escorted a very important person.
"It just can't be! What are you doing here, Tombstone?" Tony asked surprisedly. The criminal leader Tombstone had entered the restaurant. He was a gray fish man with white hair. He had an elegant suit and was quite burly.
"I've come to collect your debt, Mr. Tony. You've been two months late and I won't tolerate any more delays. I hope you have the money ready, old man" Tombstone said seriously.
"It has to be a joke. I don't owe you anything. You were the idiot who decided to charge me a lot of money for "protection." Ha! As if I need protection from a zombie-faced man" Tony said bravely. The evil gangster didn't like that answer. He simply snapped his fingers and two thugs started beating him up. That caused fear among the restaurant's diners. Molly was outraged and she wanted to shout in her face how cowards they were, but Gil took her hand and guided her to an emergency exit very quietly. Both managed to escape unnoticed. It was a bit of luck, but they did it. They were alone in an empty alley.
"Gilly, we can't leave Tony alone! We must help him" Molly said worriedly.
"It's exactly what I'm going to do" Gil said before showing his date the Spider-Guppy mask he kept in his pocket.
"W-Wait…Are you going to put on the suit?...Here?...Now?...With me nearby?" Molly asked nervously. She blushed a lot, imagining certain things.
"Of course. I have it covered. Look" Gil said that calmly as he took off his shirt, revealing that he had the Spider-Guppy suit underneath it.
"Do you wear the Spider-Guppy suit under your clothes?" She asked confusedly.
"Obviously yes! It is more practical! Do you think I undress and put on the suit, and then take off the suit and put on normal clothes?" He asked while revealing the superhero costume. The girl didn't respond. She was nervous and her face was very red "And before you ask...I wash my suit frequently" Gil said before putting on his mask. Now it was Spider-Guppy in action. Before he left, Molly stopped him by taking his hand "Huh?"
"Gilly….Take care…." She asked worriedly.
"I will…you too" Spider-Guppy said before preparing for his entrance. He wanted to avoid appearing so close to avoid suspicion.
Returning to the restaurant, we can see Tony on his knees with bruises on his body. Bullies were jeering and restaurant staff and customers were scared.
"This is what happens to those who want to challenge me. In fact, we have to send the message to my rivals and the city...Bring the fuel" Tombstone ordered evilly. Some thugs brought a few gallons of gasoline to spread around the restaurant.
"What are you doing?!" Tony asked scaredly.
"I'm sorry, Tony. Your time to pay has expired. You will pay with your life" The mob boss said with an evil tone of voice.
"I don't believe it! You are worse than bank collectors!" A peculiar voice was heard and appeared behind them.
"Spider-Guppy!" The henchmen screamed in fear.
"Don't stand still, fools. Kill him!" Tombstone ordered.
The criminals take out their weapons to try to stop the hero. They started shooting at him. Spider-Guppy dodged all the bullets and fought them using his physical and web-shooting abilities to take them down. Finally, Tombstone decided to face him.
"Ha! Please, Tombstone! You should at least hire professional thugs...They were just a warm up" Spider-Guppy mocked him.
"Spider-Guppy, it's a pleasure to finally meet you face to face. I see Hammerhead wasn't lying when he said you were a pain in the ass" Tombstone greeted him.
"Wow, do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" He asked sarcastically.
"If I were you I wouldn't make fun of you so much. I am one of the most dangerous men in the city. And if I finish you, I will be number one" The gangster threatened him.
"Do you have any idea that you are not the first criminal to say that to me? Days ago I faced six supervillains at the same time. You are nothing in comparison" Spider-Guppy mocked.
"Ha! What do you think is funny? Good..." He began to crack his fingers and move his neck to make the crack sound. He was preparing to fight "Now you will see why everyone calls me: Tombstone"
The battle has begun. Spider-Guppy vs. Tombstone! The masked hero was in hand-to-hand combat against one of the most dangerous criminal bosses. Spider-Guppy had to be careful. He discovered that the blows did not hurt him much, because his skin was very hard and his resistance was high. With his semi-armored skin, it meant that his blows were dangerous. He managed to hit the hero on certain occasions.
"AGH!" He yelled in pain.
"Ha! Your simple attacks are no match against my stone skin. Who knew that my genetic mutation from birth would be of any use to me?" Tombstone said sarcastically. While he was speaking, the hero shot a spider web in his face "Ugh!"
"Has anyone told you that you talk a lot?" Spider-Guppy said before recovering and starting to fight again. This time, the hero was more careful. He had the advantage of being faster and more agile. But Tombstone was stronger. And he wasn't just brute force like Rhino. He was quite intelligent when attacking.
While the fight was going on, Molly Jane Watson didn't want to sit idly by. So she did something brave, she returned to the restaurant to evacuate the employees and customers. The pink-haired girl took advantage of the fact that several criminals had been knocked down by Spider-Guppy.
"Everybody get out here!" Molly ordered. She began to guide people through the emergency exit. Molly saw Tony weak on the ground. She decided to approach him and began to help him up "Come on…We will get out of this" She began to help him until she came across an unpleasant surprise.
"Where do you two think you are going?" One of the thugs said intimidatingly, showing his fists and muscles. In an act of bravery and risk, Molly took a broom and slammed it into the criminal's face so hard that she knocked him down.
"Wow! Nice done, girl!" Tony said surprisedly.
"Hehe…I admit it was the adrenaline" Molly admitted nervously. She felt flattered.
"By the way...where is Gil?" He asked worriedly.
"He…..He was calling the police…" Molly tried to sound convinced.
Spider-Guppy continued his fight against Tombstone. The criminal took out his gun and shot him. But he managed to evade the shots and used a spider web to snatch the gun. The gangster was getting fed up with him. So he tried to beat him fiercely. But he managed to avoid it and began to tie it with his cobwebs. He was strong at breaking the webs, but Spider-Guppy began to subdue him with a large amount of webs. To the point that the criminal was trapped in a huge white mass of cobwebs. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't free himself. Our hero decided to end the fight with a powerful blow to the chin. He used all of his strength to knock him out, which he did. Finally, Tombstone's skin wasn't so impenetrable after all. Although we cannot deny that the blow did not hurt Gil too.
Finally, the police arrived and managed to arrest Tombstone and his thugs. While the arrests were taking place, Gil returned under his civilian identity to the scene. Molly just ran up to him and hugged him.
"You were amazing there" Molly whispered to him.
"You were also very brave. I saw what you did while I was fighting him" Gil answered in her hear.
"Oh! Thank goodness you two are okay! I was very worried" It was Tony with his body bandaged.
"Oh Tony! Are you okay?" The couple asked him worriedly.
"Me? Ha! This old guppy will live another day hahaha. Everything went well thanks to Spider-Guppy. (sigh) I hope Tombstone stays in prison for a long time" The old man said.
"Knowing our legal system...It will last at least a few months" Gil commented pessimistic.
"The important thing is that we are all well and so is the restaurant. I will have to repair some things but this would be better than it having caught fire. Hehehe. Hey guys...I hope you guys can pick up your date here another day. I promise to give you a discount" Tony said kindly.
"Thank you, Mr. Tony" The couple thanked him. They decided to start their way home. That's where the couple started talking
"(sigh) I'm sorry, Molly. I wanted us to have a normal date. But hey...that's Parker Luck hehe" He said nervously.
"I admit that it was not the best first date. But wow! We fight against a mafia boss! It was intense. The important thing was...that we spent time together...Although I would have preferred a more normal environment" Molly admitted with a smile.
"Yeah….But I'm sorry to tell you that...if you want to have something with me, things won't be very normal" Gil told her.
"Understand. I think I'll take the risk. What I want is to be with you in your best and worst moments...Because I love you" Molly said with a lovely voice. Gil understood that he really hit the jackpot with her.
"Molly…..Do you remember that before Tombstone arrived...I wanted to tell you something, right?" Gil asked nervously.
"I remember. What is it about?" Molly asked curiously. Gil took out a small box. She was surprised because she thought he wanted to move on too quickly in her relationship. But the idea disappeared when he opened the box and showed that it was two small wireless headphones. These had a unique design.
"Listen, Molly. You are the most special person in my life. And you're also the only person I know who knows my secret. I made these communication devices just for us. With these devices I want to ask you if I wanted to become my companion. Spider-Guppy's companion. The thing is... I need support who is aware of everything that happens in the city and if I require information. You are the person capable of this. You are a good researcher, in addition to being the person I trust the most. From today, I will tell you all my secrets...because...Spider-Guppy can't do everything alone" Gil admitted one of his weaknesses. He always felt that he had to bear the full weight of the hero's responsibility. Molly took one of the devices and put it away. She gave him a smile.
"Gil, I'm glad you decided to trust me and be honest. I know this is a lot of responsibility. But I plan to accept it. Because I always wanted to help Spider-Guppy and that hasn't changed. I'm glad to know that I can help the person I love the most. Gil, I agree to help you...Although...it will be behind the scenes. Because I'm not sure if I plan to wear a tight suit, mask and shoot webs" She commented funnily.
"You know? If you want you can do it. I'm not going to sue you for copyright" Gil said with a funny smile. Both of them laughed a bit.
"Gilly, you know I love you, right?" Molly decided to get closer to him.
"Hmmmm….You'll have to prove it" Gil smiled at her. They both brought their faces very close.
"Hmmm fine…." Saying this, they both shortened the distance and their lips met in a romantic and calm kiss. They both enjoyed that moment alone. It seems that this gesture was a confirmation of the relationship that both wanted to make official. And also, Molly became Spider-Guppy's official assistant. A relationship of trust that both planned to strengthen and develop over time. They both decided to walk together towards their homes, holding hands. Unbeknownst to them, a person could see the entire scene with a smile on his face. It was Tony, and he was happy to see the couple together. He simply pulled out a bottle of cola and drank while he watched the couple leave.
"Hehehe. Excelsior!"
Oh! So we had a special guest at the end, huh?! A small cameo and tribute to a great character in comic history. On top of that, we had a breakthrough in Gil and Molly's special relationship. From now on, she will be more relevant in our protagonist's life. Things are starting to get better. But just as everything starts well, complications can arise along the way.

PrimroseRaspberry: Hello, my friend! It's good to see how Gil mended things with most of his loved ones. Gil (and Molly's) battle against Venom was just great. Personally, it is one of my favorite chapters. This could be the last time we see Eddie Brock/Venom... Or not? The revelation of Spider-Guppy's secret identity to Molly is a major change to the story. Plus their relationship is already official. It seems like she will be of help to Gil/Spider-Guppy. But what things will they have to face together from now on?
