There was a silence that stretched on for so long that Rosalie wondered if it would ever be broken. Everyone in the clearing was staring at the two girls who had just delivered the biggest bombshell any of them had ever heard.
Then, Marcus leaped forward and ripped Aro's head off.
The ancient was burning before any of them had time to comprehend what had happened. Sulpicia let out a startled gasp. Nobody moved, Volturi or otherwise, until Caius turned and ran.
The witnesses and the remains of the Volturi Guard scattered into the forest, and that's when it hit.
Cheers rang across the meadow as everyone watched Aro burn. Alec and Jane hugged each other and jumped up and down, Esme hugged her entire family so hard that it would have killed a human, and Kate leaped at Garrett, kissing him. Rosalie frowned suddenly.
"What happened to Alice?"
"Volterra."
Rose jumped when she saw Kierra right behind her. The immortal child blinked at her, then continued.
"Aro caught up to those two on the way there. They're in Volterra right now, but someone's probably contacted their guards by now to tell them to release them." The little girl turned and disappeared, but Rosalie noticed Gwendolyn watching Carlisle and Esme curiously. Esme seemed to notice, too, because she waved to the tiny girl. Gwendolyn's eyes widened with fear before she turned and ran after her sister. Esme sighed.
"Do you think those two will be okay?" she whispered. Carlisle hugged her.
"They survived for millennia before Aro, and now they're free. They'll be fine."
The vampires kept celebrating long into the night, and the next day. The celebrations didn't fully end for another month, especially since new vampires kept showing up. Nobody could believe it.
The Volturi's reign was over. The guard was disbanded, and everyone was happy.
Athenodora and Sulpicia returned to the castle in Volterra to find Corin in pieces and every painting in the place vandalised, with Aro's and Caius's faces ripped out. The two vampires began to remake the Volturi, establishing a council of six vampires that rotated every sixty years, stopping any one vampire from ruling for too long. As well as that, they found a metal that could contain vampires who broke the rules, almost ending the death penalty. The entire castle was revamped so that instead of a prison, it was a home. Any vampire who lacked a coven could stay for a while, and as well as that, there was a school there to help any newborn vampires with irresponsible creators. They even found a vampire called Diana with a gift to help vampires grow. This meant two things: any immortal children could be grown up, and she could help vampires get over anything that had happened. She was essentially the world's first vampire therapist. Her gift could age people by a maximum of eight years physically, and mentally she could keep helping people forever. Now, the Volturi were not even a government–they were like a help centre, for any vampire who needed it. Sulpicia, Marcus and Athenodora even went completely vegetarian.
Caius seemingly vanished off the face of the earth. He was never seen again, but Bella had a feeling he would cause more trouble in the future.
Alec and Jane were fully prepared for everyone to hate them after the things they'd been forced to do. They were incredibly surprised when, instead, Rosalie essentially adopted them. She and Emmett had taken a shine to the twins and vice versa, so Alec and Jane were living with the Cullens permanently. Jane actually burst into tears of happiness when Bella trusted her enough to let her shield down near her.
The Romanians had disappeared. Nobody had a clue where they had gotten to.
The Denali coven got a surprise when Irina showed up on their doorstep a week after the battle. It turned out that Gwendolyn had used her ability to sneak up behind Caius and grabbed Irina so fast that nobody had been any the wiser. That made everyone wonder how strong those two actually were.
Other supposedly-dead vampires began to pop up, too. Among them was Bree Tanner and her mate Diego, as well as…somehow…Didyme. She said that she actually had started to burn, but something had happened to save her. Nobody really understood how she'd come back, but Marcus definitely wasn't complaining.
The vampires went public one hundred years after the end of the original Volturi. Humans were wary at first, and things got especially tense after someone invented weapons capable of killing vampires, but eventually things settled down. Now, the Cullens could stay somewhere for as long as they wanted. Of course, there were still a lot of speciesist people out there—over half the world was still not happy about supernaturals. Overall, though, people were happy.
That is…except for two.

So...this is the end of the Fall of the Volturi arc, but there is more! Next is the Full Moon arc. Review!
Also, I have something to ask you all.
I've been getting a lot of PMs about commission art, and while I'm really happy that people like my writing enough to offer, I don't have the money to buy art. As well, I draw a lot too, so I can make my own art if I want it. Please don't send me any messages about commission art, because I can't afford it and don't need it.
