So Close, Yet So Far
A massive explosion rocked the field.
'This duel is over, Noah,' the Pharaoh declared.
Mayet stood calmly and watched, her hair flicking back and skirt billowing as Noah's life points dropped to 0.
'That's impossible!' Noah cried out. 'I can't lose!'
'I'm afraid you just did!' the Pharaoh snapped. 'So my friends are now free!'
Mayet turned to them. Smoke began to rise off of them. The stone shattered from around them, each gasping as they were suddenly no longer statues. Mayet looked down at Tristan as his robot monkey body took a second to reboot after such a massive system disturbance. A smile appeared on the robotic face.
'I'm back!' Tristan cried in relief. 'Well, almost.'
Joey coughed away the last of the dust before spinning around for his sister. 'Serenity!'
'Joey!'
The Wheeler siblings hugged tightly.
'You're all right!' Joey exclaimed, pulling back to make sure.
Mayet looked over at the Kaiba brothers as the stone encasement shattered around them.
'Seto!' Mokuba flew into his brother's arms and the Kaiba brothers hugged even more tightly than the Wheelers, if that was possible. 'Is it over?'
'Well, it looks to me like everything's back to normal around here,' Duke remarked. 'That must mean Yugi won the duel.'
'What?' Kaiba spun around, angry again. 'What duel?'
'Oh, come on,' Mayet said. 'You know Yugi's way too nice for his own good. You really think he's going to stand by and do nothing after that,' she gestured at the Kaiba brothers, 'happens? Of course not. And you did have 400 life points left when Noah decided to turn you both to stone.' She nodded her head. 'But, look on the bright side, it was you who saved your brother.'
Kaiba looked down at Mokuba with a conflicted look on his face.
Mokuba smiled up at him, and Kaiba clearly decided to let it be.
He turned and looked up at the two descending land masses.
'You've been defeated, Noah,' the Pharaoh said. 'Not just by me, but by all of us. For it was only with the support of my friends that I was able to win this duel. And the more you tried to destroy that friendship, the stronger it grew.'
They came to settle on the ground. Noah collapsed to his hands and knees.
Well, somebody doesn't take defeat well.
Mayet's lips quirked. Welcome back.
The Pharaoh stepped forward and started to approach the boy.
'This isn't how it was supposed to happen at all!' Noah protested.
'Listen to me, Noah,' the Pharaoh said. 'You've been all alone in this virtual world for six years, and it's distorted your mind.'
The Pharaoh stopped as Noah lifted his head and cried out, 'It's not fair! I deserve to be the President of KaibaCorp! And I would be if Seto hadn't robbed me of my life!' A look crossed his face. 'I want it back!' With that he ran at the Pharaoh.
The Pharaoh jerked back only slightly.
'And I'll start by escaping into the real world in your body!' Noah smirked. 'From now on, I'm you!'
The rest of their friends cried out in alarm, but Mayet only sighed and started walking over. Noah's attempt at possession was a bright white light. But then a golden light exploded out. Mayet came to stand by the side the Pharaoh as Noah fell back and landed hard on the ground.
'What?' Noah demanded. 'What's this? Who are you? Answer me! Your mind is full of secrets!'
'I saw the secrets inside of your mind as well,' the Pharaoh remarked. Then his eyes narrowed and he had a demand of his own. 'What have you done?!'
'Let me in!' Noah tried again.
With a wave of his hand and a bright flash of light, Noah was thrown back even further.
'What are you?' Noah demanded. 'You're not like the others.'
'Yugi!' Téa called as the rest of their friends rushed over to them. 'Are you okay?'
'Try touching me!' Joey barked at Noah.
'Stop it, Joey,' Serenity told him. 'Violence isn't gonna get us out of here.'
Joey growled in annoyance.
'You have failed, Noah, so it's time to set us all free,' the Pharaoh told the boy.
'And give me my real body back, pronto!' Tristan snapped at him, before inevitably devolving into the monkey sounds.
'So, you want your body back?' Noah laughed. 'Your real body's exactly where it's been since you arrived!'
'What does that mean?' Duke demanded.
'Enough with the games, Noah,' Téa said.
'Don't you get it?' Noah sneered. 'There are no real bodies in my world. Everything here's virtual. That means all of you too.'
'I don't get it,' Joey said.
'I do.' Duke explained. 'We're not just trapped in a virtual world, we're all a part of it too.'
'Exactly,' Noah said. 'Your real bodies are strapped into cyberpods that are hard-wired to my virtual simulator. So everything you've experienced here has only happened in your minds.'
'So that's why it seems so real here,' Téa said. 'Our minds are being tricked into feeling things that aren't really there.'
'Of course!' Kaiba exclaimed from behind them. 'When the floor opened up, we didn't fall into a virtual vortex. We were knocked unconscious and locked in your cyber simulation pods!'
And that's why Shauna only contacted us after we fell.
Dark purple clouds suddenly began to gather overhead. The whole group looked up. Mayet had a very bad feeling about those clouds. The feeling was only set in stone when she saw the surprise on Noah's face at their arrival. She slid a step closer to the Pharaoh and looked around.
Téa and Serenity gasped.
'Now what?' Joey demanded.
One portion of the clouds became denser and a voice echoed down – a voice that made both Seto Kaiba and Mokuba jump.
'You have failed me for the last time, Noah!'
Mokuba even slipped behind his brother a little.
'That voice!' Kaiba looked up, his eyes hardening and his spine stiffening. 'It can't be!'
Sharee noticed too. Judging from the reaction, I'd say...
'Father, no!' Noah cried out. 'Give me another chance!'
'Too late for that!' The cloud overhead seemed to pulsate.
'What's going on?' the Pharaoh asked.
Then, a face took form in the cloud. It was the face of a man with pointed features and a harsh scowl. He did, though, have a rather impressive moustache. But he looked no less intimidating than he did in Sharee's memory of the one time she had actually encountered the man.
'Gozaboro!' Mokuba positively identified him.
'Wait!' Noah protested. 'Not yet! Father, I need time!'
'More time?' Gozaboro demanded. He closed his eyes and growled, and Mayet was deeply alarmed at the notion that a man like this had any position of care over children. 'You've had more than enough time to prove yourself. It's time for me to finish things off now.' He spared a glance at the brothers – specifically the older one. 'That's why I digitised my own mind when Seto disgraced me by taking over my company. I wanted revenge! Now the time has come!'
'So, you've been behind this the whole time?' Kaiba asked.
Mayet felt a rush of admiration for Kaiba right alongside Sharee. After all, it was not an easy thing to stand up to your abuser, even years after the fact.
'Yes, he has,' Noah declared proudly. 'Right, father? And he's gonna give KaibaCorp to me!'
Gozaboro looked at his own son in disdain. 'You had your chance, Noah.'
Noah drew back with a shocked gasp.
'And you failed, son!'
At the reprimand, Mokuba looked over at Noah with compassion.
Kaiba wasn't happy either and growled in irritation. 'Look, pops, you had your chance also. And you failed when you lost KaibaCorp to someone more fit for the job.'
Gozaboro glared at him. 'You?! I taught you everything you know, Seto! You fool. You thought you could outsmart me? It's about time you learnt the truth about why I adopted you. After you beat me at chess, I thought you'd be the perfect person to motivate my real son, Noah, who was quite a slacker.'
'So you just used him?' Téa demanded in outrage. 'That's not cool!'
Serenity drew back. 'How mean!'
'And I've got a feeling it gets worse,' Mayet said.
'Hmph! Noah needed to work more on his study. I thought Seto could give him the push he needed to someday take over KaibaCorp. But then Noah had his little accident, and his body was rendered useless. I tried to preserve his mind in cyberspace, but I soon realised he was always be the same spoilt brat, unworthy of inheriting my company. So I turned my attention to you.' He looked directly at Kaiba. 'I thought maybe you could be the heir to my fortune. So I pushed you to your limits.'
'You gave up on your own son!' Noah snapped. 'And you trapped me all alone in cyberspace!'
If anything, Mokuba's compassion just increased. 'Poor guy.'
'Not at first,' Gozaboro said. 'Initially, I thought I could still use Seto to help you.'
'Use me?' Kaiba demanded. 'And what was it you planned to do with me, Gozaboro?! Force me to play chess against your virtual son to increase his intellect?'
'No,' Gozaboro said. 'Not quite, Seto.'
'Then what?' Kaiba demanded.
'I had something much more interesting planned.'
'Enough!' Kaiba snapped. 'Will you spit it out?!'
'Very well.' There was a sense of malicious glee in Gozaboro's voice. 'Even if Noah could learn how to run a multi-billion dollar corporation, he still lacked one major thing: a body. And that's where you came in, Seto.'
A look of abject horror came over Kaiba's face as he realised where this was going. Mokuba had a nearly matching expression and shifted closer to his brother.
'That's sick and twisted.' And exactly what Mayet had been afraid of.
'Yeah,' Téa agreed before demanding, 'You were gonna transfer Noah's mind to Kaiba?'
Next to Mayet, the Pharaoh ground his teeth in rage.
'Relax,' Gozaboro said, like there was nothing even remotely wrong with the idea. 'That plan only lasted a short time.' He looked at the two brothers. 'Noah's mind!' And he laughed. 'Why would I give you Noah's mind when yours was perfectly fine? So I concentrated on training you, Seto, so you could inherit my empire. But then you stole it!'
Honestly, Mayet couldn't see why Gozaboro was surprised. He had abused this kid and his brother to no end and then offered him a chance in his company. He knew Seto Kaiba was a genius. It would have been more of a surprise if he hadn't done something like that. Kaiba could be plenty vindictive when the mood took him.
Gozaboro went on. 'So using the same technology I used to download Noah's mind into my computer network, I digitised my own mind, retreating to cyberspace to plot my revenge. Then I built this place for my final plan: to take over your body myself.'
Kaiba let out a worried sounding grunt.
'Father...' Noah gasped. 'So you used me to trap them here?'
'That's the only thing you did right,' Gozaboro answered. 'But I'll take it from here. The fun and games are over!'
'You snake!' Kaiba snapped.
Gozaboro turned his attention back to Kaiba. 'I can't believe that you have the nerve to call me a snake. I was the most powerful human being on the entire planet, before you came along and stole that power away from me, Seto. Don't you realise that I treated you even better than I treated my own son?'
And that had horrible implications.
Kaiba seemed inclined to agree. 'Thanks, for nothing. And I'll make sure that you never regain your power.'
'You're too late!' An image of a satellite appeared next to his head.
'What's that?' the Pharaoh asked.
Gozaboro laughed. 'Just look. It's part of my newest plan. This is one of the many satellites KaibaCorp put into orbit when I was still in charge.'
'And what are you gonna do with that?' Joey asked.
Gozaboro chuckled. 'These satellites can beam signals to every computer system on Earth, and connect them back to the underwater base that holds my supercomputer.' He showed them an image of drones that sat there. 'No one on Earth will escape me! I'll have access to every home on the planet!' He laughed.
Noah clearly responded to any sort of negative feedback the same way. 'Please! That has to be the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard!'
'I'm surprised you feel that way, Noah,' Gozaboro remarked snidely. 'After all, the idea came from you. Don't you remember, my son?'
Noah's eyes widened. 'No!'
'And so, Seto, as you see I'm no longer interested in taking control of your body in order to regain KaibaCorp. I've set my sights on bigger things.'
'Lunatic,' Kaiba said.
'You can believe whatever you want about me, Seto,' Gozaboro sneered, 'because once my plan works, I'll be the most powerful being on the planet once again! And no one on Earth will be able to stop me this time.'
'Oh, yeah?' Duke demanded.
Gozaboro ignored him. 'Seto, Noah, this is about so much more than just acquiring one company. For when I'm finished, everyone on Earth will become virtual!'
Mayet squinted up at him in confusion. 'Why?'
'What?' he demanded.
'Why?' Mayet repeated. 'You and Noah worked out how to change this world to your whims. How do you know no one else will as well? On top of that, we're talking five billion people at a bare minimum. You can't watch all of them all the time. You do this and you don't have control of the world; you have a lengthy war on your hands.' She smirked. 'Building weapons for war and actually fighting them are two very different things.'
'Five billion?' Tristan asked. 'Is that how many people are in the world?'
'Roughly,' Mayet said.
Shauna's voice came from above. 'More specifically, 5.812 billion at last count.'
'And that'll stop!' Gozaboro snarled. 'I plan to digitise the entire world! And I will reign as the Cyber Ruler of the new Planet Earth!' He laughed manically.
'Over my extinct bloodline!' Shauna snapped from above.
YGO
In the real world, Shauna set the voice recording of Gozaboro's declaration of intent to several bodies all over the world. Then she moved over and, checking her own pre-set defences, she began the arduous process of hacking into Gozaboro Kaiba's satellites. He might've had control over the cyber connection, but if the physical thing wasn't working...
Soon, Shauna noticed that she was joined in her efforts by countless other hackers.
And not necessarily government-employed ones.
YGO
The Pharaoh considered the wisdom of following Noah into this cavern.
At the same time, after Gozaboro had left Noah had evidently decided to switch sides. There wasn't really a lot to work with. So, giving Noah the benefit of the doubt was all that they really needed to do here. The Pharaoh felt relatively confident that he was enough of a brat to turn on his father purely out of spite.
'My father's gone for now,' Noah said. 'But you have to escape quickly. And I know the way out so follow me.'
'And why should we believe you, Noah?' Joey asked.
'What choice do we have?' Duke responded.
They came to a machine buried deep in the caves with a control console. Noah ran for it. 'There it is! A possible exit!'
They stopped behind him.
Noah sighed. 'Never mind. This is one of several remote network stations built by my father. It can give us access to all of the program's emergency exits. But it seems my father has locked the system and closed off every exit to stop us from escaping.'
Kaiba narrowed his eyes. The Pharaoh felt the same suspicion. Judging from the look on Mayet's face, she also had her suspicions.
'When he showed up again after six years, he promised to help me,' Noah said. 'But he was lying. My father was using me.'
Mokuba looked more sympathetic. 'Noah...are you okay? Noah?'
'Are you sure there are no other exits around here?' Joey asked.
'Yeah, maybe there's a way outta here you're not thinking of,' Téa suggested.
'I've had enough of this monkey business!' Tristan insisted. 'I wanna wake up in my own body!' He wailed.
'We gotta stop his old man from digitising the world!' Joey insisted.
'And we can't do that from in here,' Téa insisted.
The Pharaoh cocked his head as he heard a quiet chuckle bounce off the walls of the cave. He looked at Mayet. Besides him, she was the only one of their friends who'd heard it. The rest of them were still talking about the problem at hand. They both looked back at Kaiba. His eyes had narrowed too.
'Very perceptive,' Noah said.
'Every virtual reality program has more than one emergency exit system,' Kaiba stated. 'So why don't you try thinking harder, Noah?'
'What's wrong, Seto?' Noah asked. 'Don't you wanna stay a while? We don't be alone in this virtual world for very much longer.' He turned around. 'My father said he's bringing the whole world in here. And that means I'll never have to be alone again.'
'Trust me,' Mayet said, 'it'll be worse. You'll be a pariah.' She nodded her head. 'Yugi, Kaiba. A word?' She moved to the back of the cavern. The other two followed her. Mayet switched to English...of a sort. 'Una-Shay, on't-day et-lay im-hey ear-hey.'
YGO
In the real world, Shauna frowned and turned her head. 'Pig Latin, sis? Really?'
Though, to be fair, Japanese people were unlikely to be able to translate it. Pig Latin wouldn't have been one of the languages Noah would have been required to learn. With a roll of her eyes, she hit a few buttons and blocked their voices from carrying from the corner they all gathered into.
Then she got back to her hacking.
YGO
Mayet turned to face the Pharaoh and Kaiba, all three of them standing in a small circle with their arms folded.
'I presume I'm not the only one who thinks this is a ploy?' she asked.
'Certainly not,' the Pharaoh said.
'This kid's not even being subtle about it,' Kaiba said. 'Of course it's a ploy. He'll find the "door" and it'll just take us into a different part of the virtual world.'
'And we're likely to all be separated again,' the Pharaoh pointed out.
'Suggestions?' Mayet asked.
'We'll have to play along for now,' Kaiba said. 'Shauna should be able to find the real exit window.'
'Agreed,' the Pharaoh said.
Mayet nodded. 'Agreed.'
YGO
While Seto, Yugi, and Sharee went to the back of the cavern, Mokuba moved over to grasp Noah's shoulders.
'Noah, stop! You gotta get a hold of yourself. You're in danger too, and we all have to work together now.'
'Mokie, you're right,' Noah said.
Mokuba jerked back.
'Calm down, Mokuba, it's me,' Noah said.
'I can see that, Noah,' Mokuba said. He turned away. I know Noah's an evil jerk, but it's not his fault and I think we can help him.
'Wait a second,' Noah said, 'something has just occurred to me. There is one more escape route here.'
'Where is it?' Joey demanded.
'Tell me!' Kaiba demanded as he, Yugi, and Sharee returned.
'It's a doorway that I created and it leads directly to the real world.'
Mokuba turned back around.
'I'm quite sure my father has no idea that it exists,' Noah said. 'You can escape and warn the world of his plan.'
'Then what are we waiting around here for?' Joey demanded. 'Let's go!'
'Very well. Just follow me.' Noah led them through the cavern, into another area. 'It's not too far from here.'
The group walked.
YGO
The Pharaoh hung at the back of the group, keeping a close watch on all of his friends as well as Noah.
Yugi spoke up in his mind as they left the cavern and entered some kind of a desert. Maybe you're all wrong. Maybe Noah is trying to help us now.
The boy was delightfully optimistic, but the Pharaoh had intimate experience with what happened when a person was isolated for too long. It was something that took time to recover from. The Pharaoh himself had only recovered with help from Yugi, and his exposure to Yugi's mind and soul.
But why? The Pharaoh questioned the boy.
His dad betrayed him again. So Noah must want to stop him as much as we do! Yugi looked wholly satisfied with that explanation.
Perhaps. The Pharaoh smiled indulgently. It was far more likely that if Noah was helping them, slim as the chance was, it was to get revenge against Gozaboro.
Come to think of it, Noah and Kaiba really have a lot in common, Yugi declared. They were both mistreated by Gozaboro, and they need our help to defeat him.
The Pharaoh smiled at the boy. Yugi's main desire was to help all the people he could; he looked for the good in people and sought out every way possible to try and help them. It would take time for him to learn that there were simply some people who couldn't be helped. Noah was, unfortunately, one of those people.
Well, let's see how this plays out first. But why don't you take it from here?
Yugi nodded.
They switched over. As they did, he noticed Mayet glance back and then she swapped places with Sharee.
YGO
The group followed Noah through the canyon.
'All right,' Joey said, 'where is this exit already?'
'There.' Noah nodded to a medieval-looking set of doors, earning gasps from quite a few of them. 'Your freedom lies beyond this door.' He turned to face them. 'Once you walk through, you'll wake up in the real world.'
Téa, at least, sounded nervous. 'I don't know about this, guys.'
The doors swung open, a bright light shining through.
'The real world is just beyond these doors,' Noah assured them.
And they didn't even have to walk through the doors.
YGO
Mokuba suddenly found himself standing alone at the park.
'Hello?' he called. 'Where is everyone?' He looked around. 'Huh? That's weird. Seto? I hope he didn't leave without me.'
'Mokuba!'
Mokuba turned around and was surprised to see Noah again, running towards him.
'What are you still doing here?' Noah asked.
'Where else would I be?' Mokuba asked.
'They made it out already,' Noah told him. 'Come on.' He turned and led him out of the park.
YGO
Téa suddenly found herself sitting on a bench in the park. This seems oddly familiar, like I've sat in this exact spot before!
She was suddenly surprised from behind...by Mr. Moto.
'Hey, you scared me!'
Then, she was suddenly strapped down to a chair at the pier again.
She tugged at the restraints. 'Hey! I'm trapped! What's going on?'
YGO
Yugi and the Pharaoh found themselves duelling Marik again...a duel they were both sure they had fought before.
On the ridge above them, Seto Kaiba immediately noticed the problem.
'What's going on?!'
Kaiba turned and stormed off.
And that was all Yugi and the Pharaoh needed to snap out of it.
YGO
Sharee landed and looked down at the Rare Hunter with a speculative look.
We've done that before.
Yeah...
YGO
'We're here, Mokuba.' Noah brought him into the arcade. 'The secret exit to the real world is located inside this arcade.'
Mokuba looked around. Something felt...off. He ran to one of the machines. 'Is it inside one of these video games?'
'Yes,' Noah said.
Mokuba sat down and tried to decide what to do. Just because he was the protected younger brother of Seto Kaiba did not mean he didn't know how to bluff and play the fool. 'Where is it? I can't wait to get back home!'
The hairs on the back of his neck were standing up on end.
YGO
Duke, Tristan, and Serenity found themselves running from Rare Hunters through the streets of Domino City.
'They're gaining on us!' Serenity insisted.
'Wait a second, you guys!' Tristan suddenly called out.
'Tristan, they'll catch up with us,' Duke pointed out.
'Look, just take Serenity and run,' Tristan said.
'What about you?' Duke asked.
'I've got some unfinished business to attend to!' Tristan ran back the way they'd come.
'Hold on!' Serenity called.
'Come on!' Tristan yelled back. 'Move it! Now!'
'I'm moving it!' Duke quickly ushered Serenity the other way. 'Here, Serenity. This way.'
And they quickly bumped into Mai and Joey in Mai's car.
YGO
'So, what was it you were saying?' Mai asked Joey.
'I'm...not sure,' Joey said. 'Don't you feel like we've taken this ride before?'
A flashback suddenly hit Joey of Mai being struck down by Marik's Millennium Rod. 'Mai, no!' The next thing he knew, they were parked just outside the city limits.
Mai stood overlook the cliff top while Joey sat in the car. Something weird is going on. Or...maybe not. Everything seems to be all right. Looks like Mai's doing just fine.
Joey got out of the car. 'Mai!' He walked towards her. He suddenly froze as another memory flashed into his mind.
Wait! Mai's not just fine. I remember something...And he couldn't remember he getting better, so it never happened. So...what was this?
The Mai in front of him turned around. 'Hello, Joey.'
'But you...?' Joey trailed off.
'Listen,' Mai said, 'why don't we stop duelling and just settle down?'
'Stop duelling?' It was such an out of character thing for her to say. 'For good? That's crazy talk!'
'Joey, it's just a dumb card game,' "Mai" said.
And that was even more out of character. Joey growled and shook his head. 'All right! I know this isn't real!'
YGO
With that one statement, the circuits fried.
And everyone lifted their heads and gasped as the very same knowledge shot into their minds.
...In Joey's voice, no less.
YGO
Suddenly Yugi, Sharee, Duke, Serenity, Joey, Téa, and Tristan were all in the park, standing together.
'Can anyone tell me what's going on?' Tristan demanded.
'I don't know,' Duke said.
'I do,' Sharee said. 'Noah didn't really let us out. Instead, he trapped us into reliving our own memories. Joey was the first one that caught onto it and knew for a fact it was wrong. The declaration stated out loud is what broke the illusion.' She looked at him. 'By the way, how'd you do it?'
Joey told them, visibly nursing a headache.
Sharee snorted. 'So they had Mai say something so grossly out of character and they thought you wouldn't realise it wasn't really her?'
There were chuckles all throughout the group.
Joey grinned. 'Yeah, you put it like that. It is pretty funny.'
'But, seriously, Noah tricked us,' Yugi said.
'Let's find that punk!' Joey decided. 'Right now!'
Shauna's voice suddenly came from above. 'No need.'
'Huh?' the whole group asked, looking up.
YGO
'Hey, Noah,' Mokuba said as he played a video game, 'I can't find the exit in here. This video game has so many levels. Do you remember which one you hid the secret doorway in?'
'You're close,' Noah said.
Mokuba started talking. 'I just remembered, you can't escape with us to the real world without a body.' He smiled. 'But I bet Seto can make you a body. I mean, you're our family, Noah.'
Noah made a sound behind him.
Obviously, it was working, so Mokuba kept talking. 'It won't be like your old body, but at least you'll be in the real world.' Mokuba stood up and hopped out of his seat to face his step-brother. Noah looked stunned as Mokuba talked. 'I'm sure the technology experts at KaibaCorp can construct some kind of a robot body for you. Hey, maybe we can be twins.' He laughed good-naturedly. 'After all, Noah, we are brothers, aren't we?'
Noah gave an awkward smile.
Mokuba went on. 'There are so many games in here. Maybe you hid the exit somewhere else. I mean, look around. Everything looks exactly the same in this place.'
'You're right.' Noah pointed. 'It's over there by that stage.'
Mokuba ran to the stage and Noah followed him.
'Up here?' Mokuba ran up the stairs. 'This is kinda cool, but where's the exit.' He moved across the stage.
'Right here!' Noah dived in.
He possessed Mokuba's body.
Mokuba's last conscious moment was spent crying out in pain.
AN: While flattering that so many people have asked to make webcomics about this series, I am actually not open to it until I have finished the series. Already, parts of the lore have evolved and changed from my original intentions and I expect more of the same.
So, thank you for the offers, but right now I'm afriad I have to decline.
