Kushina's heart clenched, overwhelmed by conflicting emotions as she gazed at Naruko—the daughter she had longed to hold for nearly nineteen years. Her child was no longer the infant she had lost but a hardened warrior, her eyes radiating the battle-worn danger of someone who had lived through countless wars. The intensity in those eyes was unlike anything Kushina had ever seen. They weren't the eyes of a shinobi trained to protect—they were the eyes of a relentless predator, shaped by a universe far crueler than the one Kushina had known.
When Naruko asked who she was, Kushina had been on the verge of telling her the truth. Her lips trembled as she whispered, "I'm your mother—" But before the words could fully leave her mouth, the ground behind her erupted with a violent crash.
A Ravener burst from the earth, its long, segmented body shooting up from below with terrifying speed. Its alien jaws opened wide, dripping venom, and its claws gleamed in the daylight, ready to tear into Kushina.
Kushina's eyes widened in horror, realizing that death was upon her. After all this time, after finally seeing her daughter, she was about to die at the hands of this monstrous creature. Her heart stopped as she braced herself for the inevitable.
But then—BANG!
The Ravener's head jerked violently to the side as a bolt round exploded against its face, sending fragments of chitin flying. The creature screeched in fury, still alive but injured, and Kushina fell backward onto the ground, her body trembling.
She turned her head toward the source of the shot and froze.
Naruko.
Her daughter stood there, holding a strange weapon in one hand, its barrel still smoking. The look on Naruko's face was one of cold, practiced determination. Without hesitation, Naruko charged at the Ravener, her movements fluid and deadly. The beast lashed out, but Naruko was faster. She jumped into the air, spinning with a barrel roll, landing gracefully behind the Ravener as she stabbed her power sword through its segmented tail, pinning it to the ground.
The Ravener screeched in pain, thrashing violently, but Naruko wasn't done.
With terrifying strength, she punched her fist into the creature's gaping maw, gripping the inside of its throat with her armored hand. In one brutal motion, she ripped the Ravener's lower jaw clean off, sending blood and ichor splattering across the battlefield. The beast's agonized screeches echoed through the air, but Naruko showed no mercy. She jammed her bolt pistol into its exposed throat and pulled the trigger repeatedly, the gun's explosive rounds blowing the Ravener's head apart. Blood and chunks of alien flesh splattered across her face and armor.
The corpse of the Ravener slumped lifeless to the ground, but Naruko wasn't finished. With a primal roar, she grabbed the creature's twitching body and tore it in half with her bare hands, ripping its torso from its lower half as blood gushed out like a torrent.
Kushina remained frozen in place, unable to believe what she had just witnessed. The sheer brutality of Naruko's actions was beyond anything she could have imagined. The battle-hardened woman standing before her was a stranger. Her child, but also something far more dangerous.
As Naruko wiped the blood from her face, more Tyranids—smaller but no less deadly—charged toward them. Naruko's reflexes were swift, her years of battle evident in every movement. With one fluid motion, she ripped her power sword from the ground and cut through the smaller Tyranids, slashing them apart with ease. Limbs and chitin flew in every direction, and blood sprayed across the battlefield. One of the creatures lunged at her, but she grabbed it by the face, her armored fingers crushing its skull with a sickening crunch.
Breathing heavily, Naruko scanned the battlefield. The rest of the Tyranid swarm that had come through the portal was moving—heading in a specific direction. Her experience fighting these xenos had taught her well. She could tell by their movements and behavior that they were moving toward a source of life, a place rich with bio-mass. The swarm would consume everything in its path, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.
Her eyes narrowed in realization. They were heading somehwere with life
Just then, a screech from above caught her attention. She looked up to see one of the flying Tyranids, a winged monster she had fought earlier, soaring overhead. Acting swiftly, Naruko extended her hand, red chains of chakra bursting from her wrist. The chains shot through the air, wrapping around the creature's leg without it noticing.
Before Kushina could react, Naruko was yanked off the ground, her body being dragged upward into the sky by the winged Tyranid. She held tight to the chains, her eyes fixed on the horizon as the creature flew higher and higher, pulling her toward the rest of the swarm.
"Naruko!" Kushina screamed, her voice breaking with desperation. She ran after her daughter, her hands outstretched, but Naruko was already too far away.
The tear in the sky had sealed itself shut, but now Kushina's mind was filled with dread. She turned, following the direction where the Tyranids were heading. Her eyes widened in horror as she realized where they were going.
The swarm was heading straight for Konoha.
Naruko was being carried toward the heart of the Land of Fire, and with her, the nightmare of a Tyranid invasion that could destroy everything in its path.
Kushina's heart pounded. "Minato!" she shouted. "They're going to Konoha! We have to stop them!"
Minato, still reeling from the horrific scene that had just unfolded, snapped back to reality at the sound of his wife's voice. His expression was grim, understanding the gravity of the situation.
"Jiraiya!" Minato yelled, urgency lacing his voice as he turned toward his old friend.
Jiraiya nodded, already forming a strategy in his mind. "We need to warn the village and prepare for battle. Those things... they'll consume everything if we don't stop them."
Kushina's hands clenched into fists. Her daughter—after nearly two decades—was back, but she had been pulled into a new nightmare. This wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
As they moved to regroup, Kushina's mind raced. They had summoned Naruko back, but what else had they unleashed into their world?
Konoha
Minato grabbed Kushina, Jiraiya, and the remaining ANBU—Yugao among them. Without wasting any time, he formed the hand seal for his signature Flying Raijin technique. In an instant, they teleported, arriving atop the Hokage office rooftop. The village stretched out beneath them, peaceful yet unaware of the storm that was rapidly approaching.
"Yugao," Minato said, urgency burning in his voice, "alert the rest of the shinobi forces. Begin the evacuation immediately—get everyone into the shelters."
Yugao nodded, her mask obscuring her expression, but her resolve was clear. Without another word, she disappeared in a blur of motion, body flickering across the rooftops to carry out the Hokage's orders.
As she vanished, Kushina took a breath, her hands trembling ever so slightly as she found the courage to speak. "Minato... Jiraiya..." she began, her voice breaking the tension in the air. "I saw her."
Both men froze, turning to face her, confusion etched on their faces.
"Saw who?" Minato asked, his heart pounding, already fearing the answer.
"Our daughter, Naruko," Kushina whispered, her eyes filled with a mix of disbelief and heartbreak. "She's grown, Minato. She's not the baby we lost. I saw her... but her eyes... they're so cold, so serious. She's been fighting a war, a war we can't even imagine."
Minato's breath caught in his throat as the full weight of Kushina's words sank in. He had succeeded—he had brought his daughter back, but in doing so, he had opened a door to a nightmare far worse than anything they could have predicted.
Jiraiya, sensing his friend's distress, placed a hand on Minato's shoulder. "Minato, calm down. We'll gather our forces. I'll summon Gamabunta, and we'll deal with this threat together. We can still fix this."
Kushina shook her head, interrupting him. "Jiraiya, you don't understand. These things are fast. They have weapons—energy weapons, I think. I watched them shoot down shinobi, tear them apart like it was nothing. But what terrified me most was how I saw Naruko fight. She—she fought like a monster. The way she tore apart those creatures..." Kushina's voice faltered. "She must have been fighting for years... maybe her whole life... in a world we can't even begin to comprehend."
Minato stared into the distance, his mind racing. This was his fault—he had brought her back, but he had also unleashed a horror beyond anything they could have prepared for. "What have I done?" he muttered, guilt settling in like a weight on his chest.
In the village below, the quiet streets had erupted into chaos.
Sasuke Uchiha, heir to the Uchiha clan, was patrolling the village as part of the Uchiha Police Force. The village had been relatively peaceful for the last few years, but the tension in the air had shifted, and something felt wrong. His hand hovered near his kunai pouch, his eyes scanning the rooftops as he noticed ANBU and Jonin rushing to and fro, their movements quick and deliberate.
He narrowed his eyes, deciding to investigate. Sasuke jumped from rooftop to rooftop, his agility unmatched, until he spotted an ANBU and approached. "What's going on?" he demanded, his tone sharp with curiosity and a hint of concern.
The ANBU hesitated, his mask hiding his expression, but his voice was grave. "There are monsters—creatures unlike anything we've ever seen. The village is being evacuated, and we're preparing for an attack."
"Monsters?" Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise. He had faced many foes, but nothing that could be called a "monster." Something about this didn't sit right.
As he made his way toward the village gates, Sasuke's instincts flared. He stopped suddenly, looking down at the street below, where something shimmered—something invisible but there. His Sharingan flared to life, and he yelled, "Look out! Something's behind you!"
Two Jonin near the gates turned just in time to see the creature become visible—a Lictor. The monstrous alien, with its hooked talons and terrifying mandibles, struck with blinding speed, its claws cutting through the Jonin like they were paper. Their bodies crumpled to the ground in a grotesque display of death, blood spilling across the dirt.
The shinobi nearby recoiled in horror, watching their comrades die in the most brutal way imaginable. They hurled shuriken at the Lictor, but the creature vanished, blending into the surroundings with terrifying stealth. The shuriken hit the ground uselessly as panic set in.
Sasuke's heart raced, but there was no time to freeze. His thoughts were interrupted by a deafening explosion. The front gates of Konoha were blown apart, a massive shockwave sending several shinobi flying through the air, some of them screaming as their bodies were engulfed in flame. Others were burned alive, their agonizing screams filling the air.
Sasuke's eyes widened in horror as a swarm of nightmares—Tyranids—poured through the destroyed gates, their claws clicking as they scuttled toward the village. Without hesitation, Sasuke leapt into action, weaving hand signs. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"
A massive ball of flame erupted from his mouth, hurtling toward the swarm and engulfing several of the creatures in a searing blaze. The weaker Tyranids screeched and burned alive, but Sasuke quickly realized these were the least of their problems. The ones he had killed were mere fodder.
From behind the swarm, a towering creature lumbered into view—a Biovore, its grotesque body pulsing with alien energy. Sasuke stared in shock, unsure of what this monstrosity was. Then the Biovore opened its spore mine launcher, firing living bombs into the air.
The spore mines exploded on impact, sending toxic gas and shards of chitin everywhere. Shinobi on the rooftops screamed as the gas filled their lungs, some collapsing as their bodies were shredded by the spines. Women and men alike writhed in agony, their screams echoing throughout the village.
Sasuke, too focused on the carnage, barely had time to react as a loud crack came from the rooftop he was standing on. He turned just in time to see the invisible Lictor reappearing, its claws raised to strike him down. His Sharingan caught the movement, and at the last second, Sasuke used Body Flicker, dodging away with barely a moment to spare.
The Lictor's claws slammed into the tiles where Sasuke had been standing, sending shards of roofing flying.
Sasuke reappeared a short distance away, his chest heaving with adrenaline. He needed to regroup, find the rest of the forces. But as he dashed across the rooftops, his eyes darted back toward the gates, where the swarm continued to pour into the village. He watched as the shinobi forces were slaughtered one by one, their bodies torn apart by the nightmarish xenos.
This... this was like the end of the world.
And Sasuke, for the first time in his life, felt true fear grip his heart.
Minato stood atop the Hokage office, the flames from the village rising into the night sky. The once peaceful streets of Konoha were now a battlefield. His heart clenched with guilt as he watched the chaos unfolding below, his mind spinning with the realization of what he had caused. All he wanted was to bring their daughter back, to reunite their family. But instead, he had brought a nightmare to their doorstep.
"How could I have been so foolish?" Minato muttered, his voice barely audible. He could hear the screams of his shinobi, the explosions shaking the village, the roars of the monstrous creatures echoing through the air. "I only wanted to bring Naruko home..."
Kushina, clad in her combat armor, placed a hand on his shoulder, her own heart heavy with concern. "Minato," she said softly, her eyes filled with determination despite the terror surrounding them, "you couldn't have known. None of us could. You can't blame yourself for this."
Minato shook his head, guilt gnawing at him. "But I did this... I opened the portal. I unleashed this horror."
Kushina tightened her grip on his shoulder, trying to snap him out of his despair. "Our daughter is back, Minato. Yes, we brought something else with her, but we'll fight. We've faced impossible odds before, and we'll do it again. Naruko... she's strong. We need to focus on stopping this."
Minato sighed deeply, still struggling with the weight of his mistake. "Where is Naruko now?" he asked, his voice tinged with both fear and hope. He desperately wanted to see his daughter, but also feared what she had become after years of fighting in a different universe.
Kushina glanced toward the village's destruction, her eyes distant as she recalled the moment. "I saw her earlier... she was fighting those creatures. She used her Uzumaki chains, but they were... different. Red, and they looked stronger—adamantium chains, maybe? But I've never seen them like that before. She wrapped them around one of those flying beasts and... and she went with it. She disappeared into the sky."
Minato looked at her, shock evident in his expression. "Red adamantium chains?" he repeated, disbelief in his voice. "That's... impossible. No one in the Uzumaki clan ever had chains like that."
Before they could continue their conversation, a sudden explosion rocked another sector of the village. Both of them turned in the direction of the blast, and their eyes widened as they saw a massive green explosion erupting in the distance. Flames and debris shot into the air, the shockwave rumbling beneath their feet.
Kushina's heart raced, her instincts kicking in, but a chill of fear ran down her spine. "What... what was that?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She had fought in countless battles, but there was something about this—the sheer scale of the destruction—that made her blood run cold.
On the ground, Konoha's shinobi forces were fighting valiantly, trying to hold back the swarm of alien creatures pouring into the village. Chunin, Jonin, and ANBU alike fought with everything they had, using their strongest jutsu to try and repel the invaders. Fireballs, lightning, and wind tore through the streets, cutting down hordes of the weaker xenos. For a moment, it seemed like they were pushing back the tide.
But it was only a brief reprieve.
From the swarm, stronger xenos emerged, creatures even more terrifying than the ones before. Among them, a massive Hive Tyrant stomped through the streets, its towering form dwarfing the buildings around it. Its body was armored in thick, chitinous plates, and its monstrous talons swung through the air with deadly precision.
The shinobi forces charged at it, kunai and jutsu flying toward the creature. But the Hive Tyrant was unstoppable. With a single swipe of its talon, it cleaved through a squad of shinobi, sending their bodies flying through the air in pieces. Blood sprayed across the streets, mixing with the already blood-soaked ground.
Screams echoed through the village as the Hive Tyrant cut down more shinobi, its movements swift and brutal. Organs and limbs littered the battlefield, a grotesque display of the carnage that was unfolding. The shinobi fought with everything they had, but their efforts were futile against the might of the xenos. The air was thick with the stench of blood, death, and burning flesh as the once-proud defenders of Konoha were slaughtered one by one.
It was as if hell had arrived at the gates of the village.
Above the chaos, Minato and Kushina watched in horror, their hearts breaking as they witnessed the massacre of their people. The guilt weighed even heavier on Minato's shoulders as he saw the destruction unfold before him. He had brought this upon his home. His people were dying, and he could do nothing but watch.
Kushina gripped the railing of the rooftop, her knuckles turning white. "Minato," she whispered, her voice trembling with fear, "this... this is more than we can handle. Those things... they're too strong."
Minato clenched his fists, his mind racing as he tried to come up with a plan. His daughter was out there, fighting these monsters, but so were his people—the shinobi he had sworn to protect. "We have to stop them," he said, his voice low but determined. "We can't let them destroy everything we've built."
But deep down, even he wasn't sure if they could win this battle. The swarm was relentless, and Konoha was quickly being overrun. Naruko was their only hope now, but where had she gone? And could even she, with all her strength, stop this nightmare from consuming their world?
In the distance, the Hive Tyrant let out a bone-chilling roar, its massive form looming over the village like a shadow of death. Its blood-soaked talons gleamed in the firelight as it tore through yet another group of shinobi, leaving nothing but a trail of carnage in its wake.
Outside of Konoha
igh above the skies of the Elemental Nations, the bright sun and gentle clouds belied the chaos unfolding below. A massive Harridan, the terrifying flying bioform of the Tyranid, burst through the clouds with an ear-splitting screech. Riding on its back, Naruko Uzumaki fought fiercely against a swarm of Gargoyles, their insectoid wings beating rapidly as they attacked her from all sides.
Naruko dodged their bio-plasma shots with agile twists of her body, using her power sword to deflect the ones that came too close. Her bolt pistol barked with deafening roars, firing precision headshots that blasted through the Gargoyles' skulls, sending them plummeting from the skies. One Gargoyle managed to grab her from behind, but Naruko spun, elbowing it with such force that she shattered its ribcage. In one fluid motion, she spun and delivered a straight punch that detached its head clean off its body, blood spraying into the wind.
More Gargoyles descended upon her, their shrieks mixing with the Harridan's as they tried to overwhelm her. Naruko roared in fury, her primal instincts kicking in as she brutally slaughtered the creatures, tearing through them with her fists, sword, and guns. Her eyes were cold, unyielding, filled with a warrior's fury as she fought. Red Uzumaki chains burst from her back, swatting away Gargoyles and preventing them from swarming her. Her rage echoed across the skies.
The Harridan began to descend rapidly, diving toward the ground below. Naruko struggled for balance but managed to hold on, her chains keeping her tethered to the massive beast. As they neared the surface, Naruko saw the swarm of Tyranids attacking a distant village. Her eyes narrowed as she realized the Harridan was leading an assault on this village. Without hesitation, Naruko reached into one of her many hidden fūinjutsu storage seals—tattooed into her armor and skin—pulling out a power spear and storing her sword in its place.
With the Harridan diving faster, Naruko stabbed the power spear deep into the creature's back, just above its brain. As the spear embedded itself into the beast, Naruko summoned her power hammer, charging it with lightning chakra. She raised the hammer high and slammed it down with all her might onto the spear, sending a surge of electrical energy coursing through the Harridan's body. The creature screeched in agony as the lightning overloaded its nervous system, frying its synapse connections and killing the remaining Gargoyles connected to it.
The Harridan convulsed violently, its massive body crashing uncontrollably toward the village below.
Konoha
Back in the village, Konoha's shinobi forces were desperately trying to hold the line against the relentless onslaught of the Tyranid swarm. Minato used his Flying Raijin technique to teleport through the battlefield, cutting down lesser Tyranids with kunai and Rasengan alike, but the numbers were overwhelming. The shinobi were losing ground.
Jiraiya, in sage mode, had summoned Gamabunta to help in the battle, but the great toad was taken down by the acidic spores of a Biovore, the corrosive poison eating away at its flesh. Jiraiya barely escaped with his life as the massive toad collapsed.
Kushina, surrounded by her shadow clones, fought valiantly. Her chakra chains lashed out, stabbing and binding multiple Tyranids at once, but there were too many. Her chains skewered the xenos, yet still, they came. "There are too many!" she shouted to Minato, the desperation in her voice clear. They couldn't hold out much longer.
Her heart skipped a beat as she saw massive Hierophants breaking through the village's ruined gates, their towering, grotesque forms dwarfing the village defenses. The bio-cannons on their backs fired relentlessly, each shot impacting the ground with devastating force, vaporizing shinobi caught in the blast. She could hear the blood-curdling screams of those hit by the cannons—skin melting, bones disintegrating in the acidic explosions. The sight filled her with dread.
Kushina's eyes widened in horror, despair settling deep within her. She had brought this destruction to her village because she missed her daughter. Tears welled in her eyes as the realization sank in. The village was going to fall, and it was her fault.
But then... the unexpected happened.
A shadow fell over the battlefield as the Harridan, now lifeless, crashed into the earth, slamming down on top of the Hierophants. The massive Tyranids were crushed under the impact, their bodies flattened like insects beneath a boot. The shockwave from the Harridan's fall sent a cloud of dust and debris rolling across the battlefield, momentarily disorienting both friend and foe alike.
As the dust began to settle, Kushina coughed and wiped her eyes. When the smoke cleared, her gaze fixed on the giant carcass of the Harridan, and her heart stopped.
Standing atop the dead creature, bathed in blood and gore, was Naruko.
Her daughter.
The entire battlefield seemed to freeze in shock, the Konoha shinobi and Tyranids alike pausing at the sight of the fearsome warrior standing on top of the felled Harridan. The shinobi forces stared in awe and confusion, unsure of who this girl was, or how she had taken down such a massive beast. But Kushina knew. She recognized that stance, that fierceness in her eyes.
Sasuke Uchiha, watching from a distance, felt his breath hitch. His eyes widened in disbelief. Who is this girl? He had never seen someone with such raw power, such terrifying skill. The way she had singlehandedly killed two of the Tyranids' most dangerous beasts was beyond anything he'd ever witnessed.
As the surviving Tyranids turned their attention toward Naruko, drawn to the threat she posed, she summoned her power sword once again in her left hand, and her power hammer in her right. Her expression was hard, resolute, as she whispered her war cry under her breath.
She didn't know exactly where she was—this place felt foreign to her—but it didn't matter. All she knew was that the Tyranids were here, and that meant only one thing:
They had to die.
As the swarm of Tyranids charged toward her, Naruko screamed in fury, leaping from the carcass of the Harridan and charging headfirst into the oncoming xenos, her weapons raised high, ready to kill.
The battlefield roared to life once more, but now, with Naruko at the forefront, the tides of war were about to change.
to be continued...
Hope you guys enjoy this chapter, but damn writing warhammer stuff is hard, but good because I learn things of the lore.
