"We had an agreement," his voice was calm, no hint of the anger he felt, not that it mattered, Madara already owned him.

"And I have fulfilled my part of the agreement many times my dear Sasuke." He stood from his chair, walked around his desk only to lean on it, "so many times in fact I have lost count. You on the other hand have failed to deliver on your promise."

"I have provided six of the tailed-beast." His voice was sharper than intended.

"Yes," Madara agreed nonchalantly, "six of nine. How many centuries has it been now?"

"That is irrelevant."

"I disagree, strongly at that." He shrugged his shoulders, not betraying a hint of his own frustrations. As if this disagreement mattered little, maybe it did. Whatever Madara's reasons, no matter the order, he would listen, he would obey. "It has been at least two millenniums since we made our deal, I have allowed your little mortal's soul to be reincarnated countless times. Her soul never traverses the normal path, she gets in, she goes out."

"Then why is she not alive?" This time his anger did come through.

"Simple, I have been experimenting with her soul." Sasuke activated his sharingan, his fury too strong to be contained, "there was something I was curious about."

"That does not give you the right to experiment on her soul."

"But it does, it is mine to do with as I wish. I broke some rules, as you did, for your mortal, in the process her soul became my property, I can do with it as I please."

"Our agreement was you would pull her soul from the journey, and reincarnate it, in turn you would have my loyalty, you are not complying with your side."

"As I have informed you, I have complied with my side of the agreement countless times. It is you who is failing theirs."

"Let her soul be."

The warning was impossible to miss, this made Madara laugh. "Or what? There is so much you do not know or have yet to consider. What will you do? Tell the other gods what you have done?" Sasuke did not reply, aware that he was losing this fight but refusing to lay all his cards on the table.

"You are impulsive, the tailed beast, I may have them, but it was you who captured them, even the beast would not recognize me as their captor." Madara's hands were clean of the matter, no one would believe him Sasuke realized. "As for your little mortal, what purpose would I have in bringing a human back, again and again? Everyone is aware of the affair you had with the mortal, would it not be you who forced her soul to be reincarnated?"

"You said so yourself, her soul is yours, there is a link."

"I see there is a lot you never considered," Madara's calm irked Sasuke, and he felt himself losing even the ground he was standing on. Before he could question him however Madara explained, "did you never consider why I would bring your mortal's soul back? Her soul was set to rest peacefully and joyously for all eternity." Sasuke hadn't, at the time he was happy for the chance to see her again. He had chosen to assume that his promised loyalty was the reason. Over the centuries however, it was clear that Madara knew his loyalty to him was weak, an infant could pull at the string and untangle it all, his loyalty was to her, always her. "Your soul, my soul, they are quite similar, did you know? Very synchronized."

Yes, he knew, he could hear his father's voice as clearly as if he stood next to him, " there is too much Madara in you I would question your mother if I didn't know otherwise." He pulled himself from his thoughts, "what of it?"

"Any link I share with her, is a link you share with her. You will never be capable of moving souls, as I, but they do not know that. Everything points to you, that in a desperate attempt turn your little mortal into a goddess, you began to hunt down the tailed beasts." Madara smirked, aware of the victory he had just sealed, "they will doom her soul."

Sasuke was silent, surprised by Madara knowing of his plans. He had always intended of betraying Madara, taking the beast himself, and using them to transform Sakura. He had just been buying time to get stronger, "how long have you known?"

"Does it matter? Bring me another tailed beast, she will not be reborn until you do, does not matter which. As fun as this has been, I'm tired of this game."

A/N: so I found this on my laptop... I vaguely remember my intentions with this so I dared to touch it up a bit... but this would be a reincarnation story, again the details of this story are mostly forgotten...

sorry for no updates on unexpected and not working on timely, life and writer's block got in the way... though with timely its an avoidance of the shitty writing... I cringe as I fix it.. how did anyone decide to follow it is beyond me... to get through my writer's block I'm going to be looking through my phone and laptop and seeing what I find... so there may be more updates coming to beginnings
