He had always hated fanfiction, until today and this led him to only one choice, to throw his phone on his bed. Fanfiction is the lazy form of writing, he reminds himself, this writer just got lucky with their piece. They were stealing his characters, his ideas, even some of his plot. Throughout the years he had even explicitly stated his dislike of fanfiction. Informing his audience how he found it disrespectful offensive even how fanfiction writers twisted the tale of the original author, if they were truly fans why would they change the story? The characters? The world?

Sasuke threw himself on his bed, wanting his phone back to continue the story, because he may hate fanfiction, but he was kind of very much so super invested in what happened next. He was supposed to hate this story, this thievery, he had scoffed when Itachi had recommended it to him. Assumed his brother was only doing so to bother him, to push him into writing the sequel, and while he still hated the story, he hated it for a completely different reason.

This story is still thievery, Sasuke decided as he unlocked his phone to continue reading. However, there was one undeniable fact, it was also better than anything he had ever written, and he was a best-selling author. Once he finished the chapter, he was disappointed to discover that was the end, it ended with a note from the author:

Hey guys, I know I normally do weekly updates but I'm going to be super busy these next few days so idk when I will be able to update again.

The audacity to have him so invested in a story only to not get the chance finish it, this, he realized had been Itachi's intention. He checked the date for the last update, two months ago. What was he supposed to do now?

He laid down on his back he looked at his ceiling, this writer had ruined him. He had read the reviews before reading it, and so many questioned if the writer was him under a pen name. Some argued in the comments why would someone who writes under a pen name need to disguise themselves further. He had initially found the comments to be flattery for flattery's sake. Now, his whole outlook was different, this writer had found the little hints he littered in the first book and ran with it. They basically had written the sequel and was worse they had written it better than he had.

Sasuke was tempted to go to his laptop and delete everything he had already written for the sequel. Was he so predictable? No, he recalled the comments, how so many were dumbfounded by the twist, by how the author had written used things from the original back they had not paid attention to. This fanfiction author was without a doubt in his mind amazing, and he did something he never thought he would ever do.

He grabbed his phone and made a call, it rang a few times before he answered. Without a greeting he began, "Kakashi, there is a fanfiction writer who I need you to find, they go by the name theblossomingspring."

"I found Pakkun today, thank you for asking."

"He was missing?"

"Scariest five minutes of my life. You said theblossomingspring?"

"Yes."

"So, really isn't you?" The surprise in Kakashi's voice took him aback, but before he could question him Kakashi spoke again, "here I thought you were finally listening to my advice." Sasuke hung up on him, knowing well Kakashi lived to point out the flaws in his writing if for no other reason than to make him scowl. However, he was now more determined to find this author since apparently even Kakashi had thought it was him writing it.

A/N: had this idea for some time but I didn't really have a grasp on it until I decided to have Sasuke hate fanfiction... anyway someone asked about Timely on here and I swear I am working on it... slowly but working on it I just still don't feel all there yet, like the best way to describe my current mindset is that I did not know how much comfort there was in simply knowing someone is fine. The fact that this idea was able to fix itself was really a surprise to me, and like the most normal I have felt all year

anyway updates on my writing and such are on my tumblr tentativewriter... I mean I usually post up there when a new update is coming or hold ups so if you wish to keep up follow me there. If not we shall continue this mysterious relationship of you never knowing when an update comes, which is great too, life is fun with surprises here and there. as always thanks for reading.
