Sakura did not bother to disguise the disgust at the words spoken."Money cannot buy you happiness." Clearly they were spoken by someone that did have the money to buy their happiness. She did not comment or express her frustration at the words, the words were not meant for her, she was simply a passerby, a stranger without a face in the path of these rich bimbos. She was almost disappointed in herself for referring to them as such, but in her defense, it was not sexist if she was referring to everyone in the club as such. Still, however she walked the club, pretending to not notice the strange gazes she was given or the lustful ones.
She was in a hurry, she needed this fateful chance encounter to go well. She had studied, her target. Uzumaki Naruto, the only son of Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina, a hopeless romantic who dreamed of finding a love like his parents. Known as the womanizer of Konoha due to his inability to stay in a relationship longer than two months.
Sakura had not limited herself to studying his habits, and schedule, no she was not stupid, a man like him would dump her as quickly as the other girls if she was not careful. She studied his girlfriends, followed any rumors of a one night stand. The mistake most would make is to become what he had gone for pretty face, nice legs, ambitious, sexy, confident.
It would have been easy, she was not vain but she already checked all those boxes. However, she decided to go for the opposite, because clearly those girls had been dumped. Abandoned, left behind become a thing of the past, it was almost like he had a type and didn't know. She decided to approach him differently, so here she was in the nicest club in Konoha were the rich assholes liked to go in jeans and a semi dressy blouse that showed just a little bit of cleavage. Seriously, if it wasn't for her face there was no way she could have gotten in.
She needed to seem shy, innocent, anything but sexy. She needed this chance, because if there was one thing she was one hundred percent certain of is that money can buy you happiness. She spotted the head of blonde hair, approached slowly, waiting for her chance to make her move, she pretended to still be looking around. It would be too strange if she suddenly stopped after all, she heard his laughter over the loud music. There was a tightly dressed brunette by his side, she could see it in the way they looked at each other that she needed to make her move fast.
So she did. She caught his attention in the simplest way, by passing in front of him at just the right time, pretending to look for someone. There was one very important thing she learned about Naruto, he loved helping. This man lived to offer help, it was in his DNA, from a cat, to a child, if anyone looked even slightly uncomfortable or unhappy he was quick to intervene.
"Hey!" She would have missed his voice except she was listening for it, she pretended she didn't hear him. "Hey! You looking for someone?" Bless his heart, stronger than his lust by the glare the girl at his side was giving her.
"Sorry," she gave him a sheepish smile, avoiding eye contact, "I-I'm looking for my friends," lies, she had none, but being left at a club full of assholes was a good excuse as any to end a friendship or two.
The girl at his side was appraising her girls, were harder to trick. Especially one that clearly approached Naruto for the same reason she had. Clearly they had different methods though, the brunette was clearly more interested in the easy method, baby trapping. She had no interest in a proper investment. "Can you describe your friends? Maybe I can help you look for them?" She offered in such a ridiculously sweet tone that Sakura wanted to roll her eyes. Clearly she didn't want Naruto to offer anything, clearly based on Sakura's meek, and docile appearance she expected the answer already,
"Thank you, but I think I can find them by myself." That was it, all it took to get his attention. All she needed was to look out of place, to give him a chance to play the hero in some way.
"Don't say that, look maybe your friends are looking for you and you keep missing each other. Just wait here with us, me and Suzuki-chan-" the brunette interrupted him, Sakura did not catch what she said but heard the outcome, "oops sorry! Risu-chan and I would love to have you with us."
"I-," Sakura began to protest but was quickly shut down.
"C'mon, we insist." He stood up from his seat, grabbed her by the wrist, and pulled her to sit next to him, putting her in his original spot and next to the very unhappy brunette.
"I really don't think I should," Sakura tried again.
"Do it for me, okay?" She looked to him then, the first time in their short conversation she did. She knew her eyes were a weapon, she knew they are her best feature, so she made certain he would see her eyes. She saw it, she saw the moment he fell.
She choose him for one simple reason, his relationships did not end because they started with lust. Naruto had truly believed himself to be in love he was not a man of lust, sure he had his one night stands, but those were rare. Naruto started all his relationships because he was quick to fall, she just needed to make sure that when he falls for her, he stays down which if she was honest with herself seemed like the easiest bit.
He smiled at her shyly, "I'm Naruto by the way, I mean I can't have you sitting here with a stranger," He offered her his hand, she took it.
"I-I'm Sakura."
A/N: does Sakura remind you guys of someone?
Also why do I find it easier to write from Sasuke's perspective than Sakura's? The writing feels stiff, idk how else to describe it. Anyway, thought it would be fun to write Sakura making her move on Naruto. It's a hard perspective, but again Beginnings is for ideas and to have fun.
on that note... I think I have too many ideas and not enough time or brain power to develop them all. I've received some questioning about when I will give these ideas the multi chap fic treatment and I don't know. Part of why I hesitated to write was because I'm not good at actually doing it. First of, my talent is average at best, what I have are ideas, second I have commitment issues in every aspect of my life so I knew getting into writing that I may lose the motivation to write. If not the idea and the interest to write for sure the motivation.
Anyway, please enjoy and follow my NEW TUMBLR blahandblahs, follow if for no other reason than the fact that I forgot my password and had to reset and it was a pain to do. Think of my misery! As always thanks for reading.
