Chapter 7: Welcome to Chamberlain Maine

Date: Monday June 23rd 2014

Time: 10:30pm

(Later at Daily Planet…)

The next morning on the Daily Planet, Clark was on his laptop writing an article on the latest update on the city's reconstruction. It only made him think and when he was forced to twist Carrie, killing 234 all students at Ewen High School and Teddy's Gas Station…

"Kent." A voice came.

Clark stood up and watched Perry come here.

"Yeah." Clark replied.

Perry looked down at the paper.

"The city town of Maine." Perry replied.

"Chamberlain?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes. A girl named Carrie White. She murder 234 people at the Black Prom Massacre in Ewen High School. Carrie killed the second person at Teddy's Gas Station. She killed her mother Margaret White one year later." Perry replied.

"Of course. How many people all died?" Clark replied.

"Oh yes, the most of Chris Hargensen, Billy Nolan, Tina Blake, Jackie Talbot, Nicki and Lizzy Watson, Heather Shyres, Freddy Holt, Brian Maxwell, Kenny Garson, Anissa Chen, Rachel Spies, Jessica Upshaw, and everyone else died that night." Perry replied.

"Carrie destroyed Ewen High School and Teddy's Gas Station." Clark replied.

"I know. And the pigs were murdered." Perry replied.

"What?" Clark asked in concern.

"Chris Hargensen, Billy Nolan, Tina Blake, Jackie Talbot, and Kenny Garson killed the pigs. Their childrens failed." Perry replied.

"Parents?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes. And it's probably because their parents have failed their childrens. So now you're going to Chamberlain." Perry replied, as he took his glasses.

"I got it." Clark replied.

"Kent, tell Lois." Perry replied, as Clark watched him. "Carrie White murder everyone in Ewen High School and Teddy's Gas Station. You meet Commissioner Stewart Murphy and Sheriff Otis Doyle."

"Chamberlain Police Department." Clark replied.

"That's right." Perry replied.

"I'm on the way." Clark replied.

"Be careful and good luck Clark." Perry replied, as he turned around and walked away.

Clark took his jacket and bag and went to Chamberlain.

Soon after two hours Clark's Uber car parked near a sidewalk and he stepped out. He thanked and paid the driver and started looking around…

(Later at Chamberlain…)

Clark observed Chamberlain seeing how small it was.

And it reminded him of Maine. Clark then remembered the Ewen High School incident he saw on the news and headed there seeing Sheriff Otis Doyle watched the work people still there trying to put the remaining fix in the gas station now. Before Carrie destroyed Teddy's Gas Station to One year later…

He was more curious by the minute and Doyle started asking around.

"Sheriff Doyle?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes?" Doyle asked in concern.

"Clark Kent. Daily Planet." Clark replied.

"You're a reporter from Daily Planet?" Doyle asked in concern.

"Yes. Is that Teddy's Gas Station?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes Mr. Kent. They work hard to get to the gas station." Doyle replied.

"What happened to Teddy's Gas Station one year later?" Clark asked in concern.

"Oh. Teddy's Gas Station was destroyed." Doyle replied.

"A girl named Carrie White." Clark replied.

"Yes. She destroyed Ewen High School and Teddy's Gas Station." Doyle replied.

"The work people fix at high school and gas stations." Clark replied.

"Yes, they're working to fix the high school and gas station." Doyle replied.

"How many people were murdered?" Clark asked in concern.

"Carrie White had two hundred thirty-four murders of the students in Black Prom Massacre at Ewen High School. She had three murders. Victims names: Margaret White. Christine Hargensen. And William Nolan. Carrie killed Chris and Billy at Teddy's Gas Station and she killed her mother at her house. So you think about Carrie White, Mr. Kent?" Doyle asked in concern.

"Yeah. Sheriff, the library city." Clark replied.

"Chamberlain City Library." Doyle replied.

"Where?" Clark asked in concern.

"This way." Doyle replied, as he pointed to Chamberlain City Library.

"Oh of course. So I'm going to meet Commissioner Stewart Murphy." Clark replied.

"You're going to the CPD right?" Doyle asked in concern.

"That's right." Clark replied.

"Sure Mr. Kent." Doyle replied.

"Thank you Sheriff Doyle." Clark replied, as he walked away and went to Chamberlain City Library.

(Later at Chamberlain City Library…)

Later on Clark paid a visit to the Chamberlain City Library and went to the front desk with a security guard next to him.

"Excuse me? Hi Clark Kent. Daily Planet. I'm looking into the strange incidents that are occurring in your town. Do you mind if I use one of your computers?" Clark asked in concern.

"Not at all Mr. Kent. Feel free. And welcome to Chamberlain." The liberian replied.

"Thank you." Clark replied.

Clark walked down through an ilea and came to the computers he sat down and looked up on the incidents in Chamberlain he learned about the student girl incident when Tina was killed.

Even the car crash that Chris and Billy.

However Clark managed to get their names Ralph and Margaret White and looked them up Ralph…

Learning he was drunk and killed by car crash almost and soon looked up Margaret.

She was a mentally unstable religiously fanatical Zealot; she was killed, she did have a close marriage with her daughter…Carrie and Clark managed to get a picture of Carrie.

And remembered Lois telling him she interviewed Commissioner Murphy at Chamberlain Courthouse wondered if it was the same girl Clark was just more curious by the minute he then typed in "Carrie White" on the computer and it mostly pulled up her school records at Ewen High School.

And what got to Clark more is that he did not find any places where Carrie was daughter from Chamberlain nor any records on what happened to her parents.

This more Clark thinks about his childhood and wonders if this kid is possibly a telekinesis or something all she did know is that he wanted to know more about Carrie…

Clark watched and learned about the student girl Sue when find any places at the Snell's Residence with her parents: Eleanor & Edward Snell and her younger sister: Sierra

(Later at the Snell's Residence…)

Clark arrived at Snell's Residence.

There was a knock on the door.

Answered the door and raised a confused frown.

"Eleanor Snell?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes?" Eleanor asked in concern.

Clark shows her his card.

"Clark Kent. Daily Planet." Clark replied.

"You're from Daily Planet?" Eleanor asked in concern.

"Yes. Tell me about Carrie White." Clark replied.

"Carrie?" Eleanor asked in concern.

"Yeah." Clark replied.

Clark takes his bag and gives the picture to Eleanor and watches the picture of Carrie.

"Yes. That's it." Eleanor replied.

"You know her?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yeah." Eleanor replied.

"We need to talk to you and your family about Carrie White." Clark replied.

"Okay. Come on." Eleanor replied.

Clark nods and enters her house and Eleanor pulls the closed door.

Clark sat on the couch and talked to Eleanor, Edward, and Sierra sat on the other couch.

"One year later. Last night, we saw Carrie on the TV. Sue's all the fault." Eleanor replied.

"Carrie murder everyone in Black Prom Massacre in Ewen High School and Teddy's Gas Station." Edward replied.

"So the students all died. Everyone was much…" Sierra replied.

"234." Clark asked in concern.

"That's right, Mr. Kent. 234." Sierra replied.

"Mrs. Snell, Carrie's mother's name is Margaret White." Clark replied.

"Margaret?" Eleanor asked in concern.

"You know her?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes. Margaret and I were teens. We went to school. A long time ago. I'm talking to Margaret." Eleanor replied.

"Where?" Clark asked in concern.

"Dress shop. Sue has a red dress." Eleanor replied.

"Prom?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes. I saw Margaret was feeling." Eleanor replied.

"Margaret's eyes?" Clark asked in concern.

"Yes. tears or scream at the worst possible moment." Eleanor said.

"So tell you please." Clark replied.

"I said 'Sue's going to look beautiful. I am so excited for her. I remember my prom. Anyway, she's going to love it.' Margaret said 'These are Godless times, Eleanor.' Margaret's fault." Eleanor replied.

*Flashback to one year later*

(Later at the Dress shop…)

In the back room of a dress shop, Margaret sits at the sewing machine deep in her work. A customer's voice was heard yet Margaret chose to ignore the voice. Unfortunately for her, that approach would not last for long.

"Is anyone working?" a voice came.

Looking up from the sewing machine, Margaret spotted a woman at the front desk. A rather anxious customer ringing the service bell.

"Excuse me." The customer called out. "ls anybody working?"

Margaret focused on the sewing machine. In the woman's ears, the machine was as loud as a revving engine. She fed the dress into the machine, almost catching her finger in it. Finally, she stopped the machine, and cut the loose thread with her scissors. Clearly, she wanted no interaction with anyone but because it was part of the job Margaret had little choice.

She approached the front counter towards the customer. It was none other than Eleanor. She's dressed in a blue sleeveless top, which made Margaret uncomfortable. Especially since it showed off the woman's skin and therefore it is 'sinful' in her eyes.

"Oh, Margaret." Eleanor gasped. "I'm sorry to disturb you. I don't know where Hugo and Gloria…"

"Can I help you, Mrs. Snell?" Margaret asked in concern.

Judging by the tone in her voice, Margaret wanted nothing more than to have this conversation over with as soon as possible.

"Yes, it's Eleanor, I'm picking up." Eleanor spoke nervously.

Margaret looked toward Eleanor's ticket then went to seek out Eleanor's clothes. The awkwardness and tension hanging in the air was nothing short of palpable. But eventually, Margaret returned with the dress for Eleanor.

"Margaret, I want to say how sorry I am about what happened at the school." Eleanor apologized. "There's no excuse for what Sue did, but she's a good girl."

"Are any of those girls good?" Margaret asked rhetorically.

Eleanor handed her the money, creeped out by Margaret's words. Margaret put the money inside the register, and Eleanor looked over the dress, very pleased.

"Oh, that is beautiful work, Margaret. Thank you." Eleanor replied.

Margaret listened to Eleanor's praise, in barely-contained anxiety and disgust. She pulled out a pen blade, which she used for work, and held it down by her side.

"I love what you've done with the neckline. And the stitches." Eleanor continued, oblivious. "You can barely see them. So few people can sew like this anymore. I could never do anything like this myself."

Margaret's anxiety grew worse with each word spilled out from Eleanor. She pulled up part of her skirt and started scratching at her leg. Eleanor's words grew louder, ringing in her head, so badly she started cutting herself with the pen blade. In Margaret's eyes, this mother encouraged her daughter's sexual sins instead of protecting her the way she does with Carrie. The woman looked as if she could burst into tears or scream at the worst possible moment.

"Sue's going to look beautiful." Eleanor spoke, admirably. "I am so excited for her. I remember my prom. Anyway, she's going to love it."

"These are Godless times, Eleanor." Margaret muttered.

Eleanor frowned with confusion, uncertain of how to take that response. Margaret merely allowed her skirt to fall and walked away, shaking her head in pity over Eleanor's 'sinfulness'...

*Flashback ends*

"It's my fault." Eleanor replied.

"Hmm. Too bad." Clark replied.
