Disclaimer: I do not Own Total Drama Series, just the OC.
Author Note: This is a story I thought of if there were two different paths for the OC at playing the Competition. This will be written in a neutral good way
Camp Wawanakwa, Canada
Sitting on a boat sailing to his destination, a teen enjoys the view of the very large lake.
The light tan teen in question had black short longish hair with a small ponytail and bangs near his brown eyes. A dark blue unzipped jacket with a grey shirt, black jeans and white and blue shoes.
The teen named Jacob signed up for a reality tv show for the summer since he didn't really have anything exciting to do. He held the brochure in his hands with a picture of a fancy resort on the front page feeling excitement in his chest.
He watched as the boat approached the island but didn't see any resort at all. All he saw was a run-down campsite and a, not well made, dock with a group of teens and a single adult standing there.
When the boat stopped; Jacob jumped off with his luggage and backpack by him.
He looked around in confusion as Chris Mclean announced his arrival, "The last to arrive is Jacob. Welcome!"
Jacob didn't say anything at first and stared around the camp until he brought out the brochure.
"This doesn't look like what's on the brochure. I thought we were going to be staying at a five-star resort?" Jacob said looking a little confused while looking between at the camp and brochure in his hand.
"Nope, but that's what you get for not reading the fine print in your contracts." Chris laughed as he held up a big stack contract paper. Jacob looked closely at the contract and saw that the host was indeed right about the fine print, 'image may or may not be accurate in brochure.'
Sighing in resignation, Jacob picked up his bags and walked towards the rest of the teams. They viewed the last contestants with mixed facial expressions from curious, to smiling, to competitive smirks and to complete lack of interest.
"Now that all of you contestants are here, we need to take a group photo for the promo. Everyone to the end of the dock." Chris announced.
Everyone did as told and arranged themselves to pose for the camera. Jacob placed himself between the people he'll come to know as Courtney, Katie and Justin by taking a kneeling pose.
Chris jumped on the docked boat with camera in hand and got ready to take the photo, "Okay, one, two, three…" he clicked the camera only to realize, "Oops! Okay, forgot the lens cap. Okay hold that pose."
"One, two- oh, no, wait. Card's full hang on." The girl named Leshawna impatiently said, "Come on, man. My face is starting to freeze."
Chris finally getting his camera ready for real said, "Got it, okay. Everyone say, 'Wawanakwa!'"
"Wawanakwa!" All the teenagers called out. But the docks started making sounds and buckled under the weight of all the people causing them to scream as they fell into the water. Chris took multiple photos of the teens in the water for purposes.
"Okay, guys, dry off and meet at the campfire pit in ten." Chris called out nice and dry on the boat.
Ten Minutes later, Campfire Pit
After drying off, everyone met at campfire pit and Jacob took a seat next to Ezekiel and Gwen waiting for Chris to begin his announcement.
Chris began his announcement by saying, "This is Camp Wawanakwa. Your home for the next eight weeks. The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates, your competition, and maybe even your friends. You dig?" Jacob glanced at Ezekiel, who waved in greeting, and Gwen, who ignored him completely.
"The camper who manages to stay on Total Drama Island the longest without getting voted off will win one hundred thousand dollars."
"Excuse me." Duncan said aloud, "What will be the sleeping arrangements be, because I'd like to request a bunk under her." Pointing towards Heather.
She then asked, "They're not coed, are they?"
"Unlikely" Jacob thought watching the interaction.
"No. Girls get one side of each cabin and dudes get the other." Chris answered.
Lindsay, calling out, raised her hand, "Excuse me, Kyle? Can I have a cabin with a lake view since I'm the prettiest?"
"Okay, you are." The host acknowledged, "But that's not really how it works here. And it's Chris."
"I have to live with Sadie, or I'll die." Katie started to say and hold Sadie's hand as her friend continued, "And I'll break out in hives. It's true."
Gwen groaned out, "This cannot be happening."
Owen then hugged Jacob and Gwen looking on the bright side of things, "Aw, come on, guys, it'll be fun. It's like a big sleepover."
Jacob whispered to Gwen, " At least you don't have to sleep next to that guy." He pointed towards Duncan who had a poor deer in a headlock giving it a noogie
"Here's the deal." Chris said regaining everyone's attention, "We're gonna split you into teams. If I call your name out, go stand over there."
"Gwen, Trent, Heather, Cody, Lindsay, Beth, Katie, Owen, Leshawna, Justin, and Noah. From this moment on, you are officially known as… the Screaming Gophers!" Chris called out names and threw out a green flag showed a gopher screaming angrily.
Owen holding the flag let out a cheer, "Yeah! I'm a Gopher! Woo!"
"Wait! What about Sadie?" Katie said worried for her best friend.
"The rest of you, over here. Geoff, Bridgette, Jacob, DJ, Tyler, Sadie, Izzy, Courtney, Ezekiel, Duncan, Eva, and Harold. Move, move, move, move!" Chris called out making most of the new team to rush.
"But Katie's a Gopher! I have to be a Gopher!" Sadie cried in distress.
Courtney went over to her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "Sadie, is it? Come on. It'll be okay."
"This is so unfair! I miss you Katie!" Sadie cried out.
Katie with eyes full of emotion cried out as well, "I miss you too!"
"You guys will officially be known as… the Killer Bass!" Chris announced throwing a red flag that showed a mean looking bass in the center.
Harold was amazed as he held the flag, "It's awesome. It's, like… amazing"
"Hold up!" Heather called out getting everyone's attention, "Why do they have one more member on their team than we do? That isn't fair."
"There was suppose to be another camper here but they got into a bad accident and this show couldn't wait for them to recover. So, you'll all have to deal with it." Chris answered professionally as he could. The Gophers let out a few grumbles and murmurs but relented.
Chris continued after that short disturbance, "You and your team will be on camera in all public areas during this competition."
Confessional Outhouse
Chris: You'll also be able to share your innermost thoughts on tape with video diaries any time you want. Let the audience at home know what you're really thinking, or just get something off your chest.
Gwen: um, okay. So far this stinks.
Lindsay (Facing the wrong way): I don't get it. Where's the camera guy.
Duck (putting on lipstick): quack!
Jacob: Was there just a duck with lipstick on in here?
Owen: Hey, everyone, check this out. I have something very important to say. (farts and laughs)
"All right, any questions?" Chris asked but continued without letting anyone ask anything, "Cool. Let's find your cabins."
Chris led everyone towards two cabins and gestured to each of them, "Gophers, you're in the east cabin. Bass, you're in the west."
Everyone picked up their belongings and went towards their assigned cabins. Jacob opened the door to the male side of the bass cabin and saw a run down room with four bunk beds. "This is kind of gross, but whatever."
Jacob picked a random bunk bed and threw his luggage and backpack on the bottom bunk. Ezekiel came in next and saw Jacob sitting on the bottom bunk and approached him with his bags, "Would it be okay if I take the top bunk, eh?"
"Sure, I guess." Jacob answered looking through his backpack.
Ezekiel threw his bags on the top bunk and looked at Jacob, "Names Ezekiel, eh. What's your name?"
"Jacob." The teen answered looking at Ezekiel with uninterest.
"Cool…" Ezekiel said not really knowing how to continue the conversation.
Soon the other males of team bass came in and picked their bunks and bunkmates and got to talking to one another. But the talks soon ended when a female scream rang out loudly as everyone went to see what was wrong.
"Oh, man, that white girl can scream." Leshawna commented looking into the screaming gophers girls side cabin.
Lindsay was standing on a step stool looking terrified at a cockroach, "What is it? Kill it! Kill it!"
The bug then started crawling around making DJ gasp, give a shrill scream and jump onto one of the bunk beds shaking in fear. The bunk bed had broken under DJ weight as Gwen sighed, "That was my bed."
The room erupted in chaos as most of the campers either screaming in panic or ran up to step on the bug. Jacob watched with amusement until he felt pushed aside by Duncan who walked in carrying an ax.
He raised the ax into the air and brought it down hard on the bug, cutting it in two.
"Well, that's one way to kill a cockroach." Gwen commented.
Tyler then came into the room and said to Lindsay, "If you ever see one of those again, just let me know, okay? Cause, you know, I could do that too."
Lindsay looked touched by his words and looked at him dreamily.
"They always go for the jocks." Duncan scoffed.
"Wasn't he the first to scream in all that mess?" Jacob asked no one.
Afterwards, everyone met up at the mess hall where they lined up for food with the chef calling out loudly, "Listen up! I serve it three times a day, and you'll eat it three times a day. Grab your tray, get your food, and sit your butts down now!" he finished with his voice shaking the room.
He then went through the contestants one by one serving them their food until he reached Jacob and Ezekiel.
"Thank you." Jacob said taking his tray but was stopped by Chef who glared at him.
"Thank you what?" Chef questioned sternly.
"Thank you, sir." Jacob said straightening his back looking Chef in the eyes.
Chef nodded and motioned Jacob to move on, which the teen did gratefully.
Ezekiel quickly got his food tray and said once they were far away enough, "That was intense, eh?"
Jacob glanced at him and nodded wordlessly in case Chef was still nearby enough to hear his response.
Everyone on the Killer Bass table just stared at their food until they noticed Jacob grabbing his sandwich and taking a bite out of it, shuddering slightly at the taste. Noticing the stares he was receiving, Jacob looked up and merely said, "Just think about it if it was school lunch food."
Some of the killer Bass started digging in into the food while some either stared, poked at it, or did nothing at the food.
Chris walked into the room saying to the camera, "Welcome to the main lodge."
"Yo, my man." Geoff called out to Chris, "Can we order a pizza?"
A meat cleaver was then thrown passed Geoff's direction and embedding itself into the wall beside Chris; surprising and shocking everyone by the action.
Geoff quickly took back his words, "Whoa! It's cool, G! brown slop is cool. Right, guys?" He finished nervously laughing. Everyone in the room agreed out of fear of the intense cook glaring at everyone with another knife in hand.
"Your first challenge begins in one hour." Chris announced walking away.
"What do you think they'll make us do?" Katie worringly asked.
"It's our first challenge. How hard can it be?" DJ answered.
Jacob looked at DJ and said, "Ever heard of tempting fate?"
Later, everyone then found themselves looking over the ledge of a very tall cliff in their swimsuits. Jacob looked to DJ, who had a worried frown, and said dully, "Told ya."
Author Note: This story will hopefully be easier to write while I try to work on my other Total Drama Story. This is meant to be written for fun. I have many ideas that my mind tends to scramble to decide what to do.
