Prompt: "I've never been so insulted!"

"You don't listen much, do you?"

Pru nodded at Nate as she walked past the table he was sitting at with Officer Cospito (their most recent client). The mastermind was about to tell the officer that they had officially cleared his name and had gotten him a little something on top of it all. It hadn't taken her a ton of effort, but one of Pru's contacts had practically pounced on the chance to take and fence the marked diamond that Alec had taken off of Kerrity early in the con. That money would definitely pay off the client's hospital bills.

The manager sighed as she sat at the bar next to Eliot, taking the water he offered and drinking about half of it before looking over at Alec and Parker. She furrowed her brow at Alec's expression before she elbowed Eliot, nodding to the hacker when the hitter looked at her with one eyebrow raised. Both eyebrows went up when the hitter caught Alec's smile. "What are you smiling at? You still screwed it up."

"Majorly."

Alec scoffed as he looked over at the manager. "It wasn't that bad guys! I've never been so insulted!"

Pru scoffed this time. "You don't listen much, do you?"

The hacker narrowed his eyes at the manager before shaking his head and looking over at the hitter again. "And I was smiling 'cause you said if I got in trouble, you wouldn't help me."

Eliot started to look flustered, almost like the cat that caught the canary. "Parker made me."

"No, I didn't."

"So did Pru."

Pru rolled her eyes, nudging the hitter with her shoulder. "Are you really attempting to double down on this? He's already seen right through it."

Eliot shot her an unamused look. "You are not helping."

"Never said I'd try to. Good luck getting out of the hug that Alec is bringing your way."

"What do you mean?"

Pru smirked. "You'll see." The manager stood. "I'm headed out. See you all later." Pru patted Eliot's shoulder before walking towards the door. She could hear Alec start to rib Eliot and go in for a hug. And this was the group of people she chose to keep around herself. She must be at least a little crazy.
