Chapter Two.
Back in White cliff. Erik, Carol and Rebecca sit at the dinner table eating supper. At first everyone was quiet. "So, I have some news. Erik, do you remember Bob Pepper the mayor of Green Waters?" Carol asked. "Yes, I remember you introducing me to him last year! Erik said. "Well, he and his wife are coming to our Christmas party next month!" She told them. "Really, well that great!" Erik said, eating. "Will there be any kids there?" Rebecca asked. "Yes, dear there will be!" She told her. "Alright!" Rebecca cheered. As Carol and Erik both smiled.
Back at the hotel, Jean comes out of the bathroom ready for bed. Storm was already asleep on the other bed. Jean pulls back the covers and gets into bed. Once covered she falls asleep quickly. In her dream, Jean remembers back to her childhood again. Patrick was right when he told her that no one else could see him or hear him, not even her own parents. Patrick stayed with Jean and her family. He even stayed with Jean after she went to Charles's school, where Jean continued to grow up while Patrick stayed the same. Then one day when Jean was twelve. Jean woke up, she yawned and looked around to find Patrick nowhere to be found. "Patrick, Patrick!" She called, looking for him Then. "Jean!" She heard. "Patrick, where are you?" She asked. "Don't look for me Jean just listen. I have to leave Jean!" she heard. "You're leaving, but why?" She asked. "Do you remember me telling you about the monster that hunts me?" He asked. "Yes, I remember!" She told him. "Well, He's here, on Earth. So, I must go back into hiding!" She heard. "Why can't you hide here with me? Jean asked, very upset. "I know you are upset Jean and I know you want me to stay with you. But staying with you will put you and everyone in the school in danger and I don't want to put any of you in danger!" She heard. "I, I understand Patrick!" She said, sadly. "Don't worry Jean, we will meet again, I know we will!" She heard, as Jean smiled through her tears. "I know we will too Patrick, but I'm still going to miss you!" She Remembers saying.
When Jean woke up it was morning and Storm was already up. "Morning Jean!" Storm said. "Morning!" Jean said, getting up. After breakfast they all got into the car and headed to the university. Once there, they headed into the courtyard, where a crowd of students waited for them. While Charles gave his speech, his X-men kept an eye out for danger. Each X-men took a different position. Jean walked through crowd scanning for any trouble. She looked at Scott who was not far from her. She then looked at the other two who were in their positions. Everything was going smoothly when suddenly everything and everyone froze in place, except Jean. Jean looked around and saw that no one was moving not even Charles. "Scott?" She called, seeing him frozen. Then she sensed him. She turned and looked to the back of the crowd and saw Patrick rushing through the frozen crowd. "Patrick?" She said, in shock. As he ran to her, and the two hugged. "Oh, oh Patrick, I can't believe it's you!" She told him, as he frightfully looked around. "Patrick? Patrick what's wrong?" She asked. Patrick still frightfully looked around, then she sensed someone else. As the sky went dark, Jean slowly turned and saw the man with the dark hair and beard. "Well, Well, what do we have here?" He said. "Who? Who are you?" Jean asked. "My name, my real name cannot be pronounced in your language. "So, you can call me Adwin!" He said, hearing Patrick whimper, as he frightfully held onto Jean's pant leg. "What, what do you want?" She asked. "The boy, hand him over I will spare your life!" He told her. "Don't listen to him Jean he wants to kill us all!" Jean heard, she looked down at Patrick who was still holding onto her pant leg. Jean took his hand and put him behind her. This angered Adwin. "You foolish woman, do you actually believe you can protect this boy from me?" He shouted, angrily. "Yes, I do and I will protect him from you, now that I know what you truly are monster?" She told him. "Really, you'll protect me?" Patrick asked, looking up at her. Jean looked down at him. "Yes!" She said, looking at him. Patrick then hugged her waist and burst into a bright green light. The light was so bright it frightened Adwin away. Jean felt aroused. But when she opened her eyes, everything was back to normal. Everyone was moving again and the sun was shining, but Patrick was nowhere to be found. Jean looked around and saw that Charles was still giving his speech and Scott was still at his position, as were the other two.
Not far from the university Adwin stares down at the crowd of students. "Alright Jean Grey, you wish to help this boy live, then so beat it, I'll destroy the both of you together!" He said, leaving.
Back at White cliff in Erik's back yard. Erik teaches Rebecca to control her powers. "That's a girl, keep it up!" He said, watching her use her crystal powers. "Okay now stop it!" he said, as Rebecca tried to stop her crystals from spreading, which was hard. But she eventually stopped them. "Good girl, you did it. A bit more practice and you'll be better at it!" Erik said. "You really mean that?" She asked. "You bet, an old friend of mine once said, practice, practice, practice!" Erik said, showing her his powers and she giggled.
Soon Charles and his X-men were back at the hotel. Jean and Storm both got ready for dinner when there was a knock at the door. Storm answered it. "Hey, are you two almost ready. The Professor and Logan are already downstairs waiting!" Scott said. "Yes, we're almost ready!" Jean told him, still getting ready.
Soon they were downstairs, where they sat at a table with the Professor. "Wonderful Speech today, Charles!" Logan told him. "Yes, a wonderful speech today, Professor!" Storm said. "Thank you everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed it!" Charles said, as they're dinner arrived. "Oh, wow this looks good!" Storm said. "It certainly does, let's eat everyone!" Charles said, digging in. Soon everyone was eating. "This is so good!" Storm said, eating. "I think Jean would agree with you!" Logan said, seeing her wolfing down her meal. "Whoa, Jean slow down!" Scott told her. "Sorry, but I'm so hungry!" She said, still eating.
