I really strugge to make forced conflict, not sure why. I think I hate people acting irrationally, which PJ is founded on.
"Mason,.. I thought of something." Leo said as he and Mason were strolling at the edge of the lake. "You said Selene needed you to find you her start, end and the edge of sleep, right?" Mason nodded so Leo continued. "I thought about it, did a lot of research on Selene. She had a husband, Endymion, who was put in a permanent sleep to keep him immortal... I think he has a piece of Selene. The edge of sleep, her husband in eternal slumber, it just makes sense."
Mason froze. "From the mouth of babes... you are a genius kiddo, I know how to find the other pieces. I have long since guessed End was in the West, but I could not think of that other part's location. Perfect, the sooner I find it the sooner we get to live together."
Leo beamed, proud of himself. "I am pretty awesome."
"You really are. I have a spell, one I never tried before... it would allow me to astral project into the Dream realm, but it is dangerous since I am entirely mortal and lack the spiritual flexibility of a demigod. I have to be very, exceedingly careful."
The air then chimed with Zeus' power and Mason groaned as a rush of pain fill his chest. "I think Zeus is telling me to leave..."He turned and bear hugged his little brother. "I will see you soon, kiddo... be safe, be smart, be wise." And then he bolted toward the pine tree, the pain increasing with each step until he was out of the Camp. "I got the message, Zeus... Now... time to retrieve another fragment of Selene."
The moment he was home, in the safety of his wards, he started the casting. Preparing a sacred circle complete with Salt and blood and herbs, he lay in it's center and uttered the simple spell that woud pull him out of his body and into the realm of dreams.
"Dormiam, spiritus somniorum, et deducant animam meam ad quaerentes auditores meos."
And in an instant, he started to scream as his soul and spirit were torn into by powerful threads of purple magic before darkness overtook his mind.
Then he woke up, sort of of, in a liquidy, shadowy realm of shadows. "Is this the realm of dreams?"
"Yes, yes it is." He would have jumped, had he the power. Turning slowly he saw the source of the voice, a boy not much older than he was, barely a man looking at him with half sleeping eyes. His hands were full of a silver energy, masking his form from view. "I am Endymion, and you are here for this. This fragment of Selene, all that is keeping me alive and immortal. My link to her, my link to life... I never loved her, she stole my life, my happiness... but you are right to revive her, the world is not right without her. She is too needed, to maintain the balance the gods have ignorantly ignored. Take her, and take the peace back."
Mason nodded. "I will take it."
He handed Mason the power, the silvery light, and the moment he touched it, Endymion let out a long sigh. "Thank you, finally... peace."
And then he faded away forever, into the realms of Chaos... leaving Mason holding the silvery light, the fragment of Selene. "Let's go home... Release." And so he faded back into the realm of the waking people, where he found himself with a terrible migraine, a nosebleed and a soul aching. "Let's not do that again, shall we... Ganymede, I have something for you."
His beloved appeared then, smiling. "You found another fragement... incredible, where was she?"
"The realm of dreams with her slave."
The God cringed. "We shoud have guessed... no wonder you look so stressed, your neither divine nor an oracle, you lack the spiritual flexibility to astral project safely. Let's get you patched up and then I can make my report."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
