A/N - Hello everyone. Good to read the comments about Harry being Wolverine's grandson. That's hardly an original idea. I've seen numerous stories where Harry and Wolverine were related. I wanted Wolverine to have a real reason for being in this story beyond just using him for the sake of using him. They will meet eventually but it's not going to happen for many chapters yet.
Disclaimer: The X-Men were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and belong to Marvel Comics. Harry Potter was created by and belongs to J.K. Rowling. I make no money from this and the only thing that's mine are the original parts of the story.
4) THE HEIR OF HOGWARTS
It was right after breakfast the next morning when the wards for the castle pinged to let Harry, Sirius, and Remus know that a visitor had arrived.
"It must be Dumbledore" said Sirius, "right on time."
"It would surprise me if Dumbledore was ever late" said Remus. Before Harry could say anything Slappy popped into the room.
"Professor Dumbledore is here to see you Master Harry" said the house elf.
"Thank you" said Harry, "please show him to the solar and arrange for tea. We'll be there in a few minutes."
"Yes Master Harry" said the house elf before popping out again. Harry, Sirius, and Remus went down the stairs one floor to the solar which was more like a sitting room these days. They got there before Dumbledore but he arrived only a few seconds later.
"Harry, Sirius, Remus" the elderly wizard said upon entering the room, "good to see you all."
"It's good to see you too headmaster" said Sirius as the other two said similar things.
"Thank you for inviting me here" said Dumbledore, "I haven't visited Potter Castle since your grandparents were alive Harry but I've always found it to be a very impressive place. I'm glad it's still in good condition."
"You can thank the house elves for that" said Harry, "as well as stasis spells. This is my first time here and I'm also impressed by the place. Won't you sit down?"
Harry gestured for all four of them sit in chairs around a coffee table after which he summoned back one of the house elves and had tea brought for all of them. Once the refreshments were served the four of them engaged in small talk for a while. It had been about a month since Dumbledore had seen the other three and while there wasn't all that much to catch up on there were a few things.
"How are things at Charles' school?" asked Dumbledore, "how is Neville doing there?"
"Things are fine" said Harry, "I miss my teammates though. Neville is doing okay. He's learning to control his powers well and I think it's helping his confidence."
"I'm glad to hear it" said Dumbledore. "I hope his time in America helps him to heal from the battle."
"Merlin knows he needs it" commented Sirius as he remembered how Neville had killed Bellatrix Lestrange by impaling her vertically with a spike of rock. It was a sight that no one who saw it could forget without being obliviated of the memory.
"Professor Xavier is also gathering some more students" said Harry, "I haven't met any of them yet but I know he had made contact with a few of them before I left and some of them might be at the school when I get back."
"Oh?" asked Dumbledore, "is he expanding the X-Men?"
"No" said Sirius, "none of the new students are old enough to be X-Men. Charles decided that any new X-Men have to be at least 18 before they can join the team. This doesn't apply to Harry since he was already an X-Man when the professor made that decision. The new students will learn about their powers and how to control them and use them effectively but they won't get combat training in the Danger Room like the X-Men do, at least not for quite a while."
"It's possible that some of them might join the team eventually after turning 18" said Harry, "but that will be up to the professor. Right now it's not an issue. Professor X said that they're all around my age, maybe a little older or younger. Either way it will be at least a couple of years before any of them would be eligible to join the team."
"I'm glad his school is growing" said Dumbledore, "I know Charles wants to help as many young mutants as possible to control their powers, whether they become X-Men or not."
"I'm also heading to Kenya in a few days" said Harry, "to visit Princess Ororo and her family. After that it will be back to the X-Mansion for the rest of the summer." Dumbledore nodded as he drank his tea. After finishing it he put his cup on the coffee table.
"So, Harry" he said "why did you want to meet with me?"
"I have some things to tell you" said Harry, "that you may find helpful."
"Is that so?" asked Dumbledore with some interest.
"I think so" said Harry, "but in order to get to that I need to tell you something else first."
Harry recounted to Dumbledore his conversation with Hermione and Ron at the Burrow the previous year where they had discussed the fact that Harry was getting mundane lessons at Ilvermorny but such lessons were not offered at Hogwarts unless you arranged for tutors.
"Hermione told me" said Harry, "that Professor McGonagall told her that you have been trying to add mundane subjects to the Hogwarts program but that the governors have blocked you every time. Is that right?"
"Unfortunately yes" said Dumbledore with a frown, "I have long felt that we are doing our students a disservice by not including such subjects at Hogwarts. Especially now that the mundane world has been encroaching on us in ways that it hasn't in the past."
"You're thinking of the attacks on Hogwarts over the last two years" said Sirius.
"Yes" said Dumbledore, "when Magneto attacked us our aurors were completely unprepared to deal with the likes of him and his brotherhood. When Voldemort attacked he was defeated as easily as he was because outsiders in the persons of the X-Men and the Avengers came to help us along with Dr. Strange and the Ancient One.
"The British magical nation is endangering itself by not learning about the world around it. Ilvermorny and the other American schools have the right idea in teaching their students mundane subjects as part of their programs. It lets their students fit in better with the larger world. It also gives their students far more opportunities in life. Not everyone wants to stay in the magical world, especially amongst the muggleborns, and having a wider education helps them with that. I've long thought that we should do the same at Hogwarts for all of our students but the governors disagree."
"Why?" asked Remus.
"Because they don't understand that anyone might want to leave the magical world once they're in it or why" said Dumbledore, "so they don't see the need for such classes. Beyond that, they're all from old pureblood families that have little, if anything, to do with the mundane world. They don't really understand how quickly the mundane world has advanced in the last one hundred years alone. Most of them think that nonmagicals still live in the 18th century, at the latest. There are those who think they still live in medieval times."
"You're joking" said Harry.
"I might be exaggerating a bit" said Dumbledore, "but you get the idea, and I'm not sure that I am exaggerating. Don't misunderstand me. I don't want us to give up the Statute of Secrecy but I do think we need to know all we can about the current mundane world in order to help us hide more effectively."
"You're right" said Remus, "it won't help us if some old purebloods dressed in robes decide to apparate into Piccadilly Circus in the middle of the day. The obliviators would have a tough time dealing with that."
"Even if they can it won't be enough eventually" said Harry, "there are plans to put cameras all over London and other cities to record people. Sooner or later someone will be caught on one of those cameras and, well, there probably won't be any way to stop what might happen from that."
"Exactly" said Dumbledore, "which is why our children need to learn the mundane subjects too so they can safely make their way in the mundane world, even live there if needed."
"Several of the board members were Death Eaters" said Sirius, "surely now you could have an easier time getting your reforms through."
"You'd think so" said Dumbledore, "but it's not that simple. It's still going to be purebloods on the board, maybe a half-blood or two if they're from a really old family, and just because they're not Death Eaters doesn't mean they'll be any more receptive to these ideas than the old members were."
"That's where I come in" said Harry with a bit of predatory smile on his face.
"What do you mean?" asked Dumbledore.
"What if I could guarantee that you'd have a free hand to make the changes to Hogwarts that you want and the Board of Governors wouldn't have any power to stop you?"
"That would be wonderful" said Dumbledore, "but how can you do that?"
"It's like this headmaster" said Harry pulling out a piece of parchment, "two years ago when I went to the New York branch of Gringotts for the first time they had me take an inheritance test to see what I was heir to. This piece of parchment shows the results."
Harry handed the results of his test to Dumbledore who began to read it. After a few seconds his jaw dropped.
"Is this true?" Dumbledore asked in surprise, "you're the heir of all four founders?"
"Yes" said Harry, "it's all been verified. As such, I'm the owner of the school. Are you beginning to understand now headmaster?"
Dumbledore began to laugh. It was clear that he understood.
"This is wonderful Harry" said Dumbledore, "or perhaps I should call you 'Lord Hogwarts?'"
"No" said Harry hastily, "just, no."
"Actually I kind of like that" said Sirius with a smirk but he raised a hand before Harry could protest, "and you shouldn't reject the title so quickly. Nothing else will so firmly establish you as owner of the school, or at least tell people that the owner exists and that his authority in the school is the highest one."
"Anyway, getting back to business" said Remus, "since the owner of Hogwarts has the power to overrule the governors you're giving the headmaster a free hand?"
"That's right" said Harry, "headmaster, between the four of us and anyone else you might want to get input from, like Hermione and her parents for instance or Headmaster Pope, I'm sure we can come up with a revised curriculum for Hogwarts that will add in the mundane subjects and bring the school into the present day as we both want it to be, while still keeping it as much of a school for magic as it always has been."
"Thank you Harry" said Dumbledore with a smile, "this is truly wonderful. You've given me new hope that we can get Hogwarts to where it should be and help get magical Britain more in touch with the modern world."
They spent some time after that throwing around ideas but didn't make any firm plans except that they all agreed it was too close to the beginning of the new year to implement any changes now. Instead it would be better to aim for the fall of '96 which would give them a whole year to make preparations for the coming changes.
One of the big questions was how to introduce the new courses to Hogwarts. All four of them agreed that when the changes happened the first years, at least, should get the full new curriculum. The second years should probably get it too as it was still early enough in their schooling for them to catch up fairly easily to where they should be. Beyond that was where things started to get tricky. Hermione had mentioned being tutored in her mundane subjects and Dumbledore confirmed that this option was available but it wasn't often used and when it was usually it was muggleborns who used it.
Remus suggested that the sixth and seventh year students who were studying for their NEWTs not be subjected to the new curriculum. To this Sirius added that students in their OWL year should also not be subjected to it. That left the question of what to do about the third and fourth years. Dumbledore thought that it might be a good idea to strongly urge those years to get tutored in the mundane subjects but not make it mandatory. It was agreed that the muggleborns would probably go for it more than the purebloods or even the half bloods. That also brought up the issue of where to find enough people to become tutors but that problem could be dealt with later.
"You know" said Harry as a new thought struck him, "maybe we shouldn't limit the new subjects to just the students."
"What do you mean?" asked Sirius.
"Ilvermorny has a summer session that's mostly remedial classes for students who need it" Harry said, "but in the mundane world a lot of schools have night classes for adults. Maybe Hogwarts should have something like that. If the British wizarding world is to catch up to the mundane one it's not just the kids who'll need to learn things. Now we can't force any adult to take classes but if Hogwarts made them available there might be some interest in it, especially if the ministry threw its weight behind the idea."
"That's quite an idea" said Dumbledore, "and it might work. We'd have to hire new teachers for that as I can't expect the current staff to teach so many new classes but we can do that."
"Also adult students wouldn't board at the school" said Remus, "they'd come for their classes and then go home."
"We might even offer a class on the magical world to the parents of the muggleborns" said Harry, "Hermione told me once that she hated that until she started learning wandless magic she couldn't show her parents what she was learning at Hogwarts when she was at home. It might be a good idea to offer a class to the mundane parents that would help them learn about our world and why it needs to be kept secret. If it was given at Hogwarts they'd be able to see more magic for themselves."
The other three looked at Harry in amazement.
"That's quite an idea pup" said Sirius.
"Yes it is" said Dumbledore, "I like it. It's a pity the governors will never allow it."
"That's why you have me" said Harry with a smirk which made the others laugh, "I can even disband the board if it will help."
"Hopefully it won't come to that" said Dumbledore, "at any rate I like all of these ideas."
"What do we do now?" asked Remus.
"I'm going to sound out the rest of the staff" said Dumbledore, "and see what they think. I won't mention you Harry, or anything about there being a new Lord Hogwarts. We should keep that in reserve until it's needed."
"How do you think the staff will react?" asked Harry.
"I don't know" said Dumbledore, "I think Minerva and Filius will support it, also Pomona."
"And Snape?" Harry.
"Professor Snape" corrected Dumbledore, "he's taking a sabbatical this year but I think he might support it too."
"Really?" asked Sirius in surprise.
"He was raised in a mundane house" said Dumbledore, "his mother married a mundane so he's not unacquainted with the nonmagical world and may well see the value of such classes."
"That would help sell it to some of the purebloods" said Sirius. The others nodded and soon brought their discussion to an end.
Dumbledore stayed for lunch after which he left to go back to Hogwarts. Harry spent the rest of the day quietly for the most part although in the late afternoon he changed into his X-Man uniform and went flying so he could survey the local area around the castle. Sirius went with him via broom and pointed out some of the local landmarks that he remembered. It was fairly rugged country and the town of Killigaer was the only nearby settlement. The next nearest town was a number of miles away but as he soared over the land Lightning decided that he liked the area and would definitely have to come back again to spend more time here.
After breakfast the next day Sirius apparated with Harry to the Burrow. While Sirius sat with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley in the kitchen Harry joined Ron, Ginny, and the twins out on the back lawn. The five of them talked about how their summers were going. Harry and Ron would both be entering their OWL year at school while the Twins would be entering their NEWT year while Ginny would simply have her fourth year.
Eventually Ron and Ginny told Harry about the prophecy Luna had made.
"Wow" said Harry, "a real prophecy? She really is a seer?"
"Yes" said Ron, "She didn't remember it when she woke up which is common for seers. Dumbledore even came over to get our memories of it."
"What did the prophecy say?" asked Harry. Ron told him what Luna predicted.
"Hmm" said Harry pondering what he heard, "I have no idea what that's all about. But at least it doesn't seem to be about me."
"You sound happy about that" said Ginny.
"Oh I am" said Harry, "believe me, I am."
Some time later Ginny and the twins both went back inside leaving Harry and Ron alone.
"So here we are" said Ron as the two of them wandered down to the edge of the pond, "just you and me. Takes you back to that first ride on the Hogwarts Express, doesn't it?"
"A little" said Harry sounding a bit distracted. Ron noticed.
"Is something wrong?" he asked Harry who looked at him.
"No" said Harry as he bent down and picked a stone, "I'm fine."
"You always say that" said Ron with a grin as Harry skipped the stone three times across the pond surface, "three bounces, not bad."
"Thanks" said Harry, "I suppose I do say that a lot" he added quietly as he looked at where the stone sank through the water after the last bounce.
"Seriously mate, what's wrong?" asked Ron. Harry looked surprised.
"Nothing's actually wrong, per se" said Harry who looked a bit as if he was debating with himself about something before he seemed to make a decision. He made a wandless gesture, muttered a word, and his regular clothes were switched out for his X-Man uniform. Ron stepped back in surprise.
"Harry, what are you doing?" he asked.
"Sorry Ron" said Lightning, "sometimes when I have a hard thing to face I feel more comfortable if I face it as Lightning."
"Now you're scaring me mate" said Ron. Lightning laughed ruefully.
"There's nothing for you to be scared of" he said scratching the back of his head, "me, on the other hand, well I'm a bit nervous about how you'll take what I might tell you."
"What do you mean?" asked Ron looking puzzled. Lightning sat down on the ground and Ron sat down next to him.
"You've always known I was well off" said Lightning, "but I've never told you just how well off I really am. I didn't know myself until two years ago after I'd gone to America and the goblins gave me the full details of my estate. You're my friend, Ron, the first one I ever had after Hagrid and Hedwig. But Hagrid is much older than we are and Hedwig is an owl. You're my age though, the first friend I ever had who is my age. I'd like to tell you about it but I know how sensitive you are about your own family's situation and I don't want to upset you or make you jealous."
"Then why are you telling me now?" asked Ron.
"Because" said Lightning, "I want to do something that I've never been able to do before for you or Hermione, or any of my Hogwarts friends. I want to invite you and any of your family who want to come with you, to my house, No, I don't mean the X-Mansion. I live there, yes, but I don't own it. This place I'm talking about actually belongs to me."
"It must be quite a house if you're so nervous about this" said Ron.
"It's my official family seat" said Lightning, "and it's not a house, it's a castle. It was built over 700 years ago during the reign of Edward I as part of the English conquest of Wales. My ancestor, Gavyn Potter, is the one who built it and it's been in the family ever since. I've known Potter Castle existed for the past two years but I only saw it for the first time some days ago. It blew me away!
"The thing is, you have to know that anyone who owns a place like that must have a lot of money. And I do. I'm not just well off Ron, I'm incredibly rich, which is another thing I only found out for the first time two years ago. I'm not telling you this to impress you or make you envious, I'm telling you so that if you do accept my invitation you won't be blind sided.
"I'm not some prissy rich snob who never wanted for anything like Malfoy or some other people we know. I know what it's like to have nothing because until I came to Hogwarts for the first time that's what I had. You mentioned our first ride on the Express? I remember it very well. After you complained about your family not having enough money I told you about my life with the Dursleys, how they made me wear Dudley's cast-offs, forced me to do all of the chores, and never gave me any birthday or Christmas presents (among other things). You mentioned that you never got anything new with five older brothers and all of your clothes were handed down from them. Well at least your clothes fit you. Do you remember what I was wearing that first trip on the express? Remember how big Dudley's old clothes were? How they hung off of me?"
"Yes" said Ron, "I didn't want to say anything because I didn't know what to say without seeming rude."
"Dudley is like the size of killer whale or something" said Lightning, "honestly there were times when I would put on one of his shirts and I'd be afraid I'd get lost inside of it and not be able to get out again."
Ron tried to repress a snicker at the image but wasn't entirely successful. Lightning just looked at him.
"Sorry" Ron said, "it's just, that's a ridiculous image."
"I know" said Lightning, "my Hogwarts uniforms were the first clothes I ever had that properly fit me. If the Dursleys had paid for them (which they didn't, thank God) they'd have gotten the cheapest, rattiest ones they could find. They always complained about how much I was costing them. To hear them talk you would have thought they were on the verge of bankruptcy. To make things worse is that, unknown to me all the years I lived there, they were getting a thousands pounds Sterling a month from my family estate for my care. By the time those payments were stopped they'd gotten more than a hundred and fifty thousand pounds from my estate and they stole almost all of it for themselves. They hardly used any of it on me."
"Merlin Harry, I never knew" said Ron, astonished at what he was hearing.
"Of course you didn't" said Lightning, "why would you? I know you and the twins rescued me from the Dursleys during the summer before second year but I never told you everything about my life there as it embarrassed me too much. Well it finally came back to bite them. My family lawyers and the goblins of Gringotts are making them pay it all back. I can tell you, it's not fun for the Dursleys and I have no sympathy for them at all."
"That's great" said Ron, "but why are you telling me all of this?"
"Two years ago" said Lightning "when I first found out how big my estate was Professor Xavier was with me at Gringotts as my guardian. On the way back from the bank I was so overwhelmed by what I'd heard that all I could think to say was 'I don't know how to be rich.' Can you believe that? 'I don't know how to be rich' – as if there was some secret that you had to know. But there isn't. Despite what some people like the Malfoys of the world might think and want other people to think, rich people aren't any better than other people just because they have more money.
"The professor said to me: The only difference between a rich person and poor one – and I really do mean the only difference – is that the rich person has more money. However the poor person doesn't like to be reminded of that fact. I wouldn't recommend going around ostentatiously and obnoxiously flaunting your wealth. You won't win any real friends that way. And that's what I'm trying to get at. I'm still the same person that you've always known whether I was poor at the time or rich. I really want to invite you and your family over to my house like you've invited me to yours.
"If that isn't enough think about this: I know you envy me but I envy you too. I might have an enormous fortune and a lot of property but you have a family that loves you and that's the best thing in the world. I'd give up just about everything I own if I could have my parents back again but that will never happen. Back in April when the professor cured Neville's parents all I could think of was how it was so unfair that he was getting his parents back but I never would. I don't hold that against Neville though. It's not like it's his fault."
"Wow" said Ron, "I don't know what to say."
"How about this" said Lightning, "you've known me for four years. Do I suddenly seem like a different person to you than I was 30 minutes ago when you didn't know about how wealthy I really am?"
"No" said Ron, "I can't say that you do."
"Thank you" said Lightning, "I'm not the only one you know. Warren comes from a family that's as rich as mine."
"I know" said Ron, "I like Warren. He's a good guy."
"He is" said Lightning, "Sirius' family is old money too. Professor Xavier is also really rich."
"I kind of figured that" said Ron, "having seen his school and that X-Jet you use I figured he'd have to have a lot of money."
"Not all rich people are bloody wankers" said Lightning "and not all of the X-Men are rich either. Jean, Bobby, and Hank all come from relatively normal families. Scott grew up in an orphanage. We're all equal though. We couldn't be an effective team if we weren't. After all when you're in combat it doesn't matter how much money you have if you can't rely on your teammates."
"That's true" conceded Ron.
"I don't want you to let your own envy stop you from having a good time" said Lightning, "it's not worth it. So what do you say? Will you come?"
Ron was silent for several minutes but Lightning didn't show any impatience. He just waited, hoping Ron would make the right choice. Finally Ron looked at Lightning.
"I'll have to ask mum and dad first" he said. Lightning felt the tension leave his body.
"Please do" said Lightning, "you're all invited. When I see Hermione tonight I'll be inviting her too. And if this helps sway your parents tell them I can introduce you all to Godric Gryffindor."
"What?!" yelped Ron in surprise.
"His portrait hangs in the castle portrait gallery as he's a direct ancestor of mine" said Lightning with a grin, "he's an interesting person."
Soon after that the twins came back outside again and upon seeing Lightning there they suggested that they play a game of two on two Quidditch in the orchard. Lightning was fine with that so he, Ron, and Fred went to the orchard while George went to get brooms for himself and his brothers. While waiting for George to arrive Lightning took off and began circling the area.
"Show off" Fred called up to Lightning after watching him fly for a few moments. Lightning just shrugged.
"If you've got it" he called down to Fred, "you might as well use it."
"One can't argue with that logic oh twin of mine" said George who had returned with the brooms.
"No, one can't" conceded Fred. Soon the three Weasley brothers mounted their brooms and joined Lightning up in the air.
When the game was over Harry switched back to his regular clothes. After they all returned to the house Ron told his parents about Harry's invitation and asked if they could all go. After a few moments of discussion Mr. and Mrs. Weasley agreed to come to Potter Castle the next day. Sirius said that either he or Remus would come back to the Burrow in the morning with a portkey to take them there.
That evening Harry went to visit Hermione and her family at her house. Around the dinner table the two friends filled each other in on their summers. Hermione and her parents were both fascinated to hear about Potter Castle and Harry answered as many of Hermione's questions about the place as he could.
"Wow" said Hermione, "to think your ancestors helped with Edward I's conquest of Wales and built one of those castles!"
"You've seen some of them?" asked Harry.
"We've visited Harlech Castle, Conway Castle and Caernafon Castle at various times over the years" said Hermione's mother, "but I don't think we ever heard of Potter Castle."
"We wouldn't have mum" said Hermione, "since it's a magical castle."
"That's only obvious when you're inside it" said Harry, "from the outside it looks normal, just very well preserved. It does have a mundane name you might have heard of though. It's original name is Killigaer Castle but not many people call it that anymore."
"I've heard of that castle" said Hermione's mother, "I saw it listed in a book about the castles built during the conquest of Wales. There wasn't much information about it except that it was privately owned and wasn't open to the public. So that's Potter Castle? That's an impressive history it's part of."
"I'd love to see it" said Hermione.
"Why don't you come over tomorrow?" asked Harry, "I invited the Weasleys to come over. They can't all come but Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Ron, Ginny, and the Twins are coming. Why don't you all come too?"
The Grangers took Harry up on his offer and the next day Sirius apparated to the Granger house and brought Hermione and her parents to Potter Castle by portkey while Remus went to the Burrow to fetch the Weasleys. Wanting them to get the full experience of seeing the castle Harry had them all go to a vantage point some distance from the castle where the Grangers and the Weasleys could get a view of it from the outside. They were all just as impressed by the castle's appearance as Harry had been when he first saw it.
"It looks like you have – " began Fred.
" – Quite the place Harry" finished George.
"Wait until you see the inside of it" said Harry and he led them down toward the castle entrance.
His friends were even more impressed when they saw the inside of Potter Castle and how well preserved it was. Harry gave them the grand tour and showed them all around the place. There was a major delay in the portrait gallery because everyone wanted to talk to Godric Gryffindor. That only ended when lunch time rolled around and Harry suggested having lunch sent up to them. Mrs. Weasley vetoed that idea at once.
Harry kept the library for the end of the tour since he knew that he'd have a hard time getting Hermione out of the library once she was in it. He was right. Hermione wanted to explore every inch of the library once she saw it and it was fortunate that the Grangers needed to go home before the day was over or Hermione might have taken up residence there. Harry placated her by telling her that while he had to close up the castle when he left the next day she was welcome to use the library anytime he was there. He didn't know exactly when he would next be in the U.K. but he'd let her know when he was. With that Hermione had to be content. Sirius took the Grangers home while the Weasleys left with Remus to go back to the Burrow.
Harry was glad that he'd told Ron about the castle and his wealth beforehand. As far as he could tell his friend didn't show any jealousy or envy while he was at Potter Castle and Harry hoped that would remain the case in the future. He would always help his friends if they needed it but he didn't want to be overbearing about it and he knew that none of the Weasleys wanted anything that could be considered charity.
