Tournament of Kikai 2 Side Story

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE READING THE MEGAMIX TOURNAMENT, BATTLE OF THE LUMINARIES, OKRON TOURNAMENT AND ESPECIALLY THE TOURNAMENT OF KIKAI, PLEASE READ THIS! It is a recap show where my characters host and introduce the fighters shown in the second Tournament of Kikai in an attempt to gain more voters for that fic. And just like the first recap show, this one will be full of personality!

8. Section Two Results

We now tune in to… Barry and Rinky? They both smiled as if nothing unusual was happening.

"We are back!" Barry grinned.

"And man, did we have a blast watching the fights in the arena!" Rinky said, excitedly.

"For those wondering why Rinky and I are here instead of Drake and Ashley." Barry said. "Well, it is kinda a tradition at this point."

"After every three sections, Danglars and Tybalt swap places with Carver and Blunny and the former will do the main event." Rinky explained. "Same with Stinky and Allison in the recap show for the fourth Megamix Tournament."

"So naturally since the next section is the third one, WE'LL be covering the main fights." Rinky grinned.

"Of course, Drake and Ashley will cover the research team." Barry added.

The camera then went to Drake and Ashley.

"Well, THIS is a brief change of pace!" Ashley noted.

"Yeah, other than Xero & Maurice, we are the only pair that DIDN'T do a research segment." Drake noted. He then paused. "Which is weird because we are the first pairs EVER to do UVR tournament recaps."

"To be fair, the recap shows in the pre-resurgence era were very lacklustre in comparison to the ones now." Ashley shrugged. "...In hindsight, we didn't do a good job."

"Well, to be fair, the main point of these shows is to alert people on DeviantArt and sometimes Fanfiction about it so technically it more or less got the job done." Drake frowned.

The camera then went back to Barry and Rinky.

"Well, regardless, we are not going to skim through this and give each elimination in detail." Barry said. "Starting with the ones who failed to get an elimination."

BEAKY BUZZARD

NODE: LOONEY TUNES: WORLD OF MAYHEM

ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 29

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2

Barry's smirk vanished when he saw this. Rinky paused before looking up at Barry with a smirk.

"Go on, man! Tell it in complete detail!" Rinky smirked.

Barry let out a deep sigh. "...Okay, so admittedly our first fighter segment ever isn't exactly a big one. Basically, Beaky got his elimination when he was thrown from his earlier opponent into Bowser from Super Smash Bros."

"No buildup. No earlier scenes of Beaky. Just an erratic elimination." Rinky shrugged.

"...It is especially jarring that BOWSER was the one who got taken out so anti-climatically." Barry frowned. "Though spoiler alert: It is not like he just went out just like that but still."

"Then again, it WOULD make sense for Beaky to get an elimination like that." Rinky shrugged. "And not only did he get the bottom slot, but he actually got a negative TWO."

Barry's eyes widened at this. "Wait, really?"

"Yeah, and he was also tied with TWO other people for the fifteenth slot and only got it because he was the second-to-last fighter introduced in the last section." Rinky noted.

"Huh. How bizarre. Usually we get situations like that at least a few sections later." Barry noted.

Rinky paused before smirking. "Heh. I guess we CAN talk about clumsy eliminations like these in detail."

Barry blinked twice before chuckling. "Yes, I suppose we can."

SULLEY

NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/MONSTERS INC.

ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 19

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2

"Well, at least we could start a proper fight recap." Barry smiled.

"Yeah, Sulley was fighting against She-Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem and while he could outlift him, she was just as fast as her husband, Taz." Rinky smirked. "She was able to skate circles around him, even going around his dodgeballs.

"She even managed to scare HIM a couple of times." Barry chuckled. "However, Sulley has demonstrated that he has a secret weapon: A laugh canister."

"For those who are unfamiliar with Monsters Inc, it is basically what holds the laugh." Rinky explained. "It was more than enough to take She-Tasmanian Devil off-guard and stun her long enough for Sulley to ram her out of the arena."

"He may not last this round but he showed why he used to be the top scarer!" Barry grinned.

LINK

NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/LEGEND OF ZELDA

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 36

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1

"Not going to lie, I expected Link to survive this section." Barry frowned.

"The same could be said for the last Tournament of Kikai where he DIDN'T get a single elimination at all." Rinky sighed. "It seems that the tournament is not for the Legend of Zelda."

Barry immediately brightened up. "Well, at the very least, Link ended with an impressive win underneath his belt."

"Yeah, he was up against Godhand from Ehrgeiz and while it is considered one of the more lesser-known nodes in the tournament, the latter still got an elimination from other more well-known nodes." Rinky pointed out.

"Indeed, it was a valiant fight between Link's multiple mastery of various weapons and Godhand's infamous Mishima-style and explosive weapons." Barry noted. "However, in the end, Godhand managed to get the upper-hand."

"But while Godhand gloated about not being able to slow down easily, Link showed that he CAN." Barry said before smirking. "With a little help from the Stasis rune."

"Particularly from Breath of the Wild. They took it out in Tears of the Kingdom." Rinky grumbled.

"Now, now, if they had the Sheikah Slate AND Link's new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom, it would be broken." Barry scolded.

"Yeah, I guess…" Rinky grumbled. He then lightened up. "But hey, at least we are able to see them HERE!"

ELMER FUDD

NODE: LOONEY TUNES: WORLD OF MAYHEM

ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 9

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3

"A little surprised to hear Elmer out so early." Rinky mused.

"Yes, he had a more than respectable first section but I suppose that is how the votes go." Barry shrugged.

"Well, regardless, Elmer did well, despite getting a handicap by the wheel. Basically, he has to lose all of his guns." Rinky frowned. He then scoffed. "Sounds like modern Looney Tunes cartoons."

Barry chuckled nervously. "Regardless, that leaves Elmer to use more creative ways. Like, they showed us that you could enter the Safe Zone and NOT take a challenge. HOWEVER, he could use it to change and he changed into his prehistoric one from Lost in Time."

"Regardless, his opponent was Jazz Jackrabbit from… Jazz Jackrabbit, someone with guns so Elmer is getting a taste of his own medicine." Rinky smirked. "However, as you could enter, Elmer could take a beating and used his endurance to go through Jazz's arsenal and throw him out of the ring."

"However, while Elmer did eliminate Jazz, he DID get the last laugh." Barry said. "But we will cover it when we get to it.

BOWSER

NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/SUPER MARIO BROS

ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 26

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3

"Okay, Elmer being eliminated here was a bit of a shock. But BOWSER!?" Barry exclaimed.

"Even if he was the victim of the dreaded five Big Guy round, you would think he would still be in the top 5 at least." Rinky frowned.

"And it is not like he got a lowish score because it was a positive 4." Barry noted.

"Wait, REALLY?" Rinky exclaimed, earning a solemn nod from Barry. "Man, leave it to the Tournament of Kikai to have chaotic voting situations like this in Section TWO."

"Well, you can't say Bowser didn't go out fighting." Barry said. "He was up against Fuzzy from the Powerpuff Girls, a fellow Big Guy and the second person who got a Second Chance."

"The two had a classic heavyweight beatdown with Bowser's insane strength AND defence and Fuzzy's blunderbuss and… Um, determination." Rinky grinned. His face then faltered. "Unfortunately, it is a little tricky to talk about what happened next because that involves talking about one of the surviving fighters."

"At least the middle part. Considering we talked about Beaky accidentally eliminating him, we already established what happened to him." Barry added. "Basically, we are going through a three-part video in the wrong order."

"In that case, let's continue onto the people who DID get an elimination and fix the order." Rinky nodded.

GUMBALL

NODE: THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 35

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1

"Well, what do you know? We are already putting the pieces of what happened to Bowser together!" Rinky grinned.

"More or less. At the very least, it was GUMBALL who accidentally threw Beaky from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem into Bowser, eliminating him." Barry added. "Needless to say, he was not happy to give his OPPONENT an elimination."

"So he tried to make up for it by punching at Beaky but the buzzard had managed to avoid the attack." Rinky added. "It seems like Beaky had the upper hand despite not going on offence that much."

"However, remember when we said in the last section that the Amazing World of Gumball was wild? While Gumball used it to full effect." Barry explained. "First, he tapped into his mother's inner rage and made a loud shockwave that not only knocked Beaky down but nearly everyone else."

"Next, Beaky finally went on the offensive and tried to smash a coffin over Gumball's head but Gumball used an invisible shield to block the attack. No, I am NOT kidding!" Rinky grinned.

"Finally, Gumball charged up a Hadoken-like projectile and sent it at Beaky, not only frying his Undertaker outfit but also his feathers." Barry said. "This left him easy pickings for Gumball to spike him out of the ring like a volleyball."

"Gumball barely made it into the Top 10 but he definitely gained his Mystery Fighter invitation!" Rinky grinned.

GARBODOR

NODE: POKEMON

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 38

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1

"...How the heck did a fight between a literal pile of trash and BAMBI from Kingdom Hearts of all people be so fun to watch?" Rinky asked.

Barry chuckled nervously. "I suppose that it is the nature of the UVR. But yeah, at least Bambi fought as himself and not in a blind rage this time."

"Though you have to admit, maybe it would help Bambi a lot." Rinky frowned. "Because it certainly didn't help him here!"

"Perhaps. But not for lack of trying. Bambi fought like Ashley expected, a standard platformer, literally getting the jump on Garbador's head a couple of times." Barry noted.

"Yeah, but Garbador is too bulky AND too stinky for Bambi, whose magic is more nature-based thus making it easier for Garbador to overwhelm him." Rinky retorted.

Rinky then paused before looking off-screen.

"That IS how it works, right?" Rinky asked.

"...I mean Tarzan has a Cure spell and Tinker Bell is basically the healing summon so yeah, nature magic isn't TOO far-fetched." Ashley noted from off-screen.

"Ah…" Rinky said.

"Well, Bambi made it his all but Garbodor is literally too toxic for him." Barry said before smirking. "Guess you can't say that he is trash now."

Rinky blinked twice. "But he IS a giant trash bag."

Barry's smile vanished as he gave a grumpy look. "...And you ruined my pun."

ANTONOV

NODE: KING OF FIGHTERS XV

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 39

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1

"Looks like Antonov is going good at the moment with him doing well in not only the fourth Megamix Tournament but also here as well." Rinky grinned.

"Granted, in comparison, Antonov is doing a bit worse here but that doesn't mean his win isn't impressive." Barry noted. "Especially since his opponent was Raphael from Nickelodeon All-Stars."

"Yeah, Antonov was strong but so was Raphael who was not only just as bulky as Antonov but also had his sais!" Rinky grinned. "He even used the invisibility trick when he was a crossover skin for Loki."

"Which is pleasantly surprising because while the TMNT represented in SMITE doesn't seem to represent any particular one, I didn't think the RISE version of the TMNT would be able to use it." Barry mused.

"Even then, it wasn't enough to make Antonov falter!" Rinky smirked. "After a few good hits, Raphael was down for the count! Another elimination for the G.A.W.!"

KING ANDRIAS

NODE: DISNEY TELEVISION ALL-STARS/AMPHIBIA

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 41

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1

Barry gave a small frown as Rinky nodded.

"Well, we finally put together the puzzle!" Rinky grinned. "The middle!"

"Right…" Barry said.

Rinky looked at Barry confused. "Is something the matter, man?"

"...I looked further into Amphibia and while I admit that he was genuinely trying to turn over a new leaf, I would at least forgive and not forget." Barry said, sternly.

Rinky frowned. "Oh, right… S-Sorry."

Barry looked at Rinky with wide eyes. "W-What? No! It is alright! It is all fine!"

The camera then went to Drake and Ashley watching the scene with blank faces.

"Psst. Is it just me or does that exchange seem awfully serious?" Drake whimpered.

"Yeah, I was thinking that too." Ashley noted. He then shrugged. "However, it seems to be a 'they' think so let's not prod for now."

The camera then went back to Barry, stifling a cough with his fist. "But anyway, King Andrias was up against Rocky from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem where the latter was trying to take the former's crown."

"However, Andrias was all 'get your own' and the two fought. While Andrias had his strength, size and big ol' sword, Rocky had his guns and a lot of determination, giving Andrias a lot of trouble." Rinky noted.

"Eventually, Andrias finally got one good hit in and sent Rocky flying." Barry said. "However, he ended up sending Rocky towards the fight between Bowser and Fuzzy."

"Normally, this resulted in a messy fight but it turns out to be a fight between Fuzzy and Rocky to enter the Safe Zone, something they've been trying to go into since the beginning." Rinky added.

"That is why Andrias decided to form an alliance with Bowser for one of them to enter the Safe Zone. However, they decided to eliminate Rocky and Fuzzy respectively first." Barry explained.

"But as you could expect, the alliance lasted a whopping one minute before Beaky was thrown into Bowser, eliminating him." Rinky muttered. "There IS one final part. However, it is not our place to say."

"No, it isn't, Rinky." Barry said.

RICK

NODE: KIRBY

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 31

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1

"...I am still in awe that 4Kids gave Rick a thick Australian accent." Barry muttered.

"Hey, 4Kids did weirder. And that's the NICE way of putting it." Rinky said, rolling his eyes. His eyes then brightened up.

"His opponent was Cerebella from Skullgirls and while you would think that being from said node would make you see it all." Barry mused.

Rinky then laughed. "No, it didn't. Rick kept taking her off-guard with his various skills like his flame breath and boulder roll."

"Not that Cerebella didn't put up a good fight herself." Barry noted. "If anything, her and Vice-Versa forced him to do a Friend Ability."

"Using Demyx's aquamancy, Rick turned into his Curling Stone." Rinky grinned. "Not surprising in a tournament full of Limit Breaks."

"Rick rammed into Cerebella while splashing her with water, taking her out." Barry said. He then frowned. "Personally, I think Cerebella deserved it."

"Yeah, I could get mad for interrupting a fight but STILL going after Jack DESPITE getting his legs bound?" Rinky winced. "Not cool."

"So it is only fitting that her downfall was the very person who she was trying to 'avenge'." Barry chuckled.

PATRICK STAR

NODE: NICKELODEON ALL-STARS/SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 37

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2

"Well, look who improved their score from the third Battle of the Luminaries!" Barry smirked.

"Yeah, not only did Patrick Star survive the section but he got TWO eliminations under his belt!" Rinky nodded. He then chuckled nervously. "Though the first elimination isn't anything to be proud of."

Barry let out a deep sigh. "You remember when we said that Jazz Jackrabbit got revenge on Elmer Fudd from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem? Well, basically before falling into the portal, Jazz threw a grenade but he didn't throw it at Elmer but rather a fight Patrick was having with Espeon

"Espeon sent a Psybeam at him but it hit the grenade instead and sent Patrick flying towards Elmer and crashing into him, sending him out of the ring." Rinky grinned. "Which is SO COOL!"

"I have to ask… Did Jazz plan that the entire time or did he just get lucky?" Barry asked.

"I think both. Jazz was always planning on interrupting a fight to get revenge on Elmer but he didn't exactly know how it would work out, just using the usual nature of these tournaments." Rinky shrugged.

Barry rolled his eyes. "Yeah, that sounds about right. Fortunately, even Patrick could be a shining star once in a while and made up for his first poor performance by facing Sulley from Kingdom Hearts. …Even if facing him was not the original plan."

"Hopefully, Patrick decided to pull his Patrick Show schtick from the third Battle of the Luminaries and have a fight/interview hybrid!" Rinky grinned. "He then did his trademark ice cream dive move on Sulley, stunning him long enough to get out his Pickle Blaster."

"For those who don't know, the Pickle Blaster is one of seven weapons that the five playable characters could use in Plankton's Robotic Revenge." Barry explained. "Patrick used it to good effect and sent Sulley straight out of the arena."

LAUNCHPAD McQUACK

NODE: DISNEY TELEVISION ANIMATION ALL-STARS

ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 30

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 4

"Well, he may not have gotten the top slot like last time but Launchpad is still going strong!" Barry grinned.

"He is double-teaming with Link from Super Smash Bros against Dr. Shemp from Spyro the Dragon and you would THINK that sounds like a Curb-Stomp Battle, the latter managed to win a reward from the wheel, granting him more magical power." Rinky frowned.

"This resorted Link to using a Puffshroom arrow to create a cloud of smoke surrounding Dr. Shemp, blinding him, making it easy for them to exploit his weakness." Barry smirked.

"Even with the low visibility, it did little to take Dr. Shemp down so Launchpad thought quickly." Rinky grinned.

"...Or not thinking at all." Barry sighed. "Basically, he rammed in straight forward, hoping to take out Dr. Shemp with one good tackle. And to his credit, he did so. …Along with Link as well."

Rinky chuckled nervously. "Well, at least he showed that he is strong enough to take down two people at once. Most people don't get the privilege of saying that."

WOLF O'DONNELL

NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/STARFOX

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 40

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2

"Well, looks like redeemed himself from the last Tournament of Kikai!" Rinky smirked. "Wolf managed to get not one but two eliminations."

"And NEITHER of them were clumsy eliminations as well!" Barry grinned. "The first one was against Demyx from Kingdom Hearts aka That One Boss From 2."

"And boy did he remind Wolf that with his aquamancy and clones." Rinky said, rolling his eyes. "It has gotten so bad that Wolf decided to use his Smash Ball early on."

"Basically, he took Demyx into outer space literally and fired shots onto him with not only his Wolfens but also the ones from Leon, Pigma and Andrew." Barry noted.

"Next is Espeon from Pokemon and it is the final fight of the section and what a fight it is!" Rinky grinned. "What with Wolf's claw, martial arts and gadgets and Espeon's psychic abilities whether through beams or projectile-deflectors."

"Soon, Espeon ended up using HER Smash Ball. And it turns out that EVERY Pokemon has one." Barry noted.

"Basically, it varies from Pokemon to Pokemon but you could Mega Evolve, Dynamax, Gigantimax OR Terastilize!" Rinky grinned. "In this case, Espeon Terastilzed to amplify her already-powerful psychic abilities."

"However, while Espeon put up a good fight, Wolf was quite the foe being too quick and deadly for her, managing to slash Espeon out of her Terrastilization." Barry explained. "Being too exhausted by the assault, Wolf easily threw her out of the ring."

"Still not exactly the best way to show off the Pokemon's Smash Balls." Rinky frowned.

"I rightfully disagree. Sure, it wasn't an epic win for Espeon but it showed how ANY Pokemon could have it." Barry noted. "After all, not every Pokemon has a Mega Evolution or a Gigantimax form, they could still Dynamax and Terastilize."

"Hey, that's right! And because of that, even the lesser-known Pokemon that NEVER got a chance to shine could do so!" Rinky noted. "Hell, even if you for some reason remove the fan-favourites like Gengar or Meowth, you could still have vastly different Smash Ball results based on the people!"

Suddenly, the camera cut to Drake and Ashley. Drake was tapping away at a tablet. Ashley on the other hand just looks on with a smile.

GARNET

NODE: MULTIVERSUS/STEVEN UNIVERSE

ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 6

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3

MEWTWO

NODE: POKEMON

ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 45

OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2

"Well, for a moment there I actually thought we would go through an entire section with a fighting skip. Well, technically we still did so but we are covering these two together." Barry mused.

"Yeah, but beyond that, is anyone surprised that Mewtwo has gotten the top slot?" Rinky smirked.

"No, not at all. But in all fairness, unlike in his first section in the third Battle of the Luminaries, it was actually quite close." Barry noted. "All Garnet needed was one live vote to overtake him."

"Yeah, well, Garnet has nothing to complain about. Especially since the way they dominated the round was a team effort." Rinky smirked.

"Indeed. They were up against Numbuh One from Cartoon Network: Punch-Time Explosion and Landia from Kirby and…" Barry started.

"Hey, wait, Landia was the final second chance pick, wasn't it?" Rinky asked.

"Yes, it seemed that they all failed to survive the section or even get a second elimination." Barry frowned. "Then again, the Second Chance seems more like a prize from the Safe Zone."

"Yeah, and it works differently from the Okron Tournament and the choice is picked by random number generator." Rinky grumbled. "Which is fine, actually since it went with the previous Tournament of Kikai. IF THE OKRON TOURNAMENT WOULD CONTINUE!"

"Rinky! Don't be selfish! Roxas-Gramarye just lost their drive and a story written no story is worse than getting no story at all!" Barry scolded.

"True… It is just that… The Second Chance mechanic is such a cool addition because it gives people that were in the bottom half of votes a second chance." Rinky frowned. "Like Rose from Kizuna Encounter or Cecil Harvey. Plus, it really shows that people's votes for their favourite matters."

"I know, I know, but it can't be helped. As far as Xero's ideas go, the Random Number Generator is actually the least problematic so nobody really has a reason to complain about it." Barry frowned. "Besides, his new Ace Attorney fanfic seems to be going well."

"Oh, don't worry, Roxas focusing on original fanfics is nothing to be afraid of. I am pleasantly surprised that Orange-Ratchet is able to juggle HIS fanfics." Rinky reassured. "It is just a waste of a cool system."

"Yeah, it is…" Barry lamented.

The camera then went to Drake and Ashley. Ashley was looking just as solemn as Barry and Rinky. Drake on the other hand paused for a moment. He then put a hand on Ashley's shoulder. The wizard looked towards Drake.

Suddenly, Drake smiled and winked. Ashley's eyes widened at first. But then he paused before smiling and nodding.

The camera then went back to Rinky. "Okay, time-in. Numbuh One and Landia saw the two as threats and… After the last tournament, who could blame them? Ironically enough, THEY showed that they are threatening themselves with their fire breath and 2x4 technology."

"In fact, Mewtwo and Garnet believe that they are so big of threats that they decided to do a Limit Break." Barry smirked.

"Basically, Garnet SEPARATED into Ruby and Sapphire to do it too!" Rinky grinned.

"Wait, isn't that COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE?" Barry frowned. "Isn't the point of Garnet is that their love is so much figuratively AND literally that they rarely split up unless in dire situations?"

"Well, Garnet powers are cool and all but they aren't exactly… Elemental cool. Make no mistake, she could emit electricity and that is cool but not too cool." Rinky explained. "Ruby and Sapphire could both use fire and ice respectively which is cool and Mewtwo could use darkness which is cool. So combining the three elements is cool. So having Mewtwo and Garnet should be cooler in concept, in practice it is Mewtwo AND Ruby & Sapphire that is cooler."

Barry blinked twice. "...Um, cool?"

"But yeah, like I stated, the Limit Break completely dominated Numbuh One and Landia, making it easy picking for Mewtwo and Garnet to eliminate them." Rinky noted. "Next, they decided to split up and take on Bentley from Sly Cooper and Nasty Canasta from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem."

"However, at this time, Mewtwo has gotten a punishment from the wheel and basically he is not only using STAB moves." Barry noted. "However, being a clone of Mew, he isn't limited to psychic-type moves as he used various attacks like Swift, Ice Beam and Fire Punch which Bentley learned the same way."

"Bentley tried his best to fight back with the coolest wheelchair in the multiverse, he couldn't fight back." Rinky said. "However, Mewtwo pulled out an old move from Pokken and used Focus Blast. It was super-effective and Bentley fainted."

"As for Garnet versus Nasty Canasta, it started normal enough. Then, Nasty Canasta treated Garnet to drink…" Barry said.

Rinky then read his tablet. "Said drink is from Drip-Along Daffy. It contains various poisons and toxic materials like cobra fang juice, hydrogen bitters and… Old panther?"

Barry paused. "...Why do I have a feeling that Stinky will show this to Panther out of spite?"

"Also, it was so hot that not even the ice cubes could endure it." Rinky winced.

"As you would expect, Nasty Canasta tried to poison Garnet for an easy elimination. But Garnet is Stronger Than You in not just power but an immune system too!" Barry smirked. It then faltered. "Wolf and Espeon… Not-so-much."

Rinky chuckled nervously. "So they decided to finish the fight normally with Nasty Canasta even changing into his Ronin costume. However, it wasn't enough to cut through Garnet's gem-hard fists and she threw him out of the arena just like Mario with Bowser."

"Well, that is everyone! We'll say goodbye to Raphaep, Espeon, Bentley, Elmer, Numbuh One, Sulley, Cerebella, Bowser, Demyx, Godhand, Fuzzy, Landia… And Link?" Barry said, blinking twice.

"Hey, what gives? Other than Garnet and Launchpad, everyone that was in the top half didn't survive the NEXT section!" Rinky exclaimed.

"Yeah, I don't get it either. It is not like most of them are heavily fatigued. The tournament just started." Barry frowned.

Rinky shook his head. "Anyway, we welcome Rick, Gumball, Patrick, Garbodor, Antonov, Wolf, Andrias and Mewtwo."

"Normally, this would be the part where we cut to the stats but we are going to let someone else do it." Barry offered. "Why? Well, let's find out."

With that, the lights went out. Soon, all could be seen were a bunch of glowing orbs. Cacey then walked with her glowing eyes.

"Thank you, Barry…" Cacey said. "Normally, I would be in charge of the envelopes but due to the sudden announcement of the Safe House, I am asked to look over it as well. Very well."

Then, several orbs floated up.

"First off, I wish to talk about the voting of the Safe Zone in comparison to the main tournament." Cacey explained. "Perhaps it is this new system but a lot of votes were quite different from the main one. For instance, the person who collected the second-most votes with six votes was Garnet. No surprise there."

Then, two orbs floated forward.

"However, there was a two-way tie for third with five votes. One of them is Antonov and the other one is BOWSER." Cacey frowned. "Aka the person who just missed out on surviving this section. Which means he got more votes than SEVEN of the surviving fighters. And speaking of close, here is the one who got the most votes."

The orb then showed a certain blue cat.

"Gumball aka the one who BARELY managed to survive the section and would have been gone with one less vote is the one selected to enter the Safe Vote." Cacey mused. "How intriguing. Makes me wonder what will happen if someone wins the chance to enter the Safe Zone challenge but fails to survive the section in the same one."

She then paused.

"I DO know what will happen if there is a tie, instead of the last draw getting it, it will be put to the Random Number Generator." Cacey said before shrugging. "Makes sense because it is obviously NOTHING like the vote."

She then smiled.

"But that is not what you are here for. You are here for the Safe Zone Challenge. Well, it seems that being a god has its perks since you could make anything." Cacey said. "Monika decided to make a level based on World 1-2 from the original Super Mario Bros. The goal is to go up to the area where the three warp pipes are usually located in time to get the prize."

She then frowned.

"Butttt there is a chance. It is based on Super Mario Maker. That only should gather so many memories. Some fond, some… The complete opposite." Cacey sighed. "Basically, nearly every question block has an enemy, whether it be a Goomba or a fire bar. Curiosity got the better of the cat and Gumball ended up filling the level with fire bars."

She then showed her crystal ball which showed Gumball trying and failing.

"And like a true Super Mario Maker level, Gumball had a lot of trouble. Not even the eluded dev door could help him because his goal wasn't to make it to the END of level, per say." Cacey said. "So just like with Beaky, he took a page out of his mother and did a shockwave of pure rage. It destroyed all of the obstacles."

She then frowned.

"Unfortunately, in the end, he was too late for a good prize or an average prize. He got a booby prize and he got… Rotten fruit." Cacey said.

She then smirked.

"But it is not all bad. At least now there is a way for the fighters to punish Xero for his unprofessional attitude." Cacey giggled.

Ashley could be heard laughing.

"So yes, sometimes nothing will change. But at the very least, we get to see one particular fighter get some screentime." Cacey smirked. "Now let's go to the stats finally."

"As you can see, we will take the Safe Zone challenge in the stats." Cacey said before pausing. "But I have to ask if I really want to include Elmer because it is clear that he wasn't voted in but acted more as a template."

She then shrugged.

"So yes, King of Fighters XV and Mystery Fighters are on the board while it seems that Launchpad is in the lead." Cacey paused. "Though seeing that Garnet is still in the ring, she definitely has a chance to catch up to him, especially since she got more votes than him this time around. I wish I could say more but it is a little early to point things out."

She then held up her orbs.

"Like I said earlier, Mewtwo has gotten the top slot so he was the one to pick it." Cacey said. She then looked grumpy. "Unlike in the last tournament where he got vulgar picks. Granted, there was no need for mystery envelopes then but still."

She then shook her head.

"Regardless… He has more of a chance to affect the arena and he has selected the special 'Arena Shift' round." Cacey said.

She then let out a deep sigh.

"Oh dear… This is going to take a lot to explain so now is the best time to take a break." Cacey said. "Don't worry, when we come back, I shall explain everything. I promise that you do not wish to miss it."
