We now return to the studio where Cacey was still in the dark room with several crystal balls illuminating herself.
"Welcome back. If you are just turning in, Treecko or to be specific, Willow the Treecko." Cacey explained. "She has gotten the top slot and she gets to pick the next stage gimmick which is the Big Guy Gimmick."
She then sighed.
"Back when Junko first made her appearance, she had two envelopes 'Uh-oh' and 'Unleash the Despair' and she forced the stage choice to be Uh-oh which eventually became the Big Guy Blocker." Cacey sighed. "You know how there are usually two to five Big Guys? Well, for this section, their status would be revoked. Thus, we would have exactly fifteen people surviving the section."
She then raised a finger.
"However, if a person eliminates someone, they will usually be strapped to a chair so they don't get a double elimination. However, seeing that Monika isn't as cruel as Junko, the system would be less painful, albeit with the same system." Cacey said. "So definitely a tamer section in comparison. Still, you never know with this tournament."
She then nodded her head with a smile.
"Regardless, we have fighters to go over. Nothing will change except we won't state which are Big Guys or not." Cacey explained. "Back to you, guys."
The lights then went back on before going to a grinning Drake and Ashley.
"Thanks, Cacey, now we will go over the new fighters!" Drake grinned. "However, first thing first, we will cover the newer fighters!"
GARNET
NODE: MULTIVERSUS/STEVEN UNIVERSE
ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 6
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 4
"With her being the sole representative of Section One AND an impressive streak of Ed from Street Fighter, Landia from Kirby, Nasty Canasta from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem and Dante from Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, Garnet is truly showing that she is stronger than you!" Drake smirked.
"Granted, she barely survived Arena A of the last section but maybe with the Big Guy Blocker, she could muster enough steam to survive one more section." Ashley said.
PATRICK STAR
NODE: NICKELODEON ALL-STARS/SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS
ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 37
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3
"Managing to sneak past despite not knowing what is going on half of the time is Patrick!" Ashley beamed.
"Sure, how Ashley described may not be that flattering but hey, his hat trick of Elmer Fudd from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, Sulley from Kingdom Hearts and Mr. Frosty from Kirby balances it out." Drake shrugged.
MEWTWO
NODE: POKEMON
ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 45
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3
"Speaking of hat trick streaks, Mewtwo has continued the trend by getting rid of Numbuh One from Cartoon Network: Punch-Time Explosion, Bentley from Sly Cooper and Hugo from Final Fight!" Drake grinned.
"Even now, he still has a lot of stamina befitting the face of legendary Pokemon!" Ashley nodded. "So he should stick it out for a couple more sections."
LILY
NODE: STREET FIGHTER ALL-STARS
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 49
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"Avenging her predecessor T. Hawk and his usual poor streak at these things is her fellow Thunderfoot tribe, Lily!" Ashley smiled.
"Despite being the new kid on the block, she has shown that she could keep up with the veterans with her impressive elimination of Launchpad from Disney Television Animation All-Stars!" Drake smirked.
PUDDING FONG
NODE: TOKYO MEW MEW
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 50
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"Once again, it seems that Tokyo Mew Mew would be a darkhorse in this tournament just like in the first one with Pudding's eliminations of Shun'ei from King of Fighters XV and E. Honda from Street Fighter!" Drake grinned.
"And just like the last tournament, where there is Pudding, there is…" Ashley started.
CHOWDER
NODE: CARTOON NETWORK: PUNCH-TIME EXPLOSION/CHOWDER
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 51
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"...Her friend, Chowder and his pet fart cloud, Kimchi! Despite showing up in opposite arenas, they demonstrated that they didn't need to be together to show how skilled they are!" Ashley noted.
"And just like Shun'ei and E. Honda, Perry from Disney Television Animation All-Stars and Django from Ehrgeiz learned to not underestimate the duo!" Drake grinned.
IKE
NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/FIRE EMBLEM
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 52
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"When you have a big stick or in this case, a big sword, you just have to swing it. And swing it Ike does." Drake smirked.
"It helped eliminate Michigan from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem and Andrias from Disney Television Animation All-Stars." Ashley nodded.
TREECKO
NODE: POKEMON
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 60
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"Sure, it would be awkward to talk about anything… Chuggaconroy-related, that doesn't mean we don't talk about Willow the Treecko." Ashley said.
"Especially since she did really good for herself with her eliminations of Francisca from Kirby and Gnasty Gnorc from Spyro the Dragon." Drake nodded.
THE PANDA KING
NODE: SLY COOPER
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 61
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"Going into the next round not with a whimper but a bang is the Panda King!" Drake smirked.
"Showing that he will not go out with a pitter like in the last tournament, he eliminated Bark from Sonic the Hedgehog and Temjin from Art of Fighting." Ashley nodded.
ARIEL
NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/THE LITTLE MERMAID
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 63
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"Finally showing everyone why Xero should have put her in the Tournament of Kikai is Ariel!" Ashley beamed.
"With her impressive eliminations of Oatchi from Pikmin 4 and Big Band from Skullgirls, she is, pun intended, making a splash!" Drake frowned.
SHINGO YABUKI
NODE: KING OF FIGHTERS XV
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 69
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"Shingo has done something that his idol, Kyo, hasn't done… Ever! Survive an UVR section!" Drake grinned.
"Sure, it is through the skin of his teeth, but he showed a good fight against Wolf from Super Smash Bros." Ashley chuckled.
SCRAT
NODE: ICE AGE
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 72
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 2
"Showing that he will never stop chasing that accursed acorn is Scrat!" Ashley exclaimed.
"Sure, he definitely needs the least amount of… Direct fighting in all of the surviving fighters but considering that both Rick from Kirby and Hector from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem fell to him AT THE SAME TIME, yeah, he is clearly not one to underestimate." Drake reminded.
PENNY PROUD
NODE: DISNEY TELEVISION ANIMATIONS ALL-STARS/THE PROUD FAMILY
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 75
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
Drake frowned. "I… Don't know where to start with the winner of the original Tournament of Kikai. On one hand, she was one vote away from being eliminated. On the OTHER hand, she was one vote away from getting the TOP slot."
"Yes, quite a weird situation she was in." Ashley said before shrugging. "But she DID win the Safe Zone voteform in Arena 2 so at least there is that. Regardless, let's go to the new fighters!"
CLAIR ANDREWS
NODE: EHRGEIZ
Ashley frowned at her.
"Oh, and already we are already getting one of the two protagonists of Ehrgeiz's side mode, Quest Mode." Drake noted.
"Well, I suppose all types make a fighting game roster." Ashley sighed.
Drake raised an eyebrow. "Um, what's THAT supposed to mean?"
"Well, in Quest Mode, one of the two protagonists died against the final boss and the other one has to go finish the job." Ashley explained. "After they do so, they gain the Phoenix Down, which is a common item in the Final Fantasy games, but here, it is a special MacGuffin."
Drake nodded his head. "Uh-huh…"
"The surviving protagonist has no choices: Keep the Phoenix Down for themselves or use it on their ally. If Koji uses the selfish route, not only does he feel bad but he gets karma by being trapped in the labyrinth the Phoenix Down was in." Ashley explained before frowning. "But Clair… Not only did she get away scot-free but she hardly felt guilty about what she did."
Drake's eyes bugged out at this. "Oh, that's… Oof…"
"And her and Koji's moral compass is reflected in their fighting style." Ashley continued. "While Koji is a brutal yet still fair fighter, Clair is more pragmatic with groin attacks and hidden blades in her wrists."
"...Okay, the hidden blades are forgivable but having groin attacks in your core moveset." Drake winced. "Yeahhhhh…"
"Yeah, between that and the fact that she wields Jeet Dune Do, people would be wise not to drop their guard around her." Ashley said, sternly.
Drake nodded. "Whether in a good way or bad, she is definitely going to be a threat."
LION
NODE: TOM & JERRY: WAR OF THE WHISKERS
Drake and Ashley both blinked twice.
"Um…" Drake started.
Suddenly, a blur came from off-screen and in front of the two, startling them.
"Lion is a one-shot character from the cartoon 'Jerry and the Lion'. It is about a… Well, lion that escaped from the circus." Catherine grinned.
She then rolled her eyes.
"Well, considering that animals in circuses, especially the earlier ones, are often abused to do tricks, it is no wonder why he wanted to run away." Catherine muttered. "When he says that he dislikes the corny music or the crackle of popcorn bags, I consider it the trigger for his trauma."
She then brightened up.
"Anyway, Lion came across Jerry and he asked Jerry to help him return to Africa. Of course, being a Tom and Jerry cartoon, there has to be slapstick." Catherine explained. "Basically, Jerry is trying to steal food to give to Lion but Tom has to stop him. Of course, Lion returns the favour by being the Spike here, so while 'random', I think he is a fitting choice for an Echo Fighter for Spike."
She then frowned.
"I suppose I should talk about the lion from You're Lion from Tom and Jerry Tales, whoever considering that he not only looked different but also he is the complete opposite of how the original lion was portrayed, I don't think they are the same person." Catherine said.
She then brightened up.
"So yeah, Jerry and the Lion was a classic cartoon so there is nothing wrong with having a one-shot." Catherine beamed.
Drake and Ashley blinked twice.
"...I know you haven't seen much screentime due to SSBFreak focusing more on his e-book than his own UVR tournament but was it really necessary to spotlight-bomb OUR recap show?" Drake asked.
Catherine raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so you are confident that YOU two would give Lion a decent segment."
Drake and Ashley both raised their fingers to protest, only to freeze before any words left their mouths.
"...Didn't think so." Catherine spat.
With that, she walked off-screen. Drake and Ashley paused before looking at each other.
RICHTER BELMONT
NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/CASTLEVANIA
"Ooh, it is Tinyhammer's main!" Drake noted.
"Technically, he is Tinyhammer's SECOND main." Ashley corrected.
Drake looked at Ashley in exasperation. "Simon and Richter are literally the same character moveset-wise, dude."
"It is still based on personal preference." The wizard insisted.
Drake rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Yo, Barry, Rinky, it is time!"
The camera then went over to a grumpy Rinky. "Well, THAT'S a dramatic way to introduce us for this update!"
"Now, now." Barry said, rolling his eyes. "Castlevania is a side-scroller platformer game starring a vampire hunter from a long line of them called the Belmont Clan. Their mission is simple: Enter Dracula's castle to kill him after being reincarnated."
"While carrying a bunch of cool weapons as well! Like using various weapons like throwing hand-axes, boomerang crosses and of course, the family's special weapon, a whip aptly named the Vampire Killer, inspired by Indiana Jones!"
"The games actually have three different genre categories which have their own names. Classicvanias where it is a Pseudo-platformer where all types of monsters tries to kill him. Not unlike Ninja Gaiden." Barry explained, counting it off with his fingers. Second is Metroidvania where you go around a large platform labyrinth and destroy various bosses and collect various items and sub-weapons. And Modernvanias inspired by 3D Hack N Slashes from Devil May Cry and the previous God of War."
"It has spawned several games as well as spinoffs, comics and an experimental fighting game to see what happens if Castlevania meets Death Note." Rinky explained.
Barry blinked twice. "...Well, that's one way to describe Judgment."
"Look, I don't hate it as much as Wally. Heck, I actually liked it. Even the weakest part, which is the redesigns, is more mixed with me." Rinky explained. "Cornell's redesign is awesome. Eric and Maria though? Eh…"
"But anyway, along with that, it also got a NetFlix anime, various crossovers and cameos in other Konami games, showing up in Super Smash Brothers, Brawlhalla AND DreamMix TV World Fighters." Barry added. "Back to you guys!"
The camera then went to a nodding Drake. "Thanks, guys."
"Now Richter is a full-on zoner. Not only his whip, the Vampire Killer gives him insane reach in his NORMAL moves but three of his four specials are projectiles." Ashley explained.
"An arcing throwing axe, a boomerang cross and a holy water pillar trap." Drake added. "His last special is a simple uppercut and even that he is more of a get-off-me-tool."
"I mean it is but you can be surprised how good it is at KOing damaged enemies." Ashley explained. "To top it all, Richter is a heavyweight so he is very tricky to KO if you manage to break through his projectile onslaught."
"The Belmonts haven't been doing that hot in the UVR tournaments." Drake frowned.
"In comparison to their fellow Smashers? I guess." Ashley admitted before shrugging. "But Simon did not only survive two sections in the third Battle of the Luminaries but he managed to get the first elimination of BOTH of them."
"Good point. It all depends on the cards that have been dealt." Drake mused, rubbing his chin.
JACK SKELLINGTON
NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
"Looks like Jack isn't getting an automatic pass to the Halloween section this time around." Drake lamented.
"Don't worry, knowing Xero, he probably has some OTHER way to make that section stand out." Ashley said, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah, you are right. I guess we can trust his judgement on this." Drake sighed.
"...Context or not, I can't believe you just said that UNIRONICALLY." Ashley muttered. He then shook his head. "But yeah, despite Jack not going to be in this tournament's Halloween section, history still seems to repeat that he is destined to fight a Belmont with his own whip."
"Yeah, I noticed that too. Especially since their draws are close to each other." Drake nodded. "But yeah, this may not be Halloween, but that doesn't mean we can't give the Pumpkin King a proper introduction! Hit it, Rinky!"
The camera then went to a smirking Rinky. "Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange? Come with us and you will see, this is our town of Halloween."
"The Nightmare Before Christmas is a stop-motion movie created by Tim Burton. Despite it showing up in Kingdom Hearts, it was not made by Disney," Barry corrected. "Well, not mostly, anyway. It was STILL going to be uploaded under the name, but Walt Disney thought it was too scary."
"...Too scary?" Rinky asked. "When he gave the green light to Maleficent, Ursula and even Chernabog aka the SATAN of Disney and THIS is where he crosses the line."
"Maybe the stop-motion is too drastic a change for Disney?" Barry shrugged. "Anyway, it was posted under Touchstone Pictures. It was about a place that has a forest that leads to a different world. And each world represents a different holiday like Christmas, Easter and of course, Halloween!"
"Said residents love the scare people and there isn't someone who likes that more than the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington!" Rinky grinned. "Though he wanted to push the envelope a little more."
"One day when he was taking a walk, he managed to stumble onto the door to Christmas Town and as you would expect, he was bewildered by the concept of Christmas." Barry explained. "So he does what anyone would do. Kidnapped Santa Claus."
"Yeah… Jack isn't the brightest of lanterns outside of Halloween." Rinky winced. "The movie didn't get a proper sequel but it DID get one in terms of a video game tie-in called Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge AND a video game tie-in PREQUEL called the Nightmare Before Christmas: the Pumpkin King."
"The cast of Nightmare Before Christmas have taken over Disneyland of America and Japan's Haunted Mansion every Halloween to the point that the main antagonist has appeared as the mascot." Barry explained. "So yeah, while the Nightmare Before Christmas is an unorthodox Disney character, they deserve their representation in Kingdom Hearts, Disney's Sorcerer's Arena and Disney Mirrorverse! Back to you guys!"
The camera then went to a nodding Ashley. "Thank you, guys!"
"Now judging by his lank appearance, Jack is actually a Glass Cannon. He has low defence but he also has fire, ice, electricity and gravity magic." Drake explained.
"And that is just his abilities in the Kingdom Hearts game. He also has the Soul Robber from Revenge of Oogie Boogie, a gooey creature that could turn into a whip." Ashley explained. "Oh, and did we mention that the same game is similar to DEVIL MAY CRY?"
"So yeah, this may not be Halloween but that doesn't mean Jack isn't going to fight like it is." Drake smirked.
PICHU
NODE: POKEMON
Drake and Ashley's smiles vanished as they both remembered what to Pichu at the LAST UVR tournament."
"...It is impossible to think about Pichu without thinking about how he went through in the third Battle of the Luminaries." Drake frowned.
"Yeah, I still remember his scary face when he showed up brainwashed." Ashley shuddered.
"Don't even get me started. You knew how scared I was that he was going to cause a blackout just like in the third Megamix Tournament." Drake scolded. "And that is not even getting into the entire life-and-death cycle he went through."
He then slapped his cheeks together.
"Come on… I know it is hard not to think about it, but we should focus on the positive." Drake said with a weak smile.
"Yeah… You're right." Ashley said. "Sorry about that, Rinky."
"Nah, don't mind waiting off-screen." The ghost reassured.
"Pichu. The Tiny Mouse Pokemon. Despite this Pokémon's cute appearance, those who want to live with one should prepare to be on the receiving end of its electric jolts."
"Dexter ain't exaggerating. In Super Smash Bros, Pichu is not only faster than Pikachu, but he was STRONGER than Pikachu!" Drake grinned. "No, really, there is a reason why he almost caused a blackout."
"But to compensate, Pichu is the lightest character in the series and whenever he uses an electric attack, he always hurts himself." Ashley noted. "So while he could hit fast AND hard, one more hit and he could be sent flying."
"Tell that to Static Shock and Korra." Drake snarked. He then stifled a cough. "But also his ability is Static which has a slim chance of paralysing the opponent if hit with a physical attack and his hidden ability is Lightning Rod which absorbs any and all electric attacks."
"Also, it is not out of the question that he could use moves like Electro Ball and Disarming Voice." Ashley explained. "Despite being one of the least intimidating fighters in Super Smash Bros, he is definitely an unexpected threat!"
"That and he is determined to make up for being brainwashed and later dying and reviving in the last tournament!" Drake nodded.
WAVE THE SWALLOW
NODE: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG
"Oh, we are starting with one of the Babylon Rogues already?" Ashley asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Looks like it. I still can't believe that they were a part of the HERO group in the third Battle of the Luminaries." Drake said in awe.
"Now, now, the Babylon Rogues aren't villains. And if they are, then Shannon is a villain too." Ashley scolded.
Drake paused before smirking. "Good point, good point! And Wave DID not only get an elimination in said tournament but she somehow managed to SURVIVE the section."
"To be fair, it is more because she is important to the story." Drake reminded.
"Not wrong, but I took a sneak peek at the votes for Wave so far and the votes seemed to be running down the middle." Ashley noted.
"...You said that about Infinite and yet he ended up in the Bottom 5." Drake reminded.
Ashley winced. "I-In any case, Wave is a character that originated from Sonic Riders so naturally she has her Extreme Gear, a hoverboard." Ashley explained. "She is also a Fly character so her jumps with it are really high."
"She is also a skilled technician, planting bombs on her opponents and whacking them with a comically-sized wrench." Drake explained.
"I don't think the Babylon Rogues would automatically be in the Bottom 5, but I don't know…" Ashley mused.
"Well, we just have to wait and see." Drake shrugged
BEAST
NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Drake's eyes lit up. "Monika did it! Monika actually did it! She made an Old Man joke!"
"I guess it is hard to think about Beauty and the Beast besides the Disney version without thinking about the ones covered by Phelous." Ashley said, rolling his eyes.
"How could you not, the Old Man is SO iconic!" Drake grinned. "Like, you can't create a more Designated Hero father if you tried!"
"Yeah, well, we aren't talking about THAT Beauty and the Beast." Ashley scolded.
"Yet." Drake smirked.
"Oh Magus, don't give Xero and Maurice ideas!" Ashley groaned. "Cut to Barry and Rinky, please!"
The camera then went to a singing Rinky. "Tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme. Beauty the Beast."
"Beauty and the Beast is the thirtieth entry in the Disney Animated Canon, being a retelling of the fairy tale AND the 1946 film of the same name." Barry explained
"It is about a prince who has been cursed by a fairy to turn into a beast. And no, it was never explained." Rinky explained. "There is also his stupid old man, two harpies for children, along with a third child who is 'supposedly' beautiful to the point that BEAUTY is her name. I watched a good chunk of Beauty and the Beast cartoons thanks to Phelous, they're not THAT beautiful."
"The father leaves to check up on his work, but it got all wet so it is completely useless. So he claims." Barry shrugged. "So he walked into this castle and thought that just because no one said no, he could walk in, eat their food and spend the night."
Rinky rolled his eyes. "Even I know that is illegal. So the stupid old man tries to leave, but then remembers that his favourite child, Beauty, wanted a rose so picks it. So apparently the Beast didn't mind the trespassing or the theft of his food but the theft of his actually-not-magical roses!"
"The old man begged for his life, but the Beast agreed if they let him have his daughter as a prisoner." Barry sighed. "So despite Beauty being his so-called favourite, the old man was like "Sure" and let her go. It is then Beast acted like an incel until Beauty was like "Oh, fine. I will marry you if you shut up" and they lived happily ever after."
"And people think the DISNEY version is the embodiment of Stockholm Syndrome?" Rinky asked in disbelief.
"To be fair, nobody would even have heard of the other ones." Barry reminded. "Needless to say, Disney expanded on the plot by having The Beast be a spoiled prince who was punished for his greedy heart and everyone got punished as well."
"Also, Belle has more traits like a passion for reading, being strong-willed and not falling for the town idol." Rinky explained. "As you expect, the movie was a big hit with it spawning two midquels. But we don't know about them."
"But it DID spawned a pre-school show where a live-version of Belle tells various stories to children called Sing Me A Story with Belle." Barry added.
"Oh yeah. I have completely forgotten about that." Rinky realised. "How did Wally and especially Catherine miss THAT?"
"To be fair, most people don't talk about it. Hell, Xero and Maurice the OCs of the DISNEY ENTHUSIAST didn't name-drop the show." Barry pointed out.
"Was it really that bad?" Rinky frowned.
"As far as preschool shows go, no. Like most preschool shows, it is harmless enough." Barry shrugged. "But yeah, back to you guys."
The camera then went back to a nodding Drake. "Thanks, guys. Also, nice one showing us something we haven't seen before."
"Indeed. Should have known that the Disney Princess who is a canon bookworm would be the one selected to read stories to children." Ashley nodded.
"Well, I wish that we could say more about the Beast or Adam depending on how you like to call him but what we see is what you get with him." Drake sighed. "Super-sharp claws, super strength, deceptive speed and even a roar attack."
"Then again, not having that many unique abilities isn't an automatic downfall. He DID manage to get two eliminations in the last tournament." Ashley reminded.
"Yeah. Well, I know that this is one or two days before the deadline for this update but we have to cut it out here." Drake sighed.
"Hopefully, by then, we already alerted the people on Deviantart AND enough." Ashley nodded.
"But stay tuned because we will be right back with the remaining cast!" Drake grinned.
