The camera then went back to a grinning Drake and Ashley.
"Welcome back! Even though this update may come AFTER the timeline, we will try to make up for lost time!" Drake offered.
"Indeed! There is still time left so maybe Orange-Ratchet may accept at least one late vote but who knows!" Ashley shrugged. "So now, let's see how fast we can speed through these."
RON STOPPABLE
NODE: DISNEY TELEVISION ANIMATION ALL-STARS/KIM POSSIBLE
TEAM: DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINALS
Drake grinned. "Ron! Rufus!"
"Can't have a Kim Possible rep with him!" Ashley grinned. "In fact, Kim Possible is so iconic so it is only fair to have FOUR reps."
"Not like ANOTHER Disney cartoon that also got four reps." Drake frowned. "I am saying they DON'T deserve it? Not entirely. But still."
"We'll call Xero and Maurice when said node comes up. But for now, this isn't about them. It is about Kim Possible." Ashley reminded.
"Yeah, you are right." Drake sighed. He then grinned. "And Kim Possible isn't covered yet so let's go to our node research team!"
The camera then went to a grinning Rinky. "I'm your basic, everyday girl and I'm here to save the world! You can't stop me cause I'm Kim-Pos-Si-ble!"
"She may be bragging but she ain't exaggerating!" Barry chuckled. "Kim Possible is an action hero/high school dramedy protagonist that is an multi-talented cheerleader who goes to high school, but when trouble calls for it, she is called on many missions."
"Trust me, it is much cooler than it sounds! No, really, Kim's cheerleading skills are the definition of She-Fu!" Rinky grinned. "She used to fight various bad guys!"
"But at the core, she is still a teenager and still has to deal with everyday life." Barry explained. "The show does a good job of showing both sides of her life."
"And she is far from the only character in the cast like Kim's complete opposite best friend and later LOVER, Ron Stoppable, the blue-skinned mad scientist Dr. Drakken and the green-clad queen of snark, Shego!" Rinky grinned. "And who can forget Ron's naked mole rat pet, Rufus!"
"The show had spawned four seasons and despite being a spoof of the action genre, created a lot of story." Barry reminded. "Like Kim and Ron dating."
"Like Drake said, Kim Possible earned four reps in the roster." Rinky grinned. "Back to you guys!"
The camera then went to a nodding Drake. "Thanks, guys!"
Ashley frowned as he looked at Ron's picture. "I don't know… Make no mistake, Ron definitely has his epic moments, he is mostly a comic relief character."
"Oh, you didn't know. Apparently, Ron finally mastered his Mystical Monkey Power." Drake explained.
Ashley blinked twice. "Mystical… Monkey… Power?"
"Basically it is a form of mystical energy emanating from four jade monkey idols being gifted with an instinctive knowledge of the martial arts of 'Tai Shing Pek Kwar' also known as Monkey Kung-Fu as well as superhuman speed and strength."
"But… Ron is AFRAID of monkeys." Ashley reminded.
"Oh, trust me, the show doesn't shy away from the irony AT ALL." Drake muttered. "But yeah, it is basically enhanced martial arts. And I do mean advanced. I genuinely think that he is canonically stronger than KIM!"
Ashley's eyes bugged out. "No lie?"
"No lie!" Drake grinned. "And while Rufus isn't much of a direct fighter, he still had his own badass moments."
"Huh. I am actually interested to see how Ron will fight." Ashley admitted.
"So I will! Booya!" Drake smirked.
VILGAX
NODE: CARTOON NETWORK: PUNCH-TIME EXPLOSION/BEN 10
Ashley shuddered. "Even now, Vilgax gives me the creeps."
"Yeah, they really said Ben 10 needed an intimidating Big Bad after Kevin 11." Drake nodded. "Speaking of Ben 10, let's cut to Barry and Rinky!"
The camera then went to a grinning Rinky. "Ooh, I've been waiting for this! Ben 10 is a cartoon series created in 2005 by a group called Man of Action, which has the best name by the way, which consisted of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly and Steven T. Seagle!"
"The plot goes as follows." Barry explained. "A ten-year-old boy called Ben Tennyson on the first night of his summer road trip with his grandfather, Max and his cousin, Gwen, found an alien watch-like device called the Omnitrix."
"It allows the user to transform into a lot of aliens, each with their own abilities" Rinky grinned. "With it, Ben fights evil threats with the Omnitrix while still getting into mischief.. However, he soon learns that getting the Omnitrix is not a coincidence and his family is more involved with aliens than he initially thought."
"Ben 10, the first cartoon, focuses on said cross-country trip where we see various things like the Plumbers, a… Weird name to call the Space Police, the various alien species. And Gwen becomes a Magical girl along the way." Barry explained.
"But the cartoon was a success with 4 seasons, 52 episodes and a TV movie. Ironically, one of, if not THE only Ben 10 things that Man of Action DIDN'T actually own." "Rinky explained.
"And like most well-received action shows, it got a sequel where Ben and Gwen are now teenagers." Barry explained. "The sequel called "Alien Force" takes place five years after the original cartoon where Ben was actually living a normal teenager life until he wasn't and Ben now must wear his Omnitrix with the help of his cousin, Gwen and his enemy turned ally, Kevin Levin."
"The show has gotten three seasons, 46 episodes and even had Dwayne McDuffie from the Justice League cartoon as the supervising producer." Rinky explained. "It has gotten ANOTHER sequel in the form of Ultimate Alien where Ben has gotten a new Omnitrix called the Ultimatrix which allows him to transform into "Ultimate" versions of his original alien forms."
"THAT cartoon lasted 46 episodes, three seasons and even had a crossover with Generator Rex." Barry explained. He then groaned. "Then, we had Omniverse and things felt downhill."
"What do you mean? I liked Omniverse." Rinky frowned.
"Omniverse isn't bad. By itself. But compared to the previous cartoons, even the original, it just feels… Juvenile." Barry sighed.
"Hey, sure it isn't as serious as the previous but it wasn't Teen Titans Go bad, we got a bunch of still cool-looking aliens and Rook was a cool addition." Rinky scolded.
"I guess. And it DID get a whopping EIGHTY episodes so it must be doing SOMETHING right." Barry sighed. "It also got a reboot which went back to back-to-basics and it is STILL kinda wacky, though they at least put in characters from later versions that didn't exist yet."
"Also, Ben 10 was good enough to get FOUR reps in Cartoon Network: Punch-TIme Explosion with the fourth rep being… A young version of himself just like Young Link?" Rinky asked in disbelief. "So yeah, a lot of love. Back to you guys."
The camera then went to a nodding Drake. "Thanks, guys."
"Now Vilgax is a swordsman, giving him a lot of range and power. He could also shoot laser beams from his eyes, though his projectile is not the greatest." Ashley explained. "Still, he has a shield seeing that he won't win zoning wars."
"He also has a blaster that is more of an ornamental weapon in Cartoon Network: Punch-Time Explosion, it IS still an extra potential weapon." Drake reminded. "Overall, he will be a big threat."
BLANKA
NODE: STREET FIGHTER
"Blanka!" Drake and Ashley cheered.
"First Mewtwo, then Penny and now Blanka? It seems that we are getting most of the Final 12 early on!" Drake grinned.
"Yeah. And he is not the only one appearing in this section!" Ashley agreed. "But we're getting ahead of ourselves."
"Agreed. Blanka is still doing well as always. Especially since he has gotten a job as a tour guide." Drake grinned. "Also, Blanka, as evident by his appearance, is an animalistic fighter.
"However, he isn't your run-of-the mill rushdown fighter." Ashley corrected. "He emits electricity from his body and rolls like Sonic the Hedgehog."
"Oh, and he could weaponise BLANKA-CHAN!" Drake grinned. "Taking a doll out and throwing it on the ground, he could electrify it and send it like a mini-drome for a projectile which Blanka never has!"
"6 is great for giving new life to not only the older characters' appearances and backgrounds but also their movesets!" Ashley nodded. "And Blanka is going to bring that freshness, along with Blanka-Chan to the world!"
Then, the Mystery Fighter alarm went off.
"Speaking of freshness, we have our first Mystery Fighter of the section." Drake grinned.
"Let's see what fresh faces will face us!" Ashley grinned.
USHI
NODE: FIGHTERS DESTINY
Ashley blinked twice before throwing up his hands in frustration. "Of course, Maurice will invite back the dancing cow! Of course! Of course!"
"To be fair to Maurice, it gives up a good point." Drake piped up.
Ashley raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"Sure, obviously not as common as rabbits but are cows and bulls characters really THAT rare?" Drake asked, scratching his head.
"Hmm… Good question. Though Toro the Bull and Heffer Wolfe ARE in the cast so it is not like bovines aren't used PERIOD." Ashley reminded.
"Good point. Off the top of my head, I remembered Cow from Cow and Chicken, the main trio from Disney's Home on the Range and… Well, most of the cast from Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa." Drake explained. "Hell, if he wanted to take the same route as what SSBFreak did with Merengue, he could pick ANY of the bovine villagers from Animal Crossing."
"Do you think Maurice counts minotaurs as bovine characters because I already thought of a few like Teros from Brawlhalla, Alistair from League of Legends and Iron Will from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic." Ashley offered.
Then, the phone rang. Drake raised an eyebrow before answering it.
"Ello, Maurice? You're on the air." Drake greeted.
"I just wanted to come in and say that you have brilliant ideas all around." Maurice offered. "I may consider one of your suggestions in the future."
"...But other than that, you can't say anything." Drake mused.
"Pretty much. They ARE called MYSTERY Fighters for a reason." Maurice reminded. "All I am saying is that I am not going to let Xero have all of the fun."
"Considering how disastrous it is for Xero to have ANY kind of power, that is not a bad idea." Ashley smirked.
Maurice let out a laugh. "But yeah, regardless of my choices: Ushi was my first choice for a returning Mystery Fighter."
"Can't blame you. I think… She is the ONLY Mystery Fighter who we confirmed is picked solely by you." Drake admitted.
"Well, there are actually a few but yeah, Ushi was the most prominent." Maurice said. "So yeah. Just thought I would give my two cents. Bye."
"Bye." Drake said as he hung up. "Well, Mystery Fighter usually means new node. Barry, Rinky, break it out!"
The camera then went to a smirking Barry. "Fighters Destiny, also known as Fighters Cup, is a 3D fighting game that is on the N64, developed by Genki in Japan and then ported overseas by Ocean Software."
"Though it is a fighting game, it mostly has a more realistic set-up." Rinky said. "Or at least realistic as a game with a literal dancing cow and having the arena by tall pillars that if you fell off you would break one limb at the most positive."
Barry chuckled nervously. "Basically, instead of health bars, it follows a scoring system. You will earn points based on doing actions like getting a knockdown, doing a special attack and getting a ring out. Each round lasts 30 seconds and both fighters have a stamina bar. When said stamina is depleted, they will be dizzied and easy pickings for a free knockdown. However, if 30 seconds pass and nobody earns any points, the points will be given by a judge. First to seven points win."
"Now that sounds tedious but the rounds actually go by quite quickly if you are not careful." Rinky warned. "A knockdown earns three points and a SPECIAL MOVE knockdown has earned four points so you could win a match in just two rounds."
"The game was met with mixed reactions. On one hand the fighting game community disliked it for having characters with bland designs, on a console that doesn't have that many quality fighting games or the unconventional system or all of the above." Barry frowned.
"On the OTHER hand, it spawned a sequel." Rinky said. He then brightened up. "Oh! And here is something Stinky and Allison missed in the last tournament. Apparently, it got a spiritual successor called Toy Fighter. It basically Fighters Destiny… But with toys."
"Also, there is a floating ring around the two so the fighters could have much movement. However, they could still wall… Um, ring-jump from it." Barry explained. "So yeah, back to you guys."
The camera went to a disgruntled Drake. "There is a fighting game that featured toys!? Why didn't Stinky and Allison dug a little deeper and fought out about it! I would have used one of those in the last Battle of the Luminaries!"
"There, there, at least you have a potential fighter for the next one." Ashley offered.
"Yeah, you're right." Drake sighed before reading his tablet. "Fortunately, Mizuumi has given us a better look at Ushi's fighting style. She has top-tier Health and the fastest health regen."
"That's perfect for a Battle Royale like this!" Ashley noted.
"Indeed. She has some potential for effective long-game strategies revolving around her parry, risky Counter, and rest holds." Drake said. "So while she is a Joke Character, she is still a Lethal one."
"She DID get an elimination in the last tournament and with more people actually remembering who she is, maybe she will get TWO eliminations." Ashley shrugged.
NAKORURU
NODE: KING OF FIGHTERS XV/SAMURAI SHODOWN
"Feels weird to have Samurai Shodown as a sub-node instead of a main one." Ashley mused.
"Yeah, that is what it felt to watch Sonic be part of the Super Smash Brothers roster instead of his own." Drake admitted. "Though if Haohmaru didn't show up in King of Fighters XV via DLC, I have no doubt that Xero will give Haohmaru his own node like Kasumi, Guy and Pikachu."
"Same here." Ashley nodded. He then paused. "Say, how you WILL put in Penny in the following tournament?"
"Nah, probably just keep her as a Mystery Fighter." Drake shrugged. "Sure, she is an UVR winner and she deserves her own node, but I think we should leave that to the Disney experts. Maybe if there is a Disney platform fighter, THEN we will talk."
"I don't doubt that. Until then though, let's focus on the sub-node of the very first UVR tournament." Ashley said. "Barry, Rinky, you do what you have to do!"
The camera then went to a nodding Barry. "Samurai Shodown is yet ANOTHER SNK fighting-game though instead of martial arts, people fight with weapons. ALL of them. In fact, it was THE first weapon-based fighter."
"It takes place in the closing years of the Edo period with various people like samurai, ninjas, knights and Aztec warriors!" Rinky grinned. "Each with their own weapon and fighting style!"
"Now despite having aggressive fighters like Genjuro and Kazuki, Samurai Shodown is a more defensive game." Barry explained. "Why? Because one heavy attack would take off nearly HALF of the health bar. So you have to think wisely with your character's respective moves."
"Now that there aren't any rushdown characters but yeah THEY have to think about their gameplan." Rinky said. "The series spawned six games and four 3D spinoffs. And even now, some people are still playing the latest game that came out in 2019."
"And if that is not recent enough for you, Haohmaru, Darli Dagger and of course, Nakoruru showed up in King of Fighters XV." Barry grinned. "Then again, Samurai Shodown was no stranger to crossover games. Back to you guys!"
The camera then went to a nodding Drake. "Thanks, guys."
Ashley scratched the back of his head. "Well, this is awkward. We talked more about Nakoruru's node or in this case, her subnode but not her. Despite her being the MASCOT of Nakoruru."
"Yeah, she is the second Samurai Shodown character to show up in a canon King of Fighters game." Drake nodded.
Ashley crossed his arms. "I know Xiao Lon is canon, but we don't know what the entire Maximum Impact line-up are. Hell, even if it was, I heard that the Hanzo Hattori from that game was not the REAL one!"
"And the Geese Howard in that game was literally dead and yet he appears fine in the first Battle of the Luminaries!" Drake shot back.
Ashley shook his head. "Whatever. We are getting distracted again. Nakoruru, despite being a martial pacifist, is a rushdown fighter that excels at countering conventional defensive tools on her way in."
"Indeed. She is known for her speed, dashing attacks with her kodachi, deflecting projectiles with her robe." Drake added. "She could even ride on her hawk, Mamahaha, as if she was Mario flying on an owl in 64."
"...I am still in awe that Antonov and whoever ran the KoF tournament in XV was the one who okayed Nakoruru letting someone with an ATTACK HAWK in the tournament." Ashley said.
"To be fair, Antonov probably thought the previous tournaments would have allowed it." Drake reminded. "In Maximum Impact, they let Lien have a satellite beam from outer space for crying out loud."
"Again, we don't know if all of it is canon." Ashley said, shaking his head.
"They freaking most of the OST from all three Maximum Impact games into the Jukebox!" Drake scolded.
"Andddddd we are ending the segment, barely talking about Nakoruru that much." Ashley said, rolling his eyes. "Sorry you have to deal with such boneheadedness, Nakoruru."
MARX
NODE: KIRBY
Needless to say, Ashley let out a deep shout. "ACK!"
"Oh, it is Marx." Drake said, not looking fazed.
"Why would Xero and Maurice invite THAT psychopath!?" Ashley exclaimed.
"Um, because not only is a well-known Kirby villain, but he is also Star Allies AND a boss in Super Smash Bros Ultimate." Drake reminded.
Ashley gave Drake an exasperated look. "...I worry about how Xero is a bad influence on you. I really do."
The vampire rolled his eyes. "Anyway, Marx is the final boss of the sub-game, Milky Way Wishes in Kirby Super Star. However, seeing that he doesn't want to destroy the multiverse."
"Yet." Ashley muttered.
"We should focus more on his Star Allies fighting style. Not that he doesn't have moves from this boss fight in his game." Drake pointed out.
Ashley let out a sigh. "Indeed. First off, his weapon of choice is a beach ball. As comical as that sounds, it is very versatile. He could balance on it, kick at enemies where it explodes into fireworks, let it down like a bomb. He could even ride on enemies as if THEY were a ball."
"He could also spit out beach balls from his mouth in the air. How? Why with his wings from his boss fight!" Drake grinned. "Not only that, he could dive into a dark portal in the ground before popping back out and splitting himself apart to create a giant black hole!"
"Also, if someone, for some reason, decides to do a Limit Break with him, he can do a wave motion gun from his gun or for those who are unfamiliar with TVTropes, a giant laser beam the same size of a Kamehameha from Dragonball." Ashley explained. "Also, regardless of the ally, his beach ball could be engulfed in five elements: fire, electricity, water, ice and wind."
"So yeah, Marx should be a big threat and regardless of how well he does, he WILL make you remember him!" Drake grinned.
"That is what I am afraid of." Ashley said, rolling his eyes.
AGGRON
NODE: POKEMON
"Aggron, the Iron Armour Pokemon. Long ago, there was a king who wore a helmet meant to resemble the head of an Aggron. He was trying to channel the Pokémon's strength." Rinky's PokeDex explained from off-screen.
Drake gave a descending whistle. "You know for a fact that we got some king power here."
"Indeed. I hate to meet him in a cave." Ashley winced.
"Don't worry, you can't normally find a wild Aggron. You have to catch either an Aron or Lairon before evolving it." Drake offered.
"Well, I definitely feel safer." Ashley said with a weak smile. It then faltered. "Though the same can't be said for the people in the arena."
"Agreed. Aggron is the embodiment of the Mighty Glacier with poor Special stats and even worse Speed but a respectable Attack stat and an even higher Defence stat." Drake explained.
"Wait, DEFENCE is his highest stat and not Attack?" Ashley asked.
"Well, it makes sense seeing that he is a Dual Steel/Rock type." Drake explained. "And it is reflected in his abilities. Sturdy that prevents One-Hit KOs, Rock Head that prevents recoil damage and Heavy Metal that DOUBLES its already large weight."
"Oof. I know that Xero and Maurice wanted to be just as strict with Big Guys as we were in the third Battle of the Luminaries to think that he isn't a Big Guy." Ashley said in awe.
"Not like it would matter here." Drake said. "So yeah, he obviously benefits from Heavy Slam, Double-Edge and Take Down."
"Though according to this, Aggron could take advantage of his already impressive Defence stat with Iron Defence and Metal Burst, a Steel-type counter." Ashley noted, reading the tablet.
"Yep. Aggron would be one tough cookie to take down." Drake smirked.
Ashley blinked twice. "Wait, you said that Aggron was a dual Steel/Rock type?"
Drake raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"So he is quad weak to Fighting. In a tournament full of fighting game characters." Ashley reminded.
Drake winced at this. "Umm… Good thing that this tournament is focusing mostly on cartoons."
Ashley rolled his eyes before he was about to snark. Then, the Mystery Fighter Alarm went off.
"Oh, it is time for our second Mystery Fighter!" Ashley noted.
"Let's hope that they don't make it harder for Aggron." Drake said, chuckling nervously.
THE DEVIL
NODE: CUPHEAD
Drake's eyes widened. "Woah! Take a look at that!"
"Indeed! The Devil is showing up in this tournament when his right-hand man, King Dice, was in the third Battle of the Luminaries." Ashley said in awe.
"Wait a minute, hold on." Drake said.
He then picked up his tablet and fiddled through. Ashley raised an eyebrow at this. Then, Drake's pupils shrank.
"Hey, as we speak, the current section being shown to the public is the twenty-first one!" Drake pointed out.
Ashley's eyes widened at this. "Wait, really?"
"Yeah, small world!" Drake noted.
"Maybe not THAT small." Ashley frowned. With that, he looked at the camera. "Monika, did you have something to do with this?"
The redhead then reappeared behind the two.
"Nope. Because out-of-universe, the Section where the Devil appears came out BEFORE the King Dice section." Monika explained.
Ashley's eyes widened at this. "Wait, what?"
"Okay, there is no way that is a coincidence." Drake said, narrowing his eyes. "You have to do something with King Dice's switching just like you did with Adeleine & Ribbon and Yoko!"
Monika gave a sly smirk.
Drake and Ashley groaned. "Monika…"
"Oh, come on. King Dice was always going to come out in the early twenties. The issue is WHY." Monika scolded. "Hell, the Mystery Fighter list ORDER is the only thing I am not too familiar with due to Tinyhammer usually liking it as opposed to Orange-Ratchet."
"I guess." Drake said.
"Besides, you cannot deny that it was an awesome moment!" Monika grinned.
Drake returned the grin. "Oh, it is!"
Ashley slapped his forehead.
"But yeah, two cameos in one update. Not bad." Monika said with a wink.
With that, she just glitched out.
"...Just cut to Barry and Rinky." Ashley groaned.
The camera then cut to an exasperated Barry. "One of these days, Ashley's hair is going to turn white."
"Don't even joke. He will finally finish his lessons on holy magic." Rinky snarked.
"DAMN STRAIGHT I WILL!"
Barry and Rinky shook their heads before the latter stifled a cough.
"Well, Cuphead and his pal Mugman. They like to roll the dice. By chance they came upon a Devil's game and, gosh, they paid the price. Paid the priiiiiice!" Rinky sang. And now they're fighting for their lives on a mission fraught with dread. And if they proceed but don't succeed welllllll the devil will have their heads."
"Andddddd that's the plot of Cuphead. Goodnight, everybody!" Barry smirked. "But real talk though. Cuphead: Don't Deal with the Devil is a Run-and-Gun game developed by Studio MDHR."
"The game was conceived in 2010, announced in 2014, and,on September 29th, 2017, it was finally released as an Xbox One and Windows exclusive." Rinky said. "Microsoft funded part of the game's development, though because Studio MDHR is still an independent developer, Microsoft allowed the game to be ported to competing platforms."
"As Rinky sang, you have to go around fighting different bosses with magic finger guns that have a lot of abilities like a green homing projectile, a horseshoe boomerang and a short-range spread shot." Barry explained. "And said bosses are WILD."
"The game is intended to mimic the feel of a classic rubberhose animation cartoon, particularly a Max and Dave Fleischer one." Rinky explained.
"Unfortunately, this means hand-animated every character and effect in the game. So yeah, it was delayed… A lot." Barry frowned. "But obviously it has all worked out with a hard in a good way game, classic visuals, memorable characters and catchy music. It even got a DLC pass that gives us Miss Chalice, a NPC from the base game with her own moveset."
"Despite only having one game and one DLC, Cuphead is famous and showed up in other media." Rinky explained. "Like the Mii costume in Super Smash Bros Ultimate."
"And of course, it got its own Netflix cartoon which was a tie-in prequel to the game." Barry explained. "Overall, Cuphead is a legend."
"I can't believe that it wasn't in the FIRST Tournament of Kikai." Rinky frowned. "I distinctly remembered Cuphead even showing up as a Mystery Fighter Reserve choice but another choice was selected instead?"
"I am sure Xero has his reasons." Barry shrugged. "Anyway, back to you guys."
The camera then went to a nodding Ashley. "Nice work as always, guys."
"Now the Devil has three forms. However, due to the second and third forms being the size of the screen, I think it is safe to assume that he will be going with his first form." Drake mused.
"Basically, he could stretch his arms out with ram hooves attached to them to try to discombobulate his enemies and he could detach his head from his body and have it act as a creepy spider to try to stomp on his foes." Ashley said before wincing.
"He also has a long trident though it is more of a magic staff which he could summon either hovering flames or ricocheting orbs." Drake said. "Oh, and I don't know if this is just a Cuphead thing but you are parrying the pink ones for an extra jump."
"And of course, he is a cartoon so he isn't limited to just that." Ashley said, rolling his eyes. "I still can't believe Xero invited the DEVIL."
"To be fair, I DID invite Christopher Robin so…" Drake started.
Suddenly, he had an electrified magic rod in his face.
"...Come again?" Ashley asked.
"Um, nothing, sir." Drake winced.
"Yeah, that's what I thought." Ashley snarked.
KAZUYA MISHIMA
NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/TEKKEN
"I am still stunned that Kazuya was chosen to be the Tekken rep for Super Smash Bros. Jin is the hero and Heihachi is arguably the more iconic of the trio." Ashley mused.
"To be fair, he WAS the protagonist before Jin even existed and besides, Kazuya has the Devil Gene so…" Drake said. He then paused. "Oh, wait…"
"Hm? What's wrong?" Ashley asked.
"Um, I will explain later. I think it is better to explain in the combat segment." Drake said, scratching his cheek with his finger.
"Um, okay." Ashley said. "Barry, Rinky, final node research segment of the section, make it count."
The camera then went to Barry and Rinky looking around with wary looks on their faces. They then sighed in relief.
"Looks like we aren't getting any research node segment takeovers." Barry smirked.
Suddenly, Monika glitched in behind them. Though they didn't notice. Monika then makes a shushing motion with one hand before pointing to the side with the other one."
"I guess Lucky Chloe overused the Tekken guest quota for one lifetime." Rinky chuckled.
/-/-/-/-/-/
Lucky Chloe and Azucena were both bound and gagged on the ground as they writhed, trying to escape from their bound in vain. As they continued to angrily struggle, a certain person stood over them.
"Sorry, ladies. But the one behind the node research takeover is going to be ME. There is no way I am not going to take advantage of this seeing who is on the team."
/-/-/-/-/-/
"Well then. Tekken, known as Iron Fist, is Namco's most iconic fighting game and THE most iconic 3D game of all time." Barry explained.
"Now despite not having any special moves. At the start. Tekken is not an easy game." Rinky winced. "Kazuya has over 60 moves to pull from."
"It even got the Guinness World Record for longest-running story!" Barry noted. "Though I think it is about to end. At least with the main Mishima story."
"Yeah, I didn't think it would actually end but still." Rinky said in awe. "Looks like Catherine would eat her hat."
Barry blinked twice. "But Catherine doesn't WEAR a hat."
"Then, I just have to get her one to eat!" Rinky smirked.
Barry chuckled. "Alright, alright, we can do it after the show."
"But yeah, the series had spawned eight games, several spin-offs, an action game starring Nina Williams, a crossover with Street Fighter and even a Pokemon spinoff." Rinky noted. "And relevance is not a problem with Tekken 8 just coming out recently. Hell, the first DLC fighter, Eddy Gordo, is going to come out soon."
"Looks like the market of Eddy Gordo's Tears cups is about to go out of sale." Barry smirked.
"Oh, I wouldn't go THAT far. Did you see his hair?" Rinky said, rolling his eyes.
"Rinky, don't you start?" Barry scolded.
"Aw, come on! I could take the hair! If every OTHER man of colour in the media hasn't had it recently!" Rinky scolded.
Barry let out a deep sigh. "Back to you guys."
The camera then went to a frowning Drake. "Rinky IS right. Sure, the hair by itself isn't that bad, until it was pointed out to everyone."
Ashley rolled his eyes. "What is it you wanted to talk about?"
Drake's eyes widened. "Oh, right! Kazuya doesn't have the Devil Gene anymore."
Ashley's eyes widened at this. "Wait… WHAT!?"
"Yeah, both he and Jin lost it when they were having their final battle on a falling meteor." Drake explained.
Ashley blinked twice.
"...Trust me. That isn't the weirdest stage in Tekken history." Drake muttered.
"Um, okay, to say I didn't see… Any one THAT coming is an understatement." Ashley said.
"Don't misunderstand though." Drake warned. "Kazuya is still a threat. At first, he seems like a fundamental character but he has tricky stuff showing his ruthlessness."
"Indeed. Nothing would get in the way of what he wants." Ashley frowned.
"Especially to have the world's biggest sneaker collection." Drake smirked.
Ashley did a double take. "Wait, WHAT!?"
"Too late. We are at the final fighter!" Drake smirked.
BUGS BUNNY
NODE: LOONEY TUNES: WORLD OF MAYHEM
Drake did a descending whistle. "So in just four sections, we already have four of the twelve finalists from the section.
Ashley just stood stunned, still stunned by Drake's last comment about Kazuya. "Um, right?"
"No, really, I know it is a law to have the winner of the previous UVR enter in a very early draw." The vampire said. "Same with the runner-up, even if it is a bit more lenient."
"But Blanka and Bugs? Not so much." Ashley said. "I wonder if it is done on purpose to have a more fresh Finals."
"I don't think so. The Tournament of Kikai lives and breathes by the randomizer." Drake reminded.
The two then shrugged.
"So yeah, not the most explosive way to introduce the face of Looney Tunes himself but then again, he needs no introduction." Drake said.
"That and we did to put a list of his variants from World of Mayhem." Ashley explained.
"Hoo boy. Here we are." Drake groaned.
He then took a deep breath.
"There is Barber Bugs, Baseball Bugs, Bugs the Brave, Bunny O'Hare, Captain Bligh, Chungus Claus, Cowboy Bugs, Dr. Killpatient, Dunker Bugs, Fireman Bugs, Genie Bugs, GI Bugs, Happy Rabbit, Hillbilly Hare, Holiday Bugs Bunny, Hyde Bugs, Jester Bugs, King Bugs Bunny, Leopold, Lunar Bugs, Martian Bugs, Matador Bugs, Mr. Bugs, Neanderthal Bugs, Prisoner Bugs, Rabbit Rampage, Racketeer Rabbit, Red Riding Rabbit, Show Biz Bugs, Snowbunny Bugs, Super-Rabbit, The Masked Terror, Tux Bugs, Valkyrie Bugs, Winter Bugs."
With that, he took a deep breath before taking a class of water.
"So yeah. Bugs have a lot of stuff to work with." Ashley explained. "Again, not the best way to introduce the final fighter but I KNOW that he will make up for it with his inevitable elimination streak. Anyway, that is everyone! Normally, Lion, Vilgax and Marx would be Big Guys but seeing that the Big Guy Blocker is in effect, just fifteen people will be eliminated for this round!"
He then nodded.
"Now there are THREE Side Battles this time around. First off, is Scratch from Disney Television Animation All-Stars versus… Sephiroth from Ehrgeiz." Ashley said before wincing. "Win or lose, Scratch definitely got the short end of the stick."
By this time, Drake finally recovered. "Next is Jack O'Lantern from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy versus… The titular character of Pumpkin Jack. Huh. Maybe this IS the Halloween section after all."
Ashley rolled his eyes. "Anywayyyyy, the final side battle is Maki Harukawa from Danganronpa V3 and Della Duck from Disney Television Animation All-Stars versus the Waterwraith from Pikm… Wait, didn't Xero said that he already had a Pikmin Mystery Fighter before Monika forced in Oatchi?"
"Yyyyyyep." Drake said.
"And he was going to let THAT thing in the same section as Fang the Hunter." Ashley said.
"YYyyyyyyep." Drake said.
Ashley paused. "...I know that I sound like a broken record but Xero is just as villainous as the ACTUAL villains."
"Now, now, I know he deserves it but let's try to be nice to him when he comes back in the next section." Drake warned.
"Yeah, fair enough." Ashley sighed. "But yeah, the voting ends on the 20th of February. However, voting has already ended."
"There IS a chance for last-minute votes but don't push your luck." Drake warned.
Ashley then let out a deep sigh. "Glad THAT'S over."
"Hey, I know that he is a pest and all but I think we should send Xero a gift basket. You know, to help him to keep his mind off of you-know-what." Drake frowned.
"Yeah, while his memes drive me up the wall, I really liked Chugga's content." Ashley said, sadly.
"Hey, same here. That is how I felt when I found out the truth behind the Nostalgia Critic." Drake frowned.
Ashley then held his hand with a small smile.
"Now come. Even though Xero will most likely make us regret this gesture sooner or later, I still want to help him right now." Ashley offered.
Drake returned the smile before accepting it. "Yeah… All we could do is hope for recovery for everyone involved."
