Vaggie couldn't believe it. The hotel had barely withstood the annual extermination commenced by Heaven just over two months prior, now Heaven had scheduled yet another, no doubt as a form of retribution for Adam's demise.

"An extermination?" Launchpad remarked, sounding less concerned, "Bah! So what? It sounds like they're gonna get rid of a few bugs. What's so bad about that?"

Vaggie, well aware of what this event was became annoyed by his comment.

"WE'RE the bugs you dumbass! Those goons will come down here to brutally slaughter us mercilessly!"

Launchpad was shocked, "Okay now I'm freaked out."

Larry sighed, "Well…might as well prepare for my last meals…"

The ex-exorcist turned to Emeraldblade, who was equally flabbergasted.

"This is not good," the warrior told her friend, "I have a good suspicion this has something to do with Adam's death like you said the other day at dinner."

''Exactly what I was thinking hon," Vaggie reluctantly replied, "And to make matters worse, angels can't be harmed by anything other than Angelic Steel."

"Oh my, this isn't good one bit." Tulip commented.

"Well, now what?" Sniper asked.

Vaggie thought for a moment, "Hmm, there is one way we could call it off, but I'm certain it won't work, it will be a long shot no doubt."

"And what may that be friendo?" Iono asked.

"Emerald, you'll need to go to Heaven and try to convince Sera to call off the attack," Vaggie explained, "She's the head seraph."

"Got it," Emeraldblade responded, "But wait, aren't you coming too?"

"I can't…" Vaggie replied, "If Lute sees me, she'll definitely put me on ice, given that she probably holds me and Charlie responsible for Adam's death; she does idolize him you know."

"I understand," Emeraldblade nodded disappointedly.

"Hey Lady E, don't worry about V here, I'll go with you, I'll be your wingman in case something goes bad." Launchpad replied, patting the warrior on the back.

Vaggie rolled her eyes, "I have a bad feeling about this…"

"What you two will need is a portal to get there," Luicifer replied.

Emeraldblade turned to Blitzo, who raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, don't look at me girlfriend, the Grimoire can't get you to Heaven."

"That's where I come into play," Lucifer added, "I can get you there, but it will take a few days."

Emeraldblade sighed, "Very well."

"In the meantime, you'll just have to hang out down here once more," Vaggie noted, "And don't worry about hotel service, it's on the house hon."

Emeraldblade gave a bitter sweet smile, before everyone dispersed, getting ready for the big battle that was going to take place in the near future…that is, all except for Demoman, who was still fixated on the television broadcast.

After Katie Killjoy had finished reporting on the breaking news story, the camera panned over to reveal her co-anchor. The male entity was wearing a suit and tie, but his most prominent feature was the fact that his entire face resembled a black gas mask, complete with a blonde pompadour hairdo on his head.

It took only a moment before the Scotsman came to realize who the man must be.

"Pyro!"

Meanwhile, in the dilapidated castle that Soldier and Charlie were being held prisoner within, a stern conversation was being discussed…

"So, it seems you failed to complete the task I set upon you, how…disappointing…" a mysterious black knight was reprimanding Verosika Mayday; that knight being none other than Nightmare, the Azure Knight.

"It wasn't my fault you uncultured fool," the succubus countered, "I was forced to cancel my concert in Louisville because that traitorous bitch and her new girlfriend defeated me in a demon duel; I'm starting to question if working with you was a good idea in the first place."

Nightmare grumbled, "Wait, this individual you mentioned, this girlfriend, the foolish wizard described a girl interfering in his plans too, perhaps this person is one in the same…"

"Hmm," Verosika thought about the revelation, "She did mention that she was trying to stop your plans."

"Either way, she must be stopped…" Nightmare finished, "Begone you fool! Your incompetence has caused enough trouble!"

Verosika huffed, "Whatever…"

The succubus singer marched away, frustrated about everything that had happened so far that day.

As she was leaving, her phone began to ring, she pulled it out and proceeded to answer it.

"Verosika, thank god it's you!" Coco's voice answered on the other end.

"Talk bitch, can't you see I'm in a bad mood?!" she replied.

"We saw the race on TV, losing was bad enough, but things just got worse…"

Verosika raised her eyebrow, "What the hell are you talking about?"

"One of the mercenaries we've been holding prisoner apparently escaped, and soon enough they gathered a bunch of their friends and defeated us at your mansion in Pentagram City, one of them happened to be your ex-boyfriend Blitzo!" Coco explained.

Verosika groaned from hearing this news.

"They killed Kat, Milky suffered a concussion, and Ace…well that doctor injected him with…something, now he's out cold," Coco continued, "Josh and I got away with minor injuries, but we're still pretty shaken up."

"Damn it, are you saying they freed those fleshys too?!" she demanded to know.

"I'm afraid so boss," Coco answered, "But that's not the worst news, apparently another extermination has been scheduled to occur in a few weeks."

Verosika's eyes lit up "What?! Get the hell out of there immediately!"

"But what about those humans?" Coco asked.

"Forget about them, I'm tired of doing Nightmare's dirty work for now…"

With that, she hung up her phone and exited the premise.

As she was walking down one corridor, she was confronted by none other than her right-hand woman Kiki, catching the singer off-guard.

"I heard the conversation you had with Nightmare, and over the phone with the rest of the crew. You really made a bad move confronting Vaggie."

Verosika grimaced, "She just got lucky you shithead, if it wasn't for those meddling humans, I'd would've succeeded and collected those souls like Nightmare asked. I should've broken that Emerald-bitch's neck when I had the chance."

Kiki frowned, "You know Vaggie wasn't all that bad when I knew her as part of your crew, why do hate her so much?"

"She betrayed the gang; I thought I told you the story already," Verosika explained.

Kiki was not convinced.

"That doesn't sound like the whole story…"

Verosika grunted frustratedly, "Whatever, just stay out of my fucking way…"

With that, the succubus began to leave, Kiki looked on.

"I'm starting to think siding with Nightmare might be a mistake too…" she thought.

As the day wore on, the Sun finally sat and the moon climbed high into the night sky, the castle in turn became eerily quiet.

In the prison, Soldier had fallen asleep and was snoring loudly, however Charlie was looking out the iron-barred window at the moon, hoping for a miracle.

"Please Vaggie, if you could hear me, I just want to say…I'm sorry." She lamented.

"Psst!" a mysterious voiced called out from the direction of the cell entrance, "Over here!"

Charlie turned around and tried to adjust her vision to figure out who was calling her, but the glare of the moonlight obscured the mysterious entity's figure, leaving only a black silhouette visible.

"W-Who are you?!" the princess questioned frightfully.

"Let's just say I'm an old friend of Vaggie's…" the female voice answered, "Listen I don't have much time, but I plan on getting you and your friend out of here."

Charlie's eyes lit up, as a big smile formed on her face.

"You are?! EEEE!" she squealed.

"Ssh!" the voice silenced the princess, "Unfortunately, I can't get you out immediately. Astaroth, that wizard, and my boss are frequently guarding the only way out of here, and without any weapons, we're sitting ducks."

Charlie frowned, "But when will that time come?"

"I-I don't know," the voice replied, "Look, I'll figure out a way, your friends need you two."

With what, the figure left the dungeon without making a noise, soon enough, Soldier suddenly awoke, having heard Charlie's voice speaking to the mysterious entity.

"What the-, who in Sun Tsu's name were you talking to?" he demanded.

Charlie rolled her eyes, "Just…a friend."

Early the next day, Emeraldblade woke up to the sound of the phone by her bedside ringing, she picked it up and answered.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Emerald hon? Are you up?" Vaggie's voice said on the other end.

"Vaggie? Why are you calling me? It's like 6 o'clock in the morning."

"I know, but I have something to tell you, Tulip wants to meet you back in Louisville this morning, Lucifer and I have arranged a portal to transport you to Earth. She told me to send you a wake-up call, she says she has something special to give you."

Emeraldblade perked up.

"Alright, I'll get dressed and meet her there."

A few minutes later, Emeraldblade was all dressed and headed down to the lobby, there she met Vaggie and Lucifer, the latter of which conjured a portal for her back to Earth.

"Tulip already left to meet you there, I'll be there later on to return you both back to the Hotel before the day is over. She gave me this note before she left."

Emeraldblade nodded.

"Good luck out there dear," Lucifer bid farewell.

Emeraldblade left through the portal and emerged on the other end back in Louisville, all the while reading the note Vaggie handed her.

Meet me at Cherokee Park.

Emeraldblade spent the next good half hour locating the park, before finding its entrance on the east side of the city, the site was familiar to Emeraldblade, as part of it was travel through during the helicopter race.

She walked through the park until she came across a small shelter atop a tall hill overlooking a wide valley of trees. There, standing at the other end of the structure was Tulip, admiring the view before her, standing nearby was her Gardevoir.

"Tulip!" Emeraldblade called out.

Tulip turned around and smiled, "Oh? Emeraldblade, it's good to see you again."

Emeraldblade walked up to the gym leader, "I came when I got your message."

Tulip smiled, "I see your injuries have miraculously healed."

"Yeah, I think it has something to do with my sword, it grants me special powers under various circumstances," Emeraldblade explained.

Tulip nodded, before turning back to the valley before them "Naturally beautiful, that's how I'd describe this view."

"I agree," Emeraldblade acknowledged, "Especially during the morning."

"Vaggie had nothing but praise about you just before I left, your strength is a magic that can't be washed away."

Emeraldblade blushed, "I'm flattered."

Tulip turned to Emeraldblade, "Anyways, the reason why I wanted to meet you here happens to be something important. Given how well you and Gardevoir did as a team against that Malfested Gyarados, as well as the fact that you made the noble choice to spare its life, I thought I'd give you something special as a token of our friendship."

Emeraldblade's eyes lit up "Really?"

Tulip nodded, before turning to her pokémon behind her, "Gardevoir, would you care to do the honors?"

Tulip's Gardevoir graciously obliged with a bow, before gesturing something below at her feet. There standing timidly behind her "dress" was a small creature that resembled the taller pokémon, with two pink horns protruding from its head, and a short green bowl cut that covered its eyes. Aside for its hands, its body appeared to resemble an oversized dress. The tiny pokémon was clearly nervous towards the female warrior, unsure what to make of her.

"What's this little fellow?" Emeraldblade asked.

"Hehe," Tulip giggled, "This little gal is a Ralts, more specially my Gardevoir's daughter, she recently hatched from an egg just a few days ago."

"Really." Emeraldblade said, clearly intrigued.

"Indeed," Tulip replied, "I want you to have her as a special gift."

Emeraldblade smiled, "Thank you Tulip."

"Hehe," Tulip giggled once more, "Now Gyarados can have a little sister."

Gardevoir gestured her daughter to approach Emeraldblade gently, and while reluctant at first, Ralts slowly began to walk forwards to her new owner. Emeraldblade responded by crouching down and extending her index finger out to her new companion. Ralts in turn reacted by slowly extending her arm out, before calmly touching her finger, after just a moment, Ralts' reluctance turn into joy as she suddenly smiled and hugged Emeraldblade's knee. Emeraldblade took a moment and smiled, before standing back up and turning her attention back to Tulip.

"Thank you so much Tulip, I will treasure her."

"Now how about we take a walk here together," Tulip gestured.

Emeraldblade blushed "I would love that,"

The two women spent much of the morning walking around the park with their pokémon in toll, at one point, Tulip hosted an ESP exercise together with Emeraldblade and their companions as well. The natural beauty of the park's environment brought a sense of peace to the warrior after what she had been through over the last 24 hours. During that time, Emeraldblade's friendship with Tulip blossomed, possibly into something more…

That precious time in the park also helped her grow close with her new companion, Tulip helped train both her Ralts and her Gyarados into improving their battle skills, preparing them for the planned extermination that Heaven had planned soon. Initially Ralts had a hard time learning to battle properly, but over time she got use to her attack style and used it to her advantage against her opponents, eventually managing to win a few small victories from time to time.

Around Noon, a portal emerged from out of nowhere, and out of it came Vaggie.

"Had fun? Well, I came to get you two back to the Hotel, it's time to head home now."

The two women nodded and entered the portal with the ex-exorcist. Upon emerging on the other end, they found themselves back inside the lobby of the hotel, at one end of the room they saw Demoman staring blankly at the television screen. Seeing the odd sight raised the women's eyebrows.

"Demoman, what the hell are you doing?" Vaggie asked.

Demoman turned towards the angel.

"Pyro's here! I saw him on TV!" he replied.

Vaggie turned to Emeraldblade, "What in the world is that drunken fool talking about?"

Emeraldblade rolled her eyes, "Just a friend of his that went missing long ago."

Vaggie covered her face and nodded in disappointment, before looking back up to her friend.

"Listen, while you were gone, Lucifer managed to get ahold of Heaven, they said they'll grant you permission to enter Heaven and appeal your case to their court, but I have a gut feeling it's not going to succeed."

"Whatever the case, it's worth a try," said Emeraldblade.

Vaggie nodded, before parting ways with her friend. Leaving her with alone with Tulip.

"Thanks for inviting me for the outing, I appreciate the gift you gave me today."

Tulip blushed, "I'm glad you like Ralts, just make me a promise: that you'll cherish her with love and compassion forever."

Emeraldblade smiled, "I will."

Tulip smiled, "I'm glad to hear that dear, remember to raise her well, and one day, she might repay you in some way."

With that settled, the two ladies left about their day, knowing that soon, the Hotel will be preparing for a violent storm that was coming…
