Chapter 26: The Visiting Aunts
After the fashion show was over, everyone left the boutique to get a good nights sleep after the a whole dramatic week of fashion and horrible dresses, looking forward to going to the gala with their new dresses. At the entrance of the farm, Spyro and Applejack were talking about how much fun they had, about the lesson that she and her friends learned from this, and complimenting the dress she was wearing. But a moment later, they noticed the same grey Pegasus deliver something at their mailbox and taking off, the two of them wondering what it could be, so they walked up together and in the mailbox was a single letter addressed to Spyro, so he picked it up and opened it, his eyes nearly budging out of his skull when he read it.
Dear Mr. VanVickle,
I do apologize for writing you so soon, but I am pleases to inform you that we had a change in our plans for our business plans recently and our meeting with a potential partner was rescheduled for a later date. So, we will be arriving in Ponyville Sunday Morning instead of the afternoon so we have more time to get to know you. I do hope that it isn't;t too much of an inconvenience to you that we arrive earlier than we intended and we are looking forward to seeing you at the station tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Holiday and Lofty
After reading it, he looked to Applejack, fear appearing on his face as he looked at her. She looked at the letter, reading what was written on it and her own colors started to drain at what she was reading. Both ponies ran towards the farm house and burst through the door, Big Mac and Apple Bloom looking to the door in surprise to see the pair in complete panic.
"Wow AJ, that's some dress yer wearing." Apple Bloom said. "Did Rarity make that for ya?"
"We ain't got time to talk about dresses Apple Bloom!" Applejack exclaimed. "Scootaloo's aunts have changed their arrival time from tomorrow afternoon to tomorrow morning!"
"Tomorrow mornin'!" Apple Bloom shouted. "But, we were just getting to cleaning up the rest of the house! How are we gonna finish cleaning the rest of this place?"
"Like this." Spyro replied, creating multiples of himself, which spooked the Apple Family. "With these duplicates, we should be able to clean the house and the rest of the farm. And we need to be on our best behavior too. I wanna make a good impression on them and don't want anything bad happening."
The filly saluted and everyone rushed off to different parts of the farm to do what they could with Big Mac and a couple of Spyro's duplicates rushing back outside to finish collecting some of the apples and pick up any fallen branches while Apple Bloom and a few more duplicated worked on cleaning the inside of the house and outside of it as Spyro and Applejack ran for the barn to clean it up and to organize the place before the morning. Everyone worked with such speed and tenacity that they worked through the whole night, but Applejack insisted that Spyro go to bed as they were expecting him to be at the train station in the morning, leaving the rest of the work to the Apple Siblings and his duplicates.
As he went to bed, he couldn't get to sleep right away as he was nervous and excited at the same time, dreading the next morning as he didn't know if he was ready yet or not, fearing that they wouldn't like him or wouldn't like the farm that he is staying at. He managed to finally close his eyes to sleep, dreaming of the visit and the aunt's, chasing him like rabid dogs hunting its prey until he was cornered, about to be pounced on when a beam of blue light shot past him and struck the nightmare creatures, disintegrating them on contact. He turned to see who fired the bolt, but found no one behind him, but could sense they were there, hiding and nervous. A moment later, the dream changed to beautiful scenery with the two aunts having a picnic with Scootaloo and another spot reserved for someone else. They then motioned for him to join them, welcoming him into the picnic and possibly into the family.
Before he could walk to them, he work up as the rooster crowed, signaling the morning had come, which he bolted awake and got on his new jacket that Rarity made, but when he looked in the mirror, he thought to himself that it wasn't the right thing to wear, even though she made it for him, but knew Rarity made it for him to make a good impression, so he decided to trust his gut and wore it, walking down stairs to see everyone else up and having breakfast. When they took a look at him, Apple Bloom and Big Mac whistled, taken by surprise at his new jacket.
"Wow Spyro, ya'll look great." Apple Bloom said. "Did Rarity make it for today?"
"She did." Spyro replied. "Though I am having second thoughts about it."
"Oh don't say that." Applejack said, walking up and helping to make his collar neat. "Ya look like a fine stallion. They'll love ya." Just as she said it, she looked up to the clock, gasping when she saw the time and pushed him to the door as quickly as she could. "Ya'll need to hurry! Ah checked the arrival time for the morning trains arrival and it's arrive in a few minutes."
"But, how will I know what they look like?" Spyro asked.
"Ya'll don;t worry about that sugarcube." Applejack replied. "They'll probably find you first as ya stick out from everypony else. Now get going or au'll make a bad first impression by not showing up!"
Before he could say anything else, Applejack had pushed him out the front door and slammed it on him, leaving him out there to gather his courage and took off into the air, passing by some of the weather Pegasi on his way to the train station when he spotted Rainbow Dash getting rid of some of the clouds, narrowly avoiding her as he flew by. She noticed him dodging her as he flew by, wondering why he was in such a hurry and flew after him, catching up in a matter of seconds and flying next to him.
"Hey hot flier, why the rush?" Rainbow Dash asked. "And why are you wearing your fancy new clothes? Got a date?"
"No, I'm meeting a couple of ponies who are arriving today at the train station!" Spyro replied, increasing his speed.
"A couple of ponies?" She asked, staying next to him. "And who are they?"
"Scootaloo's aunts." Spyro replied, surprising Rainbow Dash.
"Wow, wow, wow!" She exclaimed, hovering in front of him, stopping him where he flew. "Slow down there buster. Scootaloo has other family? And you're meeting them? Why?"
"Because I need their blessing to adopt Scootaloo." He replied, making Rainbow Dash's jaw drop. "I heard her story and my heart ached for her as, even though I have loving and a supporting family, no filly should be without someone who will love and care for them. Her wings are under developed, yes, but that means nothing to me. She needs someone who can look after her, someone other than her parents who haven't been there for her, and I am not going to let her live her life without that kind of love and care!"
She then shot past him, flying as fast as he could to get to the station as Rainbow Dash was right behind him, wanting to know more, but couldn't keep up as she lost him, hovering in the air and wondering why he was so determined to do this. Deciding to understand his real intention, she flew to the train station, being careful not to be seen while trying not to be felt by Spyro as he could sense her out is she was careless enough. A minute later, Spyro had landed on the platform of the train station just as the train was arriving, watching as all the train carts were passing by him, waiting for the train to come to a halt, watching the train cars open.
Their doors opened and many ponies got off the train while others got on, making it difficult for him to even see who might be Scootaloo's aunts. But a moment later, he felt something above him, looking up to see Air Soldiers and some Blue Rhapsody's flying towards the mass of ponies, claws sharpened and ice spells ready to fire.
"Oh for crying out loud!" Spyro exclaimed, taking off into the air to handle the problem.
At the very end of the train, a cream colored pegasus mare with blue hair and wearing a light sweater walked off the train and beside her was a cream colored earth pony mare with orange hair and wearing a scarf around her neck. They looked around and only saw a massive crowd of ponies, the same crowd that Spyro saw and tried to walk through, but found it difficult to go through, so they decided to wait by a bench to see if they can see anypony who looks at least regal.
"I hope we see the prince soon." The pegasus mare said. "I really would like to meet him and see the kind of pony he is."
"Oh, don't worry Lofty." The earth pony mare said. "I'm sure he's just a nice young stallion. I'm positive he's-"
"Monsters!" Someone shouted, pointing into the air.
The two mares looked up and saw the Heartless bearing down on the group of terrified ponies, running around to avoid being attacked while the couple were frozen in shock at see them. One of the heartless looked over and saw the cowering couple, flying towards them for an easy kill, but was intercepted by a flash of purple, black and white, being pulled back above the group of ponies and striking it down with his blade, alerting the rest to his presence as they broke off their attack and charged him.
"It's the prince!" Another pony shouted, drawing attention to Spyro. "We're saved!"
The mares looked to the sky to see the hybrid prince striking down Air Soldiers and dodging the ice spells from the rhapsody's, sending fire at them to destroy them, watching in silent awe at the fight. As for Spyro, he hovered in the air striking down the heartless that charged him while dodging and deflecting the ice magic, retaliating with fire as it passed over them, destroying those unfortunate enough to by in the way of the flames. As he was finishing them up, he saw a group of Sky pirates and a single Battleship head his way, their numbers larger than the Air Soldiers.
"Seems you guys are about to have some turbulence." Spyro said, a miniature cyclone appearing around his foreleg as he shot it forward. "Cyclone Burst!"
A massive column of air and cloud shot out of his foreleg, shooting towards the group of Heartless as bolts of lightning and golf ball sized hail flew with the massive cloud, stalling into the center of the group of dark creatures, destroying the Battleship and a majority of the Sky Pirates, but just enough remained to be a hassle for him. As the Sky Pirates joined up with eh remaining Air Soldiers, Spyro lifted his foreleg up, summoning multiple storm clouds above him and lightning shot down onto his hoof, splitting it into multiple smaller bolts that passed through a large quantity of both kinds of Heartless, destroying them and leaving only a few left as they charged. Not washouts any further energy, he spun around and swung wide, hitting them all at once and finishing them off.
Everyone below cheered for him as he hovered in the air as he looked for anymore Heartless, which he didn't see and was getting ready to land when he saw a massive pool of darkness appear just inches away from the train station, making everyone on the ground back away form it. A moment later, a massive Darkside rose out of the pool, yellow eyes looking down at the ponies, many paralyzed with fear at the massive dark being that towered above them all. As it raised its fist to attack, it looked up, but only got sucker punched by Spyro, sending it high into the air that everyone was shocked at how hard he hit it, but a second later, he hovered in the air and extended his wings, six massive ethereal sword appeared and went straight for the Darkside, all of them passing through the massive heart shaped hole in its stomach all crossed together. The giant Heartless looked at Spyro, a look that told him 'Uh oh' as the sword sliced through it, releasing a giant heart and it literally fell to pieces and fading into darkness.
"Now is not a good day for these kinds of distractions." Spyro said.
As he sat down, he was surrounded by every single pony who saw the fight, praising him for his swordsman ship and for his magic, some even asking if he could teach them how he does that, which he laughed nervously at everyone until he noticed the two mares in the distance and pushed through the crowd as it disbursed, sensing that they were who he needed to meet with.
"Holiday and Lofty?" Spyro asked
"Y-yes, your highness." Holiday replied. "I-I'm Holiday. And this is my wife, Lofty." The pegasus mare was still in shock at seeing the creatures and how he handled them, only shaking his hoof when he extended his. "It's an honor to meet you."
"And it is a pleasure to meet the both of you." Spyro replied. "So, where would you like to go to first?"
"Well, I am kinda hungry." Holiday said.
"Well then, let me treat you to some of the best pastries you could ever ask for." Spyro said.
The three of them walked through town where everyone was bowing to him as they walked, making the two mares feel a little awkward with him at first, but soon got use to his company as they reached Sugarcube corner where he went in to order some pastries while the two mares waited as Rainbow Dash stayed in the clouds to listen. The two mares looking at some of the inhabitants and seeing many f the happy foals running around with their friends when they spotted Scootaloo playing with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, pleased that their niece had found herself some friends.
"She's very lucky you know?" Spyro asked, getting their attention as he came out with some cupcakes and other pastries he could get for them. "When we first met, she was a little speed demon on that scooter of hers. Had I not been in the area, she'd end up with a concussion."
"Wait what?" Lofty said, horror in her eyes. "What happened?!"
"She was speeding on her scooter racing through the town, impressive speed, I must admit." Spyro said, taking a bite out of a cupcake. "But a rock hit her wheel and she would have been badly injured if I hadn't caught her. And before you ask, yes, she was wearing a helmet."
"Well, that's a relief." Lofty said, taking a bite from her cupcake, liking it. "So, what were those things that attacked the train station?"
"They're called the Heartless." Spyro responded. "They are created when a pony gives into the darkness that grows in their heart should they let it in. Once you give in, you become one. And, depending on his strong your heart is, that's how strong the Heartless will be."
The two mares were silent for a moment when they he said that, hearing about the Heartless from other ponies who saw them when visiting the town, but never thought they were real. They ate in silence for a bit until one of them worked up the courage to ask the question that was on their minds.
"So, what made you want to adopt our niece in the first place?" Lofty asked. "There has to be a reason for you to want to do such a very selfless thing like that."
He was waiting for that question as he set his pastry down, getting ready to answer, hoping he didn't;t make an idiot of himself.
"Well, there have been a lot of speculations about why she was put in the orphanage in the first place." Spyro answered. "Some say it's because her parents put her there and simply abandoned her. Others think her parents are dead or badly injured."
"Well, I can assure you that is not the case." Lofty replied. "Her parents are alive, but... they aren't exactly a part of her life much these days. They're adventurers and..."
"They don't put aside time for their only daughter." Spyro said, finishing her sentence for her, which she nodded. "That's the thing with me. I had parents who supported and helped me, despite my, difficulties."
"Difficulties?" Holiday asked, peaking her interest and Rainbow Dash's.
"She and I have something in common." Spyro said, making them all wonder. "She her wings are under developed, which is her challenge in her life. Mine however, when I was younger, was more... intellectual than physical." The mares looked to each other, wondering what he was talking about, even Rainbow Dash was wondering what he was talking about, listening in closely. "I'm autistic. Asperger Syndrome to be precise. Many parent's would just give up on kids like me, those whose minds are slower in understanding others, have a more obsessive routine they want to follow all the time, poor social skills, we even don;t show our emotions all that much through our faces."
"But, you don't act like it." Lofty said, surprised to learn this. "You act like a normal pony with no social issues and no problem expressing yourself."
"I have supporting parents who never gave up on me." Spyro answered. "They did everything for me. Others say that those with Asperger's would be behind on everything, never amount to anything and would never have a normal life. But my parents supported me through everything, helped me over come many things in life." He got up from his table and looked up to the sky, remembering all the hurdles he had to face and all the challenges he had to face in school and in his life to this point, grateful for his parents for everything they did to get him this far in life. "Without their support and their love, I'd be nothing. I wouldn't have gotten through high school, I wouldn't have had friends if they put me through a special school for ponies like me, I wouldn't have been able to understand my full potential, I wouldn't be the guy I am now today."
The two mares were in tears hearing about his words, his appreciation for his parents, and how he was said to not amount to anything, but beat those odds and surpassed what others said he'd never do. Even Rainbow Dash, who heard everything couldn't help but tear up, her own heart being torn apart by what he was saying, even though she didn't know what Asperger's really was, she felt like she wanted to hug him and tell him how sorry she was for him. A while later, Spyro took them on a tour of all of Ponyville, some of the local stores to let them see some of the goods they have, meet some of his friends, even getting thrown a party by Pinkie Pie, welcoming them to Ponyville, which they were surprised, but had fun none the less.
After a while, Spyro took them to where he lived at Sweet Apple Acres, the mares surprised he lived on a farm than in a castle, but when he explained why he lived on the farm and how great it was, they started to warm up to the idea, walking with him to the farm house. When they noticed Scootaloo playing with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle near his Gummi garage, playing with the mechanical arms.
"What is that?" Lofty asked.
"That's my Gummi garage." Spyro replied, getting a look from the two mares. "And no, not the edible kind. They're special blocks that help me to build my ships."
"Ships?" Lofty asked. "This far from the ocean?"
"Not those kinds of ships." Spyro replied. "Would like to see what I mean?"
The three of them went to the garage and as they approached, Scootaloo turned and saw her aunt's, excited to see they came to Ponyville and ran up to them.
"Aunt Holiday! Aunt Lofty!" She shouted running up to them and hugging them both, the two of them hugging her. "What are you doing here in Ponyville? Are you here to visit?"
They were going to say they came to see where she'd be living from now on, but look to Spyro who shook his head, asking them silently not to say anything.
"Yes, we came to visit." Lofty said, everyone breaking up the hug. "How have you been holding up? You been a good girl?"
"A very good girl!" She said happily. "I made some new friends and I made friends with Spyro!"
"Is that so?" Holiday asked. "And has he been taking care of you?"
"Oh yeah, he has." She replied. "When he isn't busy helping out here on the farm, he hangs out with me a lot, even playing games with me and my friends. He even helps me with some of my homework when I get stumped. He's like the big brother I always wanted."
"We're happy to hear you're having a great time." Lofty said. "Spyro was going to show us his ships and then show us around Sweet Apple Acres."
"Oh, oh! Can I see your ships too? Please? Please?" Scootaloo asked. "Apple Bloom said you had a Gummi ship and I want to see it."
He looked down at the excited pegasus and then to the fillies, noting how nervous Apple Bloom was when he looked at her, but just smiled and shook his head at her, knowing she just excited and knew they were probably curious about it and nodded his head.
"Sure thing Scootaloo." Spyro replied, the filly cheering in excitement. "But, did you finish your homework like you promised?"
"Yes I did." She replied. "It's in Apple Blooms house right now."
"Alright then. Follow me." Spyro said, picking up the filly and flying with her on his back, the two of them laughing as they went, which the mares seemed to like to see.
"He acts just like a colt." Lofty said, smiling. "But Scootaloo seems happy. I think I'm leaning to agree to the adoption."
"So am I love." Holiday said, each leaning into each other. "And being related to a prince, even if it's on paper and not by blood."
"I'd just be happy that Scootaloo will be with somepony who will show her the love she needs." Lofty said, the two mares walking to the entrance to the garage.
Once everyone was inside, everyone but Apple Bloom were awestruck by the interior, looking at all the panels and blinking lights, the arms that moved and colored some of the blocks. they then saw him at the control panel, pushing a few buttons as a holographic version of his new ship appeared, showing it was complete. The ship had three diamond rows, one of. Top with two below it with the nose of the ship being drills used to bust through asteroids and four Thunder-G cannons with two Meteor-G laser launchers and three medium engines with a dome shaped cockpit and three stacks of cubes behind the diamond columns. Everyone was starring at the ship when a door opened up, Spyro walking to it and motioning for everyone down stairs. They walked down for a minute when they reached the main hangar bay, allowing the lights to come on and reveal the two ships he made, everyone surprised to see how large they were.
"You like them?" Spyro asked. "I designed them and then the garage builds them if the blocks are available." He walked over to his main ship where everyone followed him to it, starring at the massive vessel. "This is the Dragon's Crest. My pride and joy and my most powerful ship."
"But, what happens if it's broke down?" Apple Bloom asked.
"That's why I built this." Spyro replied, pointing to the new ship. "I call it the Grand Harvest. I designed it to be a back up vessel if I need it. In fact, I got the urge to test fly it. Wanna join me?"
"YEAH!" The fillies replied, running to the ships and up the loading ramp.
The two mares were hesitant at first, but followed the excited fillies up the ramp and into the ship, Spyro following close behind as the ramp closed. Everyone was looking at the ship and some of the nearby rooms to see what was there, only to just find cargo and some previsions of food and clean drinking water.
"This is just the cargo bay." Spyro said. "And the other two diamond columns just hold the fuel for the ship. This vessel is meant for speed and for transporting cargo and supplies."
"It's still so cool!" Sweetie Belle said. "Do we get to fly in it?"
"Sure why not." Spyro said, making the fillies squeal in excitement, following the signs to the cockpit. "I think I'm spoiling them too much."
"Maybe a little." Holiday replied. "But what sibling doesn't spoil their brother or sister from time to time."
"Sibling?" Scootaloo asked.
"She means I act like a big brother to you three." Spyro quickly said, trying to keep her adoption a secret.
Shrugging her shoulders, she ran after her friends on the way to the cockpit, giggling and laughing as they went. He took in a breath, released and surprised he actually got away with it and turned to the mares, a smile creeping on his face.
"I do apologize for not telling you sooner." Spyro said. "But, I want it to be a surprise for her when everything is finalized. That is, if it gets finalized."
"So, you wish to surprise Scootaloo with the adoption when it's finalized?" Lofty asked.
"Yes, I do." Spyro replied. "I want it to be the happiest day of her life and I want her to be surprised about it."
"Oh, she's going to be more than surprised!" Holiday exclaimed excitedly. "Lofty, should we..."
"Yes honey, I think so." Lofty replied, hugging her wife. "Spyro, we'd be honored if you could be her big brother and care for her." As soon as she said it, he couldn't say a word as his jaw dropped to the floor, eyes wide and a smile crept onto his face. "From we have seen and heard so far, Scootaloo seems to be very happy with you and she gets along with you with no issue. So, it only makes sense."
"Y-you're serious?" Spyro asked. "Y-you're really serious? You really want me to-"
"Of course." Lofty replied. "We will head down to the orphanage after the flight and give our blessing, finalizing everything. And if it goes through, you will be as much a part of our family as our niece will be a part of yours."
Spyro didn't know what to say as he felt his legs become weak, feeling all the anxiety he felt all day wash away and be replaced with absolute joy and happiness, feeling his heart explode with joy and cheer that he literally leapt into the air and shouted yes extremely loud, making the fillies look down into the cargo bay and see a very excited Spyro.
"Wonder what he's happy about?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Don't know." Scootaloo replied. "But he seems to be getting along well with my aunts. And maybe something they said got him excited."
"Ah think yer right Scootaloo." Apple Bloom said, smirking as she knew what was going on. "Ah think yer right."
"Alright girls, find your seats and strap yourselves in, we're going for a ride!" Spyro shouted, the fillies all rushing to find a seat.
Spyro and the two aunts followed shortly after, walking into the cockpit and saw the fillies in smaller seats, strapped in like he asked and walked over tot the front, the two aunts taking up seats on either side of the prince as he sat down in the pilot seat. He activated the panel and the ship came to life, all the gauges and computer systems came to life, amazing everyone as they watched the vessel come to life as it was pulled from the hanger and taken up by a lift system, heading up to the garages main room. When the lift stopped, the engines on the ship came to life, charging up as the ship shook and when the ships engines were ready, the vessel shot forward and flew into the sky, high above the clouds, but not high enough to where he'd change back to his human form as she didn't want to freak them out if it did happen.
As he flew the vessel, he looked back and saw the fillies wanted to get out of their seats and wanted to look out the windows he placed for ponies and fillies to look out if they wanted to, to which he nodded his head and the fillies unbuckled their seats, running to the nearby windows to look. Even Holiday got out of her seat and went over to the fillies to look out the window. Lofty watched the excited ponies look out the window, having the time of their lives and looked back to Spyro, a smile appearing on her face as she was contempt with their happiness when she saw something approaching them. It was something made of rock and plants, looking like a flying vessel of some kind, but dark smoke was coming out of the body of the ship, not liking what it was.
"What's that?" Lofty asked, pointing to the strange rock.
Spyro looked to where she was pointing and saw the same thing she did, without a moments notice, he turned the vessel to the left, which threw everyone who wasn't strapped down onto the floor as the ship flew past him.
"AIVA, get the weapons online and raise the shields! We got company!" Spyro ordered, turning to the fillies and the mare. "Return to your seats! This is going to get rough!"
Without being told twice, everyone went back to their seats as the shields surrounded the ship, the ship shaking a bit as the shields were hit, shaking everything.
"Sir, the shields have taken a critical hit." AIVA said. "Shields are down to 78%. Weapons online."
"Can you calculate a route back to the planets surface?" He asked.
"Calculating." AIVA replied. "Calculations complete. The nearby clouds can provide cover for your decent back to the surface of the world, loosing the enemy vessels for a short period of time."
"How long?" Spyro asked.
"Roughly 12.3 seconds." She replied.
"More than enough time." Spyro said. "AIVA, prepare passenger escape pods 1 through 5. Once we are close to the surface after getting out of the clouds, eject the passengers so they can be safe."
"Affirmative. ETA: thirty seconds." AIVA replied.
"Spyro..." Apple Bloom said, looking scared.
"Don't worry girls. I'm not letting anything happen to you." Spyro replied, spotting the clouds.
As he flew through the clouds, he dove straight down towards the surface, breaking through the cloud cover and pulling up to where the belly of the ship was facing the ground. A second later, the chairs the other ponies were in descended below the floor and into separate pods, each seemingly personalized for them and the pods were launched out of the ship, falling to the ground as they held onto their seats for dear life as they fell. In town, Applejack was in town to pick a few things up, meeting up with twilight so they could go together when Rainbow Dash flew down, looking emotional and like she had lost another friend.
"Rainbow Dash, ya'll ok?" Applejack asked. "Ya look like yer about to cry."
Without a second to think about it, she told them what she had heard when she was watching Spyro, trying to figure out why he was meeting with Scootaloo's aunts and telling them about his disability, the challenges she heard, how others said he'd never amount to anything, even about how his parents supported him and did everything for him. As she was talking, Twilight's eyes and Applejacks started to tear up, not being able to contain their emotions, hearing about everything he went through in his life and his admiration and love for those who supported him. When Rainbow Dash was finished, Applejacks tipped her hat to hide her eyes, trying not to show she was about to cry while Twilight just let the tears flow, both sad about how he struggled, but admiring him for over coming what other thought was impossible.
"But, what is Asperger Syndrome exactly?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Oh Rainbow, it's on the spectrum of Autism." Twilight replied. "It's an intellectual disability that makes their social skills, making speech and nonverbal communication difficult for them and repetitive behavior. Those with autism are usually shined by many, seen as defective and always put down for it. But for Spyro to best it and be the stallion he is now, surpassing what others would think he couldn't do, it shows what being in a loving environment can do and having a lot of support."
"Guess he saw Scootaloo as a filly who needed that same support and want's to do the same for her." Applejack said, wiping her tears away. "He saw a disabled filly and knew what it means to have a disability, wanting to give her a loving environment like he was in."
As they were talking, Rainbow Dash noticed it was getting darker and looked up, her friends looking where she was and seeing something coming out of the clouds, watching as the Grand Harvest flew out of the clouds and pull up, releasing two adult sized pods with three foal sized pods from underneath it, the five pods landing into the ground hard and out of them was the fillies and Scootaloo's aunts, looking up as the ship flew off back into the sky followed by three of those rock shaped ships firing at him.
"What the heck!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, the pods busting open to allow for Lofty, Holiday, and the three fillies to come out.
"Apple Bloom!" Applejack shouted. "What happened? What were you doing in those things?"
"Spyro was taking us in his new ship for a test flight." Apple Bloom replied. "And when we were above the clouds, those rock like things came out of no where."
"Wait, so those things attacked ya'll while in his new ship?" Applejack asked. "But what exactly are they?"
"Ah don't know." She replied. "But Spyro used some kind of metal shell things to eject us from the ship and make sure we got back onto the ground."
"Protecting you? How pitiful." Came a female voice.
Everyone looked to where the voice came from and looked in front of them to see a unicorn mare with a dark blue coat and a black mane with a streak of red in her mane and yellow eyes. Only Twilight knew who that was and could feel her heart drop into her stomach as she recognized the mare despite not seeing her before, but recognized the red streak in her mane as it was the same streak she saw from a certain lioness.
"Seems he has grown weaker if he's making attachments to pitiful creatures like you." The mare said.
"Who the heck ya'll callin' pitiful!?" Applejack exclaimed.
"Oh, oh, a new friend!" Pinkie exclaimed, popping out of no where. "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, and I wanna be your new best-"
Before she could finish, the pony she was greeting pulled her foreleg back and sucker punched Pinkie Pie into the air before turning and kicking her towards the group, making her skid across the ground until she came to a stop right at their hooves.
"Pinkie!" Twilight exclaimed, helping her up.
"Hey, not cool!" Rainbow Dash shouted, flying at the mare, but getting knocked to the ground and kicked into a nearby stall, collapsing on top of her.
"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight shouted.
The mare looked back at Twilight, though she seemed to have heard her voice before, she couldn't place where she heard it before. A moment later, there was a large explosion in the air and everyone looked up, seeing a massive fireball in the air and debris entering the world's atmosphere, burning up as it entered. Everyone froze, thinking it was Spyro's ship that was destroyed, but the mare that was attacking them just smiled to herself before laughing as the thought of his destruction was funny to her, but his friends were horrified, thinking their friend was gone.
Back with Spyro after he ejected his passengers, he flew his ship out of the world's atmosphere and back into space, making sure the unknown vessels were following him. As he looked, he saw three rocky vessels following him and shooting at his ship, doing maneuvers to avoid being hit as the cannons turned around and returned fire, tracking the enemy ships and picking them off one by one. As the cannons returned fire, Spyro looked ahead of him and felt his blood freeze as there was a massive carrier class vessel with multiple Thunder-G cannons with missile bays and a section in the center of the massive rock that allowed for smaller craft to fly out and go towards him.
"Oh, this is turning into a real lousy day!" Spyro exclaimed, dodging the enemy vessels as they flew at him, being tailed by dozens of fighters. "AIVA, return fire and get rid of all these things!"
"Negative sir." AIVA replied. "Our weapon systems will run out of power and out of ammunition if we try to destroy all enemy fighters. Running a deep scan analysis on the vessels for a weakness."
"We don't have time for that!" Spyro shouted, dodging a missile. "We need to return fire."
"Deep scan processing." AIVA replied, the screens turning blue as the scan started and red when it ended. "Deep Scan complete. The enemy carrier works like a hive mind. Once the hive mind is destroyed, the others will follow."
"Wait, so you're saying that if we destroy that massive carrier, the fighters will self-destruct?" Spyro asked.
"Affirmative." AIVA replied. "I recommend the use of the new drills to dig through the shell of the ship to hit the power core in the rear of the vessel."
"Then power up the drills and find a weak point in its armor where we can start digging." Spyro said.
As the scan was being conducted, Spyro kept dodging enemy fire as he returned fire on the enemy fighters, taking out as many as he could while he waited for the scan to complete. When his screens showed his ammunition was getting low and his shields were almost gone, the scan was completed, showing there was a weak point in the engines of the enemy carrier where he could drill through and hit not only the power core, but also damage it's fuel canisters and destroy the vessel. Without a moment's hesitation, he turned the drills on and let them warm up, his cockpit being pulled in as it was warming up and sealing the glass dome into the body of the ship and activating a holographic screen to allow him to see where he was flying, going straight towards the engines while being followed by all the fighters he didn't destroy. When the drills were at full power, he flew straight to the engines and through the shell, drilling through the ship and through all its rocky shell until it passed through a dark crystal that seemed to power the ship and through the fuel canisters like he had planned.
As he kept digging through the ship, it started to catch fire as small explosions were going across its hull, cracks appearing all across it as purple and black light was shining through the cracks of the hull. On the inside, purple flames started to appear on the inside, explosions inside of the ship, causing devastating damage to the interior as he flew through to get out as quickly as he could until he arrived at the hangar bay, seeing the opening and flew out, getting to a safe distance as the massive vessel exploded, blowing up into multiple pieces as he flew back to the planet, shaken, but alright.
"AIVA, what kind of ships were those?" Spyro asked. "They weren't Heartless. And they certainly were not Nobodies."
"Unknown." AIVA responded, the screens lighting up red. "Sir, there is a dark presence in Ponyville and is attacking your friends."
"Put it on the screen." Spyro said.
AIVA pulled up the scene and was horrified because the mare he was seeing had just punched and kicked Pinkie into the ground and towards his other friends while Rainbow Dash was knocked into a nearby stall, how she was doing, he didn't know, but didn't wait for anything else to happen as he charted a course for the town and shot down, hoping to protect his friends. On the ground, the mare was walking towards Twilight and her group, calling her Keyblade, which surprised everyone but Twilight when they saw the weapon, making them back away from their assailant.
"W-why does she have a Keyblade?" Scootaloo asked, her aunts pulling her away.
"Seems your friend was no match for the Grublins." The mare said, a dark smile appearing on her face. "And now to make sure the ones who could defeat my master never meet him!"
She raised her blade and called dark flames, a massive fireball being formed above her as the mares and fillies watched in horror as she called the dark magic flames, throwing the massive ball as the mares used themselves to protect the fillies, Twilight trying to create a barrier, but her fear was interrupting her magic. Before the massive fire ball could hit, Spyro appeared in front of them and caught the ball, spinning around and throwing the massive ball back at the mare, which she had to dodge when it hit where she was previously, narrowly avoiding being hit. When everyone saw Spyro, there was mixed emotions in the air with happiness and joy coming from his friends, glad to see he was ok and anger and hate from the mare, who looked furious he was still alive.
"Hey now, didn't your parents teach you playing with fire was dangerous?" Spyro asked, smiling a goofy smile.
"So, it seems my grublins failed to destroy you, old friend." The mare replied.
"So it is you May." Spyro replied, calling his Keyblade. "Didn't think you'd recover from your injuries so soon."
"You'd be amazed what some time in a pool of dark magic can do for you." May replied, raising her Keyblade. "And now I get to destroy you and then this pathetic world."
Before anyone could say a thing, May charged forward, moving at speed that made it difficult to be seen, but Spyro just blocked the attack, pushing the corrupted mare away and he began attacking as well, both the ponies striking, dodging and blocking each others attacks as they appeared to be equally matched in combat. Everyone, even the town folk were watching as the two of them kept exchanging blows, sending magic at each other to hit one and another, but each just dodged and deflected the magic, charging at each other and locking their blades, each starring into each others eyes as May just smiled, enjoying herself.
"Seems you're more willing to fight me now." May said. "What changed? Don't like seeing your little horse friends getting hurt!?"
"The May I knew wouldn't harm an innocent life." Spyro replied. "She'd love this place as it was her dream to see the inhabitants of this world. But you, you're not the girl I once knew. You are not May. You are not my old friend. You are my enemy!"
Spyro shifted his weight, moving to his left and making May fall a bit before trying to strike her, but she just dodged the attack, just barely able to avoid a devastating hit that could have left some serious injuries. laughing, she turned to face her former friend and a dome of darkness appeared around him, darkness swirling in the dark sphere until it shattered, revealing May had taken on a darker form as she now had a blood red coat with two Keyblades she was holding with her aura, striking and slashing at Spyro as he dodged them, trying not to get hit, but barely able to dodge her assault. But he couldn't;t dodge the attack for long as May finally landed a hit to his chest, sending him into the air and slashing him multiple times before kicking him into the ground, burying him under rubble, everyone horrified as they watched.
"You put up a better fight than last time." May said. "But in the end, you are still too weak."
She turned to the group, smiling that she now had a clear path to her intended targets, walking towards the group of ponies as they backed away to get away from the mare. A moment later though, they heard some horns and violins playing, looking to see where it was coming from, but nothing was in sight, but Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash recognized the song and as the horns were reaching their climax, they saw a familiar sight as either lights shined through the rubble before erupting into a pillar of gold light. Everyone looked to the pillar, even May as a familiar figure walked out of the light, surrounded by the same golden light until it started to flake off of his body, revealing Spyro had called upon his Chaos Emeralds power again, shocking the whole town about the sudden change and the sudden power increase. May was surprised at the sudden change, but smiled and turned to face him, chuckling as she turned.
"So, you finally figured out how to go super." May said, raising her Keyblades. "Now things are getting interesting."
The two moved at impossible speeds, seemingly disappearing in an instant as everyone looked around to see where they were until they felt a shock wave, the two ponies locking blades again and then fighting at extreme speed that they couldn't keep up with them as they fought. Strike after strike, the two of them exchanged blows, May finally feeling the draining effects of the fight while Spyro, also getting exhausted, was still going as he broke her defense and knocked her to the ground, making her leave an imprint in the earth as he dove to plunge his Keyblade into the dark pony, but she just rolled away as he struck, the two facing each other as the exhaustion of the fight was kicking in, May's dark drive form disappearing. After a minute of tense silence, May started to laugh, starting off as a small chuckle, gradually progressing into uncontrollable laughter, putting everyone on edge.
"I must admit, even I didn't see this coming." May said. "The Prince of Light and Darkness now capable of using the positive energy of the Chaos Emeralds to activate his super form. Now this was a battle. But unfortunately, I have to wrap this up as I'm on a tight schedule."
As she said it, a dark dome appeared around her again, catching everyone off guard as it shattered once more, revealing her coat was black and dark yellow with two Keyblades spinning above her, catching him completely off guard as she bolted forward and struck him in the gut, sending him into the air and leapt up, slashing him at intense speed even he couldn't keep up with due to the gut shot. When she was satisfied, she kicked him to his friends, lying there in a crumpled heap as his super form was fading and reappearing, struggling to keep it going as he laced there in serious condition.
"Hey, what gives!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Spyro said once a drive has been used, it takes time or the use of a specific item to charge it back up!"
"Well, let's just say I have defied those rules." May replied, slowly walking up to them. "When I first discovered this dark power, I knew I could move mountains with it, destroy entire worlds, defy the rules of all logic like the Prince of Light and Darkness could. So, by calling upon my dark energy, mixing it with my drives, I can use multiple drives in a single fight than a regular warrior would have trouble with as using a second drive just after the first. Even your prince can't keep up with me after such a long fight, which is just as I planned."
Everyone was horrified at what was going on, their friend barely able to stand up, his super form finally fading as his energy was depleted, and barely conscious as he tried to get up and fight. he was only able to get up thanks to Pinkie and Rainbow Dash helping him up, looking to May as she was approaching them.
"Spyro, please don't die on us!" Pinkie said, her mane deflating. "We need you!"
"S-s-she's too... strong." He finally said. "I-I can't... keep up. So... tired."
"No Spyro, you can't pass out now." Rainbow Dash said, reaching into his pouch and tossing an exiled above him, restoring his strength. "You need to match her power."
"She's using a drive." Spyro replied, barely able to stand on his own. "And with the darkness she's using, my drives would be powerless."
"Well, what about a Fusion Drive?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Would that work?"
"Maybe." Spyro replied. "But with her speed and strength, I'd need something that can either keep up or surpass her speed and strength."
"Then let me help." Rainbow Dash volunteered. "With my speed mixed with yours, we'd be untouchable."
"What is she talking about?" Lofty asked, standing in front of her niece and wife.
"Ya'll will see." Applejack replied. "You can also borrow my strength. That should be more than enough to beat her."
He looked to his friends, seeing the determination to help him despite the situation, then looked back to the fillies and the two aunts, seeing the fear in their eyes and feeling their despair as it rose to a peak that he never felt before. Smiling, he walked a few steps forward, finding renewed strength from his friends and chuckled, surprised he'd laugh in this situation.
"Thanks girls." Spyro said. "I think I'll take you up on that offer."
Without a moments hesitation, Applejack and Rainbow Dash stepped forward, standing on either side of Spyro as a dome of light surrounded him, feeling the power flow through him as he called his drive. The aunts were confused to what he was doing, but he village was cheering as he was ready to fight again, not waiting to see what drive he'll have this time, but when Applejack was surrounded by the same dome, they gasped as they didn't know what was going on, the first time they saw Applejack get surrounded by a dome. Rainbow Dash was waiting for the dome to surround her, excited to get to get into the action, but a second later, a third dome did appear, but it didn't appear around Rainbow Dash, which she looked around to see what was going on, but saw the dome had surrounded Pinkie Pie, all three shattering as the dragon and orange earth pony flew to the air, the farm mares hat blowing off her head like it did before, but a glowing pinkie earth pony was running beside the dragon, circling him as all three flew up.
"What!?" Rainbow Dash shouted. "But, I volunteered! Why didn't it work!?"
No one answered as it didn't make sense to them either, but watched as the sky above darkened, covered by clouds as orange and pink lightning shot through them, the three ethereal forms colliding together in an explosion of purple, orange and pink, but a moment later, a beam of the three colors shot down from the clouds and sent a shock wave out that pushed May back, but left the others alone. In it was Spyro, but his new coat had taken on a new form as the pattern remained the same, but the white flame on it was pink instead with a hue expanding outward and then orange, the same for the flames on his forelegs. But the strange thing was that the pink and orange earth pony forms came running down and reared up, their forelegs raised and they turned to light, pink flying into his left side while orange flew into his right.
A second later, armor started to appear in place of his bracers, his right fore and hide leg and his shoulder getting orange and red armor with the head of an orange pony on his shoulder with Applejacks cutie mark, the armor looking a bit like apple trees, but painted orange and red for the entire thing with gold on the outer ridges. For his left, the armor there was more pink and cyan blue with the same kind of head on his left shoulder, but with Pinkie's cutie mark on its forehead instead and the armor looking more like balloons. His hair then grew puffy and long as it was tied up at the end like Applejacks with the hair being pink on the left, royal gold in the middle, and blonde on the right. To top it off, the hat flew up to him and he caught it with his hoof, putting the hat on his own head as he opened his eyes, the new colors of them being purple, emerald green, and blue.
"So, using that again?" May asked, amused and ready for it. "You caught me off guard the first time you used it. But not this time."
As she was getting ready to fight, Spyro called his Ultima blade and the Keyblade for Applejack, but the new blade had the body of a candy cane with three balloons for the teeth of the blade, a lollipop for the handle with the candy portion fused into the guard with candy corn pointing outward towards the blade and a chocolate guard with the Element of Laughter on the bottom portion of the blade and Pinkie's party cannon for the keychain.
"I'm gonna be honest with you May." Spyro said, his voice fused with Pinkie's and Applejacks. "It's time to party."
Just as he said that, May got shot in the back by one of Pinkie's party cannons, knocking her off her hooves as Spyro had appeared in front of her, uppercutting here with his hoof before jumping up and slashing her multiple times and kicking her into the ground, leaving behind a crater as she landed. As May got up, she saw a whole row of party cannons pointing at her, making her duck back into the crater to avoid being pelted be whatever it shot at her, but was sent into the air when a massive apple tree shot out of the ground, the cannons following her as it fired round after round of sticky sweets that covered her and as she landed, she tried to charge him, but found herself stuck to the ground, unable to move as Spyro just hopped towards her, a smile appearing on his face.
Not belated yet, May dismissed her corrupted Master form and called her wisdom drive, firing magical missiles and a bombardment of spells at him to try and do some damage but every time they got close, he just appeared in a different spot still hopping to her, failing to land a single hit as he just seemed to teleport without even blinking. When she looked away to try and free herself from her sticky situation, he had just appeared in front of her and hit her into the air again, blowing some balloons and sending them into the air after her. But everytime she hit one of the balloons, she was hit with a small magical explosion that sent her higher into the air, damaging her and letting her fall to the ground as the last balloon seemed to knock her unconscious, crashing down hard. When she got back up, her drive was gone as she was seemingly running out of steam, wobbling and her legs buckling under her as she stood.
"Hope you had a laugh at all this." Spyro said, crossing his blades together. "Because, honestly, I did as it was a lot of fun."
He took the Keyblade he got from Applejack and plunged it into the ground, an apple tree saplings shot up into the air and grew into a massive Apple tree, it's roots growing quickly as they restrained May, tying her up ad holding her in the air as multiple blue ethereal balloons appeared and out of them rolled multiple party cannons that fired at the dark mare, coating her in icing and whip cream, looking more annoyed than hurt as he kicked the tree, dropping her from her restrains as massive apples fell on top of her exploding into massive red balls of magic that did harm her and blow away the icing, only to see she had cake mix on her as well, backing it her into a cake that she tried to wiggle out of, but couldn't move. She then looked forward and Saw her opponent put dozens of cakes around her, but the candles weren't candles, but massive sticks of dynamite that looked to be enhanced with magic, making her eyes shrink.
"Oh son of a-" She'd try to say, but was interrupted.
The cakes exploded and sent her flying into the air again, but this time Spyro leapt up to her and, with his three keyblades, slashed straight through, making her fall to the ground with a loud thud while Spyro just glided down, no harm to him and he landed. When the fight was done, the massive apple tree disappeared as all the damage done in the fight seemed to fix itself as if nothing happened. He looked around, finding an unconscious May in a crumpled heap like he was earlier, but more damage was inflicted onto her than she did to him as he could see searing scorch marks on her coat and massive bruising already starting to appear. Before he could walk over to her, his friends all ran up to him with excitement, but Rainbow Dash looked annoyed.
"That was amazing." Twilight said. "How did you know Pinkie Pie would be able to best her?"
"I didn't." Spyro replied, his eyes turning purple. "I was trying to call on Rainbow Dash as she volunteered to fuse with me, but Pinkie's heart answered the call instead."
"Well, whatever the case, that was fun!" Pinkie said, Spyro's eyes changing to blue and hopping.
"But, but I volunteered." Rainbow Dash said, her head looking down to the ground. Spyro couldn't stand seeing his friend upset and walked up to her, whispered something in her ear that not even the two earth ponies who were fused with him could hear, which seemed to make Rainbow Dash's ear shoot up and she shot into the air. "Awe yeah! You have a deal!"
She then looked down at her friends, feeling her face get warm and put her hooves back onto the ground, trying to play it off as nothing, but her face didn't lie.
"What'd ya promise her Spyro?" Applejack asked, his eyes turning Emerald Green. "Come on, spill it."
"I'm not going to repeat it." Spyro replied.
"I am lost." Lofty said. "What's going on here?"
"It's a long story." Spyro replied. "It's best that I tell you, without the two mares."
A moment later, he was surrounded by pink, purple, and orange lights, the three of them separating to being three separate ponies again while everyone went their separate ways, Spyro walking with Lofty and Holiday to explain about the Fusion Drive he discovered and how it worked, his encounter with hi sold friend who tried to kill him, leaving out the part about them being from another world, and about the herd the princess granted him. They were skeptical to say the least when he told them just about everything he told them, but in the end saw him for who he was and nothing else. While Scootaloo was out playing with her friends again, distracting herself from everything that occurred today, her aunts and Spyro went to the orphanage where she was staying at and went to the head of the place, doing some work together and completing the necessary paperwork to allow him to adopt Scootaloo while also finding a way for the aunts to remain her family if anything happens to him. The aunts were nervous at first, but when everything was finalized, everyone signed the paperwork t make it official.
"Congratulations your highness." The head of the orphanage said. "Once I get this paperwork processed and finalized, you will be able to take Scootaloo home."
"I'm so happy for you and for our niece." Lofty said. "But, may we ask to visit her from time to time?"
"Of course." Spyro replied. "After all, you're her family too. I wouldn't dare deny you the right to visit her. How long will it take for the paper work to be processed?"
"Well, with how everything seems to be in order, you can pick her up tonight." The mare said. "We'll have her stuff packed and ready to go and you can take her with you."
The trio walked out of the orphanage and went outside, the two aunts hugging him and smiling knowing their niece was in good hands. A second later, Twilight and all their friends walked past when Pinkie looked over and pointed them out, everyone watching as he walked down the stairs with the aunts.
"Um, Spyro... why are you at the orphanage?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yeah, whatcha doing here? Huh? Huh? Huh?" Pinkie asked.
"Spyro, is she..." Applejack was about to ask, but choked on her words.
"Yes AJ, you and Big Mac can get started." Spyro replied, smiling. "It is done. She'll be coming home tonight."
"YEEHAW!" Applejack exclaimed excitedly, running for the farm. "Ya'll don't need to tell me twice!"
"Oh, congratulations darling." Rarity said, tears in her eyes.
"Will somepony tell me what's going on!?" Pinkie shouted, flailing her forelegs as she stood on her hind legs.
"I just finished the paperwork to adopt Scootaloo as my little sister." Spyro replied, shocking both Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. "Now she's going to have the love and care of a big brother."
"Oh Spyro, we're so happy for you." Twilight said. "We know you'll be a great big brother."
Everyone gathered around him and gave him a group hug, happy with himself for the decision he made. When they broke up the hug, Spyro leaned over to Pinkie, whispering into her ear and she gasped, jumping into the air and ran off in the direction of Sugarcube corner before running past them again with a whole bunch of party supplies and snacks.
"Don't need to ask what you asked Pinkie to do." Rainbow Dash said, smiling. "So, when's the party?"
"Tonight," Spyro replied. "It is tonight at Sweet Apple Acres.'
"Oh, I'll be there." Rainbow Dash said, flying off.
"We'll all be there." Twilight said. "There's no way we'd miss this."
Everyone ran off back home to get prepared for tonight while he invited her aunts to the party, which they accepted as they wouldn't miss this for the world. After a couple of hours, Scootaloo came back to the orphanage, happy to have a somewhat fun day when she noticed her aunts were out on the door step of the building, excitement filling her heart as she ran up, excited to see them and for the news, but also dreading it as she didn't want to leave her new friends. As she ran up, she hugged her aunts and they hugged her back, happy to see each other again.
"Aunt Lofty! Aunt Holiday!" She exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
"We came to do a bit of paperwork." Lofty replied, wrapping her foreleg around her. "We were just waiting for you."
"For what?" Scootaloo asked. "You taking me home?"
Just as she asked the question, Spyro came outside, looked down at the three of them and smiled a warm smile, but what caught the fillies attention was that he had all her belongings on his back, questioning what he was doing with them until a thought occurred to her, walking up to him as he came down the stairs.
"Hey there Scoots." Spyro said.
"S-Spyro... why do you..?" She asked but was interrupted when the head of the orphanage came outside.
"Mr. VanVickle, you forgot this." She said, passing him her helmet.
"Oh, thanks." He replied, using his aura to take the helmet and put it on his back.
"What's going on?" Scootaloo asked.
"Congratulations Scootaloo." The head of the orphanage said. "You are now the little sister of Prince Spyro VanVickle.'
"I'M WHAT!?" Scootaloo said, feeling her heart rate sky rocket. "Wait, you adopted me Spyro!?"
"That's right Scootaloo." He replied, walking up to the filly. "I wanted it to be a surprise for you as I heard from your aunts and from others about your situation. How your parents aren't a big part of your life right now and, though I have loving parents of my own, you deserve someone who can shower you the love and care you need. And-"
Before he could say another word, Scootaloo ran up to him and rested her head on his chest, a tear going down her cheek as she happily rubbed her head against him like a foal does with their mother. Smiling, he lowered his head down and hugged her, sensing how happy she was and the joy she has in her heart. After a minute, they ended the hug and Spyro picked her up with his aura and put her on his back, the two heading back to Sweet Apple Acres followed by her aunts as they walked together to the orchard where her new home was waiting for her. As they got closer to the farm, everyone could see the Apple siblings waiting for them out on the porch, the filly very excited to see her friend that when they approached.
"Welcome home Scootaloo!" Apple Bloom said excitedly. "Hope you like it here!"
"Hey Apple Bloom!" Scootaloo exclaimed, hoping off his back and to her friend.
Spyro couldn't help but smile as the two fillies started to talk about all the fun they were going to have on the farm, which the older siblings just chuckled at their excitement, happy everything was going to work out.
"Alright you two, there will be plenty of time for fun later." Spyro said. "Apple Bloom, why don't you;t you show her around while I put her stuff in your guys room."
"Sure thing!" She said, the two fillies running off into the house.
"Do make sure she remains safe." Holiday said. "After all, she's our only niece."
"Don't worry, she's in good hooves." Spyro said, walking into the house.
As he went up the stairs, he could hear the fillies down stairs as Apple Bloom was busy showing her around the house as he went into their room, finding that Big Mac and Applejack had already set up the bunk beds for the fillies and had already built a second dresser for Scootaloo, putting name tags on the individual pieces of furniture. He set down Scootaloo's stuff next to and on top of the dresser, happy to make the little pegasus filly happy and pleased to actually have a sibling. When he went down stairs, he looked outside and saw Applejack motion for him to bring the fillies as everything was ready, walking down to find them laughing in the living room.
"Well, now that you have had a tour of the downstairs, let's show you the barn." Spyro said.
"The Barn?" Scootaloo asked.
"Yeah. Since we live here, we are going to help out with the chores, that is if you aren't in school." Spyro replied, seeing the disappointed look on her face. "Hey, don't worry. Here, we make doing chores fun."
As he walked out, the two fillies followed him outside where Scootaloo's aunts were waiting for them, following them to the barn and inside where it was dark. When he flipped on the lights, everypony in Ponyville popped out of their hiding spots and shouted 'surprise, startling the filly, but they then joined the party, everyone having a blast. As the party was going on, Spyro walked outside and looked up, looking into the night sky as he watched some of the stars twinkle, thinking about everything that has happened today and about the future ahead, thinking about his parents and the sacrifices they made to help him.
"Mom, dad, if you are looking to the night sky, wondering what I have been up to, don't worry about me." He said. "When I plan to come visit, you are going to be surprised. I love you, and thank you, for everything."
He went back into the barn, rejoining the party when a single star in the night sky shined for a second, bright as day as his words, even though he was far away, were heard.
